Welcome to A Year in the Bible with Daily Grace. This year we want to spend a few minutes with you every day walking through our study Christ in All of Scripture. Each week we will dive deeply into two passages of Scripture, one from the Old Testament and one from the new, seeing how they connect and point to Jesus.
B
Whether you are doing the study yourself or just following along with us here, we are hopeful that through studying these passages each week, you will see how Christ is not only present throughout the entire Biblical story, but the center of it.

Hi friends, friends, welcome to A Year in the Bible. My name is Beth and I'm here with my co host, Alexa Everyone.
B
We are excited to spend one last day this week talking about Joel 2:28, 29 and Acts 2:32:33. Today we'll be talking about how we can apply the truths that we have learned to our daily lives. So Beth, will you share with us how you are planning to apply these passages?
A
Yeah, of course. So the reality that we have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us literally changes everything about our lives. The Spirit is our comforter. He is the assurance of our salvation. He is the one who gives us boldness to share the gospel. He helps us when we pray, and he empowers us to obey God's commands. And he is the one who will raise us from the dead when Jesus returns. So there are many ways that we can actually apply the truth from these passages this week. And so I think for me, I want to focus on how the Spirit emboldens and empowers me to share the Gospel and spread the message of Christ to others. I personally do not actually have very many unbelievers in my life, which is something that I would love to see change. But the unbelievers that I do know are very, very close to me. Often it is with family members or close friends who do not know Jesus that we actually have the most difficulty sharing Christ. And I definitely find this to be true for myself. But in my conversations with these people, I want to a remember that the Holy Spirit is with me and in me and B I want to be more sensitive to when the Spirit is directing my words or actions with these people. So what about you, Alexa? Do you have a specific application takeaway?
B
I am right there with you. It's really easy for me to shy away when it comes to being open about my faith. Even this week I dodged a question about what I did this weekend because I was even nervous just to say that I had a woman's retreat at church. And I do things like that because I'm always nervous about how people are going to respond. But if I truly took seriously that the Holy Spirit, who is full of power, lives in me and empowers me, then I think I wouldn't be so afraid to be open with others. That means I need to be relying on the Spirit more, and one of the ways to do that is through prayer, which actually connects with the conclusion of today's episode. So Beth is going to read some prayer prompts for us, so we encourage you to respond in prayer after each one.
A
Praise God for His graciousness and pouring the Spirit out on his people. Spend some time thanking God specifically for Christ's ascension. Thank him that Jesus is at the right hand interceding for us and that because of his ascension he has given us His Spirit. Ask the Spirit to make his presence known to you and to guide you in your actions today. Well, that is it for this week. Thank you all so much for joining us and we will see you again on Monday as we continue our year of seeing Christ in all of Scripture.
