Erika Jayne
And hey, I am Erika Jayne.
Teddy Mellencamp
Erika Jayne. You've had a busy weekend.
Erika Jayne
Yes. I was with Alex Cooper, Call her Daddy, at the Unwell weekend in Las Vegas. I had the best time. I hosted the show second night.
Teddy Mellencamp
Oh, that's so great. How was it?
Erika Jayne
It was good. She is number one, really nice, and took the best care of me and everyone else there, and she's built this really impressive community. The whole thing was just really well done. So shout out to Alex Cooper, everybody, at the Unwell family. Thank you for being so kind to me. I had the best time. It was really good.
Teddy Mellencamp
Oh, I love that. Were you there the day that DJ Meredith Marks was there?
Erika Jayne
I saw Meredith. I think that my show was on Saturday. Her show was on Friday.
Teddy Mellencamp
Her show was on Friday.
Erika Jayne
Yeah.
Teddy Mellencamp
And then am I allowed to bring up a little nugget that you just shared with me?
Erika Jayne
Yeah, you are.
Teddy Mellencamp
Okay, so tell me. I just saw a little snake.
Erika Jayne
Yeah. I'm coming out of DJ retirement myself, so I'm gonna start back. You know what you saw? Well, you did Coachella. Remember when I DJed to Coachella? But I also did, like, the Moschino show the year before, so. And you know, my first husband was a dj.
Teddy Mellencamp
Oh, right.
Erika Jayne
That's right. So, I mean, it's been in my blood for a long time, and I decided, fuck it, let's do it.
Teddy Mellencamp
Let's do it again.
Erika Jayne
Let's do it again. So I'm excited. Yeah, I'm putting my stuff together now, brushing up, because, you know, you gotta do it. Right. And there you go.
Teddy Mellencamp
That's so fun. When do you think it'll start?
Erika Jayne
Soon. I think we may have our first gig before the end of the year. Really? Yeah. I mean, I'm still. Look, I'm putting together my list possibly. I mean, there's a couple different options here. There's a few different Options. But of course I'll let you know. Yeah, yeah, of course I'll let you know. You can come by for 5, 10 minutes.
Teddy Mellencamp
We were laughing. Cause the other day.
Erika Jayne
Yeah. Come by for 5, 10 minutes at the gig. You know, she's like, oh, yeah, at the gig. Oh, yeah.
Teddy Mellencamp
Well, I mean, I miss you saying that.
Erika Jayne
Well, come by because, you know, who knows how long she want to stay. I mean, you know, at the.
Teddy Mellencamp
I can sure stay more than five, ten minutes.
Erika Jayne
Right. I mean, you know, it's going to be loud and really loud. So whatever. It's clubbing.
Teddy Mellencamp
You crack me up.
Erika Jayne
I was actually really inspired because we went to the opening of the marquee, reopened Unwell, had their after party at one of the after parties at Marquis. And they've done a beautiful reopening. Shout out to Marquis at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. Stunning. Like the club, it's like clubbing is back. I feel.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
I feel as if dance music is back. I mean, it never really left, but my love for dance music has returned and it's nice to get out there and have some fun.
Teddy Mellencamp
That's cool. I like it. I like it. I'm proud of you.
Erika Jayne
Thank you, babes.
Teddy Mellencamp
You're always like, it's really an inspiration because you're always working on the next thing.
Erika Jayne
I think it's important for my brain. It's just how my personality works. I need to be busy. I enjoy creating and this is something that I've always loved and I've always done.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. If you had to pick your favorite way of performing, would you say it's DJing or singing?
Erika Jayne
No, like being on Broadway or my own show. My own Erika Jayne show. Like the one in London for Mighty Hoopla. Yeah. I mean, I love to dj, but you're playing other people's records and you're hyping a crowd up, but when you're doing your own show, it's like you're doing your own show.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
You know, that's a different. That's a different relationship with an audience than standing behind decks and showing a.
Teddy Mellencamp
Different type of vulnerability. Yeah.
Erika Jayne
And just really like throwing your entire body and soul into it.
Teddy Mellencamp
Are you missing Broadway at all?
Erika Jayne
A little bit, yeah. A little bit. Yeah. I had a conversation the other day about possibly going back.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, that's what I was thinking.
Erika Jayne
Yeah. And. But you know, it's a real commitment, which is great, but it takes a lot out of you. But it's so fucking worth it.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
You know, it's fucking worth it at.
Teddy Mellencamp
The End of the day, it's pretty amazing.
Erika Jayne
The end of the day, you have to check these things off.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, there's. There's a lot of stuff going on right now. And then, you know, we'll reconvene when we get to BravoCon.
Erika Jayne
Oh, God. Are you going?
Teddy Mellencamp
Yes. Yep. I think two panels. I know. I'm gonna need you.
Erika Jayne
Okay, that's fine. I'm gonna need you. I don't know who's helping who. You know, that is a. To Everybody that's listening, BravoCon is great. I mean, it's great for the audience, and it's a great way for everyone at Bravo to say thank you and give FaceTime to all of those that support everyone on Bravo. But it is a hard schedule for four days.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
It is a very, very demanding schedule. And I do shows.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
But there's something about that in person feel, you know, that's. It's.
