I've actually heard that Amazon is a mecca of resources. Who that they had a whole eyeglass wardrobe that was all from Amazon. That's why they could afford to have an eyeglass wardrobe. Because I feel like this was a beauty editor and I was on a press trip and it's somebody really well known for her glasses and they're all from Amazon.

Well, let's start with K Beauty. Since you did talk about that and I do agree it's just like not slowing down at all. And by the way, everybody in our archives, we did a hashtag damn good episode in November or October, November last year. Yes. I feel like everybody goes to Amazon for Beauty of Jose. And you know, this is a brand that became famous for their sunscreens because really when the whole wave of K Beauty sunscreens was coming to North America, they're so well known for being ultra lightweight sheer skin care, like very hydrating and not going to cause breakouts.

[Jill Dunn]

Very protective as well.

[Carlene Higgins]

Yeah, exactly, exactly. They tend to have that like PAA plus plus plus plus rating in addition to being broad spectrum. They're famous for that. But unfortunately, over the past year, as we know, FDA regulations have really buckled down on K Beauty sunscreens. And that's because some of the filters that they were using have not been passed by the FDA in the US the first one that made them famous, Beauty of Jose and relief sun rice plus probiotics SPF 50 pa plus plus plus. I'm holding it here. That one is no longer on shelves in the US and it's no longer on the Amazon storefront either. So Beauty of Jose has created a North American version of their original sunscreen that is meant to tick off all of the boxes in terms of the attributes and the benefits, but it does use North American filters. So the Daily Relief sunscreen is what this new North American version is called. It's an SPF 40. That one will be part of the promotion for up to 38% off. It is sold in the Beauty of Josen store. So you know that it's legitimate, it's not a fake, which has been another issue in the past when it comes to K beauty. But be aware that it is the North American version. I. I have not tried it.

I was just about to ask.

[Carlene Higgins]

It's on route to me. So I only had the original, which is beautiful. Like, definitely lives up to the hype. I have not tried the the North American version. From what I've read, it's getting mixed reviews. There are a lot of people who love it, swear by it, but then there are the original stands and they're like, it's just not the same. So whether that's almost like psychosomatic and they're just attached to the first one, it's hard to say. I think I.

[Jill Dunn]

We can relate to this in the sense that when you tried the biore North American version you were like, it's not the same. And a lot of people we. That video kind of blew up on YouTube shorts and people were like, I'm so upset. Yeah, they kind of agreed with you.

[Carlene Higgins]

I did the half happy and I will do it again when I receive the new one since I do have the original. So stay tuned to our Instagram and our TikTok and our YouTube shorts. So this is where you could have a, you know, something, you could be buying something that is not, that is, you know, gray market.

Yeah. So just go to their storefront. That's the safest bet you. Is there any other K beauty that you wanted to shout out?

[Carlene Higgins]

So another one that I want to let everybody know about, it's called Nemo K N E M O. I had not heard of this brand and the product that I want to highlight is the Nemo. Right away. Thin Cognito spot patch. It's 9.99 US and these are pimple patches. So pimple patches are a huge search term right now. This particular thingcognito Spot Patch, there is a video which I, I will link to in our show notes and on our website and it has received 24 million views showing the efficacy of this particular pimple patch. So not the other ones. It has 1.7 million likes you guys. So I gave it to my daughter to try. And one thing that I would say is unique about it is they're very thin as the name suggests it. And it does have them with you. I do not. And the reason that I don't have them with me is because my daughter used them all before I could get them from her.

They look like the SOCO glam ones in terms of how thin they are.

[Carlene Higgins]

Yeah. I can show you the lip gloss, soft lips lip glosses, which apparently are going gangbusters as well, just to give you an idea. So, yes, it has the tapered edges, which I know you've talked about before. You love that. So it blends seamlessly with the rest of your face and you can even put makeup over top of it. What is special about these and why I wanted to highlight them is that I gave them to my daughter to try. And I had asked her, I was like, of all the things that I've given you to try, is there anything in particular you're loving lately? She name checked these.

Good.

