Watch what happens. Watch what happens. Who cares what happens when there's so much.
Ronnie
Well, hello and welcome to Watch what Crappens. I'm Ronnie. That's Ben over there. Hello, Ben.
Ben
Hi Ronnie. How's it going?
Ronnie
Good. How's everything going with you today, buddy?
Ben
I mean it's, it's going great. How could it not go Great. It's. It's the birthday of both JLO and Ruth Buzzy. Who knew that they shared a birthday? But they do.
Ronnie
Whoa. Yeah, I had no idea.
Ben
There are other ones. I think Kristen Chenoweth's birthday is today as well. Obviously I'm on this kick where I'm reading people's birthdays and seeing interesting connections. So there were actually a lot of celebrities today, but I just felt like the. The axis of JLo and Ruth Buzzy was a great one.
Ronnie
So it's pretty good. Think they're sitting on a birthday bench somewhere and Ruth Buzzi just reaches over and smacks Jennifer in the head with a hearse.
Ben
The ghost. A ghost. A ghost laughing moment. But anyway, I'm doing great. And by the way, speed of birthday is. My brother's birthday is tomorrow and we won't be recording tomorrow. So happy birthday to my brother. My big brother, Dan.
Ronnie
Yeah, happy birthday to that guy. Sweet.
Ben
Yeah.
Ronnie
Also a quick one. I'm going to be doing a dinner cruise inter interviewing Hannah Ferrier and Daisy Keller from below deck. Both from below deck. That's going to be on August 23rd. It's going to be city cruises in San Francisco. So come see that. You can find the Lincoln bio at Daisy or Hannah's Instagram. You know they're Daisy and Hannah from below deck, so surely you follow at least one, if not both. So go to their Lincoln bios to get that. The ticket link for that. I'm not being snotty about putting it in mine. I just don't have a bio with like a lot of links in bio things and it's too long to fit into my own. Maybe I should work on that. I haven't. I don't really even post anything on
Ben
this might be worthwhile. So you can also shorten the URL. You can go to like tiny URL or whatever. And then you have a nice cute little one. So it looks nice file. Yeah.
Ronnie
Okay. Well, maybe I'll do that by the end of this. You can probably go to my LinkedIn profile on Instagram too. Also, if you want this on video, you can get that@patreon.com watch what crappens. It's also where you get all of our bonus episodes, Discord server access and our free weekly newsletter. It's like a recap of all the shows, like a fun little recap I write every week. And you can also get ad free listening, which is a big one. So that's all Patreon stuff. Thanks to everybody who supports us. Over there. Don't Forget, Monday at 1:30pm we do Amazon Live. And at 5:30pm Pacific Time, both we do Crappy hour, which is live on YouTube and Patreon, so check us out there. Okay. And by the way, that's another free Patreon thing. It doesn't cost anything. Okay, so today is Real Housewives of orange county. Season 20, episode 3. Why can't we be friends?
Ben
Why not? Yeah. Here we are, Orange county and Tamara's house. Specifically, Tamara's helping Sophia move because Sophia, Sophia didn't want to move all the way up to the far reaches of Los Angeles, an hour away. It was just too much. But now she's actually okay to move. I'm like, okay, so now you're moving? Anyway, I was like, okay, great. So she's moving away, and Tamara's helping her pack up and everything and, like, overseeing. Like, do you want to take a comforter to everything? And Sophia's like. She's like, no, I just want to sleep in my bed sheets. What we don't realize at this moment is that they are packing up materials for what will make one of the strangest home decor choices I think I've ever seen on reality tv, which is Sophia's future apartment.
Ronnie
She really.
Ben
She really goes for. For an interesting look in there.
Ronnie
Yeah, she's an interesting kid. I guess. This. This is an episode where we just concentrate on the housewives families. I don't need this. Yeah, listen, if you don't have anything going on in your family, that's great and good for you because that probably means you've got a happy home life happening. Or in this case, not really. Not all of these. I don't need a whole season about whether or not Gina is going to change her name, okay? I don't need it. Seriously, seriously, stop it.
Ben
Sophia.
Ronnie
That was last season. Now she's just going to move locally to be next to her boyfriend. Oh, my God. You guys have to clean an air vent or a fire detector in the room because it's got cobwebs. FF no. Stop wasting my time. Stop it.
Ben
I also, like, I just saw some, like, just. Why couldn't Sophia move up to L. A? I'm sorry. I'm sorry. This is what's on my mind. Why was it so hard for her to move to L. A? It's like, there's a great music program for her up there. Like, you're not moving across the country. You're just down the highway. Like, you're obviously. I thought at first, like, okay, she's not ready to leave home, but she is, because she's moving out anyway. I'm like, what's going on, Sophia? What are these choices? Can we help? Can we sit you down to be guidance counselors? Because, like, I don't understand.
Ronnie
Well, she stayed. She stayed there, and she's starting a podcast with Tamara, I think. Last I heard, I think they're doing, like, a Mother daughter podcast. Episode one. Oh, my God. What's it like when you have a cobweb on your phone? God damn it.
Ben
If I were of Tamara, I would have been like, sophia, there's this great music program. We're going to get a discount because we just put it on tv. Most likely, get your ass up to la. It's not very far. Heather Dubro lives there. Our cast, it's still within the radius of our cast. You'll be okay. Heather Dubro will look over you.
Ronnie
Heather duo is not kid. No, Heather to bro. She'll walk into Heather Dubro's house, and Heather will just hand her a duster. Be like, do not look in the direction of Drake's house. He does not like to have his house look directly in the eyes.
Ben
She'll just have Nikki, like, check in. Nikki, bring her a bowl from Nobu, but only fill it with oatmeal.
Ronnie
Mom, why does Heather Dubrow keep calling me Alfredo? I don't understand it. She told me to go clean her pool, but they live in a penthouse. They don't have a pool.
Ben
It's like wax on, wax up. It's like Karate Kid. It's like, why do I have to learn these lessons about washing a car? And then it turns out it, like, helps Sophia immensely with her music. They're like, sophia, this work that you're doing, scrubbing the floor, it's making an amazing sound, a unique sound, unlike Eddie before you've changed music. Thank you, Heather. Thank you.
Ronnie
Well, now that she's the last kid out of the house, me and Eddie really need to nurture our relationship and just have orgies in the neighborhood. And we're gonna have, like, Woodstock sex. See what I mean? Oranges.
Guest or Secondary Speaker
Yeah.
Ben
It is wild. When she says she's been raising kids for 40 years. Like, that is actually so much. That's a lot. Oh, my God. No wonder why Tamara's off the walls all the time. She's been raising children for 40 years.
Ronnie
Oh, man. Yeah, That's a lot. I mean, I would be kicking kids out of my house for 40 years. I would probably say that, like, yeah, if that was me, I could get rid of these little. For 40 years. Did you notice the. In the part where they were showing, like, oh, shots of Orange county, it's a. It's an umbrella with a star on it, and it's a. It's a dog walking. It's a lady in a bikini jumping for a volleyball. They have a statue. It's like, they're welcome to Orange county statue, you know, and probably in the future, though, I'll be President Trump, let's face it. But for right now, it is a shirtless guy surfing. Do you think that's a beach boy or something?