Teddy Mellencamp
It's demanding and meeting so many, many people.
Erika Jayne
That's what I'm talking about. The energy of so many people and.
Teddy Mellencamp
Being on for so long.
Erika Jayne
Yes.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. It's a lot.
Erika Jayne
It's a lot. But I'm sure Bravo makes the killing.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. And I think. And it is a fun way for all the housewives to kind of meet each other that haven't met before or to see people that you've gotten along with. And I always enjoy that.
Erika Jayne
I enjoy that too. Because a lot of the people I don't know from other shows.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
And it's nice to connect with them and say hello. I mean. And a lot of us other housewives, we don't know each other.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
So.
Teddy Mellencamp
And without this pod, I wouldn't probably watch all of the different franchises, but now that I know every single franchise, I'm like, okay, do I walk in and I'm. I'm high, like, happy yourself, or am I like, oh, this person probably hates me?
Erika Jayne
So what? That's part of the game. They know what the deal is. How about the Salt Lake Girls getting the COVID of what is it us or something?
Teddy Mellencamp
I know, but it was from the Vanity. From the original Vanity Fair, Desperate Housewives.
Erika Jayne
That's fine. I think it's great for them. I was with Heather Gay at the Unwell Weekend. We had a nice moment together. She was really sweet. I've never really had that kind of in person facetime with her. But they're doing really well. Yeah, that show's doing really well. Good for them.
Teddy Mellencamp
I mean, you wouldn't even believe it. Like, when you're watching that show.
Erika Jayne
I've never watched a show, but I know you've always been, like, a really good fan.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. Like, I'm.
Erika Jayne
They deliver.
Teddy Mellencamp
They deliver, and then they move on, and then it's something else. And I mean it. They.
Erika Jayne
They could be the strongest Housewives franchise.
Teddy Mellencamp
They could be right now.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Yeah, Sure.
Teddy Mellencamp
I would say.
Erika Jayne
Yeah.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yep.
Erika Jayne
That's fair to say.
Teddy Mellencamp
I think, you know, they. They. They put in the work and also.
Erika Jayne
But the casting is right. They have fun. The casting is right.
Teddy Mellencamp
They have fun. And I think that's the part that's missing from so many of these franchises. Having fun.
Erika Jayne
Yeah.
Teddy Mellencamp
Like, yes, These. These women fight. But then they always go back to, like, laughing, partying, doing whatever, and I think that's where a lot of the other places they. They clock in and they clock out.
Erika Jayne
Yeah. They get it wrong.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
I listen, and I'm on a show. I agree.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
I agree. I agree. All right. Real Housewives of Orange county, season 19. Wow. Episode 15. Take it away.
Teddy Mellencamp
So Shannon hosts a lunch for Jen. Gretchen arrives first. Shannon says the girls think Gretchen acts like Tamara.
Erika Jayne
Oh, I can see that. That was actually. I liked Shannon saying this.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. And if she doesn't stoop to her level, no one will say that. Gretchen has a list of points of reasons why she's not like Tamara.
Erika Jayne
So this looks prepared. Like, have you. Yeah, she worked on this for a while. Is this a. Yeah, it's really prepared.
Teddy Mellencamp
And then when they go to her confessional, she has it written out and.
Erika Jayne
Something on the bottom on her phone.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. She says, I don't have a. These are the reasons why she says she's not like Tamara. Meanwhile, doing this makes you worse.
Erika Jayne
Worse. Like, girl, come on. To do this.
Teddy Mellencamp
She says, especially her first one. I don't have a child calling me a manipulator and a liar.
Erika Jayne
Not yet. She's too little.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
Your day is coming. Your day is coming. It happens to all of us. I'm not just saying you.
Teddy Mellencamp
I haven't been sued and lost because of my lies, then almost sued again for another lie. She's talking about the Jimbolino and the.
Erika Jayne
Ryan of it can happen to you too. It's just not yet. I'm telling you.
Teddy Mellencamp
I know. Quit speaking in absolutes.
Erika Jayne
Right.
Teddy Mellencamp
I didn't reach out to Tamara's ex, try to get dirt on her, but you know what? She's saying something that I. I don't think is necessarily true.
Erika Jayne
Oh, you mean about the recording?
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
Yeah. I'm not profiting from people's Pain. Her podcast. You are because you're on the show. So you're getting paid to be on the show. We all profit off each other's pain. Yeah. And it's part of the gig.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. I'm not harming or constantly hurting my friends.
Erika Jayne
I don't know about that.
Teddy Mellencamp
We don't know. We haven't really seen you. Because the one time that you were hanging out with your friends is when you were talking about Tamara.
Erika Jayne
Oh, you mean at the sleepover.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. So I don't. I don't really know. And then other than that, I've just been seeing her yelling a lot.
Erika Jayne
Well, she came in with something in mind and she stuck to the plan. I'm not disclosing information my friends asked me not to talk about. Like she did with Shannon and her dad.
Teddy Mellencamp
Isn't that what this whole season is about? The things that she's disclosed about? I mean, I hate to keep saying about Tamara, but that's what she's doing every single time.
Erika Jayne
I wish we could talk about something else other than Tamara. I know, and that's no shade to Tamara, but I'm just tired of talking about Tamara.
