Riley Bray
Yeah.
Michael McMillan
How are you, Riley? I'm.
Riley Bray
I'm, you know, I'm good. Yeah. I feel like I always qualify, all things considered, but we're all living in the same shared reality, but, you know.
Michael McMillan
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well. Well, you know, there's the thing about. Actually, I read this thing that, like, reality is actually not shared. It's sort of based on, you know, like, the stuff that you're thinking about.
Riley Bray
Have you read the Fountainhead?
Michael McMillan
Hey, some. Some dude named Ayn Rand getting it. Have you read this dude? Ayn Rand?
Riley Bray
He's got some good ideas.
Michael McMillan
I'm getting a little too California with it. I gotta kind of pull it back a little bit. But. Hey, guys.
Riley Bray
Hey. Yeah, yeah. Keep a cash. Keep that lean in there.
Michael McMillan
Yeah. You gotta kind of have to act like you've got a little crick in.
Riley Bray
Your neck, you know, Sells it. Yeah. If you're not watching this, you're missing out.
Michael McMillan
You really are missing out, man.
Riley Bray
This is.
Michael McMillan
This is who I am now. I'm. I'm just a few weeks away from 47, and I've started doing my new workout app. I'm doing a calisthenics every day, and I've just been reading up on testosterone and what it's like to just be a bit more grounded, you know? I'm like, ten toes down now.
Riley Bray
You know what I mean? Ten toes down, my guy. Ten toes down.
Michael McMillan
Just call me ten to Mikey. Ten toes.
Riley Bray
Mikey Tentos. That's what we call it him. Ever since he started his calisthenics app.
Michael McMillan
Hey, you know, 10. 10 fingers, 10 toes all down.
Riley Bray
That's right.
Michael McMillan
10 toes.
Riley Bray
We all got the same 10 fingers. 10 times.
Michael McMillan
I'm kind of attracted to whoever this person is. I kind of want to become him.
Riley Bray
You got to write them into one of your novels.
Michael McMillan
Yeah. Mikey, ten toes. Hey, I'm looking for Dr. Tanya Lake. If anyone's seen. Gotta find a finder.
Riley Bray
Gotta get those toes checked.
Michael McMillan
I'm a botanist. I'm a botanist in this one, like his care, his character is telling the reader what role he is. In that book, I'm a botanist in this one. In this book, I'm a botanist. And the other one, I was just like, I was a day trader, but now I'm a botanist.
Riley Bray
That's how casual Mikey Tentos keeps it. He tells you right in the book what he is. Yeah.
Michael McMillan
I'm auditioning for the new season of Bachelorette. You know, my friends put me up to it. They signed me up, didn't want to do it. Sure. But it's like my. All my. All my buddies down at Tanner, you know, the bar they're going to, they just signed me up. Yeah, we'll see what happens. I don't really care. People are like, no, no notes.
Riley Bray
No notes.
Michael McMillan
What. What show is this? Or they're like, what is this?
Riley Bray
Yeah, this is somebody's first episode. Hi. Welcome.
Michael McMillan
Hi. You were at a wedding not too long ago at a haunted hotel.
Riley Bray
I. Yes. Is it.
Michael McMillan
Yeah.
Riley Bray
Is it haunted there?
Michael McMillan
The Madonna in, I think is pretty haunted. I mean, it's like, it's definitely. I got to really pull out of this voice. I think it's one of those.
Riley Bray
That guy was at the other. There were two weddings that. He was at the other wedding.
Michael McMillan
Oh, really?
Riley Bray
Oh, yeah.
Michael McMillan
Were they doing a lot of like, guys standing around the swimming pool in their suits, like, toasting to the groom who's like, on the diving board just kind of like shrugging as he jumps in the air, like, I'm about to do it, Said it was a bad idea, but I'm jumping in with my suit on. I don't care.
Riley Bray
Get a pig. In a sense. In a sense. But yeah. No, the wedding was amazing. It was our friends. They're. They're both just very, like, tattooed, amazing looking people. This is like the coolest crowd they got. They were. The officiant was Elvis, you know, it was just like, it.
Michael McMillan
Was it a good Elvis?
Riley Bray
It was a pretty good Elvis, Yeah. And the Elvis got surprisingly deep all of a sudden. He was like, quoting Goethe and I was like, damn, Elvis.
Michael McMillan
Is he quoting Goethe in an Elvis?
Riley Bray
No. Like, yeah, kind of. Yeah, yeah. He stayed in character, and I was like, elvis is making me feel okay.
Michael McMillan
That's cool.
Riley Bray
But it was a beautiful wedding. It was so much fun. We stayed there for a couple nights. The Madonna Inn is a kooky place.
Michael McMillan
It is a kooky place. Did they have, like, Halloween decorations up? Do they do that? I know Christmas. They go all out.
Riley Bray
Oh, they do that. Yeah. But no, no, but I mean, it's like. I mean, if you've never been there, it's. It's this. It's this rather actually large hotel that was built in the mid-50s by these very eccentric people. And, like, every room is different. And, you know, the ballroom is all these, like, pink vinyl booths with, like, crazy floral patterns, and it's just like, kind of like. It looks like Lynchian in there, I would say would be a word for it. But also kind of like Snow White, like, fairy tale kind of vibe. I don't know. It was really fun. We stayed in the tack room, which was like a. A red leather sort of barn room.
Michael McMillan
Oh, I've never actually stayed there, so I haven't been in any of their themed rooms.
Riley Bray
It was my. Well, I stayed there one time for a gig when I was in slow. But, yeah, it's my first time, like, really staying there and, like, using the pool and stuff. It was. It was very fun.
Michael McMillan
Oh, I haven't even seen the pool. I love the little cafe with the crystal goblets you can get and the pies.
Riley Bray
Hey, hey.
Michael McMillan
All right.
Riley Bray
On.
Michael McMillan
Look at that. Ready to go. He's got props, everybody. Whoa. Do you have two of those?
Riley Bray
No, I just moved. It was classic misdirection.
Michael McMillan
Yeah. What was that? Were we doing that on this episode of. Was it this show that I had the Lisa Simpson, you thought I had two in each hand, or was that somebody else's podcast?
Riley Bray
That sounds like you were on another podcast.
Michael McMillan
I don't. Let's not talk about it. Quick. Club housekeeping. Everybody head over to the merch shop. Because of. As of this last week, actually, I want to remind everybody that the old school BCC logo by Little Friends of Printmaking has made a return on our merch shop. Saw some people saying that they never got that one, that they wanted it. It's very fun. It's kind of inspired by the Mickey Mouse Club logo, except you have a Bigfoot walking out of a portal, and that will be up on the shop through the fall. I'm gonna say it's get. You know, through the fall. It's a fall. It's a fall piece.
Riley Bray
Yeah.
Michael McMillan
So you can get it through the fall.
Riley Bray
It's a fall vibe.
Michael McMillan
It's a fall vibe. It's got orange and yellows and stuff in it. Not saying that's gonna be the only merch showing up. Stay tuned. Next week we might have a big surprise for you because reminder, terrifying tales from zombie Bigfoot's cryptic crypt is just around the corner.
Riley Bray
Oh, yeah.
Michael McMillan
About to go into our official Halloween.
Riley Bray
Monster season is upon us.
Michael McMillan
Yeah. Just don't forget about our shop over on fourth wall. Episode links in the show notes. Keep your eyes. Keep your eyes looking. Keep your fingers clicking and clacking and keep your heads poking through some T shirt holes.
Riley Bray
And thanks for all the summer merch y' all bought.
Michael McMillan
Yes.
Riley Bray
And seems like fourth wall's working out. We're all liking this one the best.
