Hi guys.
Guest Speaker
Welcome to another episode of two T's in a Pod. This is last week's episode of the Real Housewives of New York Season 15, Episode 9. It starts out at UBA's pigeon picnic. That's like a tongue twister. UBA's picnic. Pigeon picnic. Bryn suggests a game where the women share a rumor that they've heard about another woman in the group. This gives the women an opportunity to respond and set the record straight. The first rumor is that Jessel tricked Pavit into marrying her. Jessel explained that this is true because her work visa was about to expire. Although they were already dating, she sped up the process by having a legal marriage a year before their actual wedding ceremony. Oh, Rebecca's beliefs are brought up. Rebecca clarifies that Judaism is her religion and Scientology is her philosophy. And then Psy's rumor is that she broke up a marriage working for David and getting pregnant while she he was still married. Sy states she met David six years after his divorce and is not a home wrecker.
Tamara Judge
Geez, six years is a long time.
Guest Speaker
But I have another Question. Are we just going to ignore the fact that Bryn just randomly brought dick shaped lollipops to the picnic?
Tamara Judge
And why'd they blur them out?
Guest Speaker
I think it was too phallic. It's like the ones we saw.
Tamara Judge
Dickie was sucking on it. Vicki was sucking on one once and they showed it.
Guest Speaker
Well, I don't know. Just a casual picnic with some dicks talking pigeons. Then Raquel says that Bren told Raquel that Aaron and Rebecca were trying to find the leaky pigeon. Aaron feels that Raquel is singling her out and becomes frustrated. While explaining the reasoning behind her and Rebecca's decision to pull the pregnancy prank. Bryn insists she was part of the prank. But Aaron argues that Bryn didn't know the pregnancy was fake. She couldn't have truly been in on it. Bryn says she didn't need to be tested like that. But clearly she failed the test. In your opinion, is Bryn in the prank or not in the prank?
Tamara Judge
Well, she was tipped off that it was a prank and then she added to it. So how is she not in the prank?
Guest Speaker
I do know that if I never have to hear the words prank or pigeon again or leaky pigeon ever again, I'll be fine with it. I will be fine.
Tamara Judge
What did you. Off topic, what did you think about Jessel's new confessional inspired look from the 1960s pillbox hat?
Guest Speaker
I didn't mind it.
Tamara Judge
Really?
Guest Speaker
Well, I don't remember it. So it's telling me if you remembered.
Tamara Judge
It, you'd mind it. She had a little round hat on the side of her head up here and she. It was like 1950s, 1960s. I'm not sure.
Guest Speaker
I think after seeing Doritz wearing a satellite dish on her head. Maybe I've just gotten.
Tamara Judge
That was at a costume show party, though.
Guest Speaker
It was not. That's not a costume. It was a theme themed.
Tamara Judge
Whatever. This is a confessional.
Guest Speaker
Well, people go all out in their confessionals. Then Aaron and Jenna meet for lunch. Erin says she was approached by Glamour magazine to tell her college abortion story. Given the current state reproductive policies. Aaron is nervous in the interview coming out because how cruel the public can be. And Jenna shares that she also had an abortion when she just started her career and they bond over that.
Tamara Judge
Yeah, I mean, she was very brave to talk about it because this world right now is just so damn opinionated. And I'm sure that she got a lot of nasty messages sent her away.
Guest Speaker
But she probably also got a lot of people that felt less alone when they saw that. Or less ashamed.
Tamara Judge
Yeah, I mean, there's two sides to it, but unfortunately, that's the mean, nasty ones that are allowed.
Guest Speaker
Yeah. Then. Then she shoots the interview sharing her abortion story for Glamour magazine. She said she found out she was pregnant just after moving to college at 18. She didn't tell anyone in her life until her mom a year later. And at this point, her dad still didn't know.
Tamara Judge
Doesn't know. Yeah.
Guest Speaker
And I think she said that her mom said that she had one as well. Then we're at the art gallery with Jenna and Raquel. Raquel is confused why Aaron is so upset that Raquel called her out for the leaky pigeon prank. Raquel hasn't talked to Bryn or Aaron since the picnic. Do you understand why Raquel is upset at Aaron?
Tamara Judge
No, I don't. This whole leaky pigeon shit has just got me so sideways that it's like, to the point where I'm like, I'm so sick of hearing this. I don't know why anybody's mad at anybody at this point.
