David Dobrik
What's up, guys? Wel back to view. Jay, guess what?
Dave
What happened?
David Dobrik
I just found this fact out and it's going to blow your mind.
Dave
Amazing.
David Dobrik
You know Billy Idol? Yeah, I actually don't know who he is.
Dave
Not Billy Eilish. Billy Idol.
David Dobrik
Billy Idol. Oh, yeah.
Dave
Dancing with my elf.
David Dobrik
Oh, that's him.
Dave
That D site.
David Dobrik
So one time at a party, I found this on TikTok.
Dave
Yeah.
David Dobrik
And it reminded me of us. One time you had a party in Thailand. In one in a penthouse in a hotel. He caused $150,000 in damages and the Thai government had to come and shoot him with a tranquilizer dart to get him out.
Natalie
Shut the fuck up.
David Dobrik
Yeah, and I looked it up. It looks legit.
Dave
Oh, wow.
David Dobrik
The only. The only thing is it's not that he wouldn't stop partying. It was that he wouldn't vacate the premises to. To go for the president. The president needed to come in and use the room.
Natalie
President of Thailand?
David Dobrik
I don't know. Some country.
Dave
Something like that.
David Dobrik
Yeah. So these are the facts I want to start the podcast with.
Dave
Amazing. I mean, Billy Idol. He looks like a good time.
Natalie
Was he like a rock star?
David Dobrik
Rock star like that rockstar rock star?
Natalie
That was his reputation.
David Dobrik
I also want this to be a new thing here. We. When we start the pod, I want us to give a fact so people that are listening can leave this immediately with something they've learned. So Jay, now you. Now you say something.
Dave
Guys that get morning wood are less likely to have a heart attack. Do you get morning wood? Dave?
Natalie
I have heard actually great things about having sex in the morning.
Dave
Yes.
David Dobrik
For men would net huge, huge hard.
Natalie
On in the morning.
David Dobrik
You've heard great things from men about.
Ferris
Having sex in the morning. Yeah, that makes sense. No, like, I think it's really important we right now.
Dave
It's for my health.
Ferris
It's for my health.
Natalie
It's like. Yeah, I just, like, in order. Like, if you have sex, you have that release first thing in the morning. Like you have a more productive day. You know, all the things are better.
David Dobrik
Throughout the 100% think you should be doing that in the morning. I'm by standby.
Dave
Right, Right.
Natalie
Whether it's yourself or with somebody, you.
David Dobrik
Get morning wood, though maybe too much information.
Dave
Right.
David Dobrik
But you bet your ass.
Dave
When you were working out a lot, did you get more wood?
David Dobrik
No.
Dave
Oh, you didn't?
David Dobrik
No.
Natalie
He's hyperactive as is.
David Dobrik
Yeah. I mean, can I just tell you, just all.
Natalie
Don't tell us.
David Dobrik
Don't get me started about working out, about what it does to you and what it doesn't. Because I have never been happier since I've quit. I am at the peak happiness of.
Dave
My life since you've gone full slack.
David Dobrik
I actually had.
Ferris
No, I had.
David Dobrik
I did not realize how miserable I.
Ferris
Was being in shape.
Dave
Really?
David Dobrik
Yeah.
Dave
Damn.
Ferris
Morning wood. Yes. I get morning wood. And I also masturbated this morning.
Dave
Wonderful. Clean it out. Huh? Amazing.
Ferris
Can I tell you something about Natalie?
Natalie
Oh, please do.
Dave
I want to hear.
Natalie
Can I say. Oh, wait, go. No, no, you say no, say something. No, you're about to say something nice. I can feel it.
Ferris
No, I definitely wasn't going to say anything nice.
David Dobrik
Fuck.
Natalie
Ok, I just want to say after, I think I texted both of you guys this, but after the last podcast.
Dave
Yeah.
Natalie
The amount of DMs that I got, I've never had this many DMs like, in my life. And I feel like I've done some pretty cool shit, but. But literally the shit.
Dave
Wow.
Natalie
Is what I mean. I was scrolling, scrolling like. And still to this day, people are still listening, like, hey, I'm gonna keep your secret. Don't worry, it's safe between us.
David Dobrik
Oh, and you said you had diarrhea.
Natalie
Well, you said you told people. You were like, you guys, this is our little secret. This is our close friends podcast. You know, but if you are out there and you're listening, make sure to send Natalie dm. You're gonna keep her secret safe.
Ferris
That's really funny.
Natalie
And even on my, like, I posted an Instagram picture or whatever and my post, they're like, we're gonna keep your secret. I'm like, this does not look good for me.
Ferris
Oh, I remember when you first. When you first got that dm, you, like, freaked out.
David Dobrik
Yeah.
Natalie
I was scared.
Ferris
What Secret. But then immediately you knew what. Yeah, that's really funny.
David Dobrik
Yeah.
Ferris
People have been messaging me about being on My Close Friends, too.
Dave
Yeah, I saw your clothes. I finally got a look at the Close Friends, and it was great.
Ferris
Exhilarating.
Dave
It was. It was so good.
David Dobrik
What did.
Dave
But then also, I was like, why is this Close Friends? I was like, this is great. Why wouldn't you just share this to your followers?
Ferris
Because it's just more intimate.
Dave
It was.
Ferris
Sometimes I'll take Natalie off the Close Friends, and I'll just talk shit about her.
Natalie
That's not funny.
Dave
Really?
David Dobrik
Yeah.
Ferris
We were yesterday in Minnesota, and I was really. I was really pissed.
David Dobrik
Yeah.
Ferris
Cause we were in Minnesota, and I was just. I just took her off to Close Friends, and I just let it rip.
David Dobrik
No, you didn't. Yeah.
Dave
Yeah, he did. He did let it rip.
Natalie
Did he? Actually.
Dave
Yeah. The first slide was you, like, putting stuff into the car, and it was like, why the fuck doesn't. Natalie's planning too much stuff.
Sponsor Voice 2
Stuff.
David Dobrik
And she saw that.
Ferris
She didn't see the other stuff.
Natalie
What was the other stuff?
Ferris
I mean, Natalie, I don't want to see it. I don't want to tell you right now, but I use some words that probably should never be used.
David Dobrik
Yeah.
Dave
Then it was you guys getting manicures or getting massages in the airport.
Natalie
That's good.
Dave
Yeah, we're at the mall.
Natalie
We went to Mall of America, and we sat in these massage chairs for, like, 30 minutes to kill some time.
Dave
And then it was. You had to pay her $10 to get up. Is that what it was? The Venmo. You Venmo?
Natalie
The massage chair cost $10.
Ferris
We got. Yeah, we got into the massage chairs at Mall of America, and I got. They kind of fucking. They kind of suck.
Natalie
Oh, I was having a great time.
Ferris
I just want to sit, but they're so fucking hard. I was like, natalie, can we please leave? And then she's like, if you pay me for the remainder of the time. So I had to send Natalie $10 to get up from the chair. Other than that, Mall of America was cool, but I do. I do. I am worried about malls in general. I just feel like it's like, the.
