Hey, you found the podcast. It's Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning and welcome to your Sunday special. You know, little something different. Little something different. We do and we love one segment. I think we started this maybe two years ago.
Troy
Maybe I don't know what we're doing right now.
Alexis
Blind love is.
Troy
Yeah, I love that stuff.
Alexis
There we go. Finally catches up.
Troy
It's so good to be here.
Alexis
Yeah, I know. I love that about you. So we got a great episode of that for you starting here in just a second. But we always love to highlight some of our comments of the week. And what do you like, Alexis? Well, okay, before I butcher this name, I'm just gonna shorten it and say binder said listening from Tokyo every day. Literally the only thing that cheers me up. Really wish y' all didn't rest on weekends. Lol. Look it, we got something for you this Sunday. Yes, that's right. Hey, and we do have a full show podcast as well if really want to binge. There is a full hour episode that we do every day.
Troy
All different kinds of segments and everything.
Alexis
Yeah, it has segment date in there, but there's also some like stupid news and there's, you know, who knows what is Tinder Days, competing stories, a lot of stuff like that. So if you want to check that out, our main feed is just search Brooke and Jeffrey and you'll find it. Or you can hit the More like this page. Yeah. And it'll be right there. Yeah. So, okay, that could be. Yeah. Here we go. Let's get this started on a weekend.
Brooke
Have you guys noticed how excited Brooke gets whenever Alexis shares details about her dating life?
Alexis
It's so fun though.
Brooke
I know. Her eyes go high.
Alexis
Such a disaster.
Brooke
Her voice goes high, her glasses fog up and Brooke's like, oh my. And then what did the part time long haul trucker say to you? Don't spare him details.
Alexis
Yeah, we don't have the same type of different time.
Jeffrey
It's not.
Alexis
It's only part time.
Troy
Yeah, he couldn't even make it full time.
Brooke
Brooke, it's not Brooke's fault, okay? It's just once you've been married for 10 plus years, you have no choice but to live vicariously through other people's steamy love lives.
Alexis
Sometimes it's even weird to hear that I've been married for that long. I love being married. But you know, I know you said.
Brooke
Ick to 10 years of marriage, that's still right. All the sound effects, she's like, I'm gonna end that.
Seacrest
Actually, no good news for Brooke.
Brooke
Luckily, we've got two hopeful singles ready to meet for the first time on our show. Brooke's glasses are already on pre fog anticipation.
Alexis
How many long haul truckers are on the line?
Brooke
We're gonna find out. Brand new Blind Love is coming up right after this. They say love can't be forced.
Troy
Yeah, that's true.
Brooke
But I don't want to get into Jose's recent court case. It's broken. Jeffrey in the morning. The thing is, if you can't.
Troy
And that would insinuate I had any kind of action.
Brooke
Thing is, if you can't force love, at least maybe you can gently nudge it in the right direction.
Troy
Sure. Okay.
Alexis
It needs some guidance.
Brooke
Yeah. That's what we attempt to do with segment Blind Love is where we have two single listeners who emailed us for other things. Sometimes they wanted a second date update that didn't quite work out. Or maybe it was a battle of the tinder dates they didn't get to do. But they are willing to meet each other for the very first time right here on our show without ever seeing or knowing anything about one another.
Troy
We're like guiding chemistry, like seeing if they have it naturally.
Alexis
The last time we did this, they were so cute together.
Brooke
Yeah.
Alexis
Do you guys remember? I don't know if we've gotten an update from them, but they were darling.
Brooke
We keep reaching out to them, but they keep hitting ignore. So I don't know, it's probably not a good sign. But we are. We're trying to see if sparks fly while we listen in. And today we have two new people who are open to meeting a total stranger on the radio. Their names are Lori and Troy. And again, they have never spoken before this. This will be their very first interaction with one another. And we've encouraged them to try and ask each other fun questions just so that we're not bored.
Alexis
Yeah, well, yeah, I mean, people are.
Troy
Going to tune out.
Jeffrey
So what's your favorite veget?
Alexis
What's up?
Brooke
Hopefully we didn't ruin it for them, but let's put them together and find out if truly blind love is. Let's punch him up here. Lori, are you there?
Aaron
Hi, I'm here.
Seacrest
Okay.
Brooke
And Troy, are you there?
Jeffrey
Hello there.
Brooke
Okay, we're stepping away now and we're gonna let you two talk. So why don't you introduce yourselves? Go ahead.
Jeffrey
Well, ladies first, please.
