Foreign. Welcome to ASCP Esty Talk. I'm Ella Crestman, Licensed Esthetician, forever student of the Skin and Content Contributor for Associated Skincare Professionals.
Maggie Stasik
I'm Maggie Stasik, licensed esthetician and ASCP's program director.
Ella Crestman
Hey SD besties. It's that time again where Maggie and I shine a spotlight on ASAP's family favorite things. But this time around we have some brands that are old favorites with new concepts. Ooh. Some that you may not have heard of. Ooh. But some you need to know about. And a few in between that may surprise you.
Maggie Stasik
And be sure to listen in because bonus, you have a chance to win one of these awesome products on our social media.
Ella Crestman
I know, it's so cool. So this is going to be very exciting. Maggie, let's get started. What is our first ASCP favorite things?
Maggie Stasik
Our brand is Dermaflash. We have two devices from them. The first is Dermaflash. Cool. So what this is is a handheld cooling and sonic facial massage device. This device is awesome and what drove me to this device is I actually have really bad allergies so this is fantastic for getting rid of any puffiness and irritation around the eyes and it really helped me in just draining the lymph and making me feel better when I woke up in the morning.
Ella Crestman
I love this device too. The way I found it was at the ASCP school forum and the way I wanted to use it was so off of the way it should be used. I was like oh this is so cooling. It was like a, almost like an ice pack. And I wanted to use it on my ankle. And the girl was like, no, it's for faces. But it was cool. So I, I tried it too. And I love this. I love it so much because it is cool. But it's instantly cool too, which is another really great part of it. And I love this for those inflamed acne lesions or those underground ones that come up. Just hold it for a little bit. And it's crazy how much that reduces inflammation and almost prevents it from one of those volcano eruptors. Yeah.
Maggie Stasik
What you guys need to know about this device is that it has sonic vibration. There is a cooling copper dome that's the head of the device that gets cool and it stays cool for about six minutes. It is great for that puffiness like we said, especially around the eyes. Fluid retention, draining that lymphatic drainage. If you have a client with redness, with rosacea tired looking skin, this is a fantastic add on to any of your facial treatments or for home.
Ella Crestman
And you know what, it's priced so accessibly that you can sell this for home use. And one of the things that really was eye opening for me is the thought that getting neurotoxin injections could cause like muscle atrophy, which encourages lymphatic stagnation in the eye area. So using a device like this for home care really helps move it.
Maggie Stasik
Yeah, totally agree.
Ella Crestman
Great.
Maggie Stasik
Derma Flash also has another device that I am in love with same. It is Derma Flash Pro. You need this in your life. This is essentially a dermaplaning device. It is beautifully designed, so smartly designed. And I just want to preface by saying if you live in a state where you cannot dermaplane, this is classified as a cosmetic device. You can use it. So some of the things that I love about this is it has a smart guard. You will not cut or nick yourself or your clients. It also comes with storage canister for your used tips. And then also think about like the razors that you use at home where it has a nice little cartridge that you just click into. This operates in the same way.
Ella Crestman
You know what, I'm going to be honest with you with this device. I didn't think I was going to love it as much as I do because I have been traditional dermaplaning for so long. But I love it. I love it for so many reasons. It takes the treatment time and it cuts it down, which is awesome. But the other thing is it does eliminate the opportunity for those nicks. And it happens. And then not finally. But another bonus is you're able to get consistent exfoliation, consistent hair removal, where sometimes with dermaplaning, if you go over it too many times, you're having unpredictable depth. It's a possibility, but not with this product. I love it. I did not expect to love this as much as I do.
Maggie Stasik
The other thing that's really cool about this device that you do not find in traditional dermaplaning, it has sonic vibration. So there's three settings. Low, mid, high is how you can think about it. And it helps to vibrate and lift the dead corneocytes. So you get very good exfoliation.
Ella Crestman
I know it's again, I. And it's not bad for the replacement blades at all. It's not bad. And it's got this nice little cartridge that you just hit the button and it goes in there. It's nice and safely secured. So awesome. Next up, we have two products from Victoria Deann. We have the Pepti Eye Serum and the VO Hydro Firm eye cream. I have a story about the Pepti Serum.
Maggie Stasik
Tell me.