Ben
It's probably like John Wayne. There's a John Wayne airport. That's why I say that. I don't know. Maybe it's like Ronald Reagan.
Ronnie
It's just California. It's like, welcome to our city. Here's our. Here's our big, important statue. A guy with a six pack and a shirt off. You know, it's like, can I just. Can I just have lunch without you guys trying to make me feel insecure? Like, I need an old, crusty dead guy up there, you know, some waddled, some huge jowls and no hair, you know, or thinning hair. I mean, give me an American statue, like a real one, not some hot guy in a six pack with a six pack.
Ben
Maybe the statue is just a statue of young Dr. Tim, who seems to be, at this point, something of an Orange county legend, along with Dr. Moon, because that's where we go to now on this rainy day, Emily goes to the chiropractor, aka Dr. Tim, who's one. You know, we love a guy who's like, I kind of want to look like Don Henley, but I kind of want to break some people's backs. And I kind of want to shame Shannon Beador at the same time. So here I am, Dr. Tim. So we're. We're back with.
Ronnie
This guy's a fish follower.
Ben
Ph definitely.
Ronnie
You know, from back in the day. He's got, like a wild side at night. Why would anybody go back to Dr. Tim after that scene where he was with Shannon and she was really upset about weight and she's like, yeah, I'm depressed about. You Remember the scene, right? And he's like, whoa, whoa. She lifts up her shirt or what? He's like, lift up your shirt or something. And she lifted up. He's like, oh, Jesus God. God, woman. Why would anybody go back to Dr. Tim Ever?
Ben
Why? Well, yeah. Yeah, he is.
Ronnie
I was triggered.
Ben
Well, it's also A rainy day. I think I complained about this maybe last week or so, but Orange county, their filming schedule seems to be like January through, like March or April. And so as a result, I've sort of noticed over the past few years this has been on my mind. I've noticed that it's. It's always kind of like cold in Orange county when in these episodes, it's always like, you know, you know that. You know that. Like, how do you describe it? It's like a. A colder morning and you're in like a. You're in like a coffee shop. And the. The air just hangs in a certain sort of way. It's sunny, but even though it's sunny, it's cold. And the air almost feels very still. And you're like, you're cold, but the heat is on. So it's like. But it's not like a natural, comfortable heat. And you're just like, you're in that place and you're like, can't wait for warmer weather. Do you know what I'm saying? I really don't know if I'm articulating. I'm not even trying to be funny. I'm actually like, really trying to explore my emotions and words on this topic. But there's like a certain kind of indoor experience you get when it's colder outside that's just sometimes like the worst. Do you know what I'm saying?
Ronnie
Well, California is really not built for heating either. So there's not great, you know, heating. I mean, it heats you, but it doesn't feel right on your skin because it's so temporary. They're like, ah, don't make it comfortable heating. I don't know what comfortable heating would be really, but I do kind of know what you mean. It's like, it's like California doesn't like
Ben
10:00am it's like, you know what it is. It's also like, like you're getting into the office. It's 10am there's like a smell of coffee in the air, but not like coffee shop smell. It's just like, like Diane brought in coffee and sort of, you can smell her coffee. And it's like people are tired. Yeah, it's like people are tired. The air is like, the temperature is like, technically comfortable, but it's like not. It's not comfortable enough that you don't notice it. And you're sort of like you're wearing some layers because it's cold outside, but now you're a little warm on the inside. I feel like, that's what Orange county looks like every season. And I feel like Orange county is so. It's actually so beautiful. It's so sunny. And, like, it's. It's lovely that they should really film this show, I believe, starting in, like, May. And it should be a summertime shoot, and they air it in the winter. That's my statement.
Ronnie
I actually like that they do it at this time, not just to argue with you, but I do kind of like this time, because.
Ben
Vicious argument now that you think I
Ronnie
know, but now it's just, like, always got to argue, you know? But I do kind of like it, only because we get to see people wear jackets and coats. And I really think it helps the outfits. As we see later when Jen is going through her closet. I mean, just cover some of this stuff up because the. The Whatever boutiques. And we've seen many of the boutiques in this town, whatever these people are selling is just hideous. I mean, the fact that Jen has a whole closet of this crap. I mean, we see how they all dress. This show's not really known for its fashion as we'll get to Gina in a minute as well. But I think anything to cover up also.
Ben
Not as we get to Gina in the next minute. Sorry. Just kidding. Sorry.
Ronnie
Bless her heart.
Ben
I was making a joke. Sorry.
Ronnie
Are you talking about Gina Kirschen Heino or Gina Trav? This is Tina. Gina Travis.
Ben
Face.
Ronnie
Whatever. His last.
Ben
But you're totally right. The fashion. The fashions. This is not a show for fashions. And, like, the. The more we could just cover up the fashions with a coat, probably the better. So I think you do have a fair point there. Since the last Orange county recap, I actually went down to Orange County. I mentioned another recap, but I went. I. Dom and I had, like, a little overnight in Laguna just for the fun of it.
Dani Pellegrino
And it really.
Ben
It's like.
Dani Pellegrino
It's.
Ben
It really is gorgeous down there. But it's so Orange county. Like, ev. Like, it's just everywhere you go into. You feel like you're about to shoot a scene. You feel like Gina's about to sit down at a table and confront you about your rent. You know, it's like. It's crazy. It's all over. And the. And the fashion is wild. And also in Laguna Beach, I don't know.
Guest or Secondary Speaker
This.
Ben
This is probably just like a surf town thing in general, but, you know, it is a. It's. It's right there on the ocean, obviously. And obviously it's a big surfing thing. And people just walk barefoot throughout the entire town. They're, like, crossing the street barefoot. And, like, for the amount of shame we gave Britney Spears for walking barefoot, people should go see what's happening in Laguna Beach. And I'm. I'm sure it's other coastal towns, but Laguna beach is my only reference right now. And it was just like a whole bunch of, like, dirty sold people walking around. I was like. I was like, why don't you have, like, flip flops on to cross? Like, you're not on the beach anymore. You're just walking on the sidewalk. What about broken glass? Like, what's happen? Shannon's spilled dog ice cream cone is there. You're stepping in that.
Ronnie
Yeah, that's true. Her dog cone.
Ben
Yeah.
Ronnie
Get it together over there. Dirty feet, motherfuckers. It's time for a commercial. It's time for a crappin's commercial.
Ben
Your space should feel like you. And if it doesn't, that's probably not a taste problem. It's a budget problem, and Wayfair really can fix that. What did your space look like before Wafer Ronnie? What were you most excited to change or refresh about your current space? Because I'll tell you one thing. This office that I record out of, it was just a generic office. Four walls and a little green carpet. And then I went to Wayfair and I got two comfy chairs, and I put them right behind this desk with some microphones, and boom. I now have a recording studio, and I'm so excited to use it.
Ronnie
Oh, yeah. I mean, I got my rug in my office from Wayfair. I got my curtains from Wayfair. I got a couple of chairs. I got all my outdoor furniture from Wayfair. I love that place because it's also great to order things and have it put together so, you know, you can have. You have the option with Wayfair that they just come, they deliver it, they put it together in the room that you want, and boom, you're done. You're not messing around with the little, you know, tools and all of that stuff so much? I am, baby.