Aaron
Oh, my gosh. No, you first.
Jeffrey
Okay. All right. This is really weird. Okay. I am Troy. I'm a copywriter.
Aaron
Well, my name is Lori, and I'd like you to remain vigilant to hear more about me.
Seacrest
Okay.
Brooke
Interesting.
Seacrest
Okay.
Brooke
Lori's a sexy talker.
Aaron
What is the weirdest compliment you've ever gotten?
Jeffrey
Okay. This one time I went to this banquet thing for an old job of mine, and this woman came up to me and she said that at the time I had a really nice beard. I'm clean shaven at the moment. But she told me that my beard looked like I could be like a cult leader if I wanted to. I don't know if that's a good thing or not.
Alexis
That's a visual.
Aaron
So why would you shave it?
Jeffrey
Oh, you know, I think too much power, you know.
Brooke
Lori's looking for a cult to join. Yeah, that's a good answer.
Jeffrey
Okay. All right, let me get one for you. What was the most embarrassing date that you've ever gone on?
Aaron
Okay, well, that one's easy. So a few years ago, I went out to this, like, fancy restaurant with this guy, and midway through, my grandmother shows up and she was on her own date. I know, I know. And it was so weird because she made this huge scene and she's like, laughing at how we're both like single ladies. And she whispers in my ear about like, what name she thinks would be like the perfect grandchildren names. If it's weird out.
Jeffrey
Grandma, take it down a notch for, please.
Aaron
Exactly. What about you?
Jeffrey
So this one time I decided I'd do this kind of impulsive, grand romantic gesture and saw some really nice flowers, hopped the fence and my pants got caught. I got a big hole right in the back. I had to wear a scarf the rest of the night.
Aaron
You had a scarf? But what about down below?
Jeffrey
Yeah, no, that's where I had to put the scarf.
Aaron
Oh, my God. But I do like that you enjoy grand gestures.
Jeffrey
I'm a total SAP. I'm a romantic at heart for sure.
Aaron
All right, so we might work out after them.
Brooke
We have time for one last question. Lori, do you have another one?
Aaron
I have one. I do. What's your favorite memory of childhood?
Jeffrey
Okay, okay, that's. That is a really good one. I do have a good memory for this one. I remember growing up that my family, we go to this, like, old cabin, like this campground that had a bunch of cabins in the woods. There's this big, like mess hall, cafeteria, and it was like, perfect for family reunion, so. Oh, my God. Rented a bunch of Cabins.
Aaron
I'm so sorry for interrupting you, but I had such a similar experience, so I'm just over here. Like, that's crazy.
Jeffrey
Oh, so, like, you had a big family too, then?
Aaron
Oh, my God. I have a really big family. And we used to do the exact same thing to. So weird.
Jeffrey
Oh, no, it's fun, though. I remember I would, like, sit there on my Grandpa Richard's lap. You know, just eat some Pam sandwiches.
Aaron
I had a Grandpa Richard, too. That's so weird.
Jeffrey
Oh, no. No way.
Aaron
He was married to my Grandma Eileen. She was just awesome.
Jeffrey
Oh, that's a. That's a pretty weird coincidence. Yes. My Grandpa Richard also married Nyleen.
Alexis
Huh.
Aaron
Wait, wait, what?
Troy
That's not a coincidence then?
Brooke
I mean, it could be.
Troy
What.
Brooke
What is happening?
Troy
I don't know.
Jeffrey
So this wasn't all in, like, central Oregon, was it?
Aaron
Oh, my God.
Alexis
Oh, no. What?
Jeffrey
No, wait, no. What's. What's your family's last name?
Brooke
Okay.
Jeffrey
Oh, no.
Troy
Oh, no.
Brooke
Let's cut the romantic music as quickly as possible.
Aaron
Oh, my God.
Brooke
Okay, just a little hold on.
Aaron
Wow.
Troy
Is everyone thinking the same thing?
Alexis
She was just hitting on her cousin.
Brooke
Yeah, don't sound so excited when you say it, though. Come on.
Aaron
Unreal.
Jeffrey
Wait, are you little Lori?
Aaron
Oh, God, I'm not little anymore.
Troy
Oh, my gosh.
Jeremy
Grown up.
Alexis
What a wasted time.
Troy
I'm scarred.
Brooke
Well, I would thought you would want to continue with this more than anything.
Troy
It means they have chemistry, right?
Brooke
Yeah, there definitely was a clear connection happening. I didn't know it was a family connection. Okay.
