Shop online@marshalls.com a little more weekend programming activity. NYC Winter Jazz Fest is underway and earlier this week we previewed two events happening this weekend, both dedicated to the historic black Brooklyn Cultural center the East. The organization operated from 1969 to the mid-1980s, promoting art and business of black Brooklynites around Bed Stuy and hosting countless performances from musicians like Pharaoh Sang Sanders and Max roach. Tomorrow at 4pm there will be a panel discussion about the venue's musical legacy. And On Sunday at 8pm The Crown Hill Theater will host A Night at the east featuring jazz veterans like Gary Bartz and Billy Hart, plus later generation artists like Shabaka. More Mother and Luke Stewart. Luke Stewart joined us Yesterday in Studio 5 for a live performance. He was accompanied by the duo Achilles Navarro. Earlier in the week, I should say he was accompanied by the duo Aquilis Navarro and to share, Holmes on trumpet and drums. All three are members of the music collective Irreversible Entanglements. The band stuck around after the interview to record one more song for us. So ahead of this show and this weekend we wanted to share that with you. Here's Luke Stewart, Achilles Navarro and Chaser Holmes with Pueblo Sa.

Episode Theme:
This bonus episode of “All Of It” highlights the vibrant legacy of Black music and culture in Brooklyn and gives listeners a special live performance from jazz innovators Luke Stewart, Tcheser Holmes, and Aquiles Navarro. The segment ties into NYC Winter Jazz Fest and celebrates the historical importance of the East—Brooklyn’s influential Black cultural center.
Celebration of Black Cultural Heritage:
The episode centers on NYC Winter Jazz Fest’s spotlight on the East, a bedrock for Black arts and community from 1969 to the mid-1980s in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn. The music collective Irreversible Entanglements, represented here by bassist Luke Stewart, trumpeter Aquiles Navarro, and drummer Tcheser Holmes, are featured because of their participation in festival events honoring this history.
Sharing a Bonus Live Performance:
Listeners are treated to an exclusive, in-studio recording of “Pueblo,” showcasing the genre-defying, forward-thinking style of the musicians.
Celebrating Community Roots
Spotlighting Modern Heirs to Tradition:
Invitation to Experience Live Culture:
This episode positions “All Of It” as both chronicler and curator of New York’s living cultural history, giving voice to artists who are both heirs to and expanders of the city’s Black musical legacy. The bonus track “Pueblo” is both a tribute and an expansion, echoing the past while crafting something unmistakably of the present.
For listeners:
If you want a window into the dialogue between New York’s cultural past and its boundary-pushing music scene, this bonus episode, with its electrifying performance and community focus, is an essential listen.
