Julie Foudy
When we found out that Abby's voice
Glennon Doyle
was gone, I had to step in. I was being pulled off the bench.
Abby Wambach
Yeah.
Glennon Doyle
At the biggest moment of the game.
Abby Wambach
It's true. Some of the NFL players were then asking me menstruation questions.
Glennon Doyle
It was.
Abby Wambach
It was incredible.
Julie Foudy
Flo Baligan, y', all, his red card suspension had been overturned. I was like, what?
Glennon Doyle
I think that it is tainted for the first time in my life. In the shower this morning, I thought the sentence, I feel bad for the men. I've never said that before to myself, ever.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
Attention,
Abby Wambach
the party is about to commence.
Julie Foudy
Welcome to the party.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
What's up, party people?
Julie Foudy
I'm Julie Foudy.
Glennon Doyle
And I am Glennon Doyle, filling in for an Abby Wambach who has lost her voice.
Abby Wambach
Yeah, and I'm Abby Wambach, a bit scratchy from too much soccering and wedding.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
Wedding ing.
Julie Foudy
You sound actually better, party people. Literally, Abby on Saturday had no voice. Like, none. She.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
She couldn't talk. And then. I don't know why I'm laughing about that.
Julie Foudy
It's not funny.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
I'm sorry for you, Abby, because this
Julie Foudy
used to happen to me all the time. And then on Sunday, it was a little bit more squeaky, and now we're to Monday, and it just sounds sexy.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
I mean, what is this?
Abby Wambach
Thank you for calling it sexy. I don't. I don't find it sexy. Look, I've been. Can you tell them?
Glennon Doyle
Sure.
Abby Wambach
This is what Glennon's doing. She's filling in for me. She's going in. When I feel like I can't talk for a little bit, she will fill in.
Glennon Doyle
Yeah. And then she just looks at me and says, can you say it? And I have to figure out what it is, so I just make it up. So what I think she wants me to say now is, is that in our home, there's been so much yelling. And it's not like. It's not really. It's not like scary, violent yelling. It's just the TV is always on, the soccer all day. And then Abby doesn't have any control over herself during these times, so she yells so loud and so long. And then on top of that, we went to a wedding, which you may have heard of this weekend, Taylor and Travis's wedding. And there was a lot of screaming there. And then halfway through the night, Abby's voice just absolutely disappeared.
Julie Foudy
Just no more.
Abby Wambach
It just was like, bye, bye.
Glennon Doyle
Not scratchy, just Julie. It was gone. She could not say any words, which was so maybe the scariest thing to ever Happen to me. I'd like to center myself here in this experience because Abby is the one who speaks for us at social events.
Abby Wambach
Yes.
Glennon Doyle
And so then suddenly I had to step in and I didn't know what to do. It was like I was being pulled off the bench. Yeah. At the biggest moment of the game.
Abby Wambach
It's true, actually. It is so true. Because, like, I can small talk all day long. Like, I can small talk with a wall, Julie. You know this. And so we are a good match when we go to events, because I can. And then I literally. We'd run into somebody and I would, like, lean into Glennon's ear and whisper and tell. And say, tell them this.
Glennon Doyle
It was so awkward. It was. Was so awkward. And we. I mean, we've been to things. We've been to events that are three hours long. And we'll get in the car and Abby will go, wasn't that amazing? And I will say, did you not notice that? I did not say one word the entire event? And she will say, no, I didn't notice that.
Abby Wambach
Do you prefer it that way?
Glennon Doyle
Yes.
Abby Wambach
Yeah. So this is work.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
That way. Wait, wait.
Julie Foudy
Glennon, how did you do?
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
I could see you with your big eyes. All of a sudden they're like, what? You lost your voice?
Julie Foudy
You did great. I know you did.
Glennon Doyle
I did. All right. But let me just tell you that the certain circumstance we were in at this wedding, because at this wedding, it was all. It was half Taylor's people and half men that were so tall and large and were using a vocabulary that I have no experience with. And then there was this, and that's what I was translating for. So I need you to understand that this.
Abby Wambach
I need you to imagine NFL speak.
Glennon Doyle
I need you to imagine that almost all the conversations were Abby and then a horseshoe of nine foot men around her. Also, there's a dynamic I've never seen where a group of men have so much respect for a woman that they are asking her questions about the sports and then listening to her answers. I was. It was like an anthropological experiment for me. I was like, what is going on? But what I need you to understand is the horseshoe would ask Abby a question about the World Cup.
Abby Wambach
Yeah.
Glennon Doyle
And then Abby would ask me to tell them what she thinks.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
Oh, my God.
Abby Wambach
Yeah, it was.
Glennon Doyle
And I couldn't even see them.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
I couldn't even see that. Travis's wedding, at the wedding without Abby.
Abby Wambach
Julie, do you want to know something? We got into a conversation with. With. With one of the NFL guys wives, because she listens to our show. And I don't want to, like, name people's names. That's not what we're going to do here. But what we are going to do is talk about what then transpired as the conversation in this horseshoe. She was talking about our Emma Hayes episode and how interesting it was to her for us to be learning and for her to also be learning about women's menstrual cycles and how important it is to understand that as a female athlete. And then some of the NFL players were then asking me menstruation questions. It was incredible.
Glennon Doyle
It was a moment for the ages. It was. I mean, my wife.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
I love this so much.
Glennon Doyle
Is so cool that she used her voice in the NFL horseshoe to bring up periods.
Abby Wambach
It was awesome. It was awesome.
Glennon Doyle
And all of them were like, oh, okay, we're doing this.
