Sidney
Hey, babysitters. I was just gonna say you're obsessed with me. As y' all see, TP's back here in person. I'm like, girl, we can do it.
TP
I am stage five stalker baby. Added to your list.
Sidney
No.
TP
Okay, well, I have a special. Thanks. I'm sitting here on this couch today because of the special Delta members that work in the front desk at the New Orleans airport. I would not be sitting right here in Indiana if it weren't for them. So special shout out to you guys. I wouldn't be right here without y'.
Sidney
All, so that's so sweet.
TP
Thanks for that.
Sidney
How was your week? Anything funny happen?
TP
Anything interesting? I had a really interesting doctor's office, and maybe this is my whiteness, so I'm going to just start off by saying that, but.
Sidney
Oh, I have a whiteness story, too. Okay, tell yours.
TP
Wait, your own whiteness or you saw? I didn't know. That wasn't very clear because I was speaking on my own whiteness.
Sidney
Okay, go carry on.
TP
So I went to the doctor's office, and I think there's something inside of me that, like, if I know if I can visually see somebody not having, like, the best day, I, like, want to talk to them. And sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. And so the nurse walked in and she wasn't having it. She said, can you step on the scale? I said, yeah, I hit my head on the scale. Cause I'm huge. And she was like, that's never happened before. And I was like, yeah, I get that a lot. We go into the room and she's asking me questions. So I just started asking her questions. I was like, so where are you from? And she was like, new Orleans. I was like, oh, really? What high school did you go to? Her irritation level was kind of growing with me at this point. And she was like, oh, I went to East Jeff. And I was like, oh, cool. Go, Pirates. And she didn't respond. She was just like, I need to take your blood pressure. And that was that.
Sidney
You thinking she's in the mood for, like, school spirit when she's having the worst day of her life?
TP
Also, she didn't say ease, Jeff. Like, she had passion for it. Like, she was just like, eavesdrop.
Sidney
Not even.
TP
I was like, go, Pirates. Yeah.
TMP (rapper or intro artist)
Yes, yes, yes. Yeah, we say what we want and yeah, we say what we feel Sitting TMP in a mix and they be keeping it real on brand, off topic, out of pocket Anything you need, they got it Watch you shop when you know they gonna block it when it's game time. And you know I'm gonna block it with everything. Like, whoa, who harder than us? And yeah, we looking down on haters cause they smaller than us and yeah, my flow is so depth I be coughing it up. You said that we gone flat more than I'm calling your blood.
Sidney
Unsupervised. Unsupervised. Unsupervised. I think we got something else we should address.
TP
I don't know, maybe we. We can have you guys bring it up. So say something.
Sidney
Did you notice something different right at the beginning of the show? So Tierra Whack did our intro song, Theme song, intro song, whatever. She did it. So don't worry about the, like, wording I'm using. Just pay attention to the message.
TP
Exactly.
Sidney
Sierra Whack laid a track down for us. So this was a crazy how all of it came about. So met her at game four of the finals in Brooklyn. What, when we won in 2023?
TP
Yep.
Sidney
Had met her, like, maybe a couple months before. Like, she had been at a previous game in New York, and she's a basketball fan, so it was pretty wild. Like, we started. We just started texting, playing anagrams. Like, I love anagrams because.
TP
Love a word game.
Sidney
I love a word game. And she's smart, so she's good at it. So, you know, she's. She's making a lot of words. So you were taking those, right? Sometimes I was, but whoa. So I hate playing people who don't know a lot of words. I'm like, why would you even send the request? It's bar. It's embarrassing.
TP
It's like when you play like one on one against second graders, like, you know you're going to beat them like, it was murder.
Sidney
So we're chopping it up. We end up meeting, you know, at that game. We keep in touch. We have like a long FaceTime call one day, like, me, her, Marty, and say, Marty's sister. And we're like, I finally. I'm like, you know, towards the end of the call, I'm like, look, you got to come on to our podcast when me and TP finally get one. Or you gotta be like, on season two of our show, if we get that. And she was like, yeah, for sure. Like, just hit me. I'm like, I'm really gonna hit you. So actually respond. You know, people say shit a lot of times, like, oh, yeah, get at me, get at me. And they never follow through. But she actually listened. So when time came for us to be looking for a theme song or, like, intro music. You know, they're sending us songs, but it's like, no words. It's just like instrumentals or whatever. And I'm like, wait a minute, let me hit Tierra. Like, she said that she would be a part of this, you know, so I'm like, you know, hey, what's up? Like, we're looking to have a theme song. Like, I just feel like you would be the perfect person to do it. Like, you're goofy, like, creative. Like, obviously a great rapper and lyricist. Like, I just feel like she would put a funny spin onto an intro for a pod between the two of us, for sure. She's. She was like, you know, let me look to see, like, some of my unreleased stuff and see if some of that fits the vibe. So she went through it with her team, I guess, but she ends up sending me this, like, two weeks later, like a week or two later, and is like, how's this? Or, like, what you think about this? I think it's amazing. What.
TP
We'll settle for this. And by subtle, I mean we're thrilled.
Sidney
Like, what? Completely above. Like, went above and beyond what I could. What I could have imagined.
TP
Yeah.
Sidney
So I'm just like, you know, shout out to Tierra. It was so kind of her to take the time to do that and to just be a part of, like, something that we're starting together. But it's a huge deal. Like, she's Grammy nominated, like, just a talented artist.
TP
Yeah.
Sidney
She's worked with Beyonce. She knows literal songs with Beyonce.
TP
I know, Sid, you're obsessed.
Sidney
Am I bi? I don't know.
TP
But, like, you're slowly coming to terms with that one.
Sidney
Yeah. But it's just shout out to her. I think that was just a really.
TP
I think it's just really awesome. Like, everything that she is as a person, the way that she goes about her work and her art, it's just she. She doesn't allow people to put her in a box. And whether that's style, whether the genre, whether that's like, how she dresses and how she expresses herself, she's her through and through.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
And that's what I love most about her and her music.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
But I think when it comes to this pod, it's kind of symbolic because that's what we want to be. We want this podcast to feel like it's just authenticity and. And us being true to who we are. So having someone like that doing the intro for us and, you know, you know, Blessing us with such an. I've never had my name in a song before. Actually, I lied in Freakalique. They say Teresa girl. What?
Sidney
Keep going. Don't piss me off.
TP
I'm just saying they also said my name in that song. So this was technically the second song, but.
Sidney
Oh, same for me. Damian Lillard put me in a freestyle of his.
TP
Oh, really?
Sidney
To brag. But two songs my name's in, so.
TP
Okay, same. So anyway, I had to DM Tierra.
Sidney
Naturally.
TP
Naturally. So I said, hey girl, we haven't met yet, but I heard so many wonderful things about you from Sid. I'm such a huge fan of your creativity and self expression. I'm tp, Sid's friend. I just wanted to reach out and say thank you so much for doing the intro song to our podcast. It brought tears in my eyes because it was so cool. I couldn't hardly believe that this is real life. Secondly, it was so kind of you to do that for us. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much. I can't wait to meet you one of these days. And thanks again for spreading positively positivity on this crazy planet of ours. And not only did I send it, but I got a reply back in four minutes. So like humbly, she got back to me. I don't know how many people she gets back to, but I just so happen to be one.
Sidney
Well, since friend is also crazy because you're the co host of the pod and co star of the show.
TP
Yeah, but we never met before. I felt like it was a very non.
