A
This is a sunscreen. You can't mess up for that face.
B
That's cool.
A
I love this because I need to reapply face sunscreen, but if I. I got a mat.
B
I have to disagree on Oreos when I eat them. Yeah, the sleeve is gone.
A
That's the one you chose to disagree on.
B
If it's not double stuff, get out. Oh, we brought a show and tell.
A
Is that a pot of gold? That was such a dumb joke. We're never gonna finish this. Welcome back to Always here. We're your hosts, Abby Howard and Abbey Howard. It's good to be back.
B
Oh, baby. It feels like it's been a long time.
A
A lot has happened.
B
A lot has happened.
A
We both had kind of busy weeks, as always, I feel like.
B
Yeah, you had a very busy week. You and Matt, little jet setters, little Hollywood celebrities.
A
I literally told Matt at the end of that day, I was like, okay, so we went to. I guess I'll explain.
B
Yeah, it was so fun.
A
We went to the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
B
So cool.
A
In LA. And we were brought out by Fox, which was really cool. So we got to do, like, a lot tour of, like, where they filmed the Sound of Music.
B
I thought that was filmed in Austria, was it not?
A
Maybe some scenes were, but, like, a lot of the, like, iconic scenes were in the Fox lot. And I mean, they were currently filming the new Baywatch and we got to see, like, all the sets for, which is really cool. And we, like, got to talk to, like, their Casting directors. It was a really cool experience because they don't actually do lot tours at Fox. Like they do them at like Universal Studios and some of the other major production places.
B
Oh, I didn't realize that it was
A
cool to just kind of see like behind, behind the scenes things.
B
Yeah.
A
And then to go to the event was really cool. But in preparation, I have a funny story. I already told you this on Sunday, but I got a spray tan to go to the event and I. Which two in a row. Wow.
B
Great couple of weeks for Abby.
A
Hi. No, now I'm gone again. But I had to take the boys. I remember telling. I was like, okay, well, like now the boys have to go with me to the. And so I set them up on the chair in there, which I wanted them to be in the same room because I was like, I don't know, this space. Like, they can't just be in the lobby, right. Like, there was other people out there. But I was like, no, they gotta be with me. And so I set them up, like in a chair, like to the side, like, so they're like 180 degrees from me. And I had. I had a show on for them and they each had their own bag of veggie straws. As soon as that machine turns on, actually as soon as I started taking
B
off my clothes, I was like, just bottleneck crane.
A
Their neck was completely turned and they were just silent. And they're just eating veggie straws, watching me. And it was like a full on show. And then they didn't say anything. I put my clothes back on. It's quick. Like it was like 10 minutes max that we're in there. Get back in the car. They're just like kind of quiet. And then, which I'm not. Like, they see me like go to the bathroom and they see me like these things. But it just felt like a new experience. I mean, I felt vulnerable. I feel like they're like, why is
B
she naked in this room?
A
This is weird. What is this loud machine, Right? Why is she turning brown? And Griffin literally said to me in the car, after like a prolonged silence, he goes, hey, mom, what color's your butt?
B
It's honestly an appropriate question.
A
I was like, right now it's brown. I think that he was probably actually so confused on what was happening.
C
How are you changing colors, mom?
A
I was like, you know, this is one of those things where when they bring it up, we'll talk about it. But I think at this point I was like, it's right now. It's probably brown. Yeah. He's like, okay, okay.
B
That's me in a couple hours after I shower.
A
It was really funny. That.
B
So cool.
A
I got to get all dressed up, which was fun.
B
And you look so beautiful. Thank you. So beautiful. Did you do your own hair and makeup?
A
Yeah, I did. I feel like my hair looked kind of woo.
B
Oh, I thought you looked.
C
No, it was good. It was cute.
A
Thanks, guys. I did my own hair and makeup because. I don't know. I don't. I'm not that special, but I. I don't actually. I didn't even do get my makeup done for my wedding. I did it myself.
B
I remember that. Yeah, I remember I came back to the room, and you guys were getting ready, and it was so sweet.
A
I actually did my mom's makeup and my grandma's makeup and my friend's makeup. My wedding day. Yeah.
B
Well, you're good at makeup. Thank you.
A
It doesn't take me long. I don't know how to do anything fancy, so I was like, I'll just do it really quick.
B
I honestly think if you're. You're good at. I mean, you were a dancer, and I feel like dancers. You and Addie both, you learn how to do makeup, and then you just. You get used to it, and hair looks like. Yeah. So you guys have skills.
A
Thank you. I didn't do anything super special, but it was really fun. They put us in a really nice hotel and. Which was great for the fact that
B
it was like a solo trip on
A
pelvic rest,
C
so that was good for that.
B
Terrible.
A
Oh, my gosh.
B
I was just laying there.
A
I just got my Kindle out.
B
I guess we go to bed.
A
We ordered room service and everything. It was so sad. Anyway, it was really sweet. Then we made a quick trip to Utah for a really special conversation on unplanned that I have been looking forward to for reason, some such a long time.
B
I can't wait to hear it.
A
It was with Elizabeth Smart. So I don't know when it's coming out in relation to this episode, but
C
it's actually gonna be out before this episode. Okay.
B
So maybe go listen to it.
A
That was a whirlwind travel experience. Get back home and, you know, you're back to reality. Bedtime, bath or bath? Bedtime. Get up the next morning.
B
You know, that's also the beauty of motherhood. You know, it, like, right back into retirement.
A
Oh, you get right back into it.
B
I kind of like it.
A
Oh, it's great.
B
I don't know, like, you come back, you're rested and then you like. Oh, the kids are just. It's like you're jumping back in. What am I trying to say?
A
You never skip a beat.
B
You never see a beat. It never stopped. Like, you know what I mean? Kids are just consistent.
A
They are consistent.
B
And it's so sweet.
A
It is sweet. How was your week?
B
It was good. We went to MLB game last night. The Diamondbacks, first Tigers. We have a friend that plays on the Tigers. So we, our whole like Bible study group went to. They sent us tickets and we all went, which is really fun. You know, it was a little irresponsible to bring such a small baby.
A
Why?
B
Like outside? No, I don't regret it at all. But it was really loud. It was really loud.
A
Headphones you could have brought.
B
I know. I didn't even think about it.
A
Oh, I wouldn't have thought about it either. I.
C
When she was two and a half weeks old.
B
Well, how. Where'd you sit?
C
We were in. We were in the upper deck section, actually.
A
Those are quiet. Those are a little quieter.
B
Cuz we took cj. My sister and my brother in law took CJ when He was like 18 months old. And we were up. So it wasn't that loud. So I just didn't think about it. And our seats were low, like we were down. It was really loud and so it was super. I wouldn't have thought about that. And she was okay with it, but I just felt like bad. But it was super fun. And we were up really late last night. We didn't get home. So after 10, perfect. But it was good. Yes. He. We got to go on the field after and see our friend. Yeah. So CJ got to go out there and he thought it was awesome.
A
Oh, that's so.
B
Yeah, it was really fun. So that was great. I just. And I don't remember the weekend.
A
I feel like CJ's gonna be a baseball guy. I could see him being a baseball.
B
I think so too. Both of our grand. Like both of his grandparents love baseball. Caleb loves baseball. So I just feel like it's kind of ingrained in.
A
Cute.
B
Yeah. I mean, it's kind of the same for your boys too. Your dad loves baseball.
A
Yeah. Maybe they will. Yeah. I can't picture it right now.
B
I honestly can't picture anything.
A
I can't picture it right now.
B
I'm like, what's CJ still gonna grow up and just love trains. I'm just terrified of the thought of
A
putting a bat in there.
B
No, literally. So scary.
A
I'm like, no, we're not gonna. You can't be trusted.
B
No. And just flying baseballs around the house. I'm like, I don't know about that.
C
I asked Blake, we'll work our way there to play. And he said, soccer. He said, I wouldn't have thought of that one.
B
But little people think soccer is the cutest thing ever.
A
Me too.
B
Me too.
A
Cute. Oh, actually, when I was walking out of the grocery store one evening last week, this guy was, like, super nice to our kids in the grocery store. He was just a sweet guy. He was a grandpa. And then he's like, come with me to my car. And I was like, okay, we're not
B
supposed to do that.
A
Matt was out of town. And then I was literally one of those things where I was like, this is.
B
This is bad.
A
My mom was with me, so I was like, this is fine. And he had in his trunk a bunch of, like, game balls that I don't know what. He has some position with baseball. And he gave each of my kids full on heavy baseball, which they love.
B
That's so sweet.
A
But I'm also like, someone's gonna get a black eye. Don't follow people to their cars.
B
It's one of those moments where you're in it. You're like, this. This could have been a bad idea.
A
I had questions. I just kind of looked at my mom and she was like, oh, your
B
mom was with you?
A
Yeah.
B
She was like, okay, you're powering numbers.
A
It was dark. So that's why I felt a little bit more.
B
Oh, my gosh. I mean, this story.
A
Yeah, he was a super nice guy.
B
He keeps going.
A
He kept talking to us all throughout the grocery store and was like, sweet. Sweet, but great. Everything turned out.
B
It worked out great. And they got free baseball.
A
Be weird, Be rude. Stay alive.
B
That's right.
A
But my hope that this is great, that it was a busy week. My hope is that I have high energy recently.
C
Good.
A
Yeah.
B
Take a turn.
A
My energy feels, like, really high. Honestly, I'm like. I get up in the morning, I'm like, oh, yeah. I woke up 5:30 this morning. Wow, you really do take on my walks.
B
Yeah, I was so the opposite. I couldn't leave the house today. I told you, you had a lot going on. I know. It was just one of those days where I. I looked at my children and I looked at myself in the mirror and I was like, we're not leaving the house today. There's just no way. There's no way. And I felt deep shame about it. Don't feel shame.
A
That's what you're not supposed to do
B
in her Bible study. It's like, don't feel shame. And I'm like, I feel shame. I skipped. I skipped.
A
No, we were just making sure you were safe. Yeah, I know. Because you're usually late, so I told everyone not to be concerned.
B
Don't be concerned. She always gets here 30 minutes late.
A
I'm always late. And then always later than me. I know. You have a baby.
B
And so she's not that young anymore. I'm like, out of the range. I'm like, the newborn.
A
It's like, girl, Caleb, as long as you're nursing.
B
I told Caleb, I always miss burn workouts. Like, or the. I always miss the warm up. And he goes, how have you not made an adjustment? Like, I was like, I don't actually know. I'm just accepted. And he's like, you should adjust every day. Every day, 10 minutes late to the same things. He's like, how are you living your life like this?
C
That is actually such a great thing to think about.
B
Yeah. He's like, how have you just not made a change?
A
Okay, ouch.
B
Like, you know, he said it like, light hearted, and then it kind of stuck with me. I'm like, you're like, today's not the day.
C
That's. That's such an interesting thing too. Like, you guys both work out to a burn. I leave the house at 8:15 every single day. Like, that is the time I leave the house and I get there, have plenty of time.
A
I have to leave before that.
C
But do you. You don't leave it like that exact time every day?
B
No.
A
Usually Augie poops his pants right around that time.
B
That happens every day. I'm like, okay, loading up blowout.
A
Change diapers in my own garage.
C
Okay.
A
Because I'm like, now is the time.
B
You're just standing there with your arms crossed, just waiting.
A
Yeah. I'm like, we're not going nowhere. I really see him. I can tell. You know, mom knows.
B
Yeah, they have a thing.
A
I was like, are you doing it right now? He's like, no. I'm like, get on your back. Of course you are, because you have somewhere to be, right?
B
Exactly.
A
No, I'm like, of course you are,
B
because we were on time
A
anyway. I feel like I have high energy. What was your hope?
B
My hope is that.
A
Sometimes it's like that.
