TJ Holmes
Hey there folks. It is Saturday, March 1st 14th, and an explosive new report just out says that actor Timothy Busville, already facing charges for child sex abuse, is now facing allegations from a number of women that he also sexually abused them. And with that, welcome to this episode of Amy and TJ Robes. First reaction to this one was just,
Amy Robach
whoa, it, it was shocking. And to read the excerpts from what these women all told police and this, they all came forward after the allegations from these twin boys and their parents.
TJ Holmes
That timing, we always say this about when women aren't believed and the timing, who do they tell and all these things. Ropes he was arrested what was January 4th? It was early January. These interview these women were talking to police. Within weeks they called after seeing his arrest.
Amy Robach
I have chills hearing that because in some of these cases, these women did go to police at the time and were told, yeah, he's just going to get a slap on the wrist. This really isn't worth your time or ours. So these were women who actually some of them were on the record when it happened. So it's not as if they waited or they actually tried to civilly go after him for money. Now, some of them did receive payment after there were a couple, but a lot of these, it's just I think what's so shocking and stunning about them is that they all sound exactly the same. There was a pattern that they are describing that is chilling because it lends credibility to their stories. They weren't talking to one another, didn't
TJ Holmes
know each other at all. Yeah, there was no connection here.
Amy Robach
Stories are so similar.
TJ Holmes
She said she went to police. Yes, that was one. But Robes, they said, yeah, just go ahead. This will go over. He's not just going to get a slap on the wrist. It's difficult to read. One of them also went to her own dad, who also. And that family is now thinking, did we not do enough and let him off the hook at the time?
Amy Robach
Yes. They describe him crying, begging for them not to go to police. And now this young woman who is speaking, she's a, she's a grown woman now speaking to police, saying, yes, she's a little angry at her father, but also worried about and wondering whether if they had pursued charges then, if they had gone forward, could they have prevented other women and maybe even these children from also now being in the same position.
TJ Holmes
And Rose, I put at the top here one of the women. This is kind of sums up and this is a heartbreaking quote, but she said, and I quote, I thought these are not isolated cases. And your time talking about herself, your time is not the one and only time it's ever happened. This time it was a kid. This is what they're looking at. We've seen things like this in the past, Robes, where people will come forward and go, wait a minute, it wasn't just me.
Amy Robach
And then there's guilt associated with that because you think if I had spoken up, if I had pushed harder to have this man face charges, if I had spoken up louder, then maybe this next victim wouldn't have had to suffer the way I have. And so, yes, there is that feeling about these interviews. They're serious speaking about that. And that also lends credibility because they're actually feeling responsible for not having pushed and tried to make sure he was stopped before further abuse could have happened.
TJ Holmes
So let's go with this at the top. And to say clearly and plain as day, Timothy Busville is an innocent man until proven otherwise. He has denied every bit of every allegation that's been out there against him at least certainly in this current case. We have not heard from him. We heard from his attorney. We'll share that here in a moment about these allegations. But he right now is facing charges and he is an innocent man until otherwise said. But this morning, and it came out late last night, Robes, that at least four women have come forward to police claiming that Timothy Busfield sexually abused them. This report comes to us from the USA Today. And Robes, this comes from that. This. The, the women didn't come to them? No, they didn't go get interviews with these women. What the U.S. what USA Today did was made an official request for records having to do with Busfield's. Case to a judge, to a court. And these videos they say they have seen, these women are on video telling their stories.
Amy Robach
Yes. And so they watched all four interviews with these women and police and the dates. I mean, to me, it stood out to me. These were all immediate. Yes. Like within days of these allegations from these twin boys and their parents, it prompted them to say, oh, my God, that was for them, the straw that broke the camel's back. Now they were like, we have to come forward and tell our stories to lend credibility to what these two young boys are saying. Because it looked as though people weren't believing them. Certainly we watched all the proceedings, we heard all the back and forth, and I was on the fence. Look, we don't know what happened. But you started to think, wow, the credibility of the parents of these twins, really, through the entire case and the allegations against Busfield in serious question, they
TJ Holmes
went really after those parents as. As shysters, that this is what they do. They shake down celebrities.