Sidney
But she knows who you are. She put your name in the song. Keep carrying.
TP
Now she knows who I am for sure. She said can't wait to meet you. Same girl so happy I got to be a part of your show. In some way. This message made my day. So what I want everyone to take from this is that if you just send a simple message of kindness, it could make somebody's day. And also, tear wagged in our intro.
Sidney
Song.
TP
We'Re limited in that high five. Okay, we did it anyway.
Sidney
Thank you, Tiara. Damn it. It gets me every time. Well, I love that for us.
TP
So this is the most important part of our pod. We thank our sponsors.
Sidney
One second.
TP
All right, that's seven.
Sidney
Thanks, girly pop.
TP
Okay, that's taken care of. What a job. One day we won't have to do that anymore.
Sidney
One day. All right, my whiteness story. Apparently Stephanie Coach White team play for the Indiana Fever. We just clinched a spot in the playoffs even though we have Six remaining healthy players left. So shout out to us, man.
TP
Shout out.
Sidney
We have 15 players in a. In a team picture, which has never been seen in the wnba, but it should be seen. They should have added spots before they added new teams. But anyways, Steph's sister apparently made puppy chow for us and, like, brought it in little bags. So Puppy chow is, like, checks mix with the powdered sugar, chocolate, peanut butter, I think, like. But you melt some of nutty buddies. That. That, too. But I think it's called. It's called both.
TP
Oh, muddy buddies, actually. I didn't hear puppy job, but okay, so.
Sidney
And then you, like, shake it up so it looks like it's just covered in powdered sugar. So I only knew this because I went to a white university. Okay. So the black people on our team, the. Is this in this bag? You know, so when I come. I come a little late and get mine, I'm like, oh, shit, is this Puppy Joe? So then I'm like, in the training room, I'm like, did y' all get some of the puppy chowder? Like, is that. I'm like, it's good. Like, I thought the same. I thought the same before, but it is nice. So then I'm like. I'm like, it is a white snack. So then I'm walking out. I'm like, it's like, if you like ants on a log. As I'm walking out of the. Out of the training room, saying, ants on the log, somebody. I forgot who was in the training room. They were like, what's. What's the answer on the log? And as I'm walking out, our white assistant trainer is like, oh, it's on a log. I'm like, ants on a log is the whitest treat I ever saw.
TP
It's not a treat.
Sidney
Whatever snack. It's like celery with peanut butter and raisins on top.
TP
Why people love a raisin?
Sidney
What the.
TP
Do you people love a raisin?
Sidney
I like raisins, too, but not with celery and peanut butter.
TP
Throwing raisins and stuff. Thinking like, oh, I put a special ingredient.
Sidney
Girl, y' all gotta stop.
TP
That's not special or secret. I can see exactly what that is.
Sidney
Y' all gotta.
TP
I'm not eating that Mac and cheese. No, we do have to cut it out. 20, 26 white people stop throwing raisins and things that raisins don't belong in. Yeah, because I'm sick of hearing the jokes on us. Like, I fall in that community, even though I've never Once thrown a raisin into something that it wasn't supposed to be in. So, like, just come on, we can do better. We can do it.
Sidney
We can do it. I'm sorry that happened to you.
TP
No, it's okay.
Sidney
Y'. All. There's an epidemic going around, and it's just people not having any shame, and I'm really sick of it. So we're gonna start a segment called Bring Back Shame. We'll talk about anything under the sun. It's just, like, if somebody needs to be shamed, we'll let you know. All right, so this week, you're. You're the football fans. You can.
TP
So I am the football fan. Unfortunately, my Saints did lose this weekend, but so did this Bills fan after DeAndre Hopkins had a crazy catch in the end zone. Also shout out to DeAndre. He's doing what he's doing in his 30s. DeAndre's killing it. Anyway, he scored. He was. They were, like, kind of celebrating, and they were, like, looping in the end zone, but around the bottom bowl, a fan shoved DeAndre. And then the fan got shoved by Lamar, and now the fan is permanently banned or indefinitely banned. And also, he got shoved.
Sidney
He shoved two people. It's like, are you good?
TP
He deserved to be shoved.
Sidney
Yeah, 100%.
TP
Because if in any other, like, place in life.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
If you get shoved, if you just push somebody, are you shoving back? You're going to be like, hey, yeah.
Sidney
Watch it there, pal. Yeah. If you give a, like, a good presentation at work, like, great PowerPoint and you're walking back to your seat and somebody, like, shoves you, I'm a shove you back. What? Whether I did a good job or not. Are you cool? I don't.
TP
In. The guy pushed with some, like, hate in his heart. Like, it wasn't just, like, a shove. It was like a shovel, sir. Like, you can't be doing that, like, just. Because if you're upset that your team is losing, they ended up winning. But I'm like, you were a little premature in your right. Male rage.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
That you felt towards the Ravens, because that was so beyond unnecessary and embarrassing. Yeah. So.
Sidney
So he's banned now, right?
TP
He's banned. And also, we're gonna give you an unsupervised. Shame on you, sir.
Sidney
Shame, shame, shame, shame, shame. Gotta start doing that to people, because that was. That was nuts. And it just. It speaks to the fact, like, us as professional athletes, like, we're probably the league that's closest to our fans.
TP
Yeah.
Sidney
And people. Do fans start to feel a sense of entitlement. It's like so grateful for your support. I'm glad you enjoy what we do. But. But we do not belong to you. Like, we don't. People don't actually owe you anything. You're making the choice to come and support these athletes or whatever field people are in. You're deciding to go to their venue, their concert, their game, their whatever to support. It's much appreciated by people. But you can't put your hands on people.
TP
There's a line that you can't cross and people, they.
Sidney
It started. It started to get blurred. I think especially with social media, people develop these parasocial relationships. You think you're something with people. It's like, y' all gotta.
TP
Pipe down.
Sidney
Be cool. Be so cool. It's getting weird. So I'm glad he was banned.
TP
He need to be banned. Sorry that, that you went through that. Lamar and DeAndre, y' all didn't deserve that. Keep on Yalls grind. I know that week one loss is going to be tough.
Sidney
Maybe. Grind on me. Relax your mind and take your time with me. You say grind.
TP
So it just grind?
Sidney
Yeah, it just made me think of that.

TMP (rapper or intro artist)
Unsupervised.
TP
We have a 16 year old 66 year old tuba player. Shout out to the Tigers. We got. Technically it's a salsa phone, but okay, on a technicality. But we have Mr. Kent Broussard, who always dreamed of being in the LSU band. And he did that. 66 years old, they're calling him.
Sidney
Never give up on your dreams unless you absolutely suck at what you're doing. And then you got to be self aware and start to live in reality. You do have to give up at a certain point. Point. But not in his case.
TP
He never gave up. 66 years and he got to live out his dream. And they're calling him Tiger. Tuba Kent. Oh, Tuba Tiger Kent. Yeah, whatever it is.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
He's making his way on the number three team in the whole ncaa. Shout out to the Tigers once again, ladies and gentlemen.
Sidney
Girl, you think that he's actually. Wait, so does he have to be enrolled in, like, classes and stuff to be a part of the band?
TP
I thought that they did have eligibility because I'm like, why wouldn't you just keep your best band members until you didn't. You couldn't, right? Anymore.
Sidney
You think he's staying in the dorms and they call them Pops or they call them pop up or Gramps or Uncle. He's too old for unc, though.
