Mary Ann Penashue is a renowned Innu artist and painter. Penashue was one of the last Sheshatshiu Innu of her generation born in a tent on the land, and grew up drastically different than today's youth. Penashue shares her thoughts on the changes since her childhood and advice for future artists. Penashue spoke to the Lake Melville School Grade 5 & Grade 6 Classes. Morgan Michelin is a hunter and father in North West River, Labrador. Michelin has had close calls out on the land and describes how to be safe, what to pack in a survival kit and more. Jeanien Cooper is an Inuit teacher and knowledge holder in North West River, Labrador. Cooper describes growing up on the land and the changes in the climate in the area. Mina Campbell is a knowledge holder in North West River, Labrador. Campbell was raised by her grandparents, who taught a number of traditional skills to her at a young age. Now Campbell is the Curator at the Labrador Interpretation Centre and runs a number of programs teaching young people about the traditional Inuit ways. Harvey Blake is a hunter and trapper in North West River, Labrador. Blake started trapping at a young age, and learned through experience as he trapped foxes and lynx.
