Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Hi guys. Welcome back to another episode of the Twat Seat. Today we have Captain Jason from Below Deck down under in his show just came out. Season four premiered and we're going to get the dirt from him. Hi Jason.
Captain Jason
Hi. How are you?
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
I'm good.
Captain Jason
How are you? Very well, thank you.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Are you doing the press tour today?
Captain Jason
I'm done. I'm done. I'm done. I'm finished. This is it.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
This is it. You left the best for last. Is that what it.
Captain Jason
Exactly. Get all the trash out of the way.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Well, Teddy's really bummed that she couldn't be here today.
Captain Jason
I'm so.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
I know. I mean, you think back one year ago almost to the date is when we were in New Orleans and she was texting you and you guys were going back and forth, and now we knew. I'm like, what are you doing, Teddy? And now we know it was the. The tumors talking.
Captain Jason
Yeah. How is she, anyway?
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
She's doing good. You know, she's tired a lot from the immunotherapy, but the immunotherapy is working. It's just, you know, the side effects from everything, and she'll be on it for probably another year,
Captain Jason
you know?
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Yeah, I know.
Captain Jason
She's just like. Yeah, she's just what a facade, you know, like, what a.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
She's so strong.
Captain Jason
Your strength.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
You had your own battle with melanoma as well, right?
Captain Jason
Yeah. Yeah. And look, Teddy's been a huge, big thing about that. You know, as you said a year ago, we. We started chatting and. And I put a post out there, and then she reached out to me and just said. I said, good on you. Not many people do that. And. And then the store. Her story started unraveling at that point, and then I knew. I found out what that meant. What. What she meant. Because a lot of people were messaging me about their, you know, their story. Yeah. And then throughout my process, I did another post about a follow up, and then other people were messaging me about how they'd gone and got skin checked and found out they had melanoma because. Because of the post. So. And then I end up doing the emceeing at the Melanoma Research foundation last October, which is something she's heavily invested into.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Yes, she is.
Captain Jason
And yesterday I just did a nude photo shoot, which she has done as well.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Oh, she did? That was it a little over a year ago, maybe two years ago. She did that. So we're going to see your nude body on Times Square on the.
Captain Jason
I'm so disappointed, too. I'm so disappointed. Why? Not going to be vain. I'm not going to be vain. But I started going to the gym in January for the first time, and I've got this mountain of a PT trainer and his goal was to get me bigger. And I said, I don't want to be bigger. I'm happy where I'm at. I just want to just start getting into the gym. And I think then I started getting addicted because he's huge. And I started getting addicted to going to the stadium. And then.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Yeah, yeah, then you start getting body dysmorphia and all these things.
Captain Jason
I was fine. This is where I wanted to be for the shoot back in December.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Now I'm like, tell them to do a little Photoshop. I'm sure you look good now.
Sixth Bureau Advertiser
You.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
You do yoga, right?
Captain Jason
I was, yes, I do. I started doing Pilates in January, too, for the first time.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
That's what I want to start doing. I just. I don't have the time.
Captain Jason
But I haven't got the. I haven't got the. What's the word? I'm. I'm. I'm a little bit embarrassed to go
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
into the motivation, you know? The motivation.
Captain Jason
Not the motivation. It's like going into the gym. I was. I'm so. I'm embarrassed. Like, going into.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Stop it, you look amazing classes.
Captain Jason
I'm embarrassed. It's like. And my daughter's got it, too. I'm trying to train her not to, you know, like, I. You know, once you're in there, it's fine. It's just like that first entrance into a new, new world. It's like, am I the awkward one?
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
No, you look great.
Captain Jason
It is. But I. I did. I did. I've done two classes and I like it. And it's. It kind of suits me, too. I've had a lot of sports injuries over the time, so I. I'm. I'm actually kind of on a upward trend getting through my sports injuries. And, you know, my health is good.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Have you jumped on board with all this peptides that everybody's talking about?
Captain Jason
Yes, for two years now.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Do you do the BP 157.
Captain Jason
That was a purpose, though. I. Look, I've. I've had all my cartilage taken out of my knees through football. I've had patients on them. I've got a L5 disc in the back. Problem. I've had a really bad shoulder from football, rugby league. And that's all coming. That's all coming good now. And I can only put it down, really.
Narrator (Sixth Bureau)
Mobility.