Abby Wambach
Yeah. But this is where. This is where the intersection between an artist and an athlete really does happen. And here's the deal. Athletes are curious about this stuff because it's body related. Right. And, like, this is where, like, the Travis and the Taylor of it all, or, like, the Glennon and the Abby of it all can really connect. And it was just fascinating. Like, the whole thing was so fascinating.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
I'm going to ask a few questions. I know you guys are like, we don't want to talk about it, but
Julie Foudy
I'm going to ask a few. You can say later. You can say, no, you don't want to talk about this. But I will say that when we found out that Abby's voice was gone, Glennon was like, put me in, coach. I'm here for. For my wife. So, like, the fact that you raised your hand then, Glennon, after now learning
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
you had to do this the entire
Julie Foudy
wedding, I just like my heart.
Abby Wambach
Big heart.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a guest or ad voice)
Yeah.
Abby Wambach
Big love.
Glennon Doyle
Oh.
Julie Foudy
I mean, you're being a great teammate. You're being a great wife.
Glennon Doyle
I'm being a teammate. I'm being a team player.
Abby Wambach
And she was right. So the morning of, she had to fly home. Yeah. And then I had a train to Philly to do an event with literally no voice. And she was like, I'm coming with you. I'm just gonna come with you. And I was like, no, you need to go home, because our kids are July4 thing on their own at our
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a guest or ad voice)
house with both friends.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
How'd that turn out?
Abby Wambach
I was like, you go home. And she's like, well, whatever you need for Monday, I'm gonna be ready. And I just. I love you so much for doing this. Even though, like, I kind of can talk, although I shouldn't be. And you want to know something I learned?
Julie Foudy
Yeah.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
You're not supposed to.
Abby Wambach
You shouldn't whisper. Whispering's worse. Do you know why, Julie? I don't even know why.
Julie Foudy
I don't know why. But what you shouldn't do is push. Just like you have a mic in front of you, because the mike's gonna pick it up.
Glennon Doyle
That's right. That is the point of it.
Julie Foudy
Just don't see.
Abby Wambach
I push. I'm a pusher.
Julie Foudy
I know. Me, too. It's so hard to shut us down. We're talkers.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
I'm like, I gotta. Okay. Before the Little League World Series, I
Julie Foudy
came from Paris Olympics, which I will remind you, all, the United States Women's National Team won. I called that game. I partied with the team. I did not sleep.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
I.
Julie Foudy
Right. And then I had to go fly straight to a Little League World Series and talk for 12 hours a day, and I lost my voice. And I. Same thing, Abby. I could not even get, like. And then I just had to. They. They took me off air.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
First day, they shut me down for a day, and then it came back, but it was. Oh, man.
Julie Foudy
Man, it was a lot. Because that's a lot of talking happening every day. Okay. We're also going to chat today about Kelsey Finler. And, y', all, if you don't know who Kelsey Finler is, I've talked to you about her.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
You must know, because she's the rower, Glenn.
Julie Foudy
And yes, she rode 2,400 miles solo, like, alone, y', all, from California to Hawaii. To Hawaii. She broke multiple records. We're gonna talk about her a little bit and hit her in the party starter. And we hope to have her on her show one day soon as well. But you know what? We have to talk about Abigail, because this. I. I mean, this is blowing up. This is Monday morning. We're recording this. This is going to be in the, you know, 30 minutes we talk about this or the 15 minutes we talk about this. It's going to be completely different by
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
the time we get off.
Abby Wambach
It's true air.
Julie Foudy
Because Flo Baligan, y', all, the commotion and news around that. I mean, I think we all woke up to the news on Sunday that his red card suspension had been overturned, delayed, essentially. And literally, I was like, what? I mean, Joy, I'm running around the house. The kids are screaming. We're all like, what is happening? This is amazing. And. And then I woke up on Monday today, and I was like, trump called it feels a little different. It feels a little icky. I literally said to the kids, well, you know what happened? Trump called Johnny in Ficino. I said that to the kids. I go, he for sure called Johnny, right?
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
Not knowing that he did, but I knew he had.
Julie Foudy
And of course, it turns out Trump confirmed today, on Monday, that he called Gianni Infantino, the president of FIFA. I will spare you the technical language that FIFA gave in the ruling, but it basically was that they are going to delay this. This one game suspension, and it they give him, like, a probation period of one year. They've actually done this before, and it should be noted. So FIFA actually did this with Cristiano Ronaldo coming into this tournament. He'd earned a suspension prior to the World cup, but this is the first time they've done it during the World Cup. That's the. That's the difference. And now the rest of the world is freaking out.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
Freaking out.
Abby Wambach
Rightfully so. They're fuming.
Julie Foudy
I think, like many Americans, I was like, hell, yes. Because that was never a red card to begin with. This is what I was. I was very adamant about this to the point where I was like, you know, the. The phrase two wrongs don't make a right? I was like, well, the red card was wrong. Red card call. Wrong. Trump calling his pal Gianni, wrong. Baligan playing. It feels right. It feels right. But. But today I'm like, yuck. I'm no longer. Yay. I'm yuck.
Abby Wambach
I have icky.
Julie Foudy
I have icky feelings because I just am worried that Trump is always messing things up. Now it feels tainted. And this US Team has done so much goodness and given us so much joy and has played amazing. And the country is rallying in a really good way around this really wholesome, awesome story. And the way they're playing, the way that even Baligan accepted the red card and the humility in which he said, did you see the quote? This was on Friday when he got it. He said, look, I never want to reach out. I never want to react out of anger and out of emotion. We have to show little kids the correct way to handle things. Even when you think it's unjust, even though you can feel like some kind of unjustice happened to you with that red card given to him. It's not an excuse to be disrespectful, to not do the right thing. And then you have Trump coming in, and now it just feels like even if they do win against Belgium, the rest of the world is going to Feel it's tainted. And so I just am like, oh, God. Again, inserted himself. Why does he have to always friggin insert himself?
Abby Wambach
I know. I think that actually this is a perfect moment for Glennon to opinionate because she's not as in inside of the sports industry like you and I are, Jules.
Julie Foudy
Yeah.
Abby Wambach
Because we know what it's like to be the men in the men's position right now. Do you have any opinions about this? I'm super curious.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
His eyes. Why do you make me talk with.
