Chloe
Welcome back to this week's episode of Unlocked with your host, Chloe.
Julie
Oh, so now you're taking over my podcast?
Chloe
Yeah, technically.
Hospice Nurse Julie
Really?
Chloe
Now I'm here. I'm the host.
Julie
Okay, so when you're here, you're the host?
Chloe
Yeah.
Julie
You think people like you better?
Chloe
Yeah, I'm mostly the party leader. So.
Julie
You're mostly the party leader?
Chloe
Yeah.
Julie
I'm dying. That is hilarious. So how is life, Chloe?
Chloe
I guess good.
Julie
You guess?
Chloe
I mean, school.
Julie
Do you love school? No. No?
Chloe
No.
Julie
Why?
Chloe
Some classes are harder than others.
Julie
And you're not really a straight A student, are ya? No, but you try.
Chloe
At least I'm passing.
Julie
Okay.
Chloe
Some. Most.
Julie
Okay. Well, as long as you pass. Okay. Well, you know what? We're making progress. Okay. And you try. Yeah, I'm passing math, so that's a shock.
Chloe
I made it 88.
Julie
Way to go.
Chloe
Yeah, I know.
Julie
Way to go.
Chloe
Just like that.
Julie
That's awesome. I'm so proud of you.
Chloe
Thanks.
Julie
So, Chloe, I asked people to give us some questions that they want to hear from when it comes to you, so I'll go through those first. But I need you to explain to us what it's like being 13 in today's day and age. Well,
Chloe
I want to say terrible, but it's not the Best. Some kids are mean now.
Julie
They're mean?
Chloe
Yeah, because everyone's like going into teenagers, so then they're just meaner.
Grainger Advertiser 2
Oh.
Julie
What have you had to deal with recently?
Chloe
Some girl hit me at school the other day.
Julie
Excuse me?
Chloe
And then Nesta hit me in the face. Then I told her. I went to go.
Julie
What do you mean she hit you in the face?
Chloe
She didn't hit me in the face.
Julie
Okay. Where'd she hit you?
Chloe
Well, on my body. And then I went up to her the next day at school. I said, just so you know, this is one warning, but if you hit me one more time, you better watch out. And she goes, I didn't hit you. And then walked away.
Julie
Okay, well, you didn't just make it up.
Chloe
Yeah. Go tell mom and dad.
Julie
You went and told mom and dad?
Chloe
Yeah. Dad was mad.
Julie
Yeah. I would have been mad, too, if I would have known that. I would have been up in that office. And you know that.
Chloe
Yeah. That's why I didn't tell you.
Julie
Cause, you know, did I make trips to the office?
Chloe
Yeah.
Hospice Nurse Julie
Yeah.
Chloe
Let's not say a lot.
Julie
Whenever. Are you embarrassed by how I parented you?
Chloe
I mean, not really.
Julie
No.
Chloe
No. You taught me well. Thank you. I'm not disrespectful. I mean, I will when I want to be, but.
Julie
Well, I tried to teach you to the best of my abilities.
Chloe
I mean. Yeah, you did a good job, I guess.
Julie
Aw, that's so sweet.
Chloe
You're welcome.
Julie
I love that. Okay, so when it comes to.
Grainger Advertiser
I have a question.
Julie
Cause you haven't come on in a really long time. So you. You remember whenever we had Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated?
Chloe
Oh, that was bad.
Julie
Yeah. And how did. Cause I don't think people really realize how that affected kids. And, like, people that were your age. How do you remember, like, when you saw that, how it made you feel?
Chloe
I was like, oh. Because then people are telling me about. And I was like, oh, whoa. And then some kids started, like, watching the videos, and I was like, oh, this is not okay.
Julie
No.
Chloe
And then everyone just started making jokes about at school and stuff. And then it would turn into, like, just people joking around about it. And now it's like, it's not a joke when someone dies.
Julie
Yeah.
Chloe
And then they're like, oh, yeah, well,
Julie
thank you for being that kid that calls other people out, because that's what needs to happen. And do you remember whenever I. I think I picked you up from school when all this mess was going on, and you said you were confused at why none of your teachers offered any help?
Chloe
We're talking about it when he died. Oh, yeah. Our Sosa's teacher was allowed to talk about it. And then I asked him. I was like, weren't we supposed to talk about him today? He goes, actually, no, I changed my mind. We're not talking about him anymore. I was like, oh, okay.
Julie
And that was a hard thing. Was that a hard thing to process?
Chloe
Yeah, kind of.
Julie
I mean, someone died, and we're not speaking about it.
Chloe
No.
Julie
And someone who was very influential to people.
Chloe
Yeah.
Julie
I always. I thought it was interesting when I heard your point of view, because when you were in the car, you were very, like. You seemed very passionate about it, and you were like, I don't get why we wouldn't talk about it.
Chloe
I was kind of lost.
Julie
And I asked, did they provide. Offer you guys, like, a safe space to talk about your feelings?
Chloe
Yeah, kind of.
Julie
But it was after. Yeah.
Chloe
Yeah. But we wouldn't be able to talk about him because we're not allowed to talk about politics and stuff at school. And I'm like, okay.
Julie
Mm. But there was other conversations of politics going on at your school.
Chloe
Yeah.
Julie
So. But they didn't offer any kind of mental health treatment until a week or two after. See, that's. And that's the hard part is seeing how kids are affected by it. But I think I can sit and have a conversation with you because you. You did have to grow up a lot faster. Do you feel like you did?
Chloe
Yeah, kind of.
Julie
Yeah. In what way?
Chloe
What do you mean?
Julie
Like, how do you. What? How do you feel like you had to grow up faster? Or I guess a better way to phrase the question is, like, mom and dad going away.
Chloe
Oh, yeah, that was one. Because then you would have to go through it. But then other kids usually just think it's like, oh, it's not that big of a deal. And then I'm like, well, to you, it's not big of a deal because your parents are home, but mine aren't.
Julie
Yeah. And so that was really hard for you, and you had to grow up quicker because you did have to do more adult things.
Chloe
Yeah.
Julie
Because it was just you, me, and Grayson, and there was times to where I needed help. So you are helping to do laundry and stuff around.
Chloe
I'm the best at laundry, so.
Julie
You really are.
Chloe
That's why I do laundry.
Julie
You are the best. I've never. Like, you can fold, you sort it, you wash it. You are very particular about how you like to wash your clothes. I think it's a great thing. And so when that was some of the questions that people had, some of them were surrounding mom and dad. But do you feel I have a question? One of the questions? Well, a lot of people ask this, so I was trying to find the right way to frame it. Cause I asked a lot of things surrounding it. Do you feel like book because you were adopted, that you felt different or had to grow up faster?
Chloe
No. No, it doesn't make a difference. See, like, if I was with my other side of the family, it wouldn't make a difference, really. It would just be a little different. Yeah, it's just different. But not really.
Julie
Not really a lot. And do that's the thing is, like, how do you react whenever people call dad, like, oh, that's your grandpa.
Chloe
Oh, a kid said that to me the other day. I was at some gay. Oh, isn't your parents your grandparents? I was like, no, I was adopted.
Julie
I mean, I guess technically, but, like, you're adopted, so.
Chloe
Yeah, I just said, well, I'm adopted, so. Yeah, I mean, I just call them my parents.
Julie
You know, like, when you hear the word dad, who do you instantly think of? Dad. Our dad.
Chloe
Yeah.
Julie
And when you hear the word mom, who do you instantly think of?
Chloe
Our mom.
Julie
Yeah. So. And that's the only life that you've ever really known, right?
Chloe
Yeah.
Julie
Like, do you remember people had asked me if you remembered any life other than mom and dad?
Chloe
No. No, not really.