Natalie
Status of the life span of a mall.
Ferris
Yeah.
Natalie
Yeah.
Dave
You think people won't go anymore?
Ferris
I think they need to be smaller and more activity driven. Like, I think it needs, like. I don't think people.
Dave
More escape rooms.
Ferris
Escape rooms? Are a little lame, but I think, like. Like, I've always said, like, turn our mall here, the Sherman Oaks Mall, right? Yeah. It actually gets, like, pretty good foot traffic. I feel like for a mall, it does really well. Yeah, but I'm just saying, if it was suffering, what I would do is I would gut the big department stores like Macy's, whatever, have the ends be, like mini golf on one end, on the, like, 18 holes on the other end. Let's do eight pickleball courts, two tennis courts on the other end. Because, you know, malls are usually, like, quadrants. Like, they're in, like, fours.
Dave
Yeah, yeah.
Ferris
So, like, on the other end, do basketball courts, and then through the hallways have, like, activities, like, either bars or make it very, like, topgolf ask, but make the entire thing like an activity center. So you come in and you just spend all day, and it's just unlimited activities. And it could be even, like, a theme park. Like, you. You. You Pay, like, a $50 day pass, and maybe you get one free meal at the food court.
David Dobrik
I don't know why.
Dave
You can go to Abercrombie if you want.
David Dobrik
Yeah, I don't know why that's not happening. I feel like activities.
Ferris
Activities will never die unless we figure out VR properly. So I don't understand why malls aren't converting to, like, activity hubs, Especially in the Midwest, where, like, the activities are limited. Once it gets fucking cold, like, you can.
Dave
Only you can do all that at the mall. America.
David Dobrik
Right.
Dave
There's all kinds of things you can do. There's.
Ferris
You can. But there's something about it. It's the feng shui of these big malls that's a little bit off.
Dave
Yeah.
Ferris
But then it's too much happening.
Dave
But then also, I have been to malls that have that stuff, and that's the worst. You want to go into an escape room or go into a place that has, like, mirrors and stuff.
David Dobrik
I literally just told you why. It's the feng shui. It needs to be built, like, as an activity center, not as a mall Coexisting with an activity center. That's what you just listed as, like, cheap activities. And then also, I think there's another spectrum where, like, I don't think you need skiing inside a mall.
Dave
No.
David Dobrik
Like, I don't think you need to go, like, above and beyond. I just think it needs to, like, all be so cohesive and make so much sense. Where it's, like. And I. And I think walking through the mall, it shouldn't be a mall. I think it should be turfed, and it should be like you're walking through a neighborhood with street lights and, like, I think it should feel like, oh, I've just entered funland.
Dave
Like a city.
Ferris
Yeah.
Dave
I don't know, like, the Venetian.
David Dobrik
Venetian's a little too. Like, we're pumping oxygen here to keep you awake. Yeah, a little. A little more like laid back and chill.
Dave
Okay.
David Dobrik
I don't know, David Dobrik. If somebody wants to approach me with this, I feel like we can really reinvent malls.
Dave
Hey, do you see this thing?
David Dobrik
Yes, I do get morning wood.
Dave
Do you see this thing that's, like, all over TikTok? It's like your boyfriend is embarrassing.
Natalie
Yes.
Dave
Like a big push to not have a boyfriend.
Ferris
Keep talking about this, and every time I tune out because I really don't know what you guys are saying. What is mean?
Dave
It's like, if you have a boyfriend, that's embarrassing. Like, you should either have a husband or be single.
Natalie
Vogue released this article about. Is having a boyfriend embarrassing these days?
Ferris
Oh.
Natalie
Because there's a lot. There's a lot of like. Like, it feels like a lot of people are single, you know?
Dave
Right.
Natalie
And if it's also, like. There's also this thing where it's like, I bring my boyfriend.
Ferris
When did they release this?
Natalie
Like, a week or two ago.
Ferris
So I haven't beat. I have been saying this now.
Natalie
It does align with your theory.
Ferris
Yeah, my theory. Natalie, go ahead, tell everybody. I've been really hard on this. Like, really hardcore on my new theory.
Dave
Yeah.
Ferris
You know how I change my perspective on life every, like, every episode? Every episode. This is my new perspective. Go ahead, Natalie. Natalie's getting really bothered by it. Like, she, like, yells at me to shut up.
Natalie
Well, which perspective? Because we talk about this extensively.
David Dobrik
Yeah, Yeah.
Ferris
I mean, just like. Like, give me, like, the basics.
Natalie
Well, David is just saying, like, this. This life is so overstimulating. There's so many going. So many things going on. You have access to so many people and so many things. Like. Like, true love is essentially dead, right? Like, this. Like, this, like, process or thought of, like, eternal love and marriage and all of that. So, like, he's like, let's be real. Because, you know, guys, I know you're.
Ferris
Listening to this, and you guys have significant others where you guys are completely in love, and I don't discount that at all. I think that's. I think that's real. I think there's, like, this unfortunate thing with what is. What is in at least the little corner of Los Angeles that we live in.
Dave
Yeah.
Ferris
There that we like spend our day to day in. That sucks that out of you. And I just think it's impossible to find love currently.
Natalie
It is difficult.
Dave
It's a job. You have to go and you're not willing to go and look for it.
David Dobrik
It's not like that. Like in the Midwest, it like operates. It's like different. It's different. Like you find someone that you're really comfortable with, you do those activities with them and like, that's it.
Natalie
I think it's just our lives the way that we currently, like, we'd have to do a real life change.
David Dobrik
Like, you guys live in a bubble.
Ferris
It's like.
David Dobrik
Yeah, yeah, we do. Everyone lives in their own bubble. Our bubbles unfortunately fucking sucked out.
Ferris
There's no love. Someone has squeezed the love out of.
Natalie
Our bubble so mad we weren't sitting next to each other.
David Dobrik
I don't like it. Yeah, I don't like it. I'm just learning to accept it.
Dave
Sure, okay.
Natalie
But just like, keep it to yourself, because I don't. I don't like when he spreads this negative energy towards me. I was telling him, I was like, I understand that misery loves company and you're trying to rationalize this.
David Dobrik
I told her that she's the Nepo baby of misery because Jen is queen of misery.
Ferris
And she doesn't.
David Dobrik
She for some reason thinks that I'm.
Ferris
The one that's miserable.
David Dobrik
I'm just trying to adapt here to the situation that way.
Natalie
Yeah, but I don't want to live that way. I want to.
David Dobrik
You have to. You have to leave here.
Natalie
Okay, well, then I will.
David Dobrik
You have to. I'm telling you, you genuinely have to. Like, the people that have found success and love in LA are the people that are like, yeah, I got to get out of here and just like, leave.
Dave
I found success.
David Dobrik
I found love, dude. I can't. You're. You're such an anomaly.
Dave
Ferris has a girlfriend.
David Dobrik
It's crazy.
Dave
Ferris found love. Joe got married. I mean, Scott.
David Dobrik
Okay, I'm so sorry. He's. I'm not. Okay, first of all, all of them.
