Vice President JD Vance torched Democrats for “cowardice” after the State of the Union while launching a sweeping anti-fraud crackdown, and announcing bombshell claims with Dr. Mehmet Oz. Meanwhile, Sen. John Thune pushes a high-stakes SAVE Act vote that could reshape the 2026 election battlefield.

Yes, it is good to see everybody. The the State of the Union aftermath. What an amazing state of The Union. An hour and 50 minutes or so. Remember, the biggest thing I think that came from this was that moment where President Trump demands that if you love America, stand up and if you prefer illegal aliens, stay seated. And what did the Democrats do? Well, you know what they did. It was the most epic moment of this entire State of the Union. Watch this.
B
If you agree with this statement, then stand up and show your support.
A
The first duty of the American government
B
is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens.
A
Hello, Headphones. Standing. I'm standing. Standing for that one. I'm standing. You standing? I'm standing. It's so obvious. And then Trump gestures to the Democrats, swings the arm out. Is unbelievable. Unbelievable. Of course, that applause goes on for like 40 minutes. The president finally gets a chance to say something about these Democrats not standing. What is. Here he is. Hold up, hold up, hold up. Forget it. This clip doesn't even show it anyway. The point is that the applause goes for hours. And then finally the President's like, you know what? These guys can't even stand. You can't even stand now. They can't stand. So this thing. Let me. Here's some free advice for Republican candidates. Show this video. Just show it. You don't have to do anything else. President Trump pre packaged your entire campaign for you. Just air that video and you win the election. This is a cheat code to win the election. Do it. Do it. See, Democrats can't get off their asses. It's crazy. It's totally crazy. And look what they demonstrated is that they like Reagan elections. They also demonstrated that they're cowards. They demonstrated that they're cowards in the face of their radical base. And J.D. vance knows this. The Vice President of the United States reacted to this. And here's what he had to say yesterday. Watch.
C
Well, I saw a couple of things, Bill. First of all, obviously most Democrats didn't stand up or clap. And you know, what a shame that is, what a sad commentary that is on the Democratic Party that the idea that the American government should stand for American citizens, not illegal aliens, that shouldn't be controversial. But apparently it was to the Democrats. But I will say, Bill, something that I saw that probably most TV viewers was really the cowardice because there were a few Democrats who sort of politely clapped. They didn't want to stand up. I guess maybe they were worried about being primaried by the far left fringe of their party. But they were all looking around, they weren't actually saying, you know what, I'm going to stand and support this because this is a common sense, obvious statement. They were all looking around for cues from their colleagues because they didn't have the courage to stand on their own. And that more than anything, Bill, is the saddest commentary on the Democratic Party that not only will they not stand for the idea that Americans should come first, they won't even have the courage of their convictions. They lean on the person to their left and their right rather than actually have some conviction. That is, unfortunately, what's true about Democrats in Washington today.
A
That's what. That's what being a lemming means. They're a bunch of lemmings. They just. They just wait for somebody else to start walking off the cliff, and then they follow them. And it's like, crazy to me. And think about who's in charge of that group. It's Hakeem Jeffries. The guy's brain doesn't even operate. That guy was in charge of deciding whether or not they would stand. No offense, but I'm gonna freelance. If Hakeem Jeffries is my leader, my leader, I'm gonna make some decisions on my own. Like that guy. By the time he processes this, the State of the Union will be over. And it was record length. So, yeah, no, we're not gonna wait for Hakeem to stand up. Stand up for Americans. You couldn't even do that. You couldn't even do that. Yeah. These Democrats, man. I'll tell you what, I'm gonna get back to J.D. vance in a second, because J.D. vance got called out during the State of the Union by the president, said, this is the guy who's gonna tackle fraud. And we've got some updates on that immediately from the Vice President of the United States. But before we get there, a woman who's in one of the fraud states, who is very happy with the fraudsters, who in fact disrupted the State of the Union to protect the fraudsters. Ilhan freaking Omar. She went on CNN yesterday, and Wolf Blitzer intoned a question three times in a row. He said, you have any regrets? You have any regrets over disrupting the President of the United States? And here's how that went.
C
Watch the House Democratic Leader, Hakeem Jeffries
A
advised your caucus, the Democratic members, to
C
either skip the State of the Union
A
address or sit there in silence.
C
Should you have just boycotted the address?
A
And.
C
And do you think you violated the
A
guidelines set out by your own leader?
B
No, I think it was really unavoidable.
A
The president talked about protecting Americans, and I just had to remind him that his administration was responsible for killing two of my constituents, she said. In Minneapolis, many members of your Democratic Party criticized their Republican counterparts when they interrupted President Biden's State of the Union address. As a lot of us remember. Do you have any regrets at all
C
about the interaction we played between you
A
and President Trump just last night? I do not. And I think many people look at that moment when the President says, it is our responsibility, they should have thrown out Americans. And he does not acknowledge that fact that two Americans, two of my constituents, two of our neighbors were, were killed.
B
And it was important for.
