I’m always asking questions. The fun begins when you start researching for answers. Such as… How are all of these old tv shows making it back to American television? Laff TV is getting the last laugh! Plus…are humans the cause of tomorrows dried up desert floors? I’m Arroe… I am a daily writer. A silent wolf. I stand on the sidelines and do nothing but watch, listen study then activate. I call it The Daily Mess. A chronological walk through an everyday world. Yes, it’s my morning writing. As a receiver of thoughts and ideas, we as people tend to throw it to the side and deal with it later. When a subject arrives, I dig in. It’s still keeping a journal! By doing the research the picture becomes clearer. This is the Daily Mess… Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

Colin Woodard, Director of Nationhood Lab at Salve Regina University’s Pell Center and a New York Times best-selling author, will discuss how, surprisingly, where people settled during colonial times may still help explain some of America's deepest divides today. Using original research and polling data, he'll show how differences in trust, community engagement, health outcomes, and attitudes on major issues continue to vary across regions in remarkably consistent ways. At a more local level, the research also examined why some communities feel more connected, engaged, and trusting than others? The Social Capital Index looks at factors tied to strong communities, including volunteering, voter participation, involvement in local organizations, and overall community trust. Researchers say areas with higher social capital often experience stronger civic engagement, healthier communities, and a greater sense of connection. Even with regional differences, Woodard’s research shows that a common belief in the principles of the Declaration of Independence still holds us together. Recent polling from Nationhood Lab found Americans agreed by a 97-2 margin that citizens are duty-bound to protect one another’s rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. More than 80 percent of Americans said the country is defined by those shared principles, even during today’s polarized political climate.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

From bestselling author and Pulitzer Prize finalist Robert Wright comes THE GOD TEST: Artificial Intelligence and Our Coming Cosmic Reckoning (June 23rd, 2026/$30.00 hardcover), a sweeping new view of AI as an evolutionary force that will pose deep political, moral, and even spiritual challenges and could, in the process, give our species a unifying sense of purpose.THE GOD TEST is the first book to capture the power behind the AI revolution-to clearly explain the breakthroughs that sparked the current wave of advance and compellingly show why this wave will grow in magnitude and meaning. Written by one of our foremost public intellectuals and informed by his decades of chronicling the digital age, the book argues that we are about to witness the most radical transformation of politics and psychology in the history of our species. To realize this revolution's promise and avoid its potentially catastrophic perils, we'll have to navigate it as a cohesive global community. Pulling this off will require radically innovative governance and progress along another dimension as well: Humankind will have to get better at transcending the cognitive biases that constitute the "psychology of tribalism." We'll have to take a big step toward true enlightenment.Wright says that to truly understand this moment in technological history, we need to expand our perspective beyond the last century or even the whole history of technology and look back across billions of years of life on Earth. The advance of AI, he argues, is driven by evolutionary dynamics like those that led to intelligent life in the first place. And understanding those dynamics can empower us to confront our climactic challenge: Can we muster the intellectual and moral resources needed to guide this technology wisely? If we fail, the consequences for the whole planet could be grave. But if we meet the challenge-if we pass "the God test"-we can live in a world where humanity thrives, finding not just happiness but deeper meaning and purpose. The very machines that might otherwise imperil or oppress us can enrich us, helping us transcend the psychological impediments to human concord and fulfillment.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

Mandy Gonzalez Sings Lin-Manuel Miranda.A Broadway powerhouse known for her starring roles in Sunset Blvd, Wicked, Hamilton, and In the Heights, Mandy debuted this show at Carnegie Hall to a standing ovation and rave feedback from both audiences and Lin-Manuel Miranda himself (see attached). She’s bringing the production to select cities nationwide this year, and I’d love to set up an interview for Mandy to speak about the show and collaboration with Lin! Everything I Know is a symphonic concert experience celebrating Miranda’s iconic music—from Hamilton, In the Heights, Moana, Encanto, and The Little Mermaid to rarely performed gems like 21 Chump Street and “Delivery.” As one of Miranda’s earliest collaborators, Mandy brings a uniquely personal perspective and emotional depth to the material. It won’t take long to understand exactly why Lin-Manuel Miranda praises Mandy Gonzalez as “...one of the greatest singers on earth.”Mandy and Lin first met in 2004 and have collaborated for over 20 years. After years of concert performances, Mandy saw growing audience demand for a full symphonic experience of his work and partnered with Lin to create this show.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

Rarely do you hear anyone talking about having hope unless they're hoping for a good seat at Taylor Swifts wedding. That's called selfish hope. Take the time to ask the silver haired people about hope and you'll learn things your parents kept from you. Hope... we lack it in it's truest shape and foundation of outreach.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.
