Delta One want to know the secret to success around the holidays? Two words. Duracell batteries. Because giving someone a gift that needs batteries without giving them the batteries too. That's not a gift anymore.
B
Plus, Duracell batteries are the only battery brand with power boost ingredients, which are a unique blend of nickel and lithium that can only be found in Duracell batteries.
A
So make sure those gifts have the power they need on Christmas morning and stock up on the only battery brand with PowerBoost ingredients.

A
Foreign. Hi, guys. Welcome to another episode of Diamonds in the Rough with myself, Teddy Mellencamp.
C
And hey, I'm Erica Jayne and I'm really happy you're back.
A
I missed you, my friend. You know how hard it was for me to cancel?
C
Yeah, I do. And see, people don't know this about you, but like, Teddy doesn't cancel anything unless.
A
Yeah, like, I was like, I don't want to say.
C
Because it's like, I don't want to say, but Teddy doesn't cancel unless she's like.
A
I was like, I can't do this. But this is the beauty of our pod. For those of you guys, just to give like an outer look of it is that, like, our producers are like part of the team, you know, like, we are also part of the team that everybody feels so comfortable with each other that I knew, I was like, it won't miss a beat. It'll probably be better.
C
Well, it was nice to have Matt step in because we are friendly. He's back there cackling and laughing at us. So even though I missed you, it was nice to have Matt familiar energy and it was just an easy day to, you know, talk back and forth. And then your house got broken into that night.
A
Can you even.
C
Yes, I can. It's gotten so bad here. Do you know that they were having the community meeting as your home was being broken into? Yeah.
A
And do you know they broke into.
C
A house two doors down before they came to you?
A
Right before they came to us. Then there was the murder.
C
Was there a murder?
A
Here's a murder, like, down the street.
C
Oh, God.
A
Of the two people from American Idol.
C
Oh, that's right. Yeah. The home invasion. Yes.
A
So it's. I mean, I don't know.
C
I've heard Los Angeles Police Department and.
A
For all the people that sent me messages that they think their friend's home was broken into or attempted to be broken into right down the street and send me the information. I've sent all that along to authorities. So.
C
Good.
A
It's been passed along. I think it's just.
C
It's part of the greater problem that we have here in LA that nobody really wants to address. And I'm not being political, I'm just being Honest. Like, the shit is bad.
A
It's a bad. And it's a bad situation.
C
It's really bad when you have your home broken into because something really happens to you. You feel really violated.
A
Yeah. I mean, we were lucky that they.
C
Really lucky.
A
We are really lucky that our, you know, security cams went off and they got scared and they ran away. But, like, even being with the kids and having to hold the kids while the cops come in and shine the light to, like, make sure there's no.
C
One anywhere else to clear your house is really.
A
It's.
C
It's. It's dramatic.
A
It's dramatic. It's scary. But, yeah, I mean, they were in there, like, shining the light on Dove.
C
What?
A
Yeah, the cops. Because.
C
Oh, the cops. I thought, sorry, they.
A
I don't want to confuse it. The cops came in and they're like, sorry, we have to fully clear your house. And I'm like, but Dove didn't wake up. And they're like, we just need to make sure that.
C
Yeah, of course they have to make sure. I mean, they. They have to fully clear your home.
A
And I was like, but I already checked her. And they're like, you're checking her and us checking.
C
Two different things. Yeah, two different things.
A
Sorry, Mrs. Yeah.
C
But how about we eliminate crime? Okay.
A
Let's just have it calm down a bit. But let's speak on a lighter note.
C
Let's do it like men.
A
What is happening? I. Honestly, every time something comes out in the press and you haven't told me, first on the pod, I get a little bit.
C
Okay, okay. Hurt. I understand. Okay, here's what. I met someone, and we went out on two dates, and then we went to get a manicure. Pedicure. This is true. And I don't know what happened. We were just simply walking in Koreatown. Ginny Nail Spa, if you're listening. And I will be there again, so fuck you. And that happened, and obviously we didn't know.
A
Were you holding hands in the pic?
C
Yeah, it was really nice. Like, I. I feel comfortable holding this person's hand, and he's a nice man. This is a. You know, I haven't been seen with anybody in five years, so this is a really nice person, and I enjoy my time with him. He doesn't live here, so.
A
Have you seen him since the manicure?
C
Yeah, I know.
A
Did you meet him through Heidi Montag?
C
I met him. It's really interesting. I saw him on a friend of mine's podcast because I watch everybody's podcast late at night before I go to bed. I saw him on a friend of mine's podcast, and I thought, wow, that's an interesting interview. And then I saw him again on another one, and I thought, God, that guy's kind of interesting. And I saw him backstage with Heidi in London. Just randomly. Just randomly. Because she went on. And then I went on after her. I thought, that's that guy from the podcast. I'm gonna walk up and say hello. So I did. I walked up and I introduced myself, and I was like, hey, my name is Erica, and I think you're. You know, I've seen you on a couple podcasts. I'm a fan.
A
What do I call him?
C
His name is John.
A
His name is John. So I call him John.