Guest Speaker
And was it just me, or did you see a little bit of sexual tension between Jenna and Raquel? A little bit.
Tamara Judge
But I think it might have also been just playing around or something.
Guest Speaker
Well, I don't know. Jenna said I'm allowed to have a crush. And then the legs.
Tamara Judge
Well, Raquel's pretty hot.
Guest Speaker
I mean, they're both hot. But I don't know.
Tamara Judge
I just don't want to talk about this. I mean, if we have to hear about the leaky pigeon and the prank all season long, I'm going to.
Guest Speaker
There's no way. There is no way they could do it to us again. This has got to be the last episode we talk about it. I mean, UBA tells PSY that Aaron called UBA to say she felt UBA had singled her out by saying that it was funny. UBA wasn't the one being gas lit this time. I feel like, bravo. You need to tell these women that they need to have these conversations on camera.
Tamara Judge
Yeah, on camera. Too complicated. And, I mean, that's really their policy. But shit happens. People go out, things get sad, and then the audience is left with, you know, shit. What are they talking about? And I think that there could be a policy, like, if it doesn't happen on camera, don't. Let's not talk about it.
Guest Speaker
Yeah, but also, it's like we're getting half stories, so we don't understand the magnitude of why somebody's so upset about something when we're getting a partial smidgen of a story and then they're all kind of making up shit to get out of it.
Tamara Judge
Yeah. We just need more from New York. This season just doesn't seem to be working.
Guest Speaker
No. But the episode ends where Erin ends up telling her dad about her abortion story. And he's so lovely in this moment and he supports her. And then the heartbreak when they say that her dad passed away four months after filming this scene.
Tamara Judge
Especially when she had said, you know, oh, my dad, he's having some health issues, but he's going to be fine.
Guest Speaker
Or even at the beginning when they sit down, she's like, oh, my gosh, you look good. You're not green or something, you know?
Tamara Judge
And he did not look great. Did not look great. But so sad. I'm not even sure what he passed away from.
Guest Speaker
I think that it did show the incredible relationship those two have.
Tamara Judge
Yeah. And then her mom, too. Her mom is sick as well, so it's got to be a tough year filming both her parents sick like that.
Guest Speaker
But it's really hard.
Tamara Judge
That's been incredibly hard to watch back.
Guest Speaker
Ugh. Well, yep, that's kind of the end of the episode. I think that we're gonna get like a more of a turn up. We'll recap that the next episode later this when we're recapping the Salt Lake cities. And then what else? We have Beverly Hills. We need to recap.
Tamara Judge
I know. Well, we're doubling up on some of them because we were off. So there's. It's busy days. We are going to be in studio this week, which is fun tomorrow. And we're going to recap Southern Charm now. Oh, my God. I went and refreshed Southern Charm. I watch it here and there, but not consistently. So I watched probably 18 to 20 episodes of Southern Charm and oh, my God, these guys on there.
Guest Speaker
I mean, everyone on there.
Tamara Judge
We need Shep. Like, I know that you went to school with Shep. We have Shep coming up, right?
Guest Speaker
Yeah, we have him on December 16, I think. So we have them. I mean, but this is so much like some of the way that the guys are dressed and the way the things that they say just reminds me so much of, like, the amount of.
Tamara Judge
Drinking that goes on is insane. I mean, it's like whiskey and hard alcohol and. Oh, God.
Guest Speaker
Yeah. We also have Kelly, Ben, Simone coming on, which is good because we have that recent headline about Raya, so we got to kind of dig into that. We've also seen some hot mess express videos from Britney from Salt Lake City. And then there's like all these comparisons between her running through the streets of New York and then Kelly, Ben, Simone running the marathon. Like, it's just. It's been a lot.
Tamara Judge
It's been a lot. And then we have Jingle Ball on Friday.
Guest Speaker
Yeah, we do have Jingle Ball. So many great performances you're wearing. Yeah, you do? I do. I'm gonna look like a shiny disco ball.
Tamara Judge
Oh, you are. I don't even know what I'm wearing. I have so many. I'm just looking up there. I have so many dresses. I just. I might wear pants this year.
Guest Speaker
Yeah, you know, we'll. We'll see. We'll see. But I am excited to go and I'm taking some of the kids and all that fun. All that fun jazz. But until then, tomorrow.
Tamara Judge
And then. Oh, tomorrow night coast party at California Adventure.
Guest Speaker
Oh, yeah.