Glennon Doyle
I mean, I want to first say I have respect for the fact that I don't understand completely the religion of sports. Okay. Like, all that goes into winning as the. As the enlightenment, as the goal. Okay. As the place you're going to. I think it's absolutely disgusting. I don't think that it's. It's that it feels tainted. I think that it is tainted. I think for the first time in my life, in the shower this morning, I thought the sentence, I feel bad for the men. I've never said that before to myself, ever. I feel bad for this team. I. I feel that the one thing that we actually all talked about before, which was that one of the beautiful things about watching this World cup has been watching a set of collective rules be respected and a bit of honor feeling restored and a bit of safety feeling restored by that. And this, that's gone. We are doing American exceptionalism. We are doing fascism. We are giving the dad who calls the school and says, I'm rich so my son won't suffer any consequences. We are. Abby has told me a million times as we've watched our daughter play that bad calls are just a part of sports.
Abby Wambach
Sports.
Glennon Doyle
You don't. You don't. You don't get daddy to call to fix a bad call. And it is not just the rest of the world that is disgusted by this. It is people like me who actually had hope for a minute, who actually, like, put on red, white, and blue for a minute, who actually, like, thought, oh, my gosh, maybe this is something that can bring the country together. And Trump, for me, did ruin it. And I feel. I don't feel like putting on a jersey today. And it's not out of a lack of support for this team. It's just an absolute lack of faith in any integrity in the entire FIFA system, which we already knew. We already knew that FIFA, I mean, between Infantino and when second Infantino gave the fucking Peace Prize, like, we knew this was coming. We knew this was gonna happen. But I feel Terrible for Baligan. I know this won't happen, but I feel like the only thing that they could do is not play him right and that that is how to handle injustice is to do. And I know that that won't happen, but it may.
Abby Wambach
So I am heartbroken, I really am, because. Politics and governments should not meddle in sport like this. This is unfair. And I'm a fairness junkie. Like, I really am. Like, the reason why I play sports is because there is an agreed upon amount of fairness that is supposed to be happening. And I understand that sport is inherently unfair based on different body sizes and different skills and different talent levels and, you know, all the things. But our men's team and Baligan especially are going to take unnecessary heat from something that they had nothing to do with both sides of it. I felt like the red card was unjust. It was harsh. So for. For us to play down a man for those 30 plus minutes was unfair. Okay? We just have to accept it and move on. And to learn that, you know, Trump is now behind the scenes trying to orchestrate and then. And then talk about what he's doing is just. It's disgusting to me, of course, because
Glennon Doyle
he could have shut up about it. He wanted. He wants everybody to know that's what.
Julie Foudy
That's exactly.
Glennon Doyle
He wants to know that he control. He wants us to know that he controls every bit of.
Abby Wambach
There's a part of me that feels like this is his attempt to fire up and piss off the left. Because to un.
Glennon Doyle
To un.
Abby Wambach
Unify exactly like that is part of what I'm like trying to rail against right now. Because there is a big part of me that's like, obviously I want to cheer for the men's team because they had nothing to freaking do with this. But also I don't want to cater to the bullshit that the leaders of, you know, our government and the leaders of FIFA who are in corrupt systems are doing on the behalf and in. In. In the name of this men's team who has been doing such a beautiful, beautiful thing for our country, which is to unite us.
Glennon Doyle
Julie, you should have seen Abby this morning. I mean, I just. It's so sad to me because the energy in our house and you maybe relate. Like the energy in our house has been so beautiful. It's been upbeat, it's been excited. I mean, we've had house full of kids. The kids friends are over the. Like, it just. And then this morning, Abby, I just walk in and she's just sitting on the couch and she's Just so sad. And for everybody, for the men, for the country. But for herself, like, she was.
Abby Wambach
Yeah.
Glennon Doyle
Excited. And our whole heart was in it.
Abby Wambach
And now, as a competitor, I also know what it's like to be in the position that the men are in, that they're like. They're at the mercy of the rules that they're handed. And so they were at the mercy of the red card, and they were like, all right, we move on. They did their.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a guest or ad voice)
They.
Abby Wambach
They're doing their job. And then now they're at the mercy of the rules that they're handed, and they're like, okay, we have to move on and do our job. But now the whole world hates us again.
Julie Foudy
Again. Again.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
We had gotten so much goodwill out of this World Cup.
Abby Wambach
We're the underdogs in this circumstance, and now we're the freaking Goliath again.
Julie Foudy
Yeah.
Abby Wambach
That people want to fucking take down. And I'm just like, I'm so tired of it. Because innocent people and their real lives get negatively affected by when big institutional power comes in and tries to, you know, heavy hand and cheat. And I'm. I'm just. I'm. I'm so. I'm just so mad, and I don't know what to do about it. I feel very conflicted.
Julie Foudy
It is something. It is. To your point, Glennon, it is a religion for so many people. And if people don't believe in the sanctity of that.
Abby Wambach
That's right. Then it's gone.
Julie Foudy
It's gone. All of the specialness of a World cup goes away.
Glennon Doyle
Right now, America, more than America, needs to win the next game, America needs to signal to the world that we are more than corrupt fascists. Like, America needs that win even more than they need this win.
Julie Foudy
Yes.
Glennon Doyle
On the field, I feel like I was saying to Abby, like, they need to, like, call the wnba. Like, I feel like the WNBA would know what to do. I don't know that the U.S. men's
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
National Team knows what to do and get this sorted.
Glennon Doyle
They would know how to. How to move next, you know, to, like.
Julie Foudy
Can you imagine, though, if Baligan is allowed to play, which, as when we're recording this at 9:30am so far, he is. I haven't seen any breaking news yet,
Abby Wambach
but we're recording breaking news team.
Julie Foudy
But can you imagine if Pochettino and his staff and the US Team said, let's not play him and make a statement to the world? To your point, Glennon, I mean,
Abby Wambach
that would be. We might come back.