B
No, I have a lot of hope. I'm just trying to. I honestly can't think past this hour.
C
Your hair, your hair's Different.
A
Oh, my God. Thank you. You look gorgeous.
B
You know what, this is funny. I chopped a lot off. Thank you for saying I look gorgeous.
C
This is a goofy episode so far.
A
Sorry I'm out of hand.
B
I haven't talked to people till this moment.
C
You haven't talked to an adult yet today?
B
No. I mean, my mom was here, but I wasn't really talking. She was talking to me and I was like, nice. I need to apologize. Okay. Um, I don't know what came over me. When I went in to get my haircut, I was like, I want to cut it short. And she's like, how short we talking? And she kind of, you know, put her hands where. And I said, shorter and then there. And she was like. I was like, shorter. She goes, okay, well, maybe let's just do like a quick, you know, a rough chop and then we'll go back and see and fix it up. And I don't know what came over me. I was just very daring and I just kept telling. I was like challenging her. Like, shorter, shorter, shorter. To the point where she was like, hey, it's not going to look good. Like, your hair is so thick. And I need to text her and thank her for that advice because I'm trying to style it myself. I was like, go above the shoulder. Go to the chin. I was like getting crazy. She goes, hey, you know what? That's not gonna look good on you. And I was like, I appreciate that.
C
Thank you.
B
You had to shut it down. But it just came over me. I just kept challenging.
A
I love that about hairdressers though. I feel like they are honest. Like they are very.
B
Have to be.
A
Yeah. Because it's a pretty long term thing
B
and if we don't like it, we go back to them and they fix it for free, you know, so it's like they don't really want that.
A
I don't want to see you again.
B
Yeah, I don't want to see you.
C
Please never come back for a long time.
A
No, it looks great. The mom chop. Yeah.
B
It was time.
A
How much did you get cut off?
B
I think my hair was like, to my nibs. Yep.
A
Okay, great.
B
Yeah, I don't know.
A
I'm not gonna comment on that.
B
7 inches. 6 inches.
A
My hard. I guess. I don't know. I feel like if I cycle through this one all the time, probably like every four to six weeks where I just feel like I'm not productive and I'm just like every day I'm just like, didn't get done what I wanted Done. And then I just beat myself up, and then I'm like, okay, well, yeah, try again tomorrow. Yeah. Yeah.
B
Literally.
A
That's just one of those things I would say.
B
My heart is the same.
A
Just like, yeah, I'm like, I exhausted myself today. What do I have to show for it?
B
I know. I looked at my floors. This is one of the things that was really bothering me today. I just feel like our house was such a wreck. I looked around, and I was like, if food falls on the ground, it's not getting near anyone's mouth. Like, normally our house is clean enough to where if something falls on the floor, I don't blink an eye. Our floors were so gross. There was no chance, like, I wasn't gonna sit on the floor. It was just so gross. Like, our house was dirty, and I just was like, this is not. No. I feel sick to my stomach. You can't live like this.
A
No, I just. I feel like I had one too many days where I felt like I was just, like, hitting roadblocks, like, so I couldn't check something off of my list, and I was just spinning my wheels. Yeah, it's hard. Well, you know what? Today's a new day.
B
Today's a new. Today's a new day.
C
On the other side, I'd say I feel like you've done everything. Everything I've asked of you, you've done for me.
A
Really?
C
Yeah.
A
So I feel like every time I'm like. And then I just start. I'm, like, frustrated with myself. So then I'm like, I just got to go get mad at Matt right now.
C
Matt, give us done.
B
I just need someone to blame.
A
I have to apologize. I was like, I feel like I've just been pointing out a lot of your flaws because I'm. I am feeling hating myself right now. He goes, thank you for apologizing yesterday.
B
Caleb came home.
A
How he responds, because it feels like. It feels like shaky ground. Like, when I'm, like, gonna put myself out there because I could lash back really quick.
B
Yes.
A
Because I'm feeling like I'm doing this, doing this. But then if he doesn't respond right, it's really dangerous. So he's. I feel like he was, like. He was, like, quiet for a second. He goes, hey, thanks for saying that.
B
That's a good response. You're welcome. Yesterday, I was feeling. So I had a great day. Like, in the morning, went to the gym. My mom and I went shopping. Like, it was just a really fun morning. Went to Berry Divine, got acai bowls, and Then the last, like, four hours of the day, Caleb, I said, come home at five so we can leave for the game. And then it was just a crazy four hours. And Caleb got home 30 minutes late from work. And I was like. Called him. I said, where are you? And he was like, I'm so sorry. I'm coming. And then when he got home, I was just feeling irritated, and he's like. He goes, I'm so sorry. And then I looked at him. I was just like, I. There's no reason that I should feel irritated. I went shopping today. I went to the gym. I had a fun girls morning. And just one hour of my day was stressful. And I'm, like, taking it out on you today. I actually don't want you to apologize.
A
I was like, that's.
B
This is a pride thing.
A
Today was so much fun.
B
I actually had a really easy day.
C
Blake did that what you were saying to me the other day, because I'm very volatile sometimes, and sometimes I forget to throw diapers away. They just, you know, end up where they end up. Like, very, very kindly came up and said, thank you. You've done so much today. Like, doing the dishes and doing, like, cleaning up the house. Like, I really noticed that. Just, like, can we be better about throwing the diapers away?
A
Because would your dogs eat them?
C
No, they don't eat them anymore. He was just. He just stuck them. He just hates them. He just takes them out.
A
I see. No problem.
C
I exploded on him. I'm like. He's like, every time. And then we debrief afterwards, and he's like, how was I supposed to present that any nicer? I'm like, you just don't present it. You just don't say anything.
A
I honestly. They're so funny.
C
He knows when. He's like. I'm like, just don't say it.
A
Then if you knew it might be
B
an issue, like, got it. So can't say anything.
C
Remember those other 15 diapers I did throw away?
A
Like, this is one I know.
B
Dang.
C
I fall into that territory.
B
That's real life. That's real life.
A
Disgusting.
B
Well, that was good. Hopefully we can all relate to that. Everyone can relate.
A
Everybody, exciting news. It's already gone live. The live event. I don't actually know if by the time you're hearing this, if there are any slots available, right? But if there are, check that link and snag your spot because they are limited. And, I mean, I don't want to toot our own horns, but I'm expecting it's full at this point, but might as well give it a shot.
B
It was full last time.
A
That's why I feel. And we're excited to see you if you're signed up.
B
So excited.
A
This will be really fun. We're doing a little workout, a little hangout afterwards, and it's gonna be really fun.
B
So fun. I cannot wait. It's gonna be. It's tomorrow.
C
Yeah, it's tomorrow.
B
Yeah.
A
Oh, heck.
C
Heck.
B
You're gonna get your trainer.
A
So what am I gonna do?
B
You just run the room.
A
I'll just start doing my laps with my headphones on. She's actually doing building labs, you guys. I keep seeing the same neighbors every time because I also do, like, two laps.
B
Hello, it's me again.
A
Again. You never know when you're gonna find me. I got rained on this morning on my walk.
C
Oh, I love.
A
It was dark, though, so.
B
Oh, my gosh, Abby. 5:30 in the morning.
A
Yeah.
B
Oh, my gosh.
A
Gotta do what you gotta do. It takes a long time, and I can't take my kids with me.
B
It's true.
A
So it's a good idea.
B
I'm excited for today's episode.
A
I'm very excited. I was actually getting real, like, a lot of these things that I'm brought up, I'm, like, passionate about. I'm like, oh, I could talk forever about this.
B
Oh, my gosh.
A
That's actually.
B
Let's wrap it up. This idea was one of our original ideas. We're doing an Abby's favorites episode.
A
Think of us as Oprah.
B
Think of us as Oprah. Think of us as YouTubers.
A
Yes.
B
Remember when YouTubers used to do, like, monthly favorite?
A
Yes. I loved that. That's actually my most YouTube era. I went back with this episode just to kind of, like, look at. I just went through some of the thumbnails of the ones I watched. Yeah. And I was like, oh, my gosh. All these videos are, like, nine to 12 years ago.
B
Yes. I used to watch them every month.
A
Yes.
B
Some of those OG beauty guru creators, Jaclyn Hill. I lived off her videos when everyone
A
was talking about the naked palettes.
B
I still have.
A
I still have my naked. Everyone's got it.
B
Surely.
A
I have the naked, too.
B
I never got the two. It was cool toned, so.
A
Oh, I didn't know my tones at all. I just got what I got.
B
I know. Thank you, Quints, for sponsoring today's episode.
A
I have been doing a little wardrobe reset recently. Quince is always a go to for me. I really love focusing on quality products. That is Something that I can speak to Quince for. Their pieces are just really well made, versatile. I specifically love their fleece shorts. I talk about them a lot. They're just super comfortable. They're the perfect mom short, I feel like. And they can fit over my bump. And I anticipate I'll also be able to wear them after pregnancy as well.
B
I'm the same. I love quality pieces over quantity. They do a really good job of having really high quality fabric. So we're talking 100% silk. That's washable cashmere blended sweaters. It's just nice knowing that the fabrics that you're putting on your body are well made. They're good for you, they're good for the planet.
A
They use premium materials like 100% European linen, organic cotton, and super soft denim with style starting around $50.
B
Their spring pieces are lightweight, breathable and effortless. The kind of things you can throw on and instantly look put together. That same focus on materials carries over into their accessories, like their leather bags, which are made from 100% hand woven Italian leather. Honestly, they look way more expensive than they are.
A
And how Quince does it is they work directly with the ethical factories to cut out the middleman, provide you with affordable prices with such high quality materials and fabrics.
B
Refresh your spring wardrobe with quince. Go to quince.comabby for free shipping and 365 day returns. Now available in Canada too. So go to quince Q-U-I-N-C-E-.com Abby for free shipping and 365 day returns. Quince.com Abby instead of going straight into
A
our favorites, we're going to talk about some of the, in our opinion, over hyped.
B
Yeah.
A
Overpraised, maybe overpriced products. Just ones that were kind of flops. Let us down.
B
Sure.
A
And we actually pulled you guys on the always here podcast, Instagram, which if you're not following us there, because it's really fun, we usually try to engage with you guys on there like every week for these episodes. So it's fun when this is kind of like a mutual thing. We give you some, you give us some. It's just fun this way. So you want to start naming some of these. Okay.
B
You're not gonna agree with this first one. No, I don't.
A
I already don't.
B
She said chomps. This is Ashlyn. Chomps. You love chomps.
A
I mean, yeah, I think it's a great snack.
B
I've actually never had a chomp.
C
What you've Never taken one from Abby's house.
B
I've never had a chomp. I get these turkey sticks from Sam's, and to be honest, the casings on these beef sticks are a little freaky, but I.
A
Your turkey sticks are a weird color.
B
They. Yeah, they are.
A
They're really thick and long.
C
I just think it's a good option.
B
It is a good protein. It's a good protein. Yes.
A
Okay. This one says Stanley cups.
B
You know, I would agree, only because I. I love the 40 ounce traveler. I don't think that's ever hyped. But spilling. There's just better options. Now, Gracie said baby swaddles. I.
A
That moral reflex. What are you doing?
B
What are you talking about?
A
Yeah, are your kids just chill.
B
Your kids don't switch sperm in the night. Rebecca said, honestly, smartphones. Overhyped and addictive.
A
Addictive for sure. Totally overhyped. I would if I had to switch to one of those, like, what do they call those? Block phones. I thought about it. Block phones.
C
You can put block on a smartphone.
A
Oh, that's not what I'm talking about.
B
That's. You're talking about brick.
C
Oh, I'm thinking of brick. Maybe block is a thing.
A
I don't know. They have these, like, basic phones. And I was like, for a while, that sounded good, but I was like, I would have to really adjust. Like, do I get a map at that point? Like, do I get a physical map? How do I find phone numbers for, like, gps, anything?