Teddy Mellencamp
But it's exactly what she's doing. She's creating this. She's creating all this discussion about.
Erika Jayne
I'm telling you, like I said this a few weeks ago. How cool would it have been if she'd have come in and had no grudge and they could have gotten along at least for a couple episodes, and then blow out over something present not 17 years ago.
Teddy Mellencamp
Correct.
Erika Jayne
Nobody. I don't even remember 17 hours ago.
Teddy Mellencamp
Her next one is, I don't have exes coming forward to publicly say I'm a liar and a cheater.
Erika Jayne
Well, honey, you ain't living well.
Teddy Mellencamp
And I feel like that might also not fully be true. Yeah, I mean, her ex passed away, so the one that she had all the, like, oh, rumors and drama with on the show.
Erika Jayne
Well, we're gonna give him a pass because he's gone on.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yep. I don't call or DM bloggers and try to get them to post horrible things about my castmates. Oh, Gretchers. Gretchers.
Erika Jayne
I thought you hated that. I know. Gretchers.
Teddy Mellencamp
Crutchers. You lose me with the first one. I think it's gross. The first one? I don't have a child calling me a manipulator and a liar.
Erika Jayne
Not yet. I'm telling you, your daughter's young. You're going to hear those words. All of us parents get it. It's Just a matter of time, love. And that's no shade to anybody because we all get it as, you know, parenting. How do you, how do you like that parenting of three children?
Teddy Mellencamp
You know, it's, it's non stop. Slate was mad at me the other.
Erika Jayne
Day and she called you a manipulator or a liar yet.
Teddy Mellencamp
No, but she said you said we were gonna have a conversation about it. And I said, we did have a conversation. I just said, no, and you don't like my answer. And she slammed that door so fast.
Erika Jayne
I hope you broke that door down.
Teddy Mellencamp
I was like, I opened the door. I go, if you have an attitude about this one more time, this is being taken away. And it's something that's important to her.
Erika Jayne
Good.
Teddy Mellencamp
She was like.
Erika Jayne
Right? Yeah.
Teddy Mellencamp
And I was like, yeah, we. I realize that you're becoming a teenager and you're about to go through the change or whatever.
Erika Jayne
Yes. The first change.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. But you're gonna need to cool.
Erika Jayne
You're gonna have to stop all that. Yeah.
Teddy Mellencamp
Because it's hard. You know, once they become teenagers, it's a whole different ball game because then the entire world revolves around their plans and what they want. And I'm like, what she's mad at me about is I said that she could go to a Halloween party the night before Halloween with all of her friends, but I said, on Halloween you're going to spend it home with me. And like we, we go to the same Halloween party every year.
Erika Jayne
Yeah.
Teddy Mellencamp
And I'm like, with all the kids, everybody goes, this is what happens. You have friends there, we have family there. Like we have. Yeah, that's what we're doing.
Erika Jayne
And she didn't want to do that.
Teddy Mellencamp
And she wanted to go to the other party.
Erika Jayne
Well, this is going to become a, you know, more increasingly thing as she grows older. But I think that, you know, people don't know this, but Teddy, she's a very calm parent. And then she will click out on them and be really. You don't let those kids get away with shit.
Teddy Mellencamp
No Shit. No.
Erika Jayne
She. You're very nice. And then you're like, okay, that's enough. And you're very tough.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
Like you, you will not act like that. I've seen it in person. I was like, ah, yeah.
Teddy Mellencamp
We won't, we won't. We won't be behaving this way. You won't be talking.
Erika Jayne
Yeah. You will not be talking like that.
Teddy Mellencamp
No.
Erika Jayne
No.
Teddy Mellencamp
Anywho. Then Shannon asked everyone to go around the table and give Jen their marriage.
Erika Jayne
Advice, which I thought is kind of fun.
Teddy Mellencamp
I mean, what do you feel about the way Shannon was at the beginning when she was kind of flipping out about the. The stemware?
Erika Jayne
Listen, I'd rather see somebody flip out about stemware than drag each other through the mud about other shit. Like, flipping out about stemware is. Is a housewives thing that I. I welcome, as opposed to hurting each other's feelings so deeply. Does that make sense?
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, I. I agree.
Erika Jayne
You're right.
Teddy Mellencamp
You're right on that.
Erika Jayne
Remember, like in the Dorit Champagne thing? Like, I'd rather do that than all the other stuff that we've seen. And.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
You know, I'd rather like silly fights.
Teddy Mellencamp
Than really digging deep.
Erika Jayne
Yeah. Digging deep and just kind of hurting.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. Because she's, you know, she's pretty worked up about it. She seems very excited about the party.
Erika Jayne
Jen didn't seem that excited, and I don't know if that was being ungrateful or just not into it or both or just.
Teddy Mellencamp
Or just doesn't have a date yet, and so she feels like it's strange to have a wedding party.
Erika Jayne
You know what I say, though? If somebody's gonna throw you a party, just say thanks and have a good time.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. Say thanks, have a good time. Clearly, they spend a lot of money on it.
Erika Jayne
Yeah. Say thank you. I wouldn't. Yeah, just be gracious all the time.
Teddy Mellencamp
Because she knows. And I remember when she served one croissant at the beach party. These parties are expensive.