Ella Crestman
So years ago, I had basically been mentoring a student, and she was like, oh, have you tried this? She brings in this little tiny vial. And I got on my horse and I said, you know what? You can't always fall for these things. You can't do this. Just because it says it's gonna do this doesn't mean it's gonna do this. And I intended to show her I was talking about. So I opened it up and I put it on, you know, my ring finger and I started to pat it in as I continued to, like, you know, verbally roll my eyes at, like, another one. And then I looked in the mirror as I'm talking to her, and I was like, wait a minute, what is this? It's so good. It's so effective. The eye serum, it's this lightweight peptide eye serum is designed obviously for all of those problems that we have. Puffiness, dark circles, early, early signs of aging. I love this one. The. The VO Hydro Firm eye cream is a new one that I hadn't been using. It's meant to be restorative barrier supportive eye cream to hydrate firm calm using them together. Maggie, let the drum roll. Have you, what are your thoughts on an duo like this?
Maggie Stasik
Yeah. Now listen, you guys all know how I feel about eye products, but of course, I tested these for the purpose of this podcast. They are phenomenal. I used both. I started with the serum because it's a little lighter. So I'm easing my. And then actually what I did is I layered them. I figured you've got a serum and you've got a cream.
Ella Crestman
You've.
Maggie Stasik
You put both on. Oh my God. I woke up in my eyes.
Ella Crestman
Brighter.
Maggie Stasik
10 years younger.
Ella Crestman
I'm proud of you.
Maggie Stasik
I'm so proud of you.
Ella Crestman
These are really nice, nice products and they actually work. Love it. Maggie, first of all, I'm so proud of you for using eye products.
Maggie Stasik
Thank you, Ella.
Ella Crestman
But second of all, what a great opportunity to have a whole eye routine.
Maggie Stasik
Totally.
Ella Crestman
Right. And then if you did this with the Sonic cool from Dermaflash, you would be bright eyed, bushy tail.
Maggie Stasik
Yeah.
Ella Crestman
All right, what do we got next?
Maggie Stasik
Next up is Farmhouse Fresh Full Moon Dip. This product is amazing. And if you guys are not familiar with Farmhouse Fresh, I first want to share. The thing that I absolutely love most is that they operate a non profit farm in animal sanctuary. They rescue like abused, neglected, abandoned animals and donkeys.
Ella Crestman
Get out.
Maggie Stasik
Yeah, I know.
Ella Crestman
No, that is a bonus. It's definitely a sign of, you know, when you know what a company stands for, it makes it to where you want to use their products even more just to support that.
Maggie Stasik
Yeah, totally. Anyway, back to the product. This is like an opalescence mousse and it goes on very light, very beautiful.
Ella Crestman
It's.
Maggie Stasik
It gives you this lit within glow. How I used this was on top of my moisturizer underneath my spf. Listen, I don't know if that's right or wrong, but it was almost like a makeup as skincare product for me.
Ella Crestman
I love it. I read the box for this one. Oftentimes I just usually dip in, so to speak. But the Full moon dip is supposed to be used at night. But I'm with you. I love the way it looks on my skin. It makes it look so dewy and fresh that I used it in the morning too. It smells amazing. It goes on so nice and I love the way my skin felt.
Maggie Stasik
Yeah.
Ella Crestman
This is fantastic. Because of the way that it works, it's great for retinol beginners. It is even okay for some our most sensitive clients or anyone who struggles with retinol because sometimes titrating into it is a problem. This would be a great first time. It's a gentle vitamin A because it's retinol and retinol palmitate. But it has barrier supporting lipids in it too. Love this product. Absolutely love it. Yeah.
Maggie Stasik
And here's an interesting note for anyone who's not sure? They did consumer testing. 45% saw visible improvement in deep wrinkle surface area after two months.
Ella Crestman
Drop the mic. Yeah.
Maggie Stasik
Speaking of testing, let's talk about our next product, Image Volume Lift. Okay. What is this? It is multi correction treatment cream. It's designed to support with volume, firmness, and hydration. Now, I just want to put it out there that this is marketed for people that have been using GLP1s, but it also is really just all around good use for people who want toning, lifting, tightening of the skin.
Ella Crestman
You know what's interesting? I'm glad you said that because it was really smart to come up with a product marketed for that because we see that rampant right now. A lot of that skin laxity issues from rapid weight loss, but also the nutritional changes that come with the GLP1 use. So I love that there's a product marketed for it. It makes it easier to sell.
Maggie Stasik
Yeah.
Ella Crestman
If we're being honest, like, oh, you're on this. You need this. It's a one plus one for the clients. It's not hard to sell. The other thing about this product that's cool is it has this neat flip top on it. It's a smaller flip top than traditionals like often with those, I find they're messy or they break or whatever. It's a cool package. And it's 2 ounces. It's big, so it makes sense. The price. I think it's intended definitely to be used on the face, but you can use it on the arms or other areas for. For laxity because of that size. So I like that part about too.