B
Right.
A
It just feels like it would be way more complicated to get rid of it now.
B
I do, too. Yeah. Apple's done a wonderful job.
A
I think we need the system. I think it needs the hype.
B
Jalen. Oh, I'm sorry. I'm reading them all.
A
No, I like it.
B
You read it.
A
Where are we at?
B
Okay.
C
Because I'm like, I know you guys
A
will disagree with crumble cookies. I can agree that. Yeah. I mean, I enjoy them.
B
Yeah.
A
They're very sweet.
B
I'm never gonna be upset when they're presented to me.
A
I gotta be honest. I watch a review of their cookies every week.
B
Still, people are just mean to be mean about crumble, if I'm gonna be honest.
A
Yeah. They're like, it's not baked properly. I'm like, oh, are you okay? Are you?
B
Yeah. I'm sorry. Professional. You want a cookie for being so smart at cookies?
A
Like, what are we doing?
C
Not a crumble cookie.
A
I really want to try this week's lineup, but it doesn't look like I'm gonna make my Way there. But can see that they're.
B
I mean, there's a lot of hype.
A
I love a cookie, though. Vibration plates.
B
What is this? I'm sorry. This is a scam. This is just a scam. Have you seen those plates where the girls stand and they just go, what? You know what I'm talking about. Yeah. And they're like. It's like lymphatic drainage, and it's like doing 50%.
C
This might have been the most, like, submitted thing was the vibration plate.
A
I did not even know.
C
They are a big thing right now.
B
This is on the same. This is on par with me with the red light therapy mask. I'm sorry, ladies.
A
Where are these? Wait, what is a vibration plate?
B
Like, you stand on this plate, your house. It looks like a scale. Like a weight scale. Yeah, yeah. And you would just do it while you're, like, brushing your teeth and it vibrates and shakes your whole body. And people are like, it's really good for your circulation. I'm like, just stretch. You know what I mean?
A
Circulation.
B
Yeah. I don't know what the benefits of that are. I don't know. I'm just assuming some of these claims, but I agree.
A
That doesn't sound right.
B
Okay, this next one's. Oh, she's kind of. So she put a list. Claw clips, Oreos, dry shampoo. I have to disagree on Oreos. Oreos. I never buy or eat buy them. But when I eat them. Yeah, the sleeve is gone. They're so good.
A
That's the one you chose to disagree on.
C
I will say with Oreos, you can't get a knockoff Oreo. It does not taste the same.
A
If it's not double stuff.
B
Get out.
A
The other day. The other day, I've been buying Oreos. Oh, my gosh.
C
Matt was eating a golden Oreo.
B
Golden.
A
I wanted the golden ones.
C
And he walks over and starts talking to Abby. And she goes, did you just eat a golden Oreo?
A
I could smell it on him. That was a mic. No, I had a genius, genius pregnancy craving idea. I was like golden Oreos in a vanilla milkshake with malt powder. It was delicious.
B
That does sound really good. But I don't think anything with a cookie blended in is bad.
A
Okay, wait. Claw clips and dry shampoo. No, those are. Those are pretty great.
B
Those are great.
A
Katie says, clean, simple, eats, clear protein girl. I love their regular protein powder, but can't go with the clear. Really strongly disagree.
B
Some flavors do taste more stevia than others, so I think it depends. I think it's flavor dependent. So I don't fully disagree.
A
I mean, have you tried the sour watermelon?
B
The sour watermelon's so good. I just got the pink starburst one. It's great.
A
That one's the second best. They need to make a fruit punch one I love.
B
I know. Wait, I didn't like their sodas. The clear.
A
Yeah, those are different. Those have a. I mean, I like them, but they definitely don't have. They have a different flavor, different aftertaste.
B
Yeah. But the powder is amazing.
A
Oh, I disagree. Jordan. This next one is the doona car seat slash stroller.
B
That thing is the love of my life.
A
I don't know how to have a baby without it. I mean.
B
What do you mean? You just put pumpkin. You're carrying a pumpkin around.
C
No.
B
You always got wheels in the back of your trunk. How does that work? No, no, I don't know about that.
A
I don't know about that.
C
Other people. I have a duna too. Yeah. So I'm like, I don't.
B
Yeah, I don't know how you live your life.
C
I don't know how you live without it. But also, are these people who saying it's overrated. Have they had one True.
B
Oh, do they have the nuna? The people are like, the dude, but the nuna's like double the price.
A
No, it's very.
C
Doesn't do the same thing that a duna does.
B
No, you got to carry the pumpkin and transport.
C
I do understand it is heavy, but what you do, you just take kid out of it whenever you need.
A
You just have to get stronger as your baby gets bigger.
B
Exactly.
C
Go look at Abby's video from a really long time ago of when you were like, this is why I.
A
This is why I work out.
C
Why I work out.
A
Literally got to tote my 18 month old huge baby in a duna.
B
He was in that duna a long time.
A
Really long time. People are like, oh, I get rid of the dinner. They grew out of it. I'm like, they did not grow out of it.
C
That's what you said.
A
I was like, they did not grow out of that.
B
This gal said bottle warmers and baby specific laundry detergent. I would agree with this. I've never had a bottle warmer.
C
But I don't understand not having a bottle warmer. I don't get it. I bottle warm every.
A
You guys are interested. You have warming bottles.
B
Yeah, I don't have one, but I'm not like, opposed.
C
Do you just take cold milk out of the fridge if you're Giving them a bottle.
B
No, I just take the bag and I run under smoking hot water in the sink.
C
I don't want to sit there. I want to put it in the bottle warmer and walk away.
A
And then it really doesn't take long.
B
Why do you have to sit. Why do you have to sit there?
A
It takes longer to do the bottle warmer, if I'm totally honest with you.
B
And also one time I saw you guys, I think Blake had it boils
A
water on the still to this day in a pot.
C
Well, it's because we pack it in a bottle. That's why we do it like that.
B
But it is harder if it's in a bottle. When it's in a bag. It's not.
C
We always pack it in.
A
Like if you were running a bottle under the sink, that would never work probably. But the bag, it warms up really quick. Quicker than a bottle warmer.
B
I would have.
C
Maybe we'll try that next time.
A
But no, I was going to say I do want to get a bottle warmer next time.
C
Okay.
A
It.
C
It's. I think it's bad, you guys.
B
The water on the stove. Cuz it's in a bottle. Do you use glass bottles?
A
No.
C
Use plastic bottles. But he does it. We don't have a bottle warmer here.
B
Right.
C
So at home we do have a bottle and we have a portable.
B
I was always confused why you guys had the boiling pot. But that makes sense because it's in the bottle.
A
It does a pot of water on my stove so many times.
C
And also one of the time running like he left.
B
He like this was boiling. No, he loved.
A
Left the stove on all day.
B
I've done that before. Yeah, I've done that before.
A
We have gas.
C
It's a little concern baby specific laundry detergent though, though.
A
You don't need that.
B
Yeah, you just get a clean. Just get a scent free and clear.
C
She doesn't have any reaction to me. So I'm like, like if she's on my. You know what I mean? Your baby's not having a reaction to your clothes being near you.
A
Our kids did actually.
B
That's kind of a good point, Addy. It's like you're washing your kids clothes and other things but you're holding your kids when you've got detergent. That's not.
A
I don't even think Dreff's good for like the famous brand drift. It's not even probably good. It's very fragranced.
B
Yeah, I like it.
C
I love it because I have it. Once I run out, I'm not buying it.
B
Yeah.
A
I mean, I like it because it reminds me of a baby.
C
Yeah.
B
Yeah.
A
But I don't think I'm, like, doing something special for them. Teeth whitening at home literally leaves my teeth sensitive.
B
I did it today, actually, but I use the Lumina ones. They don't leave me sensitive. Or the Eno Pro, but apparently a dentist said those don't work, so I did ads for them. I thought they worked.
A
I have fake teeth, so I can't.
B
Yeah. Okay.
A
Buying a house. Everything is always breaking, and we, my husband, have to fix it. Okay. Honestly, kind of true. My husband, in parentheses, 25 step skincare routines.
B
Absolutely.
A
Your skin can only take so much.
B
Yeah. I don't know. That's not all.
A
Soaking in layers 4 through 25. Breaking the barrier.
B
Yeah, your barrier is broken.
A
Dyson Airwrap.
B
I don't have one, so I can't
A
say I don't have one. I actually wrote this as one of my personal flops.
B
Oh, interesting.
A
I borrowed one. I borrowed them, actually. I could say, like, two to three times. It's actually one of the most returned products.
B
Interesting. I mean, it's really expensive, so it's difficult.
A
It's hard to use. But even when you do use it, it takes a while for me, at least. And your hair just falls right out.
B
It does.
A
Okay.
B
So I have the T3 micro version, and I like it, but it's. I had to lower my expectations of what my curl is going to look like. It's like a blowout look or just like, movement, but I'm like, that's a lot of work for a light curl.
A
Just curl the ends of your hair.
B
I know.
A
Totally heatless curls. I agree.
B
I agree. I did it twice, and I was like, I'm out on this.
A
I don't want a headache, and I want to sleep good, and I want to be comfortable, and I don't care what my hair looks like.
B
Cyber truck. I don't have an opinion. I feel like it's a good billboard.
A
I think they're hideous.
B
I mean, yeah, they're stupid. Here's what I think about them. I appreciate the innovation.
A
I agree.
B
I like. I like that it's different.
A
My sons think they're cool.
B
Right. I'm like, you know, I like that it doesn't look like a normal car, but that's as far as my.
A
My husb.
B
Appreciation goes for.
A
And there will be a cyber truck in our driveway.
B
Did you order?
A
Matt Howard did.
B
What about your mom car? I don't.
A
I'm getting A mom car. Still.
C
He literally told me, but Abby, you're the spender.
B
I'm the spender. Oh my gosh.
A
I'm gonna give me a freaking Kia carnival.
B
Yeah, baby. He's like, he's like not the minivan, but the cyber truck.
A
I was like, that feels like a dad car.
B
Matt's getting a truck.
A
He drove a truck in high school and he just misses that.
B
Oh, I thought that was Caleb's truck. Did they share it? The black? I don't know.
A
I feel like Caleb's taking a couple.
B
Probably. Yeah, he probably did. Okay, mentioned already on the pod, but red light therapy. Love from Ireland, Maria Mario.
A
We are one eye masks. Why are we wearing them to our workouts? I. I feel like they are worn.
B
You're supposed to wear for like 10 minutes.
A
Like, why are they all performative?
B
I don't know.
A
It's performative. Like I haven't worn them because it kind of feels like it's gonna over stimulate me. Like the sticker on my face.
B
I actually really like them and I used the ones they were just from Amazon. It was Therese and Honor was the brand. And I wore them every morning for a month and I noticed a huge difference in my under eyes. Yeah. So. And those weren't that expensive, but yeah,
A
you only wear maybe just for the extended wear.
C
I saw video of a creator wearing them and she started in the morning and then went and got her hair done and she had them on the entire, like hair coloring, everything. Like the whole.
A
They're becoming the new pimple stickers.
C
They're the pimple patches.
B
But they don't even. Why they don't last that long.
C
I.
B
Unless you're like replacing them. Maybe she's replacing them. No, no.
A
Mrs. Cammy tear has a controversial spicy Ms. Gammy.
B
She said condoms. She said, I mean, when you are married, they're just the most horrible thing.
A
I agree.
B
I'm team. Team that. I'm team condom. Listen, I'm not trying to have a baby and I'm not doing the other stuff. So there's other ways.
A
Hokas. What? No, we love our hokas. That's on my list. I love the color and feel, but they were not durable and barely lasted me three months.
