Jeffrey
We've been trying some new things on the podcast. I know change can be a little hard. We're not changing anything. Everything's sticking to the second date updates for sure.
Brooke
Right now we're adding.
Jeffrey
Yes. It's Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. It's just that we do a full radio show and Sunday.
Brooke
Some people are shocked when they find that out.
Jeffrey
We have a literal brand new full hour episode every day. And there's some of the segments that we do that we think our second day audience would love because it's all about relationship drama. So while you have the Sunday, you can just sit back and listen to.
LL Cool J
This and feel better about yourself.
Jeffrey
Yeah. And this is a segment we do called Blind Love is totally not a ripoff of a very well known reality show.
Brooke
Not an obvious reality.
Sandra
Yeah.
Jeffrey
Only original content here. But where two listeners meet for the first time on our show. But I'll let Jeffrey explain that here in a second. All I'm gonna say is I'm very excited about the wheel of accents that we added to the segment. You know what?
Brooke
The TV show's not doing that. Yeah, that's right. That's a fact.
Jeffrey
Hey, let us know in the comments if you like it. And don't forget to share and subscrib. Let's get it started.
Brooke
Where do you go to find real meaningful love connections nowadays? That's tough. Yeah, I mean, bumble isn't what it used to be. The dentist is such a tease. All the mouth stuff.
Jeffrey
You're just Luke from Gas. You would like the dentist. Yeah.
Brooke
You want more gas? Oh yeah, sure. And Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. It had potential. Oh, it was just more confusing than anything. Which one's real?
Jeffrey
Oh, none of them.
Brooke
Princess Diana was coming on to me. No, dude, she's been gone. The only place that's left to meet fun available non wax based singles is right here on our radio show. During a little segment called Blind Love is, two of our listeners will test the waters and see if they connect romantically when they speak to each other for the first first time on our show. That's coming up right after this. They say love happens when you least expect it.
Jeffrey
A that could be true. I think I'm always expecting that's a problem.
Brooke
And that quote isn't just talking about the honey bucket outside of Port Authority. Cuz I was not expecting what happened in there.
Jeffrey
I don't think anybody was not mad either though.
Brooke
But it is also kind of unexpected. Expected to fall in love live on the Radio with millions of strangers listening in. And that's what we're hoping happens today with another edition of Blind Love is if you've never heard it before. We've got two single listeners who've emailed us to do other things on the show. Sometimes they wanted a second date update that didn't work out, or they wanted to be in a different dating segment, but they have agreed to meet for the very first time right here on our show.
Jeffrey
We're getting to a point where people are emailing us, asking us to set them up.
Brooke
Yeah, yeah. I'm not sure why it's funny, cuz. Yeah, that's like the scraps of the.
Jeffrey
The scraps. The apps are that bad.
Brooke
Maybe that's what it is.
Jeffrey
Yeah, that's why.
Brooke
But the whole thing is they've never seen each other. They don't know anything about each other beforehand. We're just putting them together to see if sparks fly, just like they did in that porta Potty.
Jeffrey
Okay. Oh, the porta potty should not be sparking.
Brooke
Well, I think it's near its construction zone. Maybe that's what it was. But today we have two new people who are both open to meeting a total stranger. Their names are Sandra and Richie. Again, never spoken before this. This will be their first interaction, and we've encouraged them to try and ask each other fun questions.
Jeffrey
Yeah, they work with our producer, Right. To come up with some good stuff so they don't bore us to death.
Brooke
Sure, that's the rude way to say.
Jeffrey
It, but small talk can be a little brutal if you don't help it along.
Brooke
Well, let's not small talk amongst ourselves anymore. Let's just get right into this. We're going to put them together and find out if blind, truly love is all right. So here we go. I'm going to step away. We're all stepping away, Sandra. Stepping away. I'm expecting love right now.
Jeffrey
I'm just gonna be quiet.
Brooke
Okay. I'll lean slightly back. Richie, are you there?
Richie
Yeah, I'm here.
Ryan Seacrest
All right.
Brooke
Sandra, are you on the line?
Sandra
Yeah. Hey, Perfect.
Brooke
Okay, we're done talking. Richie, say hi to Sandra. Go ahead.
Richie
Hey, Sandra.
Sandra
Hi. How. How are you?
Richie
I'm good. All right. Hopefully this goes well.
Sandra
Okay. Yeah, I'm excited. I'm excited if you're excited.
Richie
Yeah, I'm excited.
Sandra
Okay, so I have a couple questions for you.
Richie
Okay. I'm ready to go.
Sandra
Okay. Okay. So I'm an animal lover, so I'm wondering, do you have any pets?
