You're listening to the 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
Well, happy Friday morning. You made it to the weekend. Ben Ferguson with you. And here are the big stories we're covering today on the 47 Morning Update. President Trump has unveiled a new plan for the largest tax cut in the history of this country for middle class working Americans. What's in it? I'll give you all the details coming up in just a moment. Also, you know about how much money the government was giving to private media companies. That's been exposed by doge. But what happens when you have radio stations that are backed by George Soros broadcasting the live locations of undercover ICE agents? Well, the FCC is now open open an investigation into exactly that. I'll give you those details as well. And finally, if you are a Christian or religious individual, you're going to love what President Trump is planning on signing an executive order creating a task force to eradicate anti Christian bias within the US federal government. It is the 47 Morning Update and it starts right now.
Story number one, there are two themes.
That we are witnessing happening each and every day coming from the Oval Office. Number one, slashing size of government. And two, giving those savings back to American taxpayers. Now, the slashing is happening at record rates. The Secretary of State Marco Rubio just deemed that only 294 USAID staffers are necessary out of the more than 14,000 that are currently on the payroll. The entire agency will be immediately reduced from the 14,000 to 294 employees. This has to be the biggest mass firing so far in the Trump administration. Now, the second question is, well, if we're going to start saving all this money, what are we going to do with it? Well, we have an answer to that question coming from the White House today as the White House press secretary came out announcing the largest tax cut in history for middle class working Americans. What's in it? She describes it.

So these are the tax priorities of the Trump administration that the president has laid out for members in that meeting today. Not tax on tips, which is obviously a very public campaign promise that the president made. No tax on seniors, Social Security, no tax on overtime pay, renewing President Trump's 2017 middle class tax cuts. Again, these are the president's priorities Adjusting the salt cap, Eliminate all the special tax breaks for billionaire sports team owners. Close the carried interest tax deduction loophole. Tax cuts for made in America products. This will be the largest tax cut in history for middle class working Americans. The President is committed to working with Congress to get this done.
Ben Ferguson
You hear that list? And there's some things in there that should really stand out. One of those is incredible about a tax cut for, quote, Made in America products. That one should stand out to all Americans and American manufacturers or companies that manufacture overseas. What is the President trying to do? He's trying to create industries in this country, create products that are made in America and make sure that American workers have the great opportunity to succeed instead of watching their job be shipped off overseas. Now, if you look at what happened in this meeting, it was one that was very important. The meeting was with House Republican leaders and the President outlined his proposal as he described to them, to eliminate federal taxes on that list. Tips, overtime pay, Social Security benefits are at the top of the list. Now, to offset the potential revenue loss from these cuts, President Trump has suggested ending tax benefits for billionaire sports team owners and hedge fund managers, specifically by closing the carried interest loophole. Now, the administration is working closely. We've also been told from inside the White House with congressional Republicans to finalize these tax initiatives. Internal debates are happening as we speak. Now, while you may be asking yourself, why doesn't President Trump just do this through executive order? Well, he's not allowed to. Implementing them through an executive order is not feasible as tax legislation requires congressional approval, which is exactly why he had the meeting with Republican congressional leaders. Therefore, the administration is now stating that their sole focus is on pushing legislative avenues to achieve these objectives that were laid out. At the end of the day, the President is saying it again. I'm going to save you your money that's being wasted by our government. And then I want to return much of it to you.
Now, story number two.