So Emily and what's her puns? Shannon are with Dr. Tim who's learned his lesson after getting excoriated on the Internet over the years. And he's like, whoa, you look absolutely spectacular. Wow, nobody shaming here. What is new and exciting with you guys? And Emily's like, well, I've lost £40 and I go to the gym every day. I was there this morning. So, you know, last year Luke stressed me out so I gained a lot of weight. Luke. So Luke and his goddamn, his goddamn health problems.
Ben
But now I'm focused, you know, and now it could be better. And it's like, I mean the thing is we've seen this storyline with Emily like at least two or three other times and like I'm, I'm always happy for her when she, you know, when she's feel and she is, you know, shed pounds and feels better about herself and everything. But I also kind of am now starting to worry that I'm like a like complicit part of, of this yo yoing that she's going through. In a weird way, it's like it's all being, it's almost like it's all being used for content for us. And I, I can't describe it but I'm kind of like, I don't know, it's like another season where Emily is like proclaiming she has a new body and she finally feels good about Herself. And I kind of want to be like, Like, I think, I think you need to go to therapy.
Dani Pellegrino
I don't know.
Ben
That sounds so cruel, but I'm like, you. Like there's. She seems unhappy. She seems unhappy all the time. And she's always sort of starting a season and I'm like. And look, now I'm finally happy. And it's like, I don't know. I don't know if you are. I. I can't describe it. I feel like I'm body shaming. I'm really not meaning it. I'm just not articulating my words right. I think I.
Ronnie
You sound like body shaming. I think what you're saying is right. Emily's story since she's come on here has been body issues. And it's a normal thing for people to go through, obviously. Hello, me. What do I talk about with you? I mean, on this show as well, but also with you privately and to anybody who's my friend, body, you know, body issues. It's been my thing since I was a kid. It's up and down and it's always worrying about it and it's, you know, blah, blah, blah. And you think maybe you're this weight and you'll be happy and then you get to that weight and you'd still feel the same mentally. It's like you kind of eventually learn that that stuff isn't what makes you happy, even if it might make you. Not that it's a complete waste of time to work on yourself or anything, but, you know, Emily is just not happy. And she makes so much effort and puts so much effort into the body and all that. And I think she looks great and I think she looked great before she even started all this. I. Emily was one of our first, you know, one of the rare, I guess I should say, like body, you know, body positive people who came out when she first started and was like, you know, I'm. This is body positivity and I like being my weight and I'm gonna go do a strip show for my in laws in Vegas. And like, that's been her thing since she started. You know, her size, her size 8 jeans that Heather made her wear in that fashion show. And she got all upset about it. I mean, this has been her storyline from the beginning. And I think it's. It's how I am with myself. I'm sick of hearing it. You know what I mean?
Ben
Well, you know what it is? It's like, it's more like I. I feel like when she sheds weight and she's like, has a season where she's really working out. And by the way, I just want to also preface, before I get to this point, struggling with weight, going up and down and like, feeling like you're more yourself when you've lost some way, feeling maybe down on yourself if you're not happy with how your body is. That's such a real thing. I think, like, a majority of us go through that. I don't. I'm not like, oh, shut up or whatever, you know? But you know what? It is.
Ronnie
It's.
Ben
It's almost like every time she does lose the weight, there's like this celebratory vibe with her storyline. And it's like, oh, my God, finally I could be a normal person again. And like, I feel like we're sort of complicit. It's like now it's like, yay, good for Emily. And then it's like. And then another season where she's maybe gained it back. It's like, oh, poor Emily. And I kind of feel like it. It's like we're like, we're sort of part of, like, some sort of, like, bad feedback loop for her. And I heard of diet culture, but
Ronnie
I don't really get. I don't really. I think she looks great, but I don't. I thought she looks great before. Like, it's. For me. Yeah, for me, it's not that. But also, I'm someone who's. I lost 200 pounds. Like, I was 200 pounds bigger, and before that I was 200 pounds lighter, and before that I was 200 lbs bigger. And I'm not even exaggerating, like, literally a huge change many times my life. And it's really funny how people treat you, because when I gain 150, 200 pounds, they're like, are you working out? Hey there, big guy. You've been working out. Clearly, everybody knows I've not been working out when I've gained 200 pounds. And when I lose weight, people act like I've just been cured from the worst disease in the world. And they're, oh, my God, thank God, Ronnie. Oh, you know, they'll. They'll be so dramatic. And it's just like, geez, what was I? But what were you thinking before that? You're acting this crazy now. Like, it's a mind. I think people commenting on your weight all the time, you know, and I think she probably deals with that, but also your inner voice, you know, you're your own Worst enemy. And nothing anybody can ever say to me would be meaner than I have been to myself. And I'm sure that's true with a lot of people who struggle with it. And it. The way it comes out of. Emily is really obnoxious with her. Thank God I'm not fat. Like, here's the 50 not being fat. It's like everybody's at different levels. You know, maybe people haven't lost any weight and don't want to, and maybe people are struggling. But just like the second you lose it and you just villainize, villainize it, even though you're doing it from your own place, it's pretty offensive to people watching it, you know? And it's really hard to just not want to scream, shut up at Emily. Honestly, at this point, it's like, just stop. Because you're not only being mean to yourself, you're being mean to everybody else. And I'm sick of hearing about it. You know, I'm just very about it with me, too. And we just spent half an hour talking about it here. But I don't know.
Ben
It's very paradoxical because I'm actually, like, we all. I think a lot of us know, like, you know, oh, my God, I had this goal of trimming down or yada, yada. And I've hated. I feel really good about myself, you know, So I don't want to be like, oh, shut up. Like, you should, like, if that's something that you want, not saying that's something that people need, but if that's something that you've set out for yourself and you've achieved it, you know, like, great. Like, that really is awesome. But I also know that. I also like that I. I feel like this show is constantly, like, it's like, celebrating that all the time, and then it's, like, very morose when it's not that. And it's like, I don't know, I guess, like, maybe the first time it happens, like, this is cool. But now I feel like it's like, maybe the second or third time where I'm like. Like, I feel kind of like I'm party to, like, to something that's a little unhealthy for Emily. And I also feel like, yeah, she just. There's sadness that's there. She has, like, this stuff with her mom that is continuing to plague her, which, by the way, she talks about it later in the episode. And we. And we. We highlighted it during Wife Swap. We're like, emily, you realize you're repeating the Cycle of your mother on White Swap here. But anyway, that's related in the episode.
Ronnie
But it's also, you know, it's being complicit on the be by being viewer. I mean, that's, I guess, a big conversation about all housewives and stuff. I won't start blabbing my face off about. But I think this is just culture. It's just how it is. Everywhere you go, people are commenting on calories and diet and this and that, and it's just part of. It's just part of culture everybody's kind of complicit in. Yeah.
Ben
I mean, there's so many other things
Ronnie
that are worthy or unworthy based on your looks and your weight and your age and all this other that goes into it.
