My father felt no need to hold back when it came to knocking his kids off this know-it-all soapbox. It's actually very rude to constantly correct people. Then why do we do it?Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

I’m always asking questions. The fun begins when you start researching for answers. Such as… With all these so called Great’s we are present day digesting and having to live with…the Goats of history…did Jesus ever have a moment of ten where he thought of himself as the greatest of all time? Plus…is there such a thing as not getting high enough? You get the buzz, but its not high enough? I’m Arroe… I am a daily writer. A silent wolf. I stand on the sidelines and do nothing but watch, listen study then activate. I call it The Daily Mess. A chronological walk through an everyday world. Yes, it’s my morning writing. As a receiver of thoughts and ideas, we as people tend to throw it to the side and deal with it later. When a subject arrives, I dig in. It’s still keeping a journal! From the Emmy-nominated comedian who created "the best segment in late night" (Vulture) comes this hilarious and practical collection of advice for how to live your best life in love, at work, and in comedy. You'd think with a résumé like Jenny Hagel's-being a writer/performer for Late Night with Seth Meyers, and head writer/EP of The Amber Ruffin Show-she would describe her greatest accomplishment as something like sharing the stage with Hillary Clinton, or the six times she was nominated for an Emmy. Yet, for Jenny, landing a joke or going to a fancy award show pales in comparison to her true passion: giving people advice.Jenny is so obsessed with (addicted to?) offering unsolicited wisdom that she runs a sold-out live show in NewYork City called, appropriately, Jenny Hagel Gives Advice. With her debut essay collection, Jenny sets out to backseat drive for as many unwitting strangers as possible. The result is a heartfelt and funny journey through a list of life-changing recommendations, like: wear black when you travel, buy an analog watch, and just because you can go into the monkey enclosure while visiting Honduras doesn't mean that you should.Essay Chapters include:Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

Do you believe in resurrections? They happen every day. But are you willing to listen, to participate, to explore and find newer ways to understand your personal journey? This podcast isn’t about what we study and see through the eyes of religion. My Boy Boy Ernie spoke with me every chance we had together. But this isn’t about resurrecting a spiritual brother of nearly 34 years. This resurrection is that of a writing instrument. Verbal documentation of what some may call a vision quest. Trusting the great mysteries of life. Tools are handed to us to carve out each expectation. This tool was laid to rest inside a forest floor. To experience the elements of reality while connecting with a universe that unconditionally shares its stories. But whose writing it? Valley of Fire Records released "Judge Jackson: Chapter One," marking the 10th anniversary of the passing of guitarist and co-founder Lee Jackson. This release commemorates the beginnings of the band's history and the vibrant stories from the creatively rich compound known as The Junkyard in North Hollywood, CA. Additionally, the lyric video for the song "Knucklehead" was unveiled on the same day.Long before their music featured in a Super Bowl, NASCAR race, and collaborations with an Oscar winner (notably, Billy Bob Thornton), Judge Jackson established themselves as the soundtrack to many people's lives. The origins of Judge Jackson date back to 1995, when vocalist and lyricist Todd McTavish, who had moved from Canada where he once played in a band with Shania Twain as a backup vocalist, partnered with guitarist and songwriter Lee Jackson in Los Angeles. Together with bassist Ryan Rogers and drummer Chris Pendleton, they diligently performed in the local club circuit, gradually cultivating a devoted local following. By 1998, the band released its debut album, followed shortly by a second CD, titled "8068."The initial CD releases have been out of print for years; however, these 18 songs are now being re-released digitally in 2026. The tracks have been remastered by producer Tim Narducci for Valley of Fire Records, with the first release being the fan favorite and bike rally anthem, “Knucklehead,” on January 1, 2026, coinciding with the 5th anniversary of Valley of Fire Records. This remastered collection features 18 songs that are now available on all digital and streaming platforms. We invite you to join us in celebrating the life and music of Lee Jackson.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.
