You start to talk to me, like, from, you know, like at the beach, you know, where we would. And that was. Wasn't nice of you, what you said.

At the beach, and goes, well, you know, we were told we weren't allowed to talk to you. Oh, my God. Five. What is wrong with you? You're the oldest, crinkliest five year old I've ever seen in my life. Jeez.

[Brandy]

Yeah. Which is funny because when they show him at like age five, he's like the oldest, crinkliest five year old you've ever seen too. He looked very old at 5 years old. Like, he was. He looked like a little banker at five, didn't he? Like a banker on the playground.

[Ben]

Did they show him?

[Brandy]

Yeah, they showed little baby pictures.

[Ben]

Oh, I missed it. Did he have highlights? Was that like a thing that started when he was young? Because I don't understand why someone in 2025 would do that.

[Brandy]

He was wearing a Toni Collette T shirt. It was very strange.

[Celine]

So she's like, wait, wait, wait, wait.

[Celine]

Everyone on this bottom said, don't talk to Sonning.

[Ben]

Yeah. Not because we're really nasty, because you don't do any work when we talk to you, apparently. God, this guy's so gross. I like it.

[Brandy]

Yeah. He's so bad at this. And then he's like, I think Elaine has a. Has a.

[Demo]

As a person, has a fantastic mythical unicorn.

[Brandy]

And her work ethic is just appalling, really.

[Demo]

And it's just blatant disrespect towards the.

[Brandy]

People that she's living with and working with. And Rainbow, she's really feeling the strain and, like, she does bust her ass. And I'm up on lights with her, and it seems like she's carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders. And Slain is getting with M. So.

Then why are you going to agitate.

[Brandy]

The situation by doing this thing that's A, going to make Solane feel really shitty and B, is going to, you know, just cause chaos? Maybe in his mind he thought, like, wow, I'm gonna. I'm gonna break the news to her and she's gonna feel such immense shame that she's gonna be, like, scared straight and be a better worker. But we know that's not how Slayen is going to operate.

[Ben]

No. And I Don't think he was doing it without intention anyway, because he's. He's a guy and we know that he her next week. So I think he's breaking her down. Fortress. Breaking it down a little bit to get in there. Old guy.

[Brandy]

I think that he doesn't like. I. I think he doesn't like being told what to do. And in this case, he was told not to talk to Salane. And there's almost like an implication that, like his previous talking to Seline is. Is part of the problem. I don't think he likes that. And this was his little rebellion to be like, you don't.

[Ben]

I think he's just being. I mean, in my. In my estimation, he's just being mean. Like, he was being mean to her on the beach. He wasn't being very nice to her, and then now he's kind of being mean again by making it sound like everybody hates her. I mean, he's just.

[Brandy]

He's just. He also doesn't want to be a bad gu. Really uncomfortable being a bad guy. This is what we've seen all season. And when she's like, why are you being a dick to me? He would rather throw everything into disarray and be like, oh, I'm not inherently a bad guy. I was ordered to do this. It's not actually me. And we know he doesn't like being a bad guy because when he hooked up with Selim before and then Kyle, he told Kyle, like, hey, are you mad at me? And Kyle was, like, clearly mad at him. Then demo went and started undermining Kyle because he doesn't want to be seen as the bad guy.

[Ben]

Yeah. And also it could be revenge, you know, like slight revenge, because Fraser, you know, he got in trouble for the stuff last week with the chef, so maybe he's getting back at Fraser by getting Fraser in trouble. I don't know. It's so stupid. There's, like, so many little layers. But I think ultimately he's just an. I don't like him.

[Brandy]

Yeah. So. And he does this, by the way. Fraser's right there. Fraser is sitting at the next table. And also crazy that Fraser doesn't say anything right then and there. Why isn't Fraser, like, jump in and say, like, it's. Just shut it down and say the reason why I. And Solane. Let me clarify this. The reason what I said was I don't want people distracting you because you're easily distracted. And I'm. And. And that's the end of it. If you don't want. If you don't want this to happen, then be more focused. Like, instead he just goes, literally leaves the room.

