A
Oh, Yamantha. Oh, my God, girl, you're so cute. Oh, was she here, though?
B
No. Unfortunately, Yam struggles with anxiety, and it's raining today, so, you know, you just have to do what you do and bring your dog to work.
A
Oh. Cause you found her in the range. You found her in the rain.
B
I don't know what's triggered from, but it's my problem now.
A
But, I mean, it feels like it's triggered from that you found her in the rain alone.
B
Girly, you okay? You have anything that you want to say? The babysitters,
A
like, yeah, why did you bring me here?
B
Hey, Audio. She didn't say anything.
A
Like, I'm tired of people taking their animals everywhere. They don't need to be at the restaurant. They know you don't need to be in the grocery store unless you really, really need it. But some people are abusing it for sure.
B
No, you shouldn't bring a peacock into a buffet. It's not your emotional support animal. But, hey, that's white culture for you. So whenever people ask, like, hey, what's white culture? Bringing your animals places that they're probably not supposed to be white. Y', all, we got a great episode for you guys today. Let's go. The theme song.
C
Unsupervised.
A
Unsupervised. Unsupervised.
C
Yeah. Yes. Yes. Yeah, we say what we want and yeah, we say what we feel? Sitting TMP in the mix and they be keeping it real on brand, off topic, out of pocket. Anything you need, they got it. Why don't you shout when you know they going to block them? When it's game time and you know I'm going blocking that. We cover everything like go, who harder than us? And yeah, we looking down on haters. Cause they smaller than us and yeah, my flow is so damn sick, I be coughing it up. You said that we going flat. Well, then I'm calling your blood call.
A
All right, so TP said it, and she doesn't lie. Y' all know that about her. She's an honest woman. And this is going to be a fun episode, y'.
B
All.
A
We're going to make this strictly not dickly. Meaning this is a W episode.
B
It's a W episode.
A
We're going to do all W pretty much. We're calling it the W Wide Web. We're going to just go over, like, stuff that we saw online, especially because TP was busy this week. So y' all know she's got her. Her little hissy coming up next week. Me and Marty are Gonna go to New Orleans to pretend to take care of her. Care for her. Pretend to take care of her. But we're just gonna go party on Bourbon and she's gonna see my birthday next week.
B
I should probably remind you now.
A
Oh, yeah, yeah. On the 18th. Okay. I got you. I'll remember.
B
You're not.
A
But you also had. You had. You were visiting the old folks home. You went to see your papa, and TP don't want to talk about it. She's like, oh, no. It sounds like I'm like, bragging about going helping people. I'm like, girl, no, you're just saying, like, what your experience was. And she made them these really? She makes the people there like, these. What do you. What do you even call them?
B
They're like little stained glass windows. They're like little plastic stained glass windows. And I got them a little suction cup so they can have some room decor.
A
And they, like, hang on their windows. And she made some for us, too. And she, like, paints them or, like, colors them. It's really nice.
B
I made them for them and you guys claim some, so I had to buy another set for. So I could make every one for everybody else.
A
Tomato, tomato. You know what I mean? Either way. Either way, it's mine.
B
I like, squeeze that in there. Like, she was so thoughtful. She made some for us. Custom. No, they weren't for you at all.
A
Damn. Okay.
B
They were going to elderly people in a home.
A
All right, well, shout out to me for thinking of me, I guess. And thanks for the lion in the gay giraffe. But yeah, so I'mma fill you in. I bet you missed a lot, tp. But we're going to start. We're going to start. We're going to go back a little bit because I don't know if you saw at the W draft when there were some rookies that were asked, like, is. Is 30 old? And so what we're gonna do is we are going to. We're gonna look at the ones that said it was and whoever said it was. We're gonna document every game that they have. We'll clip everything where they get scored on or done dirty by somebody over 30, and then we'll try to figure out, why are you letting the old person do this to you? I think Flage was the only one who said. I think Flage and kiki rice were two. Were like two of the only ones that said 30 wasn't old. But how does it. How does that make you feel? Do you feel old?
B
No, but I will say this. You know, when we came into the league, we used to shoot our half court shots, like youngest to oldest. At first we got, we got it spicy a little bit. We started being creative as we, you know, spend some time in the league. I think it was just because the old people were sick of shooting last. But when I first came into the league, I was like, really young. I remember I turned, I think I turned 22. So I was 21.
A
Yeah.
B
And I turned 22 on our, our first preseason game where we got waxed by San Antonio. And no one knew it was my birthday because I didn't say anything. So nobody told me. Happy birthday. And we lost. And what I, what I remember from this time is like showing up to the team. And when I started watching women's basketball is when, like, Candace Parker was cool at Tennessee, like the Paris Twins at Oklahoma. Like, UConn was always really good. Like, it was a Tina Charles era. Like, basketball, women's basketball. I think collegiate women's basketball was at
A
like, it's like prime.
B
Yeah, yeah. Really great place. I'm like, this is what, this is what's cool, right? And I'm watching Courtney Paris, like, she's my hero. I get drafted to Tulsa. I show up to training camp. Courtney, like is coming down the line, like shaking all the rookie's hands, like, hey, what's your name? Nice to meet you. Hey, what's your name? Nice to meet you. I was like, hey, hey, Courtney Paris. I'm Teresa. Plays on. So nice to meet you. She was like, I think I know you. And I was like, oh, my God. All the rookies were looking at me like something cool happened to me.
A
Like, oh, Courtney knows you.
B
I'm like super flustered, but I was like, man, that old? She's like 28 now. Courtney Paris was in our prime. This was the first year of her back to back rebounding championship seasons. Like, she had the most rebounds both years back to back, starting with when I called her an old hag. And then following the next year, her best rebound seasons of her career. But yeah, no, I used to think 30 was really, really old. Now I'm in my 30s.
A
I thought the same. I thought the same.
B
Wait, so who did you make fun of? Young? Because I know you were given. I know you were giving your vets trouble.
A
Yeah, but I was just giving them trouble in like a normal, like in a regular way, just by being myself, not necessarily about their age, but I do remember thinking like, dang, man, they've been in this shit For a minute, you know, how are they paying rent? Damn. How are they affording to keep doing this?
