Andy
People are the biggest victims now. They say, yeah, self sabotage, but you don't understand. Dude, shut your mouth. That's like, listen, when you talk about addictions, like, my mom's an alcoholic, right? She's a loser. Well, does that mean I'm gonna be an alcoholic? What if your dad beat the hell out of you when you were a kid? Are you gonna go beat the shit out of your kid? Don't be an idiot. If you're doing something right now that doesn't align with like, who you want to be and your identity, you fix it now.
Brendan
So my question, more going back to mentality. I always believe about if you want to help someone, you have to be able to help yourself. But we always have blocks or some kind of bad habits. And I sometimes tell myself that they're so bad that they become an addiction to being bad. So you get addicted to those bad habits and you cannot get out of them. So how you get over those blocks.
Andy
All those bad habits, that's just a weak ass excuse. Listen to me, are you proud of yourself with those bad habits? Okay? When the pain overrides the fear of change, people change. Why were you scared of changing? Do you believe that it's possible? Listen, you just got to get through that. I mean, that's just between you and you. Listen, every day you're going to go to war with your old self. Every day until you die. It's going to be a never ending war. And I love it. And I'm just, you know, it's just, you just have to do. Listen, like, just, do you like the way you're living right now? And I mean, like, I'm not saying, are you okay? Do you have a good life? I'm saying, like, are you absolutely proud of who you are? And if you're not, change it, Change it, man. I mean, that's why I study people. Because I'm like, how do they gotta make that much money? Dude, I watch people when they walk. And I'm like, that guy's holding his wife's hand. Look how affectionate he's with her at dinner. Then I'll just go do that at dinner. Like, I will just mirror anything. It's called modeling proven practices when someone's doing something that works. And by the way, my deal is I'm not gonna reason with some bullshit. Dude, listen, People are the biggest victims now. They say, yeah, self sabotage. But you don't understand. Dude, shut your mouth. That's like, listen, when you talk about addictions, like my mom's an alcoholic. Right? She's a loser. Well, does that mean I'm going to be an alcoholic? What if your dad beat the hell out of you when you were a kid? Are you going to go beat the shit out of your kid? Don't be an idiot. If you're doing something right now that doesn't align with, like, who you want to be and your identity, you fix it now. And if you don't fix it, I'm going to tell you this. It just means that you're average.
Jackie
What that's going to do for you in the future, you know, kids.
Andy
Well, I've got kids, and I can't tell them they can overcome everything if I can't. And so, like, internally, I'm just thinking, I can't tell my team. You got a team. You can't tell your team. They can overcome anything. You're fraud. Hey, man, I got this problem, bro. You can do it. You're a liar. You're a liar. You can't overcome your own super important guys.

Andy
Kill it. That's why I said, don't be a fraud. So we have meetings every. Every week in our company. What are they? Don't be a fraud meetings. Don't be a fraud. Seriously. And by the way, this is crazy. We'll finish with this. I literally, we go around the room and I say, all right, Brendan, I want you to say something about someone in this room that they said about you or that that you don't like about them. And I want you to tell them what you don't like. Dude, I make everyone say, and it could be even me, say something about someone so we can all learn how to kill the resentment inside people. Because that's the thing that. That. And you'll resent yourself if you don't change. And so I just want to tell you, like, I kill it in my team. I kill it in myself. And so it's the un. It's the unsurfaced problem that ends up usually killing why someone leaves, you know? You know, yeah, this person, they didn't like the way they were being treated. This guy said this. I'm like, dude, we never even knew that was going on. So I make them say, hey, I want you to say something about someone in the room that they did in the last month that you didn't like something they did. And you're like, oh, I don't know. I want you to say. And they'll say like, well, I heard you talking to that customer and you told him to do this, but you don't even do that. And so, like, when you did that, like, I'm like, you're a liar. And you did that to get the sale. But I don't. You're a liar. And, dude, that guy's number one. You have to own it. When somebody tells you this, you have to say this number one. You can't fight back. You have to say number one. I respect you for telling me, so thank you. I owe you. I'm going to get better. You have to own it. You have to swallow that pill. And by the way, that honesty and truth keeps our team so close, because if they can be direct with each other, they will be together forever.
Jackie
Yeah, that's how they grow.
Andy
Yeah, that's how they grow. And it's awkward, man. I'm telling you, I'm sweating sometimes. You know what I mean? Honestly, like, they're. They get ruthless with each other, and sometimes it's almost even unfair, but at least they're telling each other. Okay, and then. And then. And how does it end? They all end up hugging and. And I say, all right, go give them a hug. Well, that's the.
Jackie
That's the way that we lost one of our, like, high earner employees one time because the team sat said what they felt, and he did not take it the right way. But everybody felt the same way. And even Andy and I didn't even realize that it was that. They all felt that. And, you know, hey, the truth freaking hurts. But it was the best thing that could have happened to our culture and everything else like that. The team spoke up and said what they're talking about. So it's important, by the way, building.
Andy
A culture like we're telling you about. I mean, me and Jackie did it. We had to work for people that didn't ever do anything good for us to realize that, all right, we're going to go and build the greatest team ever. And it's just taken time. And honestly, you know, those original people that work in your company, they've got to get on board with you and they probably will be your biggest advocates of helping you grow this culture, you know, because remember this and we're done. But leadership is self leadership first. If you don't lead yourself, no one else is going to want to be led by you. So that's why I said you have to change. We keep going back to self leadership. Step two is in building more leaders, right? Like you start to lead people, okay? So when you change now you're changing everyone else. And then step three is once you change people, cool thing is those people, because they've had their life changed by you, they want to repay you by going and changing other people on the team without position. So like now you've, you've built an army member, a soldier, a great leader that's on the floor every day trying to motivate, inspire and lead people. Brandon goes around, tries to change everyone in the company. I don't pay him a bonus at the end of the month for coaching mentorship leadership. He's a leader. I built a leader. And a leader doesn't know what to do except for to lead. Does that make sense? And so I just wanted to tell you. So we have a whole company full of leaders. Like they're all leading each other. So how do you build a company? You know, Alphas normally can't be around other Alphas because they fight. All my company are Alphas. So we figured if we are great at training people, everyone eventually will be great at one point. Then what happens? Well, we all kill each other. No, we have to all love each other. And so respect is a code in our company that's like hardcore live by. Like the code of like respect is huge. And so anyways, you know, just by the way, just take little pieces at a time. And when you get the right people, they're going to be hungry for more core values, more standards. If you walk into our company, we have standards and core values on every wall, in every room, on every tv, everywhere. Even in the bathroom. There's core values, the same ones. And the core value, one God. I'm very clear. Like people are like, yeah, trusting God. People are like, don't bring God in your business. Bullsh t. I'm bringing God in my business.
Unknown
I don't care.
Andy
And if people say I don't believe, fine Dude, God is love. Without God, you're without God. Without love, you're bankrupt. So if I believe in God and you don't, I'm gonna just basically show you a lot of love and I'm always gonna be loving you because that's what God is to me. Okay, cool. I'm not gonna press you to believe in God, but I believe in God and I'm the owner, so it's. I believe core value. One is trusting God. That's it. And I didn't tell you what religion you had to follow. I just believe that there is a God that you need to believe in. You trust in them. And dude, listen to me. When people come in, I mean, the power of social media and a brand is that if you go to my social media and you look and you watch for 10 minutes, you'll see what I believe in. I can't imagine someone showing up to get a job for me thinking that they could be lazy, not take care of themselves, not be good to their family. I can't even imagine that. And so, like, you guys need to also all, like, let people know what you stand for, because most people don't stand for anything anymore. And so if you can be really clear what you stand for, you know, you'll be known. Hey, that guy, you know, he's a tough leader, man, but he builds badass people, badass companies. His people love him. Does that make sense? Yes, sir. Guys, let's give it up for Andy and Jackie.

