Amy Robach
Hey there folks. It is Wednesday, August 13. It has been a little over a week now since we heard about that Montauk mystery mystery, but we still don't know if it's a murder mystery. As the questions continue to pile up and answers robes are few and far between. Welcome everybody to this episode of Amy and tj. We should say off the bat, look, there's, there are so few official answers robes that there's so much speculation and kind of salacious headlines out there that we are absolutely going to stay away from. But there's very little officially coming from authorities on this.
TJ Holmes
I think it's fair to say that the mystery has deepened because when authorities don't come out and say anything publicly and yes, it's been a week and a day actually since she passed and the fact that there is still no determined cause of death, they haven't ruled out foul play. What happens is everyone else starts filling the void. When you have a vacuum of information, people just start putting things together that may or may not be true. And that's the hard part. When you have this death, this highly unusual death in a part of the world where it doesn't typically happen. Add to the fact that she's beautiful, she was in the fashion industry. She was found on a yacht away from her boyfriend reportedly. It's creates all of these rumors and it's sad because there is already this tragedy and I feel for her family as people speculate almost for sport about what may have happened to her, what that must do to their mourning.
Amy Robach
You know, I didn't realize you just told me this before we started recording. You said, wow, people are mean. Some of the comments here, like what are they? Why are you going after the girl that's dead? And I didn't put it together until you said it, but there's a lot of that folks floating around. Please try to stay away from it and please don't participate in it because this is a young woman who died far too soon. 33 years old. And a reminder who this is. Martha. Martha Nolan Osladara, fashioned as designer, lives in New York, but from Ireland originally but found overnight Monday into Tuesday, right on a. On a yacht. Found unconscious, non responsive but I guess then robes. They told us of course there was no evidence of any violence to her body. But then some of the details were being reported about witnesses and what they saw and heard that night.
TJ Holmes
Yes. So some, they're being called good Samaritans, but. But folks nearby on a boat there in the marina said that they heard yelling. They saw a man. There are reports about what that man may or may not have been Wearing, saying, basically asking for help, throwing sunscreen or throwing other items onto boats to try and wake people up. Because this was around, yes, midnight Tuesday morning early. And when one of those Good Samaritans called 911, they said they were trying to perform CPR on her, but it was far too late at that point, by the time paramedics arrived on the scene.
Amy Robach
So. And again, reminder, folks, of where we're talking about. This is one of the most exclusive areas of all the Northeast, fair to say. But this is Montauk at the very, very tip of Long island, essentially the very tip of the United States to a certain degree. But you, you hear about the Hamptons all the time, people going to the Hamptons. Well, this is a part of the Hamptons at the Far east end. Right there at the tip. You could be standing on the tip of Montauk and have pretty much ocean almost surrounding you because of where you are. It's a beautiful area, exclusive, celebrity, written, but very much family centered. And it's a surfer town as well. It really is a cool spot.
TJ Holmes
Yeah. And we've talked about this last week when this news came. We had been in Montauk for that entire week when this mystery death occurred. And so it certainly was the talk of the town, the talk of the Hamptons and the talk of Montauk. And there was real concern that there could be a murderer on the loose. And that has not been ruled out. And because police haven't said much and they haven't given any actual information about what happened to her, how it happened to her, people, again, just start talking. And these rumors can be vicious and they can be false and they can be misleading.
Amy Robach
But the latest we can give you. But there hasn't been a whole lot. But we did get word, at least from her family, there was a death announcement. We'll share with you here in just a moment. But the official death announcement that was posted said that funeral arrangements are set to be announced this week. We did hear from our business partner. We'll share what he wrote as well, the details about the boyfriend. We will tell you who he is. And we can get that information from her actual information social media pages. So we do know this isn't speculation. This is someone she was dating. Also, just a reminder here, folks, we talk about the cause of death. Robes. Yes, they said no evidence of violence to her body. So we must wait now. But these toxicology reports can take months.
TJ Holmes
Yes, it could take up to three months. Several outlets are reporting. But then you can read from other outlets saying that because of the extensive public interest in this story and the concern that perhaps for folks who live or vacation in that area that there could be if there were foul play, that would be of very important information for folks who live and are around that area. So they say it could be expedited. Could some people are even reporting that those reports could come out this week or within the next couple of weeks. It does take time though, and we've seen that before in previous cases. Regardless of just how public this story is or the level of interest in this story or even the concern among folks in the community, sometimes it just takes the time that it takes period.