A
For me to just remind the American time watch that the president and his administration was responsible for killing two American citizens. With hindsight, Congresswoman, do you think you
C
would have been better off boycotting the
A
speech like so many other Democratic lawmakers did, or did you do the right thing by actually showing up there? I brought four Minnesotans as guests for the Minnesota delegation. Thanks. All right. Thank you. To bear witness. So Wolf Blitzer tries three times with this chick, like, hey, you know, don't you think you should have been better behaved? No, I don't. I don't think I should have been better. You don't have any regrets whatsoever? No, I do not. I don't have any regrets. You know, don't you think maybe you should have skipped the whole State of the Union instead of showed up like an emotionally incontinent psychopath? I brought the Minnesotans with me. And then she kept saying, you heard her, kept saying something that was very, very dishonest. This thing. Oh, the Trump administration is just killing American citizens. Okay, you psycho. First of all, the weak and vicious minded people who take you seriously keep trying to assassinate good Americans. Scumbag. And when you say something like that, what she's leaving out is that in both of those cases that she's referring to Renee Good and Alex Preddy. Both of them were involved in assaults on law enforcement, in disobeying lawful orders to stop obstructing law enforcement. Their lives wouldn't be over if they hadn't made a series of terrible decisions. Egged on by Yohan Omar. The blood's on her hands. And she's sitting in the. In the Congress yelling at Trump that he killed people. The blood's on your hands, sweetheart. The blood's on your hands. And you shouldn't even be in Congress. They should have dragged her out. They should have done what they did to Al Green. Get the sergeant at arms, get her out of there, and then while they're at it, just bring her right to Denaturalization and get her the hell out of the country too, because she's completely out of control. At what point has she ever been an American representative? Has she ever been on your side? I don't remember once thinking, oh, yeah, she's, she's doing something for us. She's constantly trying to protect a fraud operation in Minnesota that's stealing, what, $20 billion at least from us. And that's why the President of the United States announced on Tuesday that He has placed J.D. vance in charge of tackling fraud nationwide. You know, J.D. vance being in charge of this fraud thing, it's not brand new information, but it is important that the President presented it to the world this week so that everybody else could find out about it. You and I knew about this. We saw the makings of this earlier this year as Remember, J.D. vance is the one who stepped out. He did a press conference and he announced, hey, we've got a new person coming to the Justice Department. They're going to report directly to the White House, not the Pam Bondi directly to the White House to tackle fraud. And I've got a hand in this. I'm kind of running the show here. And then President Trump steps out and says, that's right, J.D. vance is in charge of tackling this fraud in nationwide. And how much time did he waste? Well, let's see. None. He wasted none. He hit the ground running yesterday. Here he is confirming on television that yes, he's tackling fraud. And then later in the day they announced a huge freeze on government funding that's been going to fraudsters. First. His appearance on television yesterday morning. Watch as you look at this, go ahead and explain it to us because we want to understand what the job is. And what do you think the number is?
C
Well, I don't know what the top line number bill is and I think that's unfortunate that nobody has ever tried to take a systematic look at how much fraud there is in the federal government. How many illegal aliens are on Medicaid? We know that it's billions and billions of dollars that should go to American citizens. It's going to illegal aliens. How many fraudulent daycare centers have been set up where that money should go to American citizens and to help their kids get into childcare. Instead it's being stolen from them by illegal aliens in our country. How much has have government officials actually been complicit in this fraud? Because some of them have gotten wealthy or at the least, they've gotten campaign donations from the people who have gotten rich from that fraud. The story of the American economy in so many ways during the Biden administration, Bill, is that the American citizen was ripped off for people who shouldn't be here and by politicians who should have known better. And the Trump administration, the president has asked me to take a full, whole government approach to trying to understand that. And what does that mean, Bill? That means, first of all, the Department of Justice is going to be investigating and where possible, throwing fraudsters in prison. But it's also going to mean that Scott Besant and some of our friends at the Treasury Department, we're going to be looking at income tax records. We're going to be trying to understand how it is that the American people have been defrauded, how it is that people have used resources and programs that should go to American citizens instead have been going to fraudulent uses. There's a whole host of tools that we have that have never been used. And the President, I talked about this a couple of months ago and said, what if we just did everything that we could to stop the fraud that's being committed against the American taxpayer? The president said, great idea, let's do it. And we're going to work on that very aggressively over the next year.
A
I love it. And what you have here, what you have here is the executive branch at the very highest levels. The vice President of the United States is now overseeing this operation. And you hear J.D. vance there talking about the government officials who made this possible. We know something with certainty. We've seen the reporting on this, that we've got people like Tampon, Tim Walls, the attorney General, Keith Ellison in Minnesota, the mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Fry. They're all under FBI investigation right now. They're all under criminal investigation for the role that they played in enabling this fraud, obstructing law enforcement. And obviously, that's been some healthy leverage in getting Minnesota to cooperate with Tom Holman to start releasing illegals directly into the custody of ice. That's been a massive, massive piece on the board. It's been great. But what comes next? Do we see these guys prosecuted for what they've done? Keith Ellison's on tape telling the fraudsters that he's there to protect them. The fraudsters are saying, hey, we got to get these guys off our backs. It's crazy that the investigators are all over us. And he says, well, I'll tell you what, you donate to my campaign money buys you freedom, and all it takes is a phone call or two from the attorney general. And usually that's enough to scare him. Off. This is Keith Ellison caught on tape saying all of this. Now what you. Before I play the next clip, this is going to be of J.D. vance and Dr. Oz talking about how they're freezing all this funding that. That's been used for fraud. This is, you know, your money that's being stolen. I want to take you back a couple of days to a clip I played for you recently. This is a clip. It was a. An NBC clip. NBC did an interview a couple of years ago where they spoke to a fraudster, a guy. They covered his identity. They concealed it. They gave him the voice changer so he could say whatever he wanted without people recognizing who he is. And he announced. He's like, look, it is so easy to steal from the taxpayers. It's unbelievable you can get millions of dollars like that. Watch this clip. Watch that.