[Ben]

He leaves. Well, that's the thing. Like, Fraser is fine with just setting everybody else off and letting everybody else take the blame. It's shitty, you know, it's shitty. He should have said something right then and there. But no, he's going to watch her spiral and just because he knows what's going to happen. He's known Solane long enough to know if she's already being confrontational about it. She's going to ask everybody until they, until she finds out, and it's just going to cause more discord. So what is his real goal here? You know, I don't know. He's trying to think. He's more like, I don't want to fire her, so I'm just going to make her make an ass out of herself in front of everybody else. And maybe they'll fire her or they'll get her fired so I don't have to look like the bad guy to the Internet. I don't know what he's doing, but he's coming off as a great wuss in this situation.

[Brandy]

Yeah. So he goes up to Hugo and.

[Demo]

He'S like, I'm worried I'm going to face an issue because Sir Lane's been told by her crew the rule that we had and that is immature.

[Brandy]

And Hugo's like, oh, God, what the.

[Demo]

He's like, and this is going against what our crew needs. I don't know if you told them not to say anything, but surely they would know not to say anything to her.

[Brandy]

Right? He's like, well, I, I said don't distract her on the beach. I mean, they're having a hard enough time with Fraser. Like, what doesn't want us having a hard enough time. And Fraser doesn't want us distracting her. So don't talk. You would just think it'd be implied, but, you know, whatever. So he's like, sorry, I didn't mean for that to explode in your face.

[Ben]

But also going and saying Fraser made me do it is weak.

[Brandy]

Yeah. You're not going to get people falling in line. People are not going to take it seriously.

[Ben]

Basically everybody in this situation handled it badly. All of them.

[Brandy]

Yeah.

[Ben]

So Anthony is now making his boob cake and he's like, oh, I feel.

[Celine]

Like Michelangelo sculpting the marble. What now?

[Ben]

I'm really. Because those are some uneven half ass cakes. That is some half ass work you're doing right there. He Made these like two little round things, cut them all uneven. Unevenly. And what do you do? Shove some whipped cream in there. Come on now.

[Brandy]

Yeah, it was little odd looking. Yeah. So then Fraser's checking in on Celine and she's like, guess what? The decant made some new rules about me.

[Celine]

Don't speak to Solene.

[Brandy]

And then Rainbow's like, well, that's your own fault because I don't understand. And fridge goes, it's not, it's.

Don't distract Sir Lane.

[Celine]

She goes, no different. But so, no, no, no.

[Brandy]

It's like different rules, eh?

[Celine]

So don't speak to the Lane about when you work. Yeah, we are here to work.

[Brandy]

Why does Fraser not say the deck crew did not make that rule? I made that rule. How does he, like, not correct her in that moment?

[Ben]

Yeah, and he's like, well, I cannot put Celine on a leash and follow her around and make sure she's doing her work. I mean, she really is replaceable. But I want to try and fix this for her and off for our team and make sure we can make it to the end. No, you want to make it to the end, but you're not willing to do the. You're trying to make everybody else do your job. And yes, you can. I think you're right, Ben, that yes, you can put her on a leash and follow her around. I mean, figuratively. You could be there on the beach and tell her to stop talking to people.

[Celine]

The hell.

[Brandy]

Some. Someone got into Fraser's head that someone said Fraser's not a good leader because when it gets tough, he just tries to get people fired. Maybe does.

[Ben]

Well, the captain, like, I mean, the captain said. We see a clip of the captain telling him last season, listen, leadership is not firing people. Leadership is working with people and figuring whatever he says. They showed the clip in this episode of him being like, you can't just fire everybody, dude. Like, you actually gotta learn how to work with different personalities, even if you don't like them. This is a profession.

[Brandy]

That's right. But like when Fraser says she's replaceable, maybe you need to make her feel like she's replaceable or maybe you should replace her. Like it's. I just feel like he's acting so he's acting a very powerless way. He's just not acting in a way where someone is going to grow from it. He's. He's just not. This is why I say that he's just, I don't know. If he has, like, a management skill.

[Ben]

Set in him, you know, who's acting in a way that will make her grow and be better. And we've seen it. Barbara and Rainbow. Both are very good with her. Barbara's especially good with her. I mean, Rainbow's technique could use some zhuzhing special day. But, yeah, definitely Barbara. But I think Barbara's done a really good job with her. I mean, Solene's a lot better than when she started. And a lot of this we have to remember is Solene is some Love island girl that they put on the cast for drama. She's not. She doesn't know how to do this. There's always one a season, and she's at least learned. I mean, she's doing a lot better even. She's even getting compliments from Rainbow occasionally. So Barbara had the right thing, which.

