In this message from Proverbs 3:11–12, we conclude our series in the Book of Proverbs by exploring the "Wisdom of Godly Parenting". Pastor Casey McCall addresses the insecurities and pressures facing parents today, confronting our therapeutic culture that prioritizes immediate happiness over long-term character. Biblical wisdom, however, shows us that the ultimate goal of parenting is not our children's momentary comfort, but training them in the fear of the Lord. True, Godly parenting is modeled after our Father in heaven, whose discipline is always motivated by deep, sacrificial love. To fulfill this calling, parents are given essential tools: the powerful example of their own lives, loving and controlled discipline, and diligent everyday instruction. Ultimately, while parents cannot control or guarantee the final outcome of their children's choices, they are called to remain faithful to Jesus, resting in His grace and gospel. 🖥️ Learn more at ashlandcc.net📱 Stay connected with us on Facebook and Instagram!Subscribe for more sermons and share to encourage others!#Proverbs3 #GodlyParenting #BiblicalWisdom #FamilyDiscipleship #AshlandCommunityChurch #PastorCaseyMcCall #Gospel #FaithfulParenting

In this message from Proverbs 5:15–21, we examine the "Wisdom of Marital Devotion" and God’s design for intimacy. Pastor Casey McCall addresses a topic often avoided in the church, reminding us that if we are not discipled by the Word of God regarding marriage and sex, we will inevitably be discipled by a broken culture. Far from being a "forbidden" subject, marital intimacy is presented in Scripture as a celebratory, exclusive gift from God.By looking at the creation account in Genesis and the wisdom of Proverbs, we see that marriage is a "one-flesh" union—a total joining of souls that points directly to the mystery of Christ’s love for His church. When we choose our spouses wisely and remain intoxicated in love with them, we protect the sacred covenant God has established. Ultimately, there is hope and restoration for any who have fallen short, as Christ offers forgiveness and the power to walk in newness of life.🖥️ Learn more at ashlandcc.net📱 Stay connected with us on Facebook and Instagram!Subscribe for more sermons and share to encourage others!#Proverbs5 #Marriage #MaritalDevotion #OneFlesh #AshlandCommunityChurch

In this message from Proverbs 27:9–10, we examine the "Wisdom of Friendship" and how God uses these relationships to enrich and sharpen our lives. Pastor Casey McCall highlights that while friendship may not be a physiological necessity for survival, it is a divine gift—like "oil and perfume"—that makes the heart glad and provides sweetness through earnest counsel. True friendship, as described in Proverbs, requires more than just shared interests; it demands commitment, transparency, and a willingness to "sharpen" one another. We are called to be constant, candid, considerate, and ultimately "cruciform" friends who model our relationships after the greatest friend of all—Jesus Christ. By laying down His life for His friends, Jesus serves as both our perfect model and our eternal hope, proving that true wisdom is found in loving as He has loved us. 🖥️ Learn more at ashlandcc.net📱 Stay connected with us on Facebook and Instagram!Subscribe for more sermons and share to encourage others!#Proverbs27 #Friendship #AshlandCommunityChurch

In this message from Proverbs 6:6–11, Pastor Casey McCall challenges the common cultural view of work as a "necessary evil" or a means to an end, showing instead that work is a "necessary good" established by God before the fall of man. By looking at the example of the ant and the warnings against the "sluggard," we learn that diligence is not just a personality trait, but a moral issue of living in accordance with how the universe was designed to operate. The sermon identifies the dangers of laziness—from negative life consequences and ruined relationships to the "reality distortion" that causes us to chase fantasies rather than present faithfulness. Ultimately, we find our greatest example and hope in Jesus Christ, the master workman who fulfilled all righteousness through His life of labor and His finished work on the cross. Because of Jesus, we can find dignity and worship in our work, knowing He has redeemed us from our failures and called us to live faithfully in the fields where He has placed us.🖥️ Learn more at ashlandcc.net📱 Stay connected with us on Facebook and Instagram!Subscribe for more sermons and share to encourage others!#Proverbs6 #HardWork #BiblicalWisdom #Faithfulness #AshlandCommunityChurch #laziness #Gospel

In Proverbs 8:17–21, we explore the "wealth paradox" and the true meaning of biblical stewardship. Pastor Casey McCall explains that while the world relentlessly pursues money and material gain, wisdom teaches that seeking wealth as an ultimate goal only leads to spiritual poverty. True wealth—defined as holistic human flourishing and eternal righteousness—is found only in the person of Jesus Christ, who is the personification of Wisdom. When we order our loves correctly by putting Christ first, He transforms our relationship with material resources. Instead of using God to get wealth, we use the wealth He provides as a tool for righteousness and justice. Ultimately, our generosity is fueled by the Gospel: the reality that though Jesus was rich, for our sake He became poor so that we, through His poverty, might become truly rich.🖥️ Learn more at ashlandcc.net 📱 Stay connected with us on Facebook and Instagram! Pastor Casey McCall walks through Proverbs 8:1–9 in a sermon titled The Wisdom of Righteous Speech, exploring how wisdom shapes the way believers use their words. In a world filled with confusion, harshness, and careless communication, Scripture calls God’s people to speech that reflects truth, righteousness, and the character of Christ.Pastor Casey reminds us that our words are not neutral — they flow from the heart and reveal what we truly love and believe. Because wisdom calls publicly and clearly, believers are invited to align their speech with God’s truth and use their words to give life rather than cause harm.As the sermon concludes, Pastor Casey highlights four marks of life-giving, righteous speech:Honest SpeechFew Words (Restrained Speech)Calm SpeechApt / Appropriate SpeechUltimately, this message points believers to Christ, the perfect embodiment of wisdom, and calls us to pursue hearts transformed by the gospel so that our words reflect the life-giving wisdom of God.

In week five of our Equipped Studies series, Repentance: A Habit of Grace, Pastor Josh Crawford addresses the difficult reality many believers face in their fight against sin: what happens when we fail—and the despair that often follows.Building on passages like Romans 6 and Psalm 51, Pastor Josh reminds us that while believers are no longer enslaved to sin through Christ, the ongoing battle against it can still lead to discouragement, doubt, and a loss of hope. When repeated failure clouds our vision, it becomes easy to forget the promises of the gospel and fixate instead on our shortcomings.Through biblical teaching and practical insight, this session explores how despair operates as a subtle but powerful tool—one that shifts our focus away from Christ and onto our sin. Pastor Josh highlights several common ways this plays out, including the loss of assurance, the weight of relapse, and the temptation to measure our standing with God by how we feel rather than by what He has done.At the same time, this study offers clear and hope-filled encouragement: the gospel declares that there is no condemnation for those in Christ, and that even in failure, believers are not abandoned. True repentance is not rooted in self-condemnation, but in a humble turning back to a gracious and patient Savior.Ultimately, this session calls believers to resist despair by lifting their eyes to Christ, remembering the promises of God, and continuing the fight with confidence—not in themselves, but in the finished work of Jesus and the future victory that is guaranteed in Him.