Dave
Have moved out, but they found the love here.
David Dobrik
Yeah, but they had to leave because of it.
Dave
They didn't. They didn't live because of their love. They left because they. They wanted to leave. But I mean, like, it's. You're not. In other words, this is what I think's going on.
David Dobrik
I also, I also am not speaking on everybody that lives in Los Angeles. I would say, like our little corner.
Dave
Not Even corner our specific little Natalie and David corner of this movie room. Yeah, okay, I'll speak on that. That's what I mean. I'll speak on that.
David Dobrik
You don't. You don't. Our personal experience. You don't put in the work.
Dave
You don't put in.
David Dobrik
You don't put in the work.
Dave
Because at the end of the day, David, you'd rather fucking sit on the couch and watch John eat wings.
David Dobrik
This has happened.
Dave
And time him.
David Dobrik
This has happened to me.
Dave
Then. Than be with a woman.
David Dobrik
Okay, here's. Yes, you're totally right. I'd rather sit with John and Alex all fucking day than be with a woman.
Dave
Sure.
David Dobrik
And this has happened to me, like, I'm not even kidding you. Two or three times the last week. I'm not kidding. I'm not exaggerating. Okay, maybe two times.
Ferris
Okay.
David Dobrik
But it's enough that it's happening. Happened two. It feels like it's happened 10.
Dave
Sure.
David Dobrik
I've, like, been, like, talking to a girl when I'm out.
Dave
Right.
David Dobrik
And I'm just. And I'm just like, what do you like to do? And actually happened way more than two. And without fail, she's like, I just love, like, I can't say no to activities. Like, I love going to do things. Like, I love if I'm going on a hike, random trip to Santa Barbara. I love, like, I'll go anywhere.
Ferris
All these, like, millions of things.
David Dobrik
And.
Ferris
And I'm always like, oh.
David Dobrik
I always say. I'm just. I always keep it super honest. I'm like, oh, you have the wrong person. Like, I absolutely. I don't like to say that. Yeah. Like, I don't like doing anything. Like, I love staying at home. I'll say no to everything under the sun.
Ferris
Yeah.
David Dobrik
And then. And then this says, this is what happened twice. They go, well, honestly, like, me too. Like, I don't. I feel like I'm such a homebody.
Dave
Really trying to hook you in.
David Dobrik
Yeah. And I'm like, what is this?
Dave
That's a move. That's a definite move.
David Dobrik
But it's not. It's not true. Because I know if they actually understood my lifestyle, they'd be like, oh, damn, he wasn't kidding. He does like to be at home. Yeah. But that someone put it for me in a good perspective, like, painting the picture properly. They're like, I think your job is so overstimulating with, like. And, like, it's so draining socially.
Dave
Yeah.
David Dobrik
That you do actually enjoy doing nothing.
Dave
Yeah.
David Dobrik
Because you just get so much of that working. And I know that's, like, should be kind of obvious, but I think I'm.
Dave
Not obvious at all.
David Dobrik
I've never heard anybody say that. And I'm like, oh, wow, that's totally true. Like, my work is what other people consider. Durant trip to Mexico. I do. Yeah. Yeah. But, like, I'm doing it as part of, like, work. Yeah.
Ferris
So I just do it.
David Dobrik
I do it often.
Dave
Yeah.
David Dobrik
Yeah.
Dave
That's. If that's a fair.
David Dobrik
So, anyway, no love assessment.
Taylor
I'm also.
David Dobrik
I don't know. I'm also amping it up for. Please don't DM me.
Natalie
This is actually the way he speaks in person. You're like, you're never gonna find love.
David Dobrik
Yeah, but. But, yeah, I just amp it up just because this is my personality right now. So don't. Don't DM me. Things like, Dave, you gotta give love another chance. I will. I'm just being dramatic for.
Dave
Come back next week when he's in love.
David Dobrik
Yeah, yeah. Next week's gonna be different. Jay, I found a pocket in Santa Barbara. It's not like it is here.
Dave
That sounds good.
David Dobrik
Okay, sorry. Now, what were you saying? You kind of believe what I say, right?
Natalie
I understand what you're saying. I just, like. I just refuse to believe it because it's such, like, a pessimistic outlook on, like, you're just, like, closing yourself off, you know? And I'm at a point right now where I feel like I have more men in my life than I ever have.
Dave
Wow.
Natalie
You know, like, I feel like I have, like.
David Dobrik
Okay.
Natalie
Not that I'm, like, hooking up with people, but I just.
Dave
Any suitors?
Natalie
I feel like the past two months, like, I've had more. I've had. I've interacted in on a romantic level.
Dave
Yeah.
Natalie
Not hooking up, but just, like, talking to men. Men approaching me, and it never really happens. Like, I feel like we've talked about this before where I feel like people are, like, scared to approach me.
Ferris
Like, that's 100 true. You know what changed it is the Ferrari.
David Dobrik
No.
Natalie
100%. I've gotten hit up so much more since I got the fries.
Dave
Really?
David Dobrik
Yeah. Which you think is, like, the opposite, which is crazy.
Natalie
Yeah, it's really crazy.

David Dobrik
Huh.
Ferris
I wonder why that is. Yeah, because that obviously doesn't happen. Well, I don't think it's happened to me. I didn't get, like, a Ferrari or anything. And people are like, it was like a switch.
Dave
I mean, get more girls when you got your Ferrari.
David Dobrik
100%.
Ferris
Not.
Natalie
I don't know.
Ferris
And then the one thing I definitely. One thing that definitely didn't help me is when I got abs.
Dave
Really?
Natalie
What are you talking about? Everybody reached out to you when you had abs.
David Dobrik
To congratulate me.
Ferris
But it was not like, girls were, like, mostly.
Dave
Well, you also just.
Natalie
You, like, hid away. You, like, got the abs, and then you were like, I'm gonna just curl up on the couch and not put them to use.
Ferris
What, are we gonna just go fuck the town?
Natalie
No. Like, get out there, look good.
Sponsor Voice
No, no, no.
Ferris
I'm telling you, like.
David Dobrik
Sorry, I wanna go back to your Ferrari thing because I think it's really interesting. But, yes, the abs definitely did not. I don't know. I don't think I've ever, like, purchased anything that's actually helped me, but for some reason, this Ferrari is doing shocking numbers with you.
Natalie
I know.
David Dobrik
Like, it. Why?
Dave
Why do you think that is?
David Dobrik
Why do I. Yeah, I think there was, like. I think Natalie was in, like, a spot that was like, no man's land. It's like, who is this woman? Like, is she doing well or is she. Do you know what I mean? I don't know how to explain it.
Dave
Yeah. Yeah, that's it.
Natalie
Or is, like. Is it just her friend is facilitating her entire, like, being.
David Dobrik
Yes. Yeah. And I think. I think the Ferrari, like, gave her character.
Ferris
This materialistic car finally gave her personality. No, no, no, But. Do you know what I'm saying?
Dave
Visibility.
David Dobrik
But no, no, it's not. It's not.
Natalie
No, but it's like. It's. It's kind of become, like.