Julie Foudy
I would cry.
Abby Wambach
I would Cry too happy tears.
Julie Foudy
Because we have someone that, like, honors the things that we used to be as a country
Glennon Doyle
or hope to one day be as a country. You know, like, I. And all of this just let us say, poor Baligan. I mean, good God. Like, he's having the tournament no matter what happens. This is just too much for one kiddo to hold.
Julie Foudy
Like, yeah, okay. If the US does win over Belgium, with or without Baligan, it would send the US to its first World cup quarterfinal since 2002. And they would play the winner. This game is happening right before the US Game. It would play the winner of Spain or Portugal. And we should all be reminded a quarterfinal appearance is the best the US has done for the men's team in the modern era.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a guest or ad voice)
What are you most particular about when it comes to grocery shopping?
Julie Foudy
My fruit. I cannot stand when bananas are already too ripe. They have to be the perfect green or the under the other way. Yeah, they're too green. Right. And you also have to, like, factor in, like, they're going to last more than three days. So I try and kind of get a. A combo of a little more green and then a little less. So I'm very particular about my fruit. Like, if you get strawberries that are already molding in the box or raspberries.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a guest or ad voice)
Yeah. It's so annoying. All right, so what's something that you've then recently got that might have, like, actually saved the day?
Julie Foudy
I can actually tell you about something that I didn't get.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a guest or ad voice)
Oh, that's good.
Julie Foudy
That almost ruined the day. So we had some friends over the other day for dinner, and I thought I had everything covered. Actually, I thought Ian had everything covered because he's the chef in the family. And. And then I realized, like, we were completely out of avocados, which is kind of essential for guacamole.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a guest or ad voice)
Oh, whoops.
Abby Wambach
It is.
Julie Foudy
And so instead of scrambling or changing plans, because you need the. You need the guac, and especially the homemade guac, I placed a shipped order, and a shopper with shipped picked up exactly what I needed. And I was specific about it has to be avocados that I can use right away.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a guest or ad voice)
Today.
Julie Foudy
Avocados today. I cannot have hard avocados.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a guest or ad voice)
So, no, you can't have next week's avocados.
Abby Wambach
You need today.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a guest or ad voice)
Avocados?
Julie Foudy
Yeah, for the guac. It was a hit. I gotta spend time with my friends instead of running to the store to pick up the avocados. I forgot. And that's the thing. Like, hosting is fun, but there's a lot that goes into it between groceries and supplies, all the little details. So it's nice to have some help. And that's why we use Shipt.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a guest or ad voice)

The highlights, shakeups and headlines you'll want to celebrate this week in women's sports. Our party starter is brought to you by Ally the Bank. That is your ally. Topic number one, party people, Kelsey Fenler. We talked about her off the top. She is the rower who just rode solo from California to Hawaii and did it for faster than any other solo rolo.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
Rolo
Julie Foudy
rower has, male or female. So she's done it faster than any man and any woman. And she rode 2, 400 miles solo from Monterey.
Abby Wambach
Such a badass.
Julie Foudy
To Honolulu, Hawaii. She broke multiple records as well. So she's the fastest male or female to do it solo. As I just said, it took her, Glenn, in 43 days, 17 hours and 55 minutes on her own. And it also made her the first American woman to complete the journey solo. So. First American woman to do it as well as the youngest
Glennon Doyle
in a small canoe.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
Yeah.
Julie Foudy
No, well, it was.
Abby Wambach
What you're saying, it's like, it's like one of the. It's, it's basically a large.
Julie Foudy
Well, not large, but kayak. Yeah.
Glennon Doyle
Okay, so it's a canoe. What's the difference? A kayak and a canoe in two different things.
Abby Wambach
I know, but it's like a, it
Julie Foudy
had like a little covered area too where she could sleep. I have so many questions for her.
Glennon Doyle
Well, listen, you guys have to have her on right now.
Julie Foudy
We put it in.
Abby Wambach
She's coming on.
Julie Foudy
Yeah.
Abby Wambach
So don't worry. Party people. Number one. And number two, Julie I don't know if you know this, but I have been following her since she left California.
Julie Foudy
Oh, I got in on the party, like halfway through. You're been. You've been from. From day one from the job. Abigail.
Abby Wambach
Because there was just something about the content that she was putting out there that I was like, this feels like my summer content. This is the content I want to be watching during the summer.
Glennon Doyle
Julie. She watches the videos and tears with tears in her eyes. I feel like it's your guys's wild. Like Cheryl Strayed's like my version. It's your version of. It's like that A woman going on her own out into the ocean.
Abby Wambach
Yeah.
Glennon Doyle
Like, for me, the flight from California to Hawaii is too far.
Abby Wambach
The flight on your own, like the bravery and. And here's the thing. There's so much to be dealing with, but you have to. You have to get into the current. You know, when finding Nemo, where they're trying to catch the current.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a guest or ad voice)
Yeah.
Glennon Doyle
Oh, with the turtles.
Abby Wambach
And the turtles.
Glennon Doyle
Yeah, yeah.
Abby Wambach
She's trying to find the current. Right. So that it's an easier row. And she's dealing with winds and she's dealing with waves and she's dealing with wildlife and she's dealing with storms, not sleeping storms.
Julie Foudy
What do you do when you sleep? Do you anchor down? Like.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a guest or ad voice)
Yeah, you put it on.
Abby Wambach
You put it on auto anchor so it keeps you in the same spot. Because I watched her content.
Julie Foudy
Did she talk about that on the thing?
Glennon Doyle
But how does her nervous system. Like, that's what I mean. I don't need. I don't need to know physically how she sleeps. I need to know spiritually. How does. How does one sleep when one is in the middle of the ocean by oneself in a small canoe?
Abby Wambach
You're just hoping that the technical mechanics are always working because you're just hoping. You're hoping and you're hoping that your battery charges and you're hoping that you can still call your people and you're hoping that you packed enough food and you're hoping.
