Welcome to another episode of Diamonds in the Rough with John Mellencamp's daughter, Teddy.
Co-host
And. And I don't have a famous dad. My name is Erika Jayne.
Host 1
How are you, by the way?
Co-host
Tired today? A little tired, yeah, but good, you know?
Host 1
Well, we have a big weekend coming up. Woo. Ooh. You're gonna go.
Co-host
I'm so excited.
Host 1
Yeah, we got a big weekend coming up.
Co-host
Big weekend. Okay, let's go. Season 19 Episode 9 Emily and Gretchen meet for a testosterone shot appointment. I got my hormones two days ago, and it hurts sitting here.
Host 1
So you couldn't play volleyball?
Co-host
No, not for a couple days. It hurts like it hurts. Emily and Gretchen hope that Katie is gone for good after the party. And Emily noticed Tamara and Gretchen hugging at the party. Gretchen tells Emily that Tamara had thanked her for getting the truth from Kiki. And Emily thinks Gretchen and Tamara need to talk at the beach. What do you think?
Host 1
I think that Gretchen and Tam are talking at this point. I know, like, a couple weeks ago I was like, you know what? I want them to squash the beef. But now that I've, like, been more in this, like, Gretchen. Rabbit hole. So Gretchen blames Tamra for the reason why Slade hasn't worked in 10 years. But then, like, I googled Slade. Hold on, let me pull this up.
Co-host
Yeah, she did say that he had lost work because of the bad things that Tamara had said. And if you just Google it, you could see.
Host 1
But, I mean, I googled it and.
Co-host
But what did he do before he came on the show? I'm just. I don't.
Host 1
He was on the. He's been on the show multiple times.
Co-host
Yeah, but what was his.
Host 1
I know four different women.
Co-host
Okay, but. Okay, but what is his. What is his line of income? Like, what does he do for a living?
Host 1
I don't know, because his first season, the first season of Real Housewives of Orange County, I think he worked in. Was it a banking office or real.
Co-host
Estate or Finance or real estate or something.
Host 1
Something like. I don't even remember, but it says Slade Smiley, who earned his 15 minutes of fame on a reality show, the Real Housewives Orange county, was arrested on a Warrant on Friday. Smiley, 38. I mean, this is obviously so old. Was arrested by Costa Mesa police and the 2400 block of Eldon Avenue at about 3pm Smiley, who starred with his ex girlfriend in the Bravo show Date My Ex, Joe Enslave, was later booked in the county jail, not paying child support. Oh, yeah. So, I mean, it's out there on the world Wide Web. I don't think it had anything to do with Tamara. Well, I'm not trying to have Tamra's.
Co-host
Back, but I think. Look, I don't think you're unemployable if you go on one of these shows. Um, I think that going on a show, any reality show, you're up for extra scrutiny. And let's be honest, it's not, you.
Host 1
Know, and if you're not paying your child support, it's gonna come out publicly.
Co-host
Yeah. And then that's how you get in trouble.
Host 1
Yeah.
Co-host
So it certainly adds fuel to the fire. But I don't think it's because of the show that, you know, you're not working.
Host 1
Yeah. Then Jen and. Well, so either way, that's the backstory there. So it kind of, for me, when it comes to Gretch, like, this is at least old beef. Like, I gave old save. It's just too old.
Co-host
It's old. It's so old when no one cares anymore.
Host 1
No one cares.
Co-host
Slade, get a new job or get a job. But it's not, you know, and I'm not being shady to Slade. It's just if this is what's going on, you know. Yeah.
Host 1
I mean, this is years and years ago, and this is what they're holding onto.
Co-host
And I'm not judging. Believe me, I have no room to judge. But, you know, you can get a job if that's the case, we can all get to get jobs, because that's.
Host 1
But in my opinion, that's why he's so invested in this whole story.
Co-host
I think he's been invested in the Housewives franchise, like you said, with multiple women for a very long time. And so it's not just this.
Host 1
I mean, even when you flashback to one of the reunions, Andy, the Andy Cohen one, when he's like. Andy's like, well, I mean, you wouldn't be coming back next season because Joe's not on, and he's like, well, I mean, I'm the one that chose not to come back. And he's like, no, actually, yeah.
Co-host
No, the men. And I've always said this, the men are the accessory to the women. This is a show about women and their relationships rupture and repair and forgiveness and moving on and friendship. Men are simply ornaments here. And that's the way these shows are set up. Yeah, it's a. It's a girl's world.
