Was this your biggest trip that you've taken?

[Teddi Mellencamp]

No, I took a big trip with Slate only for that riding thing. But this trip to my dad's was like, all the kids, not just mine, but also my sister's and I mean, it was nonstop. Plus, my dad can't stand any mess. If one thing moves, he's like, hey, did somebody move the couch? And then he makes like all of us.

[Ryder Strong]

That's how I am.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

A thousand pound couch. That's how I am. But then he's wrong. And we haven't moved it because then we can see a spot that it's been sitting there the entire time. And I'm like, that exactly how I am.

[Ryder Strong]

And we had my mom and her boyfriend at our house for fourth of July. And Big Bear, and of course Eddie's.

[Tamra Judge]

Like, bring the dog, bring the dogs.

[Ryder Strong]

The dog came and the dogs were running around crazy, wrestling constantly. And I'm like, wrestling, wrestling. And I'm like, there's a spot in the carpet. I mean, on the floor. There's this or that. I'm like, I'm over here cleaning everything. I'm like a nut when it comes to that kind of stuff. So I totally get where your dad's coming from.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Well, then I. I told him, I said, listen, if you want to keep inviting us on these trips, you have to realize that we have one jillion children and it's not always going to be immaculate. Especially because they want to get in the pool 86 times and they've decided they're done. And then they're like, hey, can we go swimming? And I'm like, I just gave you a bath.

[Ryder Strong]

Do you have to?

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Anything but that. But, you know, it was pretty challenging. I mean, you know, guys, sorry. I want to apologize to our Listeners. I had to cancel last week or two weeks ago when we were doing the pod. I was having some medical stuff, and then I was pretty much struggling up until we left. And then they put me on a new medication, and it helped a little bit. So I would say half the trip was amazing and half the trip was pretty horrible because I felt so. I mean, people are like, oh, we saw that you did this on Instagram. I'm like, yeah, that's three hours of a full day.

[Ryder Strong]

I know, I know, I know.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

People forget that there's, like, other parts of the day that aren't on the gram. I was like, by the fact that I post so much less should tell you not feeling okay.

[Ryder Strong]

Okay. So a lot of people will say to me, teddy's doing great. I had this conversation yesterday with Michelle because she was. She did some extensions in my hair. So thank you. And so she said, you know, so many of my clients were like, God.

[Tamra Judge]

Teddy's doing so good. I'm so happy for her.

[Ryder Strong]

And I go, I know. People say that to me all the time. And it's like, you see her on Instagram for 30 seconds, everyone's like, she's perfect.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Yeah. I mean, I'm trying to be as positive as I can and do as many things as my body tells me that I can do. But when I went back to something I didn't realize that happened with immunotherapy. First off, I want to apologize to anybody that's in any kind of, like, health care situation where they don't have additional people to help them get things done. I mean, we even have talked about it, like, even just getting your medications, all of those things. We've talked about it in regards to Amazon and things like that, that have delivery services now that come right to your door. But I seriously have felt like. And like, a desperate way to get things done. And I'm like.

[Ryder Strong]

Like overwhelmed people.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Yeah, like overwhelmed. Like, I'm like, waiting for this medication to come or waiting for this or, oh, no, insurance doesn't cover it until tomorrow. You can pick it up tomorrow. That's like, all those types of things. So leading up to the trip was a little bit stressful because I guess what immunotherapy does is it, you know, kind of comes out your system. And so now I've developed something with my thyroid, and I think it's hyper hypo. I'm not a doctor, guys, but hypothyroidism. So we couldn't figure out why I was feeling so low and it was. Because when you have that and all of a sudden you have. Yeah, it slows down.

[Ryder Strong]

You on Synthroid?

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Yes.

[Ryder Strong]

Yeah. So I'm on Synthroid, because. I know you are. I have the same thing that's so wild.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Like. And I had. No. And I've never had. And I've had my thyroid checked a million times. Because, of course, you know, when. Back before I had sickness stuff, I was like, maybe something's wrong with my thyroid.

[Ryder Strong]

Why can't I lose £2? It must be my thyroid, right?

[Teddi Mellencamp]

It's my thyroid. But no, now I actually have it. And then come to find out, so does my sister, but she's had it, you know, forever.

[Ryder Strong]

Does she have Hyper Hypo or Hypo?

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Yeah, hypo. We both have hypo. But she's been on medication for a couple of years. She's feeling better. She also gave me some different things, soups and things to eat that help with the situation. And I've, you know, changed. The only thing I haven't given up, folks, not ready. Cheers to a Diet Coke.