TP
Okay.
Sidney
That's kind of nuts.
TP
Like, that is nuts.
Sidney
What's he doing on campus?
TP
I wonder what he's studying. Hey, Ken, if you're watching this, let us know what you're studying. We are so interested. And also shout out to you. You were killing it on the tuba. We saw you. You even got some TV time, sir. You're doing it.
Sidney
He runs over 25 miles weekly. It says he runs over 25 miles weekly, lift weights and relearned his instrument to audition.
TP
So are you trying to get on the football field next week?
Sidney
Because that running 25 miles weekly is so unnecessary.
TP
That's a lie.
Sidney
You're overdoing it, bro. If you're trying to make it to 67, ease up. Just kidding. Shout out to you, Kentucky. Keep doing your thing. Cardi B. I don't know if you saw the video, but she was like, out. Out in the streets, selling her album, promoting her album. And I just. People were like, laughing or making. I was seeing some stuff. Like, there were mixed reviews, as always. People are haters online, but I feel like that's like genius marketing her being out there. Can you imagine? I couldn't have imagined walking by, like, walking the streets in Houston and I see Destiny's Child or with like, A sheet laid down and their album is down there. Or, like, vinyl or merch. You know how crazy that would be. To interact with them and also be able to buy their music from.
TP
From them.
Sidney
Which leads me to. I used to love getting CDs, like, having a physical copy of CDs back in the day to pull out, like, this. The. The sleeve and look at the lyrics, like, while they're singing the songs. Like, that used to be how you learn the lyrics. And looking at the music. I used to hate if there were albums and they didn't have all the lyrics. Like, why would you put this in here? That's the biggest thing I need. I like the pictures, but I'm trying to know what you're saying. Especially if it was to Tony Braxton, like, once she went from singing regular to, like, a little bit of. More, like, mumbling and stuff is like.
TP
You needed clarity.
Sidney
I need clarity. I need clarity in. So probably my favorite album back in the day was. I don't know if it was my first, but the Writings on the Wall was my favorite by far. And it's still a goated album. It's no skips. I know the intro to the outro. It's an amazing album, front to back, so. I also had Eminem. I used to be rapping crazy lyrics when I was younger.
TP
Were you angry?
Sidney
No. That's good.
TP
No. No. I didn't think so. My first album and also probably my favorite was Baby One More Time. I remember when Brittany was that little skimpy school uniform. I was like, wow, is this what high school is really? Like? This is crazy. I. And I was like, I figured I was gonna go to a girl's Catholic school where you had to wear uniforms like that. And I was like, I wonder if everyone has to, like, tie it up uptight. And we're like, it really? I was like, maybe this is just for some girls. I didn't do it.
Sidney
Okay, so you didn't want to be her? You just.
TP
No, I wanted to. I was so intrigued by Brittany. Like, I was obsessed with Brittany. She was my first concert, and, you know, hang in there, girl. We love you, girl.
Sidney
Oh, for real? Like, people piss me off when they're making fun of her.
TP
Yeah.
Sidney
I'm not gonna lie.
TP
She's been through a lot. And I'm just like, she. She was.
Sidney
She was that girl.
TP
She was that girl. She was Taylor Swift before Taylor Swift. Like, you couldn't. You couldn't find one person that didn't know who Britney Spears was?
Sidney
No, she Was she was the it girl back then and she had hit.
TP
After hit, banger after banger. And like, honestly continued on to, like, her Womanizer album. Like, I still kept up with her throughout the years. She's also from Louisiana, so I love.
Sidney
Seeing gay men do Britney Spears Choreo.
TP
Oh, my God, the game.
Sidney
They know that so well.
TP
Tear that, that, Tear it up.
Sidney
But. Yeah, but that's hilarious that that was your first album.
TP
And she was my first concert too. I remember I had a time and a half and then my second concert was in sync. Bye Bye Bye or no Strings Attached. No strings attached.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
And that was when they did the Bye Bye Bye and they came in like, oh, yeah. With their puppets. I like, wanted to do that so bad.
Sidney
Oh, okay.
TP
You want to do that one day?
Sidney
Yeah, yeah, we'll do it. We'll do it. Something nostalgic for you. I'm down.
TP
Oh, cool.
Sidney
I love that.
TP
Who do you want to be?
Sidney
Shoot. What's his name? He got the soul. He got the more sofa voice. Hello.
TP
J.C. chazay.
Sidney
He didn't. He didn't get enough.
TP
I knew he wanted to be the vocalist. He had vocals for real. He did, he did.
Sidney
Still does. I think. I think I heard him on something not long ago. Or like just on Social.
TP
But bringing it on back to Cardi B. If I saw her.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
On the streets of New York.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
I would lose my mind. And I would wait in however long of a line to make sure that I got my CD signed. T shirt signed, whatever it was. But that's marketing at its best right there.
Sidney
Yeah. And I just love it. Cuz bring back physical copies of stuff.
TP
Yeah.
Sidney
Like there's going to come a time where you can't access whatever is online on the cloud. Like, I don't even know how that stuff works. What is WI fi and how it is? How is it effective? But we have the nerve to be like, mad when it doesn't work.
TP
Yeah.
Sidney
But I bet it's such a complex, complex.
TP
And you don't even know where to direct your energy to. Like, where's it? You're like, looking up. You're like looking at a modem. The modem's just simply, like amplifying it. You don't know who you need to be complete into. You're just.
Sidney
I'm just not happy. It's not working fast enough. So bring back digital. I mean, bring back physical, physical. Gotta let go of digital everything.
TP
Also sticking on the topic of music.
Sidney
Mm.
TP
And we have. We have artists getting Healthy.
Sidney
Yeah, we do. We have artists rebranding themselves.
TP
Completely rebranding themselves. And I guess we'll start with our guy Gunna. So from Rico.
Sidney
From Rico to rebrand is what he's doing.
TP
Gun has been wanting to run lately.
Sidney
Yeah, bro. When I saw, I saw something online. They were talking about his new like this, this 5k race he was doing and somebody was like, they got to change it. Like it's got to be something. The name of his clothing brand or something needs to be run. A and people were like, you gotta trademark this. Get this cop. Like whatever they were saying. I'm like, yeah, that was actually. And it wasn't some like crazy idea, but it was just perfect.
TP
It was perfect. But on that note, not even the most hilarious thing. Okay.
Sidney
So Lil Jon made his official bodybuilding debut at 54 years old, placing third in the 2025 Muscle Beach Championships. Lil John DM me last year.
TP
Oh no.
Sidney
Yeah, I hate to call you out, Lil John, but yeah, we're beefing. So all caps mind you in this message from him and I don't know if it's. I don't know if it's an age thing cuz my grandma also does it or it's just he's always yelling.
TP
Maybe it's like that's how they want to get typed too so they can read it.
Sidney
What's up? It's Lil Jon and I just launched my new health and wellness brand Soul Chakra and I love to send you a promo package. Send me an address and it's in the mail. If you like it and rock it, please tag. And then Soul Chakra. It couldn't be in caps because it's an. It's an ad. But then thanks Praying Hands also couldn't be in all caps, but I responded with the emoji. That's yelling. I said, hey, that's what's up, Little John. I love to receive one. Here's my Addie gave the Addie. This was when I was in Vegas. Obviously he said lol, but small letters. So I'm like, damn.
TP
So he gave up on the funny.