Julie
Yeah.
Chloe
I mean, I was just such babies. So there's really nothing to remember. No.
Julie
And all. But it's funny, though, because you've gotten into this habit now to where you make all these little stickers and you constantly send them, and it's like all these pictures of you as a baby, and it is the cutest thing ever. You were so sweet.
Chloe
I just made them all.
Julie
I love that. Some of the questions are, let's see. Who is your favorite sibling?
Chloe
Oh, God.
Julie
You can be honest.
Chloe
You won't get mad.
Julie
I won't get mad.
Chloe
Grayson.
Julie
Well, I already knew that.
Chloe
But then you come in, like, a close. Like, you're like. With Grayson. Chase's.
Julie
Chase is the last. Yeah, it's okay.
Chloe
But you and I really bond with Chase a lot.
Julie
Really?
Chloe
No, I just bond with Grayson. And you.
Julie
Well, you and Grayson have always been, like, tight.
Chloe
Yeah.
Julie
Because when mom and dad were gone, Yalls rooms were right next to each other.
Chloe
From each other.
Julie
Yeah.
Chloe
Hey, what's up?
Julie
Hey, what's up? And you would wake him up.
Chloe
He never wakes up.
Hospice Nurse Julie
Yeah.
Chloe
I have to like, slap him sometimes.
Julie
Yeah. So you would wake him up and y' all would just spend a lot of quality time together.
Chloe
Let's see.
Julie
How are you feeling about your parents being back home?
Chloe
It's like the same.
Julie
It's the same as, like, before they left.
Chloe
Yeah. Because then I'll be able to see them. So really it's just like the same, except they're in the house.
Julie
People wanted to know how you found out that mom and dad were getting pardoned.
Chloe
I found out, I think from you. Right?
Julie
Yeah.
Chloe
It was like one day and then you came in. You, like, kind of crying. I was like. I was trying not to laugh because I always laugh when people cry.
Julie
So I was like, yeah, I think that's a trauma response, but we'll deal with that a little later in life.
Chloe
I was like, you alright? And then you're like, mom and dad are coming home. I was like, you joking? No. I was like, oh, that's great. Cause I know what to say. Cause people always put me on the spot and I'm like, oh, that's amazing.
Julie
But you. You didn't. But then you said, I'm not gonna get my hopes up until I see it.
Chloe
Yeah. Because then they would say, they're coming home. Then they didn't. So I was like.
Julie
So you were very hesitant.
Chloe
Yeah. Cause I was like, last time I got my hopes up.
Julie
And I was like, then it didn't happen.
Chloe
Exactly. So now I was just waiting there patiently.
Julie
And so when you saw mom for the first time. Cause I wasn't there. What was that like?
Chloe
It was good.
Julie
Were you, like, emotional?
Chloe
No, I don't get emotional. I mean, I do, but I don't like to cry a lot. I mean, it was pretty nice. We got a little group hug. Natty Faye was like, move out the way. I was like, okay. She was like, come here, Julie.
Grainger Advertiser 2
Aw.
Julie
But when? And then you kept texting me and calling, do you have dad yet? Do you have dad yet? And I'm like, no, I will call you when I have him. Cause I think in the back of your mind, you still thought they weren't coming home.
Chloe
Yeah, I did.
Julie
Okay. How do you feel about this? Is somebody trying to throw some shade?
Chloe
Okay.
Julie
How do you feel about your natural hair? Do they make you feel like your hair isn't pretty?
Chloe
What type of hair this woman have? That's my question. Does she like hers?
Julie
Do you like your hair?
Chloe
Kinda. I mean, yeah, but it's hard to manage.
Julie
It's hard to manage sometimes because then
Chloe
if I Wear it down. It gets frizzy too fast.
Julie
Yeah.
Chloe
So I have to wear it. Right.
Julie
So. And whenever she said they, she refers to us as your family. How do we make you feel about it? Good.