[Brandy]

Is that she just yelled at her. She just would yell and be like, I'm not. I don't want to hear any of your excuses. I'm telling you what you did wrong. Go fix it.

[Ben]

Yeah.

[Brandy]

That's what Soleil needs. She needs, like, she's like a kid who is, like, going to push the boundaries and push the parameters and gonna see what they can get away with. And you just need to give, like. Like a. Like a swift rebuke and say, yeah, no, absolutely not. And, like, Barbara was great with that.

So Hugo meets with Demo, and he's like, what happened with Celine? He's like, well, why are you asking me? I mean, you never said, don't tell her. He's like, yeah, but I think it was understood. He said, well, when you come and tell me that I can't talk to her on the beach, it's like, okay, sweet. Like, we're treating her like a child now. Yes, that is actually exactly right. If you've listened to this entire podcast, we've referred to Celine as a child the entire time. And guess what? You are one too. So.

[Ben]

You are too. Like, I had to tell you not to run in tattletale to your sister. I mean, seriously, My God. And he's like, well, I mean, there's just so much drama over this. I'm really over it. Well, sorry I put you in a bad place, but this is not my fault. It is. It's literally personal.

[Brandy]

No, it's literally all his faults, and this is his whole thing. He's like, I'm in a selfish part of my life right now, and I just have to think about me. It's like, no, you know what? You're in a stupid part of your life, and I think it's going to last for the next 70 years.

[Ben]

So then you go that, like, I'm just in the selfish part of my life. No, you're just selfish.

[Brandy]

You're selfish.

[Ben]

You don't get to say, like, oh, it's just that fun selfish chapter. You're just selfish.

You know, he's like slept in the winter outside and come back in with green nipples and been like well the grow back. So Ray is giving Selene some glasses and she's like I'm gonna give you some glasses for the bar. That's work. Your favorite thing.

It's like, oh, no worry, no worries. Well, good. We are good. It is 11.

The other day I ordered from Wayfair this really cool little side table for here in this office. So that way if I ever needed my laptop, I could put my laptop on it right next to my desk setup. Which was really cool. But what I've since found is that this cute little table works really well as almost like a TV table. I can bring it upstairs, I can put a drink on it while I watch tv or if I'm watching a game because you know, I am a sports gay. I enjoy my football. I can have my little snacks right there while I recline on the sofa. I just love my cute little table. I really do.

All right, Celine, if you'd like to do your weekly falling over for no good reason. That was your genus. And then we cut to Celine bringing a bag off the boat and just falling off onto the dock. Like, I mean, she really falls a lot.

[Ben]

So Rainbow's like, are you okay?

[Celine]

She goes, oh, yes, the blood is inside. I'm fine.

[Ben]

She goes, you up the suitcase.

[Celine]

Oh, Celine did. But you don't care. Only the suitcase.

[Ben]

She goes, yeah. The first question I asked you is if you're good. And you said, you're good, but you can't drop a guest suitcase, bro.

[Brandy]

So then the guests leave, they hug, they say goodbye, trip of a lifetime, and that's all that nice stuff. And then it's time to clean. And now it is time for our tip meeting. Well, what a lovely group of people are really, really happy with this charter. We're just about at the end of our charter season and I want to keep that momentum going. It's school night, so don't have much time to. Time to turn the boat around, quite literally. Medmore style. I need everyone firing on all cylinders tomorrow. Assuming you have a cylinder, Celine. Alrighty. Today's tip is $21,000, which is actually pretty low. But we're not going to make fun of these people because, you know, the C word and not that kind of C word. I wondered about this. So this wasn't much higher than the. The tip they all cried about. So is it because it was a shorter charter?

Maybe it was a little shorter, I don't know. But it seemed like it was full of more peril, what with all that med mooring midmore med dead more.

[Ben]

So Damo likes making money because it's more than he makes in Australia, that's for sure. When I grew up, money was tight. Or like through high school and everything. I worked. So I've been responsible with my money because I've always had to earn it on making money. Laughing with friends, tattletailing on people. Being out in cities, you know, getting shot down by multiple women and men. Traveling the world, seeing amazing places, meeting amazing people. God. Making bad choices in between. God. That dick piercing still really a punch in the dick, quite literally. But you know, it's good fun. It's good fun having a great time, even a great time.