C
You just call him John.
A
All right. We have no code name, nothing. John. Hey, John. Nice to meet you. Wish I would have known about you prior to the pod.
C
Listen, listen, It's a friend. Friend. It's a nice thing. Let's not. Yeah.
A
Oh, but let's dig into me all the time.
C
Well, you are farther along in that journey than I am, so.
A
Yeah.
C
Baby steps. Yeah.
A
Yeah.
C
I mean, and I think. I think it's interesting because the pics ended, like. It ended up on Fox News. It ended up, like, kind of everywhere. And. Yeah. So what was a nice, private moment in a nice private thing I was having for myself was ruined.
A
People love to see it. No, Even on Sunday, I went to dinner with. I mean, not dinner. I went to lunch with Edwin and the kids, and I look up, and all of a sudden it's like. And I'm like, now this is going to turn into a whole thing that it shouldn't be. Like, it should just be. Look at this amazing co parenting.
C
Right? Instead, it becomes all of this other.
A
Stuff, and I'm like, this is.
C
I. It. It. Look, it's a price you pay for being in. In a. Having a public life. And we all know that there are just moments when, you know, I was just trying to get a manicure.
A
Yeah.
C
And I was just holding someone's hand. I'm trying to really.
A
Time frame. Do you still have the same nails?
C
No, these are different. These were. We shot opening titles yesterday, so. So these are like jeweled nails for that. This was not that manicure.
A
Hold on. You didn't po. You didn't break the rules and post opening titles this year.
C
What the. Nobody's breaking any rul posting anything. Have you noticed?
A
I have noticed.
C
Yeah. Super quiet on our side.
A
You and at least Dorit go rogue and Post your grand photo.
C
I just, you know, I don't know. This year's a little different.
A
You're just. You're just staying by the rules, keeping your head.
C
Just laying real low.
A
Laying real low.
C
Well, real low. Real low.
A
She's on the low.
C
I'm on the low.
A
But we are here to also recap Real Housewives of Orange county, which.
C
I really liked this episode. I thought a lot got in. I mean, I. I enjoyed this episode.
A
I enjoyed this episode, too. It's. It's strange because I know that this is airing a couple of days after you guys have watched it, so it's hard. But we're going to just give you some of the little snippets of our favorite things.
C
Yes, of our favorite things.
A
First, we're going to go through the taglines.
C
Let's do it. Which one is your favorite, by the way? Ella. Let's go. Like, Jen's life can be hard, but so are my abs.
A
Cute, cute, cute.
C
You go.
A
You're next, Shannon Storms. Beador. For once, the only dogs in my life are my golden retrievers.
C
Kind of cute.
A
Kind of cute. But doesn't she only have one? Yeah, but I get stuck on that.
C
Well, Archie, I know it's a thing, and your brain is like that.
A
My brain is like. But you have only one golden retriever.
C
Well, maybe she's had more in the past, and we just don't know. She has two.
A
That's fine.
C
She has Archie and whom?
A
Oh, she has two dogs. Troy, I'm so sorry.
C
My sincere apologies. Is he not available to film?
A
Apparently. Troy, do you not get Kevin a day?
C
No, none of them do.
A
No.
C
Emily Simpson, I may not be your cup of tea, but I'll bring you an espresso martini, love.
A
So do you think that's why they do it? So if you pronounce it like martini, I don't know.
C
I was just making it up.
A
Well, it's been the only time it's worked for me.
C
Okay, well, do you like espresso martinis?
A
I mean, I haven't had an espresso.
C
You're up, but you're down. Yeah, I like up, but down.
A
I feel like it would become kind of an issue for me. Espresso martinis. Because I don't sleep well.
C
That's. You don't.
A
Oh, so then I'm having a. Like, I could do one. Right.
C
Well, that's all you should really do anyway.
A
What do you mean? I'm more of like a two to three drinks a night when I'm out.
C
What do you drink?
A
I drink mimosas. Mimosas. I drink Aperol Spritz.
C
Okay, so far these are pretty light. Okay. These are like sparkling chick drinks. I thought you were gonna say, like, I have three whiskeys.
A
No. And not a night.
C
Like, there are some of our friends that get down like that.
A
There are some of our friends that. I don't do it.
C
I don't do that. I mean, anymore. Because I had to put the brakes on that. But, oh, by the way, I'm gonna take. I. I love these mushrooms. Shout out to Nootropics.
A
Oh, Nootropics.
C
Nootropics. Nootropics. I have that.
A
They sent me some. Yeah, yeah.
C
In the bars.
A
Yeah, the bars. Yeah.
C
Let me have them. They're awesome. Oh, my God. Check it out. To the lady that DM'd me. That's who it is. Neau t, r, o, P, I, C, S. I think that's it.
A
Yeah, get after it. Heather Drew Brown. I love life in the Hills, so I always take the high road.
C
That's expected.
A
Does she live in the hills of O.C. i'm such, like, a critical thinker.
C
I can't, you know, I'm not that familiar, but I would imagine she lives up somewhere high.
A
Okay, okay.
C
Let's see now. Because she's rich.
