This week, Quincy and Kyle take a look at Lion Maru G, 2006's relaunch/sequel to the classic Kaiketsu Lion Maru. This one hurt. Like, a lot. Like, a lot a lot.

Quincy is taking some family time for the holidays, so Kyle drafts his wonderful and eternally patient wife Meg to talk about two Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers direct-to-VHS Christmas Specials, "Alpha's Magical Christmas" and "I'm Dreaming Of A White Ranger." Also, the Green Ranger Kata is shouted about.

Kyle and Quincy unpack P-Productions' long, strange obsession with magical furry super heroes, by examining the unsold pilots for Jaguarman and Leopardman, as well as the Kids Klassic VHS "Magic of the Ninja," a dub of the first episode of Kaiketsu Lion-Maru!

We're back with a real episode today! Quincy and Kyle finally sit back down and talk about MegaBeast Investigator Juspion, a show that makes up for its remarkably cheap costuming and effects with a ton of charisma and disco. Also, it turns out to be huge in Brazil, which is awesome! Also, you might notice that we've skipped from episode 6 to 8 here, due to the "lost episode" about Daiei Film's Yokai trilogy. We might circle back to it later, we might not, but either way, that's how the numbering is gonna go.

Hi folks, no new episode this week due to a combination of family obligations and general anxiety and exhaustion. It's been a wild ride and it's probably just going to get wilder. In the mean time, please head over to https://fairfight.com to help contribute to Democratic and progressive candidates in the Georgia runoff elections. There aren't real fifty foot alien heroes in the world, so it's up to us to transform into our best selves, protect those around us, and stand tall against evil.

We're a bit late this week due to some technical problems with the episode. Kyle managed to recover most of the audio though, so here you go!

In our fifth episode, Quincy and Kyle behold the gonzo majesty that is Golden Bat, possibly the oldest published super hero in the world, in his 1966 feature film debut! Topics include gold glittery super mummies, Snorlax pajamas, and Piranha 3-DD!

We're a little late publishing this week due to some life things, but hey, it's a free podcast. This week, Kyle and Quincy take a look at the first (and maybe the best?) Super Sentai series, Himitsu Sentai Goranger! Get yourself a big bowl of golden curry and settle in for nuclear bombs, giant boomerangs, and a surprising amount of mass murder!

Do you like teleportation revenge plots and watching a culture trying to navigate post-war anxieties, cultural reorganization, and foreign occupation? Of course you do. Watch extremely murderable rich guys get bayonetted! Thrill to weird military themed restaurants!

Content Warning: The first episode of Dokincho! Nemulin includes a protracted sequence of a parent physically abusing a child played as a slapstick gag. We call this joke out briefly in our episode, and if you want to skip this one, feel free. This week, Quincy and Kyle attempt to process the wild ride that is Dokincho! Nemulin, a Toei "Fushigi Comedy" series created by Shotaro Ishinomori. Topics include 8 million year long naps, sentient ice cream, and elementary school badasses.