Amy Robach
Even I think it can't we remember even celebrity cases, very high profile cases, we don't find out for quite some time when that what exactly happened to folks. But the death announcement here and robes that the official one that was posted in Ireland where she's from, recognized her as being from two places, from Ireland and from the Upper east side in Manhattan, New York. But it starts out that she passed away unexpectedly on August 5, 2025, beloved daughter of Elma, much loved sister of Jackie, treasured granddaughter of Betty and Liam, cherished niece of John, Michelle, Barry and Mona, and adored partner of Nick.
TJ Holmes
Exactly.
Amy Robach
So they actually and I didn't get to catch this earlier, but they actually in the death announcement are acknowledging her.
TJ Holmes
Boyfriend and some of the reports they say that this was a serious relationship. He had gone with her to Ireland over the Christmas holidays and her family and friends were expecting an engagement announcement soon. She had just recently we're not sure if she had her divorce had been finalized, but we do know she was in the process of being divorced or having been divorced through the spring. So this was her boyfriend. If you look on her TikTok account, you can see him all throughout there. So they were search certainly a couple and he is not commenting right now, I'm sure I can't imagine what he's going through right now. And to have it be so publicly discussed has to just be an added layer of trauma and discomfort in an already difficult time.
Amy Robach
And I think we do know he was not with her that evening. So obviously so many times people immediately want to speculate, speculate about the person that she might have been dating. So I mean but consider she has an ex husband in the making and she has a current boyfriend. Those are two people you'd start looking at. One of them is thousands of miles away in Ireland and the other is not with her at all. So that kind of is part of the mystery, eliminates what so many people would be left to speculate about.
TJ Holmes
That's correct. And so a lot of folks are speculating about who the owner of that boat was, who she may have been on that boat with earlier in the day. We certainly heard from folks in the area who gave reports to a local news outlet there in Long island that she was with a man and they had been seemingly having a great time on the boat that day, went, took another boat out into the ocean, came back and then continued to party that evening on another boat, which. The name was Ripple. Correct.
Amy Robach
Ripple is the name of the boat. There are some images out there of it. Well, but she was by all reports, and again, first hand accounts at least given to the local papers there in the area where. Yeah, they were having a night, they'd seen her come and go and seem to be having a good time. And they didn't report at all any issues or anything, looking out of place until things were. And until she apparently was already unconscious. And this guy was trying to get help. How do you make sense of somebody's with her, he's running frantically trying to get help. What that could, what that could mean? He couldn't find a cell phone. Did he not Want to call 911? What was going on?
TJ Holmes
And police, really, this is what I, I know what deepens the mystery and creates the speculation is that police in any official capacity have not mentioned the owner of this boat. They haven't mentioned this man who reportedly was with her. And they haven't acknowledged any of the reports of the state this man was in while he was trying to get help from other people nearby to potentially revive Martha who was with him.
Amy Robach
But they also say they're not looking for anybody. They haven't said that once about this case. Look, I know they need to keep things close to the, close to the vest. A lot of time that's fine. But we were there in the, the day and in the following days when this was happening. And everywhere you went, people were buzzing about this thing and there are kids running up and down the street. Look, I'm not suggesting. And there, nobody's suggesting that there's an axe murderer out there running around in Montauk. But when you don't know what's happening, what is out there, there are so few answers. We, yeah, I think we told the story last week. We were just standing around in our little group. A guy we thought was out of earshot of us just heard us say something and he immediately came over and jumped into the conversation.
TJ Holmes
Yes, this was certainly the talk of the town. And it's going to continue to be until police actually decide to give the public some very specific information. And in the meantime, like I said, people are filling the void. They're making all sorts of connections that may or may not be true about the owner of the boat, about why Martha might have been on that boat and what her friends are saying, what they've told her, whether or not there are reports that she had a very a conversation with her boyfriend supposedly within an hour or a couple minutes before that 911 call was made. So there are just all sorts of varying reports that no one can actually put any truth to.
Amy Robach
But we did hear from at least one of her friends, a business partner who did write a short, sweet, loving tribute to his friend, who he says he laughed harder with than anybody could ever understand.