Michael McMillan
Yeah, I've. I got store so far. I got my wet hot alien tea. I got my big summer vacation big strange vacation tea, and I'm really liking the quality. I'm digging the fit. I'm very happy with it. And you know what I realized I'm going to do? I'm going to get a. Like a sweatshirt or a hoodie with the old school logo on it, so.
Riley Bray
Old BCC logo. Yeah.
Michael McMillan
Can I do that? All right. Should we get into shenanigans?
Riley Bray
Yeah, let's shenan.
Michael McMillan
We're having a loosey goosey episode this week. We're wrapping up September with an an L Files episode. But before we do that, I thought, you know, it's been a couple weeks. Let's check back in and see where what our big furry friend has been up to in the last month or two. That's right, everybody. It's time for another installment of where in the world is Bigfoot?
Riley Bray
San Diego. Mikey, you did it.
Michael McMillan
Mike Tantos went to USD private college. I'm not religious, but.
Riley Bray
I don't.
Michael McMillan
Is USC in a religious school? I don't even know.
Riley Bray
I don't know. Yeah, not ucsd, to be clear.
Michael McMillan
No, no, no. Not ucs. Private college study marine biology, you know, and biology. Marion. Biology. Yeah. Dated this woman named Marianne.
Riley Bray
That's where we're going with that. Yep, yep, yep.
Michael McMillan
So this is a fun one. I had no idea this was going on. And we might have a new character here. I don't know. Not like we've got my key 10 toes. We got a new character, but I.
Riley Bray
Mean, like, give it to one per episode.
Michael McMillan
I just want you to click on this link in the doc. I'm gonna Put this up on the show. Notes. Go to. Go to. Actually just go down to the bottom there. Bigfootremains.com okay. Because apparently a man by the name of Snake has found Bigfoot's body in the Adirondacks. Charles Snake Stewart found what he claims is a Bigfoot corpse in the Adirondack woods last October. He's displaying the body for the first time in the horticulture building at the 2025 New York State Fair. Now this happened at the beginning of September, so we're a little behind the times here, but are you looking, Are you getting a sense of.
Riley Bray
I'm, I've already dug deep in. This man has never been photographed without his signature sunglasses.
Michael McMillan
No.
Riley Bray
Not one single photo.
Michael McMillan
No. And I can't tell how much Charles Snake Stewart is putting us on with this look, but it can only be described as being Bigfoot hunter. Tiger king is kind of like the vibe he's going for.
Riley Bray
Yeah.
Michael McMillan
There's some camo, there's some neon. There's those big glasses and then reflective.
Riley Bray
Wraparounds, cowboy hat with a sort of Navajo kind of hat band kind of vibe.
Michael McMillan
And he claims that he found a Bigfoot body in a pile of poison ivy in a grove of poison ivy. And he has named the body the corpse Dak.
Riley Bray
Okay.
Michael McMillan
And he says if it looks fake, it's because they at. They had to taxidermy the body because it was a rotting corpse and he's had it for a while. So like, he's like, it's, it's a. It's taxidermied, but it is a corpse. I think we've seen this thing before. I think this is the Hank Dialer Bigfoot that he had. I feel like this is the same. I mean, guys, it's not really Bigfoot. What I can't tell, obviously, what I can't tell is how much of a bit this guy is doing or if he's really trying to be a modern day P.T. barnum. So I'll read you the story. This is from. Let's see, what article did I pull up here? This is. I don't know. I don't even know what this. Searching for bigfoot. Oh, this. Syracuse.com. okay.
Riley Bray
Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's this page I'm on now too.
Michael McMillan
So this from August 22, 2025, so over a month ago. Bigfoot is real. And for the price of admission to the 2025 New York State Fair, you can see his dead body, Bigfoot's preserved corpse, all furry, eight feet of him rests in plexiglass and plywood coffin on the first floor of the horticulture building. If you're taking the kids to the butterfly tent.
Riley Bray
Perfect.
Michael McMillan
The exhibit is right around the corner. Trust me. I want to see the butterflies. Trust us, your kid.
Riley Bray
Just a minute. Daddy needs to see something first.
Michael McMillan
Yes, dad, come for the Bring your kids to the butterflies. Dad, stay for the Bigfoot body. Trust us, your kids will get a bigger kick out of one dead Bigfoot than a hundred live butterflies. You know, Riley, I've always said I'd rather have one dead Bigfoot than a hundred pretty butterflies.
Riley Bray
You know, that's. That's actually not a bad. Not a bad.
Michael McMillan
Say, when we visited on the first day of the fair, Charles Snake Stewart, the guy who runs the exhibit, was letting people gawk at Bigfoot's body for free. He even gave visitors I saw Bigfoot buttons. Okay, liking the guy. The exhibit is decorated like a basement from the 70s, the period of peak Bigfoot hysteria. Wood paneling, mood lighting, spooky soundtrack, and William Shatner on TV talking in grave tones about Bigfoot from a script Stewart paid him to read. So this guy has got connections.
Riley Bray
Wow.
Michael McMillan
Stuart says he was pretty easy to get. I have a friend who's related to him and plus, he's into the paranormal sci fi world.
Riley Bray
Nice.
Michael McMillan
Born and raised in Fulton, Stewart, 42, now resides in the Adirondack town of Saranac. At the fair, he's adopted the appearance of a semi pro wrestler who let his gym membership expire.
Riley Bray
Burn. Syracuse.com.
Michael McMillan
Stewart's lanky frame is covered head to toe in camouflage, face hidden behind a beard and wraparound mirrored shades. Tufts of bleach blonde hair stick out from beneath a Bigfoot Bigfoot's Remains ball cap that still has the store tag dangling from it.
Riley Bray
No notes. Fashion icon.
Michael McMillan
Everyone here has been loving the big boy. Really enjoying hearing the story. Stuart said. We're thrilled about it, honestly. Stick around the exhibit long enough and you're certainly here. Fellow fair goers confess to Stewart's thrilling details about their own brushes with Bigfoot. And I gotta tell you, whatever it was I heard 20 years ago, it went right through me, said a father from Old Forge who came by with his two young children who wanted to see butterflies. The father shivered and said, oh, I still get chills just thinking about it. Yep, Stuart said with a knowing nod. Stuart is easygoing for a Bigfoot hunter. When you wander into the exhibit, he leaves you in peace to contemplate Bigfoot's bacalum Or penis bone sitting inside a display case. Now, this doesn't seem appropriate.
Riley Bray
Hold on, hold on. Maybe we should have just brought the kids to the butterfly tent.
Michael McMillan
But if you have questions, he's happy to answer them. Nothing is off limits. Well, clearly.
Riley Bray
Wait a minute.
Michael McMillan
No hard sell. Take it or leave it. There is a photo here of a very concerned boy looking up at his mother, pointing at the Bigfoot corpse as snake, like, lingers a little too close over the family.
Riley Bray
Also, his appearance is so sort of outlandish and bright that he. He almost looks photoshopped in every photo.
Michael McMillan
He does? Yeah.
Riley Bray
He. He's just sort of placed in there.
Michael McMillan
He's like second generation AI Generative.
Riley Bray
Yeah, yeah.
Michael McMillan
You know what I mean?
Riley Bray
Appearance to him.
Michael McMillan
If you look closely, his. His fingers are all up. Like, they don't. He's got too many fingers on each hand.
Riley Bray
Yes. There's an uncanny valley about snake that I. It's hard to get around.
Michael McMillan
Okay, so I'm gonna pause here in the story where. Okay, what do you think is happening here?
Riley Bray
I think this man is. Is doing a bit, and I. You know what? I respect him for it. Is he you ghost Nick?
Michael McMillan
Is he. Is he a guy like us who's putting on a character, Putting on the thing, or is he really this guy?
Riley Bray
I think he. I. It feels like a kind of like Charlie Kaufman kind of thing or something.
Michael McMillan
It does.
