here's your afternoon TNB Tech Minute for Monday, April 6th. I'm Julie Chang for the Wall Street Journal. We exclusively report that Amazon and the US Postal Service have reached a new package handling agreement. That's according to people familiar with the matter. It comes after Amazon threatened to drastically cut back on the number of packages it sends through the agency. Sources say under the deal, Amazon will reduce the number of packages it ships through USPS by 20%. An earlier proposal had planned for a reduction of two thirds. The federal agency that oversees the Postal Service still needs to approve the agreement. While better for usps, the deal is still a blow to the struggling agency. Amazon is USPS largest customer, bringing in about $6 billion in revenue. USPS didn't immediately comment. JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon says AI will be deployed faster than prior tech transformations, potentially outpacing the workforce's ability to adapt. In the company's shareholder letter, he writes that AI will impact virtually every part of the company, eventually reducing the workweek in developed nations while eliminating some jobs and enhancing others. He suggests businesses and governments can use incentives like retraining, income assistance, reskilling, early retirement and relocation to aid those whose jobs are affected. And Oracle has hired Hilary Maxson as its new chief financial officer, effective immediately. Maxson most recently served as executive VP and group chief financial officer at French electrical and technology provider Schneider Electric. Oracle said Doug Kerig, who has been serving as the software giant's principal financial officer since September, will transition out of the post and will continue to serve as executive VP of operations, focusing on strategic initiatives.
