Teddy Mellencamp
Hi, guys. Welcome to another episode of Diamonds in the Rough with myself, Teddy Mellencamp.
Erica Jayne
And hi, I'm Erica Jayne. And you have a smile on your face and you feel better.
Teddy Mellencamp
I feel better. I can't even. I'm so excited.
Erica Jayne
Thank God. Because you were low.
Teddy Mellencamp
I was on the low, low, low. But I'm definitely feeling better. I have energy. My sister's coming to visit. Like, I have a lot of things to look forward to.
Erica Jayne
All these things are good. Yeah, you look and feel a lot better. Yeah. I'm happy for you.
Teddy Mellencamp
Thank you. Thank you. I mean, I don't look as hot as you. I. Erica walks in and I go, damn, girl, where are you going after this? And she goes, the dentist.
Erica Jayne
The dentist. Well, look, I mean, if you'll remember a couple episodes back, my dentist did come up and talk to me and didn't realize who I was. Meaning that he didn't. Cause I go in there looking crazy, but I don't know, I just felt like I needed to look. You know how sometimes you need to dress up for yourself?
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erica Jayne
It was one of the. And it's not like I'm decked out, but I just needed to pull it together, just to feel something.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. I need to probably do that sometime.
Erica Jayne
Soon, too, I think. Well, you did it at the wedding and then you got Covid. So hold on one second. Like, we're going to have something else for you to go to. That.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erica Jayne
That I can razzle dazzle.
Sandals and Beaches Resorts Ad Voice
Yeah.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. Got to get my hair done soon. Yeah. Question. Do you think I should get just some low lights and highlights?
Erica Jayne
What's the goal? Blonde or what?
Teddy Mellencamp
I think it's blonde, but I don't know that I like the all bleach blonde. Like, I'd rather. Now that it's growing into a pixie. Have some dark roots, but also.
Erica Jayne
Well, I think the thing that you're thinking about is not one tone. So I don't know if it's low lights or highlights or dark roots. There are a couple different ways to go, but I don't think you need to be. Because it's a real look to be one color.
Teddy Mellencamp
And I think one color. When my hair grows as fast as the been growing, which is nice.
Erica Jayne
A lot of upkeep.
Teddy Mellencamp
But it's a lot.
Erica Jayne
A lot of upkeep, and you don't need that. So let's find a solution.
Teddy Mellencamp
I'm thinking, like, remember when Drew Barrymore had that pixie cut and it was like she was kind of Rudy?
Erica Jayne
Yeah. And in the 90s.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erica Jayne
Yeah. I like that. I like that for you. I like. I love a pixie. I had a pixie.
Teddy Mellencamp
You did.
Erica Jayne
I had a pixie.
Teddy Mellencamp
I need to see a picture.
Erica Jayne
I've, like, not shaved my head, but closely cut my hair twice.
Teddy Mellencamp
Twice. Would you ever do it again?
Erica Jayne
No, no. Too old. You know, my hair. I'll tell you why. Today we were blowing my hair out, and ly is like, hey, like, you got a lot of breakage. Yeah, I know. And it's just like when you shoot the season of housewives trying to, like, do interesting, your hair gets up.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erica Jayne
My hair needs a rest.
Teddy Mellencamp
I know. Do you have extensions in now or.
Erica Jayne
No, no, These. Like, maybe a clip in. I don't. But. But, like, you don't have no keratins or anything. No, but my hair is not. I think. I mean, I hate to say this, but when you go through menopause, your hair gets a little bit weaker.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yes. You know, Well, I thought I was going through menopause, but I started my first time having my period again.
Erica Jayne
Oh, from all of the stuff. Yes.
Teddy Mellencamp
It's been almost a year. And three days ago, I was like. Which is probably also why I was feeling even worse. Yes. And then I was like, she's back.
Erica Jayne
Well, wait, how old are you?
Teddy Mellencamp
I'm 44.
Erica Jayne
Oh, you're fine. Yeah.
Teddy Mellencamp
But I thought it was goners.
Erica Jayne
I mean, well, I can imagine all the stress and all this stuff would take it away.
Teddy Mellencamp
But they're saying that that's good news because it means that my hormones are starting to, like, level out and adjust. I'm like, oh, great. But here we go. She's back.
Erica Jayne
Well, that's okay.
Teddy Mellencamp
But I like that I have the energy, because this. We have a lot to get through.
Erica Jayne
Okay, let's get through it. Let's start. Let's start. Episode. What is this? 11.
Teddy Mellencamp
This is episode 11.
Erica Jayne
Episode 11, guys.
Teddy Mellencamp
11. But before we even get into the episode, we have two little things that kind of were all over the Internet that we must discuss.
Erica Jayne
Let's do it.
Teddy Mellencamp
So Giorgio says that's his Instagram name. He did a post and he was talking about Slade Smiley's website for his alleged production company, Grayson Entertainment llc. Giorgio saw a lot of red flags.
Erica Jayne
Yes, it says that Grayson Enterprises. Is it Grayson Entertainment or Grayson Enterprises? Okay, so Slade lists out networks that this production company has allegedly worked with. Sort of like History Channel, cbs, Bravo and NBC. So and Giorgio did say this because I watched it. He was like, hey, these are some big, big networks. Obviously the Bravo, NBC thing, Like, okay, yeah, you know, I could see where you would. First off, I. First off, what are you doing? What productions are you doing? But okay, the Bravo, NBC thing. Like I can see the History Channel and cbs.
Teddy Mellencamp
History Channel and cbs.
Erica Jayne
I mean, where does that fit?
Teddy Mellencamp
Right now all we're finding is that there was a podcast that this company was a part of and it says I'm not too taboo. A podcast with Gretchen and Slade, which was on Amazon is the only thing that Giorgio saw that Grace and Entertainment has produced. Also on the team page.
Erica Jayne
I mean, are these stock photos?
Teddy Mellencamp
They are stock photos.
Erica Jayne
That. And here's the thing, guys, like, I mean not the stock photos, stock photos.