Ferris
Like, it's, like, made her, like her own person.
David Dobrik
It's so weird. I don't know what it is.
Dave
It's a great opener. How's the Ferrari?
David Dobrik
Yeah.
Natalie
Yeah. That's how every single one of them opens.
Dave
An easy question to ask. It's innocuous.
David Dobrik
There's, like, a guy that stopped talking.
Ferris
Talking to her for a little.
David Dobrik
And, like.
Natalie
Yeah.
Ferris
Had.
Natalie
Didn't talk to me all summer.
Dave
Yeah.
Natalie
And then I got this Ferrari. Literally, like I kid you not, two days after the we posted that I got this Ferrari, he has been hitting me up non stop, trying to hang out, trying. I'm like, I'm not even like interested in like non stop.
Dave
Like, wow.
David Dobrik
Doesn't respond to the text. So he swipes up on Instagram.
Dave
Yeah.
Natalie
If I don't respond, he'll DM me. Like, really? Yeah. Not. Not like in an annoying way, but.
David Dobrik
She'S got like decorations at her house and he's like, where did you get these? I'm looking for this for my house. She didn't respond on Instagram. So then he texted her saying, hey, I'm still looking for these decor. Like, like completely unnecessary things. Wow.
Natalie
Really interesting.
Dave
Yeah, that's it. Girls just gotta get a sports car, I guess.
David Dobrik
Yeah, I think there's usually like a. There's usually a fear with girls with sports cars.
Natalie
That's what I thought was gonna happen. People are gonna be like, oh, this girl is too much. Like, this is too much going on.
David Dobrik
I think it's how you acquired it. I think. I don't know. I think it's because you are like businessy on your page. I don't know.
Natalie
I'm not businessy at all on my page. I'm like in a bikini and have the fucking photos.
David Dobrik
No, but you're. I don't know. I don't know. I'm shocked. But yes. Natalie's been fucking crushing in the men department.
Dave
Damn.
David Dobrik
Just obliterate.
Dave
Do you go through her DMs?
David Dobrik
No. She's actually really weird about like, me.
Ferris
Reading a message of hers.
David Dobrik
I think she gets, like, really embarrassed about how she talks.
Natalie
Well, yeah, because you make fun of me.
David Dobrik
Yeah, for sure.
Ferris
Do you know, that's. That actually is an interesting point.
David Dobrik
There was one moment where I was talking to. This is where my personality forever changed. And I can't believe I've never spoken about this because it was like such a big revelation for me.
Ferris
There was this moment where I was. There was this girl I liked and.
David Dobrik
I really liked her.
Dave
Yeah.
David Dobrik
And I was being like, very extroverted. And I was like making jokes, blah.
Ferris
Blah, blah, blah, blah.
David Dobrik
Really being David about it. And my friend, I feel like this has happened to everybody, but my friend in front of her goes, dude, you're.
Ferris
Really different when you're talking to girls.
David Dobrik
And I was like, oh, my God.
Ferris
That'S like one of.
David Dobrik
That's so fucking embarrassing that he would just say this in front of her. So then from there on out. I made it. So I'm always the version of me that's talking to girls.
Dave
Yeah.
David Dobrik
So I like, so never.
Dave
What's up, moron?
David Dobrik
No, genuinely, so never. Am I. I don't even remember that old David.
Ferris
Sure.
David Dobrik
Because I just genuinely. That's when I became, I think, David, when I was like, fuck it, I'm gonna be this extra. I'm gonna talk to Natalie the exact way that if a girl was in the room, like, you know, I mean, like, how many times do you see me talking to a girl? And it's that much different than what I would be like in real life.
Natalie
I don't think. I don't think I've seen. I think they're. Yeah, the same.
David Dobrik
Exactly. That's by design.
Dave
That's why you're single.
Natalie
I don't really watch you talk to girls.
David Dobrik
Maybe you.
Dave
Maybe it's okay to. To code switch when you're talking to girls.
Ferris
Code switch.
David Dobrik
Yeah, no, you're right. No, no, I'm still, like.
Ferris
I get more gentle. I'm obviously not. Yeah, I'm not.
David Dobrik
Yeah.
Ferris
I won't even call Nelly a bitch around a girl because thank God, you.
Dave
Know, you have date coming up this week.
David Dobrik
What?
Dave
You have, like, a potential date or anything? I don't know. Something tells me, like, all this stuff.
Ferris
You'Re saying, it's just phony. It's just.
Dave
Yeah, there's like. You literally probably have some. A date, like, lined up this week.
David Dobrik
Do you? Maybe.
Ferris
Yeah, possibly.
David Dobrik
I knew it.
Ferris
I knew it.
David Dobrik
No, no, no.
Dave
Hey, baby.
David Dobrik
I don't know.
Dave
It's Davey.
David Dobrik
That sounds toxic.
Dave
Hey, girl, it's me, the real guy, Davey Wavy.
David Dobrik
I don't know. I'm in no rush.
Natalie
Crazy Davey.
David Dobrik
And you know how people say, like, it comes when you. When you're not, like, expecting it or whatever, when you're not looking for it.
Natalie
That's how I feel right now, and I'm just getting it in abundance.
David Dobrik
Really.
Natalie
Yeah.
David Dobrik
Well, I'm actually not looking forward. I'm not even trying to. I'm not even trying to trick the universe. I'm genuinely not even looking for.
Ferris
I'm not looking for it.
Dave
I don't want it.
David Dobrik
It's not a porch.
Natalie
I'm excited. I'm so excited. I'm meeting this guy in two weeks.
Dave
Yeah. Where?
Natalie
I don't want to say where because if he ever listens to this, I just don't want him to know that it's him. But I've been like. I've been talking about this man, fucking climb this, man.
David Dobrik
Like a tree?
Natalie
No, not like that.
David Dobrik
You know, orangutans are the biggest mammals that live in trees.
Dave
Really?
David Dobrik
Yeah. All right, back to you, Natalie.
Dave
What does this have to do with Natalie? Well, anyways, Natalie looks like an orangutan.
Ferris
Exactly.
Natalie
Natalie's a gorilla. No, but I've been, like. I've been, like, manifesting.
Ferris
Scratching your tit?
Dave
No, she's scratching the side of her.
Ferris
Arm as she said Natalie's a gorilla.
David Dobrik
She just started scratching her boob. I was like, okay.
Ferris
She's really into character.
Natalie
Anyways, I'm gonna be. I'm gonna see him in, like, two weeks, and I'm really excited about it and.
Dave
Did he ask you out?
Natalie
He didn't ask me out, but he's.
Dave
Like, what is with guys?
David Dobrik
No, no, no. This is.
Natalie
So this guy's someone that we, like, do business with at the same time.
Dave
Okay.
David Dobrik
This guy's like. Like, he's big in, like, this world.
Ferris
Sure.
David Dobrik
So he's probably. He's.
Natalie
He invited me to an event that he's, like, hosting.
Dave
Okay.
Natalie
And so. And, like, he's also just been texting me on the side or whatever. We were texting, and then he also invited me to the event in two weeks, so I'll get to, like, see him in person.
