Okay. Today we are going to talk about Proverbs 12:3, which reads, no one can be made secure by wickedness, but the root of the righteous is immovable. And I think this proverb gets at the heart of what a lot of us experience in life, where sometimes it feels like the wicked or the evil or the shrewd are getting ahead. And sometimes it feels like it actually hurts us in the long run to do the right thing. But this proverb wants to dispel that notion. It says, that is not the way things are. So our verse today draws a really strong contrast between those who engage in wrongdoing to achieve success and then those who do what is right, maybe at the expense of being successful. And even though wickedness seems like it gets you ahead in the short run, this proverb says it doesn't in the long run. It's actually to your detriment, but yet people still often choose that path anyways. And it says, the root of the righteous is immovable. In other words, real stability and success come to those who do what is right and build their lives on the right true foundation. And with that in mind, I'm reminded of that tiny little parable in Matthew 7 where Jesus talks about the wise and the foolish builder. Building your house on the right foundation might take a little longer. You have to find the right spot. You have to make the proper measurements. But. But when you finally build your house on the secure foundation, it withstands the storms of life. It's the foolish builder who might cut corners, who might not measure twice and cut once, but he ends up, in the long run, setting himself back. And we can kind of think of that sort of world of Jesus parable, kind of in this little proverb, it's which foundation do you want to build your house on? On which foundation do you want to build your life on? On the righteous one which leads you to Christ, or the wicked one, which leads you away from the Lord?

Yeah. Every episode we record in Proverbs, I'm deeply challenged as we're going through the text, and that is no exception. Walking through that particular proverb, another one that stuck out to me in our reading today was also from chapter 12. It was from verse one. And it says, whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but one who hates correction. And my translation literally said is stupid. Okay, Brutal. I know. And maybe that was like, what was so brutal about it? But what, what that challenged me to do is when I receive correction, my first instinct is to think of all the reasons why that correction could be wrong. That's always my gut instinct. And you know what? Not all correction is good correction. However, if I love knowledge, then I should love discipline. And if I hate correction, then that's telling me that's a foolish choice. And so I was encouraged today to walk in humility, to receive correction, and to even learn to love it. Which sounds hard, but I have seen the fruit of that in my life and I think I will continue to. So. Okay, thanks for walking us through Proverbs 10 through 12, C.J. we'll talk about more tomorrow.
