Here's your afternoon TNB Tech minute for Thursday, June 18th. I'm Julie Chang for the Wall Street Journal. Waymo is recalling over 3,800 robo taxis due to a risk of them speeding through highway construction zones, the the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported. Waymo cars entered Phoenix and San Francisco freeway work zones in April and May. The recall will include software improvements as well as additional operational protocols. It comes as competitors including Uber, Lucid, Neuro and Intel's Mobileye prepare for their own Robotaxi expansions next year. Accenture has lowered its fiscal year revenue guidance. Its CEO told analysts the Iran conflict had interrupted business in the Middle east, with the firm seeing a $400 million hit to sales. Plus, shares in the IT consulting firm have taken a beating this year over concerns that AI tools will replace some of what it does. Accenture stock was down more than 18% in afternoon trading to its lowest level in nearly a decade. Meanwhile, BE Semiconductor Industries, or bsee, has raised its long term revenue and profitability targets. The Dutch supplier of chipmaking equipment bumped up its total revenue target by about half a billion dollars, reaching now about 2 to $2.5 billion over the long term. BSEE CEO said increased demand for AI related data center and photonics applications, as well as new use cases improved its outlook. Finally, SpaceX shares look to be extending their decline. As of this afternoon they're down about 6% and they closed down about 5% yesterday. And a quick programming note before we go, we'll be off tomorrow for Juneteenth, but back on Monday with another quick tech update.