Erika Jayne
Yes, they are.
Teddy Mellencamp
And production is not paying for it.
Erika Jayne
No, no. And I saw something on TikTok. Maybe I shouldn't even bring this up, but I see, like, these people that say that they're, quote, ex showrunners, and they are talking about behind the scenes things about what Bravo pays for and like that. That's not true.
Teddy Mellencamp
It's not true. They don't.
Erika Jayne
Not true.
Teddy Mellencamp
There may be a certain amount that they.
Erika Jayne
Girl. And it ain't.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
It's so get it together.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. So you.
Erika Jayne
Ain't nobody paying for that white party.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
Then they are not writing those checks.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yep. Nope. They are not doing that. But when Shannon asks everyone to go around the table, Tamara says, your second marriage, you know what to do. You know what not to do.
Erika Jayne
I agree. I agree. I mean, I think if, you know, your second marriage is something that, you know, thinking about the first self reflection, hey, maybe I don't want to do whatever again.
Teddy Mellencamp
Right. But then you can make new mistakes beyond.
Erika Jayne
Yeah, we're always gonna make mistakes.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
I think that marriage or Humans or any type of relationship, you're always gonna make mistakes. It's just. Hey, I'm not gonna do that one again.
Teddy Mellencamp
Right.
Erika Jayne
You're gonna have your own unique set of problems with this marriage.
Teddy Mellencamp
Shannon says communication is key, obviously.
Erika Jayne
Yeah.
Teddy Mellencamp
I didn't need to know that John Jansen farted under the covers.
Erika Jayne
I don't need. I don't. I don't like that shit. Do you fart in front of Edwin?
Teddy Mellencamp
I mean, now.
Erika Jayne
Well, I bet you. I bet you'd have a blowout in front of him.
Teddy Mellencamp
Just.
Erika Jayne
Just. Just because. How about this? How do you feel about that?
Charlotte
Sorry.
Erika Jayne
I hate to be such a teenager, but, you know.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. Like I would say, there are probably times in the 16 years one way I've slipped out.
Erika Jayne
Yeah. But not on purpose.
Teddy Mellencamp
Not on purpose.
Erika Jayne
Yeah. No. That's why I like having two bathrooms.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
Two separate bathrooms. I go over here, you go over there. You know, if accidents happen, that's one thing. But not on purpose.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. But then as Shannon's talking about communication is key, somebody asked her. I forget who. Are you talking about with John? Are you talking about with your. With David?
Erika Jayne
I think she said both. Right.
Teddy Mellencamp
And then she said both.
Erika Jayne
Both.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
Yeah, both.
Teddy Mellencamp
So she considers her relationship with John like a marriage?
Erika Jayne
Well, I mean, let's not go that far. It was an important relationship. I don't know if it was a, quote, marriage, but it definitely was enough to get upset about and have all these problems with. So why not? You know, got legal problems, lawsuits. That's what I'm saying. That's a marriage without be. Having. Being married. So true. You know, it's the same as a pain in the ass as a marriage.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yep. Gina tells her not to lose herself and to have your person be a compliment to your life. I think that's a really good piece of advice.
Erika Jayne
Very good. And Emily says, everyone has a person. And I agree with that. I mean, but you can have more.
Teddy Mellencamp
More than one person.
Erika Jayne
More than one person in a lifetime.
Teddy Mellencamp
I think so, too.
Erika Jayne
Yeah. 100%.
Teddy Mellencamp
Then Gretchen says faith is an important part in her relationship.
Erika Jayne
Yeah. I mean, I'm not going to attack anyone's faith. I. If that is true. I mean, that is true for her. That's great. I mean, whatever.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. And then Heather says people will judge and make comments about you. Let them.
Erika Jayne
You have to.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
They're all. These are like, whose advice would you take most seriously? They're all good things here. I mean, you know, nobody's giving stupid advice.
Teddy Mellencamp
Whose advice would you take the most.
Erika Jayne
Seriously, not to lose yourself.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. I think that.
Erika Jayne
Have the person be a compliment to your life. I think that a lot of women do that. And we do it just naturally. We're naturally built to, you know, take care of the family and take care of the husband and kind of put our needs or our lives second. And I think that that's a super important one.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, I agree.
Erika Jayne
Just to remind everybody out there to, you know, make sure that you're. You're taken care of too.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yep. Then we're back to the farts. Because then Emily asked Heather if she farts in front of Terri. She says she doesn't fart.
Erika Jayne
Well, why? Yeah. And I'm down with that answer.
Teddy Mellencamp
You know what doesn't happen that's great. The fact that Shannon is still finding ways to bring up John Jansen, though. Do you find that odd or.
Erika Jayne
No, I think it's just conversation. I didn't put that much value into it.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
It's her last relationship of consequence, so whatever. I don't really, you know, it's not that big of a deal.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. But it makes me a little bit sad.
Erika Jayne
I didn't even take it as that. I just thought it as, like, she.
Teddy Mellencamp
Was just laughing about it.
Erika Jayne
She was just laughing about things that were, you know, in the past. I didn't lean that much into it.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yep. Then the girls are going on a trip to Amsterdam. Heather's parents lived there when she was in college.