A
She's rich, honey.
C
Rich, honey. Gina, I may work in real estate, but that doesn't mean I'm buying what you're selling. Selling.
A
Cute. Cute. Katie, I swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but my truth. It's like when I said, I'll never do your dirty work, but I was doing everyone's.
C
That's a revelation. I mean, I wasn't expecting this confession. Girl, don't tell on yourself now.
A
Well, I didn't know I was doing everybody's.
C
Well, you found out the hard way.
A
Well, I found out. Bitch.
C
You found out the hard way. Tamara Judge. I'm taking a hard look in the mirror and my reflection is still hot.
A
I made fun of her this morning.
C
What'd you do?
A
I just said I. This kind of embarrassing. Well, but she. I mean, I get that it's a throwback. She already did something about being hot. So the first one was, I'm the hottest housewife in Orange County. Then what was the other hot reference? Housewives come younger, but they don't come hotter.
C
I don't really like young housewives. I don't think that it's a smart thing.
A
So you didn't like me?
C
I do like you. I'm saying you're wise beyond your years and some of us aren't.
A
But yeah, I mean, it. It is. All the taglines are. They're creative. It kind of fits to what they are, but it really kind of all cringe.
C
Do people always ask you, like, how do you come up with your tagline? And I'm like, it's a collaboration between the woman and the producers. You can change little words and things like that. But it's also reflective of your season. Like, what. What's going on with you. Yeah.
A
So you and you go like, at least for me, two of the seasons that I was on, I went into a closet and like read like 20 lines.
C
I do that in my. My closet too. I used to do that in all my closets. Go in the closet and read these lines. Okay.
A
Okay. So I would just read them. And by lines, I mean the. Our taglines not.
C
Cuz there's several options and then ultimately you don't know which one's being chosen.
A
And you can say no, though. Like, there was a couple that I was absolutely.
C
No, there are a couple that you just scratch out because it's just like, hey, that's. That ain't red. You know, that's too much.
A
But this episode was pretty good. It starts out with Katie and Gina meet up to get scalp treatments. Gina has accepted Katie's apology and wants to move forward, but does not fully trust her.
C
Agreed.
A
I also want this scalp massage.
C
Yeah, you should get one.
A
They have one at Pellicure, which is amazing.
C
I love Pellicher. I can't do the scalp massage, but I'll do something else.
A
Oh, you can do the body scrub.
C
I'll do the body scrub just because my hair colored all the time. Like can't pull on it. But yeah, I know. I get color every 14 days. I have to be careful.
A
Well, can you tell me something about having blonder hair? Why does it want to turn orange so quick?
C
Well, you need to tone it. You just need. Or use a purple shampoo or something like that.
A
It's really a pain in the butt.
C
Because I'm like, I'm keeping icy blonde is. Is a job.
A
So you use purple shampoo how often?
C
Once a week.
A
What kind of.
C
I'll give you the name. Unless they're paying us. I ain't saying.
A
I'm like, listen, somebody's gonna want this advice because there's a lot of us out there that have orange hair.
C
Well, yeah, you need to. You should do purple shampoo to take the brass out and to take out the orange and yellow, take the brass out. And you can do it like once a week. But be careful because it does deposit color and it can. It's a little bit on the drier side. So you need to like do a mask as well.
A
Do you think in like two to three months time I'll have like the Drew Barrymore pixie by then?
C
Yes, I do. Your hair looks like it's growing pretty fast.
A
All right, I'm in for it.
C
I like it, though. You're giving me. Don't take this the wrong way. Like Mia Farrow, Rosemary's Baby.
A
No, I love that one. I'm fine with what Matt said earlier. I wasn't.
C
What did he say?
A
I'm not gonna call her out. But it's like.
C
Did he say Sandy Duncan in the Peter Pan? Oh, God.
A
He said the fitness. Like, what's the Susan Powder?
C
Stop the insanity. Wait, Matt, that is actually. And since fitness is kind of your thing, girl, we need you in a unitard and some like.
A
Oh, my. Next week I'm wearing a unitard. Hold on. What did you wear?
C
Dare you.
A
I will wear it.
C
I'll get into 80s shit. I'll put my hair on a side pony and get it in.
A
Okay, fine. 80s next week. 80s, 80s.
C
That's an agreement. Remind me. Text me though, because I got to get my look together.
A
Yeah, her look's going to be better than mine.
C
No, it's not.
A
I'm just saying I got to remember filled in.
C
I love that we need to put like, gel.
A
We need to.
C
Because Su and Susan Powder's hair was.
A
Like, like gelled and up.
C
Up.
A
I mean, I always get the best people. Normally I get Kate plus eight.
C
Oh, hell no. When? We better not have that. That wedge. That's not coming like the Karen. Like the. We're not giving you that wedge.
A
Here's the thing about being a great gift giver. When you find something truly perfect for everyone on your list, you almost don't want to give it away.
B
That's what happened with my quint order. Everything so soft and well made. I'm seriously tempted to keep all of it for myself.