Richie
Yeah, I've had three different cats, all in the last year, and they're all from a shelter. The first one was, like, a little too aggressive, so I had to bring them back.
Jeffrey
Oh.
Sandra
Oh, no.
Richie
Yeah, yeah. The second one. All right, you guys think I'm weird here, but I felt like it was the ghost of my grandfather. Like, he kept trying to get into my cigar drawer and it was just too weird. I think it was my grandpa, so I definitely brought him back. And the third one, it's been going great so far, so, yeah, I stuck with him. What about you?
Sandra
Yeah, I actually. I have a parrot. Yeah. And, you know, as you know, I'm single, so she's kind of like my best friend, and we hang out and talk a lot, and we love listening to, like, this radio show together. Yeah. Thank you.
Richie
I bet they get along.
Jeffrey
Wait, what?
Sandra
I don't know if cats and parrots really get along great, but maybe, yeah.
Richie
Maybe your parrot could fly him around and stuff. It'd be great.
Sandra
Okay. I mean, yeah, hopefully they wouldn't, like, fight or anything.
Richie
All right, I have a question for you. If you could have dinner with anybody in the world, dead or alive, who would it be?
Sandra
Oh, that is a good question. Okay, I have to think about it for just a second. Do you do, like. Do you have. Do you have an answer ready to go for that one?
Richie
I actually do. I've thought about this a lot. If I had to pick two people, one would be definitely be Nicholas Cage. I love his movies.
Sandra
He's great.
Brooke
And.
Richie
Yeah, right. Who wouldn't want him at dinner?
Colleen Witt
Okay.
Richie
And then I would also want Bigfoot. Why is that funny? You only ever see him in blurry photos. Like, it'd be cool to hang.
Sandra
Yeah, well, I mean. I mean, yeah, I guess, if you, like, you believe in him. Do you believe in him? You believe in you?
LL Cool J
You don't.
Richie
What do you mean, I don't.
Sandra
You know what? I guess I would just need to have an open mind on that one. I guess.
Richie
I mean, and I. I'd want to see who could eat more, too, between them. I think Nicholas Cage could do anything.
Jeffrey
Can do anything.
Sandra
It would be.
Richie
You could obviously eat a lot, and I'd like to see them head to head.
Brooke
Okay.
Sandra
Yeah, I can see the logic there, for sure.
Richie
Well, okay, so now, have you thought about your answer? Who would it. Who would it be?
Sandra
Oh, man. Okay. Okay. This is gonna be lame, but probably my parrot. There you go. Yeah.
Richie
You could have dinner with anybody, and it's the one you have dinner with every night.
Sandra
No, I mean, it's not that. Like we have dinner every night, but I'm just like a routine person. And you know what? Yeah, actually, I lied. We do have dinner every night and it's great.
Richie
And he's a cheap date, I guess. So it's like.
Sandra
I mean, yeah, actually a little more expensive than you would think because I like to cook her food. Like specifically in a way, so you'd be surprised.
Richie
I really think I'm intrigued.
Brooke
Okay, well, you know, I think we're gonna step in here and just.
Jeffrey
At the parent dinner part.
Brooke
Yeah.
AJ Jacobs
Interesting.
Jeffrey
It was getting so sexy.
Brooke
I know. That was the reason. I was worried that maybe it was gonna get too steamy. The arousal was going a little bit too hot. And this is a children's show, so let's pour some water on it.
Jeffrey
A family show, Jeff, not a children's show.
Brooke
Sorry, what I meant was child friendly.
Jeffrey
I did not know.
Brooke
It's not just for kids.
Jeffrey
Don't talk about kids anymore.
Brooke
You know what?
Colleen Witt
Yeah.
Brooke
Maybe I should be like, good morning. Maybe I should stop talking. But there was a lot going on in that conversation. Some things at least personally, I noticed.
Jeffrey
Just like an episode of Ms. Rachel.
Brooke
Yeah. Let's review what we all learned today because I heard, I don't know about you. I heard lots of laughing on both ends.
Jeffrey
Yeah, I will say there is that.
Brooke
Laughter is good. Yes, the conversation flowed.
Jeffrey
I didn't mean they agreed on everything, but it was.
Brooke
There was a back and forth and.
Jeffrey
It was obvious he was gonna pick his grandpa to have dinner with. Yeah, he didn't even want to live with him as a cat.
Brooke
Why did you keep your grandpa for the end of time and treat him well?
Jeffrey
Grandpas could be jerks too.
Brooke
Yeah. Leading interesting lives, both of them with some interesting answers. But at the end of the day, they both seem like they were willing to compromise. They were open minded with each other.
Jeffrey
So I think they keep going.
