The European Union is charging Meta over its systems for handling illegal content on Facebook and Instagram, the first allegation of its kind by the eu, the bloc's executive arm. The European Commission claims that Meta fails to give users an easy way to flag illegal content like sexual abuse of children and terrorist material. In addition, Meta is also accused of not giving users adequate tools to appeal content moderation decisions when their posts are removed or accounts suspended. The charges risk provoking the Trump administration, which has threatened tariffs in response to the EU's fines and digital regulations. Meta said the company disagrees with the accusations and will continue to negotiate with the commission. Anthropic is expanding its use of Google Cloud's TPU chips in an attempt to grow its computing resources to train the next generation of its AI model, Claude. Through the deal, Anthropic will have access to up to 1 million TPU chips as well as additional Google Cloud services, according to the company. It chose TPUs for their price, performance and efficiency, as well as the company's existing experience in training and serving. Its models with TPUs. And UK car manufacturing fell in September in part due to the cyberattack that brought Jaguar Land Rover's operations to a standstill. That's according to the industry body, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders. A total of just over 54,000 vehicles were produced in the UK in September, a nearly 36% drop from the same month last year. Electrified car production rose by about 15% to just under 25,000 units, with hybrid, plug in hybrid and battery electric vehicles accounting for almost half of all cars produced there in September.