A
Quints pretty much has your whole list covered. Mongolian cashmere sweaters for $50 when you'd normally pay $200 or more. The kind you'll wear on repeat.
B
Then there's the denim that goes with everything. Silk tops and skirts for when you need to look put together. Cashmere beanies and SC& down jackets that actually keep you warm.
A
The Italian wool coats absolute top of my list. They look designer and are made with premium materials. But like everything at Quint's, the price won't make you panic. We're talking way less than other brands charge.
B
By working directly with trusted factories that maintain high standards for both craftsmanship and ethical practices, and by cutting out the middleman and markups, Quince is able to pass those savings straight to you.
A
I can't tell you how much I'm loving my new cashmere sweater. I will be wearing it a lot this holiday season and getting one for my daughter. Slate Find gifts so good you'll want to keep them with Quince.

C
All right, here we go. Moving on. Tamara and Emily meet up. Tamara thinks Gretchen looked like an episode of Toddlers and Tiaras at the Hot pot lunch. I'm just gonna say, big fan of Toddlers and Tiaras right here. However, Tamara, you're onto Something.
A
Yep.
C
Emily thinks Tamara always tries to rationalize her actions. She does.
A
She does.
C
Emily is correct here.
A
Yeah.
C
Tamara has an explanation for everything. Sometimes it's right, sometimes it's wrong.
A
And that's just how it goes.
C
That's how it goes.
A
Then, Jen, Heather, and Shannon meet up for lunch. Shannon received a text from Katie claiming she hadn't shared the recording with anyone but her husband. But on the phone, Alexis told Heather that Katie played the recording for her. And Jen. Jen claimed she was not there when the recording was played. Katie says she has never hung out with Alexis alone.
C
So much of this. Come on, Heather Dubrow for putting this together. I really liked Heather this episode. Jen, I don't know if you're not remembering, but you did it. And, you know, Bravo's good with the old backup. They. They love a flashback girl, so we need to apologize for that right away.
A
And why not just say, yeah, I was there, but.
C
Or if you don't remember, if you say, hey, I don't know. It could possibly not be. I'm not quite sure if I remember. We did have. We did get in a fight about it. I said, I'm not quite sure. What?
A
Because you said you didn't remember, but you have a good memory.
C
I know, but I didn't at that time. I said, it's possible. I don't remember.
A
I'm talking about the time on the stairs, not the time when I cried, by the way. When I go back to the memories.
C
Okay, look, I'd spend a lot.
A
She's like, I don't know. I don't.
C
Hold on, hold on.
A
I don't even remember what we were fighting about.
C
It's not important. But I just remember that I didn't remember. And then we had a meltdown.
A
We had. We had a meltdown. Well, I had a bigger meltdown because I left.
C
I know, but it's okay.
A
But this is what I'm gonna say. If we're gonna keep harping consistently on Katie lying, we have to call everybody out when they lie.
C
Go ahead, Keep going.
A
So let's call Jen out when she's lying. Let's call, like, Shannon, the other night was on watch what happens live. Lying.
C
What'd she say? Didn't watch.
A
She said that, you know, she essentially, she was coming after Katie, and she's like, I have never lost it on production or anybody. And we. Everybody knows that's not true.
C
No, that's not true.
A
If we're gonna do it, like, if we're all gonna. I. I truly believe that Katie is getting iced out 100%, I. I truly believe.
C
But there are reasons to ice her out, in my opinion. I see why these women are icing her out.
A
But then everybody needs to pull their pants up and take a.
C
And just take responsibility if you made a mistake.
A
Yeah. And tell us. Don't make us have to go through the backtracking of. Was Alexis there? Was who there? Who else came?
C
So Katie says she has never hung out with Alexis alone. Help me out here. Is that true or false?
A
That could be true, but that's why she's saying that Jen was there. Why were people so close to their table at that restaurant? I didn't like that they had to apologize.
C
I didn't like that. I don't like that at all. And I'll tell you something. When you go to shoot the shows like this, like, it's just not good, because people who are at places that we're at and then they listen and then they go. It's just bad. I wish we didn't have to do that.
A
They were crammed in. I mean, they had to apologize to.
C
The people next to them, to the people. I'm actually kind of shocked they left it in because we've apologized to people too. Yeah, Like, I'm really sorry.
A
I'm really sorry.
C
Ruining your fucking night.
A
Well, we are embarrassing. Then Heather's having a birthday party for.
C
Herself, which I love. Have yourself two or three, you know.
A
Do you mind? Months later.
C
No, I don't care. Like, whenever. Like, who knows?
A
Whenever you get around to it, whenever you're filming. Have a birthday party.
C
When. Of course, when you're filming. Have two or three. Dorit and I celebrated three times. You know what I mean? So who cares? At this point in my life? I want to sell them. Whatever.
A
But do you know what I kept thinking about when they were talking about the price of this birthday party?
C
I didn't like that.
A
Well, they said three times the amount of 35,000. So what is that?
C
Three times three is nine.
A
Nine. So.
C
Four times three times four is 12. That's what I'm saying. Three times four is 12. So it's 120 grand.