Teddy Mellencamp
Not only that. And then one page is just the template. Like it says, like insert your caption here.
Erica Jayne
I saw that too. Does that mean this is how. I'm curious how Giorgio ran up on this. Has anybody else come up? Has this been discussed before? I know anyone. Let me know. Let us know in the comments. Or if not, how did Giorgio run up on this?
Teddy Mellencamp
Well, cause then he also looked up and saw Grace and Entertainment belongs to an LLC of another couple in V. Also says business has been suspended since taxes were not paid.
Erica Jayne
Good old ftb, honey.
Teddy Mellencamp
Well, it's. It's.
Erica Jayne
Don't be with them. You with the feds or the ftb. And you know why? I'm rolling my eyes, but it's pretty.
Teddy Mellencamp
Clear why Gretchen is the one who has. Is in charge of the mills the bills.
Erica Jayne
Has Slade filed for bankruptcy? Do we know? I mean, I think somebody would have said it by now. Like you filed for bankruptcy. Is he. Can you. I know that if you do a bankruptcy, that child support is a non dischargeable debt. No record of bankruptcy.
Teddy Mellencamp
No record of bankruptcy.
Erica Jayne
Okay, but how does he.
Teddy Mellencamp
That's the thing.
Erica Jayne
And as we get on into the episode, we see, like, what is his income? Where does it come from?
Teddy Mellencamp
What is he doing on a day to day basis?
Erica Jayne
Right. Like, how is he paying for things? Or is she. Which her answer. Gretchen's answer at the sleepover with Heather and Emily led me to believe that she is a number one, the breadwinner, the sole breadwinner. And number two, obviously paying for all the stuff. Which is fine.
Teddy Mellencamp
Which is fine.
Erica Jayne
Which is fine.
Teddy Mellencamp
If that works for you, go out and say it like that.
Erica Jayne
But yeah, if that. Because she didn't want to answer it. But somebody's going to answer it for you. I'm afraid so just say, yeah, I do it.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, I'm in charge of the finances. He helps me manage my life and take care of my daughter.
Erica Jayne
I do like the fact that she has not married him. And that to me is a little bit of a flag for me. Like, you didn't marry him.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erica Jayne
So does he have judgments? Does he have debt that she doesn't want to take on? Probably. Maybe I'm speculating. Don't get mad at me. You put it on tv.
Teddy Mellencamp
But I hope that she's not just letting him run her finances.
Erica Jayne
Well, as somebody who did trust and got fucked, Gretchen, I hope you're not doing that. No, she said she has all of her own money. Wait, did she say they had a joint account?
Teddy Mellencamp
No.
Erica Jayne
Good.
Teddy Mellencamp
They've never had a joint account.
Erica Jayne
And she's always kept her own money. And she did say I didn't want a man to financially control me, which I think is wonderful.
Teddy Mellencamp
Very smart.
Erica Jayne
Wonderful.
Teddy Mellencamp
I kept mine all separate, too.
Erica Jayne
I remember you selling, you telling us that you kept all of yours separate. Super smart. So let me ask you this. And I think that this came up on the show, like, who paid for the grocery? I know it's a stupid thing, but who would go to Gelson's down here and buy groceries? How does that work out? Do you have a signed for us?
Teddy Mellencamp
We had one. We still do. We have one joint card. That is for the kids only. You see what I'm saying?
Erica Jayne
I don't, because I've never had to do this. And clearly I'm a ding dong.
Teddy Mellencamp
So we have one. It's called a divvy card.
Erica Jayne
Okay.
Teddy Mellencamp
And a certain amount is put on there a month. And that's for like the kids expenses.
Erica Jayne
Right. So the two of you contribute the same amount to that.
Teddy Mellencamp
Edwin pays for that and then I pay for any. We quickly go over the divvy.
Erica Jayne
But, like, who's paying the school tuition.
Teddy Mellencamp
Edwin.
Erica Jayne
Okay. Who's paying? The mortgage is split right now.
Teddy Mellencamp
Edwin.
Erica Jayne
Right.
Teddy Mellencamp
And then I pay for all of the extras.
Erica Jayne
Okay.
Teddy Mellencamp
So, like, right now, it's Rosh Hashanah. So our kids aren't in school, so, like, they're at the jumpy place.
Erica Jayne
So you're playing for the jumpy place. Okay, cool.
Teddy Mellencamp
Birthdays, those types of things. I mean, Edwin has always been the breadwinner with us, but I've always kind of kept my money separate. If it's something that I wanted to do, I did it.
Erica Jayne
Right. But I'm sure you probably contributed to the household and to all of the expenses and finances. Yeah, yeah.
Teddy Mellencamp
And, I mean, I'm sure this will all change as things go on.
Erica Jayne
Of course. But this is how it was.
Teddy Mellencamp
This is how it was. And so we're trying to keep everything the same way it was before.
Erica Jayne
I like that.
Teddy Mellencamp
And I'm just trying for now.
Erica Jayne
Yeah, let's just keep it how it's going. It's running. It's manageable.
Teddy Mellencamp
It's. Yeah. And I'm just trying to be a little bit smarter with my money now.
Erica Jayne
Well, yeah. I mean, you know, here's the thing. We all want to be independent. We all want to control these things. But, you know, being adulting is hard.
Teddy Mellencamp
Adulting is hard.
Erica Jayne
It is hard.
Teddy Mellencamp
And especially when you have multiple kids, all different ages. But I can say this. It was very easy for me to answer that question.
Erica Jayne
Yes, it was.
Teddy Mellencamp
Why was it so hard for Gretchen to answer this question?
Erica Jayne
Because she's paying for everything. Cause it was easy for me to say, oh, no, Tom's definitely the breadwinner. And I gave every check I ever had back to him. Now, what he did was that. Clearly, we don't know, but that's how it was. You know, that was Tom's house. It was Tom's firm. It was Tom's stuff. Yes. Every job I got, I gave him the money. But, you know, other than that, like. But it's pretty easy to explain pretty much what's going on around here.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, it's pretty easy to explain. This next one is an Instagram story. I feel like we're going to start getting a lot of these.