Erika Jayne
Kind of cool.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
I mean, that was kind of a cool thing. Heather brings up her dad's ashes and doesn't know where to put them. Okay. So. And then, you know, Terry thinks about bringing it to Amsterdam, where he lived. Here's the thing. I was immediately taken back to Merse in the purse. So I'm just gonna say I was like, are we gonna get into these ashes? And then Heather opens up about her dad and how he was a corporate dad and they didn't have much of a relationship, which, you know, it's pretty common. It's common and it's sad.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
You know, corporate dad.
Teddy Mellencamp
I never heard that phrase.
Erika Jayne
No, but it's a good one.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
I don't know if she made it up or not, but it's a good one.
Teddy Mellencamp
Here's the thing about being a great gift giver. When you find something truly perfect for everyone on your list, you almost don't want to give it away.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
That's what happened with my quints. Order everything so soft and well made. I'm seriously tempted to keep all of it for myself.
Teddy Mellencamp
Quince pretty much has your whole list covered. Mongolian cashmere sweaters for $50 when you'd normally pay $200 or more, the kind you'll wear on repeat.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Then there's the denim that goes with everything. Silk tops and skirts for when you need to look put together. Cashmere beanies and scarves and down jackets that actually keep you warm.
Teddy Mellencamp
The Italian wool coats absolute top of my list. They look designer and are made with premium materials. But like everything at Quint's, the price won't make you we're talking way less than other brands charge.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
By working directly with trusted factories that maintain high standards for both craftsmanship and ethical practices, and by cutting out the middleman and markups, Quince is able to pass those savings straight to you.
Teddy Mellencamp

Charlotte
Before all the algorithm fed blah and the endless sea of dupes, shopping used to feel more fun. But here's a confession. Are you a Charlotte listeners? You can find that fun feeling again on ebay. Because on ebay you it's not just shopping, it's a full on fashion pursuit. And when you find the thing that adrenaline hit is real. I went on to ebay to look for a super special vintage jacket for Charlotte to wear to the gallery and I found the most amazing Mugler jacket and the costume department loved it and it felt so good and I still have it at home. Like when you score that rare Adidas collab that's lived on your mood board or the Dior saddle bag that you ripped right out of a magazine in 2007 and never got over. Yeah, those. It's about the thrill and the pursuit of finding those pieces that feel like you. There's always more to Discover. Ebay has millions of pre loved finds from hundreds of brands backed by ebay. Authenticity guarantee. EBay. Things people love.
Teddy Mellencamp
They're all sitting around, you know, at this bridal, not bridal shower and they're like, we should go on a trip. And they're like, someone wore somewhere warm somewhere there some. And then someone's like, Amsterdam.
Erika Jayne
Magically, they're in Amsterdam. I'm not going to say a word on this. I'm contractually bound not to, so. But it's magic.
Teddy Mellencamp
Whose trip is this, by the way?
Erika Jayne
It felt. Honestly, it kind of felt like Shannon's and then it kind of felt like Heather had a piece of it. Like I, you know, I used to go there in college. So, you know, I mean, that's all I can say.
Teddy Mellencamp
Then Tam and Eddie go to dinner. Tamara gets annoyed with how Eddie is chewing.
Erika Jayne
Oh, marriage.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, that's marriage.
Erika Jayne
That's marriage.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yep. Tamara says she thinks the problem in their marriage is that they don't communicate. And then it all explodes.
Erika Jayne
Eddie says the way she talks to him sets him off. And usually she's drunk and she comes at him. Yeah, I mean, I get it. He's valid. He has his point of view.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. Like if I think he's saying, you.
Erika Jayne
Know, I have seen him show remarkable control. More so than any man I've been married to would have. So, Eddie. Yeah. I mean, I think that you've handled yourself in some situations. I know Mr. Girardi would have fucking leveled me at home, I'll tell you that.
Teddy Mellencamp
Well, she asked if she. If he thinks she has a drinking problem. And Eddie says for their relationship purposes, she shouldn't drink and just come to him.
Erika Jayne
I agree.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
Nothing good is with alcohol. I mean, I just. It just doesn't. Liquor and personal relationships like that, home just. It's not good. It does not work out well for anybody. And I'm not just saying you so don't get offended. I just say as a full on blanket statement, it's not good.
Teddy Mellencamp
When we're unhappy and we're drinking, it's bad. It's bad.
Erika Jayne
It's bad for everybody.
Teddy Mellencamp
When we're bad and we're drinking, it's bad. You know, like, and it just.
Erika Jayne
There's a limit to drinking. Like, there's a limit to everything. Like one drink, two drinks, cute. Three. I start to become an asshole.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
And I cannot do that anymore.
Teddy Mellencamp
I know. And then I feel like death the next day.
Erika Jayne
Yeah. It's just. Is anybody really drinking?
Teddy Mellencamp
I enjoy like one or two drinks.
Erika Jayne
Yes. That's my max.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
I had two drinks over the weekend and that was it.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
Because I just don't. I want to do other things.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
You know, I don't want to wake up in the morning and feel like.
Teddy Mellencamp
Feel terrible.
Erika Jayne
Just like, ugh.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. But I think that this conversation is a lot of couples. I think, you know, that you.