Andy [00:00]: "People are the biggest victims now. They say, yeah, self sabotage, but you don't understand. Dude, shut your mouth."
Andy draws parallels between personal struggles like addiction and the excuses people make to justify their behaviors. He emphasizes that one's past or familial background does not determine their future actions.
Andy [00:31]: "If you're doing something right now that doesn't align with who you want to be and your identity, you fix it now."
Brendan, a guest on the episode, raises a crucial point about mental barriers and entrenched bad habits that hinder personal development. He likens these habits to addictions, making them seemingly insurmountable.
Brendan [00:31]: "They're so bad that they become an addiction to being bad."
Andy responds with unwavering confidence, labeling these bad habits as "weak ass excuses." He posits that true change occurs when the pain of remaining stagnant surpasses the fear of transformation.
Andy [00:51]: "When the pain overrides the fear of change, people change."
He further illustrates the relentless nature of self-improvement by describing it as an ongoing battle against one's former self.
Andy [00:51]: "Every day you're going to go to war with your old self. Every day until you die."
Andy shares his strategy of observing and replicating the behaviors of successful individuals. By mirroring effective practices, he believes anyone can elevate their performance.
Andy [00:51]: "I watch people when they walk. And I'm like, that guy's holding his wife's hand. Look how affectionate he's with her at dinner. Then I'll just go do that at dinner."
He underscores the importance of authenticity and warns against falling into the trap of making excuses or being complacent.
Andy [02:33]: "If you don't fix it, I'm going to tell you this. It just means that you're average."
A significant portion of the episode focuses on fostering a transparent and respectful team environment. Andy introduces the concept of "Don't Be a Fraud" meetings, where team members openly express criticisms and grievances.
Andy [03:32]: "We have meetings every week in our company. What are they? Don't be a fraud meetings."
During these sessions, team members are encouraged to confront and address underlying resentments, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and mutual respect.
Andy [05:17]: "It's the un. It's the unsurfaced problem that ends up usually killing why someone leaves."
Jackie, another team member, shares her experience with these meetings, highlighting both the challenges and the cultural benefits.
Jackie [05:39]: "The truth freaking hurts. But it was the best thing that could have happened to our culture."

Andy [06:04]: "Leadership is self leadership first. If you don't lead yourself, no one else is going to want to be led by you."
He outlines a three-step approach to building a leadership-driven organization:
Andy [06:04]: "We have a whole company full of leaders. Like they're all leading each other."
A cornerstone of Andy's leadership philosophy is the integration of core values into the company's culture. He places significant emphasis on the belief in God as a foundational value, advocating for its inclusion regardless of individual religious affiliations.
Andy [08:34]: "Core value one is trusting God. That's it."
Andy argues that clear articulation of personal and organizational values attracts like-minded individuals who align with the company's mission and ethos.
Andy [08:35]: "If you can be really clear what you stand for, you'll be known."
Towards the end of the episode, Andy passionately encourages listeners to take decisive action in their personal and professional lives. He offers a pathway for those ready to elevate themselves through one-on-one coaching.
Andy [10:15]: "If you'd like to partner with me, team with me, if you want me to help coach you and push you. Everybody needs a coach."
