Jeffrey
Welcome to the second date podcast. You are in for a treat today. Oh yeah, it's Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning because the listener who called us in for help, told us he was kind of famous. Yep. Brooks doing air quotes you can't see, but. I know, I know. But honestly, when his true identity was revealed, we were shocked. You're gonna hear it all coming up, but let's. Let's do some listener comments real quick.
Unknown Speaker 1
It was Tupac.
Jeffrey
Yeah.
Unknown Speaker 1
Sorry to reveal.
Jeffrey
No, I saw this comment from Derek that said, love the show. Tuning in from Wisconsin, my wife got me hooked on the Second Date update last summer. Then that turned into the phone tap. Then that turned to the full show I listened to every day, and I just bought the Second Date Update shirt and can't wait for it to arrive.
George M. Johnson
Yes.
Jeffrey
Yeah, I love it. I love it so much. Yeah, we do the Second Date podcast, and we also do a full hour show. If you like to punish yourself that much, you can search Brooke and Jeffrey, or you can just hit that more like this tab, and it should come right up there. Anyway. All right, let's get this started.
Brooke
Second Date Update. You know, sometimes I wonder, do opposites really attract?
Unknown Speaker 1
Okay, good question.
Brooke
Because I look at Brooke's husband, and he's handsome, charming. Wait, funny.
Jeffrey
What?
Tiffany
He is.
Jeffrey
I agree.
Brooke
Extremely humble. Yeah, I mean, Brooke, you're.
Jeffrey
You know what? Wait, what?
Brooke
You're probably at least one of those things, if not half of one.
Jeffrey
I mean, I agree with you about my husband, but now I feel a little hurt.
Brooke
Why does she feel. I'm just trying to question.
Jeffrey
I think it's more of a personality.
Brooke
Thing that makes us opposites.
Jeffrey
Question. Okay. All right, Jeff.
Unknown Speaker 1
I mean, he's, like, the perfect guy, and Brooke is.
Jeffrey
Hey, hey, hey.
Brooke
There's a lot of theories being thrown around right here, but one of our listeners. One of our listeners tried the opposites approach, and I wonder how that went for him since he's on the phone.
Jeffrey
With us, going, not well.
Brooke
Yeah, probably not all that great. But I am interested in hearing his story. So let's talk to Chris. Chris, what's up, man?
Chris
Hey, guys. Well, it's not going terrible, but I could use your help.
Jeffrey
Okay. You just need a little help. Not a ton of help.
Chris
Well, we'll see. I mean, hopefully.
Brooke
All right, well, tell us about your opposite. Who are they?
Chris
Well, the girl's name is Tiffany, but she's a couple of years younger than the girls I've been dating and, like, loves to party and go out and super social and.
Unknown Speaker 1
Yeah.
Jeffrey
And do you like that? Is that a lifestyle you're into?
Chris
You know, I had a blast with her. And, like, I've Typically not gone out with people like that.
Brooke
Oh.
Chris
And then I get kind of bored of the people that I've been dating and.
Unknown Speaker 1
Yeah.
Chris
So I figured I'd give this a whirl.
Unknown Speaker 1
That makes sense. I think everyone comes to a point where it's like, you love being drunk at a bar at midnight, and then you get older and you're like, I'd rather be in bed at midnight, you know, maybe reading a book.
Brooke
Yeah. I think that that's not what Chris is saying. He's saying the opposite. He wants to get back into the fun lifestyle.
Jeffrey
Yeah.
Brooke
Right.
Jeffrey
He was bored by the early bed.
Chris
Yeah. I had a. I had a taste of it, and it was. It was awesome.
Jeffrey
Okay, what did you and Tiffany do?
Chris
So we initially met up at a bar.
Jeffrey
Okay.
Chris
And like, the sort of general awkwardness of, like, the first meeting was broken immediately because she was like, hey, honey, and just gave me a huge hug. And, like, it was very different from sort of the standoffish, like, oh, nice to meet you.
Unknown Speaker 1
Yeah. Like, the whole timid me.
Jeffrey
Yeah. She wasn't old enough to be jaded yet, so she didn't have as many barriers, as many guards up.
Brooke
That's nice, because some people are actually like that. They're super outgoing and personable the second you meet them. So it's nice that you found somebody like that. How did the actual day go?