TJ Holmes
Before we go to break, I have to tell you about new leggings I've been living in lately. They're from this brand called Tona. And fun fact here, they were actually designed by the same visionary behind Lululemon. So from that alone, you already know they're going to be pretty good. These leggings feel like a second skin. They're super flattering, super comfortable, and somehow still supportive. I've been wearing them on my morning runs and they've quickly become my everyday lounging leggings too. And here's what makes them even better. Every pair you buy helps fund a mental health counseling session for a teen in need. Tona's on a mission to end teen suicide and self harm, which we think is so important and incredible. So we've partnered with Tona to give you 20% off your order and free shipping. Welcome back to this edition of Amy and TJ and we are talking about the tragic death, the Montauk mystery, really that still is hanging over a big cloud over the Montauk and the Hamptons area. And certainly to the families of Martha Nolan who want to know what happened to this bright 33 year old who had a booming fashion design company. She had just posted recently that she was excited. It was a dream come true that her bikini line was finally being featured at a pop up store at a popular Hamptons resort, Gurney's there in Montauk. So it seemed like everything was going her way. She had posted about her boyfriend, there was hope about potentially the two of them getting engaged and getting married. There just was a big bright future for this young woman and to have her life cut so short on this yacht mysteriously at this very tony, expensive yacht club in Montauk. It just is troubling and head scratching for so many folks who are trying to figure out what happened to Martha Nolan. What we did get word from her business partner. His name is Dylan Grace, and he posted a beautiful tribute to Martha upon the news of her death. He wrote, we dreamed big together, laughed harder than anyone else could understand, and built so much from nothing. I'm truly blessed and grateful to have had you in my life. Love you so much, Mar. Fly High girl.
Amy Robach
I mean, it's. You can't imagine. Look, she has a friend group that she built up here, but like the death announcement said, it did acknowledge the people she will be missed by and it said her extended family, relatives and her large circle of friends in Ireland and the us but to have such a. It's a sudden death and the circumstances make it almost shocking. This stuff just doesn't happen in Montauk. Mysteries like this don't happen necessarily in Montauk, but we don't know if it's a murder mystery or not. We don't have any reason to believe it. Right.
TJ Holmes
There's no reason other than to. Notably, the police have not ruled out foul play. They have said that the initial autopsy did not show any signs of violence, but at the same time, they have not ruled out foul play. And that is an important distinction because once they do that, then, yes, it can just be about perhaps what happened, how a warning, perhaps to other folks about what she could have done differently. But certainly until they rule out foul play, speculation will continue.
Amy Robach
And I keep saying we don't know if it's a mystery, don't know if it's a murder mystery, but there's negligence involved. It doesn't have to be a murder necessarily. Did she get the help she needed with somebody nearby and saw her in distress and still didn't call 91 1? Right. Because the 9 1. Why wouldn't the 911 call come in from the person who's right next to her?
TJ Holmes
That's where a lot of folks are questioning.
Amy Robach
That's a fair question.
TJ Holmes
What could have happened? Also, we all know that criminal charges are filed against folks who provide certain substances that lead to a death. So we don't know if that could possibly be a part of this investigation as well.
Amy Robach
That's key. Why? If I am next to you, if you are aware enough that I'm in trouble that you go running for help, why isn't your first thought huh.
TJ Holmes
To pick up your phone and call 91 1. Why isn't your first thought to start performing CPR on the person next to you who is clearly in distress? Those are really important and fair questions.
Amy Robach
Oh, my goodness. But this, like you said, Rose, the more days go by, the more this mystery will deepen. We will keep an eye on it. It's still very much being talked about. I don't know, frankly, how in other parts of the country, but here, certainly in this area, for good reason, it certainly stays in the headlines.
TJ Holmes
It certainly does. You know, and it is sad. I do love that they put that she was both from Ireland and from the Upper east side because I was. I was going through her TikTok. It always just makes it so much more personal. She's alive and she's real, and she's not just this headline. She's not just this. This name or this body that was found. She was a real human who had hopes and dreams. And in some of these tiktoks that she put up, she said New Yorker nowhere. And she had songs just celebrating. She was so happy to be here in this country, to be pursuing her dream. And she was starting off. For anyone who's in a period of transition from relationships knows that it's kind of a new start, a fresh start. So it seemed to if her life was coming back together, not that it ever fell apart, but things were coming together. And that's just. It's. It's sad when anyone's life is cut short, but certainly when you see somebody who's been through some stuff and has been building herself back up and as her business partner Dylan said, started from nothing, from zero, and built this business up to the point where she was being featured at a very expensive and well regarded resort in Montauk, that's a big deal. So it's just incredibly sad and tragic that this happened. And we hope we can get some answers. I know her family and certainly her boyfriend and those who loved her are knocking down the doors, I'm sure, of police departments asking and begging for answers about what may have happened to Martha Nolan.