Erica Jayne
Ready for the reunion?
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. So Jen Pedranchi did one of those Q and A's, and she. Somebody said, are you ready for the reunion? And she responds, sure. I just show up the day of the reunion. I know some people plot and plan for months. I don't do that. Let's just address all the matters that need to be addressed and hopefully try to move on. I'm sure some will try to unearth skeletons on people. I have zero interest in all of that.
Erica Jayne
What is your take on that?
Teddy Mellencamp
Well, my take on that is I watched the last reunion, and I don't remember her just coming in and moving right on from things.
Erica Jayne
Interesting.
Teddy Mellencamp
So if that's what she's her plan is this season, then let's see how that goes.
Erica Jayne
Well, I think there are different levels, and I think that we both have experience in this talking about a reunion. And please, if you've never done a reunion, keep your comments to yourself, because you don't know what it's like. Yeah, only the women who are on these shows that actually sit down there know what the feeling is. You are watching it. We actually do it. So I'm real confident when I say this. We all know people who do plot and plan. There are others that come in that are like, hey, I don't feel as if I have to answer for much. This year. It was pretty straightforward. So I think that everyone's reunion quote, let's just say prep, can be different based upon what's going on this season. But there are those who take time to really go in and think that it is a. A full court press to, you know, really get at or make up for or hit back at things that you know.
Teddy Mellencamp
But they're not necessarily things that most of the time you have to prep for because you know it.
Erica Jayne
Yes, you do know it. You know, but there are some things that people will throw at you, and you're like, I wasn't even thinking about that. And I've moved on from that. Why haven't you?
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, but were you somebody that would go back and, you know, like, the day before when they'd send, like, five or six episodes to watch right before their union? Did you watch or you just were.
Erica Jayne
Like, When I first started, the answer was yes. Now I look at key things that I think will be end up, you know, at this point, because I have a lot of experience, I pretty much know where the questions are going to go just based on what you're seeing. And then you can go, mm, this is probably nine times out of ten you're gonna get a question about this. So what is your answer? And remind yourself of what was shown to the audience versus what you remember. And also, if you're gonna get into a squabble and other people were there, you can also look at them and say, I think you were there. Do you remember it going down this way because sometimes when you're the lone voice in the woods and you're fighting it out with somebody or you're having a disagreement and others were present, you can say, I'm pretty sure that these people saw this as well. Do you have anything. Since this is what we're here to do, do you have anything to say about this? So we'll see.
Teddy Mellencamp
We'll see. We'll see. Well, I'm excited. You realize that I never even watched last season of Beverly Hills. Cause I was in the hospital.
Erica Jayne
Thank God. I mean, not that you were in the hospital, but thank God you didn't watch. You know, who cares? Oh.
Teddy Mellencamp
So I'm going to have to go back. That gives me an idea. I need to tell me. I need to go back and, like, binge the season because I'm going to have to be recapping.
Erica Jayne
Well, just call me and ask me what you need to know about last season. Not this season. Clarity.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, last season.
Erica Jayne
I can tell you exactly. Well, let me see. What am I thinking, where I'm thinking this is going this year? And obviously, I don't know. I only know what I shot. I think once you watch last season, you'll be pretty. It's. It's not going to be a couple things you may be confused about, but that's it.
Teddy Mellencamp
But I'll be able to pick it up?
Erica Jayne
Yeah, I think so. You'll be able to pick it up real quick. Okay. No, it's nothing there. You may have one or two questions that you're like, need clarity on, but that's it.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. Okay. Good to know. Here's the thing about being a great gift giver. When you find something truly perfect for everyone on your list, you almost don't want to give it away.

We're back in Temecula. Gina mentions that she didn't like how Tamara shit on Shannon last year for her drinking and now takes her away to have a drink.
Erica Jayne
I agree. I didn't like it either. We're either going to. You can't call somebody an alcoholic and then offer them a drink. Let's go get a drink and then say something later. Tamara says something like, well, and I'm paraphrasing so don't fuck me up. Something like, well, she, she knows how much she can drink or whatever she's doing. She's in. Am I right on that? Like she's in recovery or something like that. Something like that. And I don't like that.
Teddy Mellencamp
Like she said Tamara said something along the lines of like, I think drinking is Shannon's love language. I think that was a quote, right?
Erica Jayne
But we don't need to Be encouraging that. Love language.
Teddy Mellencamp
No.
Erica Jayne
You know, she hit a house. Did we ever find out about the molar?
Teddy Mellencamp
The molar's been gone for a while.
Erica Jayne
But why not get a new molar?
Teddy Mellencamp
But why not let us know since last pod. That we did.
Erica Jayne
Yeah, just reach out to us. Let us know, ladies. I may have hit the house, but I was missing the teeth before that.
Teddy Mellencamp
But, yeah, just let us. Let some girls know so we can talk about it.
Erica Jayne
But I don't. I would not. If I were Tamara, and I really felt very strongly about what I said last year about calling for her an alcoholic, I would not offer her drinks or encourage her to drink because it seems counterintuitive and mean. Yeah, it's not good.
Teddy Mellencamp
It's not great.
Erica Jayne
It's not good. Then you draw her back into a thing because, you know she's nine times out of ten, gonna take the drink and then, you know, the alcohol, then.
Teddy Mellencamp
It'S gonna come back because it's just.
Erica Jayne
It's the same old cycle. You either want to break this cycle and move on, or you don't. And the way you don't break it and continue it is by talking about drinking or encouraging her to drink or talk about her dad, who's a drinker.
Teddy Mellencamp
She probably. If she wanted that drink, she was gonna go get it regardless.
Erica Jayne
Right. So she. Tamara, didn't need helper.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erica Jayne
So there you go.
Teddy Mellencamp
So I think that was, like, one of those things. They left what was psychic. Yeah, they left the. Not the psychic. It was like the voodoo person. And then they're like, what should we do? And that's where they went to go get drinks.
