We’re joined by Debbie Wilson of the International Animal Coalition (IAWPC) and Actor, Animal Activist and Advocate, Peter Egan discussing the latest on the campaign to end the violent and inhumane killing of street dogs in Morocco. Thousands of stray street dogs have been killed by either by extreme violence, being shot or poisoned. The reason - the forthcoming FIFA World Cup in 2030, which Morocco is co-hosting alongside Portugal and Spain. Despite being informed by the International Coalition - IAWPC that Morocco is in clear breach of all recognised and acceptable standards of civilised behaviour in relation to the humane treatment, welfare and protection of dogs, as well as in clear breach of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child., FIFA has refused to comment or take action. It's a moment to remember what Mahatma Gandhi famously said: “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated."To sign the petitions mentions in the show click here for Action Network and here for SoidogFor more information visit the website or follow on InstagramFollow Peter Egan on TwitterFor more about Antinol and Naturaw, including A Dog's Life discounts you can use, go to the 'Anna Recommends' page at annawebb.co.ukMusic and production by Mike Hanson for Pod People ProductionsCover art by JaijoCover photo by Rhian Ap Gruffydd at Gruff Pawtraits

We’re joined by Dr Greger Larson of Oxford University who specialises in studying Ancient DNA, discussing the remains of a jawbone, which proved that dogs were living with humans in Britain almost 15,000 years ago. As a landmark find with DNA confirming its identity as not being a wolf, it proves that humans and dogs were co-habiting more than 5,000 years earlier than previously thought. At a time before humans had become farmers, these dogs clearly played a big part in these human communities, with proof they were even buried beside their people - man’s best friend.
