I did, I did. We did A little Sway reunion. Pretty tight. Everyone came to the crib, which was fun. We've been trying to plan that since like I was planning the fire stream. So that's been like a long time coming. But it was awesome. It was sick to do a little stream, have a bunch of, you know, like, I feel like OG fans getting to really appreciate that and have fun with that. And now we're talking about where do we go from here? Like, do we start doing a little bit more in like the live streaming area? I don't think all the boys will always come through for every stream, but I do think there's like a majority of that group that wants to start doing fun streams. Like three day, four day, five day streams. We talked about doing like Sway Seas where we go out in the water and like we're on a boat for like five days and like, we only eat what we catch. We only like survive off of like, you know, being survivalists. We talked about going to Japan to do a stream. We talked about doing Brazil. We're talking about doing a camping stream. Yeah, we got a lot of stuff.

Well, you guys are. Got a lot of streams to do.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. We want to do like Calgary stampede. We want to do like an igloo stream, like go to like Alaska or something crazy.

Well, I have a lot of questions about the Sway stream that just happened.

Okay. So obviously the elephant in the room, Jaden joined the stream.

Yes. Yeah.

And. Okay, there was so. Okay, where do I begin? So Jaden joined the stream and you guys like, hugs. You kind of talked it out. You had a little sit down moment. Was it all very genuine? How did you feel? Do you feel like you got what you needed out of the conversation?

[Josh Richards]

Yeah, yeah. I mean, I think it's. It's kinda. I might sound like redundant or sound like I'm saying the same thing that I said on the stream. But I think it was a. It was like a closure experience, I guess in a way or like a good way just to come full circle. But I think that, I think that like it was good for the boys to be able to get that out. But I think more, at least how I felt about it, I felt like more. It was kind of for the people that watched us on a daily basis and, like, support us so much and, like, got us to where we are in our, you know, separate careers to, like, give back to that more than anything else. That's what that. To me, the whole stream was about, like, getting to give back to the audience that made Sway possible and everything. So I think it was cool. I think it was good.

So after the stream, you were like, y'all, that was just for the fans. I still hate you, Jaden.

[Josh Richards]

No, no, that's not what I'm saying. Way to put words in my mouth. No, no, no. I think it's just like, I said it on the. In one of the clips. Like, I think the toughest part about the entire situation was, like, not necessarily losing a girlfriend or something like that, but more losing a best friend at that age is tough because you don't make a lot of more best friends after the age of 21. You know, you kind of have your best friends that you've grown up with, because there's a aspect of being a best friend with someone that you need to have a history. Right? Like, that's part of being a best friend. You have those inside jokes. You've known each other for a long time. Yeah. You can still make close friends, and you might even make one or. Or two more people that you consider a best friend. But typically those people that you have in that college relationship or those college years, which was, like, my Sway experience, those are those people that you, you know, still see when you're 40 or you still have, like, these, like, meetups every year and go hang out with them. So I think that was the toughest part about it all. Like, knowing that'll never get to a hundred percent again is probably, like, the. The tough part about it, because, you know, there's obviously a part of me that's like, man, I wish we all could be Sway again, or, like, all just be friends again and all go get to hang out and do whatever. But there's never gonna be a time where, like, you know, there's not something, like, in the back of my head or a voice in the back of my head being like, oh, you got to be careful. Got to be careful. Gotta be. You know what I'm saying?

I mean, I can relate to that so much. I'm the best friend breakup queen. And it sucks because, like you said, with best friends, there's so much history there, and you're. You don't feel like you can really recreate the magic. But then it's like, even if you do amend things. Like, it's never fully gonna be the same.

[Josh Richards]

Yeah. Yeah. So, like, you know, I. I feel like I was able to do this dream, and, like, I'm so past anything that, like, I guess I would say happened to me or anything that happened in that house, because I'm just so content with my life, you know, I'm so happy with where I'm at. I'm so happy with who I have in my life, who. Who I've surrounded myself with, like, the person that I've become and I'm still growing into and. And becoming. And I have an amazing girl in my corner that's, you know, my biggest fan and always supporting me, and I. I'm doing the same for her and trying to do that more and more. So it's like, I. I have so many good things. There's not enough room to, like, hold, like, some grudge. There's not enough room. Like, there. There's no need for that. There's no need for that. So that's. That's really how I looked at it all was just. What's the point of, like, having this, like, hostility or this, you know, thing eating at me when I. I have so many things to be blessed for and, like, enjoy and be grateful for, and, you know, that's from my personal life to work life to everything family, like, people are in. In good health. Everything's great. So it's like, nothing. Nothing to be too concerned about.