B
Doesn't surprise this man.
A
We'll call him Julio.
B
Because he wants to conceal his identity. Julio admits he knows a lot about stealing from Medicare because it was his
A
entire life for many years in Miami. Why Medicare fraud?
B
Like, why was that alluring to you as compared to other ways, other, maybe even illicit ways to make money?
A
It's easy.
B
Did someone teach you how to game the system?
A
A friend of mine, yeah. He teached me. One day he called me and says, look, I do this, this, this, this.
B
Are there a lot of people who are willing to break the law?
A
A lot of people. You'll be surprised. For money, they'll do anything.
B
Is there a lot of money to be made?
A
A lot of money. Millions of dollars to make. How much? Millions of dollars.
B
How did that stack up? The risk versus the reward?
A
Reward? It was excellent. The reward was excellent. Millions of dollars. Very easy to steal. Very easy to steal from the taxpayer. And there are no consequences? No. No consequences. None at all. That's the way this is operating. Yeah. We should do an interview with that guy. We should track him down. Producer Josh, get on that, will you? Track that guy down. Find. Find that dude. See if we can get him on the show. Be like, hey, are you still in the stealing business? All these years later? Yes, I am in the stealing business. I'm still doing it. Really? Sorry, website. My voice changer screwed up. Really? You're still in the stealing business? Absolutely. Business is very good. Tampon Tim Walls has given me so much of your money. Millions of dollars, still no. Billions. Now, actually, I. I have a helicopter that I fly to Tampon Tim Walls's house, and then he just gives me the money right there. It's a much Easier operation. It's unbelievable. Well, thank you so much for sitting down with us today. I appreciate that. I'm gonna pass all of this off to JD Vance so he can go after you. So, yeah, this is what we're dealing with, guys. This is. This is crazy. Here's. Here's J.D. vance and Dr. Oz announcing. Hey, you know all that money that we've been sending to places like Minnesota? Yeah. We're not doing that anymore. Here's cut four Watch.
C
We're announcing today that we have decided to temporary, temporarily halt certain amounts of Medicaid funding that are going to the state of Minnesota in order to ensure that the state of Minnesota takes its obligations seriously to be good stewards of the American people's tax money. Now, what is this going to mean? What this means is that, first of all, the providers on the ground in Minnesota have actually already been paid. The state has paid those providers the money. What we're doing is we are stopping the federal payments that will go to the state government until the state government takes in its obligations seriously to stop the fraud that's being perpetrated against the American taxpayer.
A
Stop the fraud. Now, how much money are we talking here? How much fraud has actually taken place? Well, Dr. Oz stepped up to the microphone and he dropped a bomb on the United States here about how much money is being stolen from us. Listen to Dr. Oz. We believe. Listen carefully. We are spending $300 billion a year in health care in this country and for fraudulent, abusive, or wasteful purposes. $300 billion. Let's put that in perspective. If we could reduce fraud by 5%, which is at $300 billion, we would take the trust fund that's going to take care of all of us as we get older, and we would allow it not to expire in five to six years. We would double its life expectancy. That's massively important. If you're going to trust the social safety net to be there for you, you deserve that. Social safety net. It's there. It's created. We're not going to let fraudsters steal it from you. Distiller CS Team I want to call them out. Kim Brandt, who's videoing me over there? Dan Brillman, Capri Snaps. Steph Carlton have worked tirelessly to put this together. They've been rooting out criminals all year long. I know as well what it's like. I visited all these areas personally, witnessed what it's like to see something you know is wrong and wonder why no one tried to fix it. It's infuriating. The vice president described very accurately exactly what you see on the ground. Yeah, hundreds of billions of dollars a year. But that's a brand new number from Dr. Oz. He said we're talking at least 3, 300 billion dollars a year being stolen from taxpayers. Let's stretch that out because sometimes in D.C. they like to stretch things out over a decade. Over 10 years. Over 10 years. Well, then, okay, that's 300 billion. That's $3 trillion every decade stolen from taxpayers. Could we use $3 trillion right about now? Well, yeah, when we're in $38 trillion in debt, we could definitely use 3 trillion back. That would go a long way. That's a meaningful chunk of that's, that's a mark. That's remarkable. All right, so what about the prosecutor? What about the guy who brings the charges? Well, got an update on that guy because he just stopped by the Senate yesterday. Gotta keep our eyes on this because, you know, it matters. More ahead on the more ahead on the program. Thank you for being here. Great audience, really appreciate you. Julio appreciates you. Yes, thank you for being here and thank you for all your money. You're welcome, Julio. We will catch you. All right, let me see. I've got a lot going on. All right, so what about the fraud prosecutor? Where is that guy? The President, the Vice President said that he was on the way. Well, we got an update on that as well. Yesterday, President Trump's fraud hunter, Colin McDonald, went and spoke to the Senate. He was doing some testimony yesterday, his confirmation hearing, speaking to senators about what he would do in this job, which is really, it's great that he's doing this because he'll again, he'll report directly to the White House. There's a brand new White House unit that is coming into place, this National Fraud Enforcement Division. And here's Eric Schmidt, the great Missouri senator, leaving the hearing yesterday, saying they had a great conversation, a great conversation with Colin McDonald and that he's about to bring a whole bunch of prosecutions. Watch.