Glennon Doyle
Bless that.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
Right.
Glennon Doyle
She's amazing.
Abby Wambach
Yeah. Good job, Kelsey.
Julie Foudy
So the women's record before her was 86 days. So she cut that in half and in half. That's insane. And then she also realized, Glennon, she had a chance to catch the overall record by a man, which was 52 days. So she blew past that as well. And she said that she caught the last couple days. I saw her. Her posts at the end there too, saying she caught a current that got her to oahu. Faster than. Than she thought. At the end, she caught a favorable current. Current.
Glennon Doyle
So I'm just trying to picture the. The conversation she had with her parents. Like, you guys, she's an adult. I don't care if my kid was 50 and was like, mom, here's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna get in a small canoe. I'm gonna try to cross an ocean by myself. I would be like, absolutely not.
Abby Wambach
Yeah, but you would have no say in the matter.
Glennon Doyle
But I don't. I don't want. That's a different conversation.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
That's a whole other podcast. That's another episode.
Abby Wambach
That's a weak New York.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
She's 32 years old.
Abby Wambach
She's 32. 32.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
Okay, cool.
Glennon Doyle
Well, I knew she wasn't in menopause because there's no way she could have slept in that canoe at all, ever.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
She would have been so hot and so grumpy.
Glennon Doyle
She might have been pissed enough, though, to have that energy.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
She been angry at everything. God.
Glennon Doyle
Actually, maybe I could do it right now.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
Okay, topic number two.
Julie Foudy
WNBA AllStar starters have been named. So, okay, here are the 2026 WNBA All Star starters. They've been announced for, as we know, the All Star game, which is on July 25th in Chicago at the United Center. Voting was weighted so 50% was from the fans.
Abby Wambach
Cool.
Julie Foudy
25 from the players and 25 from the media. And we're showing the 2026 WNBA all star starters on the screen here, and you'll see that Indiana Fever led all teams with three starters. Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell, Leah, Boston. All three received more than 1 million fan votes. And rookie Olivia Miles with the Minnesota Links became the only rookie selected as a starter. And by the way, she recently became the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 300 points and 100 assists.
Abby Wambach
No way.
Julie Foudy
Yeah.
Abby Wambach
I love that kid. She's a.
Julie Foudy
She's so good. And to put that in perspective, she did it in 18 games, which beat the mark previously held by none other than Caitlin Clark and Paige Beckers. The top fan vote getters overall were Paige Beckers at over a million Leah bosses. Caitlin Clark, Asia Wilson, Brianna Stewart. Paige Beckers was the top ranked guard overall, finishing number one in fan voting, number two with the media, and number one among players. Interesting. Love that. Okay, topic number three, Wimbledon, Venus and Serena doubles update. Before we get to the Venus and Serena doubles update, should we do a Kinger update?
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
Yes, we should.
Glennon Doyle
Of course.
Julie Foudy
Because of course, Kinger is at her 65th Wimbledon.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
Can you believe that?
Glennon Doyle
Glennon Billie Jean King is as impressive as the canoer. Like how she keeps going is exactly as impressive as the canoe.
Abby Wambach
She's a rower.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
As the rower, I love it.
Julie Foudy
The Kinger is as always, very busy and so she took in the British Grand Prix over the weekend and today she's in the royal box. Of course she is, because she's royal, she's the Kinger. And for those of you who don't know what that is, it's one of the most exclusive seats in sports. So Glennon, it's an invite only section on center court and it's typically reserved for members of the British royal family, of course, heads of state and which is understandable, Wimbledon champions like the Kinger and Roger Federer, a very popular men's Wimbledon champion who's also in there today. So, okay, now to the the updates. Venus and Serena. Unfortunately, 44 year old Serena Williams had to withdraw from her doubles match with her sister Venus at Wimbledon on Saturday due to a right knee injury. Unfortunately she got in her three set singles loss earlier in the tournament. And on an IG post, Serena said, I'm heartbroken to have to withdraw from doubles. Coming back to compete again has been a gift and the opportunity to play alongside Venus Williams once more meant the world to me. I did everything I could, but unfortunately my knee just isn't ready to compete. She also said in her post, all I can say is stay tuned to a city near you. Okay, that means, that means she's playing on, right?
Abby Wambach
Yeah, but like to a city near you.
Julie Foudy
To a city near you.
Abby Wambach
Do you think she's going to be playing in like the smaller tournaments?
Glennon Doyle
I don't know and honestly that's too vague to do. Like how does one stay tuned to a city near one that's just too vague of a direction.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
What is she saying?
Julie Foudy
Okay, singles update at Wimbledon on Saturday, reigning Wimbledon champion IGA Svantek got knocked out. So the reigning champion is knocked out in two sets to 29th ranked Alexander Yala. And and then that run for Ayala ended today as well as she lost to Italian Jasmine Paolini. And Madison Keys knocked off Anisimova in a three set thriller on Saturday. So Madison Keys goes onto the round of 16 Sunday. I don't know if you guys saw this. Naomi Osaka knocked off top ranked Sabalenka in two sets. 6276 in the round of 16.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
Coco Golf also on to the quarterfinal
Julie Foudy
for the first time at Wimbledon with a three set win over 11th ranked player Swiss player Belinda Benchic. And literally Coco Gauff lost that first set, 4, 6. And then she came roaring back to win the next two sets. And they have an 11pm curfew at Wimbledon. Unlike US Open, which plays until like the middle of the night, they have a 11pm curfew. So it was like 10:58 and she was trying to win that last game and she just got it under the curfew or else they push it to the next day.
Abby Wambach
Ugh.
Julie Foudy
That would. Yeah. This was the only major that Coco Gauff has not made it to the quarterfinal of. And she now can check that off the list. Which sets up, by the way, an all American quarterfinal with Coco taking on Jessica Pegula in that quarterfinal. That's a wrap on our party starter. Party people. Thanks to Ally for sponsoring this segment. Ally is more than a bank. And their do it right approach helps customers unlock their economic potential and guides their efforts as a leading sponsor sponsor in women's sports. And just like us, Ally believes that when women in sports win, we all
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
have a reason to party.