Chris
It was great. Like, I'm not one to go clubbing, but I guess I can say have now because typically, like, I go to, like, maybe one bar, one place and kind of hang out there for the evening. I think we went to three clubs after. So, like, I got dragged around and, like, willfully and happily.
Brooke
Okay, that's a good thing. Or is that a red flag in your mind?
Chris
I just kind of rolled with it and wasn't really sure. Like, is this going to be fun? Is this going to be annoying?
Unknown Speaker 1
But that's the adventure.
Brendan Patrick Hughes
Right.
Jeffrey
And that's her scene. Right. Like, did you have to wait in line or was she able to get you in at every place? Because that's how you, you know, if she's.
Unknown Speaker 1
Yeah, she knows all about.
Jeffrey
Exactly.
Unknown Speaker 1
Like, oh, hey, what's up?
Chris
Well, she was on the list at two places, and then, like, we were in line for. We got, like, got to the first club and got in line, and immediately these two girlfriends are hers. And, like, pulled us up to the front. We walked right in.
Jeffrey
Yeah, see, that's even better. It is good. But also, you know, is it worry you, Jose? Because you said, oh, and she's on the list at two places.
Unknown Speaker 1
Look, I have a lot of guy friends. I think we all know promoters and the girls that tend to be on every list at every club tend to be fun.
Jeffrey
They are fun. They are fun, but they're not necessarily looking for a relationship.
Unknown Speaker 1
Like maybe, I mean, looking to have fun.
Jeffrey
What are you looking for with her?
Chris
Well, I mean, see where it goes, I guess. But what's weird is the end of the night, like, had this amazing kiss with her and asked, hey, am I going to see you again? And she was like, if you're lucky, I love it.
Brooke
Oh, that's such a good flirtatious line.
Jeffrey
It is, yeah.
Chris
Well, then her Uber pulled up, she hopped in and like wave goodbye and like, that was it. But like, I reached out to her afterwards and she's responded. But when I asked her to like make plans, she's non committal.
Jeffrey
She doesn't sound like a person who makes plans. You know what I mean? Like, she's bar to bar, she's club to club. She's rolling with life, right?
Brooke
And I mean that's, that's a fun lifestyle to live. But is there any time during the night, Chris, where you felt like the two of you just got to sit down and connect?
Jeffrey
That sounds old and boring, Jeffrey.
Brooke
Well, that's the type of thing that I think he wants.
Chris
We did talk a little bit about, like our families and how I recently lost a bunch of weight and you.
Unknown Speaker 1
Know, just how like as she's twerking on you.
Jeffrey
Yeah, you're just yelling.
Unknown Speaker 1
Yeah, I lost 30 pounds.
Brooke
I love this song.
Jeffrey
I have a sister.
Chris
No, no, no. I wasn't trying to have this conversation on the dance floor. No, it was before we went to the club and I guess you had.
Jeffrey
Travel time in between, right? Like either you were walking or in an Uber or.
Chris
Yeah, okay, but I mean, it wasn't like awkward or anything. It was just sort of general. I mean, she said she showed a picture of her family and friends so that I couldn't murder her, but.
Unknown Speaker 1
No, that's good.
Jeffrey
And it's funny.
Brooke
Tiffany sounds like a firecracker. So we're all going to have to turn up a lot before we make this phone call here.
Jeffrey
I don't know if we should say it like that.
Brooke
How do we say it?
Jeffrey
I don't know. I think we just be ourselves with Tiffany. We don't need to try to be cool. Jeff. I was ready.
Brooke
It's going to be the coolest edition ever of Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning when we come back, can we.
Unknown Speaker 1
At least play a cool song?
Brooke
Boring song, so we can really skyrocket off of it when we do our second date update. It's happening next. Hold on. Second date update? Yeah, we got our glow sticks out.
Tiffany
Yeah.
Brooke
We do our flaming jello shots lit.
Jeffrey
What do you mean?
Brooke
Wow, I just went in the bathroom and snorted something off the toilet seat.
Jeffrey
No, bro, don't do that.