Ben
But I think they're just. I mean, there's so many other things that we're complicit to while watching these shows anyway, so I'm not suddenly, like, saying, like, well, this is terrible that we're complicit. It's just one of those things like. Like, hey, this is pinging on my radar. Like, I. I feel like the show is trying to land this tonal note, but it's actually hitting me in this tonal way instead. I don't know if they were intending that. It's just my opportunity.
Ronnie
I don't think it's this show. I think it's Emily specifically. That's her personality, and that's her own demons that she's working through. And it's just really hard to not get pissed off when you're someone who deals with that. Watching it, like, well, like, pinching my own fat. Like, well, you know. Well, geez.
Ben
Yeah.
Ronnie
What. What are you saying about me? You know, So I think it comes off as. To me, Emily's just kind of offensive, and she always kind of has been in that. In that way. So. But, you know, here she is talking to Dr. Tim, and so Shannon's talking about how she's been seeing Dr. Tim forever, and she's doing her wacky, like, oh, don't paralyze me by stretching my.
Ben
Wow.
Ronnie
I fell down. I fell up a tee. It's like you were lying down. Well, okay. Well, that's true. That was a very slow intentional fall, but it was still wacky.
Ben
So, yeah, Dr. Tim is like, stretching and doing adjustments on them while asking them questions. And he's like, so food wise, what are you eating?
Ronnie
A chicken meatball. Wow.
Guest or Secondary Speaker
With just a little bit of panka.
Ronnie
Oh, God. Oh, it hurts.
Dani Pellegrino
That's Funny.
Ronnie
Wacky Shannon.
Ben
Oh, Wacky Shannon.
Ronnie
So this is new for Emily, doing this wacky kind of stretching. And he's like, okay, guys, just lay on the mat. No pain for me this time. Any questions? Give me a holla. Okay. So they. You know, this is all just an excuse for them to talk shit. So Emily asked Shannon why she was so quiet at her birthday. And Shannon's like, well, I was biting my tongue when you were having a discussion with Tamara. I thought that conversation was outrageous. That was outrageous. Here's what. Here's. I give that conversation four out of five.
Ben
I mean, what she was talking to you about the heart and eyes show that you. You were saying. You mean I heart.
Dani Pellegrino
Yes.
Ben
Is that what it's called? You don't even know what you're. You just were right. You just wanted to get mad at Tamara. I did. I did. I had no idea what the fight was about. So Emily's like, I just felt like we got to some kind of resolution. But then she said, now I could tell. I heart that you're allowed to go to events now. And we see a flashback that apparently at the Golden Girls party afterwards, Tamara was like, well, guess what?
Ronnie
We do a ton of fun things with iHeart.
Ben
And now you can be there. Because, like, before, I wouldn't allow it. And I'm just like, what, Do I have to be mad at you again? And she's like, no, I'm joking. I'm totally joking. That was totally a joke. It was not a joke. It was 100 not a joke.
Ronnie
Well, the intent of saying that was to remind me that she's up here
Ben
and I'm down here.
Ronnie
Well, I'm not gonna cut myself through that anymore. I don't put myself through traumatic things. Oh, God, here comes the guy who calls me fat again. Oh, God. He's grabbing my ankle and putting behind my ear. Oh.
Ben
You know, back when we used to have a motorized chandelier in my house, I. I would often compare myself to it and realize that it was often up there when I was down here. And my lesson in life is never compare yourself to a chandelier.
Ronnie
Oh, God.
Ben
Oh, chicken meatballs.
Ronnie
Oh. Just. I would get to remote, and I would press the down button, and I would hear. And I'd stand there for about 10 minutes, and when it got to eye level, I would say, chandelier. How dare you. And then I would move it back up and go about my day.
Ben
I would call it Shannon Delir. And then David would say, shannon delirious. And I Said, you just ruined my little joke for the chandelier. And he said, I don't care,
Ronnie
Shannon Deer. Oh, what about the chandelier? No. Shannon. Dear
Ben
David, why did you say I had to be switched out? I said the sh. I said the chandelier had to be switched out. You said chandandelier.
Ronnie
I'm pretty sure he promised me for years it was just the chandelier he switched out. And then he found that slut on the beach and switched me out. I should have known. I should have known.
Ben
I can't listen to Sia to this day. That's a double pun because she has a song about chandeliers. And also, Dave walked with a slut next to the sea.
Ronnie
What I told See ya. See ya.
Ben
See you later, David. And by see you later, David, do you see me? But by the way, I think Emily saying, like, it's a reminder that she's up here and I'm down here. Like, no offense, but she is up there and you are down there. Like she is podcast wise. Like, podcast wise. She is. It is her like network. She is up there. You're not getting lots of it. And she's like, he's like the ranking member.
Ronnie
Same things.
Ben
Yeah. Like, and she's also like the ranking member of this show. She's the. She's like, she's in the iconic housewives class now. She shouldn't rub it in your face. But she is up there and you are down there. Sorry.
Ronnie
Yeah, but that's crazy. Telling I heart. You better not invite Emily. I'm not gonna come to you. You better not do it. Like having that much control where I heart's like, oh, okay, we won't.
Ben
Because let's.
Ronnie
I feel like I heart would just invite all the podcasters. So I don't know that I believe this.
Ben
I. I think she says it to I heart. I don't think I heart pays it any mind. I heart will. There's no way. I heart does not invite Emily Simpson to something that just because Tamara says so. But there is definitely a way that Tamara makes Emily think that she's been excluded all this time.
Ronnie
Yeah. So Emily falls for it. Like she or she take. I shouldn't say fall for it. She takes it. And she's gonna make us another season long fight about it because it's Emily and that's how she rolls. But she's got a couple tricks up her sleeve this episode, which we'll get to later. So now we go to Sophia, moving into her apartment and wow, how Is it already a thrift store?
Ben
It looks crazy. It's like got green, a green tufted couch and then also this like Virgin Mary kind of painting. And everything is kind of like, like old world, but nothing matches. I don't judge it too hard because she's 22 or something like that. And you know, when you're 22 and 23, your furniture choices don't make any sense. But like it's, it's just a wild collection of hand me downs basically.
Ronnie
It's nice for me to see on a show especially you know these shows with rich kids everywhere. You see like next gen NYC and living in 20 million dollar apartments or whatever. They're. Well, this apartment's small. Hold on, let me go to my closet that I made out of a second bedroom in New York City. You know, you're like, oh. So it's nice to see a young person who kind of had to do it like most of us did and also not be just a basic ass model.
Ben
Yeah.
Ronnie
A base model. You know, just like every. Yeah. And like having her own kind of groovy style. And I mean, maybe it's a little heavy handed or like, wow, I'm unique. You know, I write songs about dead people with girlfriends or whatever her thing was last time. So you know, maybe it's a little over the top. But I mean, I think it's nice having kind of an original kid because then we get to the other kids in this episode. Yeah, mom, maybe I'm gonna take money from a guy in a store randomly. Yes, I prefer Sophia. You know, but you're right, you know, it's, it's like eclectic. No taste. It's like all kinds of no taste put together. It's all, it's dollar trees from every, every city in the state.