B
Oh, you know what mine lasts about? I would say if I wear mine a lot, they last like six to eight months. They're not like a full year long shoe.
A
Yeah, but that's like any run. Which running shirt.
B
They're also meant for running only. Like you're not supposed to wear Them all the time. Time. So if you're a nurse or something, I feel like if you're like, you're putting. You're pounding the pavement on those. I could see you running through them
A
quickly, but what else are you going to wear?
B
No, I'm saying they should, but I could see them not lasting as long if you're using them that often. Like, I only wear mine on walks and runs.
A
This next one actually creates a reaction to me. Kindles. Mary,
B
I'm sorry we're disagreeing at all.
A
Do you have one?
C
I did, kind of. I was like, I'm going to pick ones that I think did you.
B
Addie's rage baiting us.
A
Why are you rage baiting? I love kindles.
B
Riley said Dr. Pepper's low key. Gross.
A
Addy loves Dr. Pepper.
C
Dr. Pepper. Zero every day.
B
That's so funny. I don't like Dr. Pepper personally, but
C
I don't like Coke. And I used to always. My maiden name is pronounced Coke. And I was like, it's so I should like. Like, I literally took that personally.
A
Things you were stuck on.
C
I should never be a Coke. That's why I was meant to be abysmal.
B
Addie, I never said your last name for a long time.
A
Cause I was like, is it Koch?
B
Is it.
C
People said it a lot. It's K O, C, H spelled Coke. Blake tells me it's pronounced Cook. I'm like, that is not how my. I will tell you how my last name is pronounced.
B
He's like, you're actually wrong. Danny said E bikes. Maybe.
A
Maybe I kind of agree. I was like, I want my kids to pedal their own bike. But then I realized it'd be left behind.
B
I know I would say that all the time. Like, poor CJ's gonna be left in the dust by these kids. Lululemon leggings. 100% disagree. Sorry. Next.
A
I kind of agree, but I private on that one.
B
Well, I'll talk about this later.
A
Abby drank the potion because she worked there.
B
Don't steal one of my stories for later, ladies.
A
Okay? Okay. Now let's go into our personal flops. We already said my first one, which was the airwrap. I can't.
B
Oh, that was on your list?
A
I used it. Yeah, I used it a couple times with friends because I was seriously going to buy one. This was in that time where you couldn't even buy one because they were being bought all the time. But turns out most of those ended up returned. I. There was like a crazy high return rate. I don't Know what it was, but I think it's because it is a disappointing product, and I don't think people would have been as disappointed by the results if it wasn't, like, $500.
B
Yeah, it's very expensive. Yes, I understand. That's a price point for. That's a premium price.
A
Premium price for whatever product. Not a great return.
B
Okay. My first one is. Sorry, Abby.
A
It's.
B
Well, it's natural deodorant, but it's specifically. Well, it's all of them. Okay. I've tried all of them. I've tried them all. I tried.
A
You have weird pits, though.
B
I know. That's why every single one, I get an allergic reaction to. And this is a bad story. You ready for this one? I did an ad for Wild deodorant. What'd you say? I'm coming clean.
A
I love Wild.
B
I actually stand by it because I emailed them. I said, hey, I actually have a lot of allergic reactions to natural deodorants, so I'm probably gonna pass. And I go, we have a sensitive line. So they sent me the sensitive line. I used it, and I did not break out. So I put the refill in. I was using it. I did my ad. It was great. I ran through the sensitive one, and I put in the next sensitive one. Yeah. Immediately, my armpits blew up.
A
And you need to figure out your allergies.
B
No one. Ever since then, I haven't been able to use their deodorant, but it was them. Primally pure. Toms love Beauty Planet. I mean, I've tried.
A
Like, I feel like you're not alone. I feel like a lot of people dislike natural deodorants. But here's my argument. I feel like yours is different because you're having an allergic reaction. You can't really. Like.
B
I don't know what it is, but I. Your.
A
Your armpits do need an adjustment period. If you're used to, like, antiperspirants, for example, like, you're. You have to, like, you're gonna sweat. You're gonna sweat for a while. Your body will regulate, and then. Same with odor. Like, it will. You do. There's a period of time.
B
Yeah, I agree.
A
But then I feel like you also. Your body will adjust, and I think it's kind of worth it.
B
Yeah. Yeah. I just can't tolerate it.
A
Tolerate it. Yeah. Dang it. Well, you're not alone on that one. Yep. I do love Wild deodorant. Okay, I have to preface this one by saying I love Supergoop. Sunscreen.
B
I have it in my purse right now.
A
I love it. I love it. What I'm not sold on and was actually kind of disappointed by was their tinted sunscreens.
B
Oh, interesting.
A
Yeah, they don't. You rub it in and disappears. It doesn't do anything for the tinting aspect. Doesn't do anything. So don't buy it for that reason. If you're hoping to have, like, a. Like a little coverage, a little color, it doesn't do it.
B
Can I actually say I don't understand tinted sunscreens at all? I have some, and I'm like, what do you mean? I'm gonna put this tinted sunscreen on and then put makeup on top of it. And then do I reapply?
A
No, I think the point is to. No. What?
B
Right? I'm confused.
A
No, I think the point is just if you're not gonna wear makeup, you could wear that. Like, if you're not wearing makeup, like, at the pool and you want, like, a little glow.
B
Oh, okay. I would misunderstood the problem.
A
I don't think you're supposed to put makeup on top of it.
B
Okay, so. Yeah, I was doing it wrong. Okay, I'm gonna do it.
A
You put sunscreen on and then makeup and then sunscreen on.
B
Tinted. Like, it's a. Like a. Like a. Like a cream for my face. Like a foundation.
A
Yeah.
B
Yeah.
C
So you're not supposed to put makeup on top of it.
B
Okay.
C
So you know to be your makeup.
A
Okay.
B
But then my hands were tinted, and so then I'm like. You're just telling me you're going to the pool and you're wearing. You've got, like, tinted.
A
Wash your hands. It's not supposed to stain your hands
B
inside of the pool.
C
No, put it.
B
I just don't get it.
C
Like, put it on in the morning.
A
Goofy. I just don't get it.
C
That one. Don't put it in your bag. Put that one on your kitchen.
A
Put it on your bathroom counter.
C
The tinted one.
B
I'm just not gonna use it.
A
Don't do it. Don't use it, Abby. It's not for you.
B
Okay, my next one. I have the wall E phone case. Let me show you. Pull this up.
A
Wait, don't say you don't like that.
B
No, no, I love my wall e phone case. I got the magnetic case because I was like, oh, I have this, which I actually like because I take it off. I could put this on my stuff, like my tripod. Tripod?
A
Yeah.
B
I used to have the. It's not the ollipop what's it called that you stick to the back? The octo, buddy. Okay, so I love.
A
My People are clicking off.
B
They're like, this girl should not have a microphone. Okay. The octobody is amazing. And so I got the Wallipop, which is their magnetic version. Free.
A
Free.
B
That was the longest wheeze I've ever.
A
Definitely. The more pregnant I get, the more I'm gonna wheeze.
B
You gotta take a breath.
A
That was never ended.
B
He just doesn't need an explanation anyway. The Wallipop sticks to nothing. It sticks to nothing. Okay, don't buy the Wallipop.
A
The wall Web. You're getting so niche. I know.
B
No one's buying. No one's buying this except you.
A
No one's buying the lollipop. All these names are so similar.
B
I'm sorry.
A
Oh, my gosh. I'm not okay.
B
This is niche. You're right.
A
I did not know that's what that was called.
B
That's why I keep calling it an ollipop on accident.
A
I didn't know why. I didn't know why. Now I get it. I'm so sorry.
B
Sorry, everybody. We can skip this one. It's dumb. Just don't buy the lollipop. It doesn't stick to anything.
A
Okay.
B
Just get the regular phone case.
A
That's all I have for flops. I couldn't think of anything else. I feel like I'm generally pleased with my product.
B
Yeah. Okay. My other dime. I love dime as a. In a whole general. But their skincare doesn't work for my face. That's all.
A
So that's all.
B
That's all.
A
Okay, let's go on to our personal favorites. I feel like, naturally, let's stick with the beauty category. We'll do beauty and style.
B
Mine is. Okay. I have very, very, very. Oh, we brought a show and tell. We're show and telling for the people that can see.
A
Is that a pot of gold? That's so dumb. That was such a dumb joke.
B
Oh, my gosh. We're never gonna get there.
A
We're never gonna finish this. I don't think we can recover from this. Okay. Gosh dang it.
B
All right, here we go. My favorite beauty product is the Versed serum concealer. If you have very dry under eyes, this is not going nowhere. And it's not like a cakey, but it's very light. It doesn't get into my creases, and it's really good. Next.
A
I don't want it to get in. It's from Target.
B
You can get it from Target. Okay. Skincare. Do you have any show and tell things for your skin care?
A
Good old basic Cerave.
B
Oh, that's. That's classic, you guys.
A
But this kind don't get the hydrating one. Get the oil control one. This one is recommended by dermatologists, like, everyone. This doesn't clog your pores. It actually gets your skin clean.
B
Wow.
A
And I have used this since I was in college.
B
Wow.
A
But I also have another one. Yeah, this one's a new favorite.
B
Oh, vacation. Their packaging is so cute.
A
And, Abby, this is a sunscreen you can't mess up for your face. You literally spray it on top. But I'll do it right now.
B
That's cool.
A
I love this because I need to reapply face sunscreen. But if I. I got a map. It smells really good, but SPF 50. And I like. If I have my face all done, then I'm like, I don't want to rub in more sunscreen on my face.
B
Right.
A
But this, you just spray on top.
B
That's a genius product. And in your hairline, I. Oh, that's smart. I always get burned on my scalp, so I always put sunscreen in my hairline, and it's literally just like white cream in my hair. That's. That'd be perfect for that.
A
I love this stuff.
B
And your ears and stuff that are hard to get.
C
Wow.
B
Okay. I might have to get that.
A
You really should. You get at cvs.
B
Okay. Clutch. My skincare product is actually everything in anything Merit. Skincare is unbelievable. I love their instant Glow Serum. I love their moisturizer. I've repurchased those probably four times myself. But this is a new product that blew me away. It's the great Skin Double Cleanse Face Wash. It's a foaming. Look how much I've used. It's a foaming face wash. Ooh, I
A
love a foaming one.
B
It's so good. I've actually never had a face wash that actually took my makeup off in one go. I do this over my sink. It's really foamy. It's really light. Gets everything off. I use white towels after. No marks for my makeup. I've never had that. Like, it's fully off my face. My skin is clean. Actually, I learned something from watching your videos. I used to never. I used to always avoid my eyes with my cleanser because in the Neutrogena commercials growing up with the celebrities, they would always go around their eyes.
A
Oh.
B
So I would always have to take my eye makeup off separately. With Vaseline. Yeah. I started using it on my eyes. It helps a lot, actually.
A
My videos.
B
What? No, the Neutrogena ads. Do you remember those? Oh, yeah, your videos. When you, like, take your makeup off with your balm and you put over your eyes. I was like, you could put cleanser on your eyes.
A
Oh, yeah. I'm an old lady that likes cold cream. So do you. What makes it double cleansing.
B
It has an oil and a. Oh.
A
But do still wash before it separates.
B
And you have to shake it up before. No, you use it once. Shake. Well, Apply three to four pumps. I don't know what it is, to be honest, but it has. It separates. That's all I can say about it. And you have to mix it up so it has a whatever.
A
It has a whatever. Next category. Fragrance. For this one, I actually ran out of mine because I love it so much, and it was really sad to part with, but this is kind of niche. I don't feel like people talk about this one, but the molecule O2 fragrance.
B
Oh, I don't know.