Erika Jayne
Many couples.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. When you.
Erika Jayne
When alcohol gets involved, it's never. It can start out fun, and it usually ends up in a. In, like, a bit bickering or even sometimes a snarl. Like, I. I just don't like myself on liquor like this in a. In a relationship.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. Then they all go to Amsterdam.
Erika Jayne
Amazing. Like, all of a sudden, we arrived in Amsterdam. How did this happen? The magic of tv.
Teddy Mellencamp
There's no mention of no Katie. Really?
Erika Jayne
Erased. I told you. Erased from the record. Just like.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, no mention of no Katie. They arrive in Amsterdam and they go on a boat in the canal.
Erika Jayne
Typical.
Teddy Mellencamp
The outfits.
Erika Jayne
Yeah. So what? They were dressed like. And I'm down for it, but it was, like, the day. Were they going from day to night?
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, Because I think they all wore the same thing to dinner.
Erika Jayne
Yeah. But it. Like, Emily with the cutouts during the day. Bold.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
Somebody with the lace bodysuit with the thong. Bold. I mean, I'm giving it to you guys. Like, I was like, wow, could we. Wow. Somebody said, you better. We got one outfit for the entire thing. And they said, let me put on my nightwear.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, they. They said, let me put on my nightwear. And somebody even said, I forget. Which. Maybe it was Jen. Like, I think they think we're street walkers.
Erika Jayne
Good. Good. I mean, I love it.
Teddy Mellencamp
Then Emily asks Shannon if she thinks Tamara was being shady when she brought up her dad's drinking. And Shannon thought it was a dig, and she's not able to forgive her.
Erika Jayne
I think it is a dig. I think it's better to get over it, you know? And I know that I said in a pod before, like, you can say, you know, I can say, I, you know, things about my dad, but you can't. So. But I think you can get over it. I think there's, you know, worse.
Teddy Mellencamp
Tamara says she can apologize, but Shannon can't. Shannon brings up being called a C word multiple times at the dinner table, and Tamara says, are you a C word? How would you have responded to Tamara's question?
Erika Jayne
No, Tamara, I'm not a. I'm a. Right. So there you go. I mean, you know, I would have.
Teddy Mellencamp
Just said, we all are and moved on.
Erika Jayne
Yeah, we're all.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
And, you know, it's interesting how that word is. So what is the word I'm looking for? It's like, such a big deal here in the States, but, like, if you go to the uk, everybody's calling each other.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
You know, but whatever.
Teddy Mellencamp
I mean, they are in Amsterdam.
Erika Jayne
Close enough for me.
Teddy Mellencamp
Close enough.
Erika Jayne
But then again, you know.
Teddy Mellencamp
Emily, Tamara and Jen go to a store to decorate a penis.
Erika Jayne
Interesting.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. Emily asked Jen about her vagina. Jen says it's healed up nicely and now it's fine and she's good to go.
Erika Jayne
Yeah.
Teddy Mellencamp
Great.
Erika Jayne
I mean, I think that's wonderful. She had her pelvic floor fixed.
Teddy Mellencamp
Her pelvic floor fixed. And then she said she had some things cut off the front. She had all the things.
Erika Jayne
All the things.
Teddy Mellencamp
And now she's good to go back to having good sex.
Erika Jayne
That's great. We love a rejuvenated queen.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yep. Get up.
Erika Jayne
Get that vag rolling. Well, you're about to get married. I mean, you're going to be using it more than you probably want.
Teddy Mellencamp
More than you are now.
Erika Jayne
More than you are now. Because it's about keeping it together.
Teddy Mellencamp
Then Heather brings up boundaries and how Jen is still close with Alexis. Okay, so this just to give you a little backstory, Heather bringing up how Jen is still close with Alexis is a little bit of a thing right now because apparently Alexis also invited Heather to her wedding.
Erika Jayne
Yeah. But Heather declined to go.
Teddy Mellencamp
But Heather's original response on why she declined was, it's my daughter's thing. My daughter has something at school. But then when she went on Watch what Happens Live, she says she added something else.
Erika Jayne
Oh, shit.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. She said, I had my daughter's thing and I'm not really that close with them as a couple.
Erika Jayne
Ooh. Yeah. Okay, well. And so it's putting herself at distance with Alexis.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yes. And then Jen says she gotta save the date, but has not been invited.
Erika Jayne
What does that mean? If you gotta save the date but then didn't get invited?
Teddy Mellencamp
Well, I know what that means. Cause I just had Alexis on the pod. So Alexis ended up disinviting Jen because. Or not actually sending her an invite because she started pulling away from her.
Erika Jayne
Okay, well, look, these things happen. I mean, it's not. Y'. All. What did you expect? I mean, really?
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, but Jen, we literally see you tell Shannon you will not go to the wedding because of her.
Erika Jayne
Yeah, I'm not gonna make promises like that.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, you should go.
Erika Jayne
Not go to the wedding because of you. Not because of someone else.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. So now it's just back to the wishy washiness.
Erika Jayne
Yeah.
Teddy Mellencamp
We're just back to wishy washy. Then Emily feels Jen wasn't into her bridal lunch. Jen says it's not her thing, but it's.