Brooke
No, I think so too. But again, that's not up to us. We always leave it up to our listeners to text in 78592 if you want to hear more from Richie and Sandra and continue their conversation.
Jeffrey
Yeah, please only text soon if you're 18 and older. Though, despite what Jeffrey says about her.
Brooke
I'm five. I don't think they should date. Well, sometimes they're the best truth tellers. But that's okay. We're gonna keep them on hold. We'll review the text board and when we come back, we'll see if we continue with Richie and Sandra. Maybe more hot cat and parrot talk.
Sandra
Maybe a par.
Jeffrey
Come on the phone.
Brooke
Blind Love is part two. We're in the middle of a very hot but still child friendly edition of Blind Love is. I was hoping you'd forget about that With Sandra and Richie, two of our listeners who've just met for the very first time on our show and we found out they're both animal lovers. Sandra is very close with her pet parrot. Possibly a little too close. Meanwhile, Richie has gone through three different cats in the last calendar year, which.
Jeffrey
Is not something you should tell people.
Brooke
No, it's honest. He did return two of them to the shelter, one of which he believed was inhabited by the spirit of his dead grandfather.
Jeffrey
So that one had to go. That one had to go the quickest.
Brooke
Pretty much par for the course for our show and our listeners. We did ask the audience a text in 78592. Do you feel the chemistry happening between these two? And should we continue? Cuz we do have other couples waiting on the line in case they say no.
Jeffrey
Oh my God. What was the outcome?
Brooke
The listeners this time said 61% yes. There could be something there between them. We agree.
Jeffrey
Not an overwhelming majority, but still majority.
Brooke
And that means Sandra and Richie are sticking around for more of Blind Love is. And we're adding a brand new wrinkle to the conversation going forward. And they don't know this yet. We're going to be bringing in the romantic wheel of accent.
Jeffrey
Hey, I don't know what that is.
Brooke
It means whatever foreign accent the wheel lands on, they have to use it to discuss the topic that they are given. Offensive. They. They might both get the same accent. They may get different accents for the same conversation.
Jeffrey
Loved knows no bounds.
Brooke
Let's spin it. This one's going to be for Richie. Let's spin that wheel. Hey, it's a pretty big wheel. Richie, you got Russian.
LL Cool J
Oh, man.
Brooke
All right, so we're hearing from Russian Richie. And for Sandra, let's spin her wheel.
Jeffrey
Hello.
Brooke
Sandra, you get British.
Sandra
Okay. Okay. I think I can do that.
Jeffrey
That was pretty good. That was pretty good.
Brooke
That's already going well. So now the topic that you're both being given is discuss what type of meal you two want to go out and get for your hot date tonight. Richie, you're gonna start us off. Go ahead.
Richie
So what would you like to eat?
Brooke
So much angry.
Sandra
Well, it depends. I don't want to have sticky breath if I've got a kiss after.
Jeffrey
Oh, stinky breath. I thought she said stinky bread.
Sandra
Garlic, I guess.
Jeffrey
Nothing Garlic.
Richie
Italian food.
Jeffrey
From Brooklyn. I think he's a drunk Russian, So.
Sandra
That'S why I said I think. God, I think Italian food has too much garlic in it. What's. What's like maybe a light salad?
Brooke
She's good.
Richie
Can we put vodka all over it.
Brooke
Or is that your real life answer?
Richie
I'm not sure where my accent ends.
Brooke
All right, when can they drop it? All right, I think we've decided we're having salad topped with a little bit of Smirnoff on top, so that's nice. Beautiful. Okay, well done. On your first topic, I felt the chemistry.
Jeffrey
He was really hoping for that Italian vodka pasta, though. Yeah. I didn't know where to go when she turned him down on the pasta.
AJ Jacobs
It was beautiful.
Brooke
There was compromise going on. They were listening to each other. Sounds like a great couple so far. Let's go to the next topic and your brand new accents. Richie, we're spinning your wheel again.
Colleen Witt
Let's do it.
Sandra
Oh, gosh.
Brooke
Richie, your second accent is.
Jeffrey
Yes.
Brooke
French. Save the bathroom break for after the show. Okay, Richie, so you're gonna be French for this next conversation. Meanwhile, Sandra, your accent is going to be.
Jeffrey
Please.
Brooke
Ooh, Southern hick. Y.
Jeffrey
That's a fun one.
Ryan Seacrest
Wow.
Sandra
A Southern hick.
Colleen Witt
Okay, okay.
Brooke
French and Southern. A little creole combination here maybe.
Jeffrey
Why does her Southern hicks sound also like her English?
Colleen Witt
Yeah.