Chloe
Y' all make me try to wear my hair down. I'm like, no.
Julie
Exactly. And we let you do whatever you want to do with your hair.
Chloe
Exactly.
Julie
Whether it's straight or curly or. I wish I had the curls. You know, I've said that forever. My hair is bone straight.
Chloe
You can use some curl, but it's okay. We like that for you.
Julie
Well, I wish I had your hair.
Chloe
Hi, diva.
Grainger Advertiser 2
It's Rachel and Jordan.
Hospice Nurse Julie
Yeah, hi.
Grainger Advertiser
Quick question.
Chloe
Why are you not spending your Venmo balance?
Julie
Yeah, we're concerned you can, like, buy stuff with it. You love buying stuff and earn cash back on eligible purchases. You love purchasing eligible things.
Chloe
So the money your friend sent you yesterday, that's today's ramen or rideshare or eye patches.
Julie
The skincare kind, not the pyro kind.
Chloe
Spend with Venmo, then you can earn cash back with Venmo stash. Venmo stash bundle terms and Exclusions apply. Max $100 cash back per month. See terms@venmo.me Terms, Idaho. Verification required to use a Venmo balance.

Julie
Does Julie still let her eat McDonald's? Does she? Did you have it on the way over here?
Hospice Nurse Julie
No.
Chloe
No, I had a sandwich on 51st Deli.
Julie
Okay. You didn't answer my question.
Chloe
Yeah, sometimes.
Julie
Okay.
Chloe
I mean, if I'm hungry from school,
Julie
you know how bad that is for you?
Chloe
It's fries, Savannah. They're made from potatoes.
Julie
Who was stricter on you, mom and dad or me?
Grainger Advertiser 2
You.
Chloe
Me? You wouldn't let me eat McDonald's because, I mean, it's bad for you. But if it was your last choice, I mean, I would pick McDonald's personally.
Julie
Okay. Who is your go to sibling when you need something?
Chloe
Like if you would text him if you need something.
Julie
Yeah. Or if, like, you wanted something to be bought for you, I would say you.
Chloe
But like, usually you don't answer fast, but sometimes you do. It just depends. Like, sometimes I'll text you, you don't answer the next day. But that's fine. I think you.
Julie
Me probably. I normally always answer you. I'm just not used to you really having a phone.
Chloe
Okay, dad said he's gonna take it back, but he hasn't yet.
Julie
What'd you do this time?
Chloe
That's a good question. I don't really know what I did.
Julie
What'd you do?
Chloe
I didn't do anything.
Julie
Oh, so he's gonna take it for no reason?
Chloe
Yes, totally. He did. Apparently I was being disrespectful, which I wasn't. I was being calm with mom because she always yells at me and then I try not to laugh because it's low key kind of funny.
Julie
Okay, well, first off, I. You gotta keep in mind who you're talking to. I helped raise you for two and a half years and I know you've got a little mouth on you.
Chloe
No, but I didn't say anything this time. I let her talk and let her finish. So I was supposed to read this word that I didn't know. I barely know English. Okay. So then I was like, I don't know that word. And then she goes, I read the word. I said, I don't know the word. She goes, I told you to read the word. And then I was like, well, I don't know the word. And then mom came in from grocery shop and then she was like, oh, how did your tutoring go?
Julie
I said, oh, good, now you can be disrespectful. I know that.
Chloe
And then mom started yelling at me and then I got in trouble. I didn't even do anything.
Julie
Oh yeah, famous last words from a kid. I didn't even do anything. My parents are just mean. Visit goodgirlrx.com and use code UNLOCKED15 to get 15% off at checkout. Chloe
That's a hard one. I'm kidding. I mean, you're nice. You buy me stuff, you take me places to hang out.
Julie
We go on good trips.
Chloe
Yeah, that's for sure.
Julie
You're due for one.
Chloe
Yeah. To Caitlin.
Julie
We're going this summer.