Ben
Every, every dollar tree in the forest. In the dollar forest. And I remember my first studio apartment here in Hollywood. It was on Argyle Avenue. And I didn't know what I was doing. I had a futon. There was no counter space. So I went to out of the closet and I got this little thing that became my counter. And then I got, I bought a dining table. It was like big circular dining table and I just bought it. I didn't measure because I just, I didn't think to measure. I just like, that looks like a nice table. I'm gonna get it. So most of my living room was, was taken up by a ginormous circular table. And it was, it was the craziest little studio apartment. But that's what you do when you're 23.
Ronnie
I was adorable, I have to say.
Ben
I'm sure yours was great.
Ronnie
Oh, my gosh, it was so tiny. And I had my little bed there, but I had a curtain that I. You know those see through curtains from Ikea you can get for really cheap. But I dyed it purple and then tied it with, like, a gold robe I found on the trash. And then, I mean, it had, like, really soft lighting and lamps that I got from thrift stores. I mean, it was so, so cute. You know, you could do it cute on a bed. Maybe hers will be cute. I don't know. She's just moving in there. Who knows? But she's Tamara's daughter, so that's it.
Ben
It didn't seem promising.
Ronnie
That was the end of the sentence.
Ben
I was just. No, I was just reflecting on the tufted. The green tufted couch.
Ronnie
Okay, well, they have a green tufted couch in Texas that is on the camera every day now. I'm. I'm paranoid about what you think about my green tufted couch.
Ben
No, you're. No, no, the. Your tufted couch looks great. This is just. You just go back and look at the footage and compare the footage to your. Your living room, and you will. You will sleep easily tonight. It's not a shaming. It's a. Isn't that funny? Because we were all 22 once, and some of us were. Did not have a design aesthetic like Ronnie at 22, and some of us still don't have it. By the way, I'd like to point
Ronnie
out, I don't know if I had a design aesthetic as much as an HGTV addiction. And I was like, I will make something out of nothing every day of my life. I made a curtain out of corks. Were we friends when I did that? You know, like beaded curtains. I needed something between my kitchen and my room, and so I made it. I made a curtain, like a beaded curtain out of corks. Because I worked at a restaurant, so we would save all the corks. I would save all the corks every night. And then I got a screw gun and I screwed them all together. It was so cool looking and such a good idea. And when I tell you I caught on that and pulled. Hold corks down on my head constantly, because corks are not made for that.
Ben
Let me tell you something. A curtain. A curtain of corks sounds like a musical number in a. Like, in a musical, like Fun Home. Like, it's like. It's my curtain of corks. It's like about like my dad was an alcoholic. Mother wasn't around. Dad liked the bottle, but I would hide away by the curtain of corks.
Ronnie
It's a curtain of corks. The curtain of cork. Squeak, squeak, squeak. Curtain of cork. So they are talking about this lady in a picture that she got from some thrift store or something. And check it's a vintage photo, Mom. She's like, who's that? It's Helen. Her dad was a jewelry maker. How do you know that? She told me, Mom. She told me. I talked to Spirit. Yeah, yeah, that's right.
Ben
Her dad was a jury maker and her sister's name was Tiffany.
Ronnie
Think about it, Mom.
Ben
So then Tamara's like. Sophia's, like, really upset on behalf of the ghost sister of Tiffany's. So. So anyway, Tamara starts talking about Vicki and how Vicky wants to have the Trace Amigos back. And Sophia's like, okay, well, how is that gonna happen? And Tamara's like, well, it's up.
Ronnie
I'm just that moving forward, she's like,
Ben
okay, so why don't you be neutral, Mom? And now we cut back to the chiropractor, and Shannon's phone rings, and it's Vicki calling up, and she's like, oh, my God, you guys. Break it out. I'm freezing. It's freezing. It's that sort of temperature where it's like, it's hot and cold at the same time on the inside. I know probably some gay guys on the Internet will talk about it someday, but the rain is horrible. So, Shannon, do you guys want to have lunch?
Ronnie
Oh, no. Just me and you. How that sounds, lovely Vicky? No, me, you, and Emma. We're going to have a chit chat. You have to come. No, I'm not taking no for an answer. Okay, you aren't coming. I'm saying no to your no. Okay. No, no, no. That means yes. Are you going to come? Just say yes. Jesus Christ.
Ben
It's not what Nancy Reagan said. Please try to do it. You better be.
Ronnie
Nancy Reagan died sober and miserable. Every gay person hated her.
Ben
Okay, okay, well, I don't. I don't know who's talking there, but you better. You better be there. Be square. I am working very hard to not be square, actually, but okay, whatever.
Dani Pellegrino
Just.
Ben
I'll see you there. The quiet woman. Okay,
Ronnie
well, you don't have to just go backwards, Shannon. Because she's like, I will not go back. I will not go back. Well, you don't have to. You can just sit across from her, articulate the way you feel and say, I have boundaries, but at least I'm not fat.
Ben
Oh, well, I thought. I thought we were okay after Amsterdam. And then at the reunion, she's like, you said shop in a very slow manner to me. Are we even friends now? We go back to Sophia's apartment and Tamara's like, I mean, I just can't
Ronnie
even imagine harboring bad feelings for two years.
Ben
Two years having bad feelings. I'm like, I'm sure we could probably find a two year span on this show where you were resentful. Oh, wait a second. Who was that person who was on the show last season? Oh, Gretchen Rossi. Gretchen Rossi. Yeah. Anyway, I can't imagine harboring feelings for as long as two years.
Ronnie
Yeah, that's crazy. Tamara cracks me up because this is Tamara's cycle where she's just awful to someone. I mean, awful. And she was horrible the whole year to Shannon last year, like, oh, really?
Guest or Secondary Speaker
What?
Ronnie
Shannon having a drink even after she got a dui? Alcoholic.
Dani Pellegrino
How'd you come?
Ronnie
Hey, we have a reservation for five. Shannon made it so it would be under alcoholic. Okay. Yeah. And then she's like, hey, what's the big deal? Why are you so mad at me? Can't say anything anymore.
Ben
I have to say, this is. I have been really leaning into my awful Women of Bravo lately, and
Ronnie
I
Ben
think I'm, like, officially a Tamra fan. Isn't that crazy? Oh, God, you know why? Because I watch these shows, like, I watch some of the shitty shows that come through. Like, I'm not trying to be, like, funny, like, whatever, but like McBee Dynasty for, you know, where there's, like, nothing happening on that show. And it just makes me appreciate the hard work of our villainesses. So I. I am so amused by all the bullshit that Tamara spews at all times. It's so self serving. Please never stop. I mean, it's just so funny. It's so funny.
Ronnie
Yeah, well, we did get. When Tamara was off the show, when she finally got fired and everybody rejoiced, we got a taste of what it would be like without Tamara. And it was not great. I mean, we had a great time recapping it for sure, but the show suffered bigly, Hugely. And so now to have her back, it's like, you know, she's wrong most of the time. She's horrible, but I don't have to hang out with her. And she makes. Makes good tv.