B
But the way medical bills are, there's no. Hey, how are they maintaining this?
A
They're operating at a loss. But no, I mean, like, yeah, I don't think that I was. I don't think that I was. I don't think I was messing with any of the. The vets like that, because once again, I told you who my vets were. I ain't really feeling that. Kia Kara, rest in peace. Like, cappy essence. It was just. It was too many.
B
You had a squad, but, yeah, I'm like, y' all were like, the people that you were. Like, if you were coming to league and somebody was going to check you. Pretty much the Liberty. Yeah.
A
Yeah, for sure. And I was thinking, I was like, man, we got a nice squad, but I think we lost in the first round of the playoffs or something, but definitely should have gone farther with that team.
B
We had a very nice squad, and nice by. We only won eight games or nine games my rookie year. But we were so nice. Like, it was Jen Lacey and Ronika Hodges and Courtney Paris, and, like, Skyler like, just came off a season where, like, she was. She was. She got benched for some reason. Like, the coach was, like, tripping, and they benched Skyler Diggins and then.
A
Wait, who was Joe's coach at the time?
B
Well, Fred was brought in my rookie year. Me and Fred were both on the same on Tulsa, and Skyler was one year in, and I forgot who the coach was before, but they won, like, four games, so he had to go. So they brought us in. We doubled that in the first year. Talk about return on investment. See what happens when you bring TP and Fred Williams and we change things.
A
Oh, I love that for you.
B
RIP To Tulsa.
A
But my. This just made me think about, like, rookie season in my experience. All right, I'm gonna tie this in. Just be patient. Queen Latifah. Queen Latifah spoke at North Carolina A N T's graduation. And I was just, like, extremely jealous. I don't know if I told you, but when me and Marty did vision boards at the, like, for the new year, Queen Latifah is on my vision board because she just. She's just like. I mean, that's a queer icon. That's a. That's a. A queer icon, but especially, like, a black queer icon. And so I just love Queen Latifah. And so seeing that, I'm like, dang, Like, I wish Somebody like that would have spoke at, like, my graduation also.
B
You know who else go to your graduation?
A
Yeah, yeah, I'm gonna get to that. But you know who else was at the N.C. a. N.C. graduation? Junior Smith.
B
I only. I was about to say that's the only alumni that I know, so probably
A
because, remember, he went and played golf. Like, had he graduated though collegiate golf.
B
He had eligibility and he played collegiate golf.
A
So now he graduated at like 40 or like 41, something like that. But I was just like, damn. Like, is one for people to know, like, it's never too late to go back to school and get a degree if that's what you want to do. But also going back to. To like, play a sport is badass. And. And I think he was like, pretty good in golf. Like, I mean, obviously if he's on the team. But for you, what would you go back and play, though, if you were to go back to school and had eligibility other than basketball?
B
Realistically or unrealistically?
A
Either one. Okay.
B
Realistically, fine.
A
No, duo. Duo.
B
Okay. Unrealistically. I. I would want to play. I think I would want to play football. Like, I would want to know what it would feel like to be the quarterback.
A
Oh, you would have lost your uterus a long time ago had you done that.
B
I know.
A
Sorry. Too soon.
B
I haven't lost it yet.
A
Okay. I'll do it again in a week.
B
Okay. I would play volleyball, though, because in high school, I didn't play volleyball. I was asked to play volleyball and I was like, nah, I'm good. I don't want to wear those tights. And they were like, hey, if you play volleyball, you don't have to do basketball conditioning.
A
Oh.
B
I was like, wait, let me look at those tights one more time.
A
No, they're not that bad, honestly. Do you have them in a different color, though?
B
Like, I'm like, yeah. Do they write up my crotch? Yeah, no problem. But whatever.
A
No, I feel like you would have been very good at. Did you play in high school?
B
Yeah, I was all state in high school. Humbly.
A
I was recruited.
B
I was recruited to play college volleyball and I just did it.
A
Oh, what?
B
I know.
A
You're Laura girl.
B
I know. I just. I just really. I just really loved. I love swinging at the ball. It was like. It's really fun.
A
Yeah.
B
And they run a lot less than basketball. Like, so much less.
A
Oh, my gosh. That makes me think of you. Seen the. The gay dude that plays for. I forgot what.
B
What school. I love him so much.
A
So sassy. I enjoy watching him.
B
He's so sassy, and he's so dominant, and I. I love him. I hope he.
A
It's so funny because, you know. You know, the guys on the other are pissed because he's actually good. It looks like he's good. He, like, spikes here. He, like, flips his hair and walks away.
B
Yeah. But what would make me more mad is, like, if I couldn't get him back. Like, he's getting me all these times. There's nothing that I could do on the other side of the net that would remotely even, like, get to him. Like, I could be equally as sassy back, and he's just probably like, I'll
A
go flirt with his boyfriend or something. Oh, yeah. How about that?
B
Games?
A
Yeah, yeah. Game's over. But, like, I'm still playing, like, off court. I' ma get you. But okay, so back to Queen Latifah. Oh, I got back to my original point quickly. Okay, so Queen. I'm so proud of myself. Oh, my. I could cry, because you know how off track I get sometimes,
B
y'. All. For audio, she is trying to make herself cry, which I've witnessed. She can do.
A
Okay, I'm not gonna do it. I'm not gonna do it. But. So she was giving her speech, and her speech was really good, and I only heard it in pieces, but she. Her advice to the graduates was to, you know, be delusional. Go out and create a path that no one has created. Like, walk on a path that hasn't been done before. Do the thing that people tell you, you know, sounds crazy. If it's your dream, go follow it. It's not like, nothing that you've ever heard, but when it's coming from somebody that that was what their trajectory was, I think it makes it just much more powerful. But, yeah, my graduation, I walked the stage, and I literally walked out. I, like, took a picture with some of my coaches and teammates, and then I walked out to finish, go, like, loading up the truck to pack my apartment, and then head to Houston. Because I was, like, flying out the next day to go to camp. Mm. Yeah. So whenever. Whenever I look at, like, graduations, I'm like, damn. Yeah.