Amy Robach

Podcast Summary: Amy Robach & T.J. Holmes Present – "Mystery in Montauk: The Latest on the Death Of Martha Nolan-O’Slattara"
Introduction In the August 13, 2025 episode of Amy Robach & T.J. Holmes Present, hosted by iHeartPodcasts, Amy Robach and TJ Holmes delve into the perplexing and tragic case of Martha Nolan-O’Slattara, a 33-year-old fashion designer whose sudden death in Montauk has left the community and her loved ones searching for answers. This detailed summary captures the key discussions, insights, and conclusions from the episode, providing a comprehensive overview for those unfamiliar with the full broadcast.
Background: Who Was Martha Nolan-O’Slattara? Martha Nolan-O’Slattara was a rising star in the fashion industry, known for her innovative designs and successful bikini line featured at the prestigious Gurney’s resort in Montauk. Originally from Ireland, Martha had established a significant presence in New York’s Upper East Side. Her vibrant personality and dedication to her craft had earned her a loyal following both professionally and personally.
Circumstances of Death On the night of August 5, 2025, Martha was found unconscious and non-responsive on a yacht in the exclusive Montauk marina. Preliminary reports from authorities indicated no signs of violence on her body, raising immediate questions about the cause of her sudden demise.
Official Statements and Family Announcements Amy Robach highlighted that the official death announcement from Martha’s family noted her untimely passing and included heartfelt acknowledgments:
[08:17] Amy Robach: "She passed away unexpectedly on August 5, 2025, beloved daughter of Elma, much loved sister of Jackie, treasured granddaughter of Betty and Liam, cherished niece of John, Michelle, Barry and Mona, and adored partner of Nick."
The announcement stated that funeral arrangements would be made public within the week. Despite the emotional tribute, concrete details about the cause of death remained scarce, leaving the investigation in its early stages.
Speculations and Rumors T.J. Holmes expressed concern over the lack of official information, which has created a vacuum filled by speculation and rumors:
[03:03] TJ Holmes: "When you have this death, this highly unusual death in a part of the world where it doesn't typically happen...it creates all of these rumors and it's sad because there is already this tragedy and I feel for her family as people speculate almost for sport about what may have happened to her."
Key points of speculation include the presence of a man on the yacht, rumored to be involved in the events leading to Martha’s death. Witnesses reported hearing yelling and seeing a man attempting to wake Martha by throwing sunscreen and other items onto nearby boats. However, authorities have not officially identified this individual or provided details about his involvement.
Impact on Community and Family The mysterious nature of Martha’s death has deeply affected the Montauk community, traditionally known as a safe and family-centered area. The lack of clarity has led to widespread concern and anxiety among residents and visitors alike. Martha’s boyfriend, Nick, who was not present on the yacht at the time of her death, has been notably silent, adding another layer of complexity to the situation.
Tributes and Personal Reflections Martha’s business partner, Dylan Grace, shared a poignant tribute that underscored the personal loss felt by those close to her:
[13:33] Dylan Grace: "We dreamed big together, laughed harder than anyone else could understand, and built so much from nothing. I'm truly blessed and grateful to have had you in my life. Love you so much, Mar. Fly High girl."
This heartfelt message emphasizes Martha’s impact both personally and professionally, highlighting the abrupt end to what seemed to be a promising and fulfilling career.
Current Status and Next Steps The episode discussed the anticipated timeline for toxicology reports, which are crucial for determining the cause of Martha’s death. While standard procedures suggest these reports could take up to three months, some outlets speculate an expedited process due to the high public interest:
[07:30] TJ Holmes: "It could take up to three months. Several outlets are reporting... some people are even reporting that those reports could come out this week or within the next couple of weeks."
Authorities have maintained that they have not ruled out foul play, keeping the investigation open to various possibilities. This ongoing uncertainty continues to fuel public speculation and media coverage.
Key Questions Raised Throughout the discussion, Robach and Holmes raised critical questions about the circumstances of Martha’s death:
These questions remain unanswered, underscoring the need for a thorough and transparent investigation.