Julie Foudy
Ally Bank Member FDIC.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a guest or ad voice)
This show is brought to you by Ally bank, the bank that knows that being a woman's sports fan can add up quickly. Like, you're trying to be responsible and then all of a sudden there's a huge rivalry game and you're like, well, I can't not do this. So what I like Ally bank is that they don't want you, okay, to choose between those moments and your long term goals. Their spending and savings accounts have no monthly maintenance fees, which is awesome. And you get the benefit of daily compounding interest so your money can grow over time. Jules, have you ever tried to teach your kids about compounding interest? Do they go, do they just like roll their eyes?
Julie Foudy
Yeah, roll their eyes.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a guest or ad voice)
Yeah, talk to me. In 20 years, kids, you're going to be like, you should have listened. And you know who you should have gone to? Ally. Visit ally.com to learn more banking built for life today. Ally Bank Member FDIC okay, Jules, so I try to be pretty intentional about the products that I buy for my family. So when it comes to laundry, I really, I choose all free clear detergent.
Julie Foudy
I love this because we're always talking about being mindful with what we eat or what we put into our bodies, but I actually never really thought about laundry detergent in the same way.
Abby Wambach
Yeah, I know.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a guest or ad voice)
Same. And, and when you really think about it, you're wearing these clothes all day. You're working out in them, you're traveling in them, sleeping in them, and then drying off after the shower with them on. So I do think it matters. That's why I like that all free clearance uses only essential ingredients that Jules tackle tough stains and tough odors. We've got teenagers.
Julie Foudy
I was gonna say.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
And you need that.
Abby Wambach
It's exactly.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a guest or ad voice)
It's gentle on the skin, so it's. It's also soft.
Julie Foudy
Yeah. And it's 100 free from dyes and perfumes and parabens. And I feel that once you know that, you can't unknow it, which is a good thing.
Abby Wambach
Totally.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a guest or ad voice)
I know. And for me, between our kids and sports gear and just life, there's just always stains. Always stains. Like, there's always something happening.
Julie Foudy
Yeah, always. And honestly, I do feel like workout clothes and watch washing them and especially Declan's, like, layers of workout clothes and how many he puts on a day is a full time job.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a guest or ad voice)
Exactly. But. But that's what's great, right? Because it actually works on all of that. But I still feel good about using it for everyone in the house and myself too.
Julie Foudy
Yeah. I love that you can look at the back of the bottle and actually see what's in it and what each ingredient actually does. That level of transparency, by the way, is not just something you usually get with laundry detergent. Plus, my son Declan has really sensitive skin. He has some allergies, so I love that. As I was saying, there's no dyes or perfumes since those can be irritating to his skin. And as we know, skin is an organ, we worry about what we put on the inside of our bodies. So we should also care about what touches our skin, too, with clothes and what we wash them in.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a guest or ad voice)
I know. And that is why it makes it such an easy choice. Jules.
Julie Foudy
It works. And it's a clean you can feel good about.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a guest or ad voice)
Pick up a bottle of all free clear detergent for your next laundry day.
Julie Foudy
Let's talk about game day, but not like actual game day. I want to talk the fit because look at.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
Look at me.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a guest or ad voice)
Oh, like fan game day.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
Yeah.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a guest or ad voice)
Yeah.
Okay.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
And look at you.
Julie Foudy
How cute are we right now?
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a guest or ad voice)
Because my kids are like, give me that.
Julie Foudy
Give me that.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
I know, I know. Same. I was like, y', all, look what I got. They were like, what?
Julie Foudy
Okay. Because whether you're a die hard fan or you're just there for the vibes,
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
what you wear on game day is,
Julie Foudy
like part of the whole experience. And this episode is brought to you by Levi's. And Levi's has always sat at that intersection, which we love of sport, style, culture, and now they're partnering with some of the most iconic football federations in the world. I love that they're doing this. Obviously, the usa, as we see with what we're rocking, but also Mexico, England and France. Come on. I want the whole collection. And it's all about rethinking fan style because the match is the occasion, of course, but Levi's is the lifestyle. So when you're dressing for game day, are you abs thinking about you're going to dress for the team? Are you dressing for the vibe? Are you dressing for the photos? What are you thinking?
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a guest or ad voice)
It's sometimes hard to look cool and also wear something that is branded of your team of choice. Right. So for us, we're obviously rooting for the usa and it's hard to find cool stuff to wear. That for me, like, that's different. Exactly. Because everybody has the same thing and everybody wants to be a little different and have their own spin on it. So for me, it's like, nobody will, like, this jacket is 100 what I'm wearing. Oh, and also, I don't know if you can see. Let me show you the back because the back is so amazing.
Julie Foudy
I think you always have to be dressing for your team. So I'm always dressing for my team, but I'm thinking, like, okay, rather than just the jersey, can I do something fun? And that's why when I saw this red jacket, I was like, oh, give it. Giz it. As they say in England. Gizzit, Gizzit. Give it to me. Because I just thought that's so cool. And I love Levi's denim looks. Check out their collection and find your own take on fan style. Head to Levi.com. Now. Finally, to the party. As part of our party, let's.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
I know you're not going to want
Julie Foudy
to talk about the wedding, so you just tell me to zip it. Anytime I ask a question about the wedding, just can you give, like, how was it? Tell us about your fits.
Abby Wambach
I had fun.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
I lost my voice.
Abby Wambach
I lost my voice. You had fun.
Glennon Doyle
I did. I'm. Abby knows, like, I'm, like, really sweating about this. I feel very.
Julie Foudy
Yeah.
Glennon Doyle
I feel like people. So many people kind of use anything connected to Taylor as, like, something to boost their own whatevers. And I feel really almost, like, protective of not doing that. So I just feel like I don't want to say anything other than. It was an honor to be there and. And they truly seemed so incredibly happy.