Sidney
I guess he's heard the yeah before. What size, Little John? I gave you my size. I gave you my size if I was a man or a woman. You told me. Gotcha. Not in all caps. So I should have known something was up. I never got from you, Little John.
TP
Oh, I'm sorry, Sid.
Sidney
It's fine, I guess.
TP
Oh, Sid.
Sidney
I just thought. I don't know, I thought we had something and maybe you know, I mean, oh, well, this is just the team reaching out or whatever, but I'm like, why me? And then why lie? Little John, I trusted you.
TP
I'm sorry that you had to experience that because I know you were really looking forward to that.
Sidney
I was.
TP
You also lead a life of health. I do fitness. So this was right up your alley.
Sidney
Right up my alley.
TP
And it just kind of feels like they set you up for an alley and then left you.
Sidney
Yeah, Maybe if I snap my fingers, then I'll get one. That was a snap your fingers joke. Shout out to millennials.
TP
Yeah.
Sidney
Because that was our time period.
TP
That's some good music right there.
Sidney
Great music.
TP
Really good music.
Sidney
So sorry I had to call you out, Lil John, but it had to be done and.
TP
But like, we'll still accept the pack.
Sidney
Oh, congratulations. Congrats on bronze too.
TP
Oh, yeah, that's incredible. Going from crunk cup to bodybuilding is quite the feat. And just give some snaps for Little John right there. Also, can you throw a large into that pack for Sid? I'll take one as well. Yeah. So that's our beef with you.
Sidney
So this is a big deal. The, the hall of Fame inductions happen and Sylvia Files, Maya Moore and Sue Bird were inducted and into the Naismith Memorial Basketball hall of Fame, to be specific. But I, I saw Maya's speech the other day and I don't know if people have seen it, but she was just, she said, she called herself auntie in the speech and said that she was basically going to encourage the next generation and was just talking about being a good teammate, like being a good person, like pushing the people next to you, not letting jealousy and ego get in the way of you getting better or making other people better. And I felt like it was very appropriate, not just for sports, but for people in life. I think people are not doing a good job nowadays of like really having community. How many people don't know their neighbors? How many people don't know people you work with or, you know, take time to give people like a helping hand or a word of encouragement or, you know, push people even if you are competing. Like, we've been on W teams for however long now, but just because you're in the same position as somebody doesn't mean that you can't compete and also uplift them. Like both things are possible. And typically when you do do those things, you both come out better for it. But people are short sighted and dumb, so they don't. Or just straight up selfish. But whatever it is I thought her speech was really good, and it made me think about Maya's stories that I have. Man, shout out to Maya. She was incredible.
TP
Maya was cold blooded, man. And also, it speaks a lot to. She was on all the UConn championship teams, and then for her USA Olympics, then all the championships she won with the Lynx. Like, she's incredible. It's. With that mentality that she has, it's no wonder that she's been so successful throughout her on top of the fact that she's just ultra talented. And she walked away like she was in her prime and was just like, you know what? I'm gonna do good deeds outside of basketball.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
And then she.
Sidney
I'm going up that hill to get my man. That's what she said. So played with Maya in 2018. I went to Minnesota for, like, the end of the regular season, and I was hyped because I was like, this is a team with, like, Maya Simone, Sil.
TP
Oh, you were on Dream Team.
Sidney
That team. And it was the end of the season, so it was a few regular season games left, and then we were about to be in playoffs. We ended up losing in the first round of playoffs, and I was like, wait, to who? That was my chance. I don't even remember. It was a blur. But good news, she was, you know me, like, I joke around wherever I am. So this is us in, like, warm up blinds. We'll get this picture to be big.
TP
We're gonna blow this up.
Sidney
We'll blow this up.
TP
Cindy's doing what Grandma's doing. Try to show you a picture from 17 miles away.
Sidney
Shoot. I like, shot in the line. And then I was like, yeah, Maya. So you want to hold your follow through like this. Like me trying to give advice to Maya Morris. She. She walked in for the game, so she's not really in a joking mood, but I got my off. So that was funny to me. But when I played against her in high school, she was number one in our class. And I typically stayed, like, in Texas and in surrounding areas in Houston for tournaments because our team was just, like, smaller. We didn't do all that. And so once we were going to basketball in the Bayou, I knew we were gonna, like, see them. So I'm like, yeah, I want to see what she's like. Like, you hear something?
TP
Y' all reference. Basketballs of Bayou is a basketball tournament that they host for, like, a hundred plus plus AAU and travel ball teams.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
And typically New Orleans.
Sidney
Yes. So this particular year, though, it was in Alabama because of hurricane Katrina. So what's the name of the arena.
TP
That best weld by Theo Center.
Sidney
Center was, like, flooded or, you know.
TP
There was a ton of damage.
Sidney
Too much going on around it for. For us to play there. So I'm ready to see, you know, what number one in the nation looks like in real life. So I hit my dad, and I was like. I was like, do you remember, like, stuff from that game? Because I just remember she was so long and so big. She was just like. She had a pro body.
TP
Yeah.
Sidney
As a high school.
TP
As a high school kid.
Sidney
And I was like, I just remember she ripped me at half court because she was so long. I'm thinking I'm about to get this crossover of, like, no, I'm right there. I'm sitting on that. So she stole it. I was like, I think I still had a good game, but I can't remember if, like, a lot of scouts were there or anything like that. My dad was like, oh, my God. You don't remember? He said, you hit six 30 footers in front of Pat Summit. Mind you, like, when I was in high school, I just, like, did what I want. I was just, like, hooping out across half court, a little bit over half court, and like, little poo. I'm letting it. I'm letting that thing fly. So he said, you hit 630 footers in front of Pat Summit. Her son kept nudging her, and she was like, I see. I see. She was like, Mr. Colson, I've been friends with Gary Coach Blair, who was my coach at A and M for years. I know Sidney committed, but I knew nothing about her. And whoever is covering Texas for me is getting fired, but I'm offering her right now. And all of this was in front of coach Blair, my dad, and, like, coach Daniel, my. My AAU coach and my AU coach. Coach Daniel said, Maya asked what my name was, and that particular team she played for, the Georgia Metros, they were, like, stacked. They had, like, more than half of their team was deep. Went D1.
TP
Yeah.
Sidney
Like, Kelly Kane was on that team. Kelly, she ended up going to Tennessee. My dad said we were up by 16 at the half but ran out of gas. But you had, like, 44 points. And I was like, I need that footage ASAP.
TP
So we got to get that footage.
Sidney
We need that. We need that.
TP
Because also, when you were telling me this story, you weren't like, you didn't say that you did. Well, you only told me that she ripped you at half court. You never told me that you were a living legend in the game as well.
Sidney
My memories. But no, for real. Sometimes I forget offensively what I used to do, because my game just changed once I got to college and once I got to the pros. It's just like, I'm a pretty, like, prototypical pass first point guard. That's just, like, what I morphed into. And I didn't have no problem with that. I was just, like, cool, if this is what the team needs, right? I'm gonna do this. Play defense. Like, that was our M.O. at A and M. So it was what it was. So him reminding me. I was like, yeah, let me see that so I can remember who I am during my ACL recovery.
TP
I need these for a pick me up. You were coming for her number one title? It seems like.
Sidney
Absolutely not. That girl was.
TP
No, you can't. It's impossible. She got a little bit more playing time than you, so I think the stats are a bit skewed. I think if you would have got playing time in the same way that she did. I'm just gonna leave that sentence right there.
