This week’s episode features a story. Jordan and Colin went camping in Algonquin park over a long weekend that included some scary weather, fast moving water, and a couple friends who needed to be pushed in the right direction. With over 100 km to go on their back country camp trip, Jordan and Colin were thrown into the Petawawa River. What happened next? Did they make it out ok? Join us this week to find out!CONTACT INFORMATIONEMAIL US // thewmipodcast@gmail.comINSTA // @WEMADEIT.PODCASTSUBREDDIT // r/WeMadeItPodcastTIKTOK // @WEMADEITPODCAST__________________________________________________RECORDING EQUIPMENTColin & Jenna both use this recording equipment: MAONO Microphone and HeadsetTHEME MUSICOur offspring and background music by:DJ QUADS - Bouquet of roses__________________________________________________SUPPORT & SHAREShare with your family and friends Listen to us on Apple podcast, Spotify, Breaker, Google podcasts, Overcast, Pocketcast & Radiopublic! Colin reports back on his trip to London, On where theyve converted an apartment building into Supportive Housing Units. These units are designed for the homeless to have a safe place to recover after a visit to the hospital. We discuss the unfortunate reality where there is always someone that can make a group of people look bad, sort of like Dane Cook’s bit, “Brian’s Coming”. Is working at work always necessary? Does it always mean better work? We discussed a lot about work and jobs and terrible bosses and the book “Bullshit Jobs” by David Graeber. If your job disappeared, would the world notice? What does work-life balance mean to you, does your boss know too? All that and more on this week’s Ep!CONTACT INFORMATIONEMAIL US // thewmipodcast@gmail.comINSTA // @WEMADEIT.PODCASTSUBREDDIT // r/WeMadeItPodcastTIKTOK // @WEMADEITPODCAST__________________________________________________RECORDING EQUIPMENTColin & Jenna both use this recording equipment: MAONO Microphone and HeadsetTHEME MUSICOur offspring and background music by:DJ QUADS - Bouquet of roses__________________________________________________SUPPORT & SHAREShare with your family and friends Listen to us on Apple podcast, Spotify, Breaker, Google podcasts, Overcast, Pocketcast & Radiopublic! Would you just look at the state of that. Does anyone in Canada feel good about the economy? We don't know about you guys, but we definitely don’t feel good about it and we certainly don't know enough about the problems. We’ve heard about the great depression and we definitely know about the 2008 recession – are we headed in any direction resembling either of those things? After commiserating about how expensive everything is, we pivoted to discuss traffic circles, sped bumps and poor city planning (again?). Are you aware of the new driving laws coming into effect 1 July 2025? You should get familiar and we can help!CONTACT INFORMATIONEMAIL US // thewmipodcast@gmail.comINSTA // @WEMADEIT.PODCASTSUBREDDIT // r/WeMadeItPodcastTIKTOK // @WEMADEITPODCAST__________________________________________________RECORDING EQUIPMENTColin & Jenna both use this recording equipment: MAONO Microphone and HeadsetTHEME MUSICOur offspring and background music by:DJ QUADS - Bouquet of roses__________________________________________________SUPPORT & SHAREShare with your family and friends Listen to us on Apple podcast, Spotify, Breaker, Google podcasts, Overcast, Pocketcast & Radiopublic! Are you a small town or a big town kind of person? Coming to you on location at Algonquin College where Colin slowly realizes that Ottawa might just be the most boring city. For our listeners out there, especially the ones who have lived in or around the area, what are your thoughts on the City? Do you find it boring? Did it provide for all your needs? Is there an age group this City is geared towards, or do they just not care about anything? Where did you grow up? Was it for you? Or did you want to leave and never come back? What changed about the place, or you, that changed how you felt about it?CONTACT INFORMATIONEMAIL US // thewmipodcast@gmail.comINSTA // @WEMADEIT.PODCASTSUBREDDIT // r/WeMadeItPodcastTIKTOK // @WEMADEITPODCAST__________________________________________________RECORDING EQUIPMENTColin & Jenna both use this recording equipment: MAONO Microphone and HeadsetTHEME MUSICOur offspring and background music by:DJ QUADS - Bouquet of roses__________________________________________________SUPPORT & SHAREShare with your family and friends Listen to us on Apple podcast, Spotify, Breaker, Google podcasts, Overcast, Pocketcast & Radiopublic! This week we wonder if our parents’ generation have a different perspective on their relationship with time, specifically as they are retired. How much free time do the retired folks in your life expect you to have? Are you the kind of person that needs a plan before doing anything, or are you a free spirited individual who feels life can be more fun when you let it take you where it wants to go? Some people can be both, but they don’t switch well between the two. Don’t let bad communication upset you or the people you’re talking with. Most of us aren’t as good at communicating as we like to think we are. We talk about Pareto’s Law, the 80/20 rule; typically expressed as 20% of the knowledge gives you 80% of the results. Sometimes heard as 80% of the people consume 20% of our time. Are you getting the results you need from the things you’re trying to learn or apply? Maybe think about what that 20% might look like in your situation and get after it!CONTACT INFORMATIONEMAIL US // thewmipodcast@gmail.comINSTA // @WEMADEIT.PODCASTSUBREDDIT // r/WeMadeItPodcastTIKTOK // @WEMADEITPODCAST__________________________________________________RECORDING EQUIPMENTColin & Jenna both use this recording equipment: MAONO Microphone and HeadsetTHEME MUSICOur offspring and background music by:DJ QUADS - Bouquet of roses__________________________________________________SUPPORT & SHAREShare with your family and friends Listen to us on Apple podcast, Spotify, Breaker, Google podcasts, Overcast, Pocketcast & Radiopublic! We pay tribute to Cassy’s Opa Joe in this week's episode, a man who truly lived up to his own expectations.Which would you prefer to be blissfully ignorant or painfully aware? In this episode we talk about the joys of being stupid and the burdens of knowing better. We discuss the ever pressing demand to meet other people’s expectations and how we forgot to meet our own expectations. Do you live up to your expectations, or are you measuring yourself against others’? Some Tepid Takes with Colin: have you forgotten how to be who you are? So many demands and responsibilities in our day to day lives we feel like we’ve forgotten the things we used to enjoy. What better way to come down from all the Easter excitement than with another great episode of We Made It. Again, our meandering journey of conversation touches on many fascinating topics. We discuss how immeasurable attractive Steve Carrell has become in his later years, the pains of having to grow up, like having your fingers caught in a car door, and how parenting can almost be summed up as teaching your children how to deal with pain. Before you listen to this episode, let’s play a little game of who said it. I’ll give you two statements, and you guess if Jenna or Colin said it. 1) I like my men natural, and 2) I’m glad they brought back blue eyes and big tits. Who dunnit? We leave you with one last question to ponder. Was Charles Manson a Zaddy? All this and more in this episode of We Made It! Happy Easter everyone! Whether you celebrate Easter or not, we hope that you have a great weekend with the people who bring you joy in life. In this weeks’ episode, Oat Milk Money, we want to know what grocery item you’d continue buying no matter the price. You might be surprised by some of the answers. If you could name your brain, what name would you give it and why? Do you think maybe you’d talk to yourself more than you already do? When someone says something that just grinds your gears, how do you stop it from happening? Do they change? Do you change? Both? We also want to know what things you’re talking about these days. Do you discuss people, events, or ideas? I suppose we all do a little bit of everything.