Brooke
Okay, now we have our accents. Your next topic to discuss is future children.
Jeffrey
Oh, my God.
Brooke
This is a conversation that tends to come up earlier and earlier in relationships. Richie, you love the name Raisins for a baby girl, but, Sandra, you are dead set on the name Hannibal.
Jeffrey
Oh, okay.
Brooke
And you two are not seeing eye to eye. You need to make your point and convince the other person why you think your name is better. Go ahead.
Sandra
Okay, so, right. Just right off the bat, ain't nobody want a child named Raisin. What is it? They were raised and they dried up in the sun. Hannibal is like. It's like a powerful name. It's fragrant, fear in people's hearts, strong baby girl.
Richie
If we had a bunch of babies, they could be Raisinets.
Brooke
Rais. The accent.
Sandra
God dang French boy. Talk to me about Rais.
Richie
I don't want to eat my children with the. The name Hannibal.
Jeffrey
That is possibly the worst French accent I've ever.
Brooke
He sounds more English than he did when he. You first started. It's from eastern France. That's what it is. Different dynamic. All right.
Richie
I moved there as a child.
Brooke
This is funny and fun. Guys, I wish that we could Let them argue about baby names for longer.
Jeffrey
But we are now on board with Raisin. I know Rais is like the cutest.
Brooke
The hot new girl name of the year, but we're out of time. We have to decide once and for all, do we think that we ship Sandra and Richie as a couple? Do we want them to meet up in real life?
Jeffrey
Do they want to meet up in real life? That's what I want to know.
Brooke
I don't know if they're gonna have as much fun in real life as they would on our show, Jeff. I mean, and it's also a little bit up to them, so. A little bit. Well, you know, they have a choice. I guess we'll let them choose a little.
Richie
I would love to have a date with you.
Brooke
Okay. Richie wants to continue to use his French accent to talk about it.
Jeffrey
Feeling like a really sexy man.
Brooke
That was Borat. I thought that was a new accent. Sandra, do you want to use an accent and say how you feel about Richie?
Sandra
Okay. I guess I feel more comfortable. Like this.
Jeffrey
Yeah, like this. Meaning the accent that you're talking about or with him?
Sandra
Yeah, actually a little bit of both.
Brooke
Maybe Richie needs to keep his French accent when they meet up in person. Okay.
Colleen Witt
That's cute.
Jeffrey
So you guys are gonna meet up in real life?
Richie
Yes.
Brooke
That wasn't your accent, Richie.
Jeffrey
That's the first time.
Richie
Yeah.
Jeffrey
Thank you. There we go.
Ryan Seacrest
Wee wee.
Richie
Okay.
Brooke
And Sandra, how you feeling?
Sandra
I say. I say we. We, too.
Brooke
Yeah.
Jeffrey
In that accent, it sounds like a private party.
Brooke
That was a successful edition of Blind Love is we're going to set up Sandra and Richie on a real in person date. And we are going to. We're going to pay for it too.
Jeffrey
Yeah. And keep us updated on how it goes. I want an update from you too.
Brooke
You.
Sandra
You.
AJ Jacobs
Okay.
Brooke
Right. I think he's exhausted his French, but yeah. Make sure to text into 78592 and tell us what you think about the wheel of accents. Add to the romance.
Jeffrey

The hosts set the stage for today's segment, promising an entertaining interaction between two new participants, Sandra and Richie.
Brooke and Jeffrey introduce Sandra and Richie, explaining that neither has met before and encouraging them to ask fun questions to break the ice. The participants are immediately brought into conversation:
Richie (06:51): "Hey, Sandra."
Sandra (06:53): "Hi. How. How are you?"
Richie (06:56): "I'm good. All right. Hopefully this goes well."
Sandra (07:05): "Okay, so I have a couple questions for you."
They begin with questions about pets, revealing personal anecdotes that add depth to their personalities. Richie shares humorous stories about his cats, including one he believes was the "ghost of his grandfather." Sandra introduces her parrot as her best friend, setting a playful and relatable tone.
The hosts facilitate the conversation by posing intriguing questions:
Question 1: Do you have any pets?
Question 2: If you could have dinner with anybody in the world, dead or alive, who would it be?
Notable interactions include Richie’s playful banter about his grandfather's ghost inhabiting his cigar drawer and Sandra’s candidness about her parrot being her "best friend."

As the episode progresses, Brooke and Jeffrey steer the conversation towards the possibility of Sandra and Richie meeting in person. Richie expresses his interest:
Richie (19:16): "I would love to have a date with you."
Sandra reciprocates, leading to the hosts announcing that Sandra and Richie will indeed go on a real-life date, which they will fund:
