Here's your afternoon TNB Tech minute for Tuesday, July 14th. I'm Imani Moiz for the Wall Street Journal. Uber is in discussions with Delivery Hero regarding a potential takeover of the German food delivery app. Delivery Hero said today that talks are at an advanced stage and didn't comment on speculation about the price of the offer. Uber previously approached the company in May with an offer that valued Delivery hero at nearly $11.4 billion. Uber declined to comment on the latest negotiations. Uber has been working to strengthen its foothold abroad lately in its ride hailing and food delivery businesses as competition in both spaces heaps up. The Consumer Price Index for June showed a big jump in prices for computer software. That's likely a reflection of widespread AI adoption across the US for both professional and personal uses. According to the Labor Department, the price index for computer software and accessories increased 2.3% on the month in June and 17.4% on the year, the latter being the largest increase on record prices in some other AI related categories, including smartphones, decreased and two of America's biggest banks offer different takes on how AI will affect their headcount as they reported earnings today. JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon says the bank has cut jobs by 30 to 40% in certain areas, but is retraining staff and offering most impacted employees jobs in other parts of the company. Dimon said his leadership team is meeting for an off site where they'll discuss AI later this month. Executives at Goldman Sachs, meanwhile, say the firm wants AI to allow existing employees to be more productive and do more for clients. Goldman CFO Dennis Coleman said, quote, it's not a moment for a structural rework of our human capital footprint. And that's it for your T and B Tech minutes. We'll have another quick tech update for you in the morning.

to genspark is the all in one workspace. We do AI spreadsheet, AI slides, AI document, all kinds of work for normal white collar workers. We are a very small startup so we cannot do everything by ourselves and working with trusted partners is really, really important in the collaboration. The openness is the key. The sum of the secret you kept today will be worthless, you know tomorrow. The success of the partnership with customers comes to deep mutual trust. When it's really working, it's very tight feedback loop.