[Ryder Strong]

Diet Coke.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

You know what? I blame the hospital for the Diet Coke addiction.

[Ryder Strong]

I blame Kaden. I didn't drink Diet Coke for 20 years.

[Tamra Judge]

20 years.

[Ryder Strong]

20, maybe even longer. And yesterday we went. Sophia and I went and had Thai food, and I ordered a Diet Coke. And she goes, I'll have one too. I go, what? You're drinking Diet Coke? And she's like, yes, I blame Kaden.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

You know what? I'll blame Kaden, too, just because it seems more fair. Because I think I already blame the doctors for how hard it is for me to get my prescriptions and feel good. So Kaden is gonna have to take the hit on that. Kaden is one of our producers on the show.

[Ryder Strong]

I give him, and he Diet Coke pounds them. And I was like, you shouldn't do that. It's horrible for you. Da, da, da. And then all of a sudden, I hang out with them. I'm drinking Diet Coke, and now I like, I can't quit it. I can't. I can't quit her.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

But we can still be judgmental about other people drinking Diet Coke, even though we do it ourselves.

[Ryder Strong]

I draw the line at Dr. Pepper. No one around me is allowed to drink Dr. Pepper.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Diet Dr. Pepper or Dr. Any of them. Dr. Pepper. Any peppers. Know what I draw the line at?

[Ryder Strong]

What?

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Mountain Dew.

[Ryder Strong]

Oh, that's brutal. That is brutal. So how was John Mellencamp?

[Teddi Mellencamp]

John Mellencamp was good. I think it's really hard being In a place where, you know, I kind of am in denial of where I am physically. And when other people are not in denial, it's hard. You know, like, my sister gets emotional when she sees me and cries. My little brother, who, like, it's so beyond, you know, which has been the spec. He painted, like, a beautiful picture of me and my sister. And, like, just watching him do it and he's so now about it, like, he just goes at it and, like, he did it from. You know, obviously he did it from scratch, but, like, he did it with us sitting there. So he did it in three days and. Cause. And we were. I only was able to sit in the chair for, like, an hour a day. And, like, he nailed it. But, like, watching that makes me emotional. But, like, my family wants to have, like, the hard conversations.

[Ryder Strong]

Yeah.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

And I don't. What do you want to talk about? They want to talk about things like the future or medically. Exactly how I'm doing. And, like, I don't want to talk about it.

[Ryder Strong]

No, you don't. But you don't want to talk about that with anybody.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

No, it's not just. Yeah, I don't want to talk about it with you either, for the record.

[Ryder Strong]

No, you don't. I have to, like, pull it out of you, you know?

Yeah.

It's like, I know when you're not feeling well is when you're not posting on Instagram.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Yeah. That's your way of tracking. I know I'm not feeling well when I can't text at all.

And that is because your vision or your.

So my vision, which is weird even with glasses. It doesn't help my vision. Or, like, you can tell today, like, see how shaky my hands are?

Yes.

So then it gets so annoying to try to text because then that stupid Ziggy thing pops up, and then it wants to be a big P with that.

When you write something that shit time.

I'm like, good thing I'm not having a freaking seizure, because this damn thing could push me right over the edge. I felt like the shake, rather. Really, the shaking really bothers me, like. But no, it didn't bother me.

Secret Lives of Mormon Wives reunion?

[Ryder Strong]

Well, it didn't bother you.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

It didn't bother me. I mean, I thought it was a tit.

It was a little bit long.

I was going to say it was a little bit.

I love Nick. I always have. I love doing his podcast. I like that he. You know, he gets the guests that we don't. I know where you're everybody.

No, I don't think that you do because I know anything. You feel the same way? No. Well, no one is. But in this particular moment, I don't know if frickin Whitney pissed in his erewhon smoothie, but he could he be nice her a break or even look at her with any sort of compassion.

Why do you think, do you think that he's a fan and he's just looking at it, you know, like that or did she do something to piss him off?

[Tamra Judge]

Does he just not like her?

Well, I mean clearly she doesn't take accountability for anything. And I hate that I just use the word accountability for me people. But like clearly she doesn't. But who does?

[Ryder Strong]

Especially accountability people do. Not for everything, but.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

But people that take accountability for everything are also very unlikable.

[Ryder Strong]

But has she done anything so drastically bad that she had to take accountability for? It's all like stupid.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

It's all dumb. Dumb.

I mean it doesn't make a difference.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

But if. Who would you be the most mad at just watching this? Like who do you. Who bugged you the most? And this girl didn't even have for me, this girl didn't even have to attend their reunion and to me still bugged me the most.