Sidney
Yeah, y' all fill in the blank.
TP
Well, since on the. Since we're on the topic of Maya, I had the opportunity to play against her, and it was actually our preseason game, my. My rookie year, and I got unfortunately switched on to Maya in the corner, and it was just me and Maya, and I'm just staring the greatest player praying the world in the eyes, and I'm like, oh, gosh. And I'm like, this can't get any worse, right? When I think that she waves off everybody, she's like, everyone clear. Clear it out. And I'm turning around like, no, no, no. Please, let's stay in the upline. Everybody come back. So obviously, Maya tries to dry baseline on me. She beats me baseline. But I, like, fouled her really hard. It wasn't called, though. I fouled her really hard. I tried to do, like, a rap steal where you, like, just put behind them back. Yeah, I did do that, but I, like, smacked her across her whole back as well. The ball went off her knee went out of bounds. It was our ball. Hey. And somehow I made the team. That Euros. Probably my defense on Maya more, if I had to guess.
Sidney
They said, if she can stop buying more, she can.
TP
We need her.
Sidney
She can stop anybody.
TP
That was the last time I got to play.
Sidney
That was m. Like, damn foul. Was she, like, complaining about it?
TP
She wasn't, like, complaining about it.
Sidney
Now she. She didn't really complain.
TP
She didn't complain at all. Which is something that we need to bring back as well.
Sidney
Kind of just better than all of y'. All. So I'm not going to say too much.
TP
She was like, this kid's probably not going to be the league long anyway. Let me let. Let her have her moment.
Sidney
You know what? That's.
TP
Let me have my moment, Maya. It really meant a lot.
Sidney
That's a good woman.
TP
And I'll forever remember that day. One of the best plays I've ever made. Damn, I love it in my whole career.
Sidney
Okay, so onto the other members of that class, Sylvia. Big Sil.
TP
Big Sil. As a lady tiger, Sylvia was one of the most influential people in my decision making. The way that she was just so dominant but so gracious at the same time. And anyone who's ever, like, met Sil, whether you know her or not, knows that she's famous for these strong, chiropractic bear hugs.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
And she makes you feel so loved and like, you're the only person on this earth. And that's what she does off the court. But what she does on the court is rearrange your inner organs if you were ever in her way. There was no true way to actually guard Sylvia.
Sidney
No.
TP
You would just have to make sure that the ball didn't get to her. You would have to, like, pray that it doesn't. Pray. There was a ton of prayers that went into it.
Sidney
Even if you weren't religious. You were praying.
TP
You were praying, and you were, like, hard fronting and, like, showing a heavy backside. Yeah. So that there was no lie. Like, you were just in trouble. In one way or another, you were in trouble.
Sidney
So for our basketball fans, fronting is staying in front, obviously of. Well, not obviously staying in front of the offensive player when you're on defense. And then the backside is somebody from your team who needs to. They need to be in help.
TP
They need to be there. And if they're not in the lob, pass gets there. And that's how easy layups happen.
Sidney
And you get subbed out.
TP
So that's the importance of help side.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
Anyway, so Sylvia dominated all that. Sylvia also is probably one of the most interesting people on this earth, 100%, because Sylvia Post collegiately, out of everything that we can do on this earth, Sylvia wanted to get her. Her mortician's license.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
And her degree in that field in.
Sidney
Like, mortuary science or something like that.
TP
Something like that. And honestly, like, on my worst day, I would love to deal with someone as pleasant as Sylvia.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
Like, the more I think about it, but I'm like, sylvia, we need to get you on the pod girl, because I have a few questions. I want to know why. I want to know what sparked your interest initially. And I want to know. I just want to know all about.
Sidney
You, because I can tell you a little bit.
TP
Tell me.
Sidney
All right.
TP
Please enlighten me.
Sidney
She said, I feel like the main people. The main reason people are scared of death is a lack of education. The human body is fascinating. To see it when it's open, like when it comes from a corner, and to see the fluid get pushed through the arteries, like, to actually push out the blood, I think is one of the most fascinating things. You can read about it in a book, but to actually visualize it is fascinating. I've been fascinated with death as far back as I can remember. Even as a kid, I was curious about it. Where do we go when we leave here? When you die, what happens to you? Americans don't talk about it enough. When I go to Europe and play, everyone has plans set in place for when they die. It's just so open. I just want to be an advocate for it. I thought about it plenty of times even before I started working at a funeral home. I would love to be cremated if my kids want it, and if they don't, I would like to donate my body to science. Maybe I want to be turned into a coral reef because I love to be so cool. I figure somebody can do some good with this body. It's a big body, and that's a big coral reef. This is so interesting, though, also hilarious, because you said she used to rearrange your organs.
TP
She did rearrange my organs. She went through. She went through.
Sidney
You working on her degree, like, but.
TP
All right, let's see what's pumping through these arteries.
Sidney
But I love that about her. Like, that's pretty cool, too. I would like still to take care of my body when. When I die.
TP
It is interesting how the points that she brings up, like, I don't think that it's. I don't do well with blood and stuff like that and especially, like, all the other stuff that she mentioned. But it is interesting how, you know, European civilization, Western civilizations, how we do it over here, like, the differences on how people age and, like, death and what that looks like for people. So it is really interesting that she wants to be an advocate for, you know, normalizing that this is inevitable, this is going to happen, and you better be prepared.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
Because it happens to every single Person.
Sidney
Yeah, no, I think it's awesome. My s story is it was recent, actually. We were at Karima and Austin son. Their son Zane. He had a birthday party at the zoo here in Indy at the indie zoo and still was there. Like, obviously her and Rema are still cool. And she bear hugged me. Then I'm like, I'm 35 still.
TP
Like, did she swing you around a little bit?
Sidney
Yes, she always. So once I'm up there, I'm kind of just like, we. I like, kick my feet back a little bit. I'm like, it is a fun ride, but don't like, send me to the more quicker than needed by squeezing the shit out of me.
TP
Place me down. Place me down.
Sidney
Good to see you though. Still. I forgot to mention it, but still is also beautiful.
TP
Gorgeous.
Sidney
Still looks like an Egyptian queen. She looks like she would have been in Michael Jackson's Remember the Time video.
TP
Oh, my God.
Sidney
Over everybody. They probably wouldn't want that because, you know, you gotta be.
TP
No, she would be the centerpiece.
Sidney
She would be.
TP
She would be the centerpiece. Like, she'd be coming down, there'd be a nice glow on her. She would just be like, radiant and herself. And I'm just kind of like. I could see it now.
Sidney
Yeah. Do you remember when we found the. Do you remember?
TP
We're gonna make this a karaoke pod one day. But again, stay tuned. We are making a group. We're gonna have tryouts. We're looking for anybody with singing ability, dancing ability. But you have to have both.
Sidney
Have to. But shout out to them, to them. The last player, Sue.
TP
Last but not least, Sue.
Sidney
Sue Bird. Shout out to Sue. Man. I remember coming into the league in 2011. I played in New York. So sometimes we would, like, go out after the games with like, the vets or whatever. So we were at this place and somebody was like, asking what I do. I was like, oh, I play in the wnba. And they were like, you know, like, what's that? And I was like, oh, you have a team here, but it's a women's national. I always do. Like, have you heard of the NBA? Like, yeah, yeah, of course. Well, it's just. It's for women. I would think you would hear WNBA and automatically think, oh, women's right. People are stupid.
TP
Get a life.