Troy
Yeah, so leave it up to a.
Alexis
Male cousin to not know who his relatives are, right?
Troy
Yeah.
Brooke
All right, well, we got to at least ask the audience to text into 78592 if they felt a spark going. No way.
Alexis
You know, I'm glad the spark wasn't that strong.
Troy
I am glad they got along great. Like cousins do.
Jeffrey
Yeah, no, exactly. We met each other decades ago. We've known each other. That's why we have the connection.
Alexis
Okay, Lori is really regretting that giggle and saying, I think this could work.
Aaron
You know what? I feel like he should be way more embarrassed than me because I was younger, so I think I. Yeah.
Brooke
Troy, you creep. What are you doing?
Aaron
Okay, I am literally texting, like, a whole cousin chat right now.
Troy
No, I would not.
Brooke
I would just go.
Troy
This is private.
Alexis
You want to invite other cousins in on this?
Jeffrey
Yeah, I didn't know.
Brooke
Okay.
Aaron
You should be married. You're so old.
Brooke
All right, we're going to let Lori and Troy go and Work out their issues separately. We're going to get two new people and try this again. We'll make sure that they have the different last names this time when you email us.
Troy
Enter your last names from now on, please.
Alexis
It's an easy check.
Brooke
We're going to do it with a brand new edition of Blind Love is non Cousins coming up right after this. We are back for part two of Blind Love is we have ditched our previous two callers for two brand new ones.
Alexis
Yep. Not gonna get worse, Jeff. Only uphill from here.
Brooke
It's a good point. I feel like we need to put out a big disclaimer. If you believe there's any chance you might be related to the other person on the line, please make that obvious to us.
Alexis
I was thinking maybe we should get this segment sponsored by Ancestry.com just to. Just to do a deep dive before everyone.
Brooke
We maybe should look into it. Yeah, the sales team needs to get on that. But like I said, we have two new people with us right now. Their names are Aaron and Jeremy. And again, these are listeners.
Troy
Sorry, Aaron and Jaren. And I'm like, even them Ryan rhyming is hurting.
Alexis
Too close.
Brooke
Hopefully they are not family members, but also they are people who've tried to do second date updates with us that we couldn't complete for them for whatever reason. So we asked if instead they'd be open to meeting someone new here on our show without knowing anything about the other person. They've never seen each other. They don't know anything about one another. That's why this is truly Blind Love is.
Troy
And let's not forget there's like a lot of people listening.
Brooke
That is true.
Troy
Like, honestly, there's like, I think it's a People listen to our show.
Alexis
So brave to do this.
Troy
Yeah, that's what I'm trying to get at.
Brooke
Risk is high. So Aaron and Jeremy, are you both there?
Jeremy
I'm here.
Alexis
Two people on the phone.
Seacrest
They are.
Brooke
Okay, Aaron, just real quick, do you have any cousins or family members named Jeremy that you know? Yeah, let's do this out now.
Jeremy
We don't do J's in my bloodline.
Brooke
Are you rich or unless you're offended.
Troy
By J in your royal, maybe if.
Brooke
The connection is good with Jeremy, you'll make an exception for him. But we're just going to back away. We are going to stay quiet and let you two talk for the first time to find out if Blind Love truly is Jeremy. Go ahead, say hi. Introduce yourself.
J
Hello, how's it going? I'm Jeremy.
Jeremy
Hi, Jeremy. I'm Erin.
J
Hi, Erin.
Jeremy
Hi. Nice to meet you. Jeremy with the J.
J
Yes, Jeremy with a J. Nice meeting you, too.
Jeremy
Okay, so can I ask you a question?
J
Okay. Yes, of course.
Jeremy
So in the last year, what's been a triumph or a success that you're really, really proud of?
J
Oh, well, I know this might sound kind of weird, but I finally got over my ex. It took a bit, but. Yeah.
Alexis
Hey, something to add that's good.
Jeremy
Did you say got over or got with? I'm sorry, what?
J
Got over. Got over my. With. Oh, no. Okay.
Alexis
I don't think he meant physically.
J
Yeah, we dated for a couple of years, but she's in a rear view with some other guys, so. Yeah, it's over.
Seacrest
Over.
J
I moved on.
Jeremy
Okay. All right. Moving on is good. Let's move on.
J
All right. Well, what about you? What's the success that you've had?
Jeremy
Okay. You know, I'm really proud, like, because I started taking cooking sessions six months ago. I've always wanted to be better, and now, like, I can make. I do brownies.