C
Okay, just left a confirmation hearing for
A
the lawyer that's gonna be in charge
C
of prosecuting all this fraud that we've
A
seen, and certainly Minnesota. I think that's the tip of the iceberg.
C
Could be a trillion dollars a year of fraud that's happening in this country. I just think of the guy that's
A
working his tail off, swinging the hammer, driving the truck. He deserves better than that. So President Trump outlined a focus on that. Vice President Vance is going to be in charge of it, along with the federal prosecutors we need to prosecute and
D
then also have some tools on the
A
front end to make sure this stuff is that doesn't happen again. Great, great update. This is what I want. Give me these updates. Tell me, tell me what's going on. So the process right now underway to get this guy in place. Now, I will tell you that I saw some of the coverage of this hearing yesterday, and the types of questions that Democrats were asking were like, are you gonna do what the President tells you to do? The answer to that is quite obviously, yes, of course. I work for the American people. I work for the person that they put in charge. The President of the United States is the executive branc. None of you people are even familiar with the Constitution. This is the way it works. If the President tells the United States Department of Justice, stop everything. I want you prosecuting drug dealers, then they stop everything and they start going after drugs. That's the way this is supposed to work. The media and the left broadly, they act like this is some sort of tyrannical thing. It's not Tyrannical. The president is the guy who's in charge. Now, apparently in his confirmation hearing, he just kept repeating the same line as advised by his lawyers that he's going to follow the facts and apply the law in. Well, that would include listening to your boss, the President of the United States. So it's a perfectly fine answer for a Senate confirmation hearing, but what a ridiculous question. It's all this is scandal mongering is what it is. They're trying to create scandals where there are none. And they're trying to throw the brakes on this guy, stopping fraud. Imagine seeing fraud of this scale and then trying to figure out ways to stop this guy from getting the job. I'm beginning to think that you're in on it. You're in on it that you're protecting what Eric Schmidt just referred to as a trillion dollars in fraud going on in our country. So there's some meaningful updates there. All right, coming up in a few minutes, we've got Harmeet Dhillon joining us. She is another assistant attorney general. She handles the civil Rights division at the Justice Department. Man, she's a hero. She's a total hero. But first, I've got some updates for you on some things that the FBI is up to that I need you to know about. One, the FBI yesterday raided the Los Angeles school district. Have you heard about this? They rated the second biggest school district in the country specifically because they are going after the superintendent there, a guy called Alberto Carvalho. They raided his home and his office yesterday in Los Angeles. This is the Trump FBI led by Cash Patel has raided this left wing lunatic. And this guy really is a left wing lunatic. He's, he's a part of all sorts of anti ice activism and just garbage. The New York Times reported yesterday that the FBI raided the headquarters of the Los Angeles Unified School District and the home of its superintendent on Wednesday in an apparently widening, widening investigation into a $6 million deal between the nation's second largest school system and a failed artificial intelligence startup. Federal officials saying that the agency had executed a series of search warrants at the school district and at the home of the superintendent, Alberto Carvalho, and that the accompanying affidavits had been sealed by the court. Now, they're not elaborating on the target of the investigation, but a related FBI search at a home in Florida appeared to link the LA raids to something called All Here, which is a tech startup that had secured a contract with the school district for an AI chatbot before the company filed for bankruptcy. In 2024, the founder of All Here was later charged with fraud. The piece goes on to say that this is not the first time this guy's been in hot water. He also is in hot water in Florida and there's, there are allegations of self dealing that this guy was, you know, given his buddies contracts and it's very, it's all very suspicious. So is there corruption and fraud going on in California? Well, hell yeah, there definitely is. And so when we talk about fraud and JD Vance going after it, I would keep an eye on this. Now I'm going to again talk to Harmony Dylan coming up here in a few minutes, we'll ask her about this because we've got, simultaneously you've got the Civil Rights division suing the LA school district for racial prejudice in the school system. So they've got, there's, there's a lot happening all at once. We'll find out more, see what Harmeet can tell us coming up on this. But one more thing on the FBI, and this is a massive story. We're probably gonna have to dwell on it more in detail in the coming days. But this just broke overnight from Reuters. And this one involves the Biden era FBI and a discovery that Cash Patel has just made. Has just made. Check this out. Biden's FBI. Biden's FBI was spying on both Cash Patel and Susie Wiles and their phone records, including while Susie Wiles was the campaign manager for the new Trump campaign going into the 2024 election. I, I got to put the finest point I can on this. They were spying on Trump's campaign again. Again, the FBI subpoenaed Cash Patel and Susie Wiles phone records in 2022 and 2023 when both were private citizens, as part of a federal probe into then former President Donald Trump. Fox News has confirmed Patel is the current FBI director. Wiles is the White House Chief of staff. At least 10 FBI employees were just fired yesterday. According to Fox. Names were not given due to privacy reasons. The FBI Agents association later, quote, criticized the fire. Oh, shut up. The FBI Agents association condemns today's unlawful termination. They're just angry that Cash Patel is holding people accountable. So they caught people this, I mean, you and I can read between the lines here. They catch people involved on spying on Trump's campaign again. And the incoming FBI director, this guy obviously who is a part of holding the intelligence community accountable, the FBI accountable for his past sins. And you got FBI spying on these guys and people get canned. You get caught, you get canned. I mean this is. That's it. You're lucky. It's just a canning for now, these actions weaken the bureau, the agents association mindlessly says. Reuters first disclosed the subpoenas, which were issued during the Biden administration while special counsel Jack Smith was investigating Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election. Jack