Ben
So she's a seasoned pro, and she's a seasoned pro. And I mean, I would argue that the Noella Season was fantastic of Orange County. A lot of people were, I think, a little cool on that one. I thought it was excellent. I think Noella, I. I would have preferred Noella to come back then. So far, like Carmela's not, not totally jumping off the page for me, but I'll give her some time.
Ronnie
But Carmela hasn't jumped off any page. I mean, she looks like a drawing and her face doesn't move at all. And it's confusing every time they show Carmela. I think it's a Sheena scene because she's got like the really long black, you know, tape ins or whatever she's got. And then she's pretty, I guess she just does. Nothing moves on her.
Guest or Secondary Speaker
So.
Ronnie
Yeah, it's not like that.
Ben
It's just.
Ronnie
It's not like it's nothing like that. It's just. I keep thinking it's Sheena and then I hear talking, but. But I don't. I literally can't tell who's talking. Sometimes I'm. Who was that? And was it one of the daughters? And then I rewind it and it was Carmela the whole time.
Ben
Yeah, she's like stained glass, like pretty. But what is it? Commercials? Here comes one right now.
Ronnie

Ben
So Tamara is talking about how she can't like imagine harboring bad feelings for two years. She would never harbor bad feelings for, for such a long amount of time. And she said try to move on
Ronnie
with Shannon, but I just feel like
Ben
she just wants me to be the
Ronnie
villain in the story.
Ben
So Shannon's like, does Tamara have, have amnesia that a couple of weeks ago she said some very horrible and hurtful things about me? I'm like, if. Unless it's, unless they show us some clips from this, they, they need to start showing some clips. I know it's going to be on the, on the girls trip, but they need to start showing some clips if this is going to be such a pivotal thing in their friendship.
Ronnie
I mean we all get it because we've seen, we've seen it a million times, right? I mean all you have to do is look at last season. All I have to do is show clips from last season of Tamara screaming at Shannon, calling her dumb drunk in pathetic drunk who's never going to get a man and all the other she said to her last year. But listening to Tamara be like, oh my gosh, everybody just wants me to be a villain off the chat. I just don't get it. I mean these puppies, these puppies with spots, all they just complain about me. I mean, Jesus Christ, babies. Sorry. I tried to make a call out of you once or twice. Like, Cruella deville doesn't cry. Okay, yeah, she just, she kills the puppies, she makes coats out of them and that's it. I don't want a rewrite of Cruella.
Ben
Yeah, yeah, I get it. So basically Sophia's like, mom, just like be like chill and just say let's move on, you know? So now we go to. Jen and Ryan are shopping and they're looking for some Valentine's Day decorations and Plants. He's obviously biting his tongue because he clearly wants to go to the painted denim store, but he's biding his time at this. At this chachki shop, and he's. They're, like, making some patter about, like. Like, you know, what the kids are up to and everything. And Jen is like, by the way, yeah, your daughter, she's doing so great. I'm so happy for her. And it's just. It's so funny, because I feel like managing the emotions of the kids just feels like a lot sometimes. Like, I've got to talk to Grayson, because I feel like this ticket. He's really beating himself up, like, a lot. Like, I mean, he drove, like, 120 miles per hour down the street. So, yeah, like, I would be. I would maybe have some regret.
Ronnie
His room with no Internet access right now. You should be beating him up mentally, not physically, obviously.
Ben
I feel bad for the kid we see later on. He's definitely, like, carrying a lot with him, but also, like, let's not. Let's not roll out the pity party on the speeding ticket just yet. Everything else, sure, but not the speeding ticket rounds.
Ronnie
Like, whoa. It's bigger than that. Okay. You know, I see changing Grayson, and this is it. He doesn't have a relationship with his dad. That's it, period. It's like, what? What do you mean? Oh, my God. It's Ryan again. You think this is all about Ryan every time? Not Ryan. Will. Are you saying this is all about Will again? Oh, my God. I can't believe it. I didn't even think of that. That's so crazy. Still. Still. This is still going on. She's still out to lunch as far as anything to do with her kids, and she seems like a good mom. Like, she's always there. We always see scenes with her kids where they're crying and hugging her.
Ben
Affectionate.
Ronnie
It's. Yeah. But she seems kind of out to lunch on what's actually going on, because every time Ryan drops a truth bomb, she's like, what? I think my son's upset. That is, he never sees his dad. That's still happening. I mean. I mean, we've been in this relationship forever. What has it been, two years? Thank you so much, Ryan. Thank you so much for telling me that. That breaks my heart.
Ben
It's like a teenage boy, like, in the. You know, with parents who are going through a tricky divorce. It's like, wow.
Ronnie
Wow.
Ben
I never thought about that before.
Guest or Secondary Speaker
Oh.
Ben
I'm like, Jen, right? I mean, and the way that she Also writes off what Ryan says. Like, oh, he's. When it comes to Ryan, everything's always about Will. Oh, the kids don't have a dad. Oh, the kids are going through a divorce. I'm like, jen, I think he's on to something here. I don't think he's on.
Ronnie
Well, yeah. And she's saying, yeah, I don't think it's. I thought, I mean, of course he'd love to see his dad more, but I just don't think that's it. I really just don't think that that's it. And Ryan says, you know, I mean, look, I would do anything to have a relationship with my. I mean, to not even say goodnight to them and tuck them in. I mean, not wake them up in the morning. That's crazy. Here's the thing. What we don't. We haven't really seen Will on the show. All we know is the history that they've told us that Jen and Ryan have told us. Jen cheated on Will. She was miserable. Relationship was not getting any emotional whatever from Will. She cheated with Ryan, left Will for Ryan. Will worked for her family company and then let go. So his got let go because there was this divorce. Right. If I'm following, if I'm remembering this correctly. So then he had no way to make the money to. So now he's living in some tiny apartment and they've got a million children. And meanwhile she's living with this guy who God knows where his money comes, his shady ass money comes from because his wasn't his business partner whoever just arrested last year. So he's shady as. And he's got all this money and they're on Instagram spending all this money on vacations and doing all of this stuff. And then meanwhile the dad's living in this like tiny one bedroom and can't afford to live in a place with all the kids. This is a cluster and I'm not even assigning blame here. I'm just saying cluster. And to be like, I just don't know why the kids are so upset. And then for him to be like, oh, yeah, Will doesn't even want to spend time with his kids and say good night.
Ben
Yeah, I mean, obviously it's like, it's like, it sounds like Will's been like a real problem. And then I think at the beginning of the season, she even alluded to the fact that their youngest son, their adopted son, was having some trouble in school. And she sort of like, she sort of like glossed over a little Bit she's like, oh. And you know, I forget. I forget the kid's name. Dabney or whatever. And he's just like, oh, Dabney. You know, he's had some challenges and I don't know, I don't know where that as Daphne Coleman jumped into my brain. I have no idea why that was.
Ronnie
You know, he's been trying to be the boss at this company and just all the women are so upset with him all the time.
Guest or Secondary Speaker
Time.
Ronnie
Like you can't even slap someone on the ass and call them toots anymore. It is crazy out there for Little D.