Amy Robach
Effective. Very effective. Because you and I were both, you know, thinking, wow, you can see the motive behind these parents. A financial motive even, or a revenge motive for having their two young sons not return for the fourth season of. Was it the House Cleaner? Is that. What was it?
TJ Holmes
I'm trying to remember the name of the. The Cleaner.
Amy Robach
The Cleaner. The Cleaner. That was a series that went on for four seasons. So you were thinking, wow, you know what? I was very skeptical. But now that motivated these women to go to police and say, wait, we need to tell our story too, because this is decades, Decades of abuse. I mean, because the allegations go way back.
TJ Holmes
He was arrested. I'm looking at the details here. On the 13th. Two days later, interviews were being done. As early as two days later, someone had reached out to police after they had seen what was going on with him. And again, he has that a court date, did he. It was a plea. Did he officially enter a plea yet or just an appearance?
Amy Robach
I believe it was not. We, you know, we saw his bond hearing. So he initially was. And the. And the DA in this case said, Timothy Busfield is. He grooms people. He's a dangerous man. He's a threat to any child who's around him or to any woman who's around him. And so they wanted him to stay behind bars until his trial. And he had a groundswell of support from fellow actors, directors. We saw the entire bond hearing, and it was compelling. And the. The judge agreed and let Timothy Busfield out of prison until the next hearing and eventually his trial, which Is not
TJ Holmes
scheduled till next year, well into next year actually. But I don't know what this happened. There is a statute of limitations always on many of these things. But they decided they wanted to come forward. All these allegations, robes are alleged to have happened between 1993 and 2000. That is a long, long time ago.
Amy Robach
And look, initially we had heard at least, and the d. A. The prosecutor brought up one of these allegations. It was the one where the father came forward but said, look, we decided, I'm a therapist. He agreed to go to therapy. I made the decision not to press charges and to have my daughter not say anything. So we already knew about that particular alleged incident. But it made sense when his lawyers were arguing, look, this is nothing to do with someone who's accused of criminally sexually abusing minors who are 7, 8, 9. This is. That's a completely different situation and shouldn't be considered when we're thinking about these initial charges. And that made sense to me and
TJ Holmes
it maybe made sense to the judge at the time. What this means for that case, what this means for Timothy Busfield moving forward, we don't know. A reminder. Timothy Busfield, yes. He is an Emmy award winning actor. He was on the West Wing for many years. He has been doing a lot of directing, but he also. 34, 30, something that a lot of people know, but he has been working, continues to work in the industry. You were the one that had to remind me of who he's married to, who is an absolute television icon.
Amy Robach
Oh, yes. Melissa Gilbert, Half pint. Laura Ingalls Wilder. She played the star on little house on the Prairie. It was my go to favorite, favorite television show when I was a young kid. I loved Melissa Gilbert. And you know, she has, she has. She's television. She's a television icon. She's an actress that people will go back and think of their childhood and have warm, fuzzy memories. So, yeah, she is a beloved iconic actress.
TJ Holmes
So she certainly, her being a part of this story, him being married to her certainly adds to a lot of intrigue in this story. So some of these claims include, again, a lot of them sound familiar? Excuse me. Similar. I should say that they sound similar. In which he forced himself on them. According to these allegations. He groped them, had his hands all over them in some cases. These girls were teenagers. A couple of women reported, again, they don't know each other, but they reported similar things. That after they denied his advances, he would tell them, you're never going to work in this industry again. So those are the allegations let's go through some specifically here. Let's start robes with the one we were talking about out that had to do with the dad. This was a young lady who was 16 years old. We heard about this from the original complaint. But she worked at a theater in Sacramento that bus fill owned along with his brother brother. So they had a lot of interns out there who were coming in and out of that place. She was one of them. According to the complaint. She did complain that he did make a advance towards her. They did not go to police. But now the quotes we're getting robes from the videos that USA Today has seen. It starts to tell more and paint more of a picture of the story.