[Brandy]

So then Anthony puts out this lunch. This was steak and crab legs. I was like, and these. This demo had the nerve to complain last week. Like, this is it. Or two weeks ago, this is all we get for lunch. When this guy's like giving them crab legs on the regular. And then you like one week you get like a sandwich. The way every single other person in the world eats. Well, actually, that's not even true. Like, it's not that. But I'm meaning that, like, sandwiches are not a crazy thing. Like, it's not crazy that for lunch you're just stuck with a sandwich. It's just what happens sometimes. And sometimes. And the fact that this guy's getting crab legs now and then, we don't even see it. Maybe this happened, it wasn't shown. But the fact that he wasn't like, wow, thanks. You really went above and beyond for us. I was just like, this guy's such a spoiled brat.

[Ben]

I know. Right after his monologue about how not spoiled he is.

[Brandy]

Yeah.

[Ben]

So they. So Damo, of course, doesn't even know how to eat a fucking crab leg. Which no one's shocked. So he has to ask. And he's like, so does anybody but Selene know how to crack these? And Celine is like, oh, Captain Carrie.

[Celine]

By the way, did you make rules about me? You made.

[Brandy]

Woo.

[Celine]

You made one about me.

[Ben]

And he's like, Jess is like, oh my God. Because what? Did I make rules about you?

[Celine]

Yes. I want to know. Did you Make a rule. What is this rule? Because I hear someone making rules about me, and I'm wool and don't speak to Celine and everybody have to avoid me while we are working.

[Ben]

So I just want to know, you think I made that? Yeah. And of course, Fraser's still sitting there not saying a thing.

[Brandy]

Yeah, I do. He's like, well, my understanding, it's Fraser est the dick crew to stop harassing you so you can do your job. It's like. And Barbara's like, harassing. She's like, harassing. And Car's like, all right, because we want. We want you to succeed in your job. So Carrie tells us, like, yeah, I don't think that she understands really how to talk to your superior, especially the captain. But, like, the fact is this. She's the one who needs to start doing her work. She's the one who needs to go like, hey, look, you're distracting me. I gotta focus. Gotta do a medmo with the vacuum right now. Get out of my face. That's on her.

[Ben]

But just the language they're using. It's not that she. They're distracting her. She's the one talking to everybody. It's not like they're coming up and distracting her. So he goes, so you understand? No, it's about just. And Fraser says, it's about distracting you.

[Celine]

Oh, so someone told all the deck crew you think captain was upset about my question?

[Ben]

And Barbara's like, yeah, you shouldn't have asked about this, babe. Come on. No.

[Brandy]

And because at this point, Carrie has left the table. He's just like, whatever this. He's going off to his. His area. And Jess is like, you never should have asked.

[Demo]

Also, I'm going to be quite honest with you guys, even if this carries many consequences for my actions. I'm so sorry to do this while everyone is eating, but, like, I don't want people coming to us and telling us that we can't speak to you. You haven't been doing your job. And to counter that, that they are trying to take things away that are distracting you. And for one, it is. Let me talk. Consequences. Either you don't. Either you didn't get distracted, or they would have fired you. That would have been it. So instead of firing you, they wanted to be like, let's put you in an environment that we can make her work better. And that's what it was. But it's making our team look bad, and I'm not going to take that. Okay?

[Brandy]

Like, well, also, your team looks bad because you like you're not doing. You're not honoring the spirit of the. Of the rules that were set out in front of you. So, like, that's on you as well. But yeah, I think Jess's point is, like, actually very strong.

[Ben]

Yeah. But also Jess is the one, like, dropping the shackles or whatever at the wrong time and stuff like getting and not communicating right and stuff like that. But okay, yeah, but in this. In this, I'll give it to her. And so Solene's like, it is not exactly this. Yes. And Hugo says so. So it is exactly that. It is 100% this.

[Celine]

But Captain say the same thing.

[Ben]

Well, he's at lunch. I mean, go into the office and talk to private. You. You're not supposed to be talking in front of everybody. To the captain.

[Demo]

You keep doing these things and you don't realize that they are the repercussions. And that's.

[Ben]

That's their whole season.

[Celine]

Consequences to your actions.