B
They were like, hey, yeah, you're allowed to go to your graduation, but keep in mind, we have a game that day. And I was like, yeah, but do you, like, foresee me playing in the game or, like, what does this, like, look like? They're like, you know, it's your choice.
A
Yeah. I was, like, very cryptic, like, am I gonna play or not do you need me or can I go graduate?
B
Yeah. So I didn't play and I also didn't walk.
A
You made the wrong. Or maybe you made the right.
B
I still never. I don't know if I have my diploma. Like, I really don't. I earned it, bro.
A
I have mine and then I open up the thing and there's nothing in it. I was like, damn, did I not pay for something?
B
You didn't pay for your parking tickets, probably.
A
Oh, maybe so. But I'm like, I know I graduated. I'm cool.
B
You earned it for sure. You did your plagiarism. You moved past that.
A
Well,
B
Like a walk in the park. No problem. Anyways, anyway, shout out to all the graduates that earned it. Oh, yeah, Diploma or not,
A
shout out to y'. All. Okay, so there were some. Some rookies who had some good games this week. I don't know if you saw Olivia Miles's tempo, court, vision, all of that. She's. She's going to be nuts. She's going to be a problem.
B
She is.
A
She's going to be a problem. I was just watching some of the highlights.
B
Olivia Miles in college, though, like, seeing her these last few seasons. And also you saw Olivia Miles in college go from a dominant program at Notre Dame and then transfer out of Notre Dame, which for other high profile players, a transfer when you already have established who you are, what you bring to the table, and have drafts that draft stock in your favor. A transfer portal is a little scary. Like, we've seen it not work out for a few people when Olivia went to tcu and for her to be able to bring the same thing that she was bringing at Notre Dame to tcu, I thought that her immediately coming into the league to be able to make an impact was going to be there. On top of the fact that I don't think people talk about this enough, but S.H. reeves always drafts really well. There's always a steal in the draft that Minnesota will have a late first round pick and they'll end up having, like, such an impactful player within that pick that they just do this consistently. And I just, I really want to applaud the way that they draft, especially for their system on top of the fact that they can just draft. But, yeah, this isn't. This isn't shocking to me. It was really awesome to see her.
A
Yeah. Yeah, you could see. You could definitely see the skill set in college and see how that would translate because she had the vision. It's flashy, but, like, also, you know, when you have the confidence to even do some stuff just like okay for you to even try that in a game. Like all right, you, you got some about you.
B
But also guards, guards come around a little bit quicker professionally than post players. Like yeah, for sure. I feel like post take like maybe a year or two more to really develop into like dominance. When guards can transfer their, their college game to their pro game a little bit quicker, a little bit easier than I feel like pose do. So for her to come out and make an impact the way that she has, I don't remember, you know, a rookie coming out making like that kind of splash.
A
Yeah, they're definitely being rookies. Good rookies. This is a good rookie class though. Flage had a good game. Had some good games too. Just like very, very confident once again. Like the rookies just, they just look confident. I think they have the past like few years. But this group, for sure I feel like they're going to be fun to watch. She like scored a layup on over BG or something and did like too small. Which I love when people do too small for somebody that is way bigger than them.
B
Would never be too small for anything.
A
Yeah. But here's also your reminder. Go watch our episode with FL on the sitting CP show because so we're
B
going to have to talk about that.
A
Yeah, for sure we will. And we're going to have to do. We're going to have to do another one. Flauge is going to have to find time in her. In her busy schedule. I don't care what she needs to do. Flauge, we don't care what you need to do when we need it for season two. Make yourself available.
B
Thank you. Please and thank you.
A
Yeah. So. Oh, did you see? She was at the free throw line. And Anissa, we love Anissa by the way. Anissa's hilarious. Anissa is gonna talk.
B
Abnesa.
A
Ab. Nisa. Right. TP. TP. Coin that.
B
Don't forget our mentoring. That was our mentoring 100.
A
But she's hilarious. Hey you. I mean even last year she talked non stop in the game.
B
Like she doesn't stop talking.
A
It doesn't matter if her team is down 20 even like and it might just be a layup but she's still gonna like flex or say something is probably one of the more entertaining parts of the game to me when she does that. But she was checking in in her and Flage like high five without really looking at each other just in passing. And so what I want to say to you just like we're going to keep an eye on those rookies who called us old. We need to watch them for potential point shaving, for any kind of suspicious activity. Because y' all aren't friends. It don't need to be no high five. It all of that's over. That Baylor y' all had or whatever, that's lsu.
B
What the hell? Don't disrespect us.
A
My bad. LSU is done. It's a wrap. You're on different teams now. You're in the pros. Shouldn't be no high fiving. That's the thing there. There are no friends in basketball. Huh?
B
They went to lsu. Their sisters.
A
Whose sisters?
B
We're all sisters in purple and gold, girl. And I think that the high five is there. If you want to look for point shaving, you can do it. Waste your time. Waste your time doing it.
A
Yeah, I'm gonna look for it. I'm investigating everything. I'm investigating everything.
B
Investigating, huh? What else?
A
Oh, you know what I'm investigating. Rekia. Rekia Jackson. Some very questionable posts. Very questionable posts in the past. Once again, not sure if you saw, but Ricky made a post really normal on TikTok. I don't know if it was also on. On Instagram, but it was just like a media day rap. Just photos. She's like, I'm rekiya. Got my bus down. Oh, here's my Chicago jersey. Oh, also bling bling around my neck. Oh, my wrist too. And then, you know, look down. The caption is gay. The caption just says gay gay with
B
like, like video game robot thing.
A
Yeah, the little. The little emoji. So it says in. In the comments. Because, you know, on TikTok you can't. On TikTok you can't change the caption once you've posted the video. So she goes and makes a comment, doing a screenshot of what the original said. And it says ga. She said it says G A I G. Not gay. What is going.
B
Yeah, that's what we want to know, girl.
A
What is going on, honey? Because it's totally okay if you are. We're not saying that you are automated captions are saying that you are. But if you want to come on unsupervised, this is a safe space. Anybody can come talk about anything. You know, we love you, girl. We're rooting for you whether you're straight or gay. But I do want to follow up with. You had another sus post that makes this one feel like your response doesn't make sense. So she Also said audio. I'm gonna let y' all hear. But just know that she's in her. In her car, like, mouthing these words out here saying that I'm gay. Do I see that? The type of woman that a lamp with another woman. Touch all of her. Beat her over there. Beat me over her. Heads up. No. So for me, if I'm on the
B
jury,
A
gay, it's like two. Two times. It's not a coincidence. So I don't. Yeah, go.