Hospice Nurse Julie
Yeah.
Julie
What is your favorite thing about dad?
Chloe
Are you serious right now?
Julie
Yeah. So someone asked.
Chloe
That's a hard one.
Julie
What's your favorite thing?
Chloe
I don't know. I guess he's nice. Sometimes I can. Oh, he's funny. That's fun.
Julie
He is funny. He is funny. What's her current style like and what trends does she like?
Chloe
I don't go based off of trends. At this point, they're not worth it.
Julie
The trends aren't worth it. You heard it first.
Chloe
No, because there's this one trend, and it's you. It's like the Utah one. It's. It's not good. They just curl their hair and there's like a line through their hair.
Julie
What?
Chloe
Have you not seen it?
Julie
No.
Chloe
It's bad.
Julie
Oh, that sounds terrible.
Chloe
Yeah, much. That you later.
Julie
Some of these questions. People are crazy. What's middle school like for you?
Chloe
Awful. That's.
Julie
That's terrible.
Chloe
I mean, middle school's just middle school, and then seventh grade, you're stuck in the middle. So then it's just.
Julie
You're kind of.
Chloe
It's just.
Julie
It's like being the middle child.
Chloe
Yeah. It's like. It's hard, but then it's like a repeat of sixth grade.
Julie
Yeah. What is her best nanny face story?
Grainger Advertiser 2
Uh,
Chloe
probably when she dragged me to the casino on time, she goes, you know what we're gonna do Thursday? I said, what? She goes, we're going to the casino. I said, I'm not going. And she wakes up the next morning, starts dragging me to the casino.
Julie
And the truth is, there. They always used to do that with us as kids, her and papa Jade. Yeah. Always used to do that also the other day, I heard that you and Nanny were talking about me going on the View.
Chloe
I don't even know what the View is, so.
Julie
Well, it's that TV show where there's those women who mom going, no, this is just me going on the View. And Nanny said she was afraid because they were all going to be mean to me.
Grainger Advertiser
Oh.
Chloe
I said, well, they don't know what they're dealing with, I think, or something like that. Yeah.
Julie
You said, well, they don't know what they're getting themselves into.
Chloe
Yeah.
Julie
Cause will I take their crap?
Chloe
No.
Julie
No. You've seen me in action.
Chloe
Yeah. It's like a different person.
Julie
What would you say is one of the biggest things you learned from me over the past two and a half years when it was just me, you and Gray?
Chloe
I say respect.
Julie
Really?
Chloe
I mean, I had respect with mom and dad, but I feel like you're a lot more strict with respect because you'd be like, be nice to this person. I was like, okay, so I'm not usually a person.
Julie
You're not usually like a people person.
Chloe
Yeah.
Julie
So you would say I taught you respect. What would you say looking at me and, like, everything that I did, how does that make you view me?
Chloe
Kind, I guess.
Julie
And does it kind of show you? Because I think one of the biggest things I wanted to teach you was you can be a female and you can still be strong and powerful and work and provide for your family and not take crap from a man.
Chloe
Yeah, you taught me that, too.
Julie
Yeah. I've always wanted you to grow up and feel confident in yourself and love who you are and know that if someone's in your life, it's because you want them there and not because you need them.
Chloe
True.
Julie
Yeah. That was the biggest thing for me. Was it difficult to adjust having me as your sister, then become your parent?
Chloe
Not really. I feel like it was the same, except we would see. I would see you more often if we were living in the same house.
Julie
But it was kind of hard because you remember at the beginning, you would be like, you're not my mom. You can't tell me what to do.
Chloe
Those are some valid crash outs, though.
Julie
Those are some valid crash outs.
Chloe
Those were bad, though, too.
Julie
Those are bad. Those were bad crash outs. And was it hard when mom and dad came back home? Because, like you, me and Grayson, we had our own routine and our own way of doing things.
Chloe
I mean, not really, except they just changed some stuff in their ways.
