In this episode of "Unlocking Your Inner Strength," Kyle celebrated the 15-year anniversary of Neural Strength, reflecting on his journey from starting the business in 2007 while teaching to opening his first gym in 2011. Kyle shared how he began by training clients out of his car and later in his parents' basement before eventually opening his own facility focused on athletes and men. He discussed key milestones including moving to a larger space in 2012, deciding to leave teaching in 2013, and opening a second location in Flemington in 2018. Kyle also highlighted how he overcame challenges like Hurricane Sandy damaging the gym and the COVID-19 pandemic, emphasizing the importance of faith, enthusiasm, and taking action despite uncertainty.

Last night, after dinner, I was having a conversation with Braxton about the mind. For a ten year old, he is amazing in my eyes because he is so interested in learning about concepts like mindset and theater of the mind. Anyways, I told him that the mind works much the same as the belt system in martial arts. We all start out as white belts and then it's up to us, as individuals, to advance up the ranks. Each day and each week, we are given experiences in the form of mental and spiritual resistance training that can add another stripe to our mental belt. Unfortunately, most people shrink away from these types of resistance training sessions because they feel like a struggle. And that's because they are a struggle, but struggling is a good thing! That is where learning and growth comes from. In today's episode, I discuss what each level of belt looks like in terms of learning, awareness, mindset and approach. I close out with sharing some concepts with you that have worked for me and that will get you to begin to think differently. As you advance up the ranks, you will be faced with more advanced 'opponents', and to eventually beat those opponents, you wll have to use a different line of thought. Let me know any questions and don't forget to leave a review if you haven't already, it helps the show out a lot! Thanks in advance! On Saturday, I competed in my first ever strong man competition. It was a great experience and I was able to place 3rd out of 10 heavyweights. I exceeded my own expectations and I am joyful and proud of what I accomplished, which is normally something I don't think about. It was timely for the stage of life I am at and my performance was a testament to how I live on a daily basis. In today's episode, I recap the day, with the insights and memories. Live for the moment and challenge yourself, don't use age as an excuse, it's a mindset. Be Unconventional, Kyle aka Panda Man

Last week, I had my knee drained and shot up with cortizone, which I am normally against because most people rely on it. I did it to help me get to my Strongman Contest which is less than a month away. I had injured it during my second training session, which was really hampering my training and everday activity. Make no mistake, I didn't stop, because one of my primary healing philosophies is to keep it moving. Well, the ordeal got me to thinking because quite a few people told me it was age, or 'you're getting older' and so on. While it is true that I am older, to me, wear and tear is a function of being in the arena, it's a matter of volume and probability. The more you play, the more likely that you are to get nicked up. In today's episode, I share with you some key insights, my views on aging and training and how to adjust while we age. Never stop playing and you will stay younger than your peers. Add fasting to that and boom! Anyways, let me know what you think. P.S. - FAT LOSS FRUSTRATION??? Check out my upcoming, 6 week, Fat Shredder Challenge. 26 years ago, I began experimenting with cheat days. I was getting good results with them, however, when I brought them to the head of the nutrition department at the University of Delaware, he had no clue what I was talking about. He dismissed the concept altogether. However, I knew they worked because I was using them, but I was yearning to know more about how they worked. That is when I came across my first hired Coach, Scott Abel. Scott taught me a ton about cheat days, cheat meals and I even was on what is know as the Cycle Diet for a good period of time. In this episode, I talk about cheat days and cheat meals, how to do them, who needs them and the difference between using cheat days for physiological versus psychological reasons. Remember, you can't get fat in a meal or one day, so don't stress it. If you use your cheat day the right way, it will serve you. Desire and fear, fear and desire. They go hand in hand when you peel the onion. In this episode, I talk about two key mindset weapons that you can develop and use to continue forward progress while enjoying the process. Splitting the Atom and... How to deal with fear... I often get asked what one should track when they start out with long form fasting on the Panda Diet. In this video, I give you my thoughts on what to track and why. However, be very mindful not to insert an obsessive compulsive approach from the traditional dieting world towards your fasting focused lifestyle. A big part of why I created the Panda Diet, which is my unique version of fasting, beasting and feasting, was to create the prison of traditional dieting and an emphasis on tracking and weighing everything. When we begin a journey, we want to learn and the best way to do that is total immersion. At that stage of the game or for any learning in general, tracking the metrics can be beneficial. But as you will see in the video, there are subjective markers that are far more important to track than things like your 'ketones'. Last night, for the first time, I watched the movie 'Skulls' with Devon. I remember when the movie came out in the early 2000's and not having too much interest in watching it. And to be honest, the only reason I watched it this time is because Devon said it was one of her favorites. But, as I watched it, it became apparent that it was to deceive people and that got me to thinking about a theory I have had for a while when it comes to something known as 'predictive programming'. Which of course, made me want to share with you conspiracies in health and fitness, absurdities that keep the masses unhealthy, asleep, low energy, Homer Simpson-esqe, and zombified. It makes you easier to control and gives away our God given power. Take a listen and if you like what you hear, you are going to want to subscribe to the monthly Panda Man Files (new name), my print newsletter, because this month I am going deep into the health and fitness conspiracies and see where that takes us. It is sure to be enertaining. I am currently down in Newport, KY visiting my aunt and uncle with Brax and Colty. We will be leaving to come back to Jersey in just a few hours in the early morning hours. It's been a great trip and I've had a lot of time to think being away from home and taking a nice distance road trip. On my Coaching calls today, I talked about being fully present and how it's a practice and somethign we need to aspire to. There is no moment but NOW, I dare you to try and prove otherwide, at least on this earthly dimension. Each moment is a life time, each moment is full of richness and beauty if you are there to experience it. Take a listen to this short episode that I just recorded on a walk around the block while smoking a cigar. It'll be good food for thought. P.S. - I have one client finishing up a great year of 1-1 Coaching, which means I have one spot opening. If you are ready and see the potential value of having a Coach in your life, feel free to shoot me a text and we can set up a time to chat about it. 908-229-6666.