A
Never heard of that. I'm gonna buy another one. You guys can all smell it. But it is a fragrance that I would love to one day try to find a way to recreate because. And, like, with a slightly more feminine version, it is such a clean, kind of musky scent. And it just. I like. It's so hard to find this smell because I feel like a lot of musky ones kind of go to, like, a woody scent. Yeah. And I'm like, I don't. That feels a little too masculine.
B
Yeah.
A
This one feels, like, clean and, like, musky, though. And I just. I can't really describe scents very well, but this, you can get it on Amazon, and I'm going to repurchase. It's a little pricey.
B
Oh, I feel like you like romantic scents.
A
I'm a romantic person.
B
I know. Yes, that makes sense. Like a little musky. It's like. That's kind of a romantic.
A
Yeah, I like rose. I feel like that's like a. Like, it's kind of like you don't hear a lot of rose scented things anymore either. Kind of feel like an old lady for liking it.
B
Yeah, I like rose. Yeah. I love that. My fragrance. I do have it for show and tell. Looking for my pot of gold.
A
You have pants in there in that pot.
B
I brought everything.
A
Okay.
B
You can see I need to restock it. It's the Dime 7 Summers perfume.
A
Oh, I have that one.
B
I know you do. I actually got it. I came here For Griffin's gender reveal. And you had the dime perfumes.
A
Oh, it brings me back to that time of our.
B
Yes. I've used it since then, since 2022. And I just keep repurchasing it. I love that it's clean so that when I'm spraying it, I don't like CJ or video. Aren't gonna have reactions to it. It's light. I love this smell. Specifically, I love vanilla. And it's like really warm and just. It's just a good classic smell that I think smells good on everybody. And yeah, I just will never not buy this. I love it. And it's like 30, 37 or something really expensive.
A
And I actually have kind of learned. Why is that? It's it. The ink, what goes into them is very expensive.
B
I believe it. Yeah, I know this one. You do have to reapply often. It's not like the most long lasting scent, I will say, but it smells.
A
Oh, the molecule lasts even through a wash, you guys.
B
Wow.
A
Now I don't think it's clean.
B
No.
A
But it lasts through a wash. That's out.
B
The merit perfume, the retrospect. I love it. But it's like one spritz and it could be too much. But I love it and it's long lasting. Oh, that's really good. Yeah.
A
For fashion. I actually ordered another one and it was on my front door. I made an unboxing on the podcast. Wow. I love that. Let's be real. I'm not very fashionable right now. I feel like I'm just, you know, comfy. What's easy? And I've been really loving the comfort matching sets.
B
They're so good.
A
Guess who I got on these as well?
B
Me.
A
Okay, you and who else?
B
Who else?
A
Val. Val's gotten a couple too. But like. Oh, these cute. These might show my undies. Oh, no biggie, no biggie. Honestly. I got the pink one, I have the green one. But like I'm telling you, if you're pregnant or postpartum and you want to just be able to still wear them, like you want to feel put together. Okay, here's the thing. The truth about it. You can wear pajamas if they're completely matching and you put on a pair of shoes.
B
Yeah. And some makeup.
A
Yeah. Maybe do something.
B
Want your hair or your makeup? You gotta do one of them.
A
I don't know if this is actually. Maybe it might be marketed as a pajama set.
B
Oh, really? I didn't know that.
A
I don't know. I don't care. I'M wearing it out. I wear it to the zoo. I wear it everywhere. No, I love those. Super comfortable. They have so many colors.
B
Yeah.
A
And patterns as well.
B
I love it. You got me the pants set for Christmas, and I love it.
A
Oh, I also have a more dressy option. Oh, I know. I have a more dressy option from Quince. They have these cotton cashmere, so it must be, like, a blend. Ribbed dresses. And I just got the. I think it's like a cocoa. Like a dark brown one.
B
The tank top I wore on last
A
night, that same color? Yes. You can get these dresses, and so if you're pregnant, it will definitely stretch. They're so comfortable. Very high quality. And how often do you see cashmere for under $100?
B
I know.
A
And it would be great for, like, all seasons. You could wear it for fall. Dress it up, like, with a sweater or a jacket on top. Or now, like, I'm gonna wear it all summer.
B
Heck, yeah, baby.
A
I think that is a great wardrobe staple.
B
Yeah, I would agree. Okay, my. Well, let me button them.
A
Abby's draws are out.
B
Hold on one moment. Let me zip them. Wait, let's do a little asmr.
A
That's special.
B
Okay. These are the Abercrombie Curve Love loose shorts. I actually think these are the dad shorts, but I think they might be discontinuing the dad short and transferred it to the loose. I could be wrong, but both of them. I have the loose and I have the dad, and I'm obsessed. I need the curve love because I do have a small waist and big hips like a big booty.
A
Poor you.
B
And they're the only ones that, like, really do. They don't gap in the back, so they're really comfortable. They're the perfect length. I feel like they're fun to dress up or dress down. And it's the perfect. This is the medium wash. I have them in medium and black. I just feel like you can dress them up or down really easily. Just a good classic. It's the first pair of denim jeans I've had that's 14 years old.
A
The first pair you've had.
B
Because I've just never liked the length.
A
They're so hard to find.
B
They're so hard to find. And I love the length because it goes past, like, the wide part of my thigh, which I don't want them to be so short that, like, I don't know. It just feels too short if it's past that. Do you know what I mean? It's the perfect length. I know, I love him. I love them. I love them.
A
That's a really good find because I feel like denim shorts are just.
B
I know. And they're on sale all the time.
A
They're hard.
B
They're so good.
A
I love Abercrombie.
B
Yeah.
A
For accessories, I did my truly blessed jewels necklace stack because I actually don't feel like I want to spend my time accessorizing. It's just not on my list of priorities on the day to day. But I love that these are permanent and they're an awesome local business. Well, they're in Scottsdale, but. And I just, like think that they have really high quality, high quality materials that you can personalize. And so I have like all my kids, like, little charms on this one. I love this little pearl one. That's the Kaya pearl choker. And this one has all my kids birthstones and Matt's birthstone.
B
Oh, which one?
A
My top one.
B
Oh, yeah.
A
They seem to have gotten a little tangled, but I love that you don't think about it. So it has Matt Griffin and Auggie's birthstones.
B
Cute. So pretty.
A
Yeah. I really can't recommend them enough. I think that's an amazing. Honestly with May coming up. Amazing Mother's Day treat for your mom, for your husband to give you. Like, it's just quality, simple, beautiful pieces that will last and obsessed. And they're a small business, so. Yeah. Love that. Yeah.
B
I love my chain bracelet from them. Our matching ones that Addie cut off for her cruise.
C
I cut off for my cruise so I can go down the water tree.
B
Reason we kind of just have to
C
go get new ones.
B
It's for the memory, though. It was for the memory. My favorite accessory. This is a little bit of a pricey one, but it truly is my favorite right now. It's my new bag. It's the air coach shoulder bag. It's the perfect size. I have this thing stuffed because it's currently my diaper bag, but it has three pockets. We will maybe we'll do what's in my bag in a few that'd be fun episodes. But it has two, like, magnetic pockets on the outside and then a zipper pocket in the middle and. And it's a shoulder strap bag, so I like that things feel secure. I have a Vivi pocket, a mommy pocket, and a C.J. pocket. Oh, yeah, I love it. Actually. It all kind of bleeds into mine, but it's okay order. It's such a beautiful bag and for it to be leather, I think it's around 250. Which is a good. I mean.
A
Oh, I thought you were gonna say it was way more. Because those designer bags get crazy.
B
I know. It's from the outlet store. They still have it. It's the Aaron shoulder bag. It's like the perfect.
A
I like the color too. Thanks.
B
I know I wanted a brown.
A
Okay, moving on to our next category. It's home and lifestyle. What's your favorite home item?
B
Okay, this is. This is gonna sound really bougie of me. I will say I got sent these items in our house, but I feel like every time I look at them, I'm like, those are so beautiful and so perfect. It's our curtains. They're all from two pages. They're the custom curtains. They're. They're just pleated. They're pressed pleat. They stay in place. They're really thick, heavy duty, beautiful fabric. And I just like, our house is small, so the touches that we can make that feel special and custom make a big impact in our house. And I just look at them in our. In the rooms. I'm like, wow, those are so special. So if you can budget and save for them and get custom curtains, I go room by room. It, like, transforms your space. And we got them from two pages, and I love them.
A
I purchased them on my own dime.
B
I know.
A
And I have the curtains and blinds.
B
And would you say it's worth it?
A
They're worth it for me in the fact that they were very user friendly to order from.
B
Yes, they are.
A
Because I'm like, I don't know the first thing about blinds. So I needed a lot of help. And so, yes, I would definitely say that. Okay, this one is also kind of frivolous, but I said our roborock. It's a, like, electric vacuum mop. And I hate cleaning floors. Like, I just. I just hate it so much. And so we just run this thing every night. It is so smart, this little robot. It goes around our dog. Like, it's really like, oh, dog, turn around. Like, it. Like, it. Mops are hard. It gets up on rugs and will then switch gears and then clean the, like, vacuum the rug.
B
Whoa. That's cool.
A
Yeah, it's pretty high tech.
B
How often do you have to empty it?
A
It empties itself. It goes back to its little dog.
B
What?
A
That's back to its little dog. It's like refueling, and it, like, does it, like going home, and then it goes back. So it does it all throughout the night.
B
Oh.
A
And to be honest, I don't know about, like, the changing the water. Because that's. That's a mat job. Sure. I love it. I can't even know.
B
That's all right. It's a blue job.
A
And it doesn't seem to be too time consuming because I don't really ever notice him doing it.
B
Yeah. Okay. Well, that's exciting. The Roborock vacuum.
A
They have several, but that's the brand that we have. They have. They have, like, different, varying degrees.
B
Okay, Very cool. My favorite kitchen gadget is the silicone kitchenaid bowl insert that you gave me that your mom got you for Christmas.
A
She got me three, so I gave me one.
B
I love this thing. I'm so glad we take my items out of it.
C
That's what that is.
A
That's what this is. It goes in your stand mixer. Yes.
B
And it's like a cover. So if I make cookie dough. Because a lot of times I'll try chicken and then I'll be like, oh, I have to clean my bowl and then go make my cookie dough. Like it's. It's just an extra step. So this thing, you can just pop out and. Or I'll make my cookie dough in it. And then I pull this out. You store my cookie dough.
A
It has a third one. You want it, the red one.
B
It's so nice. And you could put it in the dishwasher and. Yeah, I don't ever. Like, I can keep my cookie dough in the bowl and still have my stick.
A
And it comes with a lid.
B
It has a lid? Yeah. I love it. I use it all the time. When you gave it to me, I was like, I don't know if I'll use that. I use it weekly.
A
I'm so glad to hear that. Yeah.
B
Great.
A
Thank you, Lori.
B
Thank you, Lori, for your find.
A
My kitchen gadget is my hard boiled egg maker. I mean, I can't stop with that thing. I use it every single morning. I'm eating three hard boiled eggs. Did it today, did it yesterday, I'm doing it tomorrow. I have to think that this thing was made in Korea.
B
They do, like, soft boiled eggs.
A
I feel like they have the gadgets that are just so high tech and smart and, like, cute. Yeah, it's.
B
They do it.
A
My little dash egg maker.
B
I love it.
A
It might be time to replace it. It is breaking, but it still works.
B
I don't think I could tell you the last time I had a hard boiled egg.
C
It's only $20.
A
It's only. It's literally 19.99, I believe.
B
Oh, was that under your best purchase
A
No, I had a different one for that. But let me tell you, I love it. So I guess if you don't care about hard boiled eggs, then forget about this one.
B
Sure. Okay, I will forget about it. Thank you.
A
How do you eat your eggs?
B
Scrambled? Yeah, I do.
