Hey, guys. Welcome back to another episode of two T's in a Pod. Today, me and Dolores have Summer House Season 9 Episode 8 recap. How are you doing? Where are you? I see no wine cellar. I see a chandelier.

This is a beautiful hotel. It's the Shelbourn in Dublin, Ireland. So Paul's mom passed away a year ago today and Sunday's the mass, so, yeah, that's what we're doing here.

I know. I. I saw your tribute to her on Instagram, both you and Paul, and it was just so sweet. I didn't. For some reason. I don't know if I don't remember, but I. I didn't know that she passed away. I.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

A lot of people did. Yeah, because it was when. Well, we weren't filming at the time, so. Yeah, she fell and hit her head. And then that's what she had vertigo. She was not sick. Paul feels very different. It feels like a. Not a home because Mom's not here anymore. So we're gonna make our rounds to see his family. And my dad's here, so we're gonna show him around. He's never been to Europe before.

Oh, my gosh. How exciting.

It. Yeah, so I did. It's cold and cloudy, but I did watch Summ. Had to download it on Hulu. Oh, yeah, I have. I have some things to say.

Well, let's get into it so you can go have some fun. You're probably super tired, though. I bet. Well, you look good. I have one here right now. Got out of the shower.

So it starts off with. The tension continues to build between Paige and Craig. She feels like Craig is being aggressive in a very southern way because his words are nice. But they make her feel icky. Paige is nervous for the podcast tour, and she can't really talk to Craig about her career unless it concerns him or their relationship. I don't. I mean, I feel like Paige is trying to paint this picture about Craig that we're not really seeing, but she knows she's been on TV long enough that she can manipulate the viewers by saying, he's being very aggressive, and in a Southern way. I don't.

Is there such a thing? Listen, I never gauge what I think is aggressive, Tamra, to what somebody else should think is aggressive, because I have a very high level of that, and it's not a good thing. It's not a good thing. It's. It's from bad experience in life and growing up the way I did and where I did. So I. I want to believe her. I want to say, he is being dad because I'm a girl's girl, and that's how Paige feels. And no matter what.

Oh, we're gonna be sensitive to the feelings today, are we?

I'm. Today I'm being sensitive to the feelings, but I just say this.

Maybe I'm just tired, but tireless hair, maybe. No. Because every time. No, I've turned a little with it. You know how sometimes you can change the way you feel with information?

And the more people that I speak to about Summer House, the more people about Paige and Craig's relationship, they're like. But he was not nice to her.

That makes sense.

Terrible to her in the beginning of the relationship. And the hands have come home to roost. Maybe I didn't see that. All I see now is a very. An imminent demise of his heart. So, not that I feel bad for him. I mean, listen, this didn't come out of nowhere, but. Yeah.

Yeah, I. I just. Because we don't. I haven't seen that side. He's always been like. I mean, the. The interweb is really on his side with this. They're like. Because all the. He's been showing us. I want to get married. I want to have kids. I want to have chickens. I want to have bees and all these things. And I feel like Paige is looking for something to be mad about so she can explain the breakup later. Like, she clearly knew without feeling guilty. That's how I'm seeing it. Of course I love Paige. I've met her. She's so sweet. She's so classy and all I love.

But I'm like this. I love everything about where I want them. Who am I to like, go put them on? But I'm going to.

[Dolores Catania]

But I look like a dork. But they would never look that good on me.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

No, they would. I just passed the mirror with my glasses on and now I have a problem. I'm like, just totally shot. It threw off my whole mood. Calling my plastic surgeon as soon as I get home. Girls over 50 don't put your glasses on and walk past the mirror. But I think that Paige is going to age Craig, with the way she's going on, because it is. She is going for the jugular.

[Dolores Catania]

She is. Now Carl's getting no love about this soft bar he's opening. So Carl's getting the final head count for his friends and family for the opening of his new bar, which is a non alcoholic bar. Mocktails, I guess you would call it. He's even invited Lindsay. He is so excited. Now, what are your thoughts on this? I know he's put in over a hundred thousand dollars into this and he wants it to be a success. He's inviting Lindsay. The theme is a garden party. But what I'm asking you, do you think the idea of a soft bar is a viable business? Because his castmates are not thinking that at all.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Well, they drink heavily every weekend and during the weekdays too. So if you ask me, I love a soft bar because I don't drink. So I love it for being a good idea. Here's the thing, Tamara. A pile of shit can make it at the right time, at the right spot, with the right person.

[Dolores Catania]

Right. Marketing.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Yeah. If it just. Who knew, like certain things. Somebody on TikTok showing floor cleaner that it smells good, no different than fabuloso, not even as good. Goes viral. So I hope this.