Erika Jayne
You pretend like it's your thing.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
Because someone is going above and beyond for you. Pretend. Yeah. You know, if it's not your thing, you keep that to yourself. And I'm not saying on camera.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
You know, like, it's not gonna. It's not gonna, you know. You do realize that by you saying that, it's gonna become a thing, right? Like. Yeah, you do realize that.
Teddy Mellencamp
Well, then Tamara thinks Shannon threw the bridal shower for herself to get back at Tamara by being close with Jen.
Erika Jayne
Yeah. It's for the show. It's not that deep.
Teddy Mellencamp
You think it's not that deep.
Erika Jayne
It's not that deep.
Teddy Mellencamp
Then Gretchen tells the girls that with Tamara, fighting for fire with fire is the best way to handle it. She thinks Tamara only responds to strength.
Erika Jayne
She could be right, you know, what do you think? I mean, you know Tamara.
Teddy Mellencamp
Well, I don't think fighting fire with fire is the best route with Tamara. Cause I think she's gonna keep going, you know?
Erika Jayne
Yeah. She doesn't. She'll just keep going.
Teddy Mellencamp
She'll keep going. I think the best way for me at least. We've only had one argument that was like, contentious.
Erika Jayne
Yeah.
Teddy Mellencamp
Contentious. And I just kind of had to, like. Even though I wanted to fix it right away.
Erika Jayne
Yeah. I had to let it stay.
Teddy Mellencamp
I had to let it sit there for a minute and then she got over it.
Erika Jayne
Okay.
Teddy Mellencamp
And I apologized and she apologized and then it was done. But it was like, give her a second of space to let her kind of.
Erika Jayne
Right. Process and not be reactive.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
Because that's the thing.
Teddy Mellencamp
If you're reactive and then you're fighting somebody with fire.
Erika Jayne
Yes. I could see where that would escalate the situation.
Teddy Mellencamp
That would escalate. And then they go out to dinner and Shannon ate a space cake and was high.
Erika Jayne
But we could get high here in California. Like, is the weed that much better in Amsterdam?

Do you think Shanna was playing up that she was more high than she actually was? Like, when she was like getting down under the table to try to find her barrette and all those kind of things?
Erika Jayne
Well, we have seen her bring pots and pans to stuff, but she did cook.
Teddy Mellencamp
We found out she did cook.
Erika Jayne
Okay, here's the thing. I don't eat weed for this reason because I don't know how it's going to hit me. So I can't really say. I don't know. I don't know. I mean, I don't know how much. What is a space cake anyway? So, like a gummy.
Teddy Mellencamp
No. So apparently they had either. I think they said cookies or cupcakes.
Erika Jayne
But what's in it? Just cannabis or is it hash or what is a space cake?
Teddy Mellencamp
I don't know.
Erika Jayne
I mean, I don't want to go to space.
Teddy Mellencamp
Something that makes you spacey.
Erika Jayne
Maybe more spacey.
Teddy Mellencamp
More spacey. But then Tamara goes under the table to get Shannon's hair clip. They're all getting along and they make it out of. And it makes it look like they make it out of Amsterdam alive.
Erika Jayne
Well, I think that getting high is if you're. Yeah. I mean, I'm agreeable when I'm not drinking. Yeah, but what do you mean not making out of Amsterdam alive. Is it all gonna blow apart? And I wonder what will be the catalyst for it to all blow apart.
Teddy Mellencamp
My guess is it's all gonna blow apart. I would guess that things are not going to stay so copacetic.
Erika Jayne
It's a cast trip. God knows these cast trips, I tell you.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. So I think we have a lot to come when it comes to this group of ladies in Amsterdam.
Erika Jayne
Did you enjoy this episode? I think it's a great setup for what may be coming.
Teddy Mellencamp
I think it's a good setup for what's maybe coming. I think it was a little bit of a filler episode.
Erika Jayne
Well, you have to have those.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
Especially when you have to have the builds. You know, you can't always have.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, yeah. But I think we're not the. The. It's so focused on Tamara and Gretchen.
Erika Jayne
Yeah. I'm a little over it.
Teddy Mellencamp
I'm a little over that.
Erika Jayne
Like, I want more of other cast members.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. I want more things.
Erika Jayne
I think you want to see more. I think if I were to guess and you can tell me if I'm totally wrong, I think that you maybe knowing your personality, would like to see Jen called out on her behavior a little more. Yeah, I thought so.
Teddy Mellencamp
I would.
Erika Jayne
Yeah. I think that you think she's wishy washy. I know where you're going.
Teddy Mellencamp
I think she's wishy washy and it bugs me. And then it also. You can't always be on. You can't always play the middle.
Erika Jayne
Yep. You have to take a position.
Teddy Mellencamp
You have to take a position. And if you're always going to play the middle, then I think it starts. It starts weighing on you. Well, but maybe she's not going to, because I think Jen's first seat.
Erika Jayne
Well, what happened between. Well, how do you get first seat? Be in the middle.
Teddy Mellencamp
I know, that's what I mean. So we. Who knows what's.
Erika Jayne
Not that you compete for first seat because it means you had a fucking shitty time as somebody who had the first seat. Let me. I tell you, that was like, awful.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. So, I mean, we don't. Of course, we don't necessarily know what a first seat means, but a first seat means.
