Hey, guys. Adam Fullerton here with the Brandon Bull Podcast. Welcome to another episode. Each Tuesday, we have a new episode for you guys. And on this episod episode, we're going to talk about the five practical ways AI can improve your marketing. And this is a follow up on an episode I did a couple weeks ago about the over reliance on AI and how it can actually hurt your business. So go check out that episode if you haven't listened to it. But today we're going to talk about how AI can help you guys stand out, get found, and win more work if that's what you're all about with your green industry business. So again, we're here to talk about a topic that seems to be everywhere right now, and that's AI or artificial intelligence. And whether you're excited about it, skeptical about it, or simply trying to figure out what all the hype is about, there's absolutely no denying that AI is changing the way businesses operate. And the challenge is that most conversations around AI tend to fall in one of two camps. The first group thinks AI is going to solve every problem in their business, and the second group thinks it's a fad that isn't worth paying attention to because they know better. And as usual, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. And I'll be honest, at Brandable, we spend a lot of time experimenting with AI and we have found that it's an incredible tool when used correctly. But it's still just a tool. It doesn't replace strategy, it doesn't replace experience, and it certainly doesn't replace knowing your customers and your market. But what it can do is help you work faster, organize your thoughts, and generate ideas that would otherwise take much longer to develop on your own. So today I want to share with you guys five practical ways lawn care and landscaping companies can use and and utilize AI to improve their marketing. All right, so let's jump in. Right. Number one, create a content calendar. One of the biggest challenges for most business owners is consistency. You know you should be posting on social media, you know you should be sending emails, you know you should be educating your customers. But when you're running crews, meeting customers, creating quotes, and managing the day to day operation of the business, a lot of times marketing falls to the bottom. Of the list. And that is where AI can be extremely helpful. So instead of staring at a blank screen wondering what to post, you can ask AI to help generate a month worth of content ideas. So for example, go to ChatGPT, Claude any tool out there you pick. You can say, give me 30 social media, post ideas for a lawn care company in July, or create a content calendar focused on fall cleanup preparation. And now here's the important part, right? Don't just copy and paste what AI gives you, use it as a starting point. The goal isn't to let AI become your marketing department. The goal is to eliminate the blank page and again, get the ideas flowing, get the juices flowing. Number two, it can improve your marketing messages. And most business owners know their services extremely well. What they often struggle with is communicating value. And AI can help you refine your messaging. So for example, instead of saying we offer lawn fertilization, you might ask it help me explain the benefits of lawn fertilization to a homeowner. And suddenly you're talking about thicker turf, fewer weeds, improved curb appeal and healthier lawn, et cetera, et cetera. You get the idea. AI can help you turn features into benefits. Because people don't shop features, they shop benefits. It's always about the benefits. It can also help you rewrite copy for things like your social media posts, email campaigns that you might be sending, sales materials that you might use. Again, this is not about replacing expertise. It's about helping you articulate your experience more effectively. Number three, generate better customer questions. And one of my favorite uses of AI is using it as a brainstorming. Brainstorming partner. Right? That's what it is, it's a partner. So let's say you're creating a new page for. For. For on your website, or you're, you're meeting with a commercial prospect, you're building a proposal. You can ask AI, you know, which questions should I be asking that I haven't considered and that often services things you might overlook. So questions about budgets, timelines, property goals, maintenance concerns, decision making processes. The better questions you ask, the more information you gather, right? And the better information you gather, the better your marketing and sales process becomes. Another thing it can do. Number four, analyze customer reviews. And most companies collect reviews, but never truly analyze them. AI can absolutely help identify patterns, right? Take 20 or 30 positive reviews and paste them into whichever AI tool you're using. And then ask what theme appears the most in these reviews. Or if you want to do something better, take the negative reviews and paste them in there and ask the same question. You might discover customers consistently mention something to do with communication or reliability or professionalism. If it's positive, you know, fast response times, attention to detail, those insights become marketing and sales gold because your customers are literally telling you why they chose your company. Right? So instead of guessing what makes you different, you can use the language of your customers or the language that your customers already use. And that's often far more powerful than anything you could come up with on your own. Number five. And there's a whole litany of other things you can do. But I don't want to make this episode too long. We try to keep things about 10 minutes or shorter, but build better marketing plans, and this is probably the most valuable use case of all. Right? Many business owners know they need marketing. They just don't know where to start. And AI can help organize ideas into an actual plan. So, for example, if you were to tell it, hey, I own a lawn care company doing $500,000 in revenue per year. Which marketing activities should I focus on over the next six months? Based on what you're already doing or not doing or what works in your area based on any information or data you have access to. Right? Right. Maybe. Maybe past campaigns you might have run, you know, anything that's working, anything that's not working, any data you can feed into it and then you can say, help me develop a better marketing plan with these details. And will the plan be perfect? Absolutely not. Again, that's not the whole point. But it can definitely help identify gaps. It can help you understand maybe things you're ignoring with certain reviews. Maybe you're not collecting project photos, you're not sending emails. Maybe your website doesn't look the best. AI can act as a second set of eyes, right? To help you think through opportunities you might otherwise miss or not even think of. So last thing here before we kind of wrap this episode up is I want to make one thing very clear. Right again. AI is a tool. It is a shovel. And if you want to dig deeper holes faster, then it's a tool to be used. Right? Just like a shovel would be used instead of your hands to dig a nice big hole. It's not a replacement for strategy. It's not a replacement for experience. It's not a replacement for execution. A homeowner isn't going to hire a lawn care or landscaping company because they use ChatGPT. They're going to hire a landscaping company because they trust them and because they can do the work. The same thing is true with your marketing, AI can absolutely help you generate ideas. It can help you organize those details and those ideas. It can help you save time. But you also need to have the right message. You need to have the right website, you need to have the right branding. You need to have the right online presence and the right systems to convert interested customers into, I should say customers, interested visitors into actual customers. Right? The business that will benefit most from AI are the ones trying to replace people. They're the ones using it to become more efficient and make better decisions. So if you have been hesitant to use AI, my advice here is very simple. Start small, use it to generate ideas, use it to save time. Use it to help organize your thinking. But most importantly, use it as a tool, not a shortcut to developing better marketing for your business so that you can ultimately again, stand out, get found and win more work. So if any questions on that, obviously guys, always reach out to me@brandable.com through Instagram or any other social media tool and I hope this helps provide clarity on how to best utilize AI to help your business grow.
