Jesus rose early—before daylight—after what was likely one of the busiest days of His ministry. He woke up early to meet with the Father, Simon and the others slept in. When they finally woke up, they weren’t looking for intimacy with Jesus; they were looking for Him so they could keep the crowds happy. Simon wanted to ride the momentum of public excitement more than he wanted the presence of Christ.

Authority and authority figures can stir up all kinds of feelings and emotions. But when it comes to Jesus and His authority, we should find comfort. And in one day we see Jesus' authority on display in 3 different ways.