Riley Bray
Does he beats both? Like, I don't know. I mean, either this guy is maybe. Maybe this guy's a genius, or maybe he's just.
Michael McMillan
Yeah, he's like the Andy Kaufman of.
Riley Bray
Of the Bigfoot world.
Michael McMillan
Yeah.
Riley Bray
Yeah.
Michael McMillan
Okay.
Riley Bray
I have no idea, but I mean, this is hilarious. And I mean, you've never seen someone more committed to the bit than. Than old Snake here. No.
Michael McMillan
I want to see how. And also Snake clearly.
Riley Bray
Also. I. I do. I know we've spent a lot of time on this article already, but it does give. Okay. Of how he got this.
Michael McMillan
This is why I'm pausing.
Riley Bray
Really?
Michael McMillan
That's. I'm pausing.
Riley Bray
That's my. I need to know more.
Michael McMillan
Okay, so now we're getting to the backstory.
Riley Bray
Yeah. I need to know how this man came upon and taxidermied body.
Michael McMillan
The broad outlines of the story go like this. Last October, Stuart was back country camping in the Adirondacks north of Old Forge when he traced a foul stench to Bigfoot's rotting corpse. He took Bigfoot's body to a garage in Saranac where his friend who dabbled in taxidermy.
Riley Bray
See, that's where too much has been skipped. I'm like, you can't take me from back country in the Adirondacks to now. You've brought this. You have this body in a garage. I need the story.
Michael McMillan
There's a video on Bigfoot remains.com where he says he found it in a patch of. Of poison ivy. And then he, he dragged the body out of the woods and took it. Took it to his friends. Basically took it to this garage.
Riley Bray
See, that's what I'm. If you found a body in the backcountry, do you think that your first move would be take it to a garage? A friend's garage?
Michael McMillan
Yeah. Take it to your buddy's garage.
Riley Bray
In Poison Oak, no less.
Michael McMillan
Months later, Stewart drove his disemboweled Bigfoot to Rochester to air out his uncle's house.
Riley Bray
Jesus Christ.
Michael McMillan
Wait, we're not getting. There are missing parts of the story. Now Dak, as Stewart has nicknamed him, is on public view for the first time at the fair. Stewart wants to raise enough money to have the body scientifically authenticated as a Neanderthal human hybrid. The proper Cornell DNA lab has already dismissed what I'm saying. Stewart said. But I went through their veterinarian lab.
Riley Bray
Oh, have they, Stuart?
Michael McMillan
This is the other part. He claims that he has DNA that no one can identify.
Riley Bray
He does. Himself. Yes.
Michael McMillan
And those lab results, Stewart claims show that Dax DNA is mostly Neanderthal. He didn't have the lab paperwork with him to show.
Riley Bray
Bummer.
Michael McMillan
But he's thinking about releasing the information before the fair ends.
Riley Bray
Okay.
Michael McMillan
More than anything, Stewart said he'd like to prove wrong all the so called Bigfoot experts and computer jockeys online calling him out as a fraud. Ooh, I love it. Now he's picking up fight with them. Because I'm the big dog, he said.
Riley Bray
Oh my God, I love this guy.
Michael McMillan
I got the Bigfoot. And they can talk, talk, talk, but I'm the real deal. I'm the real show. I'm looking forward to that. And also proving my ex wife wrong.
Riley Bray
I cannot believe that that is in the actual quote.
Michael McMillan
Yes, searching for Bigfoot, it turns out, can be hard on a marriage. Stewart's ex wife didn't even like to camp, so it was probably doomed from the start. But for now, he and his two boys are enjoying the ride. I told them you're gonna be carny kids all summer, he said. So I think they're excited. So who killed Dak? Two young men strutted into the exhibit, eyeballed Bigfoot's corpse for half a second, then pulled out their phones to take pictures. What happened? One of them sneered without taking his eyes off his phone. He was dead when I found him, stewart said. He was decomposing. We had to rip some of its guts out and try to salvage it, taxidermy style. This is where we found his reproductive bone, which is a sexual adaptation to help him procreate. Guys, I am not making this up. This is on syracuse.com. this man brought this to the New York State Fair.
Riley Bray
Oh, the penis bone surprise. Like, it's like a boner, you know, but like a. It's like a bone for Bigfoot is like a real bone.
Michael McMillan
Yeah. Yes, exactly. It was more information than the teens. He's talking to teenagers. We're prepared to absorb Cool, they said uncertainly.
Riley Bray
I think that was more like cool.
Michael McMillan
Cool, stuart continued, hands in pockets, leaning against the wall like a bored high school biology teacher. They don't really create family units, he said. They usually only produce just to reproduce. We theorize there was a battle that happened when he was trying to mate with an older, wiser Bigfoot lady, and that's when blows started happening. And that's when he perished. There was a pause as the young men processed the scene Stuart described, and then they looked at each other and snorted with laughter. Stuart laughed right along with them. Look at the close up of these Styrofoam feet.
Riley Bray
Yeah, it's really something.
Michael McMillan
After the teen scurried out of the exhibit, Stuart poured a handful of peanuts into his mouth.
Riley Bray
You know, a little human moment that finally broke you.
Michael McMillan
He'd already spent $17 on a sausage sandwich and was trying to save money. I was hoping Kate Kathy Hochul would have come by. I saw her over there eating cookies early.
Riley Bray
Christopher Guest, who wrote this.
Michael McMillan
He gazed up and down the empty aisle as William Shatner's voice echoed in repeat. God, this Give this article a Pulitzer.
Riley Bray
Truly.
Michael McMillan
One photo op with the Bigfoot hunter and she could own the news cycle, Stewart said. It'd be great for her reelection. Biggest scientific breakthrough in New York since forever. He palmed another handful of peanuts into his mouth and shook his head. Priorities are all screwed up, he said. Everyone involved is a genius. Yeah, Snake is a genius.
Riley Bray
Yes, Steve. Steve Featherstone, who wrote this article. I mean, genius. This is a masterpiece. Well done, Steve.
Michael McMillan
Well, this is a God damn masterpiece. And yeah, Katie Hochul is the governor and I'm just so I included some of their links. There's also one from CBS Albany. Oh, if you click the CBS Albany link, you Will see a photo of Dak in the poison ivy patch.
Riley Bray
No. Come on. This is what they're saying they found.
Michael McMillan
Yep, yep, yep. So also in this thing, it says that frustrated with. This is a different article. This is on guys were just doing this today. I don't care how long it takes. It says it on the CBS news. Frustrated with traditional Bigfoot hunting methods, Stewart developed a new approach called nesting, which focuses on stealth and investigative techniques. I found that banging on logs and howling into the woods was an absolute insane approach to attract. To attracting a naturally elusive creature. Stewart said his method involves silent observation and tracking anomalies becoming. Tracking anomalies becoming one with the environment to understand the subtle disturbances left by a large intelligent creature. I mean. Okay.
Riley Bray
Okay. Yeah.
Michael McMillan
I mean, I do think. Yeah. God, I don't know how this all wrapped up, but I hope it never ends.
Riley Bray
The May this story.
Michael McMillan
I will be following his career with great interest.
Riley Bray
Mm.
Michael McMillan
Thoughts? What do you think? Final thoughts on Snake.
Riley Bray
This is one of my favorite articles.
Michael McMillan
In a long time. It's too good.
Riley Bray
It just. It brings me joy. Who knows what we're gonna find out about Snake, but God damn, that article was.
Michael McMillan
We gotta get it. Let's just get him on the show. Be like Snake.
Riley Bray
Yeah, let's get.
Michael McMillan
Let's go.
Riley Bray
I mean, I would love to talk to this guy. Absolutely. I want to hear what he's got. I want to hear what. What he's selling.