A
One hundred and twenty grand. But then what is the other thing we listen to about money on this episode? That completely baffled me regarding money. This is a quiz.
C
I'm stuck.
A
Jen's son, right, signed for that loan.
C
I wanted. I wanted to die for that child. I.
A
That's the same amount as the party. And this child, Heather Dubrow, could have essentially paid for Jen.
C
And he's going to be a young Marine and he's signing.
A
It's not even his own college.
C
Whose is it?
A
It's his brothers. It's not. He's not. I think he's signing off on his.
C
Brother'S college USC tuition. That's what it said down on the lower third. I'm going to tell you something. Dawson is his name, right?
A
Yeah.
C
Hey, Dawson, I'm sorry, babe. Like, you're a great guy, but like what Ryan said, which is you want to have a life if you want to have a car. Ryan was giving him good advice, which is like, dude, this is too much for you to take on as a young kid. You're going to be a Marine. Do you know how much they make?
A
Well, I want to know.
C
I've gotten some schooling lately and these VA benefits and that shit fucking blows.
A
Well, it made me pissed at Jen's ex husband.
C
Me too. How dare you let that happen?
A
How dare you do that to your son on purpose. It's. I would understand if it was for his college.
C
Well, that's fine.
A
His own college then. He's making a choice.
C
Well, he's investing himself. He's investing in himself. But to do that for your brother, whoever this brother is, you better fucking be a fucking brain surgeon.
A
You better be valedictorian and then become some sort of a surgeon and help your brother out later on.
C
You really have to.
A
The pressure is on.
C
The pressure is on. And Dawson, that's a really lovely thing for you to do, but my God child.
A
Yeah.
C
Way to saddle yours. I just cringed for Dawson.
A
I couldn't believe it, but I know.
C
And Ryan made a very good point.
A
I have to say. I can't help it.
C
What? You're liking Ryan.
A
Ryan's not driving me nuts this season, which is good. Not driving me nuts?
C
No.
A
I mean Jen's driving me nuts because I think that she has to have a better memory if she can comment that much on Instagram.
C
Oh, stay off the Instagram. Just let it be. What it's going to be me or her? You.
A
I was like, are we fighting?
C
No, not you. I'm talking about her. Like, how about this? Shoot the show. Whatever happens happens. Don't go back on social media and try and clean it up.
A
But do you think she is fibbing a bit and acting the way she's acting because she noticed that she was kind of a favorite last year and now she just wants to keep up being the favorite?
C
I think that's an individual thing. I can't speak to her motivation, because I don't really know. I don't know her. But I think sometimes when you feel empowered by the audience, you're willing to step out and comment a little bigger than usual mistakes. Make bigger mistakes.
A
Then Katie talks about spending time with her son Max. Katie got crap for letting her son decide where he wanted to live. This is the part of Katie I wanted to see. I can't believe she opened up so much about it.
C
Well, and I don't think that they should be giving her a crap. Kids should decide where they want to live. I actually like Katie in this moment. And we shouldn't be giving her shit for whatever she had to do for these kids to live wherever now. Then you can't go around recording people. You can't talk to bloggers, and you can't isolate yourself on a whole cast. Now, how hard it is to take an entire cast to not want to work with you, that's like some real work. You've done some very hard work, right?
A
Yeah. I mean, I had to put in a lot of work. Just kidding.
C
Well, you. You did. I mean, nobody ever did not want to film with you. That is not true.
A
I was kidding. I met somebody else that we didn't want to film with.
C
Well, that's her fault. Well, yeah, that's on her.
A
That's on her. But no, I think that Katie, when she's in her moments alone and she's sharing about her past, I'm so interested in what she has to say.
C
And I think it comes from a good place because I think she was really not in a place where she could take care of the kids. And she did the right thing. And, hey, Mom's like, don't go back and criticize her for that just because she had to make a tough choice. You don't know all of the circumstances, and maybe you were able to work it out differently. She did what she had to do, do.
A
And now clearly they have a good relationship because he's coming out here.
C
Well, she's kept it. She's kept working on it, and she's kept it up. Happens in life.
A
Yeah.
C
And families and they come back together and kids come back around. Like, stop with the judge.
A
But do you think Katie's doing all of this trying to investigate video, do all of that so she can try to make a real friend on there because Gina isn't it? No.
C
I don't know what. I don't know what's inspiring Katie to do all this shit, but it's really Bad. Whomever's coaching you on this, if you're being coached, don't do that. And if it's coming from inside, don't do it either. Stop.
A
And then also, if you are going to do it, then have a good response. At least you know, at least if you're going to do it. Have. Like, what did. What did Emily say about Tamara this week? She has no rationalization. Ratha.
C
Ratha. Yeah, she doesn't. And she just tends to apologize. I'm sorry. Well, don't do shit.
A
You know, then it's just like, you're like a dog who got in trouble. You're just like, oh, you're beat down. But, like, beat. It's too much. It's too much. Then Emily, Shannon, and Gina go bowling with their significant others.
C
Wait, so Shannon and her new man Adam from Love Hotel show matching bowling shirts. And Shannon had eliminated when she was on Love Hotel. Here's what I love. We've seen three of these Love Hotel contestants, and, like, I don't remember one of their names. How about this? Why are they trying to push that show on us?
A
I don't know. I didn't watch it the first time.
C
So why are we watching? I feel like if you sign up for Love Hotel, you gotta come on one of these shows.
A
You got. You gotta keep. Well, I wanna know. All these guys live in oc. Are they flying in for this?
C
I never watched the show. Apparently, it did. Well, congratulations to the women that were on it. I love to see women winning on ratings. However, I don't need to see. I mean, it's cute. It's cute.
A
You thought it was cute? Those matching outfits. You would do it.
C
No, not the matching outfits. I think it's cute that they bring the guys on. It's a cute idea, but I don't want to see it again.
A
No, I don't want to see it again. And. But don't worry, we do see it again. This episode.
C
Why we see it? No, we.
A
We see another. That's a different guy.
C
I know. That's. The whole thing is, like, we see that it's a rotating cast. I do like that she's like, oh, I'm not sleeping with him.
A
Like, would you want to date any of those guys?
C
No, I would not.
A
Me neither.
C
No. But my taste is a little different.
A
So they go bowling. Then Shane asking Shannon if she was going to crash when she got home. I don't know if that was intentional. Like, a little bit of a bit.
C
It was not intentional. Shane's not that guy.
A
I don't think it was.
C
You realize.
A
But he realized right after, right?
C
No, no, he. He's a. He's not doing that. And then Gina questions Adam incessantly, which is cute.
A
It's cute. But it kind of felt like a bit. That felt like a bit to me.
C
It was a bit like, is.
A
I don't know that she's that quippy naturally?
C
Nope. Felt a little forced.
A
It felt. And then it was like, oh, this is getting good traction. People are laughing. No.
C
Jen and Ryan are still working through their parenting styles together. Dawson is going off to boot camp for the military. Jen is proud of him, but also sad he's leaving. Yes, you should be sad.
A
It's scary, Jen, your ex husband having your son co sign on another son's loan. Up, up.
C
Not cool. Not cool. You put that. You put Dawson at such a disadvantage. Like you're saddling him with all of this debt he does not need. He's going into the military. They make no money.
A
But I think this. I think Dawson must have something where he just really wants his. His dad. And you know, this is.
C
They want approval.
A
Wants. Wants approval. Because, like, I think Dawson was the one that was, like, staying in the one bedroom apartment with his dad.
C
He's loyal. He's loyal.
A
Then Heather and Tamara meet up for lunch. Heather thinks Tamara has been very calm lately. Tamara has been going through a lot with therapy and everything going on with Teddy. Teddy. Why did they have to show all these embarrassing moments with you guys? Yeah, but because they weren't moments. They were tick tocks.
C
Well, you know, it shows your relationship. You have an authentic relationship with Tamara. You guys host several podcasts together, but.
A
Then show us doing things we would actually be doing. Not like our tiktoks that are to be like, listen to the pod. Dun dun. Like, yeah, so cheesy. And I was in a bikini and one.
C
You look fudgeing great. What are you complaining about?
A
I hated it.
C
I loved it.
A
But I also wonder, like, I think Heather has a way of allowing women to decide, like, their way of handling things. Like she never gets involved. Like, she's never.
C
But I like that.
A
I love it.
C
I like that about her.
A
It makes a good show.
C
Of course, that way you're not, you know, directing someone's energy. You're allowing them to react authentically.
A
I do too. And I'm liking Tamara this season.
C
I'm not. I don't feel like Tamara of last season is showing up this season so far. I mean, it's episode three. Who knows she could come in here and do whatever.

So now we get back to.
C
Heather has a birthday party and she told Terry that she spent four times the amount on this party than she did on her Nobu party. So we've done some quick math. That would be 120k.
A
And that's a lot.
C
Yeah, it is a lot of money.
A
It's a lot.
C
It's a lot of money.
A
And.
C
But they make a lot of money.
A
And there wasn't. I know, but to have that on one party, not that much money.
C
We've seen it done.
A
I mean, we've seen it done. But when I, when I see it done, I think about the times that I couldn't even get the right glasses because I was like, I'm not spending the extra money for stems.
C
But can I be honest with you? Like Heather, they, they made it. I mean, we were all kind of there. Yeah, they've been really fortunate. So this is what they can do. And if that's our birthday party, that's great.
A
I mean, it looked like a fun party.
C
It looked nice. I would have enjoyed it. I mean, she really did pull it out.
A
It was the second housewife show that we've seen this past two weeks where the party that they've had was once in a church.
C
I didn't like that. I felt like, are we looking at, like, Christian Broadcasting Network? Like, tbn?
A
I just watched the Duggar family set, second season.
C
Oh, is it good?
A
It's called Shiny Happy People. It's like the. I, I, I can't, I can't watch Righteous Gemstones. No. Would I like it?
C
I think so. I'm gonna start.
A
Okay.
C
Did you watch, like, Tammy Faye and Jim Baker or was that before your time?
A
Before my time.
C
Yeah.
A
But I mean, you've got to watch tiny happy people at least. Just you could start with season two.
C
Okay. But it is, Is it great?
A
It's great. But I was, I was thinking about that. I was thinking of Real Housewives of Miami in the church. And now here we are at Heather's birthday in the church.
C
You know, we had someone have a cardiac event in a church in Spain.
A
Oh, yes, I recall. Maybe it's not good for housewives.
C
I don't think we should be anywhere near churches.
A
No.
C
Let the Lord let rest or something.
A
But. So all these party things are happening and we're just waiting for the moment.
C
That we're all there for, which is Shannon and Katie.
A
Which is Shannon and Katie. And also I'm like, is Tamara coming? Are you coming?
C
I look, I like it that you don't force people to come. Like.
A
But I want to know if she. I'm waiting for. We get it at the end.
C
Well, here's. I listen. When I was in a bad place with somebody, I didn't go.
A
Yeah.
C
I didn't go. Like, you were not going to catch me there. Like, I ain't showing up and pretending. You.
A
But I think that's the thing. I don't think if she shows up, I don't think there's going to be any pretending.
C
No.
A
Which we know she does show up because we see a blurred face and then we see somebody have a break with Tamra.
C
Yeah.
A
See them walking in. We're gonna get to and talk about Shannon and Katie. Sit down. But before that, I think Joe De la Rosa is the blocked out face who's season one.
C
And that's Slade's girl. Right.
A
And yes. Which I think will probably lead to drama with Gretchen. Gretchen. Which. How are you feeling about Gretchen? Because Gretchen went online and said this whole thing about how, you know, they just asked me so Many times. It was an offer I couldn't turn down.
C
Okay, great. Don't explain yourself. We don't care.
A
We don't care.
C
Go ahead. Do it. If that's what you want to do, just do it. Show up and kill it.
A
Show up and kill it. And. I'm sorry. That's actually what a negotiation is called.
C
Just do it.
A
You. You get offered an amount, and then.
C
You say, okay, or you say, I.
A
Would like this amount, and then they come back to you with this amount. That's how all negotiations work.
C
100%.
A
And I. You know, offers you can't turn down when I'm not trying to be a dick and have my girl Tamara's back here because I'm just. You know, I. I'm. I'm blindly fighting for her Bias. Bias. But, like, haven't we read that they were having a little bit of money trouble? Like, how much is too much to turn down?
C
I'm staying.
A
I mean, not much.
C
I'm quiet on this.
A
I don't think she's getting, like, Julia Roberts money to be.
C
Ain't nobody getting that. That's what that. Ain't nobody getting that.
A
Yeah.
C
Despite what you've heard, I'm a good friend, guys.
A
I'm loyal. So I'm gonna go for it no matter what. Can't help myself.
C
Come. Okay. So then she. So Shannon brings her other friend Phil. She also met him on Love Hotel. He seems nice, but Emily talking about his.
A
He wanted to be on the show really bad.
C
Oh, did he?
A
I could feel it.
C
Oh, is this wrong for me to say, but did he have a little cheek filler, or is that just his bone structure? He felt a little. Or a guy. He felt a little up. You know, I'm not. A little. Plastic surgery.
A
I'm not. No. I've never gotten, like.
C
I think it's one thing. I. I think it's one thing to, like, be neat and well groomed.
A
Oh, I love that.
C
Yeah. To be, like. To be neat and well groomed. But guys don't need that.
A
I don't need to see that. There's, like, a divot in your face.
C
Yeah. I don't. I just.
A
I don't need it.
C
I, like.
A
I don't want to know. Just dudes. I'd rather see wrinkles.
C
Yeah. I'd rather see, like, a. I just. I'm a girl. You be a guy.
A
So now we're gonna get it into the biggest part of what this entire episode has led us up to, because it was. Even though I liked this episode.
C
Wait, we're not gonna talk about how Gretchen broke Slade's dick?
A
Oh, shit, I forgot about the dick fracture. Sorry.
C
Okay.
A
Is that possible?
C
It says it really isn't a fracture because the penis isn't a bone. However, you can break your penis if you severely bend it or hit it while you have an erection. Okay. And this happens when the erectile tissues tear. Surgery is required to treat with stitches used to repair the tissue. And if not treated, it could result in a curvature of the penis and difficulty urinating. So I know someone who fractured his dinger, and they had to deglove it, which means you have to go down, tear it off, fix it, and then sew it back.
A
When you say de glove, I think of, like, circumcision, but not kind of.
C
Yeah, like going down and you know, and then.
A
And then fixing the.
C
Fixing the part.
A
And then Slade had that.
C
I don't think exaggerating.
A
Maybe he just sprained.
C
Well, apparently spray a penis sprain. But I bet then you have a curved penis.
A
And why'd she need to tell everyone? And she. Then she acted out the curve. Oh, God.
C
What?
A
Please tell me you saw their social media.
C
No, I don't. Look at that ship. What is. What happened?
A
Oh, I'm. I'm only gonna say because I'll say something wrong.
