We are right around the corner from Father's Day here in the States. Which means that it's time to pause and reflect. Others will celebrate us, if we are lucky, but for me, it's time to reflect and evaluate my 'DAD STACK'. In this episode, I go over the components that make up the DAD STACK, including your: ability to create wealth, your faith, marriage, fitness/ability to protect, learning and knowledge, outdoor skills, play and Coaching. The time that we have as fathers is precious and the worst thing in the world would be to look back and say, 'I could've done more as a father for myself and my family.' Take a listen, evaluate yourself and then decide what area you want to level up. Be Unconventional, Kyle Newell aka Panda Man P.S. - I cover this in more depth with a whole bunch of other great insights including fasting for fathers, training and mindset in my RIPPED DADS book which you can find here: https://a.co/d/0hvpl5p7

Four and a half years ago, I tried Kratom leaf extract. I then progressed to using the 7-OH extract for a performance boost in my training. From there, the issue spiraled out of control. I know there are many of you out there struggling with this poison right now, but don't lose hope. I was hesitant to make this episode because of what I do for a living but this is one of the reasons I struggled with 7-OH I believe…to help others going through their own addiction to it right now. Take a listen and see if anything resonates with you. Feel free to drop a comment or question below. If you have a win you'd like to share, share it. If you are struggling, let us know. The first step is to break the hold of guilt and shame that comes with any addiction. Be Unconventional, Kyle Newell aka Panda Man Reach out if you need my help: 908-229-6666

6 years ago today, I made a decision to open Newell Strength, despite the strict government orders. It was a moment in time where Devon and I knew that we had to live by our principles and values, no matter the cost. In case you forgot, nearly everyone was following the orders and if you went against the narrative, people were going to judge you, threaten you and more. Luckily, I've never been much of a follower, especially when it comes to following something that I don't believe in. In this episode, I recall the day we opened, May 18th 2020, and what perspired the rest of the week. It was a wild time, with a lot of unknowns. And I would do it again in a heartbeat. In this episode of "Unlocking Your Inner Strength," Kyle celebrated the 15-year anniversary of Neural Strength, reflecting on his journey from starting the business in 2007 while teaching to opening his first gym in 2011. Kyle shared how he began by training clients out of his car and later in his parents' basement before eventually opening his own facility focused on athletes and men. He discussed key milestones including moving to a larger space in 2012, deciding to leave teaching in 2013, and opening a second location in Flemington in 2018. Kyle also highlighted how he overcame challenges like Hurricane Sandy damaging the gym and the COVID-19 pandemic, emphasizing the importance of faith, enthusiasm, and taking action despite uncertainty.

Last night, after dinner, I was having a conversation with Braxton about the mind. For a ten year old, he is amazing in my eyes because he is so interested in learning about concepts like mindset and theater of the mind. Anyways, I told him that the mind works much the same as the belt system in martial arts. We all start out as white belts and then it's up to us, as individuals, to advance up the ranks. Each day and each week, we are given experiences in the form of mental and spiritual resistance training that can add another stripe to our mental belt. Unfortunately, most people shrink away from these types of resistance training sessions because they feel like a struggle. And that's because they are a struggle, but struggling is a good thing! That is where learning and growth comes from. In today's episode, I discuss what each level of belt looks like in terms of learning, awareness, mindset and approach. I close out with sharing some concepts with you that have worked for me and that will get you to begin to think differently. As you advance up the ranks, you will be faced with more advanced 'opponents', and to eventually beat those opponents, you wll have to use a different line of thought. Let me know any questions and don't forget to leave a review if you haven't already, it helps the show out a lot! Thanks in advance! On Saturday, I competed in my first ever strong man competition. It was a great experience and I was able to place 3rd out of 10 heavyweights. I exceeded my own expectations and I am joyful and proud of what I accomplished, which is normally something I don't think about. It was timely for the stage of life I am at and my performance was a testament to how I live on a daily basis. In today's episode, I recap the day, with the insights and memories. Live for the moment and challenge yourself, don't use age as an excuse, it's a mindset. Be Unconventional, Kyle aka Panda Man

Last week, I had my knee drained and shot up with cortizone, which I am normally against because most people rely on it. I did it to help me get to my Strongman Contest which is less than a month away. I had injured it during my second training session, which was really hampering my training and everday activity. Make no mistake, I didn't stop, because one of my primary healing philosophies is to keep it moving. Well, the ordeal got me to thinking because quite a few people told me it was age, or 'you're getting older' and so on. While it is true that I am older, to me, wear and tear is a function of being in the arena, it's a matter of volume and probability. The more you play, the more likely that you are to get nicked up. In today's episode, I share with you some key insights, my views on aging and training and how to adjust while we age. Never stop playing and you will stay younger than your peers. Add fasting to that and boom! Anyways, let me know what you think. P.S. - FAT LOSS FRUSTRATION??? Check out my upcoming, 6 week, Fat Shredder Challenge. 26 years ago, I began experimenting with cheat days. I was getting good results with them, however, when I brought them to the head of the nutrition department at the University of Delaware, he had no clue what I was talking about. He dismissed the concept altogether. However, I knew they worked because I was using them, but I was yearning to know more about how they worked. That is when I came across my first hired Coach, Scott Abel. Scott taught me a ton about cheat days, cheat meals and I even was on what is know as the Cycle Diet for a good period of time. In this episode, I talk about cheat days and cheat meals, how to do them, who needs them and the difference between using cheat days for physiological versus psychological reasons. Remember, you can't get fat in a meal or one day, so don't stress it. If you use your cheat day the right way, it will serve you. Desire and fear, fear and desire. They go hand in hand when you peel the onion.