A
That's normal. I don't know why I'm like this. Okay, this one is my go to I need to feel like myself again routine I took. I kept it light. My favorite Bondi stands tanning mousse. That'll really lift your spirits. That's good if you need to just be shocked back into reality. Nothing will make me feel hotter. It doesn't even matter if I apply it right. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if it's the right color.
B
Right.
A
It just matters that it's on.
B
Totally.
A
It just matters that I did it.
B
Just get it on your body.
A
That makes me. And it's from Amazon. It's actually a lesser. There's so many different self tanners on the market.
B
They're kind of expensive.
A
This one is not expensive.
B
The Bondi Boost one.
A
It's under $30. Bondi Sands. Bondi Sands. You can also get it at Target, I believe.
B
Okay, well, we need an Aussie to chime in. If it's Bondi or Bondi.
C
It's $33.
A
$33. Okay.
B
Yeah.
C
With a mitt.
A
Oh, with a mitt. I don't even buy it with the mitt.
B
Without the mitt is slather it up.
A
$29.
B
Oh, okay, great deal.
A
It lasts a while too.
B
Yeah, you get a couple tans out of it. Okay then.
A
Okay. I get about 30 tans out. Like it lasts a while.
B
Oh, why do I think a bottle only got with one tan? Did it used to be like that?
A
No, no, you get like 20 to 30.
B
I have been poorly mistaken my entire life.
A
How much are you using?
B
No, I've never used it.
C
Why are all these people self tanning?
B
Yeah, I've never used self tan. I was like, man, that's an expensive bot. A 30 bucks for one tan is like a little.
A
At that point, get a spray tan from an artist.
B
That's why I've been confused my last 15 years.
A
Let me clarify.
B
Probably everyone knew this but me. I've just never self tanned. So I just.
A
Yeah, well, you're tan so well.
B
I tan my face. I'll say that. But you guys don't like the Isle of Paradise drops. I love them.
A
I don't dislike them. I just like using my mousse. Because it matches my body.
B
Your body? Better. Okay, perfect. Our favorite date night activity recently. When I say recently, I mean around Thanksgiving.
A
Caleb, we have not been.
B
We've been on a day in a while. We went to the movies and a good old fashioned movie date night is the best.
A
We do that all the time.
B
It's just so fun. We. We went and saw Wicked too. And Caleb was really excited to see Wicked too, which was kind of sweet. It just is so memorable. We went to dinner before, saw a movie and it was just classic.
A
Get back to the classics.
C
That's why texting Blake. We should go on a movie night.
A
Well, we're even trying to see Project Hail Mary.
B
I wanna. I think Kill would love.
A
I want to see it so bad, but it's just so hard to get it on the calendar and make it happen.
B
I've heard such good reviews on that movie.
A
I read the whole book for the purpose of watching this movie, so. And the book was a lot for me to get through. So. Yes, it was educational.
B
I'm already talking about it.
C
I would watch it, but I just don't think that's like my style of movie. Even though it's like very well done.
B
It seems like a guy movie. But maybe that's why we go for a date.
C
Yeah, exactly.
A
Yes. I like guy movies better actually. Quote unquote, guy movies.
B
Just one of the guys.
A
Not at all. I just don't like necessarily Romance.
B
Totally.
A
I mean, is this even a question? Cheesecake Factory.
B
Our favorite date night.
A
And bonus points if we go to Barnes and Noble afterwards, which we started that tradition. And Matt will take me to Barnes and Noble afterwards and pick out a book for me to read, which a lot of people wouldn't like. I love being. I love assigned reading. And I do read every single one. The one he's get like that I'm reading right now, he gave me and I'm like, Matt crushed. Every time he goes, I just ask the employees what's good.
B
Oh my gosh, that's sweet.
A
So we just go and browse and I pick out a book.
B
That's sweet.
A
It's really a fun time.
B
That is a fun time.
A
And most cheesecake factories are by a Barnes and Noble. Fun fact.
B
I feel like they are like, that's why it works out. Yeah, That's a really fun little date. Go to. Gift for anyone. Do you have one for this?
A
No one's gonna be sad about this. Guys, girls, Everyone wants a new cup.
B
That's a good answer. Put a little swig gift card in there. We're actually doing that for a friend for her birthday.
A
I didn't know you cared about Swig.
B
No, I don't. My friend does.
A
Okay, that's. Yeah, yeah.
B
So we got her a cup and then a little gift card.
A
Sweet.
B
Yeah. So like, if you want to do a little combo thing and you can go.
A
You can never have enough. As much as people want to tell you it's over consumption.
B
It is. You gotta wash them. What do you drink out of when
A
they're in the washing machine? Dishwasher.
B
You gotta rotate them. Suckers. I learned the hard way. Mold. Mold. Okay. My go to gift for anyone is the volcano candle from anthropology.
A
Oh, good one.
B
And if. Even if people don't like to burn candles, they have so many beautiful jars. Yeah. And their canisters are just gorgeous. And they have different sizes, so different price points. But that is a gift that everyone loves.
A
Literally. We got one from our real estate agent. Real estate agent. Realtor.
C
Realtor.
A
Realtor. And we will never burn it because I'm like, this is very special. It's set aside.
B
It is such a special candle. It's such a good gift.
A
Okay, now we're moving on to food and drink category, which is very exciting because I've been eating a lot of food, drinking a lot of drinks. Coffee order. I'm so sorry. This is so basic, but it's just what I like. Okay. Every single morning, I wake up excited about my double shot of espress. Half caf.
B
What's a half caff?
A
It's literally like they put half the beans of caffeinated decaf.
B
Cool. I've never had that.
A
Well. Cause I like two shots, but I don't want to have that much caffeine.
B
Right, you need. Yeah. The depth in your cup of coffee. I need the volume. Right, we need the volume, not the depth.
A
Sugar free vanilla syrup, splash of milk, splash of vanilla creamer. Recently, I've been doing way less milk and creamer. I just really want it to taste like coffee. Coffee and lots of ice. Obscene amount of ice. It's just been so good.
B
Good. See, I'm kind of similar, but I'm a hot coffee girl. And every morning I wake up and I have two shots of espresso lungo.
A
Oh, the long shot.
B
Yeah, the long shot. Is that what it means? I just thought it was longo.
A
Oh, no, I think that's long shot.
B
Yeah.
A
Okay.
B
Sorry. And then whole milk and that's it. And sometimes I like a latte, and sometimes I like a cappuccino.
C
You have no flavor in there.
B
No flavors.
A
Wow. Yeah.
B
I just love the taste of coffee. Sorry. Gen Z. I like it. I know they don't like the taste of coffee. They just love the milk. Do you notice that when you watch these people make their coffees? I'm like, that's a lot. You're just having a glass of milk.
A
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
B
And some caramel in there.
C
And some caramel.
A
Well, okay. My first coffee of the day. I like it to have some flavor. My second coffee, if I have one, I'll just have it.
B
Give it to me straight. This is business. It's not pleasure, right?
A
No, it's pleasure.
B
I know. I love the taste. I love the taste of coffee.
A
This one. Next category is hyper fixation meal. Recently it's just been anything. My husband can grill. I don't want to. I don't want the mess in the house. I'm like, Matt, you just go take that to the grill. I'll prep it and make a couple sides. It just makes my night so much easier.
B
Yeah, we love that. We need the ease. When I was pregnant, I didn't want to touch any meat. So if there was meat in the meal, Caleb had to make it. So I get that.
A
Chicken, salmon, steak. I honestly have brought up the idea of pork chops a couple times. He doesn't seem excited about it, but I would love a pork chop.
B
I'm not thrilled about a pork ch.
C
Have you had a good pork chop?
B
I have, yeah. Oh, I have just personal preference.
A
I like support chop.
B
You know what burnt me out on? Pork was hella fresh. I was like, stop sending me pork.
A
You could probably request that. Not there.
B
I know. I didn't know I could change it.
A
Oh, dang it.
B
Okay. My hyper fixation meal is. This is a breakfast that I've been really into. It's from Trader Joe's. Specifically their Trader Joe's brand Greek yogurt with honey. It's. It's like the creamiest texture. Almost like ice cream. It's so good. And it's one with honey. And then they have this trail mix. It's the almond cashews and chocolate trail mix. And they come in the individual packs. So it's like already pre portioned. You just dump it in there. They're so good. And you top with some strawberries. This is a very sweet, sweet breakfast. And that's how I like it.
A
Great.
B
And I'm full for a long time. Good. It's very satiating. It's so good.
A
Breakfast is the easiest Meal to get hyper fixated on. That was a really good point.
B
If you need to just be easy.
A
Yeah, yeah.
B
Three hard bowl eggs every night.
C
Pancakes every morning. Protein pancakes. Well, right now it's two eggs and two pieces of chicken sausage.
A
Great.
B
When growing up, from sixth grade to senior year of high school, I had two cinnamon eggo waffles. Just slightly. Just slightly toasted.
A
Floppy.
B
Yeah. I needed a floppy so I didn't make a mess. I'm the boss. Wrapped in a paper towel out the door.
C
Yes. Wrapped in a paper towel out the door.
A
Comfort food that never fails. Soft pretzels.
B
Oh, you're right.
A
They're so comfortable. They're so good.
C
Brands that Abby makes.
B
I need to make them again.
C
Please make them.
A
I make them on Sunday.
B
I think we ask every podcast episode
A
like, please make them for Easter. Yeah, sure. Appetizer.
B
Yes. With the cheese dip.
C
You write every single episode. We're like, please make us.
A
Please make the pretzels.
B
I always make a separate pretzel.
A
They never fail. They never.
C
And she does. Yes. Every time.
B
I know you're such a giver.
A
I'll make them such a giver. I love it when people. That's my highest form of love is people requesting specific foods that they know that I make. Yeah, it's very niche, but it really makes me feel loved.
B
Oh, okay. I'll keep saying it then.
A
Please place all requests here. It makes me feel so known.
B
You're a talent. My comfort food is pot roast, which
A
you know, I love.
B
I love pot roast.
A
Can't get better than that.
B
Pot roast or short rib. Bring it on.
A
You make short ribs?
B
No, never have. But I buy it at the store, like restaurants. If I go out, there's. If there's a short rib on the menu, that's what I'm ordering.
A
I made them one time, and it really overwhelmed me. I was like, I can't mess this up. This was so expensive.
B
Yeah, no, I've never. I never made them myself.
A
So much bones.
B
Oh, really?
A
I mean, it's ribs.
B
Sure. I've never actually thought about what it is.
A
It's ribs.
B
Okay.
A
There's a bone in everyone well lot.
B
I'm still gonna eat it.
A
Yeah, they're good.
B
Yeah, they're so good.
A
Sweet treat. How are you gonna say anything other than Trader Joe's ice cream sandwiches?
B
The sublime.
A
Sublime. The sublime variety is so good. Delicious. I can't explain it. If you don't live next to a Trader Joe's. I know your pain. For 23 years of my life. I didn't live next to Trader Joe's,
B
and it's a burden that you just have to carry. But the rest of us can enjoy the.
A
My burden is that they're not on Insta Cart.
B
That is so annoying. But honestly, it is a fun experience.
A
It is such an experience I enjoy. And every time I go, I have to get, like, five boxes of these because I don't know when I'm gonna be back. And I go through them so fast.
B
I know only four in a box is criminal, but it keeps us coming back. My sweet treat is a Rice Krispie. And, you know, I was thinking about this since high school when I started realizing I had free will. I would buy two of the large Rice Krispie treats every day at lunch, and I'd put one in my backpack for later, and one I'd eat at lunch. I was addicted.
A
I loved your eating habit.
B
I have so many I could talk about.
A
No, talk about the hot dog one right now.
B
When I was in middle school, I went through a crazy growth spurt. I ate seven hot dogs with a bun at my friend's pool party, and her parents were stunned. And so I said, were you, like,
C
trying to set a record?