C
Is it them as a couple?
A
No, Jen and Gretchen. Okay, go and do this. Like, this is what it's like to fight for yourself. And then they do, like, just so many inappropriate things on their. They've deleted it. Let's put it this way.
C
Oh, so. But it got a great response.
A
Yeah, but it makes me question. I mean, Gretchen, this doesn't surprise me, but it made me question Jen's motivations or something. Yeah, like how she's not. Like, this is a bad plan for me. Ah, so now I just. I have my radar on. I have my radar on after this.
C
Someone sent it to me. I'm sure it's captured somewhere in the universe.
A
I may or may not have it.
C
Okay, I knew. I knew you would. Okay. I knew you would.
A
Okay, now you get in and talk about the Shannon and Katie.
C
Okay, so here was my favorite part of the whole thing, which is why they saved it for last. Shannon and Katie sit down to talk, and Katie sincerely apologizes. I'm a pause on that. Shannon tells Katie what she did was illegal. Possibly. I mean, recording someone without their knowledge. Yeah, I need a full legal opinion. Katie makes excuses for why she recorded Shannon. And she did. Katie then tells Shannon she never let Alexis, listen to it. That is not true. And it's bad. Shannon tells Katie that she is now in the category of John Jansen, and she's worse than Alexis Bellino. And Tamara Judge just got a drag. Old Tamara in there, however, she's worse than Alexis Bellino. Here's what I want to say. Shannon's really upset, and she has every right to be like, that was an active lawsuit. It was a lot. And I wouldn't forgive Katie for that.
A
I probably wouldn't forgive Katie there, but Katie, just have a decent response to something.
C
But you can't. But let me ask you this. What good number one did you think that was going to do? And then you said, I just showed it to my husband. You shouldn't be showing it to anybody. And why. And you.
A
Why can't Katie just say what. I would respect her more if she said, like. Like, if you did that and you were acting like an asshole and we were filming opening titles or whatever it was, and you were just out of hand, and I filmed you because I didn't know any better. And then you caught me, I'd be like, erica, I don't know if I'd actually do this. I'm just saying I would appreciate watching this better. Erica, you're acting like an asshole. And I wanted to make sure that other people saw. Our bosses saw it.
C
I would.
A
You would rake me through the coals, but at least we'd have a real answer.
C
You'd have an answer, but. And then to say, I just showed it to my husband. And Shannon brought up a very good point. Katie said, I was on a meeting, and Shannon brought up, you canceled a business meeting to record me in a meeting.
A
For what?
C
What business?
A
As Erica would say, for what?
C
For what? Or what?
A
Or what?
C
What? What are you gonna do about it? She's worse than Alexis Bellino and Tamara Judge. And Shannon walks out after yelling at Katie.
A
Well, according to the Sun, Shannon had to be told to cool it after filming this as she was taking her anger out on the crew. We also heard there was some anger issues a couple seasons ago with Shannon, where she's gonna kind of yelling at the crew.
C
Yeah, I mean, listen, we all get frustrated with everyone. The crew gets frustrated with us. I get. Listen, I'm snappy. No, but you can't, like, full on.
A
You can't.
C
You can't full on lose it on them.
A
You also can't say, like, I'm not filming this. I'm not doing this, or I'm done.
C
I'm like, that really, the walking out, it, it, you know, I've walked out.
A
But you have to walk out on camera. Like, you have to own your walking out. Like, I can't do this. I'm having a hard time. Like, not like I'm filming this right now.
C
I need to process this. No, girl, if I had to pro, if I could listen, I can't even. If I could get through what I got through. You can get through that.
A
I can't even process my next sentence.
C
Going through a lot too. I mean, you're going through like heavy.
A
But I'm liking it. I appreciate it.
C
I was entertained. I liked this episode.
A
I think this season is better than last season.
C
I like it. I mean, I, I can't. Look, I'm not going to judge because it's just episode three. So it's, it's a long road to go. But I do, I do like the first three episodes so far. I think it's good.
A
I do too. Well, thanks guys for tuning in to another episode of Diamonds in the Rough. If you have any questions, thoughts or concerns, make sure to leave them in our comment section for us to ignore. Thank you.
C
Thank you.

Host: iHeartPodcasts
This episode features Teddi Mellencamp and co-hosts recapping the latest episode of Real Housewives of Orange County (RHOC), dissecting housewives’ taglines, breaking down drama among the cast—particularly surrounding Katie’s infamous recording—and offering honest, behind-the-scenes perspectives only fellow housewives can provide. The discussion is candid, witty, and layered with honest anecdotes about public life, reality TV pitfalls, and personal growth.
The conversation is playful and unfiltered, filled with pop culture allusions, self-deprecating humor, and sharp, insider commentary about what really happens behind Real Housewives' cameras. Both hosts shine as housewives who can laugh at themselves, call out hypocrisy, and get real about the oddities and challenges of reality stardom.
This detailed recap gives a lively sense of the full conversation, from serious crime talk to scalp massages, and from tagline roasts to explosive reunion-table arguments—a true Bravo fan’s treasure trove.