Host 1
I can say this. Katie did admit to a lot of things. Like, it was a pretty big deal that yesterday she admitted she talked to the Bravo babe.
Co-host
Okay.
Host 1
Remember?
Co-host
So you're getting somewhere.
Host 1
Yeah. So we got somewhere. So she admitted that. I have no idea what she. What her conversation with Kiki Monique was, but I don't. I find it very shocking that Kiki Monique, after all of these years, just found out this story.
Co-host
So you think she's known about it?
Host 1
Well, I mean, I've known about it.
Co-host
Oh, you have?
Host 1
Yeah. Oh, I think anybody that has any sort of eyes that can read gossip.
Co-host
And stuff like that knew about the Gretchen situation.
Host 1
Yeah, knew about the Gretchen situation. Not to mention it was on the show, the naked wasted.
Co-host
Yeah.
Host 1
And then it came out all over the Internet and all over the, what.
Co-host
Can we say, blogger sites or Instagram moments.
Host 1
Instagram stories. It's.
Co-host
I mean, did you see someone gave us shit for talking about this. You two are bloggers. I was like, I'm not a blogger.
Host 1
I'm fine to be a blogger. Just call me a blogger. But I can't type. Well, don't you.
Co-host
I'm actually on this show. Like, I. I don't know. I mean, I don't know. I'm certainly not going to call myself a journalist that gets thrown around that us, our journalistic. We're over here gossiping on the fucking Internet.
Host 1
Yeah. So whatever. Whatever you want to call it. Then Jen and Katie meet for coffee.
Co-host
Katie brought receipts with her and she shows her that. Remember, the lie detector guy is actually paid actors, and she thinks that it was set up by Gina and Emily. I mean, I don't know. I mean, you're supposed to ask the questions. I know. When the Vanderpump thing broke out, we didn't get to ask the questions. They were prepared for her.
Host 1
Yeah, we didn't ask the questions. We didn't even know what happened or was said until after the fact.
Co-host
That's right. Yeah. Paid actors. We brought this up earlier. It looks a little like, is this guy the only guy in town that we go to lie detectors for. And they're not a perfect science, even under the best conditions with the best polygraphers ever.
Host 2
Yeah.
Host 1
And I mean, I think that whether or not Katie is the one that told Kiki, I think Katie did answer honestly when she said, I heard the story that dinner with Gretchen and Jen and everybody like this. And Jen is. Now she's driving me nuts.
Co-host
Yeah. You're not liking Jen right now. And you didn't like her the last time we sat down because you said, why is Katie getting all the heat? Meanwhile, Jen was there too.
Host 1
And Jen, even on the after show the other day, she goes, just. I know I'm flip flopping around about stories, but it's just to show that this is a repetitive action. She goes, well, I mean, who is Joe anyway? And it's like, one, you know exactly who Joe is because you had a problem with Joe being at Heather's party.
Co-host
Yeah.
Host 1
At 2, you know who Joe is because you've talked about her multiple times. And three, and she was at your engagement party.
Co-host
And three, you know who Joe is because you watched the show.
Host 2
Yeah.
Host 1
You have been a fan.
Co-host
So. Yeah, let's not. That's who Joe is.
Host 1
So don't. Let's not keep. That's what bugs me. Just stop pretending that you don't know anything.
Co-host
I don't know who she is, but I told.
Host 1
I mean, I told Katie yesterday. I'm like, jen is no friend to you. She isn't.
Co-host
Well, okay.
Host 1
Do you think so?
Co-host
I don't know. I will say this. You have to, like, say what you mean and mean what you say. It's interesting to me that you found Katie reasonable.
Host 1
Yeah.
Co-host
Because I didn't think you were going to.
Host 1
I thought that I was gonna. Come on. I mean, granted, there are parts of.
Co-host
Her that I said reasonable. I didn't say fabulous.
Host 2
Yeah, yeah.
Host 1
There are parts of her that she pauses when she answers. But I think there's a lot of, like, fear and anxiety she, like, carries. And so she doesn't have that, like, gumption when she comes forward and says something. But I. I didn't. I wasn't like. I was like, I could hang around this person.
Co-host
I'm stunned.
Host 1
I know. I think you could have to.
Co-host
Don't speak for me. Listen, I can't hang around those bitches I was with last night. And I get paid to do that.