Brooke
It may have been comic cleaner. I don't know what it was. The thing is, I do feel lemony fresh for the second date update. Okay? Because that's what our listeners trying to do for his dating life now. Trying not to be so boring anymore. It's one of the main reasons he went out with someone named Tiffany. She's young and outgoing, loves to party and bounce around from club to club. So that's what they did for their date night. Had a great time, but afterwards, Tiffany's been mia. Good news is, some of her wild side did rub off on you, Chris, because you're stepping out of your comfort zone now. Calling a radio show, trying to get a hold of her. How does that make you feel?
Chris
I mean, somewhat desperate, but, like, she's worth it.
Jeffrey
Slightly embarrassed, but still fun.
Brooke
Yeah, that's what the young people feel all the time.
Jeffrey
Do you think she's actually gonna be awake right now?
Chris
Yeah, I mean, like, I don't mean to make it seem like she's always partying, but I just feel like she would not miss a good party.
Jeffrey
Okay, okay.
Unknown Speaker 1
She's already on the list.
Jeffrey
She has a job in, like, some sort of, like, adult part of her life too. You mean?
Chris
Yeah, I mean, as far as I could tell, she seems to keep it together, but she's not the one who wants to Netflix and chill, okay?
Jeffrey
Okay, there's no chill.
Chris
Well, there's like, chill, but, like, it's gonna be, like, chilling somewhere out and about.
Brooke
Okay.
Unknown Speaker 1
Real life chill.
Brooke
Like, no consciousness chill.
Unknown Speaker 1
Or like, at a Waffle House.
Jeffrey
Yeah, that's what I was kind of thinking, too, Jose. Not that she was passed out in an alley.
Unknown Speaker 1
She's, like, in a park.
Jeffrey
Yeah, sleeping.
Brooke
Let's not waste any more time. Let's just call Tiffany and see if she knows Alexis personally and if she even remembers you, Chris, but.
Jeffrey
And if not, we'll become friends.
Unknown Speaker 1
Hey, T. What's up, girl?
Brooke
All right, let's just do this. I'm a dollar number right now. Here we.
Tiffany
Hello?
Brooke
Oh, she's awake. Is this Tiffany?
Jeffrey
Hi.
Tiffany
Yeah, it is.
Jeffrey
Hi, Tiffany.
Brooke
Tiffany. What's up?
Tiffany
How are you?
Jeffrey
Good.
Brooke
How are you? Do you have any idea who you're talking with right now?
Tiffany
No, I don't know who I'm talking to. I'm so tired.
Brooke
Oh, okay.
Jeffrey
Yeah.
Brooke
Well, you're on the radio right now with Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.
Tiffany
No.
Brooke
Yeah, yeah.
Tiffany
Why am I on the radio?
Brooke
Because a little birdie told me that you're a fun time.
Jeffrey
What? Why are you say to. Like, we're supposed to be so.
Tiffany
Right.
Brooke
Yeah, okay. All right, Mrs. Cool, you take it away.
Jeffrey
It's not a good name.
Unknown Speaker 1
Yeah, bro, you got it.
Jeffrey
I don't know, it just sounded weird, like you got her number off some bathroom stall or something.
Brooke
Maybe I did. Tiffany, would that be weird to you?
Tiffany
That would be weird, but the birdie. No, I. I was partying with the birdie last night.
Jeffrey
Or something.
Brooke
I think she was hallucinating. But the truth is, we're calling you because one of our listeners gave us your phone number because he wants to get a hold of you. Remember going out with Chris the other night?
Tiffany
Oh, yeah.
Brooke
Okay, that's good.
Jeffrey
Okay. Did you have fun with Chris? Was he a good time?
Tiffany
Yeah, we have fun. For a guy that was, like, more of an introvert, he kind of let loose.
Jeffrey
Okay.
Tiffany
Like, he let his shell down and, like, had a. At a ball.
Jeffrey
Yeah.
Brooke
I can't help but notice the. There's something in your voice, Tiffany, that's telling me something was off.
Tiffany
Yeah, so at one point, towards the beginning of the date, he started, like, talking about how he's lost a lot of wheat and. In the newspaper.
Jeffrey
In the newspaper. Sorry, what. What did that have to do with the newspaper?
Tiffany
Yeah, he said that he. They did a story or feature him or something.
Brooke
Yeah.
Jeffrey
Good for him.
Tiffany
And then he said that he might also be on television. So I researched it because you would think, like, the TV would tell the story when the newspaper, like, both of those would talk about his weight loss and everything.