[Dolores Catania]

It's all in the marketing. It's all.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

It's all in the stars, Tamara. It's all in the fucking stars. You can market. You could bust dress marketing. I think he's putting a lot of money into it. That's always very scary to me to put your own money into a business instead of having investors. But hey, all the power to you. He seems happy.

He does seem happy. And I really do hope that it does work out because he is putting a lot of money into it and he is very excited about it. You know, and here's the thing. He could always change his business plan. You know, we, I mean people in the, in the industry know that most of these bars make restaurants make their money off of alcohol sales.

I know, I Just wish him the best.

I do too. So back in the city, Lexi's getting lunch with Jesse. She was in Canada last weekend because her grandmother had a double mastectomy. She didn't really want anybody to know.

So how's grandma doing now?

[Dolores Catania]

I don't know. I don't know. But she is by far the sweetest girl on tv. On any reality show, I swear.

Very sweet. I'll talk later about how she handled things. I'm impressed.

But, you know, she comes from strong family ties. They keep an eye on her. They've always watched over her in the business that she does. You know, this is a girl who comes. Listen, when you're buying a dog or a horse, you look at the breed they come from. This girl comes from a place of where she was love and she was reared well. And you can just tell.

So why did they allow her to go to summer house and be with Jesse after they married?

And she's even like. You even have to think about it. Like, she's dated some.

Well, you know what's worse is when Lexi asks about the weekend at the house, and Jesse gets a little awkward in his confessional because he knows he did no good. No, Dolores, we know that. That boy is just.

I'm telling you, he's gonna pay. He's gonna pay for that. She's.

You don't need to. When you're serious with a girl, Jesse, I think that you need to know. You don't need to walk in a room where two other girls are having sex with your friend. You. You just avoid it. I don't go to the dessert table when I'm trying to lose weight.

Meanwhile, they're sleeping next to each other or they're doing whatever. You know, that stuff still counts. It's quiet. What do you call it?

I don't like that he did that because he knew what was about to happen. So he's like, hey, you're my person. We're dating now. Let's go bone. Because pretty soon you're going to hear what a fuck head I am. And you're going to be like, I don't want to be around you. And then I can have already had sex with you. So now I can like, maybe sweet talk you back into staying with me. I mean, I feel like it was a chess move for sure.

And you know this from Housewives, the story's told once and by the end of it it is so exaggerated. You're like, what? That tells me what happened. Yes, yes. So she so Gabby's basically saying that that Lil probably slid into his DMs.

Way while you were we asked last summer and poor Lil didn't even know what month it was when she did text did DM him because she had no idea they were baiting her to do something bad. When they were telling her, it was like licking their chops. It was like hungry lions around her when she was talking.

Absolutely. And then Lindsay is furious. Like she thinks Carl's been playing the victim when it's really. And I think what happened here, it's like, I don't think she really gives a shit. I just feel like this is a. This is the time right now on the show to make Carl look bad because she feels like she's the one that looks bad, you know?

Well, I mean, it was. It wasn't hard to play the victim when you are the victim. When your guy breaks up with your. Your marriage on camera and you had no idea it was coming. I don't think she had any idea. I didn't watch it then. I didn't watch episode. I was busy.

Could you imagine that happening? And then you still have to work with this guy? Like, no, that would been really, really tough to deal with. Like, and. And I don't think that Lindsay's the type that plays victim. She's kind of a hardcore kind of New Yorker mentality is how I see her.

Soft spoken, right? No, I. Tamara. Yes. But the way we see it coming with Paige and Craig, I feel like it could have been. You saw the same thing with Lindsay and Carl? Because when we actually did a page.

Yes, but I, like, I didn't see it on the show. I saw them in person and I knew it then. And they had a. A big blow up that night. There was a huge thing.

That is. I don't think that they're gonna make that. That wedding's going to happen. He's like the, the, the relationship predictor as Paul. If somebody's getting divorced as Paul if someone's breaking up or if they're going to make it. Ask him.

Yeah, no, I know. You tell me a lot. Like, he's like, Paul's the one who said this or Paul's the one that predicted this. Like he needs to have his own little.

Because I don't even pay attention.

He's from Dublin. And they think everybody's fucking got a conspiracy anyway.

It's like, no, I'm good. And then his butthole clenched. He's like, what the am I in trouble for? Like, he walked away from there going, what could it be? Like, what could it be?

These girls, she give me high five.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

This is the. Like, these girls are like, like, sure, they.

[Dolores Catania]

I know, I know. This is. The show's really good.

They're like, they like waterboard you.

Oh my God. Then Lexi finds out about Jesse getting his toe suck. Shortly after, Lindsay gives her a more in depth detail about it. I love that Lindsay was so ready to, to let you know, Lexi know, Like, this is what happened and he.