Ben
So like, obviously, like the kids are going through, you know, and like these things really do have repercussions. And so that's why I was kind of like. I was like, hello, Jen. Like, it's not as. It's not as like open and shut as this. Like it's. It's a complicated thing, you know, And I agree with you. I actually. She seems like she's. She is very loving and attentive, but I think she just doesn't get certain things. Shocker. News flash, Jen Patranti doesn't get certain things. Wow.
Ronnie
Shocker. Yeah, she seems a little. You know the term toxic positivity, I think that's kind of. Jen, where it's like, everything's okay, everything's okay. The house is on fire, we're all going to die. Like, it's not okay. I guess a fire joke, a good. A fire reference wasn't a good thing to make. You know, it's like things are literally falling apart, you know, that's when positivity kind of becomes toxic, you know?
Ben
Yeah.
Ronnie
So she's like, I don't get it because I have 100% custody of the kids. Why are we talking about Will? He's like, you're taking it personal. Honey, I'm talking about a father. It's like. But I am taking it personal because I'm trying to compensate for everything, you know? I mean, okay, their lives have changed. One, two. Everything that we've lost. Do you think I don't feel the fucking burden? I'm so tired. I'm just so tired all the time. I mean, on the flip side, doing. To be honest with you, I have to maintain shit with you because then it's too much for you and you don't like talking about my pain. So what am I supposed to do? Oh my God, let's just buy a dress with feathers. Can we just concentrate on buying a dress with feathers? But pink if it's available.
Ben
It's available. Get our 10cc's of hot pink feather dress. Stack that. Yeah. And I don't discredit anything that Jen is saying here. I am. Is not tough. And I know none of this is easy and none of this has a simple road map, but it is. It is just darkly amusing to me that, like, Ryan is saying some pretty ba. Making some very basic observations. And she's like, what? That's crazy. But he's like, okay, I'm gonna call a spade a spade. I feel like this is having an impact on the kids. Kids. Okay, Dad, I can hear okay. You're the broadest possible thing here.
Ronnie
Yeah. So she's like, I just want to know that Will's not always going to be in the middle of our relationship in our marriage. And he's like, yeah, I can't promise you that because now we have five kids or whatever. So Will is part of that. Like, what do you want me to tell you? It's like, okay, I hear that. Feathers. Now we go over to Heather's house. Heather is. Is binging out, which is so nice to see because we never really see Heather eat. And she puts three full pickles on her plate.
Ben
Wacky.
Ronnie
So add a girl.
Ben
See, I don't just eat caviar and no boo to go. I will also eat something of the people. A pickle. Isn't this hilarious? It's like I went to a carnival and got myself a pickle like any tour would, because I'm relatable.
Ronnie
So.
Ben
So.
Ronnie
Well, I hope someone. I hope someone with less money calls to complain about something insignificant. Oh, look, it's Emily. Hello, Emily. I'm eating a huge meal of pickles. What do you think of that, folk food?
Ben
Hashtag recession indicator,
Ronnie
let me tell you. Do you have any idea what's happened to the price of pickle? Me neither.
Ben
So Emily is like, whoa. Well, that party was crazy. When I first walked in, I couldn't find you guys because you're dressed like old people. But anyway, yeah, it was great. But I'm just. What did you think about it, Heather? Well, I thought it was great, but I think I'm just bummed by Jen. Oh, I'm sorry I said Jen smelled like a bum. That's what I usually think people smell like below the.
Ronnie
Jen's a bum.
Ben
Sorry.
Ronnie
Some of these pickles are making me loopy over here.
Ben
Sorry. Now that once you eat a pickle, you're just reminded of what people walking on the street smell like sometimes.
Ronnie
You know, on one hand, thank you for apologizing. On the other hand, are you just apologizing because you just want things to be peaceful, but there's no there there. Am I right?
Ben
There, there. That doesn't make any sense. What are you talking about? You're crazy. And she's like, look, I've been having such a great time with Jen, but now I really feel fucked over by her. Excuse my pickle language. We have a very different opinion of what friendship is. It's making me want to take a step back and then a step forward and then to the right and to the left and to the right. Sorry. That was choreo from my Syracuse days of doing anything to goes.
Ronnie
Oh, wait, I didn't tell you. Okay, so we left the birthday party, and there's this Dior shopping bag. And Shane's like, whoa, who got you that? And I said, carmela. And so we opened it to see what it was. It was a gold Dior clutch, and it was beautiful. But I remember at the party, she kept telling me, are you going to open your gifts? And then I thought, well, what, is she just trying to get me to open it so she could brag to the people that she could afford a Dior gift? I mean, what the hell kind of person does that? Oh, my God, you ungrateful.
Ben
This is so ungrateful.
Ronnie
Prick. Just say thank you for the purse. To call and talk somebody after they gave you a. How much is that purse? How much is a gold Dior purse? Let's look it up. Okay, go ahead.
Ben
I make $5,000 at least, if not more. But this is such a shitty thing. This is so.
Ronnie
So three grand, two grand. Five grand.
Ben
Yeah, but it's, like, shitty. Like, it's to call and then gossip about this gift, like she wants to have a moment or something. This is like reality star paranoia. Like, she clearly, like.
Ronnie
Like.
Ben
Like Carmela wanted of a moment. Like, all of you. Tacky. Haven't tried to do something like this before. You know, I think that karma. Yeah. Emily's not necessarily wrong. Like, Carmela may have wanted to have a moment where she could, like, brag about, this is what I got you. I think her coming in with the Dior bag sort of fulfilled feels. Excuse me, I'm. I'm burping out my disdain. But the Dior bag sort of fulfills that. But on top of that, like, may, why don't you give someone the benefit of the doubt that maybe she wants to see how delighted you might have been by the. The durbank Now, I'm not saying that that's what the intention was, but if you're trying to get to know someone and if you're trying to paint yourself as a nice person that you are, you would try to give someone the benefit of the doubt rather than calling up and complaining about it.
Ronnie
Yeah. I mean, look, one. Carmela I'm sure was doing it because she's on Housewives and you brag about your money, and she wanted to brag about her money. Okay? Anyone. Anyone whose birthday it was would have gotten that Dior purse. Okay, first of all. Yeah, but you don't.
Ben
You.
Ronnie
It's just ungrateful. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Especially on these shows. You never know what you're going to find in that mouth. Probably another head, like on Alien, where the, you know, the alien opens its mouth to eat you and then another little head comes out. This is Real Housewives. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. And second, why is it okay for you to exploit your small child who's going through whatever problems he has on TV for attention, but she's not allowed to exploit her purse? I mean, when are we going to start drawing the lines here? Okay, I think it's more tasteful to exploit the purse. Team Carmela on this one. I will take your gift. Thank you.
Ben
So Heather's like, yeah, we really.
Ronnie
Are you going to exploit a purse or a person? Which is better?
Ben
I like that. Are we really thumbing our nose at a Dior clutch? I mean, big deal. They cost as much as a Joe Bazooka. Whatever. Everyone has a Dior clutch, but you don't turn your nose up at it. How much does it cost? $5, $10? Come on. So, Heather. So Emily's like, what's more expensive, a
Ronnie
Dior purse or a pickle? I don't know.