David Dobrik
Okay.
Natalie
And he's, like, excited about, like, me coming to the event or whatever, so we'll see how it goes. But, like, I've very, very loosely. Like, we've known each other. We've never interacted with each other. Like, I do not know him really at all outside of just, like, social media stuff.
Dave
Okay. And.
Natalie
But I'm excited because I've been, like. I feel like I've been manifesting it for so long.
David Dobrik
She's been talking about this guy for a really long time.
Natalie
Yeah. And. Yeah. Yeah, he's.
David Dobrik
And he's like. He does well.
Ferris
Like, he owns, like, a business. He crushes.
Dave
Okay.
Ferris
My only.
David Dobrik
My only issue is, and this is why Natalie and I have been talking.
Ferris
About all this a lot, is he's.
David Dobrik
If there's anybody tapped into the scene.
Natalie
He'S very in the scene, it's him.
David Dobrik
So I'm just like. Just.
Ferris
Natalie, just be careful. Like, you're playing with our people here.
David Dobrik
You know, our little corner. It's fucked.
Ferris
It's eternal.
Dave
Maybe he's looking to get out of the scene.
David Dobrik
Maybe. Maybe he's moving to Iowa.
Natalie
He doesn't live in LA anyway. But he is very much in this, like, his work. His entire business is involved in the scene, he knows everybody, blah, blah. Anyways, so, yeah. Tbd. We'll see how that goes.
Ferris
So that. That's gonna be a really big thing. Really, really exciting.
Natalie
Yeah, I'm excited.
Dave
How is New Mexico?
Ferris
Oh, my God.
Natalie
The time of our lives.
David Dobrik
And we owe it all to Jonah.
Dave
Where'd you stay?
David Dobrik
So we went to go see.
Ferris
So Jonah's shooting a movie. He's shooting with a really big actor.
Dave
Yeah.
Ferris
Who maybe you'll see in the next vlog. Maybe we're gonna tease who it is.
Dave
Sure.
David Dobrik
I mean, dude, I'm actually, like, so.
Ferris
Proud of this guy. It's kind of crazy. It's crazy.
David Dobrik
Like, I show. Okay. So I showed Zayn some scenes from the movie. Not even scenes. It's just me recording the scenes.
Dave
Yeah.
Ferris
Zane's just like. I literally have goosebumps. And, like, I'm, like, so happy for him.
Dave
Oh, that's nice.
Ferris
Because it's like.
David Dobrik
I mean, he willed.
Ferris
It will never be.
David Dobrik
We'll never be able to paint the.
Ferris
Picture for people because they don't know Jonah.
David Dobrik
Right.
Ferris
And he's so extremely. I think they get it maybe, but he's so annoying. Obnoxious.
David Dobrik
He's just annoying.
Ferris
And I'm not. Okay, so there was a prank we did back in the day where he got this fake movie role, and that 100 stemmed from the greatest biggest ego of all time. Like, it was like, we.
David Dobrik
I wanted to put this guy in.
Ferris
Place so bad because all he would.
David Dobrik
Talk about is how he's. He's not an influencer. He's so much bigger and better. He's an actor.
Ferris
Blah, blah, blah. This is a while ago.
David Dobrik
He doesn't talk like that anymore.
Dave
Yeah.
David Dobrik
But now all he does is talk.
Ferris
About movies and films.
David Dobrik
And there's.
Ferris
There's a. About him being in a movie, being.
David Dobrik
A big actor one day.
Ferris
And there's a way to talk about that.
David Dobrik
Totally. Which is endearing. But he does it in a way where none of us believe him anymore. Right, Right.
Ferris
Like, it's gotten to the point where.
David Dobrik
It'S just like, what he's talking about is fugazi.
Ferris
Like, it's not.
Dave
Well, there were a lot of times where it'd be like, I'm starting shooting next month, and it wouldn't happen.
Ferris
Yeah.
David Dobrik
For years when we had the Discovery show.
Dave
Yes.
David Dobrik
So we. Five years ago, we had a Discovery show five years ago.
Dave
Yeah.
David Dobrik
Yeah. The show is incredible. So it had, like, what, a $700,000 per episode? An insane budget. $700,000 per episode. So like, not only were my friends getting paid, but everyone was getting first class seats, best hotel rooms. It was the best setup to visit all. All these fun countries around the world that we got to choose.
Dave
Yeah.
David Dobrik
We were like, we want to go to South Africa. So the show's like, here's 700 grand. And they planned all of it, and we got to go and make a South Africa vlog. And they made an episode. And then Jonah, like, is like, we have three more countries left, and we're planning it. And he's like, I can't do it. Like, I can't do it. I have to focus on my movie. We start shooting next week. I can't go to this. I can't do this show. And I'm like, jonah, this is, like, first of all, the most traditional opportunity we've ever had in our lives. Like, all you do is talk about wanting to be traditional and not wanting to be on the Internet. And you finally had this opportunity to be on, like, Discovery. Whatever. It's like, it's very mainstream, and you're saying no to it. And then the movie never started fucking shooting. It's been five years. It's been five years since the Discovery show, and it fi. And the movie finally started shooting two weeks ago, and it's just like, now. Think about that. But think about every week Jonah's coming up to you and saying that his movie's shooting the next month.
Dave
Right.
Ferris
Right.
David Dobrik
Every single month for. For maybe eight years. I don't know how long it was. So, yes, it gets fucking, like, it gets exhausting, and you stop believing in him. And, like, it's just, like. It's just a joke and you just tune it out. But then when you actually. That was a lot of negative just to get to the positive. Yeah, but. But then when you actually see him doing it, it's actually happening. He's actually acting with this guy that's like, such a perfect pair for him. Yeah, it's fucking it. I. I mean, I was there and I was standing on the side, and I was just like. They did a scene together and I was like, wow.
Dave
Wow.
David Dobrik
And I don't get impressed by anything anymore.
Dave
No, you don't.
David Dobrik
And I was just like, wow, this is so fucking insane. It's actually happening. They're actually doing this together. I was fucking shocked.
Dave
That's a lesson for everybody out there, man. Just fucking keep going and just be delusional. Be delusional until it comes true. Anything happens.
Ferris
Yes. Yes, 100%.
Dave
That is, you know, that's Just a great lesson. He made it happen. He willed it.
Ferris
No.
David Dobrik
100% he did.
Ferris
But still, like, mind you, how you. You know, you may push away people from doing that, so don't necessarily do.
David Dobrik
It as hard as he did.
Ferris
But, yes, he should have internalized all those thoughts. And he did. I mean, he just. He was very extroverted up in the morning.
Dave
He does manifestation tapes. He does all that.
Ferris
I mean, the king of manifesting.
Dave
Yeah.
Ferris
And, like, everybody that's on there is, like, for him, the actor. The actor that was there saw the prank we pulled on him.
Dave
Yeah.
Ferris
Seven years ago. And he's like, he. This is a full circle. Like, he manifested this. Like, it's kind of fucking crazy. It is kind of insane. So.
Dave
What a story.