Was getting his toes.

What was he said about Sierra?

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Tamara, that's good tv.

Yeah, she was getting.

Can I ask you, is Carl and, and Lindsay friendly? Do they low key? Not like each other? Is there like bad feelings? Like, what's up over there?

[Dolores Catania]

What do you mean? Carl and Lindsay, they hate each other? Is that what you meant?

[Teddi Mellencamp]

No, no, I meant Jesse. I'm sorry. I'm a little jet lagged. I'm sorry. Jesse and Lindsay, because Jesse, she's dropping a fat dime.

Oh, I know she was. That's why I was like, whoa, okay. She's really stirring the pot. She's like, you know what? I might be pregnant, but I can still stir that pot.

I could still do a good job.

Jesse and Lexi have a talk. Lexi's hurt that she didn't. That he didn't tell her about the event and what went down last weekend and she had to hear from other people. Jesse feels like he's learning and has to make adjustments. Speak. And here. And he does, though.

You know what? I agree with him.

I know, but he's playing a game. He knew exactly what he was doing. Like, let's be boyfriend and girlfriend because you're about to hear some news. You're not Gonna like.

But maybe he just doesn't know how to be that guy. Clearly, he needs to be told he's got a roster. But this girl, like, you know, I don't want to be the one to teach the guy. I want. I want the guy. After they've been with a girl who's done all the work, all the legwork.

Taught him. Clean up your dms, clean up your phone, cut your ties, get rid of your. Your booty calls. I want to be the girl after the girl. Like, I'm always coming in. And then, you know, you clean.

I got something to tell you. They listen. I give it to them. I give it to them. They're gonna get another season and another one and another one. But at what age do you. Do you age out of summer house? I'm curious.

Yeah, I think you do. I think Lindsay's aged out of summer house. I think she needs to go over to New York. You know, Kyle. I mean, he's the oldest. He ain't going nowhere. He's 42, but he still acts like he's 25.

You know, it was a good episode. I was curious to see Ciara's reaction when he said that he got his toes sucked after he was flirting with her all weekend. I did see a little bit. Like, really? Even though there's nothing going on and even though. But like, when a guy's, like, all over you like that, right? And then you hear, like, it. Doesn't it feel, like, weird?

[Dolores Catania]

Well, he's all over everybody. That's the problem. And it's like, you know, the first one to charm you is the first one to you. And not literally you, but.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

You know what I mean?

[Dolores Catania]

Like, I just feel like I don't trust people that are overly like, oh, like, nope, you're up to no good. You're up to no good.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

In my world, there's a saying, I have it on a pillow. My friend's grandmother, Jojo's grandmother used to say it, is the fucking you're getting worth the fucking you're getting?

[Dolores Catania]

Yes. You have to really, like, say that a few times over and over again.

Do you get what I'm saying?

[Dolores Catania]

Yes.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Like, is it that good that it's worth what. What it comes with?

And Jesse's that guy. And I'm very skeptical about people that are very motivational and, you know, try to, you know, be so happy and shipper all the time. I'm like, yeah, you're up to something. I know it. No one's like that.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

No. I don't know if that's. I. I mean, we shouldn't be so cynical, Tamara. You shouldn't be so cynical. No, I fight it. I'm gonna try to fight it. This is my new thing. I. I want to see the good in everyone. You know, life has beat us up, so we're like that.

[Dolores Catania]

But you also want to be smart. You want to be smart about people.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

You got. There's got to be a fine line.

[Dolores Catania]

But I think you're like me. Like, I have really good intuition. Like, I can meet someone. Like, nope, not good. There's very few people that fool me.

[Teddi Mellencamp]

Yeah. So it's. It's a thing. It's a thing, Jesse. But I want to believe that there's good in Jesse. And I want to believe that, but it's just not his time to settle down. He's not that.

[Dolores Catania]

I think, that's all.

You're not a bad guy, Jesse. Me and Tamara want you to know you're not a bad guy. I would not want my daughter.

You're just misunderstood. Exactly.

Just misunderstood. And you're just not ready. So don't make that commitment to somebody. Lead them, you know, be just. You know what? You know what, Jesse? My advice to you is be honest. And if somebody wants to be with you, it's on them. But don't mislead a girl, because that is karma you don't want.

Because this season from our big talk with him just now. Yeah, maybe we should have him on and maybe we should give him a little pep talk. Girls talk. Come on, Jesse, don't make us. Let's make that happen badly of you. You know, maybe nobody ever sat him down and said, you gotta watch. You know, you're gonna pay in the end. You don't get away with these things in life. And there's a way to do it. You can have what you want. Just don't take the choice.