B
But let's play. Let's play devil's advocate here.
A
The devil don't need no advocate.
B
I'm just gonna say. Let's say hypothetically it was an accident. Okay.
A
All right.
B
Imagine the panic that she's feeling. She posted this thing. Rumors are flying. She posted, like, cocking women's legs up. Imma her legs up. They're gonna. My legs up. Then she moved past it. Maybe she thought it was a little joke.
A
Yeah.
B
So the next day, she was like, I'm just gonna post something completely separate gay. Maybe you're not the panic that's probably going through your head because now you're double gay.
A
Yeah.
B
Openly gay in your last post. Now you were accidentally gay with autocorrect or whatever happened here.
A
So I texted her. I said
B
not to text her.
A
Yeah, well, I messed. I messaged her on. On Tick tock first, like, in response.
B
Public comment. Your public comment. Funny.
A
Say that again.
B
Your public comment.
A
Yeah, yeah, I think I just put, like, the looking. The, like, magnifying glass over the eye, like. Yeah, but I. I messaged her. I said, hey, do you want to give me a quote? And I sent her the picture of me. Her media day stuff. I said, hey, do you want to give me a quote for the pod before I speak on this? She said, bro, tell them how I can't wait for you to get dung to one. I said, I'm not even in the league right now. I'm. I'm home nursing my acl.
B
You want me to get. That's a. That's. That's tough because. Wow, sis hurt, right?
A
And she said. She said, oh, wait, no, my bad. She said in the. And the caption clearly says G. Good as it gets. So I'm also, like, these Gay as it gets.
B
She should have put periods in between. Did she have periods?
A
None. You know, these young kids, they just. They just speaking acronyms and stuff. Lol Blows me. But she also said to tell y' all that sugar goes on Mac and cheese, and I definitely don't agree with that. I didn't even know that was.
B
Yeah, you're gonna have to come on the pot and just clear that up. Regardless. If you clear up anything else, you have to at least please clear up why you're putting sugar on Mac and cheese.
A
Dead ass. All right, so another investigation being open, if that's cool with you,
B
I'm here for it.
A
Yeah. So you know somebody else we mess with on the pod, a lot talked about. Well, that was when she was in a different relationship back then,
B
so.
A
Dijonay. Hey, Dijonay, girl, Dijonay tweeted. Shoot. Is this today? This morning. 10:24. Get off your burners and stop speaking on, you know none about and making a fan fiction before I air everybody out, so. Oh, riveting. I loved. I love W drama.
B
So wait.
A
Oh, yeah, please.
B
Who needs to get off their burners?
A
That's the investigation. We're. We're gonna find out. Oh, I haven't reached out to her. I didn't have time to reach out to her for a quote.
B
I didn't know if there was. Yeah, this did happen. There was a tight turnaround before we filmed this.
A
Very tight turnaround. But it feels like. It feels like it might be players on burners. It could be players on burners. It could be fans. But a lot of fans, they just openly speak about things. They just say it. You're watching their face on the video talking about it or their face attached to their Twitter or threads, and they're typing it out. Inside knowledge. She may know that somebody with inside knowledge is spreading some information. So she's saying, stop speaking on. You don't know nothing about and making a fan fiction. Okay, so now we're back. Oh, wait, wait, wait. Fan fiction and making a fan fiction. So is she talking about a fan,
B
the fans, or is she making up fiction for the fans to run with it?
A
Hello. Somebody's making up fan fiction. Because how would she air stuff out? She thinks that it's an inside job. I just solved that. We just solved the case. That was so easy. But you know what?
B
I.
A
What? I watch so many detective shows that it's like you just got to be. You have to be patient. You got to be patient. You got to follow the clues, follow the leads, follow everything. Don't fall for the red herring at the beginning of the episode that it looks like they're the person who did it. But no, no, no. That's to tr. Keep watching. It's usually somebody else that you don't suspect. So I'm passionate about this.
B
No, I could tell.
A
Thank you.
B
I can tell that your investigative juices are flowing. Honestly, I want to know. I want to know what this. With this last. I don't know if you want to call it a threat or what this last piece of information here in this tweet is. I want to focus on quote before I air everybody out. Okay? I'd like to see everybody get aired out like I want everyone stop drop your burners and let's just air it out. I think we all need to know what's going on here. And until. And, and until that that can happen, Unsupervised is going to be on investigative duty. Sid will be messaging.
A
Yeah, I'm gonna hit it for a quote like, sorry, DJ Nate, we just had it, girl. Like just in the moment. So if there is something that you want to say, you know how to reach us on some more onto more players unhappy with fans. I don't know if you want to read this next one.
B
Yeah, of course, Sid. So this next tweet I couldn't agree with more. This is coming from Natisha Heideman, one of the. One of the buds of student. She said. All right, I'm just say it. WBA fans are the worst, y'. All. The things y' all say about players is insane. But shout out to the normal fans. So there's a lot to debunk here and I. One of my biggest pet peeves in the world is actually what she's touching on. I think we talked about this on the pod before, but like fans that are booers. If you're a fan, let's like. Actually I'm about to google.
A
I think she's probably referring to like the new ones or casuals or people who are just paying attention now because it's more popular. But the people who are like she said, like the normal fans aren't doing this stuff. But this is also what players have to realize comes along with more visibility. You get to the point of making the money you're making and having the visibility when you're bringing in people who don't actually like the thing that is happening. Maybe you know, like they're coming to be trolls or they're coming to talk like whatever the reason is, they weren't just watching for the players or for the basketball, but eyes are on you to talk about you or to make or to wait for you to mess up. Like with all the money that these players are going to be making now, people are going to be waiting for them to be in Situations, they gonna bait you like the same way they do NBA players, other athletes or celebrities.
B
Athletes and celebrities, like other leagues. And also other leagues, like siblings or like just members of, like, their close circle that are also being outed just because they're associated with people.