Maggie Stasik
I tested this product. It felt great going on. The cream was a really nice smooth consistency. It soaked right in. The smell of the product was very nice, not overpowering. And there's actually some really nice key ingredients in here that are fantastic for everyone. There is peptides, amino acids, hyaluronic acid,
Ella Crestman
bakuchiol, and you know what other ingredient that I saw in the deck that I thought was really cool because you don't see it used a lot is kangaroo paw flower extract, which is antioxidant, but it also supports fibroblast. So you can see how it complements this formula or rounds it out, if you will.
Maggie Stasik
Absolutely.
Ella Crestman
All right, you ready for the next product?
Maggie Stasik
Totally.
Ella Crestman
Before we get to the next product, let's take a break.

All right, welcome back to the podcast. Let's talk about our next product. Pavonia Phyto Gel Cleanser. This one is an old favorite. It's like calling a friend that you've known for years. This is a gel based, lightly foaming cleanser designed to remove oil, makeup and buildup. But I have to tell you how I use it. Okay, Are you ready for this?
Maggie Stasik
Tell me.
Ella Crestman
It's nice. It has a very spa smell to it and it's definitely unisex, it's definitely universal smell. But I used it as a shampoo.
Maggie Stasik
And how did you like it?
Ella Crestman
I loved it because, you know, like I'm about the scalp health right now.
Maggie Stasik
Yeah.
Ella Crestman
And I thought, oh, this has so many great botanical extracts like rosemary and sage and then the lemon for clarifying. And it was after I, you know, was like on a four day hair bender, if you will. So that plus the soap or I'm like, let's see if this works on my scalp and how I feel because it's very sensitive to different things. And I loved it. It didn't have harsh surfactants, but it still gave a nice suds. I loved this product for that. Not that I would recommend it for everyone, but I think if it holds up in that regard, gotta be good, right?
Maggie Stasik
Just hearing you say that I, I wanna go try shampooing my hair with it. But I will say this is great for me because it's good for combination oily acne prone skin. That is me. It gave me a really nice clean feel. Totally removed all of my makeup, broke down my mascara and it felt fresh.
Ella Crestman
Yes. But not over cleansed.
Maggie Stasik
Right?
Ella Crestman
Like the Goldilocks of cleansers.
Maggie Stasik
Yep. Absolutely.
Ella Crestman
Good.
Maggie Stasik
The next brand is Osmosis and we're talking about their trifusion skin ritual system. There are three parts to the system and the first thing I want to call out is their packaging, which is absolutely beautiful. Each system is a product within a syringe that is applied to the skin. First part is exosome infusion. Second part is a vitamin A facial infusion. And then third part is a liposomal delivery infusion.
Ella Crestman
You know what would be a really great Way to use this too because it's very pretty. To your point, I think it's really great. It's perfect for content, but it also provides this elevated feel for the client too because they come in these syringes. It's very pretty packaging. The products are pretty going on the skin and you can use this a few different ways. Remember the Dermaflash Pro that we were talking about earlier? This would be phenomenal after that.
Maggie Stasik
It is designed to support skin renewal, barrier repair, overall skin health without aggressively resurfacing.
Ella Crestman
Yeah. It's because it's a restorative multi layer treatment. It's not just like a normal traditional peel. And it's worked together because it's a stack delivery system. So you have these exosomes acting as signaling messengers with growth factors and then a non acid vitamin A infusion that's going to stimulate cell turnover without damaging the epidermis. And then you seal it all up with the liposomal technology to enhance penetration of all of those other goodnesses. So sexy after a Dermaflash treatment.
Maggie Stasik
Totally agree. So you can position it as a restorative strategy. It's not a quick fix if your skin is not tolerating aggressive treatments. This is how you can rebuild it
Ella Crestman
and prepare it even.
Maggie Stasik
Yeah.
Ella Crestman
You can put this in so many different places of your clients or your patient's skin journey. Like a judge, like a prep, like a finishing and as part of, you know, a protocol. I love this one. Well, this was so much fun to be able to really broaden the ideas of what's out there because there's so many things that have been around for a while or new technology. Lots of fun to try it. So just remember as a recap what we talked about today. The amazing Sonicool from Derma Flash. Also the Dermaflash Pro which is a very safe dermaplaning ish. The awesome Peptide Eye Serum from Victoria Deann and the Veo Hydro Firm Eye cream also from Victoria deanne. The Full Moon Dip from Farmhouse Fresh Images, Volu Lift and the Pavonia Phytogel Cleanser. Then of course finally, the Osmosis Tri Fusion Skin Ritual. And guess what?
Maggie Stasik