Ferris
I can't be more happy for him. Like, it's like, dude, it's fucking insane. I really hope this movie does well. I was. There was a scene where he has to cry.
David Dobrik
Yeah.
Ferris
And I was. It was in. In, like, a hospital. And I was sitting outside with, like, headphones, listening.
Dave
Yeah.
Ferris
And I'm just hearing Jonah cry. And I'm just like, oh, my God. I can't believe this is happening. He's, like, acting and it's like. And the actor he's working with is so great because he's, like, giving him so many tips. Like, it's the perfect guy to be in this movie with.
Dave
Wow.
Ferris
Yeah.
Dave
Damn.
Ferris
And he gave him a high praise. The actor. Actor told him that he reminds him of a young Jonah Hill.
Dave
Wow.
David Dobrik
Yeah.
Ferris
It's kind of crazy coming from that actor, too. Is like, whoa.
Dave
Damn. Wow. We're getting Taylor on the pod. And Naveen.
Ferris
Okay, friends, Taylor just walked into the.
David Dobrik
Room and she said, I could squash the beef with you on the pod.
Ferris
I didn't even know we had beef. All right, hit it.
Taylor
Well, you called me, and then you were eating your Taco Bell when you were out of town this past weekend. And he told me that we could finish the conversation later.
Ferris
Oh, what was the conversation about?
Taylor
Well, in my perspective. So the other day, guys, I got a little frustrated with David.
Ferris
Oh, this is about camping?
Taylor
So this is my problem. Exactly this. He thinks it's about camping.
Dave
Okay. And for the audience, camping is. You had to clean up a major stuff.
Taylor
Oh, no, no. It's not even that, Jay. We're past that. We squashed. We squashed that.
Dave
What was the beef about camping?
Ferris
Well, what's our tiff. No, let's make it clear. What's the new. What's the new tiff.
Taylor
The new tiff is that you said, I am just here for vibes.
Ferris
No, I said, you shouldn't get offended when I say you're here for vibes.
Natalie
Well, we.
Taylor
Yeah, this is what the point we covered, but we didn't finish.
Dave
But I'd be thrilled if David ever said that about me.
David Dobrik
That's exactly what I said to her.
Dave
If David said, oh, we'll keep Jay around for the vibes, I'd be like, huh, that's amazing. But I know.
David Dobrik
I know.
Dave
I'm the worst vibes.
David Dobrik
So Taylor feels like she's like. Taylor feels like she should be doing more work or whatever. Isn't that what you feel like?
Taylor
No, I feel like I do a lot of work.
David Dobrik
I actually don't really know what you're saying.
Dave
Back to the Runway.
David Dobrik
Okay.
Ferris
Yeah.
David Dobrik
Let's try again.
Dave
We're bringing you back in, Dave.
Taylor
That brings me to my next problem. So a lot of things that you.
David Dobrik
Don'T see, like, actually, you're working behind the scenes. Yes.
Taylor
And I have, like, I have multiple people, like, vouching for me, but I.
David Dobrik
Have people vouching the opposite way.
Taylor
Oh, really?
David Dobrik
But I think it's just, like, what people say to your face and what people don't say to your face, vice versa.
Dave
I actually sound like, don't think that's true right now. It's just matter of fact. It's like, what people say to your face. But it's like I hear my ears in the ground, and people just aren't brave enough to tell you.
David Dobrik
I'm just like, obviously, people say no. Like, I'm saying they're bullshitting me too. And I realize we're both just getting fake things.
Dave
Well, I think Taylor. Taylor. David, you said she's here for vibes, and Tay is saying I do more than just vibes. Is that right?
Taylor
I'm saying, of course I bring the vibes. But there's. There's days. There's days like yesterday where it's like, okay, what really should I be doing?
David Dobrik
Right?
Taylor
Because it's, like, a slow day, David's laying on the couch. It's like. Then there's days and weekends and, like, when you're having a conversation, you're on three meeting calls, and we haven't done anything, and I'm waiting here till 8pm to, like, I don't know, be vibes.
David Dobrik
You do realize you don't ever have to work past, like, 5 or 6pm that is your choice why you're here so late.
Taylor
I agree.
David Dobrik
But you do realize that you stay here late and we actually try to send you home, but you refuse. I mean, tell me, am I right?
Taylor
Okay.
David Dobrik
I mean, am I right?
Taylor
Yeah, but we're not twisting this the wrong way. There's a lot of things.
David Dobrik
Right, right, right. So, okay, so she's saying two things can be right, two things can be true. You like working here.
Taylor
Of course you like being here. I'm complimented that. Now I know what you mean by bringing the vibes.
Dave
Oh, nice.
Taylor
But at the time.
David Dobrik
Yeah, yeah. So she originally, she's just like. She got offended. Okay. So this is how it started. Taylor is like head of Snapchat stuff and vibes. That's what I say she's. She does here.
Dave
Okay, okay.
David Dobrik
Okay. I think sometimes she feels like she needs a greater purpose.
Dave
Okay.
David Dobrik
Which I totally understand, because a person should feel that. And then it's. The fight started with. The fight started with she had to clean up something at the house. And I was like, oh, I'm sorry that you have to do some work today. And then she got. Excuse me. She got mad. I shouldn't have said that. I was obviously being snippy.
Ferris
Sure.
Taylor
Well, you said you can't just always bring the vibes. And I was like, what? I do a lot more than that.
David Dobrik
And I only said that because. Because she. I can. Normally she gets offended when I say she brings the vibes. Yeah, because of. Because, yeah, she wants, like, a bigger purpose. But then I explained to her, I'm like, listen, anybody can do the other parts of your job. Anybody can make food. Anybody could set up a bit. Anybody can strike down a bit.
Dave
Right.
David Dobrik
Anybody can move this to their A to Z, drive me to the airport. But to bring the vibes is. I mean, especially with me, is very tough. One in a million.
Dave
Sure.
David Dobrik
Right.
Dave
Okay.
Taylor
So of course I got frustrated after he said, well, you can't just always bring the vibes.
Natalie
So I.
Taylor
Of course, we didn't have this conversation until he explained to me a few days later that how much value is in David's vibes. And so I appreciate that.
David Dobrik
Like, Natalie will get mad at John. Yeah.
Dave
Does Natalie bring the vibes?
David Dobrik
Fuck no. She brings the vibes. She does.
Dave
Yeah.
David Dobrik
Like, in a different way.
Dave
Okay.
David Dobrik
And to be honest, majority of my hires are vibe hires. Like, I don't really. I don't hire. Do you think I hired Ilya to run Dobriks and Zela because he was the smartest in our school? I've no dude that had like a 2.7Gpa, arguably one of the dumbest kids in our high school.
Ferris
But is he one of the.
David Dobrik
Was he one of the funnest kids in high school?
Dave
Yeah.
David Dobrik
If not the funnest kid in school, sure. 100%. I don't hire people based on their merits. I don't hire people because I believe that they'll go far in the business world. I hire them because I want to hang out.
Dave
Sure.
David Dobrik
Yeah.
