Afternoon TNB Tech Minute for Tuesday, August 26th. I'm Julie Chang for the Wall Street Journal. A top data officer with the Social Security Administration says the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, put the personal information of more than 300 million Americans at risk by uploading extensive data onto a cloud server. In a whistleblower complaint, the SSA's chief data officer says the database included records of all Social Security numbers, plus full names, birth dates and other personal information. He didn't indicate that the database had been breached, and the SSA said in a statement that it stores all personal data in secure environments and that it's not aware of any compromise to this environment. President Trump's Media Business Trump Media and Technology Group says it's partnering with trading platform Crypto.com and a special purpose acquisition company. They plan to create a new firm that'll raise about $6.4 billion to buy and hold CRO, a niche token that's affiliated with Crypto.com, the move marks the Trump family's latest expansion into the market for digital assets, and there's now clearer evidence that artificial intelligence is limiting some young Americans job prospects. New research out today from Stanford University economists reveals that young workers are getting hit in fields where generative AI tools can easily automate tasks like software development. At the same time, the researchers found that employment among young people grew in fields where AI can act as a helper rather than a replacement. The paper still needs to be peer reviewed and published. And that's it for your T and B Tech minutes for today. We'll have another quick tech update in the morning.

A chief data officer at the Social Security Administration (SSA) has filed a whistleblower complaint against the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
The complaint claims DOGE put the personal information of over 300 million Americans at risk by uploading sensitive data—including Social Security numbers, full names, birth dates, and additional personal information—to a cloud server.
There is no indication that a data breach has actually occurred.