B
No, I was just starving. And I was like, yeah, I'll eat more than the guys. I ate seven hot dogs with buns. And every time I'd go to her house after that, her parents, to buy me my own pack. And I was like, I'm probably not going to eat that many again. I'm done growing. I'm done.
A
I'm just going to have one, please. Just one. Lady, give me seven.
B
Seven.
A
Seven hot dogs, seven buns now. No condiments.
B
No condiments. Just dog and bun.
A
That is absolutely crazy.
B
I thought they were surprised. Like I've ever been. Like, why? We didn't buy enough. You know what I mean? Like, they're probably freaking out.
A
Yeah.
C
You ate everyone.
B
Ate all the dogs.
A
Ate all the dogs.
B
I just ate.
A
Abby's coming. Hurry. Daily now. Abby, you're going last, man. Honestly, that just makes my love for you even deeper.
B
That's so sweet.
A
Okay, we are now rolling into whoever's still here. We still have a lot more. Should we cut this kids and family category? How are you gonna say anything other than Magna Tile?
B
That's right.
A
Kids products Magnetile. That's what I put.
B
Perfect. Enough said.
A
Enough said. You gotta have them go deep with the Magna tiles.
B
I agree. Baby product Newton Baby breathable mattress. Oh, yeah, that's. Give me the most peace of Mind as a mom. Both my babies are, like, face fully in the mattress sleepers, and they can breathe.
A
That's great. I said, the Dreamland sleep sack.
B
Those are great, too.
A
In fact, I had a couple conversations with Augie. Augie is approaching 3, and I'm like, hey, what do you think about not going with a sleep sack tonight?
B
What about a blanket?
A
No. C sack. He loves it. He just feels so safe.
B
Yeah. They should make a transition product, like a blanket or something for older kids.
A
Yeah. I don't know. He loves it so much.
B
Yeah, that's a good idea. Okay. Time buying. Toddler activity.
A
Mine's kind of weird.
B
What is it?
A
I. I think the Amazon kids knives.
B
Oh, the kids knives?
A
Yeah, the kids knives. Any fruit or vegetable that you're going to be using. Anything you need to cut in your recipe that you can safely give to a kid to try to cut with those knives.
B
Yeah.
A
While you're cooking, Arc or say, for instance, I just keep some celery in my fridge forever. If I'm like, I really need to cook, but I can't really give any of these tasks to them because it involves heat or.
B
That's a good idea.
A
Sharp things. I literally just let them sit there and cut celery. They will do it for so long. So diligently cutting celery. Celery. And I think it's great for their motor skills. And those. That knife set is so cheap and we get so much use out of it. Yeah. And it could really. My kids don't color, but they will cut with knives. They will cut. They also like scissors. Those, like kid scissors. So I think that was a good activity, too.
B
That's a great one. Mine is C.J. loves going in the backyard with the hose and washing his cars.
A
That's a good idea.
B
He loves it. And, like, our backyard. Safe. So I could just open up the windows and. And it's all baby proof back there. Turn the hose on. And I don't care if he gets wet. He usually comes back. Not with his clothes on. He's taking him out. He's getting some sun. He's outside getting fresh air, and he's washing all his toys.
A
My kids aren't usually in clothes.
B
Yeah, who needs clothes?
C
I did look up because I was curious about the Dreamland baby. They have one that's for walkers. So you put their feet in it. So, like, Auggie still has one that's, like, full. Yeah. He full.
A
Has a big. He has a whole bag. Trust me. He walks in it. Yeah.
C
But this One has like, oh, wow. Actual. Oh, my God.
A
I need to update. Because, you guys, he can't even fully extend his legs in it. And I'm like, hey, buddy, let's get rid of it. He's like, no. He literally just curls up in it like a little baby.
B
That's sweet.
A
I'm gonna get the Walker one. That's genius.
C
Okay, you're gonna have. They're size 2 and 3.
B
Probably need 3.
A
Dreamland did a April Fool's Day joke last year that I fully fell for.
C
The adult ones.
A
Genius marketing. Except they weren't actually selling it, probably, but it got a lot of attention. They said they're making adult Dreamlands and everyone was so excited, including your girl.
B
And then they didn't get them.
A
They didn't make ad April Fools.
C
Oh.
B
And you're like, wait, wait a minute. I'm actually. I know. Today's the day. Stay off Instagram, please. I can't with all these companies making jokes.
A
Oh, companies are doing it today.
B
I mean, they're always like, we're clos. I remember when we were closing Bolt. This is sad. It was all the. You know, I was like, oh, my gosh, all these small businesses are also closing, right? It was. I felt validating for a second. I'm like, the market's hard. And then it was like, april Fools, we're crushing it. I had to stay offline.
A
Dang it.
B
I.
A
Good for you.
B
Entertainment, media, slash music. What you got? What do you got?
A
Guess. Justin Bieber. Oh, baby, you know
B
I'm not a woman that's switches up her music. Listen. Justin Bieber's been the soundtrack to my life. I was thinking about this. I remember where I was the first time I heard. One time I was at a volleyball tournament and lobby of Incarnate Word high school in St. Louis, Missouri. Changed my life that day. I remember where it was when I first heard.
A
Baby, where were you?
B
I'm sorry. Not baby, sorry. I wrote this down. My world came out when I was eighth grade, freshman year. Soundtracked of my young adult, my young child life, my world. First concert, big concert that I remember going to when I listened to the Believe album. Baby, no, I was. Baby. I was in my kitchen sitting on my parents stools, and Sophie and I were laughing because he kept saying, sweat.
C
Swag.
B
Swag on you. And then I loved the song Purpose came out my freshman year of college. Should I keep going? Changes came out right after we got married.
A
Swag.
B
I was pregnant with Vivian. You know, I just. It's. It's a soundtrack of my life and I'm never gonna
A
stop. That is.
C
Did you have to look back at when those came out or that was just at the top of your brain?
B
No, I did look back to confirm what was at the top of my brain.
C
Okay.
B
Yeah, got so both. Both, yes and wow. Yeah, it's all right.
A
I'm taking a hard right turn because this category was entertainment media Music.
B
Okay. What I just said audible,
A
like the audiobooks. Mine was audible. And so audible is I. I've been going on a lot of walks. I'm on pelvic rest, so I can't work out, so I just go on walks. And I feel like I prefer to read a book. But listening to books, I have started to transition and I like it.
B
You like it?
A
Yeah, I do like it. I've read two books on audio.
B
Every time I've tried to listen to a book, I haven't liked the voice.
A
That's really the same lady does like, basically pretty much all of them. I don't know how she's got the
B
time, but paid probably good amount. Well, that's great, Abby.
A
Sorry, I don't listen.
B
No, that was a good one. No, that was a good one.
A
Okay. Favorite book, slash movie?
B
The Nightingale.
A
Oh, yeah, Yeah, I read that recently.
B
My friend Curly gave me that. Huh.
A
Yeah.
B
That's a gut wrenching book, but it's an incredible read. My friend Curly recommended it and I love it.
A
It's a good one. I just did a recent favorite, which was Broken country. Because I haven't talked about it on this podcast yet, but a lot of people were talking about it. Broken Country. It's like a deeply emotional book. A lot happens. It's not a very long book, but, like, so much happens. And it's one of those. I'm like, I will remember this. It was good one. It was a good one. Yeah.
B
What do you have for movie?
A
I didn't put a movie.
B
Oh, okay.
A
I thought it was book slash movie. What's your movie?
B
She's the Man.
A
Of course.
B
Of course it is.
A
I watched that with you for the first time.
C
You did?
A
Yeah. I think I was postpartum with Griffin.
B
Oh, my gosh.
C
That's a good movie.
B
Such a good movie. When I was pregnant with CJ giving birth, I kept chanting in my head during labor, who's gonna bring that blood and pain? Who's gonna. I couldn't remember where it came from. And then I watched she's the Man. And it's their chant and their soccer. Soccer huddle.
A
I was like, why am I chanting?
B
She's the man pushing.
A
So different.
B
So stupid. I did that.
A
Who is your comfort creator? Abby?
B
Okay.
A
I have two.
B
One for YouTube is Caroline Winkler. I love her YouTube video. She does a lot of interior design and she just bought her and her husband or fiance just got a, like, a really old school, really beautiful apartment and she's been decorating it and it's so fun to watch. She's hilarious. And I just love her videos. She's very creative, very funny, very entertaining. And then on Instagram, Maddie Nelson. I followed her for such a long time, and her family's so sweet. They're in Texas. She has an online clothing boutique. I just love following her.
A
So the only thing I really, like, try to scroll on is YouTube. And this is kind of niche, you guys. But I think she deserves a shout out because I literally go to YouTube shorts every day to catch up on her shorts because she's post like three a day. Her name is Gloria. She does not maybe want all this attention. She just has such a tight. I'm protective of this community.
B
Oh, what is this?
A
No, she's just. She just has. She's a special. She's a special ed teacher, but she also makes content of her, like, making her coffee in the morning and she makes sweet treats. And like, she's just so cute. I think her personality is so cute. Yeah, her name's Gloria. Her tag is like, glowyo.
B
Yo.
A
I always show Matt her videos and I'm like, she's just. When I say think of comfort creator. It's this sweet girl. Oh, she, like, she actually has a ton of. She has a lot of subscribers. She's 53K subscribers. Oh, yeah, she makes. Shoot, she makes shorts. Yeah. Anyway, she makes her coffee and she makes, like, sweet treats. But mostly I just, like, love her personality. Like, sometimes she'll record what she brings for lunch, like, to school where she teaches. And she's on spring break with her mom right now. Like, they went to Denver. She's just really cute. And I just, like, think her personality is just so joyful. And she loves sumo oranges and espresso. She likes her espresso to match the color of her hair. And it's really dark, so she likes it dark. She loves tiramisu. I mean, I just like, love her content. And she's cute.
B
Yeah.
A
And she has two dogs. Cute.
B
I've never heard of her. I wanted to follow her.
A
Gloria. Okay. Shopping favorites slash rapid fire.
B
Okay.
A
I. I feel like my brain just
B
stopped First, I skipped a lot of these.
A
This is probably my most passionate one.
B
Okay, do it.
A
I can make this whole category.
B
Okay. My favorite's fine. Under 20.
A
Favorite find under 20. Go.
B
It's this light. It's the Alex roll.
A
Oh, yeah.
B
This thing is really.
A
That.
B
It just clips onto the back of your phone and it gets really bright. I'm not going to turn it on, but I keep it in my purse. And even if you're just. I feel like when I was in college, I would have loved this because you're always out at night with your friends and you want to get pictures taken, and the lighting is always terrible. And no offense, but the iPhone cameras nowadays are trash. They're really bad.
A
I feel like they've only gotten better. Abby.
B
I just don't like it. I don't like it. And so also, my light sensors are broken, so that's probably why.
A
Okay, well.
B
But I love this light.
A
That's a good one.
B
Yeah. It's like. It ranges from 12 to $30 on Amazon.
A
Mine is the unbrush.
B
I almost brought mine.
A
You.
B
You influenced me.
A
Clean that out. But that brush will really detangle your hair.
B
Yeah.
A
It won't tug on it. You can use it when your hair is wet. Love that thing.
B
It's really good. You influenced me, and I did get that.
A
Thank you. I got it from a My Favorite Things party two years ago.
B
My I buy this over and over item.
A
Gotta be Ilia skin tint.
B
It's so good.
A
I have probably purchased 50 of these. I've used it exclusively. I don't really wear foundation. I just use this because I think it has amazing coverage. It has SPF 40 in it, and it goes on super natural on the skin. You don't really even have to match your skin color. That good. It will blend and it has skin care in it. It's just. It won't clog your pores. It's clean. I. I just.
