That's right. So, I mean, it's been in my blood for a long time, and I decided, fuck it, let's do it.

I was actually really inspired because we went to the opening of the marquee, reopened Unwell, had their after party at one of the after parties at Marquis. And they've done a beautiful reopening. No, like being on Broadway or my own show. My own Erika Jayne show. Like the one in London for Mighty Hoopla. Yeah. I mean, I love to dj, but you're playing other people's records and you're hyping a crowd up, but when you're doing your own show, it's like you're doing your own show.

Yeah.

You know, that's a different. That's a different relationship with an audience than standing behind decks and showing a.

Different type of vulnerability. Yeah.

And just really like throwing your entire body and soul into it.

A little bit, yeah. A little bit. Yeah. I had a conversation the other day about possibly going back.

It's a lot. But I'm sure Bravo makes the killing.

Yeah. And I think. And it is a fun way for all the housewives to kind of meet each other that haven't met before or to see people that you've gotten along with. And I always enjoy that.

I enjoy that too. Because a lot of the people I don't know from other shows.

And it's nice to connect with them and say hello. I mean. And a lot of us other housewives, we don't know each other.

And without this pod, I wouldn't probably watch all of the different franchises, but now that I know every single franchise, I'm like, okay, do I walk in and I'm. I'm high, like, happy yourself, or am I like, oh, this person probably hates me?

So what? That's part of the game. They know what the deal is. How about the Salt Lake Girls getting the COVID of what is it us or something?

That's fine. I think it's great for them. I was with Heather Gay at the Unwell Weekend. We had a nice moment together. She was really sweet. I've never really had that kind of in person facetime with her. But they're doing really well. Yeah, that show's doing really well. Good for them.

I mean, you wouldn't even believe it. Like, when you're watching that show.

I've never watched a show, but I know you've always been, like, a really good fan.

And then when they go to her confessional, she has it written out and.

Yeah. I'm not profiting from people's Pain. Her podcast. You are because you're on the show. So you're getting paid to be on the show. We all profit off each other's pain. Yeah. And it's part of the gig.

Yeah. I'm not harming or constantly hurting my friends.

I don't know about that.

We don't know. We haven't really seen you. Because the one time that you were hanging out with your friends is when you were talking about Tamara.

Yeah. So I don't. I don't really know. And then other than that, I've just been seeing her yelling a lot.

Well, she came in with something in mind and she stuck to the plan. I'm not disclosing information my friends asked me not to talk about. Like she did with Shannon and her dad.

Isn't that what this whole season is about? The things that she's disclosed about? I mean, I hate to keep saying about Tamara, but that's what she's doing every single time.

I wish we could talk about something else other than Tamara. I know, and that's no shade to Tamara, but I'm just tired of talking about Tamara.

But it's exactly what she's doing. She's creating this. She's creating all this discussion about.

I'm telling you, like I said this a few weeks ago. How cool would it have been if she'd have come in and had no grudge and they could have gotten along at least for a couple episodes, and then blow out over something present not 17 years ago.

Nobody. I don't even remember 17 hours ago.

You know, it's, it's non stop. Slate was mad at me the other.

Day and she called you a manipulator or a liar yet.

No, but she said you said we were gonna have a conversation about it. And I said, we did have a conversation. I just said, no, and you don't like my answer. And she slammed that door so fast.

I was like, I opened the door. I go, if you have an attitude about this one more time, this is being taken away. And it's something that's important to her.

And I was like, yeah, we. I realize that you're becoming a teenager and you're about to go through the change or whatever.

Because it's hard. You know, once they become teenagers, it's a whole different ball game because then the entire world revolves around their plans and what they want. And I'm like, what she's mad at me about is I said that she could go to a Halloween party the night before Halloween with all of her friends, but I said, on Halloween you're going to spend it home with me. And like we, we go to the same Halloween party every year.

Yeah.

And I'm like, with all the kids, everybody goes, this is what happens. You have friends there, we have family there. Like we have. Yeah, that's what we're doing.

And she didn't want to do that.

And she wanted to go to the other party.

Well, this is going to become a, you know, more increasingly thing as she grows older. But I think that, you know, people don't know this, but Teddy, she's a very calm parent. And then she will click out on them and be really. You don't let those kids get away with shit.

She. You're very nice. And then you're like, okay, that's enough. And you're very tough.

And then Heather opens up about her dad and how he was a corporate dad and they didn't have much of a relationship, which, you know, it's pretty common. It's common and it's sad.