As most of you probably already know, we've now found out that our federal government was sending millions and millions of your tax dollars to major media organizations. In essence, they were state sponsored media under the Biden Harris administrations. Whether it is Politico, which has received 8.2 million on subscriptions alone, or the New York Times, which has received millions of dollars as well, the Associated Press add them to the list on the take from the government and then you have literal government media like National Public Radio, which receives an incredible amount of money from the federal government. Now all of this is being exposed and much of it is being stopped. But there's also other problems we're now finding out about when it comes to private radio stations. In fact, right before Donald Trump came into office, the Federal Communications Commission approved a license deal delivering leftist billionaire George Soros control over 200 Odyssey radio stations. Yes, there was dissenting commissioners that were calling it, quote, unprecedented at the time it took place. So why did they do it? Well, the deal was to allow Soros to acquire much power in the United States of America. And there were some that were saying this is flat out wrong. Well, guess what they've been doing with those radio stations. Well now the Federal Communications Commission, the same group that just a few months ago allowed for foreign backed billionaire George Soros to own 200 plus radio stations in America, has launched an investigation into those radio stations. Yes, this group backed by the Hungarian born Soros purchased those stations and now they're using those stations apparently to help criminals and their activity. According to Fox News, one of those stations, KCBS 7:40am in San Francisco, has come under scrutiny from the SEC for revealing live locations of undercover ICE vehicles and agents that were conducting deportation operations in the San Jose area. The FCC Enforcement Bureau has already sent a formal letter, we're being told of inquiry to the radio station as part of the FCC investigation. The enforcement Bureau proceeding is inquiring whether the radio station which is licensed to operate by the FCC is violating the terms of their license which requires that they operate in the public interest. Now, the ICE agents were reportedly operating in response to violent gang activity. We're talking about the worst among us. On January 26, the host of KCBS Radio Weekend News revealed over the public airwaves that undercover ICE agents were, quote, carrying out an operation on the east side of town and then revealed the specific make, color and model of several unmarked vehicles used in the operation. This all coming from Fox News. The FCC commissioner, a Trump NOW appointee, said in a statement that broadcasting such locations could potentially put agents at risk which would violate the public interest. Saying this, I want to express my thanks and appreciation to the Department of Homeland Security and ICE agents. These law enforcement professionals are honorably serving their country and carrying out vital missions. Their safety is paramount. The FCC will hold broadcasters accountable for complying with their public interest obligations. So if you want to know why Democrats ran this through right before Trump came into office, it was because they wanted George Soros to be able to control the airwaves and apparently give out live data on law enforcement operations to help those that are wanted.
And lastly, story number Three.
It may be one of the most important announcements that Donald Trump will make in his presidency. President Trump announced on Thursday that he will sign an executive order to create a task force that will eradicate anti Christian bias from the federal government. The president made the announcement at the National Prayer breakfast in Washington, D.C. adding that the Attorney General, Pam Bondi, will lead that task force. Here's the president in his own words.
Donald Trump
To confront such weaponization and religious persecution. Today, I'm signing an executive order to make our Attorney general, who's a great person, she's going to be a great Attorney General. Pam Bondi, the head of a task force, brand new, to eradicate anti Christian bias. About time, right? Anti Christian bias. The mission of this task force will be to immediately halt all forms of anti Christian targeting and discrimination within the federal government, including at the doj, which was absolutely terrible. The irs, the FBI, terrible, and other agencies. In addition, the task force will work to fully prosecute anti Christian violence and vandalism in our society and to move heaven and earth to defend the rights of Christians and religious believers nationwide. You've never had that before, but this is a very powerful document I'm signing. You got it. You got it now. First time you've had it. If we don't have religious liberty, then we don't have a free country. We probably don't even have a country.
Ben Ferguson
The order clearly establishes a task force called the quote, Task Force to End the War on Christians and will include members of Trump's cabinet and agencies. The task force will review all departments to identify and eliminate anti Christian policies, practices or conduct. The president's order also will seek to find gaps in laws and enforcement contributing to such conduct and then make recommendations on further action. If necessary, the task force will be required to submit an annual report on its progress and a final report when it concludes its work. The best part is Pam Bonding is going to be leading the way. And one other thing that's very important is the president's also promised to go back to crimes that were committed in the not so distant past. President Trump had also promised at the 52nd annual March for Life rally in January to instruct the Department of Justice to investigate the hundreds of pro abortion attacks on churches and pregnancy centers that occurred following the leak of the Supreme Court's DOB decision in 2022. If we don't have religious liberty, then we don't have a free country. We probably don't even have a country. That is how Donald Trump put it today. And I couldn't agree more with what he said.

