Get yours before they sell out@ticketmaster.com. Hey there, folks. It is Wednesday, February 25, and and Bill Gates has changed his tune. He's going from saying these claims are absolutely absurd and completely false to now saying, I'm sorry and yes, I had affairs with two Russian women. And with that, welcome to this episode of Amy and TJ Roach. People want accountability. They want big names to fall. Well, he hasn't completely fallen, but Bill Gates is now saying I am sorry and admitting to some things he has been accused of at least tied to Epstein.
Amy Robach
Yeah, this is a big deal. And this is exactly what folks have been clamoring for, from the victims to just the general American public wanting to see the rich and powerful who were associated with Jeffrey Epstein take some accountability for their actions and not just deny. This latest Epstein dump that the doj. What was this around Valentine's Day? It has. We have said this. It's a house of cards. It's been dominoes. I mean, we have just seen people falling left and right because emails and documents have exposed folks who were able to deny before without any absolute proof that they did or said some of the things that were suggested. Well, now you kind of can't deny some of the stuff we were seeing straight from Jeffrey Epstein's estate.
TJ Holmes
And we should make sure we start with Bill Gates has not been accused of any criminal wrongdoing. And he did make that clear. In this latest update, which came to us, Robes, from an exclusive report from the Wall Street Journal, which has gotten a hold of, I guess the transcript or the audio, I think David said, of a town hall that Bill Gates had with staff on the west coast this week. And in that town hall, he did apologize for his relationship and admitted to at least two affairs. Ropes A. Let's keep in mind who this guy is. He has for decades now been one of the most influential businessmen in the world.
Amy Robach
Most influential businessmen, and then took and used some of that power, it seemed, for good. He is one of the largest philanthropists in the world, has saved countless lives through some of the research that the Gates, the Melinda and Bill Gates foundation has created. So he has done a lot of good in the world. And that's all important because his reputation, reputation is important. He needs to. Even though he might be a billionaire and one of the richest men in the world, he still requires donations and support financially. And he needs people who have deep pockets to trust him and his organization to continue to do the good work he wants to do. This Epstein smear and these rumors and even what Melinda Gates added to all of this a few weeks ago absolutely is bringing down his entire organization. And he knows it.
TJ Holmes
Robes, he acknowledged at least this town hall is exactly what you're talking about. The idea that, yeah, when people give money, they have a choice. They're choosing to give it to us. They could choose to give it somewhere else. Do you feel good today about handing money over to the Gates Foundation? Look, and that has to be remembered, Robes, in this whole story, this foundation has saved lives all over the world and this work has been going on for a while.
Amy Robach
Yes, he has been looking for that cure to malaria. I mean, he has done incredible work around the globe and wants to continue to do so. But when you lose, we've seen this. When you are attached to Jeffrey Epstein, you can deny, deny, deny, and perhaps that might save you some time or buy you some time, but with these emails coming out, these documents coming out, there are just now smoking guns that weren't there before. And now folks are flying, forced to actually admit what their ties to Jeffrey Epstein specifically were, what they did wrong. And you did point this out. He, and this is a quote from Bill Gates and we just want to make sure we're on the record with this. He said, I did nothing illicit, I saw nothing illicit. To be clear, I never spent any time with victims, the women around him. Now in this latest document dump, there was a couple of pictures of him with women and their faces were blurred, redacted.
TJ Holmes
We don't know who they are, we don't know what their ages were. We don't know exactly where they were and what orbit they were in. We don't know. But that's key. He, he's flat out saying I ain't do nothing, I ain't seen nothing. That's another way to put that. That's what he's saying. I did nothing and I saw nothing. Fine. And he made points about as we get into some more of the quotes and things he said directly to his staff. The other thing he did admit, I went here, here, here, here and here with Jeffrey Epstein. But he also made sure he said I never spent any time on the island or anywhere overnight.
Amy Robach
Yes, he did make that point to say nowhere overnight. And I think he did say that those pictures specifically, did he reference that they were assistants of Jeffrey Epstein who posed with him, who thought it was cool, cool to get a picture with Bill Gates that they were not the victims who have been named in. But you know, we don't know we have to take his word for that at least.
TJ Holmes
But Rose, this does come. I mean timing is relevant here. Look, his name has been attached to Epstein for years and years out there, but this is the first time robes he has admitted something. I guess I'm saying and saying I'm sorry necessarily for this. He had to have been pushed by this latest Epstein batch of documents, which also can't came with some quotes from his ex wife. He was for a few days there the focus of a lot of Epstein coverage.