Captain Jason
And it's got to. It's got to come down to something. It's obviously something's doing it. And my knees are good. I still can't run, but I haven't got the pain in the knees anymore. Back feels good. Shoulders. Shoulders feels amazing. So wow.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
You're going have to tell me which one to use. You have to send them to me because sponsor. I know, right? There's just like so much information. It's like the wild, wild west out there on social media about peptides and it's like people that are not doctors are talking about it. I'm like, I don't know which one are good.
Captain Jason
That is such a good question. I, I reached out to a doctor in Bali because I'm in Bali now about a month ago and there's another company in Australia I reached out to too because of that reason. I've been doing them. I went and had my blood tests but I've never really had more follow up. I think it's important that I need to start following a proper guideline of what I need and why I'm doing it rather than. Rather getting into the hype of, yeah, oh, that guy says it's great, so let's just get on it. And you know, I think it's important to go and get a full body check for everything. Really?
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Yeah.
Captain Jason
You know, I know it does cost a lot of money, but at la,
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
I'm sure somebody will do it for free. All you have to do is post.
Captain Jason
I'm terrible at that. I'm terrible at. I'm trying to move into that.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Get a social media, social media manager to do it for you.
Captain Jason
That would be nice. I need a manager. I need everything. I haven't got anything. I run solo. So.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Yeah, I do too, for the most part. So how are you feeling about season four premiere?
Captain Jason
That's great. I really am. We don't, I don't. As a captain, I don't see a lot of it. Probably only probably say 30, 40% of it. Especially after the next morning after they've gone out, I'll walk around and try and do my little recon, pick up on mannerisms and have my own judgment of what's going on. It's not until I probably get to this point, especially when I see the trailer at Bravo Con. I'm like, what? And now that I'm doing the press run and I've been doing a lot with Daisy, I'm listening and hearing more and it's getting more exciting. When I saw that first episode and Daisy said, look, it's going to be like that the whole season. I went, really? And then I'm putting it all together and I'm like, it is. There's not going to be any lull. It's. We're that first episode, not just with the Housewives, but behind the scenes with us. The crew are going to be. It's going to be full throttle the whole way.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Let's talk about the Housewives. So obviously, Teddy and I and Dolores, we recap Salt Lake City. And I didn't realize at the time that Bravo cameras from the Housewives show and then your cameras. There was like a double crew there.
Captain Jason
Yeah, look, the producers came down from Bravo and one or two cameras, but it was mainly the blow deck cameras that were already in situ. So it. A few. There's a few extra people obviously looking after the Housewives. But still, even if you add one or two extra people on top of what's already there, there's a lot of moving parts going on.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Right, Right. How was it with these girls?
Captain Jason
It was great. I think I said to someone the other day, as a classic example is I was down in Sydney with Heather and Whitney for a Bravo event, and I spent a week with them, and it was. It was like a comedy duo watching, sitting with them, and it was so funny. So when Heather rung up and then when she wanted to bring everyone else, I kind of. I was looking forward to it, but there was no comedy. It was just a full charter of. Of noise. So, yeah, it was.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Can you clear it up for us? Did you make out with Heather Gay?
Captain Jason
No. No, I didn't. That's not at all. Do you think?
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
I feel like she insinuated and then I. You were on watch what happens live, right. And you, like, debunked it. You're like, no, that didn't happen. And then she backtracked.
Captain Jason
Yeah, look, it's. That's. She. She'd obviously slipped up in those words when she was on the. On the back deck and I watched the show and I remember texting. I was, oh, that's great. Leading into Bravo con. And then I was asked that on Bloat Watch, what happens lives with Andy. And I just. I just went, well, what happens in Sydney stays in Sydney. And that kind of escalated everything.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Oh, you knew exactly what you were doing.
Captain Jason
So I'll have to own most of the flack that came out of that.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
What? I don't know if you're single or if you're in a relationship, but would you're single. Would you date a housewife? Or is that like, you know, fishing off the company pond?
Captain Jason
Oh, like, I live in Bali, you know.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Yeah.
Captain Jason
And look, I'm. I keep saying natural. It's the wrong word. I'm, I'm more, I don't know. I, I want some, you know, someone in the garden planting food and you know, like.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Yes.
Captain Jason
Around adventure. You know, it's like I, I don't need to be seen. I'm.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
You need Craig from Southern Charm. That's what he does. Yeah. What about. Maybe there should be a Real Housewives of Bali.
Captain Jason
Well, there should be two. Oh, Caroline and Sergio. They. They're there. They're in.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Yes. I love them.
Captain Jason
They're in a. They're in America now, but I, I met them at Bravo Con. What a lovely couple. And they told me they're in Bali. I'm looking forward to catching up with them. They're in America now. Doing, doing something. But as soon as they're back in Bali, I'll be there and I'll be definitely catching up with him.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Yeah. Aren't they building like a hotel or something in Bali?
Captain Jason
Yeah, they showed me a quick, quick something. A little big retreat or something there.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Yeah, that's pretty cool. Yeah, they're, they're pretty, they're pretty busy, those two. They're always doing something.
Captain Jason
Lovely people talk to us too, you know.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Oh, they're amazing.

Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
So when you were on the. When the housewives were on your. Your ship, is there any housewife that caused any problems on that trip?
Captain Jason
Well, look, we know Angie had a lot. We had to look after her a lot. It wasn't a problem.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
She kept falling.
Captain Jason
Well, I think I'm glad it only went for, you know, three days. Was she going to have an injury every 24 hours?
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Right. Didn't she? I mean, you were. You were a yoga instructor. Instructor. You were a medic. You were a captain.
Rebel.com Advertiser
You were.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
You kind of did it all on the show this.
Captain Jason
This season. We had Joel come back and now he's a. He's a captain now and, you know, his stripes off and come back and be with me for another season. That says a lot about, you know, his personality and character. So that allowed me not have to manage the deck as much as what I do in those early stages, especially charter one. As a captain, we always get, you know, a lot of flack, us Captains, about micromanaging. We have to at the start. There's so many moving parts and safety that we need to be involved at the start with these new crews. So Joel being there, the deck was fine, and then I could tend to being a medic.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Yeah. How long are you out at sea? Like, during the year?
Captain Jason
Look, Blow Deck has been giving me absolute everything in the world. I chose to take two years off work to be with my daughter because I didn't see her for two years during COVID So I had a phone call and Blow Deck happened. I thought my crew convinced me to do it. So I did two seasons, and the two years was up that I nominated to be with my daughter, and then blowdeck kept going. So at the moment, I'm with my daughter probably 80% of the year.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Oh, that's nice. How old is she?
Captain Jason
She's 11.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
That's a great age.
Captain Jason
Yeah. Well, if I was at sea, if I was a captain right now full time, I would probably be at sea for 80% of the time and seeing her for 20. So it's a tough life. So.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Yeah, that's what I was wondering. You probably out at the sea for so long, like, how is it to have, like, a normal relationship? You know, it. I would imagine it would Be pretty difficult to maintain a, you know, a wife or a girlfriend and be out at sea all the time.
Captain Jason
Yeah, it's a. It's definitely a huge concern in our industry. We tried to get a point where we want to be rotational, which we might be two months work, two months off. But you're always carrying work back home, and then you're always preparing for work when you're at home. So it's. It's a tough life. It's not something that was. It wasn't the first chapter in the captain's handbook that I got. It should have said at the end of this, seven years of getting your certification, you'll never see your family. That would have been a nice. Should have been a bit bold.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Does your daughter want to follow in your footsteps?
Captain Jason
Well, she dives with me now. She. She. She's only. She did a certification when she was 10, so she comes away on little adventures.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
I love that.
Captain Jason
I raised with the audience. I raised money to build schools in Bali made out of recycled plastic waste. So she came and opened the schools with me, and we've gone back and visit them. We just went up. I'm starting a new thing called Current of Change, which just dropped my first one on YouTube this week, where I go to places and talk about locations about it's going to move into a travel and food and get to know the area, but also talk to people that are doing great things for the environment, coral restoration, you know, food. I just talked to a company that just started up up, and they're building school furniture out of plastic waste in Indonesia. So I want to go and combine my love of travel with a purpose. And that's kind of what I want to use my platform, too. And that's like a big thing I've learned out of this melanoma that, you know, this platform can be used for something, and that's about it. Yeah.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Speaking of the melanoma, after Teddy was diagnosed, I had melanoma as well. And afterwards I went to the dermatologist. I'm like, you need to make sure it's not anywhere else. Like, you need to, like, look at every crest, like, crevice, everything. It was like. Did that scare you?
Captain Jason
Yeah, yeah. They said, yeah, you can come back in six months. I came back in three. Yeah.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Yeah. Because I never knew until Teddy that it could metastasize. I didn't know that.