Erica Jayne
Yeah. Y' all don't need to be with voodoo, by the way. That can be very spiritually. You can open some spiritual warfare if you with the wrong people. Don't do that.
Teddy Mellencamp
No thanks on the voodoo. Then Tamara asked Shannon what she can do to make things better, and Shannon says time is what she needs.
Erica Jayne
Well, that's all we have. That's. We ain't got nothing, but some of us. It's dark, but it's good.
Teddy Mellencamp
You know what it is.
Erica Jayne
It is what it is.
Teddy Mellencamp
Then we pan to Heather telling Emily and Gretchen that Tamara can be mean when she's upset. And Heather has had difficult people like that in her life.
Erica Jayne
You know what, Heather? I soldiered for you last week when I said you weren't afraid of her. And then this week, you said you were.
Guaranteed Human Ad Voice
I know.
Erica Jayne
And it was because of your dad. And I was like, damn it.
Teddy Mellencamp
I know.
Erica Jayne
I stuck My neck out for you, Heather.
Teddy Mellencamp
She brings up her dad, who would have outbursts in public and he would have random explosions. And then she wanted Tamara to understand that sometimes she acts that way and makes her feel uncomfortable because of her past. I wish she would have said that to Tamara.
Erica Jayne
I wish she would have said that to Tamara. And also in the moment. And it would have explained why she's quiet or she tries to make it go away.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erica Jayne
And then if you say that in the moment, it's far more effective. You say it to the person. It's like, look, when you do that scares the shit out of me. I'm gonna tell you why my dad did this. And it would make me so crazy. So when you do that, it just doesn't. It's not, like, Tamara's fault, but it does. I've noticed this, too. We do. And I don't wanna get all, like, therapy on us, but we do. We take things that happened to us, like patterns that we've unknowingly created, and they do affect us lately.
Teddy Mellencamp
And, I mean, even going back a bajillion years to the time you made me cry.
Erica Jayne
Yes.
Teddy Mellencamp
It really had nothing to do with me.
Erica Jayne
Nothing to do with me. It's how you.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, it's how I perceived one. Like. Yeah, like, just that little snap. It was something from, like, my childhood.
Erica Jayne
Right.
Teddy Mellencamp
I don't like being snapped at.
Erica Jayne
Right.
Teddy Mellencamp
And so I went into a full, like.
Erica Jayne
Right, exactly.
Teddy Mellencamp
I was back to being a little kid.
Erica Jayne
And that's what happens to a lot of us.
Teddy Mellencamp
And I wish I would have had the wherewithal to say then, hey, Erica, I'm not even upset with the way you just talked to me.
Erica Jayne
It really has more to do with. Yeah.
Teddy Mellencamp
I don't know how to process when people talk to me.
Erica Jayne
And I would have said, like, Jesus, like, well, fuck, yeah, you know, because. And also, too, like, I'm so glad that I almost said that my life fell apart. But I am kind of glad that my life fell apart. And I'll tell you why. Because it forced me to go on a journey and look at my whole life. And now if someone said something like that to me, if you said, hey, I don't. Like, I would have been like, oh, my God, how irresponsible. And I'm not responsible for everybody's. You know. You're not responsible for. But I would have been far more understanding and been like, you know what? I'm sorry for that. Like, I didn't. That was not my intention. And I'm Snapping, by the way. I'm snapping because of some shit in my. Yeah, I mean, we're all just repeating old ass patterns, y'. All.
Teddy Mellencamp
And then we're just reacting to what we feel in the moment instead of thinking about it, instead of being like, this isn't a big deal.
Erica Jayne
This isn't a big deal. Let's take a step, step back, not react in the moment and say, wait a minute, what's really going on here? But also, too. That's why you like the show.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. But I wish, I do wish she.
Erica Jayne
Had said that to Tamara.
Teddy Mellencamp
Tamara. I wish she would have said it to Tamara because I didn't like the way she said it to those two in particular.
Erica Jayne
What you mean that she said it to them or the way she said it to them?
Teddy Mellencamp
Both.
Erica Jayne
Interesting.
Teddy Mellencamp
And especially without having said it to Tamara first.
Erica Jayne
I would prefer that she had said it to Tamara. Not looking for an excuse, but looking for an explanation. Hey, when you do these things, it gives me anxiety. And the reason for that is I have history with this and when. And it's not your fault. But I'm just telling you, the way I react when this happens is, you know, deep seated and, you know, and then go work on that if you want to.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. Then the girls in Beverly Hills go to the abbey. Emily is picked up by a man and simulates intercourse, as you should when.
Erica Jayne
You'Re at a gay bar and you're with friendlies.
Teddy Mellencamp
Gretchen is pole dancing and she says she's experienced in pole dancing. And then Emily says she likes Gretchers when she is not playing a praying content.
Erica Jayne
And I. Emily, you know what? First off, why is it called Gretcher's? She called Gretcher's. I don't know. It's kind of cute. Like stretchers. Gretcher's was on a stretcher.
Teddy Mellencamp
But I would take Emily's food shtick. Like taking food inside saunas and gummy worms and stuff all that stuff over saying Gretcher's again.
Erica Jayne
Oh, Gretcher's bothers you that much? We've got Shannon with the cooking, Emily with the food and the purse. Gretchen, praise. What do I do? We're not going to get into it. I'm sure we could come up with some shit. No, I don't want to see the praying content created. I mean, it's cute, I get it, but I don't want to see it either. All right. In the car ride home, Heather, Emily and Gretchen talk about going to karaoke. And Gretchen wonders if they'll Play her song and Heather forgot she had a song. And then Gretchen corrects her and says she has four and that Tamara tried to be a singer and she has the audio. Emily asked when this was, and Gretchen says when Tamara banged blank and insinuates Tamara was married then. Okay, well, what do you know about this?
Teddy Mellencamp
Okay, so.
Erica Jayne
And by the way, you don't, don't. You are a CIA level investigative operative. So I'm just.
Teddy Mellencamp
I think when you get a bleep out of the singer's name, shit must have hit the fan.