Abby Wambach
Yeah.
Glennon Doyle
And
Abby Wambach
do you want to talk about your outfit at all?
Glennon Doyle
Do you want to Talk about my outfit. I mean, I thought I looked great. Honestly, I thought I did. I just. I really did. It was really. I really wanted to look like Elsa, and I feel that I nailed it. I felt I've identified as Elsa for a long time, but I've never been able to match my outsides with my insides, and I feel like I nailed it also. I just. It is. I was looking at the pictures, and you guys. I just cannot believe what makeup artists and hair people can do. Like, if you could. I do want to pick. Show, like, a picture of me before they came and a picture of me after they came just to kind of. Yeah, I do. I want to do that because I feel like it's kind of like cleaning up your carbon footprint, like, in terms of, like, what social media can do to people like that. What the picture I put on social media compared to what I look like on a normal day, it does damage. It does damage to spirits, I think. So I think I need to undo that by showing what I looked like. The amount of spackle they had to put on my menopause rosacea, it was an inch and a half. So, anyway, I've just been thinking about that. Like, I feel like I want to kind of rectify whatever that was eventually. I'm sorry. I'm gonna stop. Go. No, that's what I want to say about what I looked. I looked amazing, and I looked nothing like myself.
Abby Wambach
You looked amazing, and you looked everything like yourself. Oh, I totally deserve.
Julie Foudy
If she was Elsa.
Abby Wambach
Well, okay. So my vision for this event was. Okay, I think that people know on the show that I believe that I was born in the Viking times and then also in the Victorian times, and then Victorian times, the 1920s. And so I was like. I was channeling, like, Peaky Blinders black tie event.
Glennon Doyle
You were so Peaky Blinders, and you were so.
Abby Wambach
Or like, Great Gatsby black tie event. That's what I was trying to, like, read. That was. That was what I was going for.
Julie Foudy
And it was kind of Peaky Blinders esque, though, right? In terms of.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
Yeah, yeah.
Julie Foudy
Not knowing.
Abby Wambach
And so that's what I was going for. I even bought a pocket watch.
Glennon Doyle
Oh, and. And she was so excited about her pocket watch because no one had phones, so everyone had to keep asking what time it was. So she kept getting to pull out her pocket watch, but then, of course, couldn't tell the person. So then she kept showing it to me. But under stress, I can't read an analog watch. That is something we learned in Third
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
grade to talk because she didn't have a voice. Yeah.
Glennon Doyle
So not only did I have to try to figure out what time it was on a Peaky Blinders watch and then say it. Those were more stressful moments, actually.
Abby Wambach
Yeah. I mean, I think overall, what I want to say about the wedding.
Julie Foudy
Wait, Tio on your. Wait real quick before you go into that. I thought you were going in a full white
Glennon Doyle
Abby.
Julie Foudy
Yeah, yeah. White suit with coattails. It was black. Okay.
Abby Wambach
Yeah.
Julie Foudy
I misunderstood that when you.
Abby Wambach
It was never going to be white. I would never try to upstage the bride.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
True.
Julie Foudy
Right? At a wedding, you can't do white.
Abby Wambach
Yeah, no, yeah, true. But, like, I think. I think overall, like, I just want their. Their need and their desire to want to keep privacy, like, real. So, like, anything we talk about is just gonna be our stuff. I don't want to, like, I'm not gonna, like, divulge any of, like, the what happened, who was there. None of that stuff is coming out of our mouths.
Julie Foudy
Yeah.
Glennon Doyle
Yeah. We had a good time and it was fun getting ready. And we just decided it's.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a guest or ad voice)
If you can.
Glennon Doyle
If you. If you are people who only go out two times a year, you can really do it up.
Abby Wambach
And Julie, guess what?
Glennon Doyle
We did it up.
Abby Wambach
We stayed up until 3 o' clock in the morning.
Glennon Doyle
3 o' clock in the morning.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
Who are you?
Abby Wambach
Yeah, we stayed on Pacific time. We stayed on LA time, which helped.
Glennon Doyle
There were like, just a small group of women who were like Gen X aged women in the bathroom after 1am Just talking to each other about how amazing we were for still being awake.
Abby Wambach
Yeah. Yeah. It was a time. Time was had.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
I'm proud of you guys.
Glennon Doyle
Thanks.
Julie Foudy
Yeah, I'm really proud. That's a lot. I would have been a hot mess. I would have been nervous. So you did it. Yay. Helix knows that sleep is personal. You cannot do a one size fits all approach. They feature more than 20 different mattress models designed around how people actually sleep. And I've noticed the difference most in how I feel in the mornings. I don't have that sluggish. I can't keep my eyes open. I can't even open my eyes. Let's hit the snooze button three times, feeling nearly as often, and I wake up ready to go. I want to tackle the day, whether that's getting outside, whether it's doing the podcast, traveling, or just keeping up with everything that life throws at you, so. And as you know, I run a little bit hot during the summer. I am hot during the summer when the nights get warmer, those cooling options
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
are a game changer.

We're going back to the World Cup. All the world has these incredible chants, and we as a country don't have many chants.
Abby Wambach
Like for soccer games.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
For soccer games.
Julie Foudy
During soccer games, they sing all these great songs.
Glennon Doyle
Right. Like the rowing.
Abby Wambach
Yeah, similar, but there's, like, literal words like songs.
Glennon Doyle
Right, right.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
Yeah.
Julie Foudy
They make up these songs and they change the. The lyrics to match, you know, their players. And. And they're very creative about it all over the world. And so for years, we have talked about. Not years, decades, that the US Needs some better chants. So we were talking about that, I think, on an episode, and some party people decided that they were gonna make, of all people, a Baligan chant.
Abby Wambach
No way.
Julie Foudy
Which is perfect.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
Well, he says it now.