Host 1
Yeah, that's true. But I feel like Jen is trying to give this, like. Remember when Jessica Simpson was like, is chicken of the sea? Is it fish?
Co-host
Are we Giving dumb blonde here. Yeah, well, I mean, this is what I don't like. I don't like it when the husbands and I realized, you know, I see Katie's husband giving interviews and shit like that. Like, slayed all these men. Ryan too involved. Too involved. This is a woman show. Let them carry their own weight. Let them have their own fights. Let them do their own thing. You know, texting me 91 1. Like, is that even a thing?
Host 1
Like, do we have a pager?
Co-host
Like, what is this, 91 1? If you call me 91 1, you better be dead.
Host 1
But the amount of times those two men talked, right?
Co-host
Like, it was, they want the orange. I mean, they want the. Hold the orange.
Host 1
At this point, they may as well take one because.
Co-host
And they should just. Yeah, you might as well. They're doing a better job than him. Sometimes the husbands slash boyfriends do better jobs than the women. And it's clear that Slade and Katie's husband, Matt.
Host 1
Yeah. And I. I don't find it. I find it shocking that we haven't seen a conversation between Jen and Ryan talking about how Gretchen told them these things. Because I don't think Ryan would lie. I think Ryan would have been like. Well, he did. They did tell us.
Co-host
Maybe. See, now you're turning out to like Ryan. Okay, look at this. Ryan, are you listening?
Host 1
Don't. As. As Eric would say, don't speak for me.
Co-host
Right, Exactly. But it seems as if you would put more weight on what Ryan said, as opposed to the other two and.
Host 1
As opposed to Jen.
Co-host
Yeah.
Host 1
Because I think Jen is just trying to.
Co-host
Yeah. Navigate.
Host 1
Happy.
Co-host
Right.
Host 1
She's not there. I mean, because truthfully, if I thought that you were lying to me and I. And we were true friends, as close of friends as they said that they were. You know, they shared all these things about their life.
Co-host
Dumb idea, by the way.
Host 1
Then, wouldn't you say, like, have a little bit of, like. I don't believe you, and I need to understand why I don't. Why I don't.
Co-host
Right. You need to explain this to me so I can explain this to me.
Host 1
But I don't think she can say that because she knows good and well she was at that dinner.
Co-host
Yeah.
Host 1
And unless she had earplugs in, but whatever.
Co-host
Well, it just feels like a whole thing to. And then Matt was saying they're trying to take Tamara down. What do you all of a sudden like Tamara?
Host 1
Yeah.
Co-host
I swear to God, it was designed to take Tamara down. You like Tamara? I thought Tamara was the devil. Like, two weeks ago.
Host 1
I. It's. I know.
Co-host
I'm just a little. It's a bad day, you know.
Host 1
No, it was a bad. To be honest, this episode bugged me. Well, I mean, as much as a croissant at the beach would have bugged me. Here's the thing about being a great gift giver. When you find something truly perfect for everyone on your list, you almost don't want to give it away.
Host 2
That's what happened with my quince order everything so soft and well made I'm seriously tempted to keep all of it for myself.
Host 1
Quince pretty much has your whole list covered. Mongolian cashmere sweaters for $50 when you'd normally pay $200 or more, the kind you'll wear on repeat.
Host 2
Then there's the denim that goes with everything. Silk tops and skirts for when you need to look put together. Cashmere beanies and scarves and down jackets that actually keep you warm.

Co-host
The receipts. We know this and we know. Okay, so Katie knows that Jen heard Gretchen say she went to the hospital. Katie said she would die on that for. What did she say yesterday?
Host 1
She said the same thing. She said I told Kiki Monique things about me, but I did not tell her that bit of information.
Co-host
Why? And Katie, why are you telling Kiki Monique anything about you?
Host 1
Because she talks to people. She, she admitted to talking to the Bravo babe.
Co-host
This is not good idea, guys. Yeah, don't talk to anybody.
Host 1
Don't go to lunches. Don't talk about the things.
Co-host
Don't talk about the show. You get, this is how, this is.
Host 1
How we get where we are right now.
Co-host
Okay. Gina shows up to Matt and Britt's house. Britt is Gina's ex husband's wife. And Gina has a great relationship with her. And Matt had a heart attack last week. And Gina tells Britt that she saved Matt's life. Life, which I, I, I find this wonderful. And I was confused for a second. I'm not going to lie.