Ben
Oh, no. I spilled some relatable pizza on myself because that's what I am. Just a lady eating pickles and occasionally pizza on the street. The tip of the triangle goes in the mouth, not the side of the triangle. What? Now you're eating the pickle like a corn gobble. This is how you eat a pickle, is it not?
Ronnie
Speaking of pickles, that wasn't the only thing in that gift bag. There was also a vibrator. It looked just like your pickle. It's like, oh, wow, a vibrator. Let me open my mouth in shock. I can't believe the bad manners of vibrator. And so I think I. I think
Ben
this is maybe slightly clarifying on two ends. So maybe Emily was saying, like, my first instinct was like, oh, God, was she trying to have a moment with me? And then I realized she was trying to have a jokey moment. Still, having that first instinct is not great. But then now it's even clearer that Carmela, yes, she wanted to brag about the. The Dior, but she also wanted to have a funny, like, fun games, like is R and I. Like a ball of jokes and fun moments of, like, the vibrator. Or she wanted to see Emily's surprise. I just think that it's crazy that Emily grafted such.
Dani Pellegrino
Such.
Ben
You know, such ulterior mode, like, grafted such suspicion onto this moment that, like, this is just so ridiculous.
Ronnie
Yeah, now you're gonna get offended about the dildo, the vibrator. You know, it's like she's getting mad at two gifts. I would have been happy with either. I mean, someone gave you something, you know? So Heather acts horrified, and Terry comes in, and they tell him about it, and he goes, oh, yeah, I get it. You're supposed to open it.
Dani Pellegrino
It.
Ronnie
And then she goes, if you don't like the bag, you can go yourself. Isn't that good? And Heather goes, please stroke him so I don't have to. Tonight, weren't you just horrified by a vibrator? Now we have to listen to you talking about stroking off your husband? Come on. Yeah, make up your mind. Are we furious or not? Huh?
Ben
I said, is that the right choice of words for Terry? So, by the way, Terry was the only one who did get that joke.
Ronnie
Joke.
Ben
And. And then sort of like, as he says that, you realize that was clearly her intent was to make. Have a silly pun moment. And she's also trying. I think she was. I think. I agree. I think she was. I mean, she's clearly making vibrators. Like, her personality. Like, that's her thing. Like, I love vibrators, but the point is flops all around.
Ronnie
Thought it was just, like, a silly joke. Like someone's, like, trying to be fun. I really should give you something fun. Fun. I mean, I just.
Ben
I mean, think too deeply about it, you know?
Ronnie
I'm just not ready to give Carmela that credit yet. It's not you. I don't know this person. And now look, Emily has already got me fighting to the death for this Carmela person because Emily is such an. That is Emily's power on this show. She's such an. That she gets you rooting for whoever she's against because Emily's just classically wrong in every fight.
Ben
Carmela no Pano, which is so originally, it was Carmela Soprano, and that became Carmela no Prano, and it became Carmela no Pano. The irony of me making a joke about Carmela not being able to make a pun by changing her last name into a pun that's so disordered from its original attack that it also is not a pun is not lost on me. So now we go to Todos Santos restaurant for another cold 10am vibe meal. And Vicky, Jen, and Gina are having brunch. Gina shows up in her ode to Diane Keaton wearing a tie and a blazer, which I'm not opposed to for anyone. I loved it on Kyle Richards actually, last season, but I don't know why. For Gina, it just is silly to me. I don't know why I felt like she was. I felt like she was in a school play.
Ronnie
The best thing about Gina's outfits, it's the whole day. And it's huge shoulder pads. It's the gigantic, oversized football cartoon football player shoulder pads. I don't know why she's wearing them, but she wears them here. She wears them in her confessional.
Ben
She's.
Ronnie
I think it's. I'm a. I'm a person with slouchy posture. I have Bette Midler posture, and so does Gina. You know, some of us just have those shoulders, the slumpy shoulders. And Gina is one of those people. And I think that people give her so much shit on the Internet that now she's wearing huge shoulder pads to offset it. So at a certain angle, it looks like she's standing up straight, even though it's just, like, a big block of shit on her. I don't know what she's doing, but it's insane. And I was laughing every time she came at me. I'm in business now. I'm gonna show them.
Ben
Yeah, I mean, I think that look is sort of in. I think, like, the. The large proportions may be having a moment. But either way, I think your theory does hold weight. It reminds me of. Are you watching Project Runway at all, or did you watch it last season? There's a designer on there named Joseph McCray who does these, like, big blockchain shoulders. By the way, for those wondering Freeform slash, Hulu has absolutely destroyed Project Runway. It is so bad now. Like, it is so, so bad. It's like. It's embarrassingly bad. I mean, it's still a waste. Well, I think this is third season. Maybe second or third season. That's been on Hulu. They're trying to be more like Drag Race. And so instead of it being really like, hey, these are people from the. From fashion. A lot of the people are still, like, the designers are still legit, but, like, instead of the vibe being like, we're a serious show about designers that we want to make, we want to see who's the best one who we can find a new voice in fashion and lift them up, and we're gonna have, like, some serious judges, yada, yada, yada. Now it's like, it's all about cattiness. It's all about the. The designers, like, like, reading scripted lines. It's all about. They. They have, like, a lot of sort of stunts in there to make it, like, very reality show competitiony, like Big Brother. It's not like, obviously, endurance competitions, but, like, they have to make these choices that just were not in the original. And they are just really trying to be as, like, funny and snarky as Drag Race, but, like, failing, like, because Drag Race is Drag Race. Drag Race does the Drag Race thing. That's what they're good at. That. And. And this one's just, like. It's, like, embarrassing, you know? It's. It's really, really embarrassing.
Ronnie
So it makes me sad to hear about Project Runway.
Ben
I know.
Ronnie
Bravo. Classic.
Ben
I know. I mean, the formula still will always work because it's still fun to see people sew, have people break down before the Runway. You see what comes out. I do love that, but it's just too. It's like, just. It's missing the mark now. It makes me so sad. It's so sad. It's like if Top Chef suddenly started becoming, like, a Food Network show, you know?
Ronnie
Oh, God. Food Network. I haven't watched that one in a long time.

Watch What Crappens #3474 – RHOC S20E03 Part 1: "Amiga Standoff"
Released: July 24, 2026
Hosts: Ben Mandelker & Ronnie Karam
In this episode, Ben and Ronnie dive into The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 20, Episode 3 — "Why Can't We Be Friends?" They recap the major storylines, especially the ongoing "Amiga" (Tamra, Shannon, Vicki) tensions, quirky family moments, and Bravo's signature blend of shade, sarcasm, and self-parody. The hosts also digress into design disasters, body image discussions, and the peculiar evolution of Bravo spinoffs and fashion on the show.
The episode is packed with the hosts’ signature blend of campy, sarcastic, and deeply self-aware banter, with plenty of personal tangents and cultural/lifestyle asides. Their takes on body image, family drama, Bravo’s reality tropes, and the eternal parade of questionable OC fashion make the recap equal parts biting and relatable for Bravo superfans.
Even if you haven't seen the actual RHOC episode, this podcast recap captures the show’s most absurd and relatable moments, delivers a meta-commentary on Bravo’s formula, and serves up both shade and affection for every Housewife and storyline.