A
Yeah, yeah. Like you're gonna.
B
But, Sid, I just googled the definition of a sports fan, and this is what I don't like. Because we talk about WNBA fans, wba, Twitter, like, it feels very unhealthy. Some of the things that are being circulated, some of the things being said are extremely negative and honestly scary. Anybody tweeting these things, he. What's the. What's the Bible verse? He who has not sinned cast the first stone. You shouldn't be commenting on anything that you cannot do yourself. And even with that, there's a nice way to go about it. There's a more pleasant way to go about things. With that being said, a sports fan is defined as. Is as an enthusiastic devotee, supporter or admirer of a particular sport, team or athlete, often experiencing intense emotional attachment to the outcomes of games. So that's not meant to be negative.
A
Well, even though you don't need one. Devil's advocate. Read that last part. Read the last few words about the emotion.
B
Experiencing a tense, intense emotional attachment to the outcome of games.
A
So that intense emotional attachment, if things are not going your way, that could lead to something negative. That could go from me being passionate in a positive way. To me, I don't know, something could change chemically up here. Something else in my outside life, spark something. And now my mind is kind of twisted and shifted. And now I'm like, I'm not so interested in talking about it positively. I'm gonna stir some up. That could happen.
B
I also think that there's place for critique. Like, you can't. I can't follow the Saints. They win five games and I'm like, wow, what a great year. I can't wait to see what we do next year. Like, that's not my. But I'm also not going to sit there and add funk to what already feeling and smelling and looking funky. I'm like, if I'm a fan of the team, I want this team to turn around. If I'm a fan of a player, I want to see this person do well. But I think we need to start rewording what a fan is because, yeah, I think the word troll needs to be used a lot more often. I think, like, shit, stir needs to be used more often because there's people Just out here stirring the pot without any like real things to say.
A
Yeah, regular critique. They said regular critique is good.
B
Regular critique is good. But like when you stir the pot, it's, it's, it's just kind of toxic. And I just think that people need to like be a little bit more fan based fan instead of just looking for everything wrong with the world and their team and their players. Nobody's perfect.
A
Yeah, nobody's perfect. Well, they said f that I'm paying my money. I'll talk about it. I want to talk about it.
B
Hey, we're seasoned ticket holders. Tighten up.
A
But truly, oh babysitters. Important News Together now has another account for you to follow that's dedicated solely to women's basketball. So make sure that you follow Ballin Together.
B
That's Ballin Together with an X. It's quite simple. Either look in the description of our show notes down below or quite simply go to the search bar and type in Ballin Together. Bam. And just like that, you'll just be up to date with all the latest and greatest women's basketball news.
A
You're welcome. Haley Van L. We talked about that last week. She got waved. She got picked up by Connecticut. Kate Martin. Shout out Kate. That's my girl.
B
You love Kate.
A
Kate got waved by Golden State and she was kind of emotional talking about it, but she was like, you know, it's a business and it very much is. And Kate in Vegas, like when me Kia Leash would be around, Kate is just like, she very much was a sponge. She wanted to soak up information like know what the league was like, like how to be a pro. So you know, we put her on game to a lot of stuff. Like she already had a good work ethic and all of that. So she'll be fine. And I think she does understand that it's just a business. Like it's not, it's not personal even when stuff feels personal. But she got another opportunity. She got picked up by LA on their, I think like for a developmental spot and they play, they play Golden State on June 15 for the commissioners Cup. So we definitely got to watch that game. Hopefully Kate gets in because we got to see. And when Connecticut plays Chicago, I don't know if they have already, but we got to see that cuz we need to see the white women revenge tours. And this leads me to. What is your favorite white woman revenge movie? Take a second. I have actually I got, I got several.
B
I know that you have several and we talked about this movie in, in the years past Being, like, just generally being one of our favorites.
A
Yeah.
B
So I'm gonna let you have that one.
A
No, no, no. Say whichever one you want to say. I have a lot to choose from. It's no problem.
B
Okay, well, this is my thought process. Double Jeopardy's up there, obviously.
A
Yeah, I'd say.
B
I mean, the movie is revenge. It's called Double Jeopardy, for Christ's sake.
A
Like, come on. Yeah.
B
And then I was like, oh, what's some other really great movies that incorporate revenge? And I was like, enough. But it's JLo. She's not white. I had to scrap that one.
A
Close enough.
B
All right, squeeze her back in. And then I was like, okay, Legally Blonde. Elle woods got her revenge because she got her. Her fiance. Her ex fiance's spot.
A
Yeah.
B
And then I, like, thought further. I was like, you know what?
A
He was such a dick.
B
Princess Diaries is my favorite revenge movie. And hear me out here.
A
Yeah, I'm listening.
B
We're. We're following little Mia Thermopolis, regular little high school student. She's getting bullied every day. She has frizzy hair. The boys don't like her. Hannah Banana and Montana, whatever their names are, were bullies, and they were fucking bitches to her. And then Mia Thermopolis all just finds out one day that she's a secret princess. And her grandma, who's Julie Andrews, who looks like my grandma, shows up, blesses her with some princess shit, and all of a sudden the Hannah Banana Montanas are out of there and she's that girl. So at the end of the day, Mia Thermopolis had a great revenge story. Great revenge. And then there was multiple sequels. Come on. Come on. In Hathaway.
A
Mm.
B
Anyway, so Princess Diaries.
A
Oh, I like that. I like how you picked one that was. Was unexpected. Yeah, I'm going to go with.
B
We know you're going to go with something super dark and murderous. So 100%. 100%.
A
100% Jodie Foster in the Brave One. An excellent movie. Okay, so she's a New York City radio host. Her fiance is beaten to death in the park. She's there. The guys, like, record it. She buys a gun. She under. She, like, undergoes, like, transformation. Obviously, like, that's gonna change anybody. She becomes a vigilante, but she also.
B
She doesn't transition. Transition? Hey, it's an open space show. You have to be more clear when you say transition on here.
A
Imagine that just being part of the plot. Like, let's rewrite those.
B
Made in, like, 99. Like, they weren't like, nobody Was really transitioning back. Only the brave. Really? Only the brave. Like, you still have to be brave today in 2026. But imagine, like, the early. The early trans people. Scary stuff.