Yeah. You know, trying to grow up. Trying to grow up. Even though some people still call me, you know, a little brother that is picking their nose or whatever, but, you know, whatever.

And we're like, yeah, Landon's also, like, a friend of mine.

And then she'll, like, try to come back to herself and then make crazy sounds and crazy faces and. Yeah, she's just out of her mind. And that brings me to Brie Olsen on the live stream. What the hell was up with that?

Not too much of my girl Gabby. Not too much on my girl Gabby. She said that she's going to bitch slap Gabby. She's going to slap Gabby. The only thing thing that's getting slapped is her ass behind bars from child protection services. Go take care of your not. What did Gabby do to you? What did Gabby do besides sit there and look pretty?

And first of all, I'm sorry you've never seen a healthy relationship, but, you know, when two people really enjoy each other's company, they typically stay close together. She wasn't following me around. She's enjoying my company. I hadn't seen her.

I didn't see her for three days. All right, so you better just watch yourself. I know you don't know what a healthy relationship is, but that's what it looks like. That's what. When two people are in love, that's what they look like. So anyways, yeah, we were there. We're at Saddle Ranch, and I. I just go to walk. Walk outside, and we have, you know, like, the Saddle has always been good to the Sway boys. The owner there, everyone there, they've always been really good to us. So we thought, why not end the Sway reunion stream with going to Saddle Ranch?

I thought it was like, you know, the boys had brought it up and. And we were all like, yeah, let's do this. Like, this is a cool little way to, you know, end this. Actually, I had my friend Johnny GW text me and was like, yo, we saw you doing the Sway Stream. If you guys want to come to Saddle Pull through, like, you still have, like, your black card there. Because I had gotten a black card at Saddle Ranch one time.

Oh, my God, that is so LA influencer. You have a black card to Saddle Ranch?

Yeah. And they put, like, something crazy, like 10,000, $15,000 on this card. So, like, God, you just. So that's that. So shout out Saddle, first of all. But we're there, and, you know, they. They give us this big middle table like that we're sitting at, because we have a huge group with us. We're like, productions, all their crews, all that. Everyone's there. And I'm walking through, and she, like, shouts out some comment along the lines of, you know, like, if y'all keep walking into my table, y'all gonna have to buy me drinks. Oh, no, we don't. Not doing that. So we just kind of kept walking. And I told Anthony, you know, that same thing I just told you. Like, oh, we walked by and this random person, like, had the idea.

We didn't know, we didn't even know who she was until we got the down low of Ash Trevino two episodes ago. One episode ago. Because the whole Internet was talking about her. So we, like, I watched a documentary on her on YouTube so that I could fill you in because the whole Internet was talking about her. And then like, I briefly, I think they talked a little bit about Brie Olsen in that, but like, no, yeah, yeah. Like, we didn't know who she was. And I didn't really know who she was until this live stream when she said she was going to slap you and Gabby. So, like, oh, she was. When I was the live stream? Yeah, Yeah, I knew you didn't because you didn't know who Ash. When I was explaining as Trevino, I still barely knew and you were clueless. So, like, you didn't know who she was at the stream then. There's no world where Gabby knew who she was during the stream.

You know, I don't even, I had literally zero idea. So, I mean, still wasn't a fan when I didn't know her. And so, you know, I tell Anthony, like, I'm like some random person asked her to drink, like, what the hell? And then I, I make a joke to Anthony and I was like, I was like, first of all, like, we're out in public, put some clothes on, you know what I'm saying? And then he told me the story. I, I, I don't really remember. I, I honestly just, I think I just had a few bevs in me and I was getting a little, I was just like a little mean. I was in a mode, you know.

He's really old. Weird matchup. It'd be weird for us to be friends. And so we kind of went off that and called it BFFs, because it's like we were the opposite of that. We didn't know each other at all.

When we started the podcast, and then you guys. When did you guys get together?

And then Bree joined in, like, four weeks into the start of the podcast. It wasn't like there was something missing when we were doing it. Just me and Dave. We needed the female perspective is what it was. So then Bri came in. Podcast flow was way better.

Um, it. It wasn't really. It was definitely. It was a lot of fun. It was super exciting. But the main problem I had was I kind of got everything connected and. And I got every person that was around me from, like, the same period. And it was like, this fast, and I didn't have any time to settle and pick people like, that I wanted around me, you know? So that, like, gave me the problem of being afraid to let people go around me, even though I'm like, okay, this is rand its course. You know what I mean? Is your team helping you out? Are you having to go behind the team's back a little bit, post it? Like, what's that look like?