Erica Jayne
So someone says it's a Gen X person. I'm Gen X. Are you Gen X? No.
Teddy Mellencamp
No.
Erica Jayne
Okay, all right, Millennial. Fuck off. Was Tamara married at this time? I'm married at this time and I'm fucking somebody, but it doesn't mean anything.
Teddy Mellencamp
Well, I think the thing is, Tamara wasn't fucking somebody. I've never seen a worse excuse for being shady than I wonder if they'll play my song. Like, don't you think that's what she was hoping for in that moment?
Erica Jayne
I think it is. I think she was hoping that they play her song. It would be a nice blast from the past. And she has four, and we all know how that goes.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, I haven't heard any of those. I also haven't heard Tamra's song.
Erica Jayne
Well, I don't think Tamara was. I don't know, but I don't think she was not trying to be a singer or performer or anything like that. It was probably a one off that she got asked to do. So anybody that puts in their best effort, that's great. But the real singer here in this group, in my opinion, is Heather, who's awfully quiet about it. Girl, we know you can sing.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. Then we're back.
Erica Jayne
The band back together. Heather, do it.
Teddy Mellencamp
Come on, Heather.
Erica Jayne
And I expect a song at Bravocon. And I'm not kidding.
Teddy Mellencamp
Oh, I haven't heard anything about that.
Erica Jayne
No, I'm going to sing.
Teddy Mellencamp
You're putting it out there.
Erica Jayne
I, Erica, am going to corner Heather at the right time with no one around, and I'm going to be like, bitch, I know you can sing because our voice teacher told me so. And I want you to sing. Not for anybody else, just quietly for me.
Teddy Mellencamp
So you want your own performance?
Erica Jayne
Well, I just want to. I just want. I know she can sing.
Teddy Mellencamp
I want to hear it.
Erica Jayne
She. She has a voice.
Teddy Mellencamp
Then back at Heather, Sleepover, Gretchen, Facetime, Slade. At this point, I think Gretchen's pretty sloshed.
Erica Jayne
Yeah, you can hear it in the slurring?
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, you can hear it in the slurring. You can see it with, like, the.
Erica Jayne
Throne movements and the.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, all of it. I'm like, oh, gosh. Next thing, she's gonna ask for chips.
Erica Jayne
I'm so angry.
Teddy Mellencamp
He is. He is so excited to jump into this conversation.
Erica Jayne
Well, again, another wannabe orange holder. We've said this before. Oh, and by all means, like, all of you who said I'd never been loved by a man before that ever stuck up for me. You were right. You were fucking right. Yeah, you're right. But not like that. Like, I can handle my own shit. Okay, keep going.
Teddy Mellencamp
Well, then he claims that not only was Tamara recording a song with a singer, and they messed around, they forgot the audio was on.
Erica Jayne
Mic was on. Like, I've spent a lot of time in his studio and that there's audio.
Teddy Mellencamp
Of them having sex.
Erica Jayne
So what did the engineer do?
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, he was just like, hey, hey.
Erica Jayne
Let'S let this roll. Like, nobody loving this, loving this. So did the engineer not. Was the engineer in now?
Teddy Mellencamp
And I'm sorry if this happened and we had to remember this happened. What is it, 14? Between 14 and 18 years ago. It happened in 2010. So how many years ago is that?
Erica Jayne
15.
Teddy Mellencamp
15 years ago. You don't think this would have come out by now?
Erica Jayne
Well, I was kind of thinking that, too.
Teddy Mellencamp
Like, we don't think this would have.
Erica Jayne
Already hit the pages and reality blurb picked it up.
Teddy Mellencamp
It's so great.
Erica Jayne
This fucking show, this life, this housewives universe is so fucking great. I'm telling you.
Teddy Mellencamp
I could just imagine Slade. He's, like, at home. He's got makeup on. He's got his ringer. That's volume. And his on camera phone call. He's ready for his moment with his glasses. With his glasses on.
Erica Jayne
But he. He was ready with the facts.
Teddy Mellencamp
But then he wasn't ready for, like, here's the thing. All the girls were asking was, we want to hear the song.
Erica Jayne
Yeah, the girls wanted to hear the Tamra song. And he was like, well, you know what.
Teddy Mellencamp
The real.
Erica Jayne
What the real Gotcha Gotcha is is that this alleged encounter was recorded because. Okay, he claims there's audio of them having sex. If so, Tamara, you're a rock star star. Put it out. Gretchen says she's never heard. She's never had the audio, but she's heard it.
Teddy Mellencamp
She's saying she's heard the audio, but she doesn't have it.
Erica Jayne
So whose computer is this?
Teddy Mellencamp
Oh, no, she said she had the audio of the.
Erica Jayne
So who produced this shit?
Teddy Mellencamp
There's two different sessions, so I want to know.
Erica Jayne
Who's the session, who ran the session, and who. Where are these files?
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erica Jayne
And how did they get sent the files? If this is a no Hate thing, then who has these files? Yeah, who has these audio files? And how did they get shipped out? That's that.
Teddy Mellencamp
And also the fact that there's two totally separate things that we're discussing here. Yes, clearly, there's this thing from no Hate, where there's music being played. But now, Slade adding in that he also heard the. When did you hear the audio of allegedly having sex?
Erica Jayne
Well, not only that. Who sent it to you?
Teddy Mellencamp
15 years ago. You remember it.
Erica Jayne
So were you in the same session and you heard it in studio, or did you. Did someone send you the session?
Teddy Mellencamp
Was this part of Grayson Enterprises or Grayson.
Erica Jayne
What's llc? I don't know. I don't know. A Van Nuys llc. Guys, I'm just laughing because my life's a shambles. You know, it's okay.
Teddy Mellencamp
It's fine.
Erica Jayne
Don't think I'm being rude.
Teddy Mellencamp
But then they never send the song. All that they. Then they never.
Erica Jayne
All that we never get to hear it. And don't say that you can't play it, that you didn't get the rights to it. Then put it on your Instagram. Yeah, then don't tell me this is what I don't want to hear. Well, we can't play it. Yes, you can.