J
That's so cool. It's funny. I actually took a cooking class too, a few years ago with somebody who I'm not gonna mention, but it was really. It was so fun and romantic and positive memories. It was great.
Alexis
Romantic memories.
Brooke
Oh, God.
Jeremy
Well, you know, it's positive because I do now know what not to do if we ever do hang out.
Brooke
You want to bring those memories?
J
Oh, no, no, no, no. It's fine. It's fine. Again, like I said, it's in a real view.
Alexis
Oh.
Brooke
Oh, yeah.
J
Let's just not do any jogging locally.
Jeremy
You don't like jogging? I'm about to go for a hike right now.
J
No, it's great. It's just that a certain person that is currently doing that. I've seen the photos on social media.
Brooke
Oh, God.
J
With their new person.
Jeremy
Wait, wait, so, like, social media? I thought you said you'd moved on.
J
Oh, yeah, I totally have. It's just, you know, a warning that we probably shouldn't do that.
Brooke
Yeah.
Jeremy
Okay, can you just tell me what you're looking for when you're at her social media?
Alexis
Like, oh, God.
Jeremy
If you've moved on, like.
J
Oh, I mean, listen, you keep saying her, but she has a name. It's Yvonne, and she's a good person.
Brooke
Okay, you know what? Yeah, I think. Let's cut the music. I don't know if this one is going worse or the first call that we had with the cousins.
Alexis
At least the cousins got along.
J
Yeah.
Brooke
I know.
Alexis
Put any exes.
Brooke
Okay, maybe I'm reading it wrong.
J
I don't know.
Jeffrey
Think.
Brooke
So, Brooke, what's your take on this lovely couple?
Alexis
Oh, Jeremy, I know you say you're over Yvonne, but I don't know that.
J
You are Yvonne with a Y.
Alexis
Okay. Yeah.
Troy
Again, she does deserve respect.
Brooke
She is.
Alexis
It shouldn't matter.
J
She brought it up. She was talking about cooking classes.
Jeffrey
It triggered me.
Brooke
Aaron, it wasn't very nice of you to ask him questions about his ex.
Troy
Why would you cry like that?
Alexis
We're joking. Aaron, how did you feel?
Jeremy
I'm kind of at a loss for words. Like, it's ridiculous for me that. That he says he's over his ex and he spends the whole time talking about his ex.
Brooke
Wow. Seriously?
Alexis
And her new man, though.
Brooke
Yeah. So there's no chance that they're getting.
J
Back together out with the.
Alexis
Her.
J
Her name is Yvonne.
Alexis
Okay, Yeah, I know.
Brooke
We're just trying. Not to mention.
J
Look, just forget it.
Alexis
Just forget it.
Brooke
Well, no, look, I'm still gonna give you guys the opportunity to meet up in real life without having ever seen each other first. There's still some mystery there. Because remember, this is Blind Love Is.
Alexis
And the thing is.
Brooke
Yeah.
Troy
Yes, I guess.
Jeremy
Yeah. But it's not death. Love is. I heard what he said.
Alexis
Okay, so it sounds like you're not that excited about it, Aaron.
Jeremy
Not at all. He can keep following her on social media.
Alexis
Oh.
Brooke
We should totally rip off that segment and do it on our show.
Alexis
But it doesn't work very well.
Troy
Not gonna do well in radio.
Brooke
I think we should try it. Let's see how it raises. We'll try.
Jeremy
I need to find somebody who's ready for a relationship, and he is clearly not.
Alexis
Okay.
J
I'm ready for a relationship. I was with Yvonne for a long time. She won't take me back now, so I'm ready.
Brooke
Desperate for one. Almost.
Troy
Okay.
Brooke
All right, well, maybe, Jeremy, you do a little bit more work and we'll have you back again for another edition of Blind Love Is.
Troy
Or do what we did last time. Look within your family.
Alexis
I was thinking we just need to find him a woman named Yvonne and then. And then she won't know.
Jeremy
I agree. I agree.
Brooke
Very, very healthy for you, Jeremy. Okay, we got your back, bro.
Troy
Text us.
J
I'm gonna go join a jogging club.
Brooke
Okay. He's going back to find her now. So that was. Blind Love is. Make sure text in 78592. If you want to meet somebody on.
Alexis
This very successful segment, what we do.
Brooke
You could be One of our success success stories for the next edition of Blind Love is It's Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.