Brooke
Yeah, because just knowing your type, personality, you're not gonna be reading any newspapers coming out soon.
Tiffany
I was really looking for the television.
Unknown Speaker 1
She's like, let me see the short news clip on TikTok.
Brooke
So what'd you find?
Tiffany
I found him on Dr. Phil.
Jeffrey
Oh, on Dr. Phil. Whoa, dude. So it's like a national story.
Brooke
Why Was he on Dr. Phil?
Tiffany
So I'm not gonna say why he was on there, because, like, that's his business. But I'm not gonna hang out with him anymore because when I turned on the television, he was on the TV in the same outfit. We went to the date, and he wasn't on there for his weight loss.
Jeffrey
So I can understand, like, the outfit thing. Cause everybody has that one outfit that makes them feel really good about that, too.
Unknown Speaker 1
I know mine. Outfit that I'd wear in Dr.
Jeffrey
I'm, like, dying to know what the Dr. Phil episode was about.
Unknown Speaker 1
He's like, chris, why do you smoke so much Crying.
Jeffrey
Well, that was the weight loss. That would still be weight loss. Yeah, that would still be weight loss.
Brooke
I saw that episode. That was a good one.
Tiffany
No, but seriously, like I said, that's his business, is not mine. And clearly, he probably doesn't have a problem talking to you because he called you and you're calling me. But I would definitely ask him.
Brooke
Okay, well, if you're not gonna tell us, Tiffany, then we're just gonna turn over to the. And ask Chris. Chris.
Unknown Speaker 1
Hey.
Brooke
Why were you on Dr. Phil, bro?
Tiffany
Wait, wait, you have him on the phone?
Brooke
Yeah, no, that's how this segment works. We have him waiting on the other line, but Chris.
Tiffany
Oh, God.
Brooke
Yeah.
Chris
Yeah. I mean, look, I met. I was on Dr. Phil, and. Yeah, but why? I mean, look, I'll explain sort of quickly.
Unknown Speaker 1
Bro, you're fumbling your words a lot. I don't know what's going on here, but I don't like it.
Jeffrey
How did you make it a whole show? You can't say it. And why would you tell her about it if it's something you're embarrassed of?
Chris
I wasn't embarrassed about it, but I didn't really think she'd go look it up. I was just like. We were talking about, like, being written up in the newspaper and possibly being on tv.
Brooke
All right, well, can you fill us in on why you were on the show?
Chris
I was. I was a guest. I wasn't the main feature, but the deal was my sister was a stripper. And what was effed up about it was a friend of mine went to the strip club and, like, courted her. And so that's what the show was about.
Jeffrey
Just. The show is about somebody sleeping with your stripper sister.
Chris
Exactly.
Brooke
Okay, who hasn't that happened to before?
Jeffrey
Like, bad producing from Dr. Phil. That sounds pretty like it makes me a lot worse. Yeah, that's a pretty dull thing. Like, Tiffany, you're in the party scene. Why does that bother you?
Tiffany
The part that really, like, weirded me out was the fact when they asked him, like, if this wasn't your sister, would you be attracted to her? And he said yes.
Chris
Oh, wait, what am I gonna say? Tell my Sister. She's ugly. Come on.
Brooke
Yeah, the whole. The point is to, like, imagine her as not a sister.
Chris
There's no right answer for that. They're only wrong.
Unknown Speaker 1
That's. He has a point.
Jeffrey
Why is Dr. Phil asking those questions? Because that's good producing. You want the juice, dude. You want the drama on these shows.
Brooke
I think, if anything, it proves that Chris is a gentleman because he knows how to compliment a lady.
Unknown Speaker 1
Absolutely.
Jeffrey
That is a stretch.
Tiffany
Being attracted to someone and complimenting them are two different things. Especially your sister.
Brooke
But sister.
Chris
What am I supposed to say, no, she's pretty. She's just not my type? I mean, that's.
Tiffany
That's exactly what you say. I don't look at my sister like that. I don't know if I would be attracted.
Chris
I didn't say I looked at my sister like that.
Brooke
The point was, Dr. Phil said, pretend it's not your sister.
Chris
Made me look like an.
Brooke
I feel like maybe Dr. Phil should book both of you for a new show.
Tiffany
Are you kidding me? Get out of here.