Teddy Mellencamp
Well, you just talked about it.
Erica Jayne
Well, not only that. Well, we could never get it cleared. Yeah, you can.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yes, you could.
Erica Jayne
Yeah. Yeah. There are many ways to do this.
Teddy Mellencamp
I. I mean, I don't think the song was like, a Tina Turner song. No, no, no. I'm pretty sure.
Erica Jayne
And if you've got her vocals, I. Her isolated vocals and let them out.
Teddy Mellencamp
But then the next morning at breakfast, Emily asks Gretchen if she will ever get married to Slade.
Erica Jayne
This is what we're talking about here. This is the meat and potatoes of this. She and Gretchen used to worry about getting married to him years ago because he was getting caught up with back debt. Valid. She didn't want to take it on in the marriage. Agreed. Good girl. She mentions that they are financially separate. Yay, Gretchen. She pays for everything. And the house is in her name. Okay. Even groceries come out of her bank account. Okay. Hey, that's fine. So you run him.
Teddy Mellencamp
But she didn't fully say that. She beat around the bush saying that.
Erica Jayne
Yeah, I mean, they had to pull it out of her as only Emily can do, but lawyer skills. But these are the things that she said. I don't. I mean, if that's how she wants to live her. It seems to me that she likes Slade, but does not trust Slade.
Teddy Mellencamp
It seems to me like she likes Slade. They have a good life. They have a daughter together, and that's great. And they just want.
Erica Jayne
Because did you see where Emily said, I married Shane? I don't have a prenup. I married Tom. I didn't have a prenup. Yeah, I mean, you know, I don't know about Heather and Terry, but who cares? I mean, you know, they're not going to unravel that anyway.
Teddy Mellencamp
I couldn't tell.
Erica Jayne
Oh, Heather and Terry and her, they have combined finances. Yes. And he says they're one person. And he is correct in that. So, yeah, you're basically talking to one person.
Teddy Mellencamp
Who do you think was more mad, Gretchen, at this being talked about the next day when she had hoped that everybody had forgotten what she said.
Erica Jayne
Or.
Teddy Mellencamp
Or the guy who was having to.
Erica Jayne
Make the eggs, by the way, who I think is the herbal chef at the Denise Richards weed dinner. I think, honey, is that you? Because you need to come. I think that's him. Where he goes, bro, dude, Denise Richards is fucked up. And she was like, go watch your show.
Teddy Mellencamp
Go watch the show.
Erica Jayne
I'm like, we're on the show.
Teddy Mellencamp
We're actually doing the show at this current moment.
Erica Jayne
Yeah, I think that's the same guy. The herbal chef. Is that you, babe? I have his number. I'm gonna text because he needs to cook for me.
Teddy Mellencamp
But I don't think he ever gave them the eggs that they were.
Erica Jayne
No. And I love that. He was like, I ain't doing that.
Teddy Mellencamp
Mm.
Erica Jayne
Mm.
Teddy Mellencamp
He's like. Because I checked all their plates afterwards. And I was like, nope. No one got these.
Erica Jayne
No one got these. These eggs.
Teddy Mellencamp
Eggs over hard.
Erica Jayne
No, no one got them. And he said, I don't do that.
Teddy Mellencamp
Then Gretchen tells Emily and Heather that they got her in trouble. Then they're getting massages.
Erica Jayne
Well, and then. Wait, hold on. Emily says everything between she and Shane is joined and she didn't sign a prenup. Understand?
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, yeah, Got that for sure. And then Gretchen tells Emily and Heather they got her in trouble about bringing up Tamara's audio. Gretchen doesn't want them. And Gretchen says she never said anything about an affair. That was slay.
Erica Jayne
That's not true. Because in the car. Yeah, you may not have remembered that.
Teddy Mellencamp
But then Emily says she took the situation and made them villains. She also says Gretchen and Tamara are the same because they both tried to expose each other's affairs the morning after.
Erica Jayne
Trying to say, look, you said what you said. Yeah, Tamara's gonna find out about it. You should actually go to her first and be like, hey, just so you know, I said some fucked up shit, but let's. Now is this gonna be like expose each other's affairs?
Teddy Mellencamp
This is gonna be. This is gonna turn into a massive thing, in my opinion.
Erica Jayne
I think you're right. I think it's gonna turn into a big thing.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. Because now it's gonna show up. Leading up until now, they've been kind of putting it all on Tam. Tam's bringing up the past, even though Gretchen has slowly been breadcrumbing. Breadcrumbing. But watching this scene and then Gretchen's remorse afterwards, like that panic that this is gonna come bite me in the ass.
Erica Jayne
It is gonna come bite you in the ass.
Teddy Mellencamp
Gretchen's plan all along. I wonder how long she's been trying to get this story out there.
Erica Jayne
Well, apparently since reality blurb in 2017. Now, I don't know that to be true. I'm just saying speculating, so don't get mad at me. But somebody wanted this story out for a long time.
Teddy Mellencamp
Somebody wanted this story out for a long time. And I think it's kind of like a little bit ridiculous.
Erica Jayne
Yeah, who cares? I mean, why are we digging? It's old beef. It's just 18 year old, 17 year old beef. We've talked about this on the show before, about how they're going back and talking about these old things and now you had an affair. Well, you had an affair. The hypocrisy is back and forth. Who fucking cares? It's over. You guys have current lives and that's where it should be.
Teddy Mellencamp
And I don't. And I. You guys can say I'm being biased. I do not think Tamara had an affair with this man.
Erica Jayne
I have no idea. So I can't speculate. I mean, you know, I don't know. I don't know enough to say, don't.
Teddy Mellencamp
Think that there would be audio of a sexual encounter on a. In a studio where you're recording a. No hate ad.
Erica Jayne
That's my point. Like if you were kicking it in the studio and it was 4am and you were with some hot person, you know, and you wanted to suck his dick and maybe the engineer left the mic open. Okay, But I don't think that's what's happening here.
Teddy Mellencamp
I don't think that's what's happening here. I think they're trying to make it into something, into something more kind of like naked wasted.
