Some people receive God’s grace in vain. It is possible to hear about grace, agree with it, and identify as a believer in the finished work of Jesus Christ while still resisting what grace was intended to produce.

In 2 Corinthians 6, Paul warns believers not to receive God’s grace “toward an empty result.” Grace is freely given, but genuine grace produces reconciliation, faithful character, holiness, and undivided allegiance to God.

This teaching examines Paul’s warning to the Corinthian church, the difference between worldly success and godly faithfulness, and what it means to be unequally yoked with unbelievers. The issue is not simply whether someone claims to believe the gospel. The issue is whether that person is willing to come out of worldliness and walk in holiness before God.