Julie Foudy
This is courtesy of Amanda and Brian, their brother and sister, and Amanda's wife, Paloma. Jack, run the Baligan song and we'll
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
talk about it after. Whoa, put that ball in the gold the red, the white and the blue. Is that so good?
Glennon Doyle
Very, very good.
Abby Wambach
It's very good.
Julie Foudy
Do you know what it's too?
Glennon Doyle
No.
Abby Wambach
It sounds like a reggae song.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
It's.
Julie Foudy
I couldn't. I. This was driving me crazy. I couldn't remember. I could. I could hum the song. And this is probably going to give away my age a little bit, but
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
it's Dean Martin's Volare o no Contore.
Abby Wambach
I don't know what that is.
Julie Foudy
It's like this Italian Dean Martin song he used to sing. And I think, are you a boomer?
Abby Wambach
What is your generation?
Julie Foudy
My dad used to listen to that.
Abby Wambach
What are you?
Julie Foudy
I don't know, Julius.
Glennon Doyle
Gen X.
Julie Foudy
AM I?
Abby Wambach
Yeah.
Julie Foudy
55 is Gen X. Okay.
Glennon Doyle
So is your brain. Your brain is half jukebox, half aspartame. That is what Gen X is.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
Yes, for sure.
Julie Foudy
Okay, wait. Play it one more time, you guys.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
It's so good.
Julie Foudy
So it's. That's his first name. Whoa.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
Put that ball in the red, the white and the blue. Baligan scores goals for you. The red, the white and the blue. Balogun scores goals for you. Cute.
Julie Foudy
I think we should use it.
Abby Wambach
Cute.
Julie Foudy
I need. I think we need that.
Abby Wambach
I think we'll wait. Hopefully. I don't know, for me, if he doesn't play. That would be the best case scenario.
Julie Foudy
Yeah. And then he comes back in the quarterfinal against Spain or Portugal and wins it all. Okay. Last thing. Did you know I lied. This is really the last thing I know. I said that was the last thing. Did you know that Billy knows who's gonna win the World Cup? Glennon.
Glennon Doyle
How does she. Did she and FIFA make a deal? We know. FIFA already knows who's gonna win the World Cup.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
It's unfortunately not that Billy. It's not the Kinger.
Julie Foudy
It's the cat. Billy the cat is a psychic. And this cat is. He's been featured on CNN and all kinds of news shows because he's predicting winners like crazy. Okay. He doesn't do all the games. They only ask him to do about two a day. And his owners say he's not patient enough. And it's tiring work. He can't do every damn game, people. But of course, he's gotten only four wrong so far out of 31. So that's an 87% rate. So I want you to see who he's predicted for the USA versus Belgium. Roll this.
Glennon Doyle
Julie, how is he doing? Asking him. Oh. Oh.
Julie Foudy
So they put the flags up.
Abby Wambach
Yeah.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
Is that the most adorable thing? So they put the two flags up in front of him, and then he paused the flag.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a guest or ad voice)
I have so many questions.
Julie Foudy
He's gotten four wrong. Only four wrong out of 31. So he's an 87% success rate. May the United States fall in that 87% with or without Flo Baligan.
Unknown Female Speaker (possibly a co-host or guest)
Wow.
Abby Wambach
I have questions. Wow.
Glennon Doyle
And that's definitely not A.I. for sure. That's not A.I.
Abby Wambach
yeah, that's a good question.
Julie Foudy
Yeah, that is a good question. I think we're pretty sure.
Glennon Doyle
Okay.
Abby Wambach
Okay.
Julie Foudy
Do you think they put a little catnip on one of the. On one of the flags? That's such a good idea.
Abby Wambach
Yeah.
Julie Foudy
Something ascent.
Abby Wambach
Is it really psychic? I need to know.
Glennon Doyle
Well, Abby really believes in animal psychic, so this is a whole.
Abby Wambach
I want an animal psychic.
Glennon Doyle

Hosts: Julie Foudy, Abby Wambach (voice recovering), Glennon Doyle (guest host), Billie Jean King (cameo)
This lively episode centers on the big news that USMNT star Folarin “Flo” Balogun’s World Cup red card was overturned after former president Donald Trump intervened. The hosts – soccer icons Julie Foudy and Abby Wambach (with wife Glennon Doyle stepping in for Abby’s hoarse voice) – dissect the sports, political, ethical, and emotional fallout of this “tainted,” headline-dominating story. Along the way, they spotlight women’s sports updates, celebrate awe-inspiring athlete Kelsey Fenler, dish on glamorous wedding escapades, and end with laughs about psychic animals and homemade soccer chants.
[00:00–06:40]
Abby’s voice gave out after an intense combo of World Cup viewing and a high-profile wedding (Taylor & Travis).
Glennon humorously recounts being “pulled off the bench” to cover for Abby at social events, including a dynamic exchange with NFL players:
The group laughs about how Glennon is introverted at events, while Abby thrives on small talk.
At the wedding, Abby navigated talks about women’s athletics and menstrual cycles, opening unexpected yet profound conversations with NFL players.
[10:31–23:38]
Breaking news: USMNT striker Flo Balogun’s World Cup red card suspension was overturned after Trump called FIFA president Gianni Infantino. This move shocked international football.
Julie initially felt joy (“Hell, yes!” [12:16]) but quickly became uneasy:
The hosts discuss the ethical blow: Many see this as American exceptionalism and political meddling, corrupting the spirit of sport.
Glennon provides an outside perspective:
The hosts acknowledge Balogun and the US team were not at fault, but face global resentment.
They float radical sportsmanship: benching Balogun voluntarily to reclaim honor, though they know this is unlikely.

Notable Quote – Episode’s Heart:
“We are the underdogs...and now we’re the freaking Goliath again...innocent people and their real lives get negatively affected when big institution power comes in and tries to, you know, heavy-hand and cheat. I’m so mad, and I don’t know what to do about it.” – Abby Wambach, [21:10]