Erica Jayne
Kind of like naked wasted. Here's the other thing too. If you got this audio, drop it. If you don't have this audio, don't, don't allude to things that may or may not be there.
Teddy Mellencamp
And also, why is Gretchen not offended when Emily is clearly trying to get her tipsy?
Erica Jayne
I saw that too.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, like, she wasn't offended at all.
Erica Jayne
She liked it because she. No, because you know why? Then she can go back and say, Emily got me tipsy. And that's why I was talking all this shit. And that's the perfect cover. Oh, I went over to Heather's and we went out, we went to the Abbey and we had so many drinks. And then I said this stuff, but I don't really remember what I said in the car. The camera does. And.
Teddy Mellencamp
And then I called Slade and instead of playing the song like the.
Erica Jayne
Girls were asking, we just, we discussed more about Tama.

And now it's the next morning with the herbal chef. I think it's you. And now I'm having regret.
Teddy Mellencamp
Regret eggs.
Erica Jayne
And regret eggs. And not even prepared the way I requested. Regretful eggs.
Teddy Mellencamp
Regretful eggs. Then we go back to Temecula. A lot of this episode was at the slumber party, which is cute. I like it. I mean, it's cute.
Erica Jayne
It's fun. Yeah. Heather invited me.
Teddy Mellencamp
Shout out to wonder Tense. That's my. Guess who did it.
Erica Jayne
Oh, yeah. Okay. Hey.
Teddy Mellencamp
But it. You know, it was fun and nice. I wonder if Heather actually slept in that room.
Erica Jayne
I mean, maybe for 10 minutes.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erica Jayne
I don't. I wonder if any of them slept.
Teddy Mellencamp
In that room or they rotated into the room where they were having pillow fights.
Erica Jayne
Who is like, you know how Gavin has to spend the night with us with his iPhone just in case something jumps off? Who is the Gavin down there?
Teddy Mellencamp
I don't know. Probably Gavin.
Erica Jayne
Probably Gavin. Poor Gav.
Teddy Mellencamp
Poor Gav.
Erica Jayne
Gavin, I love you.
Teddy Mellencamp
We love you, Gavin.
Erica Jayne
Miss you.
Teddy Mellencamp
Then Shannon tells the group and Temecula her history with her parents and how it was. It was difficult.
Erica Jayne
It was rough. It was difficult. Yeah.
Teddy Mellencamp
And then Tamara brings up Shannon's dad having a drinking problem.
Erica Jayne
Okay, stop right there. Okay? We saw Shannon's dad earlier this year. He's a sweet man.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erica Jayne
Here's the thing, and this is why I think Shannon gets hurt. Like, she can talk about her dad having a drinking problem, but you can't. And it's like, I can talk about what a horrible person Tom Girardi was, but when somebody else does, I'm not gonna lie, I get a little, like, hold on a second. You know what I mean? Like, because it's the instinct of protecting people that have been in your life for a very long time, even if.
Teddy Mellencamp
That person is trying to give you.
Erica Jayne
Comfort or it doesn't matter either way. But it's also, even if it's under the guise of comfort, their relationship is not the best anyway.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erica Jayne
It's always teetering on. You said this, yada da da da. And then you've got her calling her an alcoholic. So this right here for me is a lot of, you know.
Teddy Mellencamp
And then Shannon says she didn't like that her private conversation with Tamara was brought up on camera.
Erica Jayne
We all know there's no private conversations in this world. I'm sorry. You know better than that. She knows better than that. We know better than that. The audience knows better than that.
Teddy Mellencamp
Then Jen speaks. Might be for the first time this episode.
Erica Jayne
Yeah. Which is fine with me.
Teddy Mellencamp
She thinks that Tamra was trying to lay out that Shannon's father suffered from alcoholism so that the connection can be made, that it runs in the family, because Gina was kind of the opposite ways. Like, she was like, no, I think she was just trying to be a friend.
Erica Jayne
And then Jen's like, no, I think maybe we're pointing out something else here.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erica Jayne
Either way, the man's 96.
Teddy Mellencamp
Either way, the man is 96. And everybody's made their own assumptions already. But Shannon is clearly upset. She said she.
Erica Jayne
Her therapist told her not to come. Well, you don't get paid if you don't, so we can see how far that went. Yep.
Teddy Mellencamp
Tamara says Shannon doesn't even really care about her father.
Erica Jayne
That's not fair. Can't do that, Tamara. No, you don't know that.
Teddy Mellencamp
But this is what Tam.
Erica Jayne
This is what she couldn't come back and say. Tamara, you know, here's the thing. Then somebody could come back and say, well, you don't care about your daughter. You know what I mean? Like, don't do that. Let's not do that.
Teddy Mellencamp
Then it gets bad. But this is what, you know, clearly, Tamara's been trying to be working on, but then whenever she gets pushed or feels rejected.
Erica Jayne
She was reactive.
Teddy Mellencamp
She was reactive.
Erica Jayne
But you're gonna have to suffer with those consequences because you have to do better. They step back. If, you know, you do this, you're gonna have to own what you do. And sorrys only go so far, because if you're constantly apologizing for something that you're allegedly working on, but you don't have control over it.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, I know.
Erica Jayne
You know, so I didn't like that out of Tamara, and I think she's better than that. And we don't need to beat up on Shannon or the relationship with her dad, because the truth is, we don't know. And maybe it's very complicated, like all of our relationships with our parents.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erica Jayne
I mean, we all have very complicated relationships with our parents, so let's not be be beaten up on the parents.
Teddy Mellencamp
But I think this is the Tamra that Heather was talking about. When she's upset, she knows how to say things that get under your skin.
Erica Jayne
Yeah. And. But it's more than getting under your Skin. There are levels of getting under my skin. There's levels that irritate. There are levels that make me, you know, bitchy back. There are levels that make me want to cry. And then when you make me cry.
Teddy Mellencamp
Then you can get mean.