Host 1
Well, I thought this might be an audition for Brit to join the cast.
Co-host
Well, maybe you're right. So who's getting the axe?
Host 1
Oh, who do you think would get the axe?
Co-host
No, you know more about their than.
Host 1
I, I don't know, but I think they need something else. They need somebody else. So all the women are now a lot of, a lot. Don't say all the women. A couple of women have said they refuse to go back and film if Katie is still on the show. But yet Katie's gonna be at the reunion.
Co-host
Yeah, but that. You have to do that.
Host 1
Yeah, you have to do that.
Co-host
You have to do that.
Host 1
Then they're not. I don't like, like Gina said publicly, I'm not going back to the show if Katie comes back.
Co-host
Okay, well, let's see how that plays out. Yeah, let's see.
Host 1
Let's see how that goes for you.
Co-host
Let's see how that goes.
Host 1
But it is sad that Matt had a heart attack.
Co-host
Yeah. What's going on? He's a young man. Right.
Host 1
He's A young man. Well, Gina said he needs to start taking care of himself.
Co-host
What does Britt say?
Host 1
Britt didn't really say anything like that. Britt was just kind of there and being supportive.
Co-host
I like it that Gina is friends with her ex husband and his new wife.
Host 1
Yeah, I think it shows.
Co-host
It's a very modern way of, like, taking care of things. And listen, if you can move on and be peaceful, fabulous.
Host 1
Yeah, great.
Co-host
Wonderful.
Host 1
It's better for the kids. It's better for the kids.
Co-host
Better for everybody.
Host 1
Especially with how dramatic their past was. So that must mean Britt's a pretty good person.
Co-host
Britt seems like she's very understanding, to say the least.
Host 1
Yeah, for sure. Then Jen, Tamara and Heather meet up for lunch. Jen tells them that Katie thinks it was all a setup. Jen, I wish. The setup thing, I. I don't like.
Co-host
The whole show's a setup, you fool. What part of this are you just coming to realize? The whole thing is like.
Host 1
This is a setup. Let me give you the.
Co-host
Let me. Let me tell you something.
Host 1
This show is a setup. Jen and Tamara talk through some of their issues. Tamara tells Jen that things don't get deep unless you really care about someone. And Tamara really does care about Jen.
Co-host
Okay, well, that's your friend.
Host 1
Well, listen, I didn't. Haven't talked to her about this. I don't know that she knows that I'm about to be going in hard for Jen, thinking Jen's pretending all over the place.
Co-host
Well, that's a conversation I can't wait to see the two of you have. You know, that's deep.
Host 1
Jen says she wants to move forward. And then Heather takes a selfie with Jen and Tamara hugging in the back.
Co-host
Which is hilarious because even Tamara knows. I mean, even Heather knows. It's.
Host 2
Yeah.
Co-host
Fleeting at best.
Host 1
I mean, we love to get resolution and movement on Housewives, but, like, do we think this is that?
Co-host
No, not really.
Host 1
No. Didn't think it. Didn't think it for a second.
Co-host
Yeah.
Host 1
No. Then Emily, Gina and Shannon are shopping. Emily tells them about her call with Jen.
Co-host
Yeah.
Host 1
Jen told her that Katie thinks, guess what?
Co-host
A setup.
Host 1
It's a setup.
Co-host
It's a setup.
Host 1
I mean, the only part from this scene that I was paying attention to is Emily's son. I know.
Co-host
The only part for me is Emily and this child. And I am just. I'm.
Host 1
And I'm calling.
Co-host
My heart goes out to her because, you know.
Host 1
I know it's.
Co-host
And then she's having problems with Shane and just sucks.
Host 1
They're just Trying to get through it. And I think she's probably even more emotional about it than she's even able to let on.
Co-host
100%. She's really trying to keep it together. They are. As a family. You know how it is. Yeah. I mean, and guys, when you do one of these shows, and, yes, it's about your life, but there's. You're still trying to put your best foot forward and not fall apart. And I know Emily's in a lot of pain, and I just feel badly for her. I suck so bad.
Host 1
I know. And I hope they have. They get some.
Co-host
They get some answers. Me too.
Host 1
I hope they get some.
Co-host
If anybody's listening and it's got some answers.
Host 1
Yeah.
Co-host
Or good referral.