Dave
Sam Altman. Same way.
Sponsor Voice 2
So Zuckerberg.
David Dobrik
Actually, Elon. Oh, okay. Fuck with me.
Taylor
And then I put into perspective.
Ferris
People on Shark Tank. Yo. I know you want 25% of business.
David Dobrik
But how fast can you chug a beer?
Taylor
No, I put into perspective, like, me the first day that I was, like, working for or.
Natalie
Yeah.
Taylor
Working for David or the first year that I was hired. And it is truly impossible to be Vibes.
Dave
No, you are Vibes, you know? Highly. David speaks of you when you're not around. He literally.
Taylor
I know.
Dave
I just wish sometimes. Sometimes everything will be wrong and he'll be yelling at all of us, and then he'll be like, I just wish Taylor was here. Where's Taylor? Taylor's the only one I like. He literally hear him say that, like, so many times lately, too.
Taylor
That's why I stay. That's why I. That's. It's, you know, my decision to be here 24 8. I will agree with that.
David Dobrik
Is. What do you want more of? Do you want me to.
Taylor
No, no, I just want.
David Dobrik
What do you want from me?
Ferris
How can I. I just want you.
Taylor
To acknowledge that there is more than vibes.
David Dobrik
Yeah. 100%.
Ferris
You do.
David Dobrik
No, you do more than vibes.
Taylor
But I cook, I clean.
David Dobrik
Yeah.
Ferris
No, no, no, no.
David Dobrik
You crush those, and you do them with love. And I'm always so impressed with how you put things together.
Taylor
And then I'm like, you know, I cook, I clean. Yeah. Like, there's a lot more, you know, when there's the helping hand in terms.
Dave
Of doing more, too. I don't think there's a better job than doing Snapchat. That's, like, a really important job.
David Dobrik
No, no. Yeah. And I always say that. I was like, this is, like, majority of our income.
Dave
That's what I was gonna say.
David Dobrik
I know. I know it feels. Yeah, I know it feels goofy. Cause we're reviewing an RC airplane I just bought off TikTok shop for $125. But, like, believe it or not, it is the majority of our income. So, like.
Dave
Yeah.
David Dobrik
So I don't know.
Dave
Look at it that way.
Taylor
Right? It was just in the moment.
David Dobrik
More money than Natalie.
Dave
Yeah.
David Dobrik
So, yeah, okay.
Taylor
I just wanted to squash the beef by saying nice. I understand the value in David's vibes, and at the time, it made me angry because I wasn't thinking in, like, from a David's brain perspective.
David Dobrik
Oh, so. Oh, you're squashing the beef by almost by agreeing with me. I didn't even realize this. I was being defensive here for no reason.
Taylor
Well, I'm sort of agreeing with you, but I'm also saying don't forget about the other things that I do.
David Dobrik
Right. Okay, okay. But you've backtracked a little bit. Now you're more on my side than you were before.
Taylor
No. Well, it did hurt my feelings, but I'm saying that my feelings are no longer hurt because I understand how much value you hold in vibes.
Ferris
Okay. Oh, there you go.
David Dobrik
Wow.
Dave
What a happy ending.
David Dobrik
Well, yeah.
Dave
It is getting to be the end of the year. We need to squash all our beefs.
David Dobrik
Well, good job, Tay.
Taylor
But it was your tone that you said it in, that you can't just always bring the vibes.
David Dobrik
Well, yeah, I know. I was definitely trying to get under your skin because you're frustrating me.
Taylor
Yeah, but you can't get under your skin.
David Dobrik
You know why? Because you got drunk. And when you're drunk, it's. It's very. It's not fun.
Taylor
He. Okay, okay, we'll squash it.
David Dobrik
Okay, okay, we'll squash it. I don't want to get into it either.
Taylor
John's working the other.
David Dobrik
Yeah, John's working right now.
Dave
How is John working out as your assistant, Tay?
Taylor
Oh, he's not.
Dave
He's just your new hand.
Taylor
My new. Oh, I love. I love John.
David Dobrik
Okay, so John argued today that he has. So John is. John is our friend who. We also hired another guy when Natalie, like, tells him to do things and he doesn't do it. I have to tell Natalie. I'm like, nat, he's not here to work.
Dave
Sure, sure. He's not a real person.
Taylor
I will say it's so nice having John around. Cause he actually just, like, he brings the vibe in.
Ferris
That's how Taylor discovered that.
David Dobrik
No.
Taylor
Yeah, he just. He doesn't really, like, complain much. He'll just be like. He'll be like, all right, let's go.
David Dobrik
Cause he doesn't do anything. I'll be like, jon, can you.
Ferris
Can you.
Taylor
And you really have to tell him, like, what to do.
David Dobrik
You know, I told him, hey, in the morning, can you put all the Kids Choice Awards back on the shelf?
Dave
Yeah.
David Dobrik
And John never does anything I ever ask him. Like, it's 100% of the time. He always forgets. So I looked at Alex, and I go, alex, you see what I just told John? And Alex goes, noted. You want him to put the Kids Choice Awards back on the shelf in front of John? Does this in front of John, this whole thing. And then I come in, next morning, I walk downstairs. I mean, I see John, like, 3 or 4pm Kids Choice Awards, not on the shelf.
Dave
Oh, my God.
David Dobrik
I'm like, john, where are the Kids Choice Awards? And he goes, you canceled the party. And I go, that has nothing to do with anything. Why did you combine those two things?
Dave
Right?
David Dobrik
Like, it had nothing to do with anything, but they just need to go back to where they belong. Yeah, but, like, that's how he does it. He'll, like, take an excuse and he'll be like, do something. Yeah. Like, it'll be like, john, I need you to. I need you to wash these. These sheets. And then I'll ask him to go see Frankenstein in theaters. And he'll be like, we're gonna go see Frankenstein later. It'll make no sense. There'll be no connection. Frankenstein's in six hours, but for some reason, I don't know. So. Yeah, so John's. John's pretty interesting working here too. John works two jobs. He works for me, and he works for Ilya.
Dave
Okay.
David Dobrik
Ilya. He does the podcast with. And Ilya has now instructed him to try to lose weight again.
Dave
Okay.
David Dobrik
Part of the Zeala Challenge. So today we were having, like, a meeting, like, the company meeting, and John was sitting there, and we were talking about hours of working. And Natalie's like, well, you do play pickleball for six hours a day. He played three hours this morning, and he's playing right now as we're recording the pod. And John's like. And John's like, that's work for me.
Dave
Why does that work?
David Dobrik
Because he's losing weight. Oh, so damn. So now we're not allowed to bother him when he's playing pickleball.
Dave
Damn. People got it good around here.
David Dobrik
Yeah, it's pretty.
Dave
People got it really good.
Ferris
No, it's incredible.
Dave
Unbelievable.
Ferris
It's one of the best places ever.
Taylor
Wait, sorry. That was my favorite line in this argument, David. When David said, I'm here for vibes, John goes, oh, man, we can get.
Natalie
Paid to do that.
Ferris
Everybody around Taylor thought the vibes thing was great. It's like, you always want what you don't have.