Amy Robach
Yes, this is what this 6 then 16 year old intern told police. He, meaning Timothy Busfield, grabbed me in between the legs and pulled me down from the ladder and turned me around and stuck his tongue down my throat and touched me all over aggressively. I pushed him off of me.
TJ Holmes
Now several, we hear several stories along in this USA Today write up that go along those same lines.
Amy Robach
Yes, this is a very similar scene. This exact incident was described by multiple women. She told two people and then she said so everybody was mad at me. So that's why I thought it was my fault because the boys were like, we don't get to work with Tim anymore.
TJ Holmes
It's interesting to hear like folks were mad at her for complaining that Tim Busville had done something to her. So this didn't go anywhere. However, she did tell her dad. The dad also did an interview with police in which he told them, quote, tim admitted doing this. He started crying with all of his Emmy award winning acting. And I fell for it. I felt badly for him. So I told him if he went to therapy for a year or two that I would not report this to police. And it was never reported to police.
Amy Robach
Wow. And then he went on to say his internship program was nothing more than a pool of young people that would do anything to get ahead in their acting career and looked at Tim Busfield as a God and he took advantage of them times over many years. That is a powerful statement. And that was part of what the prosecutor was trying to tell the judge when she wanted him or his bond revoked or denied because she said he has power and he anyone who wants to get into the industry, especially in some local town where you've got. He's the God. He's an Emmy award winning actor. Yeah. He's going to have a unique position with young folks that most people don't have. And he's chosen to put himself in this position so he can abuse victims.
TJ Holmes
Another one that they quoted here, another person that stepped forward, talked to police. Another intern, Another intern at the same place out there at the theater where he worked in Sacramento, where, excuse me, where Busville owned that theater. This intern told a similar story ropes that she was essentially cornered, groped, grabbed, kissed all over. His hands were all over her. But she described another incident in which he just out of the blue.
Amy Robach
Yeah.
TJ Holmes
Attacked her.
Amy Robach
Yeah. She said it felt like sexual assault. He almost dove on me. I was in shock because I didn't see it coming. And so when she denied his advances, she said he then began harassing her, whispering in her ear, you have no talent.
TJ Holmes
Like every chance he got anywhere, she
Amy Robach
said, they'd be in crowded rooms, he would make his way over to her and whisper like mean, evil things to her, basically saying, you will never make it in this industry.
TJ Holmes
So these first two, there are a 16 year old, a 20 year old, and the next, another alleged victim, a 17 year old who was an extra on a movie, Big League that he was working on. Now this is one that she said she went and she was invited to his trailer. She and her friend won and they went in there and sure enough, he started trying to give them alcohol, in particular beer. And she flat out felt he was trying to get them drunk.
Amy Robach
Yeah, that's what she said. And then she said again, similar story, pinned her up against a wall when she tried to leave. This is the victim who immediately, she says, went to police after this happened in his trailer. He, he pinned her up, tried to make sexual advances at her. I believe he. This is really gross, but this is the one where he, she said he took his, his bare foot and rubbed it up against her genital area. But she. So she goes to police and here's what she said. They basically told me, look, he's filming a show here. He'll be back in California in three weeks. The most that'll happen is he'll get a slap on the wrist. So they really told me it wasn't worth their time for pursuing.
TJ Holmes
That's tough. This was in 1990. What was this? Early 90s, early 90s. That's just. I mean.
Amy Robach
But absolutely reads that.
TJ Holmes
It does, it reads.
Amy Robach
You can see that happening.
TJ Holmes
Well, there's so many women that, who have that story. Whether, who. Maybe they weren't talking to a police officer. Maybe they were talking to their, their parent, their friend, their colleague, their whatever. That is tough to hear. It's not even worth.
Amy Robach
It's not worth it. And look, a lot of women, this could make me emotional, but a lot of women think that because yeah, it's your word against his. You're in a and you're in his trailer. He's powerful. You're not you who's going to believe you? This is the whole, whole point of this. This is just so sad because he knew that. He knows that if this is true, people in those types of positions understand who people are going to believe.