Host 1
Yeah. Please reach out to her.
Co-host
Reach out to her.
Host 1
Katie and her husband Matt talk. Matt shows the amount of calls he had with Slay.
Co-host
Again, Orange holders.
Host 1
Orange holders. Katie saying slay job for 10 years is being Gretchen's bitch. Is the energy she needs to bring to the reunion.
Co-host
100%.
Host 1
Like, that's what we need from her.
Co-host
Yeah. If that's where we're going, that's where you need to stay.
Host 1
Yeah. I mean, even yesterday when she took the picture of us, she wrote just guys. I talked to a blogger, and it was me. A picture of her. Like, that's what I want from her. Like, she's got a little, like, fire. Yeah, she's got a little fire. She just needs to be able to bring it with the other women. But I think she. Something else that she said was, you know, she was like, I was adopted. I had a lot of feelings of wanting to be liked. I'm a people pleaser. I. You know, I want all these things. So I think that she really is stuck. She said she cried for weeks and weeks about her relationship with Jen.
Co-host
Um, here. I. Here. Here's what I don't know, Katie, but I do understand, like, wanting to be liked in a group of women. No, I don't.
Host 1
I was like, you. What? What?
Co-host
No, I don't. But I understand how it could feel like that. And I. I do understand needing to have some sort of friendship with someone in here.
Host 1
And there isn't. With not one. Right.
Co-host
And. And there's not one. They've iced her out. And look, for good reason, like, I'm not gonna sit over here. Like, I.
Host 1
But know what else I didn't really realize?
Co-host
What.
Host 1
So you know how they said that Katie sent the video to Alexis?
Co-host
Yes.
Host 1
No. She just told her the story.
Co-host
Same thing, but still bad it's still same. Still bad. It's not the same. I mean, look, it's not good.
Host 1
It's not good.
Co-host
It's not good. You don't get a pass.
Host 1
You don't get a pass.
Co-host
Don't. Do not get a pass. Because you shouldn't be doing that anyway. And you know the video. You should not be videoing anybody anyway. You shouldn't be talking about it to people. There's certain things you just don't do.
Host 1
But it did seem more malicious to me when I thought she sent that video to Alexis.
Co-host
Yes.
Host 1
I thought that was.
Co-host
That's even more weight on it. Yeah, I'm glad she didn't send it. But you still don't need to be taking the video, sending it to your husband, or talking about it to anybody. You see the trouble it got you in. Don't do it.
Host 1
Yep, that's true. Then the girls show up for Jen's beach day. Tamara brings Joe.
Co-host
Geez. Was that a setup? All these setups.
Host 1
A setup.
Co-host
Look at all these setups. You.
Host 1
But, like, come on, Gretchen. Why do you even care about Joe? I gonna try to look through this. Did Joe say anything?
Co-host
I thought she was reasonable.
Host 1
I don't think Jo.
Co-host
Yeah, Jo was cool. She was just there.
Host 1
She showed up. She showed up just like the couple other gals. We didn't hear her say any words.
Co-host
No, it's fine.
Host 1
Yeah, it is what it is.
Co-host
What is? Good News Friday. Is it like Good Friday, like before Easter?
Host 1
No, I think they were just trying to have come up with one of those stupid games, like. So it was good News Friday. Half the girls don't play volleyball. Maybe Shannon, but I loved that Jen's.
Co-host
Son was out there doing it. He seems like a really sweet kid.
Host 1
No, I like Dalton.
Co-host
Right?
Host 1
Yeah, I liked him.
Co-host
Yeah, he seems sweet. And, you know, he was showing everybody how to serve and whatever, and some.
Host 1
Of them gave it a go, some of them didn't.
Co-host
Per usual. You know how it is with those group events. Those group events make Erica go do I know Erica go do everything.
Host 1
I know.
Co-host
Drive this car around to Medieval Town. Erica. Okay, sure.
Host 1
Got it. That's, of course, what I wanted for doing the boat.
Co-host
Got it.
Host 1
But they all share their good news. Heather calls, but. Yeah, you're right. Why did Heather call it good news? It must have been Friday. It just was a Friday.
Co-host
It was a Friday. Good News Friday.
Host 1
Well, give me good news Friday, because today's Friday.
Co-host
Well, I almost said something. I can't get back.

Then we get Tamara asking Gretchen why she told her and Shannon in the car that she did go to the hospital. And then we get that flashback again.