Smith, Jack Smith, the unconstitutional special counsel. Unconstitutional. Judge Eileen Cannon said, you're not even constitutionally appointed. Get the hell out of a courthouse. And then Jack Smith, what was he doing? He was spying on everybody. Raiding Mar? A Lago, spying on Trump's campaign, spying on Susie Wiles, it turns out, spying on Cash Patel, spying on sitting members of Congress. He just sat before Congress and like, you know, and acted like everything he was doing was on the up and up. You're spying on American citizens recklessly without a predicate. Smith ended up charging Trump in 2023 with multiple felony offenses. Yada, yada, yada. We know that. We know that story. So what we've learned, and then the Reuters piece lays this out, is they were spying on Susie Wiles, including from her time as the campaign manager. They gathered communications from her from that time. So, you know, this, this is like, you know, when they were spying on Carter Page, spying on the Trump campaign, sweeping up communications from the Trump campaign that Carter Page was involved in. It just, you know, it just keeps happening over and over. There's a detail in the Reuters story that really stands out, though, that I want to highlight with you. Apparently, Susie Wiles attorney knew that the FBI was spying on her phone records and didn't tell her. Do you find that interesting? Like, if you hired a lawyer and your lawyer knew that you were being spied upon, wouldn't your lawyer have a duty to tell you? What's that about? Who's that lawyer working for? Like, like, for real, like, who's that lawyer actually working for? Very interested in, in that. Anyway, the, the details are just developing here, but we've, we've got some, some FBI updates and Cash Patel apparently just canned a bunch of people for, for their behavior, for their spying, for their violation of civil liberties in the United States. Ma', am, great to have you back with us. Good to see you.
B
Thanks for having me, Vince. And before I forget, happy birthday.
A
Thank you very, very much. It's been an amazing week. Let me ask you about what you've been up to lately, because I keep seeing your name in headlines. You keep suing school districts across the country. What's happening? Why is it taking so long for schools to catch up with federal law here? Because it seems like you're going after school districts for ongoing racial discrimination and gender nonsense. Is that all still happening?
B
Oh, absolutely, Vincent. It's happening more than we can even possibly keep up. And why they're doing it is because they've been getting away with it for decades. And you know, in private practice, I tried to take on some of these cases and you're playing a game of whack a mole. You might settle with one school district, but then there are thousands of others. United States Department of Justice has the ability to really make examples out of these school districts. Some of the cases include a major case against Los Angeles Unified School District, which has for years, for decades actually been engaging in a kind of racial gerrymandering when it comes to allocating resources. If a school division of the school district has, excuse me, more than 30% white people in, gets less funding per student, which is crazy. And so this is a result of a private lawsuit that happened many years ago. And it's illegal to discriminate against people on the basis of their race for government benefits. And so we're going to put a stop to this in Los Angeles Unified School District, which by some counts is the largest school district in the United States. In Michigan, you mentioned gender. We're investigating under Title ix, three different school districts that are violating the rights of parents to know what sex education their children are being subjected to. I would call it sex indoctrination. Really not so much the birds and the bees education from when I was a kid. Today, students in the sixth grade, 11 and 12 year olds in Michigan schools are being subjected to LGBTQ and trans and other sexual indoctrination that parents aren't informed of properly to allow them the ability to opt out. And Supreme Court precedent has said that parents have that right to opt out. So we're enforcing that Supreme Court precedent in that case. And then of course, we have all these cases against colleges as well. You know, We've just sued UCLA for 80 page plus complaint for a litany of fairly heinous anti Semitic conduct that they've allowed to fester and be tolerated there for many years now. And people are coming out of the woodwork to give us more examples in UC system. And then we have other cases in the pipeline as well. Of course, we just sued Harvard last week for its persistent refusal to provide data to us, which we're entitled to. Department of justice is one of the many federal grant making agencies that gives money to Harvard, which last year received over $2.6 billion in federal funding. And each of the agencies, be it the NIH or the Department of Education, other aspects of HHS and doj, we all have a right to confirm whether Harvard is complying with federal law. And in my case, I'm particularly interested in whether they're complying with the lawsuit they lost at the Supreme Court, Students for Fair Admissions. And Harvard has been playing hide the ball with their data and refusing to provide us with the information we need to assess whether they're in compliance. Which of course begs the question, why are they doing that?
A
And so, yeah, when you lose a massive lawsuit before the United States Supreme Court, as they did, you would think that there would be some mechanism to make sure that they change course. And presumably that's your job. I mean, you're going in there to get the answer, but they're refusing to give it to you. They're engaged in a cover up of whether or not they're actually improving things. And finally, to put a final point on it, that they've stopped racial discrimination in admissions.
B
That's right. And in fact, even as I was preparing to file this lawsuit, troubling evidence came out in a report that I saw that showed that Harvard appears to have increased the number of Asians admitted in response to Students for Fair Admissions, but not whites. And again, that's a violation of the law. Harvard's discrimination policies go back decades. There was a time when Harvard blatantly discriminated against Jews. Now they're blatantly discriminating in recent history against Asians and whites. And I can't tell if they've stopped doing it or not because while they keep sending their emissaries to various people in the administration to try to reach a deal, they appear to be talking out of both sides of their mouths. Because to date, even though the President's certainly been willing to come to the table, they have simply refused to negotiate with us in good faith. And so we're forced to file this lawsuit. And there may be others.