Michael McMillan
I need to take some acting. I need to take some, like, character inspiration from him. I want to know how he, you know, what. What inspiration he pulls from to create the roles that he creates and how he commits.
Riley Bray
He crafted a look and he committed to it.
Michael McMillan
He really did. I love this guy. All right, we got to take a break. When we come back, we're gonna dive into your elfile stories. When did making plans get this complicated? These are stories of personal paranormal history and high strangeness that you, the Bigfoot Club Scouts, have sent to us@bigfootcollectorsclubmail.com we need more stories, and we want stories that really happen to you if something happened that you can't explain. Riley and I are going to unpack it this month. These are all kind of shorter stories, which is nice. Shorter emails. Some are anecdotal, some are stories. Some are a couple things that I thought were just cool to share with the rest of the club Scouts. So why don't we dive in from this first letter from an anonymous listener. I know who they are, but they did not want to be named the show.
Riley Bray
Oh, I don't know who they are.
Michael McMillan
No, I'll tell you later.
Riley Bray
But this is what they say. Hi, bcc. I'm a little behind on episodes. Is that why they're anonymous?
Michael McMillan
Yeah, they don't want it.
Riley Bray
You know, I get it, I get it. But I've been catching up and something happened recently that I wanted to write in about. While driving home from work and listening to the Becoming a Seer episode with Adela Levine, I noticed a faint, grayish head shape in my rear view mirror. When I tried to look directly at it, it disappeared. At the same moment, I got this odd, unsettled feeling and the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. It only lasted a few seconds, so I brushed it off. I've had my share of small, unexplained moments before, so I didn't think much of it. But then about a minute later, Michael described a similar sensation and object on the podcast.
Michael McMillan
Remember that? When I thought I saw a little head peek out from behind my head.
Riley Bray
Oh, that's cool. That stopped me in my tracks. I remember thinking, wait, did I just experience that too? It wasn't scary exactly, but it was enough to make me replay that part of the episode just to be sure I'd heard him right. That strange overlap has stuck in my head ever since. Thanks for the podcast. I really enjoy listening. Also, have you guys heard of the show Resident Alien? It's a fascinating watch and I think you guys and listeners would really enjoy the show. Cheers.
Michael McMillan
Anonymous man, what do you think about that?
Riley Bray
I love that synchronicity stuff.
Michael McMillan
That's weird, right? It totally, yeah, may maybe. Anonymous I was like psychically linking to you and I was seeing. Maybe I had a vision of what you saw. Or maybe you had a psychic vision about what was about to happen on the show. That makes more sense, right? Like, maybe they had a preternatural feeling of, like, I know what's coming up next.
Riley Bray
Yeah, I mean, that does make more sense. But also, I mean, that stuff happens all the time where I'm like, Like reading something and I read a word when I hear it on the radio or driving somewhere and I see a word on the sign right as I hear it. Or like, yes. I mean, I guess that's just like, there's so many. So many words and.
Michael McMillan
No, but, no, no, no, no.
Riley Bray
Stuff happens.
Michael McMillan
But, no, this just happened. I was listening to Marcy, Marcy's 90 Day Fiance podcast that she does with Nicole Byer. Also, I, I don't know if we've talked about this on the show. I went to their live show last month at the. At Dynasty Typewriter. It was so funny. Cool. But 90 Day Bay on Patreon, Check it out. But they were talking about ice cream and how they were craving soft serve. And I was driving somewhere and sitting at a light, and I looked up, and just as they said soft serve, I was looking at an ice cream parlor with the big word soft serve on the window.
Riley Bray
That's what I'm talking about.
Michael McMillan
That is, you're like, okay, when. When am I ever hearing the term soft serve or looking at it? And earlier that day, I had been listening to the Doughboys podcast and they had been raiding McDonald's soft serve ice cream.
Riley Bray
Weird.
Michael McMillan
So I totally get it, man. Something's going on in my neighborhood that I hear.
Riley Bray
Is that you or me? That's me.
Michael McMillan
I have my windows open because it's hot. Yeah, that's like my street. There's not usually, like, ambulance stuff happening here. But I don't know. Anyway, this is very cool. I think maybe you're psychic anonymous. I think maybe you were tapping into what was. Jesus, guys.
Riley Bray
Are they coming for you? Michael?
Michael McMillan
About time.
Riley Bray
They're coming for Mikey 10 Toes.
Michael McMillan
Yeah.
Riley Bray
For anybody.
Michael McMillan
Trying to get me, I hear the engine running. Okay.
Riley Bray
Yeah.
Michael McMillan
I think you had a psychic moment. I don't know.
Riley Bray
I don't know. I always, I, I, I, I'm, you know, I mean, you know me. I'm not, like, superstitious, but I always pay attention to the synchronicity moments. I love them. I feel like they're just interesting ways of skipping through this reality. Like, yeah, you notice these little, Just like little messages. Even if they're little messages that you're crafting for yourself by reacting to your environment.
Michael McMillan
You know, I always see them as like static electricity in the air. Like, something's humming right before something's about to happen. And, yeah, it's usually something positive, you know?
Riley Bray
Yeah. Yeah.
Michael McMillan
And so that. Those, to me, are usually signs of, like. It feels like you're all, like, everything's lining up. You're on the right track. If you can stay in sync with this, then you're. This is sort of like, this is the road you need to keep going down, the one that you're. You're planning and thinking about. So the more you do that, the more these little things will pop up along the way to be like, you're still on the same route, you know?
Riley Bray
Yeah, exactly. One of my favorite ones is if I. If I arrive somewhere right when the song I'm listening to ends, like, oh, I love that. But I don't. I don't, you know, judge it. It's just, like, right as you pull into the parking spot, it's, like, perfect.
Michael McMillan
I love that.
Riley Bray
Let's go. Yeah.
Michael McMillan
Such a good feeling. Okay, here's another short one.
Riley Bray
Okay.
Michael McMillan
This is called Ouija Story Cosmetier. They want to let us. They wanted us to know. Nice cosmetier.
Riley Bray
That's right.
Michael McMillan
BCC supercast.com. hey, guys. Just briefly want to say thank you for doing what you do. Y' all are the highlight of my week. Here is my Ouija board story. Ooh. Love it. Right to it. My grandfather was a young man when the U.S. entered World War II, and he quickly signed up with the U.S. navy. During his time in the service, my grandpa's siblings used an A Ouija board to pinpoint his locations as he traveled around the Pacific. When he came home, he was able to verify the information from their divination session.
Riley Bray
That's crazy.
Michael McMillan
That's pretty cool, because, you know, you're not allowed to, like, write home and tell your family where you are, you know?
Riley Bray
Yeah.
Michael McMillan
You know, so that's pretty cool. A few years ago, I found the actual mystic tray in the family cabin built by my grandpa and his dad. Oh, there's a photo attached to this.
Riley Bray
But I didn't see the photo.
Michael McMillan
I'll find. I'll take it up.
Riley Bray
Yeah.
Michael McMillan
I had always been afraid to mess with it, but I think it might be time to connect with our ancestral energies. I'll keep you posted on any happenings there. Thanks again, Amelia. Dude, I love this. And you absolutely, like, that's like. That's like a Real family heirloom. And I love that it was called a Mystic Tray because that seems to me that it's like an off brand Ouija board. It wasn't the official Parker Brothers.
Riley Bray
Yeah.
Michael McMillan
Let me see if I can find this photo here. What do you think, Riley?
Riley Bray
I mean, that's like the. That's like a setup of a Steven Spielberg movie.
Michael McMillan
It really is.
Riley Bray
I love it. I try to try to.
Michael McMillan
You should.
Riley Bray
You should try to talk to your grandpa, I think.
Michael McMillan
Grandpa, I think, is Grandpa.
Riley Bray
His grandpa. Grandpa was. Oh, I don't know. Maybe not. Oh, talk to whoever.