Co-host
Where, yeah, I should have gone to the hospital.
Host 1
I also heard that if you clench your I think it's your butthole.
Co-host
Yeah.
Host 1
While you're taking a lie detector test, you'll pass.
Co-host
I was not expecting this.
Host 1
I now I'm scared. Yeah, I think it's.
Co-host
I know that. I heard that if you put like thumbtacks in your shoes, you'll pass.
Host 1
See, so there might be something to it.
Co-host
Who knows?
Host 1
Who cares? But this is where they lose me in this story. There's no pushback. You don't misspeak about whether or not you've gone to the hospital, like did.
Co-host
Go or you didn't.
Host 1
Yeah. So how do you misspeak? Don't try to flip it around now.
Co-host
Yeah, you can't. You can say, oh yeah, I misspoke but did you? I don't know. I just. The whole thing about. Here's the thing. Someone lost their job on Atlanta for saying something about drugging someone, right? This to me, in my opinion. And you can come for me as much as you want. This is, in my opinion, is closely in the same lane. Like, you can't do this kind of shit. It's just not. Okay, so you did go to the hospital. You didn't. Or roofie. Like, we can't do that. Like, that's.
Host 1
Did you say roofied? Or drugged? You know, like none of it matters.
Co-host
But it's also. It's also not great because you can't. You can say things like that. That's a big accusation.
Host 1
That's a huge accusation.
Co-host
Huge accusation.
Host 1
And then to not have, like, definitive answers. No definitive answers. I don't care that you passed a lie detector test.
Co-host
Fuck the lie detector test.
Host 1
Yeah, like, I don't care that you passed it.
Co-host
It's just the whole. The whole thing is, for me, like, this is not what Housewives is about, drugging people.
Host 1
Like, come on. I was watching somebody's.
Co-host
Take your own Xanax.
Host 1
Yeah, take your own Xanax.
Co-host
God knows I do.
Host 1
But then Tamara and Gretchen go to the chairs to talk. Gretchen and Tamara go tit for tat. Kids going through each other and all the things that have happened.
Co-host
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Host 1
And nothing really happens because it's never going to.
Co-host
Because it's not supposed to.
Host 1
It's old news.
Co-host
It's not good news. It's old news.
Host 1
And then Tamara said she already apologized to Slade. Gretchen wants Tamara to apologize for calling Slade a deadbeat dad.
Co-host
Well, he did get arrested for non payment, so, I mean, that is a fact.
Host 1
Yeah.
Co-host
So look, is it insult to injury? Yeah. But is it also true?
Host 1
Yeah, but she did apologize. So if that's what you wanted.
Co-host
You got your apology, you got your apology. Now let's never ever talk about it again. Right. Like it's dead and buried.
Host 1
We're done. We're done talking about it. I mean, I really hope we're done talking about it and this goes forward.
Co-host
Okay, so do you believe Tamara, like, when she grabbed her hand and said how sorry she was and that, you know, it affected his. You know. How do you think? What?
Host 1
I think that at this point, you're.
Co-host
Very close to Tamara. So what do you think?
Host 1
I think at this point, Tamara's probably sick of talking about this too.
Co-host
Yeah. Okay, great.
Host 1
I mean, how could you not be?
Co-host
Well, I'm sick of it. And it doesn't even involve me.
Host 1
It has nothing to do with us. And we're sick of talking about it.
Co-host
And so the audience must be sicker.
Host 1
Yeah. And the cast much be. Must be the sickest. Yes. Like, it's just when it's the same thing over and over and over and over.
Co-host
Like, give us a break.
Host 1
Give us a break.
Co-host
The skipping and holding hands. Cheesy. Shannon doesn't think it'll last. And I don't either. Shannon, I agree with you.
Host 1
No. Then Shannon's daughter Sophie arrives and they all share their worst breakup stories to.
Co-host
Cheer Sophie up, which I thought was cute.
Host 1
You did.
Co-host
It wasn't bad. I mean, it's kind of like, you know, Sophie was crying and everybody's been there.
Host 1
Yeah, everybody's been there. You know, some of the stories were good stories and made you laugh and some were.
Co-host
Yeah.
Host 1
Depressing.
Co-host
Depressing. Yeah. Well, can be depressing.