I was going to say that's the one that probably bugged me the most. Just because she couldn't show up and you can't tell me, oh, sorry, I had a Disney trip. I'll tell you right now. Production reach out to us and said, hey guys, we're scheduling reunion. Do any of these dates work for you? And they work around what our schedule is. Come on, you can't. She didn't go because she didn't want to go. And I don't think she'll be back next year.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Do you know, sadly I think she will be back. And then I'm like, Bravo would never, never like you don't show up. You don't get like your own little.

[Ryder Strong]

No. And speaking of not being back, do you think that Nick will be back next season to do the reunion?

[Teddi Mellencamp]

I do.

[Ryder Strong]

I don't think they need one. I feel like there was so much shit they couldn't talk about because there's now filming season three that it would give away storyline.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

This should tell you guys how little there is for us to talk about in regards to this reunion. It was 16 hours long and we only have two pages. Our third page only has three. Three sentences on it. Yeah, that I think normally we have. Like. Like, I'll have probably 65 for Orange County.

[Ryder Strong]

I say hire Alex Cooper to do the reunion. I think we need a girl. She would be good.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

She's actually where Edwin is right now, I think. Where? In, like, the south of France. Oh, yeah. Make friends with her and then ask her to reach out to us because we want to be on her pod.

[Ryder Strong]

Okay, well, don't be. Don't call me a traitor, but I just ordered one of her hats that says unwell.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Well, I just. My sister gave me the hat that says favorite daughter. And then by the end of the trip, I said to my sister, I go, can I write least at the top of this? Because clearly, anymore.

[Ryder Strong]

I'm sure you're the favorite daughter right now.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

I don't think so. I think how quickly the tides. I can rub people the wrong way.

[Ryder Strong]

Even dying isn't so. Say it isn't so. But don't you get a little bit of a call hall pass right now?

[Teddi Mellencamp]

No. I get made fun of by everybody because I pace around in slow motion.

[Ryder Strong]

I interviewed with Sheena and Kiki Monique today, and Kiki was talking about how you guys chat a little bit on DMS or something. And she was saying how you still really have your wits about you and you have your humor about you. And you guys had a conversation. I don't know how Ria was probably old about Raya.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Oh, yeah, because Raya, she Something waitlisted. I never got into Raya.

[Ryder Strong]

They will listen to this day.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

They waitlisted me.

[Ryder Strong]

And she says that you're being funny about it. Like, of all people, why wouldn't they pick me right now?

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Like, I am sorry. I don't. I'm not one of your. I would wonder, though, like, if I were to, like, zip back on hinge or get on Riot. Do I need to be bald to be transparent?

[Ryder Strong]

Yes. No.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

I can't just go the. Like, I can't just keep my same profile pics. And then if they really care, they could probably.

[Ryder Strong]

Are you trying to catch somebody?

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Yes. Because I would probably wear my wig to the first date, and then it would be surprise if we were getting second base.

[Ryder Strong]

Better if you just put you. Obviously, obviously, you're not going to do this. This is hypothetically speaking, because you're fine where you're at right now. But I think that you would have to do bald, because then if somebody is like, yes, yes, this is my girl. There's no surprises.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Well, can you guys let us know something? How long? My sister said it was something like quarter of an inch in a month is how long your hair? I'm trying to figure out.

[Ryder Strong]

I can tell you.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Oh, am I going to need my hair done in October or else, or am I still wigging it? It's this long now.

[Ryder Strong]

Okay, so I, you know, I had that brow lift back in August.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Yeah.

[Ryder Strong]

And for a good month after that, there was no hair. None that were my incisions where the hair would not grow back. So month two, it started to grow back and now it's like this long.

Really?

[Ryder Strong]

Yeah.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

So are you taking neutrophil?

[Ryder Strong]

I was, but I take, I take so many things, supplements and stuff. And sometimes it's like, oh, you have to take four of them. So how many prescription pills are you on, do you know?

[Teddi Mellencamp]

I'm on zero narcotics, but I'm on probably 16 medications. I would say if I like look at the. But it's like, you know, anti seizure medication, this medica, blah, blah, blah. Like it's.

[Ryder Strong]

What medication did they recently. You don't have to answer this, but they recently changed or switched that.

So I kept telling them from freaking day one of being in the hospital, they said to me, do you want a catheter? And I was like, well, I don't know when I'm gonna pee. So probably. So they put a catheter in there. They're like, this could cause problems later. Granted, there's like 86 different doctors that worked on me because I was like a weird case. So ever since then I was like, guys, I think I have a uti. And they're like, nope, it's not showing up in your labs. And like, well, I'm not going on and checking my paperwork. Like, I don't know, labs. So I. This last time I went in again, and I was like, guys, I'm telling you, I have a uti. The doctors are like, no, you don't. And then my friend Kelly looked at my labs and she's like, teddy, you've had a UTI since you've been in the hospital.