[Demo]

And that's not o. You need to take responsibility for that. I'm not going to take this. I don't know this. I don't know that bs. Don't come here with that. I'm so angry. I'm going to walk awkwardly behind you on the stall and get out of here. Repercussions.

[Celine]

You speak to me? Yes, I'm speaking to you. Don't come here with that. I don't want that. What I told you is super clear. You are disrespectful. And the fact that you don't see it blows my mind. It blows. Was it?

[Brandy]

Okay, Seline, this is what we call in English a last resort. But it's nothing personal from any of us. And.

[Demo]

Oh, God, I'm so, so. I'm sorry for raising my voice. I shouldn't have. Oh, so many consequences to my actions of speaking loudly.

[Celine]

Go, go. Raise your voice again if you want. I don't care. I don't care. Raise it. Raise it up. You know what? I'm not even psy, to be honest.

[Ben]

So now Carrie is radioing Fraser up to the wheelhouse, and Celine is upset and she's crying.

[Celine]

She's like, it's more painful because it comes from chess. What did I do to deserve that? I work hard, I do my best, I try. I don't know. I would never, ever let someone to be alone like this.

[Ben]

And she cries. And I actually did feel kind of bad for her because that's crazy. Like this. This just, like, came to a big head. Of course, she's a dummy for bringing that up in front of everybody to the captain. So she's hard to stick up for. I'm. I'll. I'll say that.

[Brandy]

Yeah. It's not a nice feeling. So I felt bad for her because she's a human. It's not. Not nice to know that, like, everyone's sort of, like, been told to avoid you, but you also are. You're. You're kind of a dumb. You're up. You're a up.

[Ben]

Been saying you're in that.

[Brandy]

So then Carrie is like, all right, Fraser, I want to go over the uncomfortable conversation at the table there. I was a bit thrown off. It was a bit bold of her to just come out like that, like, let her know that was inappropriate. I'm not a work mate. I'm a captain. A captain of adventure. Someone who just survived a Medmore and Saint baths. Okay, so what's happening on your end?

[Demo]

He's like, well, I've been struggling with Celine since day one. We brought her from a green stew to someone who's now more like a chartreuse stew. And I don't know, she can work a whole charter from. She can go from charter one to charter seven.

[Brandy]

I'm like, no, she can't work a whole charter season. You just haven't fired her because. I don't know why, but I'm very.

[Demo]

Proud of her, and it's been incredibly difficult and frustrating and draining. Absolutely. But I'm proud of her.

[Ben]

All right, well, what have we got to work this out? All right, what do we got to do? Selene does bring an energy to the boat that's appreciated, but there is a line. All right? There's also a way to hold the line. There's also a way to drop the line. There's also a way to cross the line. But if you cross the lines, you could kill everybody on board. What's it gonna be? Phrase.

Although no other line options. I don't know. I don't like them very much. Okay, I'll speak to her very quickly.

So then Demo. Demo and Hugo were just, like, talking about this situation doesn't really matter. And then Fraser goes and finds Solane.

It's like, sir Lane. I just want to talk about earlier. About what? The captain. And about how you talk to the captain. And speaking to the captain, it's just. It's uncomfortable for him. And meetings are held individually or within departments, not over the lunch table.

[Celine]

Oh, oh, oh, oh. But if I do bad job, maybe someone can tell me before everybody doing bad job, doing bad job. Are you doing bad job or doing bad job?

Yes. But when I've come to you, I've been frustrated many, many times. Look, here comes several scenes in a row of me being so frustrated and me telling you clearly what you have to do better. Here's the first clip.

My biggest mistake in the past was being reactive, was letting people trigger me. And the easier way out was firing people. I really finish the season with the same team I set out with for no good reason except for this. I just decided I want that so she has this last chance to get her shit together. And I don't want to fire her because we might not have an option.

You're here because you have made a huge progression. Also, you're extremely entertaining in a group of mostly boring people, let's face it. And the producers would not let us fire you. So you are a very enjoyable person to work with. With. And this tactic didn't work, did it? And she's like, oh, finish.

[Celine]

Like, yeah. I think you might need to let her calm down a bit, because at this point, with how you've handled this, yes, it did become the entire boat turning on Selene and coming at Selene instead of you just nipping this in the bud. So, yeah, your tactic didn't work. Sorry.