A
The brave one in the new picture is just, like, Jodie Foster raising her shirt. She's got, like, her scar from her top surgery and a gun.
B
We're like, whoa, what a sequel. You're done this episode with the pod. Heard about Anne Hathaway sequel. We need to bring Jody back first for round two. And by Jody, we mean Joseph.
A
You're so funny to me. Anyways, that's one of my. That's one of my favorites. Double Jeopardy was absolutely my. My first pick.
B
So good.
A
I have so many.
B
Watch Double Jeopardy. If you haven't watch.
A
If you haven't slap yourself first and then bang your head against the fridge and then the tv. And then cut it on and watch. That's so embarrassing if you haven't seen it already.
B
Yeah. But for young kids, though, for young kids, like, don't be intimidated that the movie was made in the 90s. It is so good. This is actually when there was no special effects like that and you actually had to be a good actor.
A
Yeah. More w. Okay. Did you see Ellie the elephant, who I do have pressure with usually. Ever since Ellie put me on.
B
I don't get. I get why. Okay. I get the.
A
Yeah. I mean, obviously, because we were the aces.
B
Like New York or something. Like, you need to move on.
A
Once Ellie put me in the schedule release and was talking. It's forever up with Ellie. But what. What I can do is show love. Because the. The Whitney Houston tribute that Ellie and the dancers, everybody did. Hilarious. And also Ellie was wearing the wig that Whitney had on. And like, the. It's not right, but it's okay video. Like, you know the one Friday night you and your boys went out to eat? You know that one that she's, like,
B
flopping around like this.
A
Yeah. Then they hung out. But you came home around three. If six of y' all went out. And, boy, you were really cheap. Cause why? Cause only two of you had dinner. I found a credit card receipt. It's not right. So this is the picture of Whitney.
B
Okay, let me see. Oh, yeah.
A
And Ellie looked hilarious, but also, it was just well done. It was. They. They did so many songs. Yeah. I don't know if Ellie is a he, she or they. So they did so many songs.
B
But Ellie is a. Ellie's a she. The actual elephant herself. Ellie is a she. So I think we could just say she oh, were you talking about the person?
A
No. Did Ellie say that?
B
No. Ellie. Yeah, Ellie did say that. Ellie. They were like, Ellie's like a female mascot.
A
Like, who said that? And we were like, did Ellie say that, though?
B
I don't. Ellie doesn't talk. She's a mascot. But I think the people that represent Ellie have said that Ellie talks.
A
Ellie just saying. Whitney Houston, several songs.
B
I would disagree.
A
Okay, well, Ellie write in. Are you. She, he or they?
B
Because we're not gonna say anything.
A
We are gonna say something.
B
Oh, fine. Then why would Ellie write in?
A
We need to know. But anyways, excellent tribute.
B
Ellie fan, though. They all. Ellie always does.
A
Yeah.
B
Everything. Every single walk in video of Ellie. Her. Her outfit is top tier.
A
Ellie is New York culture. Like, Ellie's New York liberty.
B
The braid, the dancing. Yeah, the. Every single outfit. Also, like, whenever she, like, does a rendition of somebody.
A
Yeah, yeah.
B
That outfit on Ellie's body is t. Like, she just got it going on.
A
Ellie can dance.
B
Yeah. Ellie's, like, going to, like, social events. Like, Ellie's gonna be at the Met gala next year for sure.
A
Did you see. Did you see Seattle vs. Golden State? I think it was the first day of games. I think it was, like, the open end. Open.
B
I saw the second half.
A
Okay. So Jay Melbourne got her tooth chipped. You saw when she just, like, handed it back to the coach.
B
Yeah.
A
Or whoever. And went back in.
B
No. Jade's such a tough kid.
A
If my chip. If my tooth gets chips, take me out the game. I don't love it that much. Take me directly to the dentist. Emergency room. Who. Whoever. Get my put back on tonight. I'm not finishing again.
B
Tooth before. Or a different tooth.
A
Yeah. I think she got a chip, but she also had a mouth guard on. I'm just like, dang. Because Veronica fell on her head. That's not funny. But I don't. For some reason, it made me like.
B
No, it does hurt. I've had a similar head falling experience. I didn't lose a tooth. I would look like a unicorn picture. I'm gonna put right here.
A
Yeah. Because I also. I banged my head into the floor. It was me and Bria Hartley going for a ball. Hit my head. Like, I poked the ball out to get a steal, ran to go get it. We're both chasing after it. I dove. This is when we were playing at the. The, like, community center in New York.
B
Yeah. In Westchester.
A
I mean, Westchester or whatever. Bang. My. On the floor. My eye. My eye was cut open. Or like, my, like, right underneath my eyebrow was Cut open. I was concussed for, like, a week. But the commentator's voice on the video, like, I'm gonna. I'm gonna send it to our team so they can include it. The commentary had me weak, though. But be careful, ladies. This W season, protect your teeth. But, yeah, would you stay in. Would you stay in the game?
B
I will say that whenever it happened to me and I didn't get my tooth knocked out, but, yeah, no, bring me to the dentist. That's permanent. Like, yeah, I can't have that like that for the rest of my life. I don't know if you could see this picture, Sid.
A
No, I've seen it before.
B
You can't really tell, but I do have an Easter egg on my forehead. Y' all gotta know, difficult to go to dinner. I went to Papa Doe's later that night.
A
Hey.
B
When I was ordering, the waiter was just, like, asking my forehead what I wanted to eat. Very frustrating. He was like, wait, what did you say? I was like, just a wire with lemon for both of us. No, but Jade's a tough kid. Jade's one of the toughest kids I feel like I've ever experienced. I only know that because Jade fractured my eye socket solely with her elbow.
A
Oh, let's tag her in this. Not cool, Jade.
B
Totally not cool, Jade. Also sweetest kid in the world. Love Jade so much. Yeah, but, yeah, definitely. Almost had me go blind with that sharp little elbow of yours. And I really thought, like, I went down. I was in so much pain. I just thought, like, I must, like, murdered the person next to me. Come to find out, it was Jade. So I don't know if she got hurt at all, but she didn't act like it. And I was. I couldn't open my eye for, like, three weeks. So that's Jade.