Julie
Yeah. So it was just a different. You had to get Used to a new routine and a new way of doing things.
Chloe
Weaning every day, like, cleaning every day, like, I don't want to clean. Oh, I forgot to clean my room when I get back. I have it.
Julie
You have it? Is it bad? You think you're going to get in trouble?
Chloe
No, because we haven't been home for two weeks. It's just clothes from Natty Faye's house. And then I supposed to make my
Julie
bed yesterday, but I. Yeah, because you haven't had power. Yeah, you forgot.
Chloe
Mm. I could use that one.
Julie
Mm. What do you want to be when you grow up?
Chloe
A person. Like, what. What, 13?
Julie
You don't know what you want to do for a job. For a job, I'll go join the military. No, to be very disciplined. You fight for your country. You.
Chloe
I'm not fighting for everybody, okay? Fight for myself.
Julie
So maybe you just be a normal. You know, just. Just be a young woman and find something you love doing.
Chloe
Yeah.
Julie
Yeah, I think that's enjoying the military. Okay. I mean, hey, I would support you if that's what you wanted to do.
Chloe
I'm serving myself.
Julie
So are you going to let Savannah move in with you when she gets old?
Chloe
Maybe.
Julie
Maybe.
Chloe
What if old are you?
Julie
Okay, 28.
Chloe
There ain't no way you had to count that.
Julie
I'm 28.
Chloe
Okay, so what, like, what type of old? Like, like.
Julie
Yeah.
Chloe
How old would I be?
Julie
Well, what, you're 13. I'm 28. So 15 years. Age difference?
Chloe
Like four years?
Julie
No. Well, I'm 80. Wait, like 15 if I'm 50 or 60.
Chloe
Something, right?
Julie
If I'm 80, you're gonna be 65.
Chloe
Both of us old people cannot be
Julie
living under the same room.
Chloe
Hold on. Paul's. I'm gonna still be single, and you're gonna be over here. No, I can't.
Julie
We'll just be like Velma and Shirley. It'll be great. No, we will be wreaking havoc on everyone.
Chloe
We could be eating caviar.
Julie
We could.
Chloe
Okay, I'll let you move in.
Julie
See, that's. That's one thing I taught you. Some of the finer taste in life. Caviar.
Chloe
That's a good one.
Julie
That. That's great. Yeah. You love your caviar. Yeah. So, okay, what's a moment where you felt especially proud of each other? So that's a comment. That's a question for both of us. When was a moment that you looked at me and you felt proud?
Hospice Nurse Julie
Hmm?
Chloe
This is hard. Hold on.
Julie
It's hard. I can automatically think of one I
Chloe
could think of some by trying to pick one.
Julie
Give me.
Chloe
I mean, get gay mom, dad, homes. One.
Julie
Okay.
Chloe
I guess that's. That's just a big one.
Julie
That's a big one.
Chloe
Yeah.
Julie
And so I would say when I felt especially proud of you was after mom and dad left, it took a little bit to kind of get in our groove of things. But there's a picture I have on my phone of you and Grayson, and we're at dinner, and you both are looking at each other and you're smiling and laughing. And I remember looking at you two and getting tears in my eyes and thinking, life is really hard right now for these two kids, but I am so proud of them for still trying to live life and laughing and smiling and making the best of every situation. Because I feel like you did a really good job at that.
Chloe
Yeah, I'm usually not the bigger person in big situations because I usually laugh at them.
Julie
Yeah.
Chloe
I don't really cry a lot, so I just make fun of it sometimes. Oh, I'm so sorry for you.
Julie
Well, yeah. You and Grayson used dark humor a lot.
Chloe
Exactly.
Julie
A lot. How did kids. Someone asked how kids reacted to you with mom and dad in prison?
Chloe
I guess like the same. Besides, when one kid made fun of me for at school one time.
Julie
And how did it make you feel?