Sidney
Get a life. Read a book. So the person was like, okay, yeah, I don't know much about basketball. And they're like, wait, suburb play for y'. All. And I'm like, no, she's in the league. But On a different team.
TP
She's in the union.
Sidney
But they were like, they gotta do a better job of marketing, y'. All. They like, I remember back when like they, they would shove sue like down my throat. I remember sue and, and it was another girl. It was like probably Diana. They were like, yeah, I remember them. They used to talk about them a lot. Yeah, the rest of y' all need to market better. But I was like, yeah, sue has been around for. Or sue was around for a long time. It actually was so impressive to see how long and successful her career was.
TP
And it's almost like the older she got, the more efficient she got. Like some of her best numbers happened like towards the end of her career. Like her assist to turnover ratio was like, I want to say in her second to last season was the best it's ever been been. And things like that. But I just remember her efficiency. And she was also just a cheat code. Like it was so unfair to have somebody like Sue, a coach on the court.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
In that sense. And also being a point guard, being able to make plays, call plays for the right people, time in possession, etc.
Sidney
Like, she was a true point guard.
TP
And if, if anyone didn't know a player to your, to your point in the wnba and you just bring up Sue Bird and be like, oh yeah, no Sue. Yeah, she plays also in the wnba.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
Like she, I feel like, is one of the most recognizable faces of the W when you're talking to non W fans.
Sidney
Oh, without a doubt.
TP
And we were also. It was. This was actually one of our. At least. Like for me, the craziest experience for us was when there was like three game winning shots in Sue's last game when we won in Seattle. Yes, it came down to Jackie hitting that like last second layup. But sue hit a big three in the court corner. That put them up. One for us to have to hit a last second layup.
Sidney
We had crazy courtside seats.
TP
Crazy courtside. I was like, I can't believe we.
Sidney
Got these for free. I'm just like watching every game because I don't think we checked in.
TP
No, we didn't check in.
Sidney
But gratitude for just having such great seats for such good games, like at a time where the WNBA was like getting more popping, it was like, damn, we're really up here. Like watching us go at it, like, that was. That was a great series.
TP
It was insane.
Sidney
That was comparable to like last year's New York and mini series. That series shouldn't have been a semi finals series. No, it was like, that was a finals.
TP
Absolutely. But that, that arena, that day for Sue's last game, really, that series, the last two games of that series was crazy. My Uncle Megar and his family tried to get tickets, or they did get tickets, but he was like, man, these tickets were so hard to get. I was like, uncle, man, these are. This is Sue's last game. Like, you got to get them early. They got in and I think it was a sold out crowd. I think There was like 20,000 people there.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
But you could just feel the energy in that arena. Like, it wasn't for us by any means, but just to be in an atmosphere like that was incredible. It was like probably one of the most memorable experiences I've been through.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
Not beating, obviously, the championship series right after, but that was incredible for me. And another really awesome thing about Sue Bird is her storytelling ability. I don't know if you've ever heard sue tell a story, but she's the best.
Sidney
Yeah, she's speech was funny. I didn't get to finish it yet, but, like, the parts I heard were. Were really funny, which makes sense. I think you also got to give sue credit for being like. Like, yeah, she was a great basketball player, like a really great point guard. But, like, she's funny as hell.
TP
She's so funny and she's so quick with it.
Sidney
You can see it with like her own pod. Like, what is it? Bird's eye view. But then with her and Megan.
TP
Oh, I touched one touch more.
Sidney
I'm like, they're. They're good interviewers. Like, they are storytellers, in my opinion. And so I feel like she is somebody who is doing a good job of like, transitioning out of basketball.
TP
Yeah.
Sidney
Like, seamlessly into something into something else. Like whether it's commentating or comedy, like, whatever it is. So I think it's great that she's still, like, around and still shows up at their games. Like, I think that's.
TP
Yeah, she's very. She's very present and a big supporter of the W. And, you know, shout out to our hall of Fame members. Really awesome class. It was a really awesome class.
Sidney
New segment.
TP
I love this. Y' all know what it is. Just kidding. Once again, I lied. This is a new segment that y' all never heard of.
Sidney
It's called you mad. Oh.
TP
And this is where we talk about people who could be mad.
Sidney
It's like, why are you mad at this? Get a life.
TP
Get a life.
Sidney
So, you know, they were all pissed about male NFL, like, male cheerleaders. In the NFL. And I feel like y' all are. So.
TP
Men are up in arms about male cheerleaders in the NFL.
Sidney
I want to say this.
TP
Upset about men supporting men in tights.
Sidney
Which is crazy, because I'll say this. All this. All the hetero men that I know, they do not harbor ill will towards gay men. It really has no bearing on their life. Like, you're just not concerned. You're definitely not hateful toward them.
TP
No.
Sidney
Or hating on them. So the obsession with even talking about this, as though it's, like, ruining your viewing experience, when, mind you, you're at a football game wearing another man's jersey. You spend a lot of money to support these men. You're yelling these men's names. You have fantasy football teams, which is. What is the fantasy.
TP
Everyone you wish you had.
Sidney
Dive into why we use that terminology.
TP
Who's on your starting roster?
Sidney
Who's on your roster? When you talk about a roster, talk about a roster, it is your lineup of people that you talk to or mess with. So what makes y' all so up and all excited about these rosters you have on this fantasy league? I mean, you're. You're competing for money with it. You're betting on them. It's like you're obsessed with them. The male cheerleaders are just having fun and dancing.
TP
Right.
Sidney
You love these men.
TP
Also, you didn't buy tickets for the cheerleader. It's not like the cheerleaders are going to be on the field the whole game. You didn't come to watch their routines. You came to watch, again, men in tights run around and tackle each other to the ground.
Sidney
And it's always the most conventionally unattractive people.
TP
Yeah. They don't even want you.
Sidney
The most unattractive people. Nobody wants you. Stop worrying about what these gay cheerleaders. Nobody wants cheerleaders Are doing. They don't want you. The women don't. Your wife barely does. Your children don't like you. Shut up.
TP
Oh, get into it, Sid. But I just. I just respect it. Like. And also, there's been, historically, male cheerleaders everywhere. You go to A and M, you guys have.
Sidney
I went to. You went to A and M. We got yell leaders.
TP
You got yellers, which is yellow men yell leaders, which is a bunch of men yelling, getting the crowd all involved, hollering for the boys on the field. So I'm like. Unless you. If you are stark silent at a football game and you're sitting there, like, just watching, merely watching, that's one thing I don't want to hear any man complaining about cheerleader. I don't want to see you clap. I don't want to see you get upset if somebody doesn't catch the ball. I don't want to see you buy. I don't want to see you celebrate at all whatsoever. Because at the end of the day, you're cheering.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
Now you're just not good enough to be down there on the field doing it and getting paid for it.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
And we all know you tried. At some point you wanted to do it. I know you looked in the mirror at some point and you wanted to try.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
You can't lie to me and say.
Sidney
That you did it. Oh, like, I saw a video that was like, this woman was saying, I don't care what anybody says. I think all men have twerked at some point. Whether it's alone with your guy friends, joking around. Y' all all have done it. Stop acting like you did it. You twerked a little. You did, and it's okay. That doesn't make you gay. You know, what makes you gay is liking the same sex. Let's get that clear. Let's get that down to what color you let your kids wear, what toys you let them play with. I grew up watching tons of straight people on tv. Lo and behold, I was a lesbian.