Oh my gosh, that's horrible.

So it had turned into Something that was, like, really making me sick.

Well, I mean, I think I told the story before, but you were in the hospital, and they wanted you to get up to the bathroom, and you're like, nope, can't do it. Nope, nope, nope. And they're like, well, we don't want to keep putting a catheter in you because you could get an infection, you know?

Guess what? I did.

Yeah. And then you.

And then they put me on the steroids again, so I was all revved up. You were roided out. I was all roided out for eight days. Eight days of roiding out. Speaking of roided out, now, who I didn't like, even after this, I thought this was going to be his redemption.

Yeah. Like, I think it's. It's tough shoes to fill. I mean, Andy Cohen's been doing it for so long, and I know there's been other shows that have reunions, and no matter who the host is, they're always being compared to Andy Cohen, who is.

You got to learn. It takes a learning curve. I mean, he's probably going to get better and better at it, and I don't know any other male that could have probably gone in and done a better job than him.

And then I hear right as he passes by me, he starts complaining to the flight attendant that he isn't in first class and needs to move to first class because he's in a middle seat. And I was like, buddy, from what I've been watching, you shouldn't be spending that extra money even on Delta first class.

Those aren't even lay flat seats. I regretted my decision.

[Ryder Strong]

Well, first of all, you know your flight, you pick your flight, you book your flight, you book your seat.

You know where you're sitting. I know. So was he Doing that just to make a big deal, like, oh, they made a mistake. I should be in first class.

I think so. I think he saw me and he panicked that I was going to talk about it. So what do I do? We're talking about, remember halfway through the pod to talk about it.

Well, no, he was on his way back to seat 33, so I didn't get to have another conversation. And then I got off so quickly that then he was still on when I was departing.

But then Dakota talks about how Taylor got drunk three nights in a row after. After him saying he couldn't be around somebody that drinks after his 10 year sobriety. And then, you know, I think that was solely to make her look bad.

Because I don't ever see her drinking on the show.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Because on that. On last season, she had to. She like couldn't leave the state. She had all these.

[Ryder Strong]

She got arrested, right?

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Yeah. Because of a fight with Dakota when she was drinking. Allegedly. I think he was just wanting to make her look bad. Like, the reason I cheated on you is because you got drunk three times. But like you're. You started dating a girl that drinks.

[Ryder Strong]

That said, that's a bad. No, I'm not buying that.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

I'm not buying it either.

[Ryder Strong]

Not buying it. Sorry.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Then we get to Demi's prerecorded one on one interview with Nick. I mean, way to go Vile Files. You really getting after it. You got your. Like they did. She did it in his LA studio. Like we've been in there, right?

[Ryder Strong]

So she had zero remorse.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

She doubles down claiming Layla, Whitney and Jen trash talk Jay Z Styles, hair color services, and they all deny it. I think this is a ridiculous argument that I don't want to hear anything else about. All I know is I would cut somebody's eyes out to have Jesse's hair.

[Ryder Strong]

She's beautiful. I mean, it's not all, pretty much.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Any of her features.

[Ryder Strong]

She's beautiful. It's not all her hair. Now she's got extensions in there.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Yeah, no shit. But that's why she does good extensions. And that means that somebody on that works for her also does good extensions. Because I don't think she does her own.

[Ryder Strong]

No. So I don't think it was about the extensions though. But they were kind of putting down her coloring the way they color.

Oh, I know. I mean, but this is so ridiculous. I also want to be like, hey, Demi, newsflash. You have the same hair color as Jesse.

It'S like. Sorry about it. Sometimes I get confused when you guys are walking from behind. I know, but Jen brings out receipts to talk about certain things that happen. Jen plays a recorded call with Demi and Brett asking her not to discuss Marciano on camera. Demi asked her to pretend to admire her open and honest marriage. Then Zach says Demi sent them a cease and desist. Your favorite word.

Yeah. How is it cyst and deceased.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Cist and deceased afterwards specifically did not speak about Vanderpumpfella on camera. Also, we know that he's gotten the boot from Vander vampwella. But clearly now he's.

Now he's moved over to Mormon wise.

Well, good move. Then Jen opens up about her pre. The fact of the amount of things that weren't shown this season that we did get. Oh, my God.

I see it all in the last 20 minutes.