[Carlene Higgins]

And I said, what do you love about these? Because trust me, she's tried so many pimple patches from all of the major brands. And she said they work. She said. She specifically said, unlike the other ones, they work.

So they really draw out, like if you watch that video, it's goes over top of whiteheads. It really is drawing out all of the gunk and it works. That's. That's. No more needs to be said. So this one's specifically for whiteheads. Like, I wish I had this when I was a teenager because I was. I had so many white ads.

And it prevents the picking too, which I think is so huge for acne with young people.

They're tinted. Yeah. Everything from this brand is 30 off. Okay, great. They come in different tints. Any other skin care for you in general?

[Jill Dunn]

There's so much skin care to talk about. All right, okay. Well, first of all, I'm going to talk about Sun Sun Care. A lot of these brands, Beauty of Josen as well as Ultraviolet Supergoop. They get a lot of love and they should. But I will Tell you every single summer, what I am actually using is Neutrogena. It's like I know I will not burn. What I know will actually protect me. What it says on the label is Neutrogena. Yeah. And so my favorite from the line has been for years is the Neutrogena Dry Touch. And all of the Neutrogena sun care is 15 to 20% off during Prime Day. So the dry touch, it's SPF 60 is the one I use. I'm obsessed with this one especially like on my decollete, my neck, my chest. And I will say after years of using it, you have to be really careful putting it on around your eyes. You might get a little, a little bit irritated. But to me it's still worth it because I know that I am not going to burn. So getting it for 20% off, I wanted to shut that out always like in my kit. And then I also wanted to shout out a new product that's a daily spf. This is more of a moisturizer with, okay, brand new from Olay. It's part of their super range. So you might remember the Super Serum. I like that serum when it launched like I think maybe three years ago at this point, right off the top. I don't know if they have a fragrance free version but this is fragrance. So I'm not, I'm not sure if it's going to be for everyone. Now it's going to be on promo for Prime Day and the promo is that you can save up to 25% on select skincare must haves from Olay. Now I got this figure from Amazon Canada team. Potentially the deal could be slightly different in the US but this is the fact that I have to report on at the time of recording. So Carlene, I'm gonna hand you the jar, okay. Amazing. I am always curious to know about the people who want a daily moisturizer with SPF versus people who use a separate moisturizer and then a separate sunscreen for face. I wish they were but again it's like it's, it's going to do the aspect, it's going to have the protection that it says on the label. And I remember with the original serum when they launched that they stacked it up against the quote unquote number one luxury serum in the market. Clinically tested like in a lab and it came out on top. Now everybody knew reading between the lines they were comparing it to advanced night repair. This one, it provides long lasting hydration of up to 24 hours and hydrates better than the quote unquote number one luxury facial moisturizer with sunscreen. This is a fascinating product. So it's a serum to grip polymer technology. It's a primer, but it's a grippy serum. So it comes in a pink dropper. Okay. And so when you put it on, it feels. Feels exactly like a skin care serum. Which actually feels a bit weird cuz like you've done all your skin care, maybe you've put on even your sunscreen. It feels a bit weird to put on a serum over top. So what? But you do apply it that way, and it feels lovely going on. It's, like, refreshing, and it doesn't feel grippy or sticky, unlike the other formulas from Milk Makeup. There's another one from Elf that's really famous, so it just feels like skincare. What you do is you wait 20 seconds, and as it dries down, that's when you get that grip and attack. You get the tackiness. And I actually did that test. I stuck a nail file to my face earlier.

Yes. So I'll be sharing that on Instagram and TikTok everyone. So it does get that tackiness to it, and it lasts for up to 24 hours is what they say. So it's fascinating because it gives you this plump look.

