Welcome back to another episode of the Branded Full Podcast. I'm your host, Adam Fullert, and every week we help green industry business owners stand out, get found, and win more work through smarter marketing. And today I want to talk to you guys about something that almost every business owner has heard of, but very few actually understand. And that is the Meta Pixel. And you may have heard it be called the Facebook Pixel, but Meta rebranded a few years ago, as you probably know, and after that, Facebook became Meta. Regardless of what you call it, it's one of the most valuable pieces of code you can install on your website. And surprisingly, a lot of contractors either don't have it or have no idea whether it's there and what it actually does. And we'll talk about that more today. So if you've ever talked with a marketing agency about running Facebook or Instagram ads, there's a good chance someone asked whether your metapixel was installed. And most business owners not along because they don't want to sound uninformed. But the reality is that nobody ever takes the time to explain what it actually does. And again, that's what we're going to do in just a few moments. So think about your website for a second. We talk about websites all the time on the podcast for obvious reasons. It's something that we do for the green industry. And so when someone searches Landscaper near me on Google, clicks to your website, looks through your services, clicks to check out your gallery, maybe reads a few reviews, and then leaves without contacting you, right? No contact, no form submission. That happens every single day, Right? Most people don't hire the first company they find. They compare websites, they get distracted, they ask a spouse or simply decide, hey, I'll come back later because I'm busy for whatever reason, probably kids or work or something along those lines. And the problem is that many of them never actually do come back. And this is where metapixel becomes incredibly valuable. Once it's installed on your website, it begins collecting anonymous information about the visitors coming to your website. It doesn't know their name or their email address, but it does recognize that someone using Facebook or Instagram Visit visited your site. That information becomes incredibly useful if you ever decide to advertise on meta. Because instead of showing ads to complete strangers, you can show ads specifically to people who have already visited your website. Just think about how powerful that is. Rather than hoping someone who has never heard of your company stops scrolling long enough to notice your ad, you're putting your business back in front of someone who has already showed interest or shown interest. Maybe they were looking at your patio projects. Maybe they're comparing lawn care companies in the area. Maybe they filled out half of your contact form. And before getting interrupted by a phone call or the kids, whatever the reason, they already know who you are to a degree. And simply reminding them that you exist can often be enough to get them to come back and request and estimate or complete that quote form. Another thing is that Meta Pixel does is it helps meta learn who your ideal customers are. So let's say someone clicks one of your Facebook ads and eventually fills out your estimate. You know, or get free get free quote form, right? The pixel records that conversation and tells Meta, hey, this is the type of person who became a lead over time, Meta gets better at finding more people who have behaved similarly, right? So instead of simply targeting homeowners in a certain zip code, it starts to identify people who are statistically more likely to become customers. That's one of the biggest reasons why Facebook advertising tends to improve over time when it's set up correctly. Now here's something I tell people all the time, though. Even if you have absolutely no intention of running Facebook or Instagram to Instagrams Instagram ads today, you should still install metapixel. I can't tell you how many conversations I've had where someone says, we're not doing social media advertising, so we don't need it. And that's crazy backwards, right? The Pixel starts collecting data the moment it's installed, and that data becomes more valuable the longer it has, the longer the amount of time it has to accumulate. So imagine that in six months from now, you decide you want to start advertising on Facebook. Awesome. Would you rather begin with six months worth of visitor data or start from scratch? It's the same reason you install Google Analytics. Even if you don't look at the reports every week, you're creating history that can become incredibly valuable later on when you do decide to advertise. And speaking of Google Analytics, that's another point worth clarifying because people often confuse the two. So Google Analytics tells you what's happening on your website. It tells you where visitors are coming from, which pages they viewed, how long they've stayed, and certainly other useful information. Metapixel, though, serves a different purpose. Its primary job is to help Meta improve your advertising performance and build audiences that you can market to later. So they're complimentary tools, not competing tools. And ideally every business website should have both installed. And of course, I'm Brandon Bull, we ensure that we install metapixel and set up your Google Analytics if you provide us with the right information. But that's the thing to know. Just because they're standard marketing infrastructure doesn't mean you guys know how it works and what they do. They're not flashy features that customers will probably ever see. I, I should say they won't ever see, but they're the type of behind the scenes tools that make future marketing efforts significantly more effective. So whether you're investing in SEO today, Google Ads next year, or Facebook advertising two years from now, having these tracking tools in place gives you a much stronger foundation. So my challenge to you guys this week, ask yourself one simple question. Do you know whether the metapixel is installed on your website? If the answer is no, or you're simply not sure, that's worth finding out. It takes just a few minutes, few minutes to install, but the long term value can be absolutely crazy tremendous because marketing is becoming more data driven every single day. And the businesses that consistently collect good data are the ones that make better marketing decisions down the road. So check with your provider and if that's us here at Brandable, submit a change request through your brandable dashboard and get the metapixel installed on your website. Now, you'll have to do that through Facebook, of course, or Meta, and their platform, of course. But once you have it, give it over to us and we'll get it installed on your website. So that whether it's in two months or two years when you decide to run Facebook or Instagram ads, you have that data to make your advertising much, much, much more effective and to make sure your dollar goes further and further and further. So that's what I've got for you guys on this week's episode of the Branded Bull Podcast. As always, thank you for listening. Thank you for tuning in.