Captain Jason
Yeah, I have another one here. And. And he said, no, that's fine, that's fine. I. He said, come back in six months. I was back in Sydney. I'm like, I really want to come and see you. And he said, oh, you didn't have to come back for six months. I said, I really want to check this one out again. I'll see you in six months, maybe in three.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
So is there anything you can tease about the rest of the season?
Captain Jason
Tease is a different. Well, I'd like. Nothing's ever. Nothing's ever the same as the way it starts. Put it that way. There's always changes. The one thing is that we have this great crew that come together with a lot of experience, and you'd think that that would be the sounding board for all the other crew to look up to and follow their way, and maybe they're the biggest problem throughout.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Is there any other Bravo show that you could see, like, a crossover crossover coming back?
Captain Jason
Daisy always talks about Housewives of Potomac. That would be good. She always mentions that. So I'm not up on that. So I'll say that. I would say it wouldn't be that. It wouldn't be that entertaining. But I would like to have the boys on Shep and Austin and all that.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Oh, they'd be great.
Captain Jason
The west and all that. That would just be just one ton of fun.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Yeah.
Captain Jason
Eggshep fishing. We'll go diving. Craig will play around with some cushions. Austin will cause some trouble, get a bit jealous.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
He will. He will.
Captain Jason
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Now, who's a better chef? Stew. Chef Stew. Is that. Am I saying that right?
Captain Jason
Chief Stew.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Chef Stew. Daisy or.
Captain Jason
Or Asia?
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Asia. Which one?
Captain Jason
Well, it's Aisha went from stewardessing to chief stewardessing with. With our franchise when it started up, so then she moved on to onto the Mediterranean season with Sandy. Look, she was fun to work with. We got on so great. And Daisy has got a lot of experience now. We have Chef Ben on this year. Now, I think it's important to mention that. That he's coming back for a long time, and the audience loving the fact he's coming back, but he's a lot to handle. And we had Kate Chastain. She could handle him.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Hannah, do I hear Kate's coming back?
Captain Jason
Some Facebook? No.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Oh, I thought. I heard that. I thought, wow.
Captain Jason
Good.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Good for her.
Captain Jason
Yeah. She needs to be part of the Bravo regardless. She's. She's so witty. But look, I don't think many people could have handled Ben. Look, but Daisy can. And their. Their relationship throughout the season is so. So funny to watch. It is just. It's like two. Two people just coming together, like Just like, they. Are they going to clash? Are they going to clash? And then they come away and then they are just constantly. It's like, I don't know if Aisha would have tolerated that. Daisy did. She had a point to prove. She was coming off a bad season on sailing where she really wanted to prove herself, so she really stood up and stood her ground. So, you know, good credit to her for having me. You know, not. Not sitting back on her heels.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Let's talk about. Do you watch Traders?
Captain Jason
I've started catching up on it because I was just on watch what happens live with Candace. And I look, I was like, I cannot believe I saw that. I need to do more about this because I live in Bali and everything's through VPN and everything. And I'm like, okay, right now. Now I'm going to get right in. And I. I need to get. Get there quick because I'm really enjoying it.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Oh, I think you would be great on it.
Captain Jason
Well, they asked me that the other day, and then I start. I watch what happens live, and then Candace said, stop, stop. You're giving yourself away. But because I'm the captain and I'm a bit of a, you know, sit back on my heels. Like, I'm kind of. My motto is, you know, the quietest ax is the sharpest ax. You know, I say enough. I don't say enough. I collect a lot of things.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Well, that's a good way to play Traders.
Captain Jason
Yeah, I think so.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Yeah. Because it's usually the loud ones that they're. They're out quick.
Captain Jason
Yeah, I could. I can fluctuate, and I like to get to know everyone. I wouldn't. Now they'll never put me on as a Trader. Now they'll probably put me on as a faithful. But I'd love to be a trader.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Well, you know, Bravo has a new show, Love Hotel, and it's girls. You know, it's like four or five housewives, and they have all these suitors, like, all these men. But I think they should do it with guys like you and Shep and, you know, like some of the Bravo guys. And then. Would you be up for that?
Captain Jason
Definitely. I like that. I. Yeah, look, I. Yeah, look, I live a very simple life in Bali. You know, I'm not up with all that, but I to. I would like to be kind of one of many rather than be the one. You know what I mean?
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Yes, yes. Less pressure, right?
Captain Jason
Yeah. Yeah.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
The only thing you do is fight over a girl. One of many girls.
Captain Jason
Right. I can do That.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
I mean, everybody wants to know about your dating life. All the, you know, I don't know how many times I've heard a bravocon. Like, Captain Jason's there. Like, let's go see. Let's go talk to him. All the single housewives.