Release Date: June 15, 2025
Host/Authors: Brooke, Jeffrey, Alexis, and Troy
Platform: iHeartPodcasts
Introduction to the "Blind Love Is" Segment
In this engaging episode of "Brooke and Jeffrey: Second Date Update," the hosts—Brooke, Jeffrey, Alexis, and Troy—introduce and delve deeper into their popular segment, "Blind Love Is." This segment is designed to help listeners navigate the complexities of dating by pairing two single individuals who have interacted with the hosts but have never met each other. The goal is to see if sparks will fly without any preconceived notions or physical appearances influencing their connection.
Setting the Stage: The Concept of Blind Love
At [02:35], Alexis introduces the "Blind Love Is" segment, emphasizing its uniqueness:
"We have two single listeners who emailed us for other things... but they are willing to meet each other for the very first time right here on our show without ever seeing or knowing anything about one another."
Brooke adds her excitement, highlighting the anticipation and potential for genuine chemistry:
"Brooke's glasses are already on pre fog anticipation."
First Attempt: Lori and Troy's Connection Turns Awry
The first pair for the "Blind Love Is" experiment consists of Lori and Troy. The conversation begins positively, with both individuals sharing anecdotes and personal stories. However, an unexpected revelation occurs when both realize they share the same last name—indicating a familial connection. This twist leads to an awkward and humorous exchange:
[11:20] Jeffrey observes:
"So this wasn't all in, like, central Oregon, was it?"
[12:00] Alexis quips:
"She was just hitting on her cousin."
The hosts quickly realize the misunderstanding and decide to discontinue this pairing, joking about the unexpected family reunion:
"We need to put out a big disclaimer. If you believe there's any chance you might be related to the other person on the line, please make that obvious to us." ([13:08])
Introducing the Second Pair: Aaron and Jeremy
Undeterred by the first pairing mishap, the hosts introduce a new set of participants—Aaron and Jeremy—who are enthusiastic about finding a meaningful connection without any prior knowledge of each other.
"Are you rich or unless you're offended."
The conversation between Aaron and Jeremy focuses on their personal triumphs and past relationships:
[16:03] Jeremy shares his pride in enhancing his cooking skills:
"I'm really proud, like, because I started taking cooking sessions six months ago. I've always wanted to be better, and now, like, I can make. I do brownies."
[16:03] Jeremy continues, revealing a past romantic gesture that didn't go as planned:
"So this one time I decided I'd do this kind of impulsive, grand romantic gesture and saw some really nice flowers, hopped the fence and my pants got caught."
Navigating Emotional Baggage
The conversation takes a deeper turn when Jeremy discusses his ex, Yvonne, and his attempts to move on:
[17:18] Alexis comments on Jeremy's lingering feelings:
"I don't think he meant physically."
[18:12] Jeffrey senses the underlying tension:
"It triggered me."
Brooke mediates the situation, offering a humorous yet empathetic perspective:
"Can you just tell me what you're looking for when you're at her social media?" ([17:55])
Jeremy admits his confusion and lingering attachment:
"I'm kind of at a loss for words. Like, it's ridiculous for me that... he spends the whole time talking about his ex." ([18:02])
Hosts' Reflections and Future Plans
Recognizing the emotional complexity of blind dating, the hosts reflect on the challenges faced during the segment:
[19:38] Alexis remarks:
"Okay, so it sounds like you're not that excited about it, Aaron."
[20:28] Alexis suggests a solution to prevent future familial pairings:
"I was thinking we just need to find him a woman named Yvonne and then... And then she won't know."
Brooke humorously vows to enhance the segment's effectiveness:
"We should totally rip off that segment and do it on our show." ([19:49])
Conclusion: Encouraging Listener Participation
Wrapping up the segment, the hosts encourage listeners to participate, sharing the possibility of being featured as success stories in future episodes:
"You could be one of our success stories for the next edition of Blind Love Is." ([20:51])
They also remind listeners to text in to share their own experiences or to be considered for the "Blind Love Is" segment:
"Make sure text in 78592 if you want to meet somebody on... This very successful segment, what we do." ([20:43])
Final Thoughts
This episode of "Brooke and Jeffrey: Second Date Update" offers a candid and humorous look into the challenges of matchmaking through blind introductions. While the first pairing resulted in an unforeseen family connection, the second attempt highlighted the complexities of moving past previous relationships. The hosts demonstrate resilience and a commitment to aiding listeners in their quest for love, all while maintaining a lighthearted and entertaining atmosphere.