I've never had to go behind anyone's back. I kind of just do my own thing, and my team kind of helps me out a lot here and there. Like, I'm very much in charge of my own storyline and My own story, and I want to kind of, like, keep it that way, no matter, like, what's happening. Even, like, in, like, my down days of just like, oh, I'm not sure exactly what to do, but I know I don't want to do what you want me to do, so. Yeah. Yeah.

And then, blah, blah, blah, doobity doo doo, 13th song. Then I'm the Horseman and.

And then getting calls from every label in the same week.

Yeah, because I feel like you really were in the middle of this, like, perfect storm where, like, Covet was going on. Tick Tock was becoming massive. And then, because you were one of the first people that I think had their music go so viral on Tick Tock to a point where it was like, yeah, right, because there was, like, a couple people. But you really, I think, also used that. Like, there was the Arizona song or guy as well that had something blow up. But, like, I don't think he capitalized on it the same way you did. A negative. Not in a negative. It just look at that. Look at the statistics. You know what I'm saying? Like, you were able to go on and, like, continue to capitalize on this. And I think to your point, you understood the meme memation of it. All, right? Like, you were able to go and take that song, put it into so many different places on Tik Tok, that starts blowing up and trending on there as Tick Tock is starting to trend. Like, we continue to say on this, like, you grow up online, people are going to see change, and they got to realize that. I feel like sometimes people don't realize how young the artists are that they follow or how, like, new to the space or the environment that they are, and they want to, like, judge them on that one action or a couple actions. Right. When they begin. You got to let people evolve. Or else what? What is the point of. Yeah, any of this. Right. Isn't that what we're all trying to do is evolve and become better people and learn who we are and be happy in this world, like, 1 million percent.

Yeah. I definitely get it, too, though. You know, like, a lot of people's, like, perception of me, it's based off of the things they know me for the most and Fair. Yeah. And that's what a lot of people know me for. And I Can't, like, be like, oh, no. How do they know me for this? Because I did those things. I don't regret doing those things. I guess you'll see that more once you see more of the rollout and stuff, but also just like, Nicki Minaj, who. Who I actually, like, had a fan account and stuff for.

What was it like to get invited to the Met Gala for the first time?

It was sick. I was wondering what they were going to do. I was like, is this where we're going to, like, drink the baby blood or something? Is this the actual thing that happens there? But yeah, it was really. It was really dope, though. I never expected to get to such a spot like that so fast, you know?

I mean, it was like, overnight, I feel. You were just like, at the Met Gala.

[Dave Portnoy]

Yeah, I was just like, oh, I'm doing the Met again. This is cool. And I'm naked for some reason, and I'm meow. I'm only meowing. I thought they would never invite me after that again. I was. I was like, yeah, they're not. I'm like, I'm not getting here next year. But you were. Behold.

I think that's, like, what the Met is, is to get those, like, insane moments out of it like what? Jared Leto with the, with the cat. He was a cat one year.

So yeah, 100%, you got to do. I don't know what it's going to make people entertained, I guess. You know, also stuff that you want to do. I wanted to do that. I wanted to do that mainly because I was like in this era of like, like, like that, like that whole like 2023, 2022. I was like, okay, I want to do things that I'm going to feel scared to do and feel embarrassed about and I want to go through with it anyway because I want to like train myself to be okay and embarrassing, anxiety ridden, like, situations. And it's helped me a lot. Yeah. You know that.

[Brianna Chickenfry]

So yeah, that's hard to do. And we were talking fucking hard a little bit before, like we started podcasting. We were talking about like, you have a lot of anxiety and you're just like pushing yourself to. You're basically giving yourself more anxiety. But it's helping, you're saying.

[Dave Portnoy]

But that's the thing though. I feel like my anxiety has decreased so much over the past year. Like it takes time to like get over the hump. But I feel like I'm very much like, you know, far more, more far along than I was before. You know what I mean?

[Brianna Chickenfry]

Yeah.

Like even just like right now, I wasn't able to, like, talk in interviews, like, freely as before. I guess I was just like, oh, I don't want to slip up and say like the wrong shit. But now I'm just like, hey, if I do, I'll be fine. I'll figure it out. I mean, I've been through worse shit. You know what I mean?

[Josh Richards]

Yeah, for sure.

Yeah.

Well, you're doing a great job so far talking well.

I know, it's great that. So you would say just like pushing yourself into maybe like, anxiety ridden situations has helped you, like, get over those humps. Because I think a lot of people struggle with anxiety. And to hear like someone of your stature also struggled with it, like, you can help a lot of people.