Host 1
Then we get the mid season trailer. Shannon's drinking, being questioned again. Tamara meeting up with Katie and Emily telling Gretchen it was to get info on her. And then Gretchen sharing a salacious rumor about Tamara. Tamara shouting fuck you in Gretchen's face. And then the Amsterdam trip where something happens at the end for Gretchen to be upset and the whole group questioning things.
Co-host
Do you know what this is all about?
Host 1
I don't.
Co-host
You do.
Host 1
No, I don't fully know because you have to remember I was in the hospital when all this was happening.
Co-host
Oh. Yeah.
Host 1
So I don't really know. That's not like old me.
Co-host
Yeah. I don't mean to laugh, but that's a legit excuse.
Host 1
Yeah. Normally I would have been on the horn.
Co-host
I was gonna say, how do you not know all this?
Host 1
Yeah.
Co-host
But you had a legit.
Host 1
Yeah. So I don't really know what's going on with all this, but I feel like we've got. At least there's going to be some movement. But now I think, Now I think we're Katie's out.
Co-host
Wow.
Host 1
I think we might see one more scene of Katie and then she's done until the reunion.
Co-host
Did she leave or did they make her leave? Was it a mutual agreement? What happened?
Host 1
She wanted to stay, but there was no one willing to film with her. I don't think.
Co-host
Oh, wow.
Host 1
I think only one person was willing to film with her.
Co-host
Okay.
Host 1
So apparently what she told me yesterday was she wanted to go on the cast trip, but production wouldn't let her because they said it would be in her best interest not to go.
Co-host
I can read that. So many different ways.
Host 1
I know. I've never even heard that.
Co-host
I've never heard that.
Host 1
I've never heard that.
Co-host
Maybe you should sit this one out.
Host 1
For your own good. Oh, really? That's how it works. I mean, maybe I should have sat out.
Co-host
Yeah, right. Like, I should have sat out two weeks ago. But I didn't.
Host 1
Didn't, didn't, didn't. So hopefully this, it kind of picks up and it keeps it moving a little bit.
Co-host
Yeah. Because the one thing about Orange county that I do have to say, and I know we're over here like just being shady today, but they do really. I mean, it's petty, it's repetitive, but somehow or another, I'm entertained.
Host 1
Yeah, I know. What does that say?
Co-host
As much as it means that we're just like everybody else. That's what it means. It means that we're just like everybody else watching this shit. Like, you know, we bitch about it, but yet we still watch it again.
Host 1
We still watch it again.
Co-host
Yeah. So, you know, to everybody out there who's listening, we're just like you.
Host 1
Yeah, we're just like you. We're just, you know, we're irritated, but we. But we love it.
Co-host
We're irritated, but we love it. We're frustrated, but we love it. I appreciate the women for putting it all out there and entertaining us, and.
Host 1
I wish some of them would put a little bit more out there, and I hope that they do. As the season progresses, we'll see what happens. Thanks for tuning in for another episode of Diamonds in the Rough.

In this lively RHOC Season 19, Episode 9 recap, Teddi Mellencamp and her co-host (with Tamra off and a guest filling in as "Erika Jayne") break down the latest Orange County Housewives drama. The episode is packed with classic Housewives beefs—old and new—ranging from Slade Smiley’s employment history, never-ending feuds, shifting alliances, rumors of cast shake-ups, and husbands getting too involved. The "Two Ts" don’t hold back, delivering sharp, often hilarious commentary and giving listeners the inside scoop on behind-the-scenes dynamics and what might lie ahead for the cast.

—Co-host (07:19)

—Co-host (24:36)
“It’s a very modern way of taking care of things…if you can move on and be peaceful, fabulous.”
—Co-host (24:04)

—Co-host (26:34)
“Now let's never ever talk about it again, right. Like it's dead and buried.”
—Co-host (38:47)
“We bitch about it, but yet we still watch it again.”

This episode perfectly captures what fans love (and love to hate) about Real Housewives recaps: sharp-tongued humor, irreverent gossip, brutal honesty, and a healthy dose of self-awareness about the repetitive, often ridiculous cycle of reality TV drama. Teddi and her guest deliver a breezy, brutally honest account of the week in RHOC, highlighting why viewers—and podcasters—just can’t look away, even when the storyline is circling the same drain.
For anyone who missed the episode, this recap gives a thorough sense of the personalities, drama, and behind-the-scenes tea discussed—no blogger credentials required.