TJ Holmes
All right, well folks, stay with us here. We will let you hear how Busfield's attorney is responding to these latest allegations. Also hear the allegation from another woman, an actress who was 26 at the time. After she says this happened to her with Busfield, she told somebody on set, keep that dude away from me from now on.

All right folks, we continue here on Amy and TJ with the explosive new allegations against Timothy Busfield. These are not, we should be clear here, robes. These are not new allegations that have led now to a criminal complaint or criminal charges. But several women have come forward after Timothy Busfield was charged with child sex charges. They came forward and Say, wait a minute, this happened to me. This happened to me. They did interviews with police. Those interviews were then put into their case file essentially. And USA Today was able to get their hands on those interviews and saw those videos and that's why we have this report. One other person rose. We talked about a 16 year old, 17 year old, 20 year old. This was a 26 year old actress on the. I don't remember the strays.
Amy Robach
Strays, okay.
TJ Holmes
1991. I don't remember. But she was 26 at the time. She said this thing happened. She had to keep working with this guy on set, but made clear she didn't want to be around him.
Amy Robach
That's right. She told detectives. It happened so fast. He probably grabbed me around the chest area. Sorry. Yes. He probably grabbed me around the chest area and threw me against the wall. And I mean it was enough to shock and scare me and I'm a pretty tough cookie. He was trying to push me against the wall and basically dry hump me. I remember the erection and the tongue and the hands and throwing me up against a wall, like pinning me up against the wall. And yes, she told an assistant director after that to keep Tim Busfield away
TJ Holmes
from her, she had to keep working with him. Robes. What we have here are women who. Who voluntarily just came forward and who at least two of no. 3 told somebody immediately.
Amy Robach
Yes. And one of these women told detectives after she finished telling her story. Thank you for believing those kids, man.
TJ Holmes
So what's Busfield saying about this? His attorney put out a statement. What'd you think about this? I thought he was almost dismissive.
Amy Robach
It was a cop out to. Yes, almost dismissive. It was completely dismissive. Completely dismissive. So Busfield's attorney said this in the wake of these new allegations that USA Today is reporting, I will not waste my time nor the public's commenting on 30 year old unproven allegations with adult women. I won't want to focus everyone's attention on the irrelevant facts of these women. And I don't want to say anything negative about them. They are unproven allegations. They are not relevant to this case.
TJ Holmes
That part, I get this stuff. Is it not relevant to the case he's trying to defend his guy against? I don't know.
Amy Robach
On one hand, yes, I hear what he's saying and I was actually buying into that. When there was just one woman and her father initially, coupled with these allegations by these young boys thinking, well, if you're being accused of pedophilia, that's very different than just being a womanizer. However, I now think differently because if you have a pattern of abuse and aggression against those who are powerless and that's a sexual turn on for you, I don't know. I think you could make the argument that they are relevant if proven true.
TJ Holmes
But we're making an argument that from a public standpoint is relevant. Legally speaking, maybe not. Maybe him working in the industry. Again, this is relevant in terms of the legal, I don't know. These are allegations from decades ago that went unproven. Now if they want to try to go after him or try these, that's one thing I don't know. But bros, it's adding up from a public perception standpoint to something that is just ugly. But he is an innocent man until proven otherwise. We have to say that whatever fair shake you want to give him in public or in your own home, in your own mind and the work, that's up to every individual.
Amy Robach
Yeah, I doubt any of these would be admissible if this does go to trial. But certainly it creates some perspective into what folks are saying and what a a growing number of young actors are saying about Timothy Busfield. So we will continue to follow this story and there will certainly be more developments in this. We are sure about that. But thank you for listening to us. We always appreciate you. As someone who was Jewish, that moment felt very real to me. Not dramatic, just familiar. Podcast: Amy Robach & T.J. Holmes Present (iHeartPodcasts)
Episode: UPDATE: Damning New Allegations Against Emmy Winning Actor Timothy Busfield
Date: March 14, 2026
This episode centers on explosive new allegations against Emmy-winning actor Timothy Busfield, who is already facing charges of child sexual abuse. Hosts Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes discuss a recent investigative report revealing that, in the wake of Busfield's arrest, multiple women have come forward to accuse him of sexual abuse dating back decades. The pair analyze the details of the allegations, discuss legal and public perception aspects, and reflect on patterns common to such cases in Hollywood.