[Dave Portnoy]

Yeah, I think, I think it's very important to do, but also still give yourself space when it feels like just way too much. Yeah. Like, back the fuck up and go and sit down and breathe. But I do a lot of, like, talking to myself, like actually like talking to myself out loud and say, okay, what is wrong? Why do you feel this way? Who are you afraid to be embarrassed in front of right now? What are you so shy about right now? And then it's like, you got to come back to the idea that we're all, like, shy. We all get embarrassed, we all get self conscious. The prettiest people, the most talented people, the, the most, you know, star athletes, the most, like, braggadoci, like, type of people, Everybody. It's impossible. And I'm not saying that, oh, my anxiety's gone. I'm free. You know, I still get anxiety, but I just, I know how to handle it better now.

Yeah.

So, yeah, I need to try that.

Like, talking out loud because it almost makes you feel, like, silly. It's like, why? Who are you afraid to be embarrassed of right now?

[Dave Portnoy]

Like, I feel like it's really you talking to, like, your inner child. You know what I mean? Because it's like a lot of the stuff you're afraid of, all this stuff, like, stems from your childhood. So it's like, hey, little me, what. What are you afraid of right now? What makes you shy about this thing? You know, even with that video that you said you saw, you know what I mean? For a minute I was scared to be more, like flamboyant and stuff. And it's like, oh, because I don't want to feel, like, embarrassed in front of this group of people and that. And it was like, so I don't, I don't care anymore. It's like I'm like, You okay to do it? I give myself. I literally go in the mirror. I'm like, I give you permission to do it. I give you permission to look and be embarrassed about that thing. Just go through with it.

Yeah, that's something that I always think of, too. Like, when we're children. When we're kids, we're, like, so fearless. We're not afraid of anything, nothing. We're everything that we want to be in. You think, like, you get older just because of age, but it's because as you get older, like, it's the society pressures on you. So all that we're thinking about is, like, is this society pressure. So just take yourself out of it. I'm a kid again. I can do it all. I'm not scared. So. Yeah, that's. That's good advice.

Because, you know, these last few years have been, like, really, like, tough for me, like, trying to figure out, okay, like, what the fuck do I do here? Where am I going? Who are my people? What do I want around me? What the fuck don't I want around me? And. And I had, like, really, like. I fell into, like, this relationship, and I was, like, in this really great relationship. And I felt like, you know, this is everything. I am so in love, and I still do love the person. And then, you know, I realized that it was at a place where this person kind of, like, also was filling the void of the external validation I was usually getting from the world. And once we, like, broke up, it was, like, really hard. And I literally almost missed the video shoot. I skipped the plane. I wasn't going to go.

For the single.

Yeah. For the song and the video. I fucking love it. It's fucking tea. I know the world's gonna love it, but it was gonna be. I wasn't gonna be there. Cause it was shot in a completely different country. And because I, like, spent, like, four days at home, like, crying and bawling my eyes out and just trying to get myself together. And I'm just like, you know what? I know it's been really hard, and I know you want to give up. Let's just. Let's just go, and whatever happens, happens. And so I went there and I. I got there and shot the video, and things have Been, like, pretty much on and up since then. You know what I mean? It was like that darkest hour before dawn kind of moment. You know what I mean?

It took. Took me. I feel like it took a few weeks. And it was also kind of like I was still, like, contacting the person for a minute, and then, you know, I was like, okay, we just need to, like, not talk at all, because.

Yeah. And then. That makes all the sense.

Then it's kind of like, hey, if that happened to you, maybe there's something better on the way for you, you know, because that's happened to me multiple times in life. It was like, oh, I'm fucking up in college. Oh, here's fucking music. And it's like, okay, I came out the closet. I'm not sure what to do. Well, let's put it into the music. You know, it's like, continuously, like, trying to make the best out of a situation that now looks grim.

Yeah, well, it's like stepping stones sometimes. It really is. And it depends on how you look at it. Like, you could have been like, I'm not doing the video shoot. I'm gonna cry. I'm a bitch. My heart's broken. Or you can be.

I wasn't gone willingly, but while I was gone, I understand why the universe had me where I was, you know, And I really needed a lot of time to sit with myself and reflect on what I wanted and how I wanted to move forward and what I truly love and what I don't. And I felt like I was doing for everybody else. So moving forward. I'm making sure my self love is number one on my list before any of this other shit. And I'm excited and I know it's going to be grand and it's going to be big and it's going to be full of dreams being fulfilled and it's going to be full of love.