Dave
Will you be hiring any Anybody else?
Natalie
Yes.
Dave
Really?
David Dobrik
Yes. Now real people that's chiming in. Nat says no more vibe hires.
Dave
Sorry, any more vibe hires coming? That's all I care about.
Natalie
No more vibes. We are maxed out on friend capacity here.
David Dobrik
Yeah, that is true.
Ferris
We've hired too many people.
Natalie
But. Yeah. What? No, no.
David Dobrik
We've hired too many people to do nothing.
Dave
Right, right.
David Dobrik
Right is the way. So now we need to start.
Ferris
Yeah, we need to start doing it for real now.
Dave
You're going to have to have awkward conversations with people that you don't know around the house.
Ferris
No, no, not really. Like, we have this girl that works with us. Her name's Brooke and she works till like 6pm she just leaves.
David Dobrik
Yeah. Okay.
Dave
Brooke is not a vibe.
Ferris
I know that doesn't sound crazy to anybody listening to the pod, but it's.
David Dobrik
So crazy to us because every time she leaves, fucking, she leaves that 602.
Dave
Yeah.
David Dobrik
On the dot.
Dave
Okay.
David Dobrik
Does not care what's going on. Leaves, leaves. DiCaprio could be sitting on the couch. She's like, I'm out 6:02, I'm clocking out. But nobody does that here. But like, that's just. That's just the way she wants to live life. Which is awesome.
Dave
Yeah.
David Dobrik
But it's so funny because. No, but like, you know what I mean.
Dave
Yeah.
Natalie
She has.
David Dobrik
Taylor's here watching Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter till 11:30. But she's just like, I'm out. And that. I think that's really cool. That's like our first person that like has a separate life that has actual work life, balance.
Natalie
Yeah.
David Dobrik
Everyone else here suffers with it because.
Dave
Did Brooke get drunk at the Halloween party?
David Dobrik
Zane always fucking targets Brooke when he's out. Jerky. Because I think Zayn always wants everyone to have fun.
Ferris
Sure.
David Dobrik
For some reason Zane's just like, brooke, it's time to let loose. Let's go. And they always take so many shots.
Dave
Really?
David Dobrik
Yeah. And Brooke, at the last Halloween or.
Natalie
No, what was it at your birthday party?
David Dobrik
At my birthday she was like, dave, let's take a shot. Which is crazy for her to say. And I was like, I'm good. And then she came up to me again and she was like, david, let's take a shot. Wait, should we get her in? Yes, she here.
Dave
She left.
Natalie
It's 6:02. She's gone.
David Dobrik
Should we get her 603. This is also dangerous territory because this is how things happen.
Dave
Yeah. Now she's going to be going to the Marvel movie with you.
David Dobrik
No, like you include someone in a bit and then it's fucking.
Dave
Yeah, it's over.
David Dobrik
Yeah. We have Brooke here.
Natalie
Hey, guys.
Ferris
Brooke.
Dave
Brooke. There's $1,800 missing.
Brooke
Oh, I don't know anything about that.
Taylor
That's good.
Ferris
She doesn't want to snitch on Natalie.
David Dobrik
I know. Now, we are talking about how long have you been working here?
Brooke
I've been working here for like three and a half years now.
David Dobrik
Wow. Which is crazy. And successfully. I've never put her on camera or anything. Wow. We were just talking about how everyone here has this thing where they, like, the work life is. You can attest to this. Like, the work and the life is like, very mixed. No. Or like.
Natalie
Like there's zero work life balance. Typically, yeah, there's zero work life balance.
Brooke
But I feel like I've, like, managed to kind of do it.
David Dobrik
That's why we brought you in, because you're the only person that leaves on.
Ferris
Leaves at 6pm on the dock.
Dave
Are you writing novels at night?
Brooke
Yeah, I'm writing a biography.
Dave
That's not at least a preference.
David Dobrik
No, but it is like, you're the. You're the only person that's done it successfully.
Natalie
Yeah.
Brooke
I think, like, if you ask anyone else in my life, though, they would say I have not done it successfully.
Taylor
Successfully.
Brooke
Like, there's definitely weird hours for sure, but I'm the only one here that actually, like, has hours. Like, I will, like, leave if I can. Everyone else just like, sits and stays out to like 10, like 10pm at night.
Natalie
I don't know.
David Dobrik
Are you ever like, bam, I wish I was chilling till 10pm or are.
Ferris
You always like, get me the fuck out of here?
Taylor
Depends.
Brooke
I feel like I have like, my own schedule outside. Like, you guys all kind of live in this area. I live somewhere else.
David Dobrik
Like, you have like a different life.
Brooke
Yeah, yeah, I have like a life outside side of it. Yeah. You guys are all just like.
David Dobrik
No. 100% you do. That's why it's, like, really interesting. Yeah, yeah. We were just talking about how, like, when Taylor first started working here, it was very much like she was working here, but then it slowly got like she wasn't working here and she was just like, hanging out. And then now, I mean, Taylor.
Taylor
But wait, you keep referring to like, multiple people, but, like, we are the only two people who didn't grow up with you that work here other than, like, Ferris.
David Dobrik
Well, I'm talking about, like, Bella too. Emma is now dating Ilya.
Ferris
I mean, it's the list.
David Dobrik
The list does kind of go on. Like, it is. Like, it is very much like. Like, everyone just, like, ends up hanging out here at the house. Yeah. Congratulations, Brooke.
Ferris
That's all.
Natalie
Wow.
Brooke
Great to be on the podcast. Nice to meet everyone.
Dave
Good luck with the novel.
Ferris
Good luck with the book. All right, guys, that's all the time we have for today's podcast. Thank you for joining us. Naveed, Taylor, Jason, Brooke, maybe even John. I don't even remember who walked into this room. We'll see you guys later. Bye.
Dave
Bye.
Episode: Never Hire Your Friends
Date: November 13, 2025
This episode dives humorously and candidly into the blurred lines between friendships and work within David Dobrik’s circle, discussing how hiring friends impacts business, daily life, and personal relationships. The gang also digresses into pop culture, love in LA, their current social lives, and reflects on their distinctive work environment, all delivered in the signature fast-paced, self-deprecating, and irreverent VIEWS style.

On Ferrari as a dating magnet:
“I’ve gotten hit up so much more since I got the Ferrari.” – Natalie (15:56)
On hiring for vibes over skill:
“Do you think I hired Ilya to run Dobriks and Zela because he was the smartest in our school?… I don’t hire people because I believe that they’ll go far in the business world. I hire them because I want to hang out.” – David (35:10, 35:14)
Taylor defends her position:
“Of course I bring the vibes. But there are days when it’s like, okay, what really should I be doing?” – Taylor (31:57)
On unique work environment:
“People got it really good around here.” – Dave (41:07)
Jonah’s perseverance:
“He made it happen. He willed it.” – Dave (28:15)

This episode is a quintessential inside look into the VIEWS ecosystem: funny, chaotic, revealing, and ultimately anchored in real friendship dynamics and modern young adult dilemmas.