Michael McMillan
I mean, you can talk to grandpa on the Ouija board.
Riley Bray
If so, I don't know. Never mind. But just be careful they don't say with who you talk to on there. You never know.
Michael McMillan
You never know.
Riley Bray
Okay, I'm pulling up people not might not be who they say they are.
Michael McMillan
Oh, this shit's cool. Okay, hold on. I'm gonna take a little moment to download here. Did you ever have. I can't remember if we talked about this. Did you ever have an Ouija board in your house growing up?
Riley Bray
No, we didn't have one in the house, but I remember doing it with my friend when we were kids, and we, like, thought we'd talk to a vampire or something, and it was very fun. And we got.
Michael McMillan
You did talk to a vampire. Why? What was the vampire saying to you?
Riley Bray
That we could, like, be vampires, too, I think. And something. There's something about it, like if we ate a piece of gum, we could also become vampire, you know, as we were kids.
Michael McMillan
Yeah, but.
Riley Bray
So I guess I might be a vampire because I ate the vampire gum from the Ouija board when I was 8 or something. I don't know how old I would have been in that.
Michael McMillan
Maybe that's why you look ageless. Look at the box of this mystic tray. This thing is cool. It looks like a Dali painting.
Riley Bray
Oh, yeah, that rules.
Michael McMillan
And then look at the board itself. Oh, it's very. Oh, look, there's a bootleg witch from Snow White on here. This thing is red. Dude. It's a Hasco mystic board. That must be the company that made them. I wonder how much this is worth. It might be a little collector's 125 bucks on eBay. Hey, man, there's one that's selling for 400.
Riley Bray
Hey, hey, hey.
Michael McMillan
Keep it in the family, though. This one has, like. There are older ones that have, like. Or other ones that have the Sphinx. This is like some, like, Edgar Casey inspired.
Riley Bray
It's really cool.
Michael McMillan
Spooky stuff. This is really, really cool. Rad. Yeah. Break it out if any. This. This thing looks like it can talk to dead people.
Riley Bray
Yeah, I feel like the. That's over the one you're gonna get at like Barnes and Noble.
Michael McMillan
Yeah.
Riley Bray
This one's got the. It's got the zhuzh, the juju, the.
Michael McMillan
This one. This one was like carved from a tree. That is like growing out of a cemetery.
Riley Bray
Yes, exactly. Yeah, it's got that vibe.
Michael McMillan
This is very, very cool.
Riley Bray
Well, let us know if you let us know. Eat anybody in there?
Michael McMillan
All right, what you got?
Riley Bray
All right, well, this next.
Michael McMillan
That next. L file.
Riley Bray
Ufo.
Michael McMillan
Oh. Oh.
Riley Bray
I was driving to work. There is a small cornfield on a small back road. I pass. This person writes like Hemingway. I see this very. I see this very vibrant blue light.
Michael McMillan
Baby shoes.
Riley Bray
Exactly.
Michael McMillan
Never worn.
Riley Bray
Exactly. No notes. All right, let's do this justice. I see this very vibrant blue light just behind the trees that boarded the field. It blinks out and then it's in front of the trees. Blinks out, then it's in the middle of the field. Blinks out and then it's just past it. Then it is gone or too far to see. Like literally less than 10 seconds. No way it was any aircraft we know of. It was so fast. It was so bright. Definitely didn't lose time because I was not late for work. But definitely a ufo. UFO emoji. I'm glad it was not scary like your encounter, Michael. I look for it every day now, hoping it comes back. Heather. Smiley face. P.S. you have read my five star review on the pod as mystery yeet person. My son made this account Sick face emoji. My son made this account as a child and I do not know how to change that name. Don't. It's perfect. Love all your hard work. Thank you so much.
Michael McMillan
I love this.
Riley Bray
Heather. This is a great letter.
Michael McMillan
This. This letter almost read like she was writing it at, like moments.
Riley Bray
I was there. I was in it.
Michael McMillan
I thought. I thought that. I thought it for. Until. Until she said, you know, I look for it every day. Day now, hoping it comes back. I thought she was like, literally pulled into her parking spot at work. Was like. I was driving to work. Okay. There's a smallish cornfield, a backfill pass. I see this very vibrant blue light. Like, you know, it's written in the. Like, you guys are never gonna believe what I just saw.
Riley Bray
Yeah.
Michael McMillan
Very vibrant blue light blinking in and.
Riley Bray
Out as it makes progress.
Michael McMillan
Yeah. And it moves through the trees now there's a couple details missing here. Heather, if you want to write us back, I want to know how big this light was. Like if you were looking out your window and you held up your palm, would your palm cover it? Would your thumb cover it? Like, what size of light?
Riley Bray
Right. Are we talking baseball? Basketball?
Michael McMillan
Baseball, basketball, watermelon, Volkswagen. Like, how big was this light? Was it an orbit? And. But it moves very quickly and she said it was extremely bright. I mean, this is definitely like a UFO situation, I think. Doesn't sound like a drone.
Riley Bray
No.
Michael McMillan
I don't know.
Riley Bray
This is like a classic, very paranormal UFO kind of. I love the, like, sort of like behind the trees and then it's just in front of the trees.
Michael McMillan
Yeah. I want to know also if. If you'll write and if you don't want us to say on air. I want to know where, what town this is near. You know what I mean? Give me a little bit more details. Date again. We don't have to read it all in the air, but I just want to, like, put a. Put a bigger picture together here to see. Are there other sightings around this area? Has anyone ever seen something like you've seen? Let's. Let's paint a bigger picture here and see if we can like, get a. Get a closer idea of what you might be dealing with here, don't you think?
Riley Bray
Agreed. I give me.
Michael McMillan
I want more weather conditions, time of day. You're driving to work, so I'm gonna guess morning unless you work at night. I mean, that's the thing. Was this. Did you see this vibrant blue light during the day or at nighttime? Give some more details here. Heather, I'm loving this and I just wanna, you know, I'm gonna. I wanna know more about the moment and the encounter. The who, what, where, why and how.
Riley Bray
I love it. It.
Michael McMillan
Let's do it. Okay, we're gonna take another break. When we come back, our friend Jathan has something for us.
Riley Bray
Alrighty.
Michael McMillan
Okay. Now I believe, if I'm not wrong. Yes. That Jason was a friend that we met at KC Paracon or Paracon. Kc.
Riley Bray
Oh, right. I remember. I remember.
Michael McMillan
Yeah. Hey, Michael and Riley. My name is Jason. I'm a huge fan in Cosmoteer. I go by Jason T. Or and. Or J.J. haselden. I've been listening to you guys since March of 2020. Just want to say, Riley, I love all the cosmic tracks and all that you bring to the POD and the charisma that you bring everything you do to bring to everything you do, including the Insta videos and ambient sound.
Riley Bray
Oh nice.
Michael McMillan
Thanks Michael. I truly appreciate all the work you do on the pod. It is truly my favorite podcast. I also loved Adventure Van and the first issue of Lucid Tracking down the rest for Christmas. Write to me. I might be able to help you out with that. And can't wait to dive into the works of Chelsea St. James.
Riley Bray
Yes, nice.
Michael McMillan
I'm messaging you guys because now this is actually, I have to say, not quite an L file, but I think this is very cool.
Riley Bray
Cool.