Well, then Tamara thinks Shannon threw the bridal shower for herself to get back at Tamara by being close with Jen.

Then Gretchen tells the girls that with Tamara, fighting for fire with fire is the best way to handle it. She thinks Tamara only responds to strength.

Well, I don't think fighting fire with fire is the best route with Tamara. Cause I think she's gonna keep going, you know?

Yeah. She doesn't. She'll just keep going.

She'll keep going. I think the best way for me at least. We've only had one argument that was like, contentious.

Yeah.

Contentious. And I just kind of had to, like. Even though I wanted to fix it right away.

Yeah. I had to let it stay.

I had to let it sit there for a minute and then she got over it.

And I apologized and she apologized and then it was done. But it was like, give her a second of space to let her kind of.

Right. Process and not be reactive.

If you're reactive and then you're fighting somebody with fire.

Well, I think that getting high is if you're. Yeah. I mean, I'm agreeable when I'm not drinking. Yeah, but what do you mean not making out of Amsterdam alive. Is it all gonna blow apart? And I wonder what will be the catalyst for it to all blow apart.

My guess is it's all gonna blow apart. I would guess that things are not going to stay so copacetic.

It's a cast trip. God knows these cast trips, I tell you.

Yeah. So I think we have a lot to come when it comes to this group of ladies in Amsterdam.

I think she's wishy washy and it bugs me. And then it also. You can't always be on. You can't always play the middle.

You have to take a position. And if you're always going to play the middle, then I think it starts. It starts weighing on you. Well, but maybe she's not going to, because I think Jen's first seat.

I don't know. Do you think that because Gretchen's been involved in a lot of the drama, she should have been more forward, even though she's just a friend of.

No, I think that's where they put the friends.

Yeah.

Even though she worked a lot, I think that's just kind of how it goes. I mean, I don't know. I'm speculating. Like, I've been on it 10 years. I don't fucking know.

Yeah, we have no idea, by the way.

Nobody else does either, so don't, don't get cute.

We have zero idea.

Yeah, but you just kind of show up and here's your spot and you go, really?

But would you say Gretchen is working a lot or would you say this is who Gretchen is?

Ah, both. I think that Gretchen is working a lot. I think Gretchen has worked really hard as a friend and came in with a clear agenda. I mean, these notes as to how she's different and then the referring back to the 2017, like, you know, like, talk about doing your homework. She came in prepared.

Yeah.

Which is annoying.

[Teddy Mellencamp]

Yeah, which is annoying.

Which is annoying. And I've consistently said that I would have liked it had Gretchen stayed in the present moment.

Because I would say this makes it like, I don't even know Gretchen.

Well, I don't know the present day Gretchen.

Yeah. Like, I have.

[Erika Jayne]

I know the Gretchen that's like beefing out over 15 years ago of beef.

Yeah, that's what I mean. Like, we haven't gotten to know her.

What she's like, what she's like right now, what she's up to right now.

[Teddy Mellencamp]

Because everything has been this about the past.

[Erika Jayne]

And I just think that that's a real wasted opportunity, especially if she wanted to go forward on the show. You know, it's okay to have like, you know, you need both. You need, hey, this is who I am. Hey, this is my past. But this is how I see myself going forward. Just to constantly point backwards is a one trick pony, in my opinion.

And it gets old.

[Erika Jayne]

It gets old. And if you want to stay on and you want, you have to grow and evolve.

[Teddy Mellencamp]

Yeah.

[Erika Jayne]

And even if that means you're not, you know, in the forefront all the time, at least show Some growth or some ways forward. Which I think was a real missed opportunity on Gretchen's part.

Do you think Gretchen is doing it on her own or because she's been coached by Slade?

[Erika Jayne]

Oh, no. This is a two person situation. And I think it's an older. I think as the housewives evolve, just like however many seasons it's been on, it feels very old school. Housewives playbook. You can point towards the past, but it can't be your whole thing. Yeah, you can say, hey, I feel this way because of X, Y and Z in the past. However, I'm putting my best foot forward or whatever. I think that the key to remaining interesting and evolving is evolving. Even if you're softer side or more vulnerable side, you don't always have to be on it. Yeah, on it 100% of the time. But then. But it's also. Oh, you didn't do anything. Well, yeah, I did. I was growing. Yeah, I did. I was letting things go. Yeah, I did. I was looking at things differently. But then again, you can just always play to the cheap seats, which a lot of people do.

Yeah.

And I have a list. I got a list and I'm fucking good at this.