TP
It did tons of straight books, tons of straight movies.
Sidney
It did not sway me to become straight because that wasn't in the car. So let's start understanding definitions of things and applying them to our lives into situations. Let's start critically thinking and analyzing things.
TP
Okay. We're bringing back shame and critical thinking. Like, we just need to do better. We have to just do better.
Sidney
We have to. It was like, Sierra called out Gilly the kid because he was in a ludicrous video in the past, twerking, like, really, like, booty was moving. You were doing it. Whether it was joking. He said he was, like, drunk or, like, intoxicated, whatever. You still did it.
TP
Yeah.
Sidney
And it's okay there.
TP
Whatever excuse comes behind it. The fact that if somebody said, hey, have you ever twerked before? You have to answer yes. We don't care if there's a butt.
Sidney
We don't need the caviar.
TP
But have you.
Sidney
That was a good pun.
TP
Thank you.
Sidney
But, like, it's. It's annoying because women also play into, like, straight women play into this, like, homophobia by making men feel like they can't just have fun and do things. You make men think they have to Be so masculine about everything. It makes them unlikable. It makes them hateful in some cases, like, let people do what they want to do and understand that a man singing a song, a man doing something sassy, a man painting his nails, a man twerking doesn't make somebody gay. It can make. It can be your preference to not want to be with somebody like that. But let's stop acting like that makes people gay. It's very ignorant and super ignorant. It's stupid. And you know I don't like stupidity. I think I've said stupid, stop being stupid several times.
TP
Can we get a stop being stupid count? Because we really need one of those right now for Sid. She's on a soapbox for stupidity today. We have no patience for it. Don't piss her off, y'. All. Please don't. Please don't.
Sidney
Okay. And that takes us to that clip you sent me. The male rage bait. So we're still under you mad cuz. Oh, it was funny, the women asking, like, recording, recording their boyfriends when they're.
TP
Like, this is so funny.
Sidney
If they wish they were athletic women.
TP
Male rage baiting a guy is so easy to do. It just takes one of two things. You either say something about height or you say something about athleticism and you're off the rocker. You could forget your kid at school. Guys will be like, he'll find his way home. If you bring up a fact that they're non athletic. There's divorce on the line coming for that because it's just kind of crazy. So there's a trend going on TikTok right now where girlfriends are asking their boyfriends, like, if they wish they were more athletic or if they wish they were taller. And some of them are actually like professional athletes. So those are really funny because it's like, do I wish I was more athletic? I'm a pro.
Sidney
I am athletic.
TP
I am athletic. But some guys are like, are you serious? I was the leading scorer on JV in ninth grade. Not everybody could do that. You're right, Craig. Not everybody could do that. But also, do you wish you were more athletic?
Sidney
You never answered.
TP
You still didn't answer. So I think based off your response, you might not have said yes or no, Craig. Yeah, but I do think you wish you were more athletic. So ladies, keep that up. We love a nice rage bait for the men. And another nice male trend.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
That isn't necessarily rage baiting.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
But it's bringing a softer side to.
Sidney
The tough guys, to some of them. Some of them Are like, but it's men saying goodnight to one another. This one was kind of old, but I saw a couple of them resurfacing. Is like, they're calling and just like, out of nowhere, just being like, all right, man.
TP
Hey, bro, what's good?
Sidney
Like, yeah, good night, dog. The one that I saw was, I think, the girl's boyfriend calling her dad. He was like, man, good night, man. And he was like, why? He said, man, what the hell you on? But it's like, all the videos were just like, it's funny, but it's also.
TP
Said, it is set.
Sidney
Oh, I hate to change. I'm that friend, first of all, that.
TP
You can cold call somebody just to say goodnight.
Sidney
I'm that friend who's gonna take a moment that's like, everybody's laughing about it. I'm like, actually, this is sad. Y' all can laugh. There is a funny part of it. But, like, why are men not. Why are we not saying good night? That's not even like.
TP
But do you think it has to do with the fact that it's a cold call?
Sidney
It doesn't. Like, I just thought about. I just thought about you. I wanted to say good night. Like, I hope you have a good night. They really kill them when they say sweet dreams. But I'm like, that's like, the sweetest thing you could say before he goes to bed.
TP
It's like, it is really nice.
Sidney
You probably have been having nightmares or you haven't been sleeping well. So I'm saying, sweet dreams, buddy.
TP
I would appreciate a call before bed like you, but, you know, I'd probably keep you on the phone for an hour if you tried to do that, so. Oh, I hope I get one from you. Let's hope. But, yeah, I don't. I do think that it could be time and time and space. Like, if I'm in my bed, I'm in. I'm a guy. I'm in my bed. I'm in my boxers, maybe.
Sidney
Okay. I'm picturing it.
TP
My homeboy. And I'm like, hey, bro, what's good? What's up, man? No, I just wanted to tell you that, you know, I hope you rest your head tonight and you get some. Some really good sleep. I know you've been needing it. I'd be like, well, what made you think of me in this moment? Like, we haven't talked about sleep in a minute. Like, why are you calling my phone right now?
Sidney
Cross my mind. Okay, I'll be the person. Go ahead, start over.
TP
All right.
Sidney
I'm the person calling you, though.
TP
Yeah.
Sidney
All right. So bring. Bring this 1970s phone.
TP
Sid, what's up?
Sidney
Hey. I'm just about to lay it down, so I just wanted to call. But we're men. I'm not sick. I just wanted to call and say, you know, good night, bro. Like, I hope you had a good day and stuff, and you sleep well.
TP
I love you.
Sidney
Play right?
TP
Oh, okay. I would say. What?
Sidney
Yeah, man, I just. I don't know. I had a long day today. Like, a lot of happened. I'm just. It was a rough day. I'm not gonna lie. I just didn't have nobody to talk to. But I was just thinking we hung out the other day. I'm like, man, let me check on my. My dog. Like, I hope you. I just hope you have a good night, man. I hope you had a good day, too. Like, this life is hard, man. I'm sorry. I'm.
TP
Man, man, you good?
Sidney
No, I'm good. I just. She's my girl.
TP
And work, she's going through some stuff right now. I don't really know.
Sidney
I'm like. It's a lot. I'll say that. It's a lot. But I don't want to put that on you right now because I don't want to unload. You might not be in that space, but I hope that your day was everything that you deserve.
TP
Man, are you good? Because I feel like I need to.
Sidney
Be calling your phone. No, no, you're good. You're good. You're good. My boy. I just hope you sleep well. Rest that beautiful little sexy hat on that pillow. Now, that.
TP
Okay, that would be a little weird. I love you.
Sidney
I love you too, Daddy.
TP
No way. Click, I'd be like, I really gotta get better friends. Oh, God.
Sidney
All right, down in the gym. We're getting back to this segment. Sorry we missed y' all for a week, but we got a message from AT KS Walters. Our girl said, hey, beauties. And I know that's right. And beasties. She said, I'm reaching out because I recently lost my job. And it's made me stop and really think, should I finally chase my lifelong dream of writing my novel or just hit the pavement and look for another job? I'm 58 years young. Financially, I'm stable for now, but I've carried this story in my head since I was about 15, and it feels like it's been waiting for its moment. The book is a dark psychological thriller. Think of the childhood game of Would you rather be deadly? So I don't want to give too much of her storyline away. Like, I think you've. You've read it.
TP
Yep.