Michael McMillan
I am writing a messaging you guys because I've done some research into a UFO story that took place where I was born and raised. A story I first heard about on the show WET Hot Alien Summer 2 Summer Abduction with Ryan Sprague right around 57 minutes in. In the episode Ryan talks about his favorite UFO case and I and it was the Stanford abduction of 1976. Well, I was raised live and work in Lancaster in Lancaster, Kentucky where Louise, Mona and Elaine went for dinner that night, ultimately leading to the abduction. After hearing the episode and my wife and oldest daughter seeing UFOs around the same time, I began to dig and found out that there was somewhat of a UFO flap around this time in Stanford. I have compiled all the information on the Stanford abduction into a Google document. I also have found a few other sightings that took place a couple months prior. I'm currently traveling around the state looking into some of these old sightings of cryptids, UFOs and strange events. All inspired by you guys, Ryan Sprague and Steve Berg. I was going to say you're a regular little Steve Berg here. Yeah, I'm planning on launching my own little pod and putting out a few short story videos on what I found on the date of the first sighting. November 15, marking the 50th anniversary of the Saly sightings, Sally sightings and get the stories out there. But I wanted to share what I found since you guys are the only reason I even know about it in the first place. I don't want any plugs or anything like that. I just want to help out and get the story out there. Well, too late. Thanks to you guys I have really gotten out this summer and investigated. Oh, that fills my heart with so much joy. And had a few adventures including meeting you both briefly at Casey Paracon. You guys made it super easy for a socially awkward guy like me to feel at ease. Thanks again. I love this Jeff, and I'm not gonna share it all here obviously, but Jason like put together like he's putting together Something, you know, and that's in our email that he sent us. But I. This is so cool. And honestly, this is exactly what Big strange vacation was all about. Like, get out there. Go have some adventures. The most fun.
Riley Bray
I just love that, like, we did a thing a while ago. This person heard it, they went, wait a minute. That's right where I live. And then they've gone out now and researched, and they want to make their own videos. And it's just like. That's like, why you do these things. You throw them out into the Internet and they. They echo back at you. And it's just. That's really cool.
Michael McMillan
It's really cool.
Riley Bray
I'm excited for you.
Michael McMillan
I mean, the most fun I had this summer was hanging out with you and Steve and Dave and Lawrence and doing our legend questing. So I get it. So I thought it'd be fun to kind of revisit this case just a little bit, in case anyone else is interested. So the Stanford abduction took place on January 6, 1976. I'm reading this off of Skimming the Kentucky Wiki that's got this story in here. So it was Mona Stafford's 36th birthday. The photos are kind of shocking because they got that real 1976 vibe where you're like, they're 36. They look 66 by today's standards. No offense. It's just kind of wild.
Riley Bray
Wow. Yeah.
Michael McMillan
So to celebrate, she and her friends Louise Smith and Elaine Thomas decided to drive 35 miles from their home in Liberty, Kentucky, to have dinner at the Redwoods Restaurant between Stanford and Lancaster, Kentucky. So that's where our friend Jathan is from. Louise Smith was driving them in her 67 Chevy Nova. Yes.
Riley Bray
Nice.
Michael McMillan
So the. After dinner, the head dinner, they didn't drink anything. They drove back home. They were expecting to be home by midnight. They're nine miles out of Lancaster. They turn on a Highway 27, off 27 and onto Highway 78 towards Hus, Hustonville or Houstonville. So just outside of Stanford, they see this bright red object which appears in the sky. At first, Mona Stafford thought it was an airplane on fire. I don't know if any of this is ringing a bell. As the object descended from the right side of the road to a point ahead of them, they could see that it was not an airplane, but a huge object. Bigger than, quote, two houses. That's how they described it.
Riley Bray
Wow.
Michael McMillan
The object stopped about 100 yards ahead of them, stretching across the road on both sides. It rocked back and forth for a couple seconds and then moved off to the left. So they keep driving. And a little while later, just a little further down the road, a huge blue light calling Heather appeared through the rear window of the car. And at first they thought it was a highway patrol car with its lights flashing. But soon they realized that the flying object had circled around and had come up behind them. Yikes. Suddenly, something wrestled control of the car away from Louise Smith. The car accelerated even though Mrs. Smith took her foot off the accelerator, and the speedometer was soon at 85 miles per hour. Mona, in the front passenger seat, tried to help Louise regain control of the car, but it was impossible. The women began to feel a burning sensation in their eyes. The ignition lights lit up on the instrument panel, an indication that the car's engine was stalled. But they were still speeding along. They saw a wide, brightly lit road ahead of them. This is what creeps me out. And then seconds later, the scene became Highway 78. And they recognized they were on the outskirts of Houstonville, a full eight miles from where they had just been. And here's the thing. An hour and 20 minutes had passed.
Riley Bray
That's crazy.
Michael McMillan
So they showed up at Louisa smith's home at 1:25am an hour and a half past their goal time.
Riley Bray
Wow. And they just know accounting for it.
Michael McMillan
Yeah. And they found red marks, like burn marks on the back of their necks. All their eyes were burning and irritated. Louise Smith went to the bathroom and removed her wash watch to wash her face. She saw that the hands of her watch were spinning at a much higher than normal speed. So this is like the Val Johnson story we did on the clubhouse a couple weeks back on the pcc. The other side. Remember his eyes were all burned and his watch was stopped and acting weird.
Riley Bray
Yeah.
Michael McMillan
She found that contact with water caused pain on her face and hands.
Riley Bray
Yikes.
Michael McMillan
So they go to the next door neighbor, a guy named Lao Lee. They tell him what happened. They call the police and the. And the local Navy office. Nobody showed up. But in the days that followed, Mona Stafford had more problems with her eyes, and they sought medical help for severe conjunctivitis. Louise Smith's pet parakeet was now inexplicably, inexplicably terrified of her. And the bird died a couple months later.
Riley Bray
I don't know.
Michael McMillan
That's kind of weird. So, long story short or something. Yeah, they call mufon, I think the. The Navy office, I guess, passed the story along to the media. And then Jerry Black of MUFON sets them up with J. Allen Hynek. And. And Jim and Coral Lorenzen of Apro. They all investigate the case and they did hypnotic regression and they basically talked about being on board a craft with what we would call alien grays. There were similar aliens, like the Betty and Barney Hill case.
Riley Bray
And.
Michael McMillan
Yeah. So it's a really, really. That the image of the road illuminating, like, as if they were being like transit phased in and out of our reality. Really. With me, that is a spooky, very lynching. Talk about David Lynch. Like, you know how he's obsessed with, like, filming roads as you're driving down them.
Riley Bray
Yeah, yeah. Lost Highway.
Michael McMillan
Yeah. And. And parts of Twin Peaks to return. Have a lot. Has a lot of that, but. Yeah. What do you think? Wild case.
Riley Bray
I mean, this is like as good as it gets. Like the regression and the. The whole. The whole thing.
Michael McMillan
The era, multiple people.
Riley Bray
Yeah, yeah.
Michael McMillan
The time period, the.
Riley Bray
The time loss that also. It's just like, you know, it's. It just happened to, like, sort of these three women. Like, there's no. It's like a reliable witness. Like, why, you know, why would they. They're not, you know, so creepy. It's. Yeah, it's.
Michael McMillan
It's.
Riley Bray
It's spooky. It's haunting. It's the.
Michael McMillan
The idea of this craft turning around and coming after them is just really creepy. It gives me goosebumps. It's really, really, really creepy.
Riley Bray
The hypnotic regression stuff really gets me too. I'm. I don't know.
Michael McMillan
Yeah.
Riley Bray
I don't know what to make about. Especially all three of them separately. And they're sort of.
Michael McMillan
Yeah. And their neighbor, I guess their neighbor had them draw pictures. He took them. He even had the wherewithal to be like, okay, come with me one at a time and draw what you saw. Draw the craft. And he said they. It all looked. They were all lined up. Yeah. They all saw the same thing.
Riley Bray
Wow. I don't know. I mean, that's a.
Michael McMillan
This story is spooky, dude.
Riley Bray
Juicy one.
Michael McMillan
Yeah. Jathan. Can't wait. Let us know when you got something to present. Love to check it out.
Riley Bray
Indeed.