Tamara Judge
You're not going to that.
Guest Speaker
I cannot. It is too late.
Tamara Judge
I know. I'm going to be in LA tomorrow, going. I'm going to LA tonight and then spending the night meeting with you, doing some podcasts at in burbank at the iHeart studio, then coming home and then taking Sophia and two of her friends to California Adventure. And then Spencer and his girlfriend are gonna meet us there and that's gonna be very exhausting. But Thursday.
Guest Speaker
But it's gonna be so much fun. We're positive spice today.
Tamara Judge
Yeah. Especially since I don't feel great. So it's gonna be great.
Guest Speaker
Z pack. Can you send me one? Because I really not feeling my best but. I know but that by tomorrow I'll be ready.
Tamara Judge
A lot going on.
Guest Speaker
All right. Bye, Tim.
Tamara Judge
Bye.

Episode: Pigeons, Pranks and Picnics (RHONY Recap)
Release Date: December 3, 2024
Host/Authors: Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge
Podcast Platform: iHeartPodcasts
In this episode of Two Ts In A Pod, hosts Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge delve into the latest happenings of The Real Housewives of New York (RHONY), specifically recapping Season 15, Episode 9 titled "Pigeons, Pranks and Picnics." Teddi and Tamra offer their unique perspectives, dissecting the drama, conflicts, and emotional moments that unfolded, providing listeners with an engaging and thorough analysis.
The episode kicks off at UBA's famously quirky pigeon picnic, a setting that sets the tone for the episode's blend of humor and underlying tensions.
The picnic becomes the stage for several key interactions and revelations among the housewives.
Bryn introduces a game where the women share rumors they've heard about each other, aiming to clear the air and set the record straight.
One of the primary rumors involves Jessel allegedly tricking Pavit into marriage.
Jessel admits the truth behind the rumor, citing her work visa's impending expiration as the reason for accelerating the marriage process.
Rebecca takes the opportunity to clarify misconceptions about her beliefs.
Psy faces rumors regarding her breakup and actions during David's marriage.
Sy counters these claims, asserting that she met David well after his divorce and denies being a homewrecker.
A significant point of contention revolves around a pregnancy prank orchestrated by Aaron and Rebecca.
Aaron accuses Bryn of being complicit in the prank, while Bryn defends her involvement.
Aaron [06:22]: "Bryn didn't know the pregnancy was fake. She couldn't have truly been in on it."
Bryn [06:26]: "I didn't need to be tested like that. But clearly, I failed the test."
Teddi and Tamra debate Bryn's role in the prank, questioning her awareness and participation.
Jessel's new confessional-inspired look becomes a talking point, sparking opinions about her style choices.
While opinions vary, the hosts discuss the broader trend of elaborate confessionals in the show.
A poignant moment arises when Erin shares her college abortion story with Jenna, highlighting the show's capacity to tackle sensitive issues.
Erin details her experience, emphasizing the emotional toll and the impact of public perception.
Tragically, it is revealed that Erin's father passed away four months after filming this scene, adding a layer of sadness to her narrative.
Raquel remains distant from Bryn and Aaron following the picnic incidents, leading to further friction.
Both hosts express confusion and frustration over the ongoing feud, highlighting the lack of resolution and clarity.
The hosts observe subtle flirtations and possible romantic tensions between other housewives, adding another layer to the show's dynamics.
Tamra Judge [08:53]: "And was it just me, or did you see a little bit of sexual tension between Jenna and Raquel? A little bit."
Teddi Mellencamp [09:19]: "Well, Raquel's pretty hot."
The episode concludes on a heartfelt note with Erin sharing her abortion story with her father, showcasing the supportive relationship they share. This moment underscores the personal and emotional depth that RHONY occasionally reaches amidst its usual drama.
Teddi and Tamra reflect on the challenges faced by Erin, including her parents' health issues, adding a somber tone to their recap.
Towards the end of the episode, Teddi and Tamra shift focus to upcoming recaps and episodes from other shows like Southern Charm and announcements about future guest appearances.
They also touch upon upcoming events such as Jingle Ball and personal plans, providing listeners with a glimpse into what to expect next.
In this comprehensive recap, Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge navigate the intricate web of relationships, conflicts, and emotional moments that define RHONY's latest episode. Their candid discussions, peppered with insightful quotes and observations, offer listeners a vivid portrayal of the show's dynamics, making it accessible and engaging even for those who haven't watched the episode.