Amy Robach
Yes. To remind everyone we can make it pretty quick, a couple of emails that were in Jeffrey Epstein's draft box. We don't know if he ever sent them, but they were labeled to Bill and certainly to the foundation. One seemed like a resignation letter from his foundation and the other one was he was just pretty pissed off at Bill Gates and Was basically like, after all I've done for you, you're now going to turn your back on me. And then he started listing what he says he did for Bill Gates, including getting him antibiotics to deal with an STD that he may have inadvertently given Melinda Gates. He was going to, according to Epstein, slip it somehow in her drink or food so that he could try to protect her from this STD he got from, from. From Russian women. So, yes, we actually, I think, have the actual line here from the second email to add insult to the injury, you then implore me to please delete the emails regarding your std, your request that I provide you antibiotics that you can surreptitiously give to Melinda, and the description of your penis.
TJ Holmes
That's a damning line. Again, this was written by Jeffrey Epstein to himself. Jeffrey Epstein, in a draft, she, you. You can't think for a moment that he was planning for that to go public. Now, you can make the argument that this was part of a. He was trying to scheme and he was making up lies to be sent. But this is a guy years ago who was not thinking this was going to become public. It's hard to think he was. This was part of some setup at the time to go public.
Amy Robach
Yeah, that's why it was so believable and credible, because this wasn't something Jeffrey Epstein ever, ever intended for other people to see. So it did make it seem very believable and to the point where Melinda actually did speak out. And so, yes, now we are finally hearing Bill Gates admit something that we haven't heard him admit before, specifically.
TJ Holmes
And as we hear this admission, the other part of that batch of emails that's relevant to us now, getting to what he said this week to his staff, again from Jeffrey Epstein in his draft, saying, quote, from helping build get drugs in order to deal with consequences of sexual sex with Russian girls to facilitating his illicit trist with married women. Now, the Russian girls part is relevant now, I suppose, robes because of what he did admit to his staff.
Amy Robach
Yes, he admitted to having two affairs and he did mention that both of the women were Russian. But he also wanted us to know they were, they were smart. He gave us what they did for a living so as to think. I guess we. I'm guessing he wanted people to know that they weren't young girls, although one of them was reportedly in her 20s. That's still different. Young can mean a lot of things when you're talking about Jeffrey Epstein. So I think he wanted to make sure people knew these weren't actually underage women.
TJ Holmes
Do I have it right? Robes. This was a. The town hall. They were able to submit questions. Yes, he was answering questions, so I assume, I don't know if it was happening live, he was seeing the questions for the first time or he was able to actually choose. You know, we've been to a lot of these events and those, those questions, you can submit as many as you want, but they end up being curated in some way by someone before it makes it to the CEO. So I don't know if he knew this question was coming and he had an answer prepared and even chose to
Amy Robach
do this, I would think that he would have to have known this was coming and this was a way for him to look transparent, but also prepare. And so my guess is he knew these were coming and he chose to answer them because he, he, this is what he said. I did have affairs. One with a Russian bridge player who met me at bridge events and one with a Russian nuclear physicist who I met through business activity. So again, he, he wanted us to know they were Russian and they were smart. And I, I do think that had to have been to try and pacify any suggestion that it was someone who was inappropriately young.
TJ Holmes
But it just so happened Bill Epstein mentions Russian girls and sure enough, apparently. And what is it? He has a type, I suppose, yes. Russian, who knew? But. Yes, but why would he. This is the other thing. Why would he. People are going to be able to track these women down pretty quickly, are they not? If they're not already out there. You said there was a 20 year old that was.
Amy Robach
Yes. Connected to the time. And they're, they're. One of the women, we won't say her name, but her name is out there because she also at one point did work for Bill Gates and work.
TJ Holmes
That's the physicists, right?
Amy Robach
Yes. And so they haven't said the timing as to when the affair happened, if it was while she worked with Bill Gates, if she came after she had the.
TJ Holmes
Wait, was she the young, the 20 something.
Amy Robach
Well, I believe. I'm trying. I don't know the one who said. Okay, so the Russian bridge player was in her 20s when he worked with her. No. So the nuclear physicist, the one who he worked with at some point, I don't know her age, but the bridge player was in her 20s and apparently Epstein met her a few years later and paid for her to go to coding school. And then later Epstein came back and asked Bill Gates to reimburse him for paying for her coding school. So you just can see how enmeshed they were in these salacious affairs.
TJ Holmes
What did you make of as well? He chose to mention his ex wife in this town hall meeting. What did you make? Certainly didn't have to do that, but did so in a way in which he was actually praising her, if you will.
Amy Robach
Yeah. You know what? I think part of it might be guilt because he knows what publicly he has done to her and to. Frankly, a lot of the people who he work. Works with and people who work for him are all impacted by these decisions he made. And I think he might feel a little guilty. I think he probably feels pretty crummy that she's now threatened, thrust into this spotlight which she never wanted to be in. And maybe he just really did want to give her credit. Give credit where credit was due. He said to give her credit. Speaking of Melinda, she was always kind of skeptical about the Epstein thing and look, why wouldn't she be? He admits in this town hall that he didn't even become friends with Epstein until 2011. That's significant.