A
The commentator was, like, interviewing her during. Or the reporter was interviewing her during the game. During the game, during one of the timeouts. And she says something like, how'd y', all, like, chip away at the lead? I'm like, if I was a commentator, I definitely would have, like, kept using, like, oh, yeah, like, you. How did you all chip away, you know, at the lead? Or, like, how you crack their game plan? Like, I would have just kept making, like, teeth jokes.
B
You would rather get a roof canal than lose this game, huh? Just start making dental jokes. Opportunity.
A
She seems like she's fine with it, though, because she definitely just handed the part of the tooth over and kept it. Kept it pushing. So that was hilarious. But you didn't. Oh, I meant to ask you too. If somebody made you chip your tooth for the first time in a game, is it. Is it forever beef with that person? Because me personally, if you make me lose my tooth, I'm taking this off the court. We have forever issues.
B
I will say that one time we were playing New York, and I cut off the baseline on Michaela Onion way day, and she swung her elbow, hit me in the face. My.
A
Not cool, man.
B
My tooth on the side of my mouth, like, went over here. Just flew out of my mouth. They called a foul on me. I was like, no way. I got benched and I lost the tooth. They. I didn't even need to say, like, hey, I can go back in. Like, I just didn't go back in.
A
Did y' all lose?
B
We lost. Oh, we lost.
A
Was this in Vegas?
B
No, this was. We were playing in New York for D.C. we. New York at New York. We had to win this game. This is actually a crazy story. I'm gonna start from the beginning, please. We had to win this game to make playoffs. It was either us or New York, and we both had, like, the same record. And whoever won this game went to playoffs. And we're at the Brooklyn Bridge Hotel, like, up the road from the gym, which in theory is like a 30 minute walk at the most. It's not that far, but it's New York and it was raining. So we left the hotel, like four hours, three hours early for, like, plenty of time to get up the street to the game. It starts raining. Everybody's just in the bus. Like, I think we're all this, like, just getting, like, locked in or like, listening to our music or just like, we were so just in our own space and in our moment that we just didn't realize, like, how much time is going by. One of the coaches from the front of the bus was like, hey, like, some of you guys already missed your warm up times. And we were like, what? And they were like, yeah, so if y' all want to make your shoot around time earlier, warm up time, you have to, like, get off the bus and go the game now. And we were like, well, how much longer is it if we wait in the bus? And they're like, it's probably gonna be another 45 minutes in the bus. And they were. They were like, but it's. But it's raining outside. And they were like, yeah, do y' all want to go to the game or not? So we all get out the bus with all of our game bags, our. Our loops, everything. We Run probably like two or three blocks from where the bus was to the gym.
A
What year is this?
B
This is 2021.
A
Okay.
B
They let us in the side door, which they didn't want to let us in the side door, but we all had on matching outfits, so they were like, yeah, maybe they're not the my. Seems like it could be the mystics. We're running. We don't come in through the right entrance, so we're coming down, like, the side, like, where the. Where the fans sit, like the sides of the seats. And we're just coming in funneling like that. We see the liberty warming up on both sides of the court. We're like, hey, y' all have to move. Get off.
A
Move.
B
We end up losing. I lost a tooth. I didn't have a warm up time that day. Mine got rained out. And also the team, like, our coaches got fired because we needed to win that game to go to playoffs, and it just didn't happen.
A
Damn. It was a devastating blow. Multiple fronts. I'm so sorry to hear that.
B
Yeah.
A
But, hey, you're here now.
B
I also got mistaken to be a Jewish man on the way over. I was at a red light. He was like, hey, you're Jewish. Like, I don't think so, like, at all. Like, I was baptized early in life. I just Catholic T.P.
A
you're a freaking riot, girl. I love your stories. Always.
B
No, you are. I'm in love with you.
A
This. Goes down in the dm. It go down. It go down. Okay, so we got a DM from Alex, a first time DMer. Thank you so much, Alex. All right. First time DM or getting ready to graduate with my master's in sports administration. And I've been reflecting on this a bit, so I wanted to ask you all about it. Can you think of a favorite class or teacher that really had an impact on who you are today? P. S. Love you both and would totally be here for an unsupervised summer camp meetup. Oh, so sweet.
B
Love that, Alex. We'll let you know.
A
We will let you know. I do believe teacher appreciation week just happened. And I got family members and friends that I need to get a gift for, actually, because teachers are so important, their job is not respected enough. And I'm talking about the ones who actually care about what they're doing and they're putting their best foot forward for the kids. Like, I know a lot of my friends and family members, you know, end up paying for so much stuff out of pocket because you're trying to make the experience the best that it can be for the kids. And the funding is not always there, especially in. In HISD in Houston. Like, a lot of things have changed with Abbott's ass reforming the public school system. But I had so many teachers that I love. Like, I just feel like there was a different breed of teachers when we were coming up too. I think teachers were, you know, a lot older. They have been doing it for a really long time. It was. Yeah, it was really their. Their passion. And also it was a different time too. Parents were much more involved, I would say kids were much more respectful. You didn't have to deal with technology in the classrooms like you did today, like, as distractions for kids. And I won't even put all that on the kids. Like, it's tough to grow up with technology and not be distracted like we set them up. But my favorite teachers probably. I mean, I remember all my teachers from. From elementary school, and I don't even know who I would say had the most, most impact, but I remember I had. She wasn't. She wasn't my teacher, but she taught my brother. And I will always look at her as just like the model of, like, professionalism. There were several of them, but she wasn't. She was like an older black woman, probably in her 40s at the something, maybe her late 30s. Like, maybe 40s. And Ms. Rice was just. She was just like elegant. She was always well dressed, put together. She was like soft spoken. I was just like, oh, my gosh. She just seems like, this is a woman and I'm gonna dress absolutely not like that. I'm gonna go dress like a man.
B
But her going to her for fashion.
A
Let me see my. My elementary school teachers. I have Ms. Stevens in kindergarten. I have Ms. Valdez in first grade. I have Ms. Phillips in second grade. I. Ms. Campbell in third grade. I had Ms. Rodriguez and Ms. Eldredi Francis in fourth. And then I had Ms. McGuire in fifth and Ms. Kenron.