Chloe
I mean, I just went and got Grayson, so it was pretty chill.
Julie
You went and got Grayson? Grayson was mad, but it hurt your feelings.
Chloe
It did, because I think I ran off crying.
Julie
Yeah. And that's. I think that's so important to point out is kids being mean to each other, what impact it can make.
Chloe
You know, it makes a big difference
Julie
because it can make you. I know there was times where you were very anxiety filled and depressed because of things that kids would say, and it just. You were a different person. When someone's mean to you, it can change who you are as a kid.
Chloe
Kids make me mad.
Julie
Yeah.
Chloe
I don't like kids.
Julie
But you did. I remember you got. The principal called me up to the school one day. Because a kid was mean to you in class.
Chloe
I loved science class. And I did my job and put my foot on the ground, and my teacher got mad at me.
Julie
What'd you say again?
Chloe
I said, don't you dare talk about my family one more time. If I hear you talking about my family around here one more time, watch and see what happens. And then my teacher got mad at me for talking.
Julie
Well, the principal was not mad and was like, you know what? I'm proud of her. For standing her ground. The kids should have never made fun of the fact that her parents weren't here.
Chloe
Exactly.
Julie
So, principal, you got a shout out for me. I loved you from that moment forward. All right, let's see. We're going to do one more question, and that is, what do you miss about living with Savannah?
Chloe
Probably baking. Then you would, like, cook a lot. And then when you got your sourdough, that was so bad. That was a problem. Savannah.
Julie
Oh, God, I would make so much sourdough.
Chloe
Yeah. Oh, let's make some cookies. Let's make some more mouth. Like, chill out, please. Every day there would be something new on the counter. I was like, someone help me, please.
Hospice Nurse Julie
I know.
Julie
And then you would have, like, the sourdough in the morning with butter in.
Chloe
Yeah.
Julie
I was like, cinnamon sugar.
Chloe
That was good.
Julie
Yeah. You love some bread.
Chloe
Yeah, I still love bread. That's a cheesecake factory bread.
Julie
Oh, my God. That is hilarious. So is there anything you want the world to know about you? Hmm. Yes. No. Maybe. These kids in this 6, 7 thing,
Chloe
I'm like, oh, just do it one time.
Hospice Nurse Julie
What?
Chloe
Say it.
Julie
What? Six, seven, Good job. That's what you do. I don't even know what that means.
Chloe
I don't either.
Julie
Oh, that's fine. Okay, well, I guess we're gonna end it on that note.
Chloe
Yeah.
Julie
But I just want to tell you how much I love you and how proud I am of you.
Chloe
Thanks.
Julie
And you're a pretty awesome kid.
Chloe
I know. I'm tough, too.
Julie
You are. You've gone through a lot of crap in life. But you know what I say? If the first part of your life is challenging, the second part is gonna be amazing.
Chloe
I think the second part will be easier.
Julie
Yeah? You think so? Because do you think you've pretty much gone through some of the toughest stuff?
Chloe
Yeah. Cause then you're just like, oh, it's chill.
Julie
Yeah. Anything else that comes, you're like, oh, I can get over this.
Chloe
Yeah.
Julie
Yeah. And you got me.
Chloe
Yeah. All right.
Julie
We're gonna live a fun life, kid. Come on.
Chloe
Eat some caviar.
Julie
Caviar. Yes. I love you.
Chloe
Love you.

Hospice Nurse Julie
Hi everyone, I'm hospice nurse Julie and I have some bad news but also some good news. Bad news? We're all gonna die. I know. But good news? That might be the best thing to ever happen to your priorities. I've spent years at the bedside and what I've learned is simple. People don't usually regret the big things. They regret the small things. They regret the things they didn't say. My new podcast, It's Okay, We're All Going to Die is where we talk about the stuff everyone avoids. Death, dying, and all of those. We should probably talk about this someday conversations. So if you're looking for something that will help you check out It's Okay.