Erica Jayne
Then I can get really mean. And so I think that we have to. I think I've been giving this some thought. Maybe I think I'm right. You know, these shows are here to entertain and have a good time. And I was watching an interview. I think it was on Dorinda's Sirius. Her. Her radio show. Yeah. And she had Luanne on, and they were talking about New York and why it worked. And I forget which one of them I think it might have been. I don't know if it was Luann. They said, well, what's happened is the shows have become so very dark.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah.
Erica Jayne
And like, am I kind of talking about this shit? I am. Am I talking about what's happened on our show with all of us? I am. Am I talking about lately? Yeah. Dorinda and Countess are right.
Teddy Mellencamp
You know, it used to be silly.
Erica Jayne
Used to be silly. Now people are going to prison. You've got, you know, bad people doing bad things on shows. You've got women's lives being really turned upside down. And, yes, we all sign up for it, but we're also signing up to entertain. And when it becomes like Bloodsport, it's no longer entertaining. They're right. It's dark.
Teddy Mellencamp
But I think the difference between New York and a lot of these other franchises is New York, you know, the OG New York, they were. They weren't planned out.
Erica Jayne
No.
Teddy Mellencamp
They were just kind of some hot messes going out there.
Erica Jayne
Well, they were just some chicks that were authentically being themselves. They were New Yorkers. They were doing their thing, and they were. They were fiercely confident enough in their own skin to show what they really were really doing. But the shows have changed so much. And, look, I'm guilty, too, so I'm not excusing myself.
Teddy Mellencamp
I mean, I agree with you on the Darkness. I mean, except when we go back to, like, season one, Beverly Hills, there was season one or season two where there was a suicide. There was alcoholism, discussions.
Erica Jayne
Yeah. You have Kim and Kyle fighting in the limo. I can see where people would say that was dark. Taylor's situation. Certainly dark. Yes. But then it continues and it perpetuates. That's, I think, what I'm hinging on here. Yes. Yeah.
Teddy Mellencamp
Then there's a switch to something else.
Erica Jayne
Right.
Teddy Mellencamp
And now there's not it's like we're just focusing dark. It's just focusing on that, digging deeper and deeper into that one situation.
Erica Jayne
Right. We don't need you to be surface level, but surface level is entertaining to a point. You do watch to escape, you do watch to have fun. It can't always be dark. There has to be some sort of balance. And I think that recently, and I'm talking across all shows, and certainly I'm speaking from my own personal experience, it's been a lot more dark than light. And the lightness needs to return so that you can laugh, we can laugh, the audience can laugh.
Teddy Mellencamp
But there needs to be real friendships.
Erica Jayne
Yes, there. Yes. And not transactional situations, but also too, listen, this is a top down problem. It comes from the top. It goes into production, it goes into what people say on social media, I'm sorry to say, but you know, you're getting very mixed messages. It's hard to be authentically yourself and then you find out that, yeah, I was authentically myself, but that's not what was shown over there. That's true and that's true. And unfortunately, sometimes or most of the time seasons hone in on one or two stories and that's what gets pushed so hard. And there's not much comedy, you know, there's not much lightness or much comedic relief. But that's my rant for today. Well, I know when you talk about darkness, are women coming in to destroy each other? To take one each other, one each other apart?
Teddy Mellencamp
I think before people were just living their lives. And sometimes I think the whole thing.
Erica Jayne
Has evolved and become much bigger than they thought it would ever be. And it, you can. And it attracts a different. But it's, it's kind of the nature of the show. Like it's changed so much.
Teddy Mellencamp
It changed so much. And so is the world that we live in.
Erica Jayne
You better believe it. And that's a good point. There was no social media really. Maybe Twitter, certainly when the shows started. Not Instagram, I don't think. Maybe Facebook, who knows?
Teddy Mellencamp
But it's a completely different animal beast.
Erica Jayne
Uh huh. Yeah, 100%.
Teddy Mellencamp
But I mean, I did like this episode.
Erica Jayne
I did too. I thought it's gonna lead to another episode. That's gonna be good. We're gonna have, you know, more.
Teddy Mellencamp
I think they go on the trip soon. Ish.
Erica Jayne
Where's the trip at?
Teddy Mellencamp
I forget. Amsterdam. The trips in Amsterdam.
Erica Jayne
Wow. Wow. Hey, Lisa. Shout out to Lisa. By the way, did you see that nice vogue thing about her? Get it, Rena.
Teddy Mellencamp
Get it, Rena.
Erica Jayne
Love you so much. But yeah, I want and like the Katie thing, not filming with her now. I guess the Gretchen thing allegedly blows up so bad later on. I don't know. Maybe I'm just bitching, but I do wish that there was more balance and I think that Dorinda and the Countess had a good point.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, there needs to be more fun. Yeah, needs to be more fun.
Erica Jayne
And the need to be people on the shows that want to have more fun and we need to. Look, life is already bad enough. We know what we're already battling. I mean, come on.
Teddy Mellencamp
I want more fun.
Erica Jayne
I know. That's what I'm saying.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. Like we all want.
Erica Jayne
You deserve more fun.
Teddy Mellencamp
But being on the hunt for fun is also good and entertaining to watch.
Erica Jayne
Exactly. And there's some, you know, fun things you can do.
Teddy Mellencamp
So we want to see that too.
Erica Jayne
Yep. We want more fun.
Teddy Mellencamp
Thanks guys for tuning in to another episode of Diamonds in the Rough. And we will be back hopefully soon to recap the next episode.
Erica Jayne
Yeah, thanks so much. Sorry for the rant, but not really.

This episode balanced playful banter with deeper evaluations of Real Housewives issues, especially the line between drama for entertainment and genuine emotional struggle. Teddi and Erika’s chemistry led to honest conversations about reality TV fame, friendship, betrayal, and growth, both on- and off-camera. RHOC’s newest episodes provide no shortage of heated moments, but the hosts’ recurring theme is a plea for more lightness, fun, and authentic friendship in a franchise that sometimes loses its way in the pursuit of high-stakes drama.
Tune in next week for the fallout—and, hopefully, a little more fun.