Jeffrey
One more chance.
Brooke
Yeah, you guys just need one date to build a little bit more drama between you.
Tiffany
I don't want drama. I don't want. I don't.
Jeffrey
It was. It wasn't drama, though. It was just a misunderstanding.
Chris
Yeah, we had a good time. The drama came from you seeing it.
Tiffany
Yeah, like, he purposely misread me.
Jeffrey
No, he didn't. He didn't.
Tiffany
Ah, he did. He wanted to be cool. He wanted to say that he was popular or he had some type of fame.
Chris
I didn't. I don't think any of that. And who's gonna try to brag by saying they're on Dr. Phil?
Tiffany
At least you don't say you aren't Dr. Phil. You said you're.
Chris
That's right. I did not. I said I was on tv.
Tiffany
Right, you're on TV with your stripper sister that you were attracted to.
Brooke
If you would let me.
Chris
Needed a job. I. I'm not attracted to her like that. Like, she's a pretty girl.
Brooke
I think he's made it pretty clear here, Tiffany. He's not attracted to his sister. He is attracted to you, though.
Jeffrey
I can't believe he's having sex to.
Chris
Prove that the girl's married and doesn't strip anymore. Like, come on.
Brooke
So the question is, makes her less attractive with his stripper sister. We would like to send you, Tiffany, on a date with this TV star who is 100% not attracted to his real sister anymore anymore.
Tiffany
When did he stop being attracted to Her. I don't know if I want to do that.
Jeffrey
It was a joke for Tiffany, who doesn't like drama. I'm not gonna say it. Tiffany, give him another chance. He sounds like a cool dude.
Unknown Speaker 1
He's honest.
Brooke
We can find out if he's really an honest guy or not right now. Oh. I'm just gonna ask you one question, Chris. Are you attracted to my co host, Brooke? Oh.
Chris
I mean, I think she's a very attractive lady.
Brooke
Can't trust this guy.
Jeffrey
He's a liar.
Tiffany
Where's the honesty?
Brooke
Where's the honesty? I'm with you, Tiffany. Cut and run. Can't trust this dude.
Unknown Speaker 1
He needs to stay away from shows.
Jeffrey
Radio shows, TV show. A good idea.
Brooke
Look at Jeffrey in the morning, man. I know we were kind of joking about it, but I'm serious. I actually think having those 2 on a Dr. Phil episode would be absolutely hilarious.
Unknown Speaker 1
Yeah?
Jeffrey
You think funnier than the stripper sister? I mean, I don't know about that.
Brooke
Just hearing the bicker back and forth. I mean, that's TV gold.
Jeffrey
And I do like how honest he is about all his questioning. You know, even when asked if he thought his. His sister was attractive, that's all you can ask for.
Brooke
And after we recorded that second date, behind the scenes, I did confirm that Jose has a sister. So I asked him, if she wasn't his sister, would he be attracted to her? And to his credit, he was very grossed out by that.
Unknown Speaker 1
I am grossed out.
Brooke
No, she's not his type.
Jeffrey
I think that's the thing with siblings. It's okay to say that you're. That your other sibling isn't attractive.
Brooke
Exactly. But his mom. Mom, that was a different story.
Unknown Speaker 1
Don't get me going. Mama likey. Okay, Jose. Mama.
Brooke
Okay. If she wasn't your mom. Let me be clear.
Jeffrey
Before he put that in, I thought.
Brooke
It was assumed, Right?
Jeffrey
It's not assumed, Jose.
Unknown Speaker 1
Okay, I need to get out of here.
Brooke
Jose's mom better check her DMs a little bit later. He's got a message coming.
Unknown Speaker 1
Mama doesn't know how to check her DMs.
Jeffrey
Actually, Mama needs to block her son.
Brooke
Yeah, I think we just kind up with a fun new party game, though, that you can play. It's called if she wasn't your sister by hasbro.
Jeffrey
They're like 12. One of us. But the legal one, I mean, that's fair to ask.
Brooke
No, you can stop at first base. You can. You don't have to go any farther than that.
Unknown Speaker 1
Okay, we were done.
Brooke
Hasbro. I Hope you're listening. Anyway, if you ever want to get a second date update or just be really grossed out by a few minutes of us talking, I need a shower. Email the show. We'll call the person who isn't calling you back.