B
Mine's the same, and I think we actually wear the same color. Number seven, dyes up.
A
No, I wear bonbon.
B
Oh, okay. One time you got Diaz and I
A
was like, too dark for me.
B
It was okay. Then I'll keep using that.
A
I'm forever. Bomb, bomb,
B
bomb.
A
Oh, my gosh. Next. I cheated on this one. It's my favorite thing. I bought this year. I bought it last year. But you know what? I. Gosh. It's my favorite last year and this year, my espresso maker. It was a splurge purchase. I have a Jura espresso maker. And I'm telling you, when I wake up excited every morning. I'm not kidding. I'm so excited. And I'm so excited to make coffee. Coffee for other people, too. It's just. I'm like, you want a coffee? Please, please. No, seriously, let me. Allow me to make you a coffee. And I said when I got that, I was like, I'm not gonna get coffee out. And I don't ever even feel tempted because I actually enjoy my coffee from homework. Love it.
B
I love it. My favorite thing that I bought this year. Linen shorts I bought for Caleb. I'm sorry, but the man's wearing shorts from 2012, so it was time.
A
And underwear. I mean, yeah, all the things.
B
Caleb still wears his Cardinals World series shirt from 2009. It's in great condition. Hang dry.
A
Hang dry.
B
Thank you.
A
Your favorite thing is a thing you bought for your husband.
B
Listen, I'm going off the spot right now.
A
Linen shorts for wear.
B
I bought them yesterday from Old Navy.
C
Yesterday?
A
That was so weird. I get. Remember?
B
I, I. This was one that stumped me because I just started getting back into purchasing things, and there are a lot of things that tickle me because it just feels good to buy things.
A
It's tickling. To buy your husband linen shorts.
B
I got it from Old Navy. I actually bought them Abu Combi once, twice. It's a whole thing. I'm not going to get into it. I love the Abercrombie ones, but I just set them on the Old Navy ones.
A
They're pretty short.
B
No, it's not that. It just. It's a whole thing. Okay.
A
Am I. I'll ask you off, Cam.
B
Yeah.
A
My. If I care to know.
B
Yeah, you can know.
A
It.
B
It just. It doesn't. They don't care. The people don't care.
A
My Go to athletic brand Hokas. Hokas are great.
B
I love Hokas. I also love.
A
Did I mess up by doing shoes?
B
No, that's great.
A
Okay.
B
Mine's at Lululemon. I worked there. I got bought in. And I'll never. I'll never buy out. The quality is unbelievable. I still wear my stuff from high school. You just gotta hang, dry it. Classic quality. It can't be beat. And I always ask for gift cards and things on, like, my birthday and holidays, and it's just like the big. I just love it. It.
A
I love it.
B
I love it.
A
So many competitors out there.
B
I know. And they don't compare.
A
For miscellaneous, I. I said my AirPods, Max, which. This is one of those things where I was like, this Cannot be worth it. Which I actually do feel like you could probably find some good dupes. But it was a gift for Christmas that we got, like partially from my mother, my in laws, partially from my grandma, and we also chipped it, so it was like it was a pot. And I got these headphones and I wear them on my walks and I wear them when I'm doing chores. And I actually really like them, but I also have very particular ears. I don't like earbuds.
B
Sure.
A
But these are for sure the best headphones. I really do think that I've heard good things. Yeah. Yeah, I really like them. I wish I didn't. I do think you could find a dupe, but gosh, they're so.
C
It's.
A
It's a. It's a special gift.
B
Yeah, that's a good one.
A
They get a lot of wear out
B
of my miscellaneous tech is the Wally case. It's a great phone case. Yeah. Put your ID in there, your driver's license, one credit card, and you're out the door. It's perfect.
A
Wow. Are you guys sick of hearing from us? Let's hear from you. Moving on to voicemail. Yay.
B
Ask, ask, ask.
A
Abby.
D
Hey, Abby, it's Paulina. I have a two and a half year old and we just started potty training her and I was wondering if you have any tips or tricks on potty training your boys. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, guys. Bye.
B
Okay, Abby, take it away.
A
I have the worst advice, but I think it's the best advice.
B
Let's hear it.
A
Just wait until they are literally ready. And I know that people think this is a big scheme by the diaper companies, but literally our experience, maybe we just got lucky. I will say that was so seamless with my oldest. I literally was one day like, hey, do you want to wear underwear and go to the bathroom on the toilet instead? He was like, yeah, so we did. I will say going like a day. If you, if you stay home with them, go a day where they're just naked. Because sometimes they're just so used to just doing it whenever they have to go. Like, they need to feel like, oh, there's like, they can start and then be like, oh, nope, this isn't. This isn't the same. And then literally he just started using the toilet because I. But I also waited until he was three. And I do think that the thought of doing it with my two and a half year old, he's getting close, but I'm still like, he just needs to wait Till he's three. Yeah, but every kid is different. I don't think it needs to be this big, stressful thing, is all I'm saying. Like, I'm like, you can wait, Diapers are great and work fine, and then just start the conversation a lot. Like, even with Augie now, when I change his diaper all the time, I'm like, you know, one day we're gonna get rid of these diapers. You're gonna wear underwear, pick out really fun underwear for them. Like, he. Like, we talk about what kind of underwear he'd want to wear, what he wants on them, and we just, like, talk about it a lot, and then, yeah, just wait. Just push it off. But that's also just maybe if you're. If you have a special reason, like, preschools, like, they do require that in certain daycares. Yeah. I would just say stay home for, like, plan to stay home for, like, three days and just leave them naked. And then every time. And also be very kind when there's an accident. I feel like this goes without saying, but there's, like, a whole category of trauma related to body training for people and specifically, like, bedwetting. But, like, every time someone has an accident, now that I've been peeing my pants, I bring it up all the time with the kids, and they're like, everyone makes mistakes. We're still learning. We say that all the time. Like, with. If we have an accident, we're like, oh, everyone makes mistakes. We're still learning. And so just, like, be very, like, to get mad at your kid for that seems really.
B
Yeah.
A
Crazy. But just talk about it in a really positive way. Positive, calm way. No big deal.
B
Yeah, love that. It's great advice.
D
Hi, my name is Emily, and I absolutely love her podcast. I listen to it every week and just look forward to some awesome girl time with lots of laughs. My question for you guys is, how do you deal with comparison or envy when it comes to your friendships with other women? Thanks so much.
B
It's a great question. Thanks for listening, Emily. It's really sweet. I. I actually feel like that my biggest issue with comparison is, like, isn't to myself, which is kind of like, I look back at pictures from the past, and they'll make me sad. Like, oh, I looked so. You know, so many things were going on then, like, how fun we were having. Like, I like myself to myself is sometimes harder. I remember distinctly when I had my clothing business, there was one girl in particular that we had started at the same time. We were like, I Just felt like I was in competition with her because we were around the same time, sold a lot of the same things. And I remember feeling really bitter sometimes about her success because I know she was. She had like, really great months that she would talk about and I'd be struggling at different times. And I remember just really feeling like, hey, I have to pray for that girl. Like, instead of being jealous and feeling that am I, I started to pray for her success. And that was kind of like a switch in my heart that I needed of, like, it's not actually. We're not in competition. I actually can hope for her best. And that's good. Like, there's enough room for all of us. And I feel like it kind of took the attention away from the feelings of bitterness and jealousy and envy. And I didn't switch to, like, I actually want the best for. For her.
A
So that's good advice.
B
Yeah, that's all I got.
C
Honestly, I think she was also mentioning specifically in, like, friendships.
B
Oh, I guess the mindset, like, I think we could look at our friendship and be like, well, we're in similar fields of work, like in different levels of success. And I would say I've never felt like, jealous or anything. I think I've always just been, like, really proud of you. So with your friends, it's. I think it's taking the mindset of like, oh, look how much they have, or what they've done. And I don't have that. I think it's more so just being like, wow, like, that's amazing that you've accomplished that and use that more of try to reframe your mind and turn that into motivation and like, excitement for your friend. Then maybe like, oh, I'm not good enough, or, you know, instead of turning it into a negative for yourself, you can just be happy for your other people.
A
Yeah, that's great.
D
Hi, girls. A fellow Midwesterner here. I'm calling just to ask about how have you girls, I know you have some in laws or family, close family members who live outside of the city state. How do you guys have your kids keep up with them? What are some fun ways that you include in laws or parents that might live out of state just in your kids life, Whether that be, you know, FaceTimes or other creative ways to include them just in your kids life? Thanks so much. Bye.
B
That's a good one.
A
I think FaceTime is obviously great. It's easy to fall out of that routine. I feel like sometimes like having a set time for that is probably the Best way to do it. Yeah, that's kind of a basic one. I think there's a lot of really cute ways that, like, we, like, we for them, give them, like, the digital picture frames. And I feel like they just get sent straight to their frame so they can see videos and pictures of the kids, like, in real time, like, sending pictures a lot. Also, we should do this. There's books where you can record the grandparent reading a book. So then every night you could just play the audiobook. Like, they can push the button and it's them reading that page. And I think that's a great way to include them. You can also do, like, yodo characters, like, or yodo cards, like, of the grandparents reading one. But I also think just including them in everyday conversations. Like, we talk all the time about them. Like, we're like grandma and Papa. And like, at night we always say, like, what we're grateful for. And, like, we just bring them up a lot, like our whole family. And so it's just like a part of our conversation all the time. And that's like, that's something you as the parent can do. Like, a lot with the kids is like. So then when they see them, it's like they're picking right back up. We talk about things that we've done together, like, oh, remember that time that we went like. And we just explain things like grandma and papa's house and talk about it a lot.
B
Yeah, it's really good. Totally. I have nothing to add. I feel like that's great.

B
Yeah, I can just say a quick one. Mine's the Jennifer Aniston salad. It doesn't have meat in it, so it keeps really good. You can add, like, rotisserie chicken. It's a quinoa salad. It has veggies. It takes no time to prepare, and it's just a really good, like, lunch or side option. My friend Kendall got me onto it, and I've had it a lot in the last three years. It's just a go to go with chips. It's good.
A
I forgot what my recipe is. Now I remember it. This is specific if you have a bread maker, but I have a like honey wheat bread recipe. You literally throw all the ingredients in order. It's very important that you put them in order in your bread maker. And then you literally just set the bread maker on. It'll mix, knead, let it rise and bake it all in there. And it's this honey meat bread and it's delicious. And I've made it since Matt and I got before we got married.
B
So I remember you making that in your first apartment.
A
It's filling bread and put some peanut butter on it. Oh gosh. Glass of milk. It's delicious. Yum.

This episode is a laughter-filled deep dive into mom life, with sisters-in-law Abby and Abby Howard tackling two major lists: the Most Overhyped Mom (and lifestyle) Products and their own Current Favorite Things. Mixing real-life stories, candid opinions, and a heap of pop culture references, the Abbys reflect on the products, routines, and simple pleasures that make their lives easier—or just drive them nuts.
The episode highlights the blend of the “hard and the hope” in motherhood, with a strong dose of humor and relatability. Listeners submitted their own thoughts on overhyped products, which the Abbys then debated or doubled down on. Throughout, the podcast stays true to its mission of keeping things honest, funny, and heartfelt.

This episode is a quintessential slice of millennial mom life: honest about exhaustion and self-doubt, obsessed with both the practical and the aesthetic, and always ready to laugh at themselves. From commiserating over overhyped products (Dyson Airwrap, anyone?), to raving about life-changing gadgets (shoutout to the Roborock and Dash egg maker), Abby and Abby’s realness, chemistry, and community shine through. Their nuanced take on friendship, comparison, and daily routines is both heartening and hilarious: as always, they’re “Always Here” – for the hope, the hard, and plenty of humor.