Michael McMillan
Good for you, man. Love it. Okay, should we take another quick break? We'll come back for just a couple more. What do you think?
Riley Bray
Sounds good. Let's do it.
Michael McMillan
Good. Let's do it. Yeah, let's do it. Let's do it. This is kind of the opposite of Mikey Tentos. He's like that guy that kind of.
Riley Bray
You know, he talks.
Michael McMillan
Over here, I'm Mickey. All thumbs, baby.
Riley Bray
I like to picture you just sort of there's those two talking to each other as you sit.
Michael McMillan
Hey, man. Hey, Mikey. What's up? Hey, Mickey, are you really all thumbs? What's going on here, bro? Yeah, man. You got your 10 toes, I got 10 thumbs.
Riley Bray
All right.
Michael McMillan
It's cool, man. Hey, you gotta do you. You know what I mean?
Riley Bray
We'll be right back.
Michael McMillan
You gotta keep the main thing. The main thing?
Riley Bray
Yes. Always keep the main thing. Eczema isn't always obvious, but it's real.
Michael McMillan
And so is the relief from Ebglis.
Riley Bray
After an initial dosing phase, about 4 in 10 people taking Eglis achieved itch relief and clear or almost clear skin at 16 weeks. And most of those people maintain skin that's still more clear at one year with monthly dosing.
Michael McMillan

I'm Christian McCaffrey, pro running back, and Abercrombie is an official fashion partner of the NFL. I'm not kidding when I say NFL by Abercrombie. Broke the Internet last year, and I think this season's lineup is even cooler. And so does my wife. Wife who keeps stealing all my hoodies. Stay fit for the season and Abercrombie's newest arrivals shop NFL by Abercrombie in the app, online and in store. Okay, everybody, we got a couple more letters here to dig into. Hit us.
Riley Bray
All right, well, this person says, hi, BCC boys and possible guests. Not this time.
Michael McMillan
No. There's a couple guests here, you know.
Riley Bray
Yeah, you got Mickey and Mikey hanging out with You I found about BCC while listening to the Tooth and Claw podcast back in October 2022. I've been going through your back catalog for the last two and a half years to get caught up. Amazing. I wanted to wait until I was caught up to send in my story.
Michael McMillan
I stuck in my thumb and I pulled out a Bigfoot penis bone. Whoa. Cool.
Riley Bray
Guys, I'm trying to read a story. Just.
Michael McMillan
It's okay. Yeah, I'm just. I'm gonna mute them.
Riley Bray
All right. Could you. Yeah.
Michael McMillan
Thanks.
Riley Bray
Great. Cool. This story takes place back in 2014. My mom and I. I can't even look at you right now. My mom and I were living in a house at that time. Turned off his camera. One night, my friend and I. That's awful because I know you're gonna come back. That's what it is. One night, my friend and I were in my furnished basement hanging out. I was on the couch and she was on a chair that was catty corner to me. While I was talking, her face got a weird look and she looked nervous. I asked her what was wrong and she stated that she didn't want to say. I said, come on, I can take it. Then she said that there was a ghost standing behind me and had his hand on the couch by my shoulder.
Michael McMillan
No.
Riley Bray
I said, really? And asked her what he looked like. She said it was more of a silhouette of a man, but she could tell he was wearing a hat.
Michael McMillan
The hat man.
Riley Bray
Like a bowler hat. My friend had always said that she could see things, but I never really believed her. I laughed it off as you do, because I wasn't too scared since nothing had happened before. Nice. Wait. All right. The next day I went to speak to my mom and I said, you'll never guess what my friend said she saw last night. My mom replied, august, I was shocked that she knew. She then went on to explain that she has seen it since we moved in back in 2001, but never told me, so that I wasn't scared. What sealed the fact that she was telling the truth was that before I could describe what my friend said, it looked like my mom described the same thing. I really believe in ghosts now.
Michael McMillan
Goes real.
Riley Bray
Nothing ever really happened to me after that. I guess I don't have the gift, but just so weird that they both would know my mom and my friend weren't close and wouldn't have decided to play a joke on me. Thanks for the podcast. I love hearing from all the guests and their paranormal history, especially when True Blood cast members are come On Carrie.
Michael McMillan
See, Maybe we'll have some more.
Riley Bray
Wow, you got a ghost in your house.
Michael McMillan
Classic hat man. I mean, we got a shadow person. We're recording things a little bit out of order.
Riley Bray
I know that. The other episodes about the hat man, I read ahead.
Michael McMillan
Oh yeah. I could have played last week. We talked all about the hat.
Riley Bray
They wouldn't have even known.
Michael McMillan
They wouldn't have known. But it also strange too, because the hat man, as we discussed, really did start making waves back in the early 2000s. So this all kind of lines up with the hat man becoming like a national sensation. So this is very strange. You definitely got a shadow person in that house. Or did the hatman?
Riley Bray
Honestly gives me the. The willies.
Michael McMillan
It's creepy, right? Yeah, it's creepy. It's ancient. It's been around.
Riley Bray
Yeah, it feels ancient. Brooding.
Michael McMillan
Yes.
Riley Bray
It's kind of like.
Michael McMillan
Oh, the. Also that expression that you describe of your friend, like we've all seen that expression on a friend's face going. You know what I mean? When they see something over your shoulder and get freaked out and you're like.
Riley Bray
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Michael McMillan
What? Like that's such a relatable moment.
Riley Bray
I don't want to tell you.
Michael McMillan
Yeah, great. I love this. I mean, come on, this. This is a perfect L file right here.
Riley Bray
Yeah.
Michael McMillan
You know, corroboration. Two different people, separate circles, seeing the same thing. I'm glad you can't see that Hat man curry.
Riley Bray
So it's pro. Honestly, it's. It's for the better. Yeah. I don't want to see the hat man.
Michael McMillan
It's for the best. Okay.
Riley Bray
Thanks for taking two and a half years to go through the whole back catalog. Hell yeah. I hope you enjoyed it.
Michael McMillan
Yeah.
Riley Bray
That's amazing. I love hearing that. That's so cool.
Michael McMillan
It's fantastic. Okay, here we go. Our last L file of the week.
Riley Bray
Hit me.
Michael McMillan
Greetings Michael and Riley, as well as any esteemed guests that may be present. I'm on mute. It's mundane anomaly. It's our friend from BCC Clubhouse.
Riley Bray
What up, brah?
Michael McMillan
I'd like to explain that I am, or was a fairly heavy skeptic when it comes to the supernatural. I subscribe fully decrypted and extra ultra terrestrials because it's always felt like the realm of possibility and nature be wild in sometimes. But ghosts, spirits, demons, I've always treated those aspects of the supernaturals just something people really want to be real rather than things that are. However, my own reality was shaken and my experience with what is real and what is unreal became a thin veil I saw through for just a brief moment. Oh hell yeah. I was staying in my father's man cave, which is really just a music room with a beer fridge attached to the rear of a garage.
Riley Bray
It was a definition of a yeah.
Michael McMillan
That is just My father collects guitars and 1950s 60s counterculture paraphernalia, usually music, automotive or art related.
Riley Bray
Cool.
Michael McMillan
I turned my father in onto Spindrift, by the way.
Riley Bray
Hell yeah. He probably I hope he I hope he likes it.
Michael McMillan
These items have come from all over the world and many of them are third, fourth, fifth owner items, possibly more. So keep this in mind as I share my experience, as I know from listening to the new Kirk's whenever they've graced a microphone on this podcast. Sometimes the things you buy may come with something you didn't see on the.
Riley Bray
Price tag, especially musical instruments.