Sidney
But she also said, I don't want to give too much away here, but it's intense, atmospheric, and rooted in trauma, survival, and revenge. The kind of story that's been living inside me for decades. I'd love your honest take. Should I lean into the novel now while I have a chance, or should I put it back on the shelf and focus on finding another job? So thank you for writing in. First of all, kill. I read this and I immediately wanted to see a film adaptation of this storyline.
TP
Yeah.
Sidney
And I'm sorry, you know, sorry about you losing your job. That sucks. But I will say sometimes, like, rejection can be a blessing. And if that job was occupying a lot of your time, and right now you do have the financial stability to chase something that you said. It's been in your heart. If I'm doing the math right, Kel, it's been in your heart for 43 years. So your heart is tired, your head is tired. Okay. And it's time for you to get to writing. In my opinion, this could be a sign that you got the free time.
TP
Now, I love a thriller. I love a mystery book. This is right up my alley. So, Kel, if you do, and I like, for me, I hope you do, this is something that, like Sid said, I could see this being a TV show. I could see this being rolled out in. In a similar sense that there's a lot of big time shows right now. The Hunger. I'm not the Hunger Games. What's the. Oh, my God. The one with the. Where they, like, kill people on the games. Squid Games.
Sidney
Oh, Squid Games.
TP
I said Hunger Games.
Sidney
Oh, that was close.
TP
Yeah, I feel like that's what my parents do sometimes.
Sidney
First one was. First word was completely wrong. Keep going.
TP
Anyway, so I could see this being like a Squid Games type of thing, but with a more realistic. Not that the Squid Games couldn't happen, but this seems like pretty realistic in a sense. And like Sid said, with, you know, doors closing comes opportunity for doors to open. And this could be your chance to finally get that pen on paper.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
And get this in writing. And if you do go through with this, I would love.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
A personal copy for myself. I'll. We'll. We can't wait to actually talk about this on the five. This comes to fruition.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
I really hope that we were able to talk about this then because this is a. A really cool thing. Thank you again. For writing in. And we're rooting for you. We really hope that you take that.
Sidney
Leap, get to writing so we can hopefully hear about it like soon. But I also love it because it's a revenge story. And a little about me. I love revenge. I love vigilante type movies. I love people getting what they deserve.
TP
Yeah, absolutely.
Sidney
They're just deserving.
TP
I love when you're rooting for a guy that's doing or a person that's doing wrong, but they're doing right, but they're going about it in a way that feels wrong.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
You. I love rooting for a character that doesn't feel like a. A typical character that you would be rooting for.
Sidney
Yeah, I I like movies I love with revenge is like Law Abiding Citizen.
TP
Yeah, that's a really good.
Sidney
Loved it. Loved it. I love with what's my Girl's name? Oh, well, I love Wait.
TP
Law Abiding Citizen is when he's in prison and he's Jamie Foxx and Julian Butler. Oh my God. Yeah.
Sidney
100% so. But also love enough. Her JLo's husband was abusing her.
TP
Yeah.
Sidney
That get back was wonderful to see.
TP
Wait, Double Jeopardy.
Sidney
Double Jeopardy is one of my favorites. I love Double Jeopardy. Like there aren't many better revenge movies than Double Jeopardy.
TP
Wait, what was the name of the one that you said with JLo?
Sidney
Enough.
TP
Enough.
Sidney
Where she starts learning how to box. That one was so good.
TP
The ending of that movie is insane. It gets me on the edge of my seat every single. And I know what's coming now. But when the balcony part happens.
Sidney
Yeah.
TP
Oh my God.
Sidney
So good.
TP
She's such a badass. She really is.
Sidney
But also, if you haven't seen the Brave One with Jody Foster.
TP
I haven't seen the Brave one.
Sidney
These people attack her and her husband in New York. Well, really, they attack her husband in like they're like walking in the park and he's brutally attacked, I think with like bats or pipes or something. He ends up dying her get back.
TP
Goodness gracious.
Sidney
So good. It's so good.
TP
So anyways, I love in Brighter News, Kicking and Screaming with Will Ferrell. That's a revenge movie he gets. He. His dad, Wolf Erroll is a father of a boy who plays soccer. His dad is the soccer coach of the best team in the league. The grandpa trades the grandson to a different team. Will Ferrell becomes a head coach. It's a revenge story, but it is hysterical. If you haven't seen it, go watch Kicking and Screaming.
Sidney
I do love that movie.
TP
Hilarious. Hilarious.
Sidney
When they say. When they say, what's your son? How do you spell your son's name? You said beyond son.
TP
Oh, so you guys are.
Sidney
Hey. So beyond song is shy. So here's a book, and it was called My Childish Shy, or, like, My Slush.
TP
When he gave everyone Finches, and he was like, the finches were a bad idea.
Sidney
I may have inadvertently poisoned.
TP
We're gonna watch that tonight.
Sidney
We have to.
TP
Okay.
Sidney
All right. Well, I mean, I think that's it for this.
TP
Wow. That's the whole pod.
Sidney
It was. That was beautiful.
TP
That was awesome.
Sidney
I'm glad we get in on you all knowing not to ever play with us, because we will get revenge, and.
TP
We have a lot of movies to fall back on for ideas. So don't try us.
Sidney
Don't try us. Shout out to UK for writing in.
TP
Yeah. And we won't be going the kicking and screaming route.
Sidney
No, no, no, no. Straight violence.
TP
Straight.
Sidney
But, hey, babysitters, we love you so much. You're safe with us. We appreciate you. We love y'. All. And don't forget, if you want us in your business, DM us at unsupervised. Sid. Tp. We love hearing from y'. All. We love talking to y'.
TP
All.
Sidney
We see all the comments on everything because we just love hearing what y' all have to say.
TP
Yeah. Which is why I had to keep my hair up this time, because I want to be heard from my words.
Sidney
Right? So I want to see if y' all comment on my hair the same way you commented on TP's. Here.
TP
Goodness.
Sidney
I gotta do a little.
TP
I need to know your curl routine, because, baby, they are popping.
Sidney
Thank you. I just braided it down. I didn't want to do anything with it.
TP
No, it looks great.
Sidney
All right, y'. All.
TP
And a simple reminder to throw kindness around like confetti.
Sidney
We love y'. All.
TP
See y' all next week.
TMP (rapper or intro artist)
Yeah. Yes. Yes. Okay. We say what we want and yeah, we say what we feel. Sitting tmp of the mix and they be keeping it real on brand, off topic, out of pocket. Anything you need, they got it why don't you shout? We know they gonna block them when it's game time and you know I'm gonna block them cover everything like who harder than us? And yeah, we looking down on haters. Cause they smaller than us and yeah, my flow is so damn sick I be coughing it up. You said that we go on flat. Well, then I'm calling your blood unsupervised.

Unsupervised. Unsupervised, Sam.
Unsupervised with Syd & TP
Episode: "Syd & Lil' Jon Have Beef?"
Date: September 11, 2025
Host: Dear Media
This episode of Unsupervised brings the trademark wild, winding banter of best friends and hoops stars Syd Colson and Theresa Plaisance (TP). They keep things off-the-cuff and downright hilarious, jumping from white culture snack confusion to football fan misbehavior, Lil' Jon "beef," and emotional stories about WNBA legends. Recurring themes of authenticity, community, and "bringing back shame" serve as a throughline as they zig-zag through pop culture, music nostalgia, and listener advice. If you love tangents, honesty, and the feeling of a late-night group chat, you’re in the right place.