But I think why it's really spun off and why it's gone viral is because people are really finding that their makeup is not pilling over top, like, no matter what makeup they try. So this morning, I use the Maybelline Super Stay 30 Hour Lumi Matte Foundation. And so, of course, with the. Even though it's a Lumi Matte, it is Matte. So it's like you run that risk of it looking kind of dull. But I just found when I put this over top of this grip foundation, it looks so beautiful. Like, it's such a great combination. I'm getting this glass skin effect, but I'm getting the coverage. Whereas I find with the glass skin, typically with those formulas, they're more sheer. Right. To give you that dewiness, so you're not getting the coverage. So I love this combination. It layers super well. They say it's for all skin types, including sensitive skin. Now, I can tell you, as someone who has a lot of texture, because I'm in my late 40s, it's like the way that it filled in lines. And I've said this before when I talked about the Milk Makeup grip, and the Elf is like it. It's all marketed toward Gen Z, but it actually works great on mature skin. And it really. This particular product, like, the way it filled in the lines around my eyes, the cracks around my nose. And I did do a full wear test, and at the end of the day, I had no cracking around my nose, no cracking in all the lines on my chin, which always happens to me. So this, to me, is like a miracle product. Like, I haven't tried anything this good in so long. Maybelline is back, baby. And I cannot believe how inexpensive it is. Okay, I have a couple of things that I wanted to shout out for makeup. One has just gone completely viral. This is the l' Oreal Paris faux brow. And this is going to be up to 15 off. In the. When you turn it up, it almost looks like black honey and how dark the shade of nude is. But we all know how sheer these go on, so. But I was pleased to see that because I was like, okay, great. Maybe this can work on all skin tones. So then you swatch it again. It's. It's quite sheer, but it's like this beautiful kind of brownie tone on me because I'm fair. I really love this because I find, even for myself, when I'm fair, that a lot of fair nudes just don't look good on me. It's like they're too. They just wash me out. It's like, what is this really doing? So this kind of hits that spot for me where it's like, oh, it is sheer. It has a quote unquote nude effect, but it's actually flattering. So I was really impressed by this. And one of the things that I thought was fascinating when I read about it was it says in the description the unique formulation of cool and warm pigments.

Combined with your own lip tone to create a just for you nude. So that's really how it works is like it's not too warm, it's not too cool. It's like this still very sheer and very sheer. Yeah, it's a coating lip lacquer. So this is. This brand gives you a lot of very interesting textures and I've been loving this product. Because it's a long wear lacquer, but your lips don't feel like they're gonna crack off. I was like impressed. I'm not gonna say that all of the products are for me.

But I think that this one is a winner and they have some cheek colors too that are really cool and I think it's really on trend and that's why I want talk about it. Because this doll like makeup is not going anywhere.

You can make it look better, but is it really like healing it as it were or is it really actually repairing? Yeah. So I have this product. This is a fragrance brand that I've been dying to talk about because I love it so much. And this is one of those French perfume brands where they started out in like the 1790s in France. There's a whole story behind it where it was like this guy and he worked with these botanicals and created these fragrances and several generations later his like somebody in his ancestry, like his great granddaughters or something like that, restarted the brand with her husband.

Is that the Louis or the Marie?

[Carlene Higgins]

I'm not entirely sure. I'm trying to speed around this. But anyways, they're based out of la and their fragrances are so special. It's like a modern version of French perfumery. More affordable I would say. They have eau de parfums and they also have of perfume oils which I actually prefer. And for some mystery that's beyond me, I find that these are less cloying and they get at my sensitivities less with these. So what I'm going to recommend as a shout out is the Maison Louis Marie natural roll on perfume oil five piece discovery set. It's 55 in the US, 77 in Canada. That's going to give you five of their best selling fragrances so you can try them. And I love a perfume oil, especially in the summer. It's that close to your skin. There's something about how it drives with your sweat where it's just so beautiful.

But guys, vanilla, this is, this is what's not on Amazon yet. It's just newly launching. But I still need to let everybody know because I'm so obsessed with these. We know that these hair and body mists have taken off, so imagine that. But a fine fragrance version, like a French perfumey. These smell so much like chica and like an actual perfume. But they are, they're water based, they're alcohol free, they're enriched with hyaluronic acid, seaweed extract, so it's giving you those, like, skincare qualities. But it just smells so nice. And even though it's, it's. There's no alcohol, I actually find that these last.

Like I did a test and at the end of the day I was like, can still smell it. And because it's this light mist, spray it on your legs, spray it on your arms, in your hair, it's not overwhelming. These are honestly, this is the perfume of the summer to me. This is it.