Title: Trump Moves on the BIGGEST Tax Cuts in History for the Middle Class
Host: Premiere Networks
Release Date: February 7, 2025
In this episode of “Verdict with Ted Cruz,” Senator Ted Cruz and co-host Ben Ferguson delve into President Donald Trump's latest initiatives, focusing on groundbreaking tax reforms, media influence concerns, and measures to address anti-Christian bias within the federal government. The discussion provides a comprehensive analysis of how these developments may impact American taxpayers, national security, and religious freedoms.
President Trump has unveiled a proposal for what he claims to be the largest tax cut in U.S. history aimed specifically at middle-class working Americans. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to reduce government size and redirect savings back to taxpayers.
Unnamed White House Official [02:28]:
“These are the tax priorities of the Trump administration... This will be the largest tax cut in history for middle class working Americans.”
President Trump [05:02]:
“I'm going to save you your money that's being wasted by our government. And then I want to return much of it to you.”
The administration is currently engaging with House Republican leaders to secure legislative approval, as tax reforms cannot be enacted through executive orders alone. Internal debates within the White House indicate a robust process to finalize these tax initiatives, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to reducing taxpayer burdens and promoting economic growth.
The episode addresses revelations that the federal government under the Biden-Harris administration has been channeling millions of taxpayer dollars to major media organizations, effectively supporting state-sponsored media. This financial support extends to outlets like Politico, The New York Times, the Associated Press, and National Public Radio (NPR).
A significant concern is the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) decision to license George Soros, a Hungarian billionaire, to control over 200 Odyssey radio stations. These stations have recently come under investigation for broadcasting sensitive information that compromises law enforcement operations.
One notable incident involves KCBS Radio in San Francisco disclosing live locations of undercover ICE agents conducting deportation operations. The FCC Enforcement Bureau has initiated an inquiry into whether such broadcasts violate the public interest clause of their licenses.
FCC Commissioner [08:57]:
“Broadcasting such locations could potentially put agents at risk which would violate the public interest.”
Donald Trump [05:04]:
“...radio stations backed by George Soros broadcasting the live locations of undercover ICE agents...”
The FCC’s investigation aims to hold Soros-backed broadcasters accountable, asserting that their actions undermine national security by exposing law enforcement activities. This scrutiny is part of a broader effort to retract government funds from media entities deemed to be state-sponsored and to ensure that media operations align with public interest standards.
In a significant move, President Trump announced an executive order aimed at eliminating anti-Christian bias within the federal government. This initiative underscores the administration’s commitment to protecting religious liberties and ensuring equal treatment for Christians in governmental institutions.
The executive order establishes the "Task Force to End the War on Christians," led by Attorney General Pam Bondi. The task force is tasked with reviewing federal departments to identify and eradicate policies, practices, or conduct that perpetuate anti-Christian discrimination.
President Trump [09:26]:
“If we don't have religious liberty, then we don't have a free country. We probably don't even have a country.”
President Trump [10:31]:
“You’ve never had that before, but this is a very powerful document I’m signing.”
The task force is also committed to revisiting past crimes related to anti-Christian violence, specifically targeting incidents that surged after the 2022 Supreme Court decision on the Department of Behavioral Health (DOB). This retrospective investigation aims to address unresolved issues and provide accountability for previous acts of religious persecution.
This executive order represents a pivotal step in safeguarding religious freedoms, particularly for Christians, within federal institutions. By systematically addressing and eliminating bias, the administration seeks to foster an environment of equality and respect for all religious beliefs.
In this episode, Ted Cruz and Ben Ferguson provide an incisive analysis of President Trump’s latest policy initiatives, highlighting substantial tax reforms, concerns over media manipulation and national security, and measures to protect religious liberties. The discussions emphasize the administration’s focus on reducing government oversight, promoting economic growth, and ensuring fair treatment for religious communities, particularly Christians. These developments are poised to have significant implications for American taxpayers, media integrity, and the preservation of constitutional freedoms.