TJ Holmes
Which was three years after he had been convicted of sex crimes having to do with underage girls.
Amy Robach
It was known.
TJ Holmes
It was. It was known. Now I have a hard time understanding that Bill Gates didn't know. He said he should have done more background on him. I have a very hard time believing that.
Amy Robach
I'm sorry, someone who makes it to the level that Bill Gates does and is one of the most. I mean, obviously he's brilliant from a scientific standpoint, but he's a brilliant businessman too. You're telling me he didn't or didn't have anyone else check Epstein's background? He actually claimed that because of the people who surrounded Epstein, he was lured into believing that he was a safe space. And interestingly enough, it's people like Bill Gates himself who made those girls feel like they could have no voice because he was surrounded by the most powerful people in the world. So every powerful person who chose to stand by him or with him contributed to this image of power that. That created so much of the suffering.
TJ Holmes
And they divorced, what, 20, 21, after 27 years of marriage or robes at the time, affairs. And think, was it part of the story then in the divorce or. It came out a little later. I'm trying to remember this timeline, but. But affairs, I guess it's not a surprise necessarily. We'd heard and known about these things for a while.
Amy Robach
Yes, we had been hearing about affairs and absolutely had heard about ties to Epstein 100% that she never liked Him. She didn't like him. By the time. Think about this. By the time their divorce was announced in 2021, Jeffrey Epstein had been dead for two years. So his story was out there and it was building at that point. So there were. It was more like whispers. It wasn't anything direct.
TJ Holmes
All right, well, with this huge bombshell news today, we also are just getting other Epstein related news. Another big name goes down. Stay here.

TJ Holmes
All right, we continue here on Amy and TJ with the news just coming from a bombshell Wall Street Journal report. Bill Gates at a town hall admitted to his staff at the Gates foundation that he, yes, did have a relationship with Jeffrey Epstein that he believes was wrong. He apologized to his staff for it and any pain he caused them and the foundation, and also admitted to two affairs with two Russian women. And as you put it, Rose, he wanted us to know they were smart, bridge player and a nuclear physicist.
Amy Robach
Right? Yes.
TJ Holmes
All right. But that wasn't the only name there have been, Rose. We can't keep up with the names. If we start trying to list right now, we're talking some of the biggest names in business, some of the biggest companies. Epstein is still having an impact. And now another big name tied to Harvard. He was trying to lay low, but he's not going to survive this either. No.
Amy Robach
Larry Summers, we have heard his name multiple times for years now, connected to Jeffrey Epstein. He, of course, is the former treasury secretary. And he announced just a short while ago that, yes, he does plan to resign from his role as a tenured professor at Harvard University. There are, we have talked about this. There are certain roles, there are certain positions that people just don't walk away from, period. And that's one of them. A tenured professor at Harvard University. You don't leave that, you don't retire to spend time with your family. And so this is something, another major, major powerful person to fall from this Epstein drop, this latest Epstein drop last year, right?
TJ Holmes
His name was attached to an Epstein drop and he said he was he resigned from a bunch of boards and he said he was not doing any more public appearances, canceled all that stuff gonna lay low. But the one thing he was holding was the Harvard gig and he was going to continue and now that's gone it I'm still just fascinated Robes of how from the the Prime Minister's office in the UK to the White House to ever to Harvard to every major company, it is amazing what he was able to do and continues to do how many I keep asking you, how long has he been dead? 20. 19.
Amy Robach
Well this summer it'll be seven years. So six, six and a half years right now. And so this is what Larry Summers official statement was just a short while ago. I have made the difficult decision to retire from my Harvard professorship professorship at the end of this academic year. I will always be grateful to the thousands of students and colleagues I have been privileged to teach and work with since coming to Harvard as a graduate student 50 years ago. Woo. So he says free from formal responsibility. He said he looks forward to time engaging in research analysis. I'm sure it's all going to be behind the scenes. As you point out, he had already made that public statement that he was retreating based on growing scrutiny and this latest document dump just and I think seeing all the other big names start to fall from former Prince Andrew to the top lawyer at Goldman Sachs, it just, it keeps, it keeps the names just keep coming and coming.
TJ Holmes
Peter Randelson, UK Ambassador Peter Atia over at CBS News just recently the who was the lord? You said it was more which company was it?
Amy Robach
It was Goldman Sachs.

Amy and T.J. deliver a sharp, comprehensive breakdown of Bill Gates’ acknowledgment of past affairs and his Epstein association, highlighting how documentary evidence and mounting pressure led to a rare admission. They contextualize Gates’ fallout in the broader tapestry of powerful figures ensnared by Epstein revelations, with Larry Summers’ resignation serving as the latest domino. The episode’s energy is persistent and probing, urging accountability from the world’s most powerful, and reminding listeners that the search for truth—and consequences—continues.