Captain Jason
Yeah, it was fun. I. The last Bravo con, I stayed. Yeah, I was sober the whole time.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Stayed out of trouble.
Captain Jason
Yeah, I was sober the whole time. And I actually didn't go to any functions. I was kind of boring, but I went there with a purpose to give the audience 100. So I walked out of there really proud of myself and just.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Are you saying last Bravo con, you weren't so sober?
Captain Jason
No, no, I've been good. I mean, Asia and I have been really great about it. No, I just. I just wanted to. I just. It's so long after those many days, and that's where you do down. You know, if you're in the green room, margarita, and then, you know, next minute it's 10 o' clock at night, you're having another one and another one day.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Drinking through the night for like three
Captain Jason
or four days, exhausted, and you go, you go, and all the audience are there and you just. In your mind, you're like, you're signed because you want to have a break. Well, I didn't have that. I. I went in there and I was just like, Yeah, I was 100 the whole time.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Did you come home from Bravo Khan sick? A lot of people did.
Captain Jason
No, I was fine.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
You're fine?
Captain Jason
Yeah, I was boring, but I was fine and I really had.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
I doubt that you were boring. I'm sure you were great.
Captain Jason
I gave everyone 100, so I felt good.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
That's awesome.
Captain Jason
But I am. I am single. I'm 20. 26 is a year. I. Fraser, from below deck, he tried to get me on Raya, which is a. An app for people. And then apparently you got to get accepted. And it's been six months. I'm not even accepted on that, so.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
I've heard people complain about that. Like, it takes forever to get accepted.
Captain Jason
Yeah, well, obviously we need to find some other way, because that's not working.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
That's the one. Like, I think. Was it Shep talking about. He's on it. Yeah. Yeah. So you're up for dating app. So you want to be in a relationship?
Captain Jason
I've got in at that time. We brushed on my daughter earlier. She's 11 now. She's moved from. In. In a year, it just, like, where did it go? Like, from a year, it went from little island girl to now she's going into Sapporo shops. And she's like, no, puppy, don't come into the shop with me. It's not cool if you're seen with me. I'm like, what? What?
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
I know what happened.
Captain Jason
Where did that come from?
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Like, I feel like at 11, they start, I have a granddaughter. It's actually 11, almost 11. And they start turning into a little young girl. Yeah, they're no longer that. You know, they want to wear crop tops. And I know.
Captain Jason
I'm like, oh, is this acceptable? Last year, she was 10. And she went. She said, oh, papa, I've got to go to the. The pharmacy. The chemist said, what for? She goes, it's girl stuff. And then we went there, and then she went into the pharmacy, she took her of money, and she said, I don't want you to see what I. I buy. I went, okay. Ripped the receipt up, went back home. And she went into the room and locked it. And I was like. I started doing some. I googled. I was like, what's going on here? And I went, oh, wow, do I have to ring her mum? And then she came and she had lipstick under her eyes. And she goes, papa, I think I did something wrong. And I walked in that iPad tutorial on YouTube on putting makeup on. So then I. I try not to laugh because I didn't want to make her feel bad. So she goes, give me five minutes. And she locked the door. And then she invited me back in, but she set up all her makeup and then put makeup on me.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Now, see, you should have put that on social media. How cute. That is adorable. Well, I just want to say thank you so much. I know our time is up, but I appreciate you coming on again. You're always welcome. And next time with Teddy, for sure.
Captain Jason
Please, please. It's great seeing you again. And give Teddy my big wishes and well wishes and hope to see him.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
I certainly will. Thank you. Now go get some sleep. I feel like you work too much.
Captain Jason
Yeah, it has been. It has been a big couple of weeks. So, yeah, I'm gonna walk around Central Park.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
Oh, you're still in New York. That's right. You're still in New York.
Captain Jason
I've had jet lag twice. A jet lag in la, and then. And then the Australian Open was up on in Australia, so I was staying up late watching the tennis. And then I came to New York and I've had jet lag again. I go to sleep in the afternoons and then wake up through the nights
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
and yeah, is it freezing there right now?
Captain Jason
It is, but the sun's shining and I'm gonna go check out Central park and yeah, so my daughter wants to see some snow on FaceTime, so I'll try and find.
Podcast Host (Twat Seat)
All right. Thank you so much. Have the best time in New York.
Captain Jason
Thank you. Appreciate it.