Erika Jayne
Usually means you get mixed up in it.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
You've got a lot of explaining to do.
Teddy Mellencamp
And so far she hasn't.
Erika Jayne
No, so far. If I were to look at that, I would say. So what?
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
Well, Tamara's probably. Tamara has the other first seat on the other side.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yes.
Erika Jayne
Well, duh.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, the first seat. So one side is Tamara, Gina, Heather, Katie.
Erika Jayne
Okay.
Teddy Mellencamp
And then the other side is Jen.
Erika Jayne
Emily, Shannon, and Gretchen.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, I know. It's. It's a weird lineup, which leads me to believe things are going to be changing for us.
Erika Jayne
Well, they need to, I guess. Are they going to get mad? Like, what's happening here? Does somebody have a complete breakdown?
Teddy Mellencamp
I don't know. Do you think that because Gretchen's been involved in a lot of the drama, she should have been more forward, even though she's just a friend of.
Erika Jayne
No, I think that's where they put the friends.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
Even though she worked a lot, I think that's just kind of how it goes. I mean, I don't know. I'm speculating. Like, I've been on it 10 years. I don't fucking know.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, we have no idea, by the way.
Erika Jayne
Nobody else does either, so don't, don't get cute.
Teddy Mellencamp
We have zero idea.
Erika Jayne
Yeah, but you just kind of show up and here's your spot and you go, really?
Teddy Mellencamp
But would you say Gretchen is working a lot or would you say this is who Gretchen is?
Erika Jayne
Ah, both. I think that Gretchen is working a lot. I think Gretchen has worked really hard as a friend and came in with a clear agenda. I mean, these notes as to how she's different and then the referring back to the 2017, like, you know, like, talk about doing your homework. She came in prepared.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
Which is annoying.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, which is annoying.
Erika Jayne
Which is annoying. And I've consistently said that I would have liked it had Gretchen stayed in the present moment.
Teddy Mellencamp
Because I would say this makes it like, I don't even know Gretchen.
Erika Jayne
Well, I don't know the present day Gretchen.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. Like, I have.
Erika Jayne
I know the Gretchen that's like beefing out over 15 years ago of beef.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, that's what I mean. Like, we haven't gotten to know her.
Erika Jayne
What she's like, what she's like right now, what she's up to right now.
Teddy Mellencamp
Because everything has been this about the past.
Erika Jayne
And I just think that that's a real wasted opportunity, especially if she wanted to go forward on the show. You know, it's okay to have like, you know, you need both. You need, hey, this is who I am. Hey, this is my past. But this is how I see myself going forward. Just to constantly point backwards is a one trick pony, in my opinion.
Teddy Mellencamp
And it gets old.
Erika Jayne
It gets old. And if you want to stay on and you want, you have to grow and evolve.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
And even if that means you're not, you know, in the forefront all the time, at least show Some growth or some ways forward. Which I think was a real missed opportunity on Gretchen's part.
Teddy Mellencamp
Do you think Gretchen is doing it on her own or because she's been coached by Slade?
Erika Jayne
Oh, no. This is a two person situation. And I think it's an older. I think as the housewives evolve, just like however many seasons it's been on, it feels very old school. Housewives playbook. You can point towards the past, but it can't be your whole thing. Yeah, you can say, hey, I feel this way because of X, Y and Z in the past. However, I'm putting my best foot forward or whatever. I think that the key to remaining interesting and evolving is evolving. Even if you're softer side or more vulnerable side, you don't always have to be on it. Yeah, on it 100% of the time. But then. But it's also. Oh, you didn't do anything. Well, yeah, I did. I was growing. Yeah, I did. I was letting things go. Yeah, I did. I was looking at things differently. But then again, you can just always play to the cheap seats, which a lot of people do.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erika Jayne
And I have a list. I got a list and I'm fucking good at this.
Teddy Mellencamp
Listen, let's list it out.
Erika Jayne
I will never. I know, but you, you and I probably share a lot of the same.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, we probably share the list a.
Erika Jayne
Lot of the same.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, it's just inner dialogue. Yep. Thanks guys for tuning in to another episode of Diamonds in the Rough. We are back. Do we have two or three more episodes left?
Erika Jayne
I don't know. We have two, I think two. And then we have Reunion.
Teddy Mellencamp
Reunion. Which I would guess it's a three parter, I'm sure.
Erika Jayne
Yeah, I'm sure. Yeah, I'm excited. Listen, once again I've enjoyed doing this show with you. I'm excited to see the next episode.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, me too.
Erika Jayne
And the one after that. So we'll see.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, we'll see what happens.
Erika Jayne
All right, guys, thank you so much for tuning in. And like, I don't know. It's good to see you, Ted.
Teddy Mellencamp
Good to see you too.
Erika Jayne
Thank you.
Teddy Mellencamp
Bye.

This episode dives into the latest on Real Housewives of Orange County (RHOC) Season 19, Episode 15, with Teddi Mellencamp joined by Erika Jayne. The two housewives recap the drama, friendship dynamics, and key moments from the show including Shannon's awkward bridal lunch, Tamra and Eddie’s marital issues, Gretchen’s return, and the cast trip to Amsterdam.
