Here'S your morning TNB Tech Minute for Wednesday, December 3rd. I'm Julie Chang for the Wall Street Journal. Binance, the world's largest crypto exchange, has named co founder EE as its co CEO. E led the strategy to develop the company, a crypto to crypto trading platform, into a global blockchain ecosystem. She will take the helm alongside CEO Richard Tang. She currently serves as the company's chief customer services officer. In a post on X, Binance said Yi will guide the company through its next phase of development as it aims to reach 1 billion users. According to the company, it currently has close to 300 million users. Binance handles $65 billion in average daily volumes. Former CEO Champing Zhao stepped down in 20 after Binance was fined $4.3 billion for violating US anti money laundering requirements. Svetka Vodka's first Super bowl commercial will be made primarily with AI. The tech will be used to feature the company's old Fembot mascot in the ad, which it brought back this fall after more than 10 years in retirement. Spirit's company Sazerac acquired Svetka earlier this year. Sazerac's chief marketing officer said the brand's super bowl debut is meant to introduce Svetka to new customers and rebuild its brand equ with others. The use of AI in advertising has at times triggered anger or disdain from some ad industry employees and consumers. According to the cmo, the commercial involved extensive human oversight and direction, and Energy Secretary Chris Wright rejected concerns that the AI center boom will raise energy bills in the country. Wright said yesterday at the North American Gas Forum that the data center expansion in the long run will make electricity cheaper because it will spur a boom in electricity production beyond on what is needed for the centers. Recent reports show the data center boom is squeezing consumers in states such as New Jersey. Retail power prices in the Garden state were up 19% in August from a year earlier. That's according to recent data from the US Energy Information Administration. Wright said building new electricity infrastructure is essential and will ultimately drive down average electricity prices. That's your TMB Tech minute. Join us again this afternoon for more.
