The model called Agua Prope, meaning clean water, was presented by a team of middle school students from Houston at the Future City Nationals in Washington DC.

The students' goal was to build a city with a clean and reliable water supply.

Many members on the Houston team have roots in Karachi, Pakistan's largest and most populated city, where water shortages and access to clean water are a persistent problem.

Karachi right now is very behind, unlike America. A lot of people are on the streets, they don't have water to drink or they're drinking contaminated water needing any money. It's very hard to even like take showers over there.