I know Jen opens up about her prenatal depression and suicidal ideation. That part we did hear about, but I feel like that was cut short. We could have talked about that more. There could have been more to gain.

[Ryder Strong]

I think there would be way more to gain to talk about situations like that, you know? But then again, like, you open yourself up to things like that, and then all of a sudden, you know, you're playing victim or you're this. Or nobody believes you. So it's.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Or Demi just doesn't believe you or Brett, who do you think runs the manipulation show? Demi or Brett?

[Ryder Strong]

Oh, Demi for sure. I think.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

I don't know. I think Brett seems like he might be a little controlling.

Then Jay, Mikayla's husband, shares his story. Jay says he was fired due to the mom talk drama. Now he's a stay at home dad to support Michaela.

But didn't he own a family business?

[Teddi Mellencamp]

No, but then they found out that the family business had been taken over by somebody else. And that's the person that fired him. Not even his family business. His family business was in trouble. So then another. I'm gonna use creditor Whomever it was came in and took over the business and then gave him the boot. So it wasn't like his dad fired him. And then Connor opens up about his porn addiction, which I thought was very moving, but I also was very confused because they keep saying Tinder, but originally I thought it was Grindr. Or did I just make that up in my head? Oh, I guess it's always been Tinder on the show. But I'm a little bit curious.

[Ryder Strong]

In your mind it was Grindr? In my mind, it was speculated that it was Grindr. That's what it was. Because people were saying that he had.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

The Internet is saying Grindr and Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is saying it's Tinder. But then, so we get a couple things. So first we get, you know, we get a lot of people sharing their inside stories. We also get Layla's story.

[Ryder Strong]

Yes. About another story that we didn't get to see on the season.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Well, I think it was because Demi was like biting her nails and like, filing them and like doing her hair. Like she was not paying attention to the story at all. Plus, I'm not sure that I would share. Like, it just. It didn't feel. I know what she's saying is authentic, but it didn't feel like a natural setting to share such a traumatic thing in your life. And so I think that's why that didn't get aired, in my opinion.

[Ryder Strong]

Did go to social media and posted pictures as well of her scarring on her legs and stuff.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

It's really sad. And. But the fact that that's another thing. Like, let's dig into some of these additional stories. I don't need to see them fighting over Dakota every episode.

[Ryder Strong]

These are the type of stories that help people, you know, when you put your story out there. And yes, it's fun to see the fighting and the arguing and the cattiness, but it's also good to see, like, authentic stories that people can relate to and be like, okay, I'm not the only one. I would have to give Taylor, like, props. Like, she admits when she did something wrong. She's compassionate. When somebody's upset, she can dish it out and she can take it. Like, she's very well rounded. She's good tv.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

She's good tv. And she also, I don't know, she's likable. Even when she does something shitty, I still like her.

[Ryder Strong]

And the facial expressions non stop. I just love.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Yeah. And then we get back to more Jesse and Marciano. Their situation where Nick flat out asks her did you sleep with him? And she's like, no, but I just want to open up about my story to help other people. And then Marciano in the scenes for next season reveals he was manipulated and wants to take a lie detector test. Police.

[Ryder Strong]

He was manipulated? How, how was he manipulated?

[Teddi Mellencamp]

He didn't know what a clam show was on the.

[Ryder Strong]

Oh, shut up.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Then that's when we get to Whitney talking about her own mom talk. And then Demi and Jesse have a one on one sit down. Do we think that Demi and Jesse are going to make up? I hope not.

[Ryder Strong]

I don't. That would be a tough one for me to, to make up with somebody that did that shitty like to like try to get her off the show and to get more money and things like that. Like that's not a friend. And, and I don't even know really. I think they, she said. How long have they been a friend? A year, like two years. How long have they really been friends?

[Teddi Mellencamp]

That's, that's the thing. But know who has been friends the entire time and we haven't mentioned her name once.

[Ryder Strong]

Miranda.

[Ryder Strong]

Miranda's not a very big part in this reunion.

Miranda, we need you to bring it next season because you're very cute. You see, when you do talk, I don't have a problem with what you're saying. I just want more of it.

I don't, I just got, you know.

Make these kind of decisions. I mean, all I've seen of her is her ex husband who I really disliked.

And then Layla came out of her shell a little bit towards the end during the, I don't know, bringing on Marciano.

Leila got her. Her producer credit on this season.

[Ryder Strong]

Yeah, and her. I liked her dress too. It was really pretty on her. I couldn't wear it.

But yeah, I mean they're a lot younger than us, Tam. I think a lot. I think they're a lot younger than me. But I wonder how long until we get to see this third season that they're talking about this entire reunion. September. We get it in September.
