It seems so stupid. To physically ask yourself questions then question answers. Now do it with a digital device recording every breath you take. The stupid mental earthquake hits. It feels so stupid to ask yourself about the walk and way. Especially when there are billions of others around your decision making. Yeah, and none of them have spent 30 seconds in your shoes. WTF do they know about the real you? Ask yourself the questions and show off that feeling of doing something assumed stupid. It's your greatest decision to know you.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

Animals evolved and flourished in nature for millions of years. In a fraction of that time they have adapted to urban settings in ways that epidemiologists are still puzzling out. How have our cities changed animals forever – and what can we learn from the paths they’ve taken to coexist with us? Award winning writer and epidemiologist Dan Werb shines a fascinating light on the wild creatures who thrive in metropolises in the new book, OUR WILD FAMILIARS: How Animals Are Adapting to Cities and Reshaping the Natural World. Known as synanthropes, animals such as rats, bats, pigeons, raccoons, and octopi have turned urban areas into increasingly bizarre homes and ecosystems. Even plants like kelp have created new niches for themselves in polluted waterways. Werb reveals how these animals/plants have adapted, become changed by everything from pizza to commuters, and what we can learn from the synanthropes who populate our streets, alleys, skyscrapers, subways, and homes. I’m always asking questions. The fun begins when you start researching for answers. Such as… How proper are snot rockets? You know, that moment of blasting a huge chunk of something from your nose onto the surface of the earth or whatever gets in the way. A snot rocket! Plus…who is this odd-looking man on social media that calls himself Zues? What’s his schtick? I’m Arroe… I am a daily writer. A silent wolf. I stand on the sidelines and do nothing but watch, listen study then activate. I call it The Daily Mess. A chronological walk through an everyday world. Yes, it’s my morning writing. As a receiver of thoughts and ideas, we as people tend to throw it to the side and deal with it later. When a subject arrives, I dig in. It’s still keeping a journal! By doing the research the picture becomes clearer. This is the Daily Mess…Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

The most controversial man in professional wrestling tells all in the story of the upstart TNA with stories that will make your jaw drop.Vince Russo, known as the most successful writer in the history of professional wrestling, brought the World Wrestling Federation to its greatest success during the Attitude Era, creating a brand of wrestling that brought the industry to record heights. Three decades later, Russo is still talked about as one of the most influential men in the industry.Following the success of his first two books, Forgiven (covering his years with Vince McMahon's WWE) and Rope Opera: How WCW Killed Vince Russo (his time with Ted Turner's rival), TOTAL NONSTOP AGONY: The Rise and Fall of TNA picks up Russo's story as he begins work with the upstart TNA, where the daily drama proved greater than ever. The storylines here feature an indecisive millionaire southern belle, Dixie Carter, who cared more about her image then her wrestling company; the demise of his friendship with his best friend, Wrestling Superstar Jeff Jarrett; the network executives at Spike TV, who understood very little about the business they were in; and the return of his mortal enemies from WCW, Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan.Russo's TNA stories are epic, and many have never been told before. The politics, runaway egos, backstabbing, and underhandedness make the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills look like Little Women. Finally, the time has come to discuss TNA: this is the tell-all that no one has ever dared, and no one can tell the story better than Vince Russo.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

Billy West is one the most accomplished and beloved voice actors alive today. He's brought to life original animated characters like Stimpy from Ren & Stimpy, Doug Funnie, and Philip J. Fry, Dr. Zoidberg, Zapp Brannigan, and Professor Farnsworth (and more) on Futurama. And he's played iconic characters like Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd in Space Jam, Popeye, and Woody Woodpecker.Chances are, he's made you laugh many times. You might even know some of his lines by heart. In Voice-A-Versa, West recounts his remarkable life in show business and the circuitous route that got him there, from a radio-call in contest that led to skits on morning radio in Boston, to a one-off appearance on The Howard Stern Show that turned into a regular role, to a big move to Hollywood, and legendary roles working with other talented creators. But West's life story is deeper and darker than that, and this memoir reveals the traumatic upbringing that scarred and shaped him, and which gave birth to the "Billy-verse" of voices."Billy West is the kind of genius you have to write about in the plural. He's not just a brilliant actor, he's a hundred brilliant actors. And this hilarious book will give you the lowdown on Billy's wild lives and unforgettable voices, and how those fevered brains of his crack us all up." -MATT GROENING, The SimpsonsBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

STRANDED IN THE FUTURE is a kind of dystopian self-portrait. It's about obsession, and obsessive behavior. Spanning from 1968 to 1978, it takes in the mythology that teenagers weave around their musical heroes and their early loves: in this case, one specific hero and one specific love. The book explores the way that Hitchcock, in his own head, linked these two figures to each other, although they never actually met.On the way, the story mines the incremental hangover of the 1970s as Hitchcock begins to play live, teaches himself to write songs, and eventually forms the Soft Boys. There's a side order of trolleybuses too! Hitchcock's beautiful prose will resonate far beyond the fans of his music, and build on the literary following he established with his first book, 1967: How I Got There and Why I Never Left.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.