"Some of these cases, these women did go to police at the time and were told, yeah, he's just going to get a slap on the wrist. This really isn't worth your time or ours." [04:26]
"I thought these are not isolated cases. Your time is not the one and only time it's ever happened. This time it was a kid." [05:59]
"If I had spoken up, if I had pushed harder to have this man face charges...maybe this next victim wouldn't have had to suffer the way I have." [06:28]
Groping, aggressive advances, and career-related threats (e.g., "you're never going to work in this industry again").
Example 1: A 16-year-old intern at a Sacramento theater owned by Busfield and his brother.
"He...grabbed me in between the legs and pulled me down from the ladder and turned me around and stuck his tongue down my throat and touched me all over aggressively. I pushed him off of me." [13:49]
"Tim admitted doing this. He started crying with all of his Emmy award winning acting. And I fell for it...I told him if he went to therapy...I would not report this to police." [14:29]
The prosecutor cited Busfield’s unique position of power and habitual abuse of young people seeking industry entry.
Example 2: Another intern describes being harassed, groped, and belittled after refusing his advances.
"She said...He almost dove on me. I was in shock because I didn't see it coming...He then began harassing her, whispering in her ear, you have no talent." [16:06, 16:22]
Example 3: A 17-year-old extra on a movie set who claims Busfield tried to ply her and her friend with alcohol before allegedly assaulting her.
"They basically told me, look, he's filming a show here... he'll be back in California in three weeks. The most that'll happen is he'll get a slap on the wrist." [16:55-17:37]
"He probably grabbed me around the chest area and threw me against the wall...He was trying to push me against the wall and basically dry hump me. I remember the erection and the tongue and the hands and throwing me up against a wall." [23:32]
[24:26-25:07]
Busfield’s attorney dismisses the allegations, stating:
"I will not waste my time nor the public's commenting on 30-year-old unproven allegations with adult women. I won't want to focus everyone's attention on the irrelevant facts of these women...They are unproven allegations. They are not relevant to this case." [24:32]
Hosts debate the impact of such allegations:
"...if you have a pattern of abuse and aggression against those who are powerless and that's a sexual turn on for you...I think you could make the argument that they are relevant if proven true." [25:15]
"Some of these cases, these women did go to police at the time and were told, yeah, he's just going to get a slap on the wrist. This really isn't worth your time or ours."
— Amy Robach [04:26]
"I thought these are not isolated cases. Your time is not the one and only time it's ever happened. This time it was a kid."
— Unnamed Alleged Victim (quoted by TJ Holmes) [05:59]
"Tim admitted doing this. He started crying with all of his Emmy award winning acting. And I fell for it."
— Father of one alleged victim (quoted by TJ Holmes) [14:29]
"She said...He almost dove on me. I was in shock because I didn't see it coming...He then began harassing her, whispering in her ear, you have no talent."
— Amy Robach [16:06, 16:22]
"I will not waste my time nor the public's commenting on 30-year-old unproven allegations with adult women..."
— Busfield's Attorney (quoted by Amy Robach) [24:32]
The episode provides a nuanced, in-depth look at fresh allegations against Timothy Busfield, giving voice to survivors, contextualizing the legal landscape, and examining the implications for Hollywood’s culture of power and silence. The hosts stress the principle of innocent until proven guilty, but the gravity and similarity of the new accounts mark a significant escalation in the public and legal scrutiny facing Busfield. The relevance of these decades-old accusations and the effect on public perception versus their direct admissibility in court remain open questions, which Amy and TJ pledge to follow as the case develops.