B
That's impressive.
A
Shout out to them.
B
I also shout out to all the teachers.
A
Yeah.
B
Because I love teachers. They were the only people nice to me at school for a while. Yeah. But there was a teacher in fourth grade. He was. His name was Mr. Edinburgh. And Mr. Edinburgh was so nice to me. He was this older guy. He was so kind. And he was the first teacher to acknowledge the fact that I had, like, athletic ability that wasn't like a PE teacher. Like, he saw me and whenever, Whenever, like, he would just try to get my attention or when, whenever we would lining up like, you know, it was like, a big deal to be like, all right, we're lining up after Teresa. And, like, everybody lines up, you know? He'd be like, all right, line up after the Olympic star. He was, like, calling me that in, like, fourth grade. And he was like, I know you're gonna be in the Olympics. I know you're gonna do all these things. He was like, breathe it into me in fourth grade. Like, what a guy.
A
Yeah.
B
And then, you know, I had all really great teachers.
A
Wait, were you in the Olympics?
B
No, but. So he lied on your national team.
A
So he lied. Imagine taking that outlook.
B
The W wasn't in the same space that it was when I came through, so he didn't know to say, hey, you're gonna be a WNBA star. Base of the league, actually. Yeah, right.
A
Oh, my gosh. He knew. That's really. I love teachers like that, though.
B
No, he was so good. No thanks to Ms. Nelson, though. In second grade, Ms. Nelson was such a batch.
A
What'd she do?
B
She sent me to the principal's office one time because I just asked what the date was.
A
That's messed up. She should have had it on the board anyways.
B
I'm like, yeah, do your job.
A
It's supposed to be written on the board, top right hand, or wherever she wants to write it. But Ms. Nelson should have had that up there.
B
No, Ms. Nelson didn't actually like her job. Ms. Nelson, like, was just there because it seemed like she had to be there, but she had other things going
A
on, and you could feel that.
B
In second grade, you don't, like, see your teacher as, like, having a home life as a person, but she was unhappy. Ms. Nelson was unhappy in her life, and she took it out on a bunch of second graders that were girls.
A
I can't stand her.
B
I know Ms. Nelson. I was the closest girl you could get to a boy, and you didn't even like me, so you're a jerk. Anyway, it's not about you, Ms. Nelson. This is about Kyrie Walker. Kyrie Walker. He was a professor for me at lsu. I took a few of his classes. One of my favorite being, like, there was, like, the sports discussion class. And it was as intense as you would make it out to be. But Kyrie has such. Such a great personality. He was kind of the meteor in the class. And there would always be, like, hot topics like, do women belong in sport? And it was like this. It's LSU. So, like, we had, like, 200 people in this class, 300 people in this class, and there Was a lot of people. It's lsu. Like, as you can imagine, they're like, no, women don't belong in sport. They belong in the kitchen.
A
They do.
B
And I. And Kyrie, also. Good thing I showed up. And I didn't, like, just skip class, because Kyrie would be like, hey, Teresa plays us. Teresa, do you have anything that you want to say? And I just be in the back of the class. I'm like, hey, thank you, Kyrie. Hey, sir, you want to play me one on one later in the front? Come on. We got a spot on the practice team for you if you want to play with teammates.
A
Right.
B
But he would always. Whenever it was a topic that ended up being about, like, women or, like, some kind of, like, sports take on things, like, yeah, I wouldn't even have to raise my hand, and he would be calling on me. And it also, like, I wasn't very outspoken at the time. Like, I would just kind of use my comedy within class to, like, make people feel as stupid as they were sounding.
A
Yeah.
B
And Kyrie gave me that platform. I also, like, grew a lot in my skin at that point in my life in college where, like, I was finding my voice and I had passion for women's sports, but I didn't know why. And this guy, of all people, a man bringing it out of me, allowing me to voice my passion for, you know, how I felt like the world should be viewed. And I grew a lot in Kyrie's classes. And I. He like you, I think. What'd you say? Sports, something. Sports of men. Yeah, he was in a sports. I've been major. He did a lot of sports admin classes, too. So, like, really awesome guy. But shout to all the teachers out there.
A
Yeah.
B
I think there's been a teacher in all of our lives that had us look at the world a little bit differently and give us some perspective in one way or another. So shout out to you guys and
A
tell us about your favorite teachers. Yes. Give us, like, put your favorite teacher in the.
B
In the comments or your least favorite teacher. Who is your Ms. Nelson.
A
Spice it up. Spice it up.
B
Yeah.
A
All right, tp, this was fine, girl. Love talking W with you. Rekia Dijonay. Yeah, reach out with anything extra that you want to say or comment on that we commented on. Because, like, TP said what? We're not gonna comment. We're not gonna spread any rumors. We're not gonna say it first, but
B
we will say it's second and third. But you can also clear your name.
A
We welcome you on the podcast 100 fun episode. We love y' all babysitters. You know what to do if you got any drama that you want us in. You want some advice? You want to give us some advice? A
Unsupervised.
B

Episode: WNBA Queerbaiting Scandal
Date: May 14, 2026
Hosts: Syd Colson & Theresa (TP) Plaisance
This wildly entertaining, off-the-rails episode finds Syd and TP centering women’s basketball culture, diving deep into WNBA rookie antics, the recent social media “queerbaiting scandal,” and unapologetic queer joy. The duo’s signature blend of banter, storytelling, and inside-scoop gives listeners a hilarious, insightful, and often poignant look into the world of women’s hoops, locker room culture, social media mess, and fan dynamics. They touch on everything from generational divides in sports to the joys and headaches of increased WNBA visibility, all while holding court on Twitter drama, mascot fashion, and the best “white woman revenge” movies.
If you haven’t listened yet, you’ll walk away both laughing and clued-in to the current landscape of WNBA culture, on and off the court. Syd and TP manage to balance thoughtful commentary with riotous comedy, always bringing love for the women’s game, queer excellence, and their personal community. They invite listeners to send drama and questions, promising to keep the group chat vibe alive—on air and in DMs.