A
Yeah, well, the best deal would be if they just followed the law. That's the perfect deal. Let me ask you about what your relationship is like when you talk to these institutions. Have you seen progress? Like you're talking about filing lawsuits against schools and institutions that are refusing to do the right thing? But is there ever times where you get in touch with an institution and you say, hey, we're concerned that you're engaged in racial prejudice, or we're concerned that you're engaged in this kind of, like, warped gender propaganda? Have you found that there are institutions who are changing course and going, you know what? We're gonna fix things?
B
Well, absolutely. So I'm gonna point first to the half a dozen or so institutions of the elite institutions that have reached settlements with the United States. I wanna really commend and call out Columbia University. They had a pretty horrific pattern and practice of anti Semitic and discriminatory conduct there, as well as DEI issues. And they came to the table with the United States. They didn't sue us. They negotiated in good faith. We reached a landmark settlement that included $200 million of penalties to the United States paid over three years. But also importantly, the largest antisemitism class action lawsuit settlement that the EEOC was ever able to obtain in history. I think it was $26 million for victims there, including professors, faculty, even janitors who had been subjected to mob interference there and just plain old discrimination. We also have had settlements I personally negotiated at Columbia, one with Linda McMahon as well as with Cornell. Reached a deal with Cornell, another excellent deal, Northwestern. We also have deals with Penn involving specifically Title IX issues in girls sports, women's sports, I should say, and Brown and others. And so I will also say that there have been other institutions where they can't. University of Virginia, my alma mater, although now that Abigail Spanberger is the governor, she seems very determined to derail that and other reforms that have been done in Virginia. Many of these institutions, I don't want to paint with too broad a brush, particularly the elite public institutions. They've been extremely forthcoming and willing to come to the table with us. And sometimes they hire private lawyers who help them go through their websites and their policies and practices and reform them. And then they come to my conference room and they show us their homework. Other times I look at something in the press or something that is in a complaint and I open up an investigation and I get the president and their lawyers and sometimes their board members who come to us and they make a presentation and they persuade me that actually the big picture is much less dire. And sometimes there are just one off artifacts that occur where an institution really has legitimately in good faith given out the order from the top down to make the necessary changes. But there's a recalcitrant dean somewhere or there's a page that got missed in the review and update of the websites. And we're not here to rake people over the coals. We're here to get the job done. And so honest mistakes like that, we get them corrected and we move on. But then you have UCLA and some UCLA faculty decided that instead of letting the university negotiate with us, which they wanted to, let's go get an injunction and prevent that. So, you know, right now there's an injunction out there that prevents the United States from negotiating on admissions issues with ucla. That's crazy. And we're, you know, we're going to be seeking a higher review of that. But meanwhile, this is a totally separate issue. The anti Semitism and employment that has occurred at UCLA and I believe other UC institutions is shocking and disappointing. Anyone can read our complaint. It's linked to our press release publicly. And so we've been focusing mainly on the elite institutions, but on a case by case basis where we see incidents that are below that tier, we're also looking at those. There's 6,000 institutions of higher learning events that get federal funding. So there's no way for us with the limited resources we have to go after all of them. But we hope to make examples out of some of the worst ones and we hope that the rest of them do the right thing.
A
Yeah, high profile cases, high profile cases get far reaching results. That makes a lot of sense to me. So here's something I'm interested in. So you mentioned a couple of institutions that have improved their practices, whether it's Brown or Northwestern or Cornell, which that's great news. But the left is looking at this going, they're doing something wrong and we need to hurt them for working with you and the Trump administration. Just this past week, Susan Rice sat down on a podcast, I believe with a former US Attorney, Preet Bharara, and was bragging about how when the left gets power again in the United States. We're not going to play by the old rules. We're going to go after these institutions who have done this, who have kind of bent the knee to Donald Trump. And I couldn't help but think of the mission that you're on here, Harmeet, which is that you're trying to get the institutions to stop using racial prejudice. You're stopping them from being anti Semitic, you're stopping them from gender propaganda. That's I'm pretty certain what Susan Rice is talking about. What do you make of a statement like that?
B
Well, I shudder to think about not playing by the old rules, because the old rules included indicting the president, included trying to disbar and disbarring lawyers who simply gave private legal advice to a client who didn't act on it, and spying on members of Congress and United States Senators by the Department of Justice. I mean, it's really. Those are the old rules. I mean, what are they going to do to us with their new rules? Chase us down and behead us in the streets? Who knows? But it's kind of sad, really. But I'll tell you, this is not a specter that is theoretical. Abigail Spanberger has already gone after all of the officials at University of Virginia who negotiated with us in good faith, and they did the right thing for the institution. They avoided economic catastrophe for uva, which is my law school alma mater, which receives, I think, more than Harvard because there's this big medical facility there, $3 billion approximately in federal funding, most of which going to the hospital facility for treatment and for research. And she forced all the board of visitors to resign who had participated in reaching a resolution with us. She forced the rector to resign. She's made threats about anyone who played ball with us, who was part of that. I mean, like, what's the end game there, Abigail? I mean, either University of Virginia is going to get federal funding, or it's going to be on the taxpayers of Virginia, which I don't know if they have a budget with the $3 billion they can come up with to plug that hole. And UVA is, of course, a jewel in the crown. If that's the same policy vis a vis all the educational institutions in Virginia. There is a load of pain coming for Virginia education.