Michael McMillan
Oh yeah, totally. I was in that fluttery zone between very tired and actually being asleep. You know when you feel like you're floating but also sinking at the same time, where everything feels big and close, yet small and distant There. It's extremely dark and very, very quiet in the man cave, which is pleasant, but it can also amplify feelings of loneliness and grief, both of which I was deeply subjected to at this time. As I was drifting off, I heard very clearly a childlike voice say good night, Daddy. Now I have kids, so I know what a child's voice sounds, which is why I describe it as childlike, because it sounded more like someone or something trying to sound like a child. Out of habit, I replied in my sleepy state, good night, buddy. However, no sooner had those words slurred out of my mouth, I was overcome with the sudden but very clear thought of you should not have engaged with it, followed by the already dark room shifting into a blackness I've not experienced before or after.
Riley Bray
Whoa.
Michael McMillan
I remember perking up and feeling more awake, realizing there was something in the room with me which had become evident by the air feeling heavy and thick. Whatever it was made its presence known and was not trying to be secretive. Yikes. I was laid on my stomach with both hands under my pillow. I wanted to to turn over to get a better look at whatever was in the room with me, but I realized I couldn't move. Not like paralysis or numbness, but an incredibly burning sensation. My hands felt like they'd become kettlebells, and I experienced what I can only describe as my bones sinking or perhaps even being pulled into my mattress. I lay there in the Dark for whatever amount of time before I felt it. It. Whatever it was crawling up my legs and onto my back.
Riley Bray
No. No.
Michael McMillan
And I felt each individual press like the paws of a monstrously large dog. Or in a more sinister sense, a person pretending to be a monstrously large dog, walking very slowly over my body and then laying down, down on top of me.
Riley Bray
This is insane.
Michael McMillan
Okay, I don't know where this is going, but I'm just gonna blanket this with a maybe trigger warning. A sickeningly dense and vicious sense of dread hit me with the force of a thousand dying stars, and I knew I had to somehow get some light in the room. I fought my body for an undisclosed amount of time since this event felt like a moment between seconds passing, and managed to drag one of my hands out from under the pillow and let it drop onto my phone on the bedside table, which, luckily sits lower than the mattress. The lock screen lit up, and in an instant, the presence was gone. Great move. I can move. And I could breathe.
Riley Bray
Wow.
Michael McMillan
I also love the. The announcement of crickets at this moment of the story.
Riley Bray
Yeah.
Michael McMillan
I turned on the TV as well as a lamp and checked both entrances to make sure that they were still locked and kind of just paced around the room for a while before I felt brave enough to get back into bed.
Riley Bray
I'm done for the night after that.
Michael McMillan
I'm done. Dude, I'm sleeping outside.
Riley Bray
I'm up.
Michael McMillan
I left the lights and TV on. Okay. Good call.
Riley Bray
Yeah.
Michael McMillan
For some comforting background noise to smooth out the residual malice that was clinging in the air.
Riley Bray
Wow.
Michael McMillan
I managed to eventually lower my heartbeat from. From a deafening jackhammer to a stable, survivable rhythm. The experience left me shaken and hollow, and I spent the next few nights fearfully expecting the visitor to return. It felt like a visitor because it didn't feel like a sleep paralysis event, as I'd never experienced sleep paralysis before and haven't since.
Riley Bray
Huh.
Michael McMillan
It had a real aura about it that was full of hate and anger, which is what scared me so much about the Shade. It truly felt like it had an ill will toward me. Most of my thoughts write it off as a manifestation of horror of the horrific levels of stress I was going through at the time. However, a firm and unwavering part of my mind, convinced something, is convinced something, wanted to feed off my crippling sadness and loss.
Riley Bray
Yeah, I think it can be both.
Michael McMillan
Ding, ding, ding. The phenomenon has, to date, never made itself known again, and I've not had any experience experiences like it in my 38 years. I wish I could say more about it all, but it was such a brief and intense thing that this is the best I can muster. Interestingly, my phone displayed at the time as 3:03am so make of that of what you will to close. I want to share a very quick synchronicity with you guys. Wow. Bringing it full circle here. I was listening as I wrote this originally, to some other side content. National Park Cryptid. There was a mention of an Alaskan black dog, which was super fun because just before I put this episode on, I was listening to a song by the darkness called Black Shook, which is actually a tale of an English cryptid. Yes, I know. Yes. Described as a ghost, hound, or demon dog whose presence signifies the loss of a close one. It's a cool song and a rare banger about a badass cryptid. All my love and respect for the massive effort over the years. You. You truly are a standout and wonderfully unique podcast. M. Wow. Wow. Great story. Also, synchronicity. Synchronistic. Because this thing that crawled on you kind of feels like a big black dog. Like a, you know, shadow. Shadow.
Riley Bray
I mean. Yeah, it has the. It has the hallmarks of the sleep paralysis hat. Man.
Michael McMillan
Yeah.
Riley Bray
Dog kind of that. That looming demon thing.
Michael McMillan
Incubus.
Riley Bray
Yeah. Accompanies that. I mean. Yeah. It's like one of the sort of oldest ghost stories, really, is the.
Michael McMillan
This. Yeah.
Riley Bray
This phenomenon and this letter to it also. It hits on, like, you know, the whole thing about, like, you're going through grief and sadness and how that overlaps with these sort of experiences and how, you know, the mind kind of can be. It's like. It can be both in a way. It can. And it can be the thing itself. It can all be this big, weird sort of ouroboros loop that, you know, reality is. I just, you know, I'm glad to hear that you've gotten through this time and that.
Michael McMillan
Yeah.
Riley Bray
But this is a really interesting story.
Michael McMillan
Yeah.
Riley Bray
The way things. The way things manifest.
Michael McMillan
And I've been here a little bit. Not this powerful with. With sleep paralysis before, but nothing. I mean, I relate to the not being able to move and all that stuff and how that feels. But the auditory. The thing of, like, good night, Daddy, and saying out loud, good night, buddy, and then the churn happening there, you know.
Riley Bray
Yeah. But that could be all the anxiety of, like, children and making sure they're okay. And just like, the whole, like, the brain is so strange, you know, it could. It's almost like the brain can summon these things. And they are real in a way, if they're. They're experienced and.
Michael McMillan
Well, and it's a thing of, like, it could be the outward manifestation of your psychic state of mind at the time. You know what I mean? Like, it's part of you. This thing was part of you. And feeding off that part of you, that was it. You know what I mean?
Riley Bray
Yeah.
Michael McMillan
Like, when you have things like this, this is almost like the symbolism is all connected here. You know what I mean? It all. It all ties together, and so it doesn't matter to me whether it's a literal shade in there or not. It is what it is, and you experience what you experienced. You know what I mean? And it's. It's the. It is the event. It's the. It's the event. What am I trying to say? It's like the sim. The symbol is the living thing here. You know what I mean? And maybe may or may not be supernatural, but it doesn't matter because at this point, it all is. You know what I mean?
Riley Bray
Sure. Yeah. With the. The medium is the message or the message is the medium or whatever.
Michael McMillan
Right, right. Spooky stuff.
Riley Bray
Or there's a demon in one of your dad's.
Michael McMillan
Might be a demon. Yeah, it could be a demon in a flute. Yeah, it could be a flute demon.
Riley Bray
Classic, classic flute demon.
Michael McMillan
Also, just thinking about, like, sleeping in a room with all those things that resonate, you know, there's a lot of, like, absorbed energy in those instruments, you know? Yeah. So it's. It is weird. All right, well, that's it. And that's it for this week. Week of Bigfoot Collectors Club. Next week, we have got terrifying tales from zombie Bigfoot's cryptic crypt returning. Riley Bray
I think you might have perfect pitch. You did that. Exactly. That was like no for note from the. And that was wild. That was like you played a sound cue. Damn. Mikey Tentos. Hey man, keep the main thing. The main thing. That's. That's definitely your catchphrase. Well.
Michael McMillan
Oh yeah. Until then, speak of.
Riley Bray
And go get regressed.