A
Harmeet one more thing on schools and this racial prejudice stuff. We had a headline that came to us on Wednesday that the FBI had raided the headquarters of the LA Unified School District, as well as the home of the superintendent in la. I don't know if you know anything about it or if it's in any way connected to your work. Could you give us any comment on that subject?
B
I would just say it's not connected to the lawsuit that I filed, but I really can't comment further about what is going there in LA. But California in particular, where I lived for 25 years before joining the government has grossly bloated bureaucracies in general, but specifically, I would call the most influential player in all California elections, the school lobby. And so there's sick amounts of money that flow through the teachers union, and they really control who becomes the governor and all the constitutional offices and even members of Congress there. It's pretty shocking, the amount of power they have. And with that kind of power, and then you add the bureaucratic bloat that is endemic to California government, you have opportunities for corruption that are rife. And I suspect that that's what we're going to find out.
A
Well, the Trump administration, President Trump himself has not been shy about the fact that he said Minnesota is only the beginning. California is the epicenter of a lot of the fraud that needs to be tackled. And if that's a piece of this, then God bless them for going after it, because we really need to clean up this fraud in our country.
B
We absolutely do. And every. I mean, it's twofold. First of all, the taxpayer, it's deeply offensive. And second of all, they're stealing from the future of America by putting money in their pockets instead of into educating our children.
A
All right, a final question for you. The Save America act is being considered right now before the Congress. And one thing that I really, I've been saying a lot that I truly believe is that voting rights are a civil right. The ability to cast that ballot and to have your voice represented in your government is a civil right. I feel like Washington's routinely made that proclamation through the years, but suddenly Democrats are not making that proclamation because they don't want to see photo ID to vote, these types of things. Is it your view that the SAVE act should be considered a piece of civil rights legislation? And is it the kind of thing that Americans should be fighting for?
B
Well, 100%. In fact, it's already the responsibility of the Civil Rights Division to administer all of our federal election statutes, actually. So the Voting Rights act is under my umbrella, as is the National Voter Registration act, the Help America Vote act, the Unified Overseas and Military U ocava law that helps our overseas voters vote in our federal elections. All of that is under The Civil Rights Division. And in fact, you're correct. I mean, we do view it as a civil rights issue. This Civil Rights Division has filed 25 lawsuits. I mean, actually more than that. But it's 25 jurisdictions that have been sued by us to obtain their voter rolls or to deal with actual known issues in their voter rolls and investigate irregularities such as Minnesota's weirdo vouching program where one voter can vouch for the addresses of up to eight other voters or an unlimited number of so called voters if they're in an institution. This is crazy. And it certainly doesn't comply with our federal legal standards for voter registration. And so we're on that and we're looking at other cases as well. Vince.
A
All right, thank you, Harmeet Dhillon, really appreciate your efforts and your time. Today, again, the U.S. assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division. Thank you, thank you. Thank you for being in this administration and fighting for us. I appreciate you.
B
Thanks for having me.
A
There's Harmony. Dylan, thank you very much. She's just so good. All right, let's talk more about the SAVE act now. So as you hear from Harmony Dhillon, she says, yeah, this is a piece of civil rights legislation and I obviously enthusiastically agree it's the most important civil rights legislation to be considered this century in the United States Congress. And what is the likeliness that we get it passed? Well, you and I have been placing a lot of pressure on the Senate to finally do its job, that is show up to the floor and pass this thing with a simple majority vote. They can do it. If they face down a filibuster from Democrats, fine, let them run their mouths. But they can pass this with a simple majority. It's not really up for debate. Now, the establishment has been trying to debate it. They've been pretending like some rule change would be necessary. We got to go nuclear. You don't have to go nuclear. Stop lying to people. Stop lying. So we have some updates from yesterday. John Thune, the head of the Republicans in the Senate, he did a television appearance yesterday and he was trying to once again settle you down. He was trying to pat you on the head and suggest that, oh, don't you worry, we'll take care of this and we're going to have a vote. Yeah, but what kind of vote are you going to have if it's a show vote where you just demonstrate to me that Democrats don't want fair elections? I don't need to see that. I know that already. What would be the point of that? Here's John Thune yesterday, one of two videos. This is the first saying that don't you worry, I'm going to hold a show vote watch.
D
Well, we will put the Democrats on the record. And it's a stark contrast, Aisha. The Democrats even in the chamber last night, having to sit there and try and defend allowing noncitizens to vote in American elections, that is a losing proposition for them. So we will get a vote on it. We are right now in the middle of a government shutdown, so we've got to try and get the government opened up first. But in due time, we will have, we will get that up on the floor. We will have a vote on it. We will make sure that the Democrats are on the record. It is a stark contrast between Republicans and Democrats about how they want to handle elections in this country. And, and this is going to put them, I think, in a very difficult position. It's an issue. If I were running as a Democrat in the midterm elections in November, I wouldn't want to have to defend.
A
That's not the answer I wanted. That's the answer that he was hoping would make you go away. That's not the answer I wanted. Oh, we're going to put them on the record. On the record. They're on the record. They hate election integrity. They love vulnerable elections. They need fraud to win. They're on the record. I don't need more votes to prove that Democrats don't have my best interests at heart. I don't need a single vote to prove that. So spare us with the show vote nonsense. What I need is for the Save America act to become law. That's what I need. Can you tell us about that? So later in the day, John Thune was doing a press conference and reporter asked put a finer point on the question, which is good, which is are you prepared to take this to a speaking filibuster? Are you actually going to do that? And Thune, for the first time in this process, is beginning to give us a little bit of perspective about what's happening behind the scenes. He feels the pressure. Ladies and gentlemen, I'm telling you right now, the guy is seeing the incoming traffic, he's seeing the phone calls, he's seeing the letters. All of his members are getting this action. Here's John Thune yesterday saying it's a cause for real debate that's happening behind the scenes among Republicans right now. Watch John Thune's second answer on this of the day. Your message to the Republicans in your conference who are pushing over and over again that you guys are, you can
B
do this with the talking filibuster.
D
Well, there are a couple things about that. One is once we get on, if we were to go down that path, it's very hard to pivot and get back to open up the government. I frankly think we ought to, we need a deal make sure that dhs, tsa, Coast Guard, fema, all those agencies are funded. And so I'm hopeful there will be a breakthrough on that. That's going to require some, you know, obviously cooperation from the Democrats. We haven't seen a lot of so far, but we want to get to the SAVE Act. We also, as I mentioned, we've got a housing bill that we can pivot back and forth forth to if we get a deal to open up the government. That's harder to do once you're in the throes of a talking filibuster. The talking filibuster issue is one on which there is not certainly a unified Republican conference. And there would have to be. If you go down that path, you're talking about the need to table what are going to be numerous amendments and inability to keep 50 Republicans unified pretty much on every single vote. And there's just not, there isn't support for doing that at this point, as I've said. And we will, we will get on it and we will have a vote on the SAVE Act. The context of that, the process in which we consider it is still an open question, but one that we're having conversations about, but clearly not a, not a unified position, at least among Republicans, Republicans and Senate.
A
But it sounds like that vote might be subject to a 60 vote threshold.
B
Is that what you're saying?
D
I think that's, that's a, obviously that's a very real possibility.
A
Okay, so look, you can put the pieces together on this. Look at, look at what he's saying. This is final. Final. Like get a little bit closer to telling us the truth about what's happening, which is what John Thame just did. A little bit closer. And the truth is he doesn't have all of his Republicans on board with a talking filibuster. The truth is he doesn't have 50 right now. That's, it's as simple as that. So how about say that like, I know there's been a lot of, you know, stuff about, oh, we've got all these Republicans who support the Save America Act. What good is that if the thing can never actually be considered for real vote? That's like you know, it's, it's not, it's meaningless. It's meaningless. What we really need is, do you support using the existing rules of the Senate to finish now? We don't actually know the whip count on this question. We don't know which Republicans are opposed. We have a hunch which Republicans are opposed. I could, I could name, I could rattle off a bunch of Republicans that I suspect. Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, guys like Mitch McConnell and Thom Tillis, obviously. I mean, there's a, there's any number of Republicans, Cornyn, there's any number of Republicans who are probably opposed to using the speaking filibuster to get this done. And which means they're opposed to passing the Stave Act. Let's be honest. If you're opposed to using the means available to you to get this passed, you're actually opposed to passing the SAVE Act. That's what's happening. So the pressure needs to stay on these guys. Now, Mike Lee, who has sort of been the guy who's been reporting back to you and to me every day on what's happening in the Senate, he just released a video overnight saying that that is what the fight really is about behind the scenes, that there are Republican holdouts who are still not on board with the speaking filibuster. Here's Mike Lee on the subject. Ready? Here we go. Look, I get it. The Senate rules are complicated. They're intimidating to some people. But it's all the more reason why you should be deeply suspicious of senators telling you, sorry, we can't get the Save America act passed because the Senate rules won't allow it. And then you ask the follow up question, what about the talking fellow filibuster? If they then say, sorry, it won't work, make them show their work. Make them establish why it is that it can't be done. It's awfully easy for somebody who can hide behind the complexity of the Senate rules to tell you that they don't want to do something by claiming that they can't do something. So make them show their work. The truth is this. It could work and it needs to work. We got to get this done. We've got to get this done. Thank you to Mike Lee for staying on this. So here's the homework. You ready? First of all, for everybody, just continue to contact your senator. Encourage them to support the talking filibuster. Encourage them. Just, just keep that message, a steady drumbeat. Showing up before the United States Congress, Part 2. This is not for the whole audience. This is for the conservative journalists. If you represent any media outlet that's approaching sanity that walks around the halls of the United States Congress, you interact with these lawmakers. I am pleading to you, many of you are my friends. So I'm asking you this in this forum. Please go up to these senators and ask them if they are going to support the talking filibuster. Please ask them, stay on them about this. This is priority one. We have a country to save and making our elections secure, absolutely essential. Let's keep in. Let's stay in the fight. I'll keep bringing the updates to you. That's another update on the Save America Act. It's working. The fact that we got John Thune to this level where he's now sorting through, well, we've got some senators who are into it, but they're not. They've got others who aren't. We'd have to vote against these amendments. We're not there yet. Well, you're not there yet. We'll help you get there. We'll help you get there. This episode is a sweeping indictment of corruption (primarily in government benefits and education), a rallying cry for conservative legislative priorities, and a high-level insider briefing on national politics. For those seeking real-time insight into the conservative movement's priorities—and strong opinions about how to achieve them—this episode is both informative and entertaining. The demands for action on fraud and election integrity take center stage, with no shortage of criticism for those perceived as obstacles—even within the GOP.
Action Item (per Vince):